[0:28]ill [Music] [Music] as Sal [Music] [Music] allahar ill alhamdulillah alhamd sh
[3:28]muham respected brothers and sisters Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has created the
[4:03]human being as a social being we are created to interact with
[4:11]other people Allah subhah wa ta'ala did not create us in a
[4:17]way where we seclude ourselves and isolate ourselves from others we need
[4:23]to socialize and we feel a sense of fulfillment when we socialize
[4:28]this is why Allah says in the Quran verely you have been
[4:39]created in male and female and made into Nations and tribes so
[4:43]that you get to know one another in another verse Allah says
[4:52]from the signs of God is that he created you in pairs
[4:57]so that you may find Tranquility with one another another and suon
[5:02]with one another and when it comes to relationships our life is
[5:07]defined by the relationships that we make how do I prioritize that
[5:11]relationship which which relationships do I prioritize in my life some people
[5:17]their life is defined by their career their relationship is based upon
[5:23]their career if this is going to make me money I'm going
[5:25]to enter into this relationship if it's not going to make me
[5:28]money I'm not going to enter into this Rel relationship some people
[5:34]family comes first family above all else other people God comes first
[5:39]so the relationships that we have and how we deal with these
[5:44]relationships and how we have the hierarchy of this these relationships defines
[5:49]who we are as a person and a successful person is the
[5:54]one who's able to manage their relationships properly a successful person is
[5:59]the one that knows how to deal with people how much to
[6:04]give to each relationship and they know the order and the hierarchy
[6:07]of the priority of relationships which relationship do I have to prioritize
[6:12]in my life and then which relationship and then which relationship and
[6:16]often times we see people fail in life whether it's marriage whether
[6:20]it's business whether it's any decision because they don't know how to
[6:25]prioritize their relationships because they don't know how to create a hierarchy
[6:29]what relationship comes above which relationship maybe I'm hanging around the wrong
[6:33]crowd and I'm ignoring my responsibilities my more important responsibilities in life
[6:40]so now when it comes from an Islamic perspective what is the
[6:45]hierarchy of relationships which relationship comes first and then which relationships come
[6:52]after of course when we look at the teachings of Islam you
[6:57]have one relationship that comes Above All Else and that is your
[7:05]relationship with God of course with Allah subhana tala we have to
[7:07]have a relationship we have a bond with Allah subhana wa ta'ala
[7:09]and I as a Muslim as a Believer I have to put
[7:15]my relationship with my Lord my relationship with my Creator above everything
[7:20]else and this is the single most important relationship you could have
[7:25]in your life if all other relationships if all other bonds do
[7:31]not work but this one works then you are going to be
[7:34]successful but if you have all other relationships working you're the most
[7:39]popular person you have thousands of friends on Facebook and followers on
[7:43]Instagram and all over social media but you don't have a relationship
[7:46]with God what's that going to help you it's not going to
[7:51]do you anything all the money in the world you're connected with
[7:54]people but if you're not connected with God it's not going to
[7:58]do anything to you and Unfortunately today we see people they sacrifice
[8:02]the most important relationship in life and that is the relationship with
[8:07]God for the sake of other relationships and that is the meaning
[8:10]of failure maybe you might look at someone you might say this
[8:16]person is successful this person is wealthy this person is this and
[8:19]that but if a person does not have a relationship with God
[8:22]this person is not going to be successful on the day of
[8:27]judgment this person is going to come to God poor this person
[8:29]is going to come to God not having anything because they did
[8:34]not invest in the most important relationship and this is a test
[8:39]one of the most one of the greatest tests we are tested
[8:41]in this life is with regards to our relationship with Allah subhana
[8:44]tala do I care for that relationship or do I prioritize something
[8:51]else used to Stand and Deliver his sermon on the day of
[8:58]Friday and then a caravan passes a business Caravan passes and suddenly
[9:04]there were individuals who are listening to the prophet they hear the
[9:07]business has Caravan has passed you know they had a moving market
[9:13]so this business Caravan passes and what do they do they get
[9:15]up in the middle of the and they leave the prophet and
[9:19]they go after their business and Allah subhana T talks about this
[9:23]in we recite this every Friday in [Applause] they leave the prophet
[9:35]standing delivering the sermon and they go after their business and then
[9:39]Allah says in the Quran you're after risk you're after happiness whatever
[9:49]you're after in life it's in the hands of Allah subhana wa
[9:51]tala so why leave God why sacrifice and compromise that single most
[10:00]important relationship in life for the sake of other relationships and my
[10:04]dear brothers and sisters we see that this relationship with God is
[10:08]tested every day sometimes it's tested because of wealth sometimes it's tested
[10:12]because of our children sometimes it's tested because of other things in
[10:17]life Allah says in the Quran verily you're going to be tested
[10:22]with your wealth and with your children and with your family but
[10:26]the believer is the one that does not come compromise their relationship
[10:30]with God and Allah says in the Quran Allah says if any
[10:58]relationship if you're if your your CH your fathers or your children
[11:02]or your brothers or your spouses or your tribes or your wealth
[11:07]comes before God and the prophet and defending the religion of Islam
[11:15]then know that you are going to be against Allah subhana wa
[11:18]tala so this is something that we have to be very careful
[11:21]of so we mentioned our life is defined by relationships the single
[11:26]most important relationship is your relationship with God which Rel relationship comes
[11:30]next in the hierarchy of relationships your parents according to the Quran
[11:37]according to the religion of Islam second in line before anyone else
[11:41]come your parents and Allah says in the Quran your lord has
[11:51]declared that you do not worship anyone other than God and second
[11:55]you have to havean to your parents you have to take care
[11:58]of your parents you have to be there for them you have
[12:02]to show them the love and the affection and the compassion and
[12:05]several verses in the Quran talk about the importance of caring for
[12:12]parents and we have commanded and ordered the insan to showan to
[12:21]your parents and here's the beauty of Islam Allah says even if
[12:25]your parents are not Muslim even if your parents are mush they're
[12:28]asso ating a partner with God you still have to respect them
[12:33]you still have to love them you still have to care for
[12:34]them and be there for them yes we have a rule I
[12:42]cannot because the single most important relationship in my life is with
[12:47]God that means this relationship governs all other relationships so that means
[12:52]the lower tier relationships cannot make me do something that will break
[12:58]the first relationship so that means I have to respect my parents
[13:03]I have to love my parents I have to be there for
[13:05]them but if my parents tell me to do something Haram do
[13:08]I obey them I don't obey them if my parents tell me
[13:13]to do something I idol worship associate a partner with God I
[13:15]don't obey them but I still have to show them love I
[13:19]still have to care for them I still have to be there
[13:20]for them I still have to check up on them and Allah
[13:25]subhana waa says [Applause] um if they are ordering you to do
[13:35]something Haram don't obey them but you still have to show them
[13:37]respect you still have to show them that love and that compassion
[13:41]and we see that this relationship your relationship with your parents this
[13:46]is also tested a lot in life just like your relationship with
[13:49]God is tested your relationship with your parents is tested sometimes you
[13:55]find the Dilemma do I have to put my spouse my wife
[14:01]or my parents sometimes you find some people they come young people
[14:05]you hear that a lot they come and they say oh my
[14:09]parents are toxic my parents don't know what they're talking about my
[14:11]parents this and my parents that were your parents toxic when they
[14:15]were feeding you were your parents toxic when they were raising you
[14:19]were your parents toxic when they gave you everything that they had
[14:23]now they became toxic because they're telling you don't go out at
[14:26]this time and and be home by this time and this is
[14:31]unfortunately this is what we see many young people in society right
[14:34]now they come and it's very easy for them to break their
[14:38]ties with their parents it's very easy for them to disrespect their
[14:41]parents and this is not only something that is morally and ethically
[14:46]wrong but it is Haram as well it is Haram and the
[14:52]punishment from Allah subhana tala will come very quick to a person
[14:56]that does not respect that relationship and if you want God to
[14:59]bless your life if you want God to honor your life then
[15:04]you have to keep that Bond and take care of your parents
[15:10]and be there for them take care of them and when they
[15:13]pass away you say you pray for them you remember them and
[15:20]often times we see that some people the moment their parents pass
[15:26]away what do they say this responsibility is over for me I
[15:28]don't have to take care of this responsibility anymore is it over
[15:33]with the passing away of the parents it's never over in fact
[15:36]you have to continue remembering them and honoring them and visiting their
[15:40]graves and doing sodak on their behalf and doing all that it
[15:45]takes because the relationship that bond is never over the third tier
[15:50]we said your relationship with God comes first in the hierarchy and
[15:54]then your parents and then third you have other family members you
[16:00]have it's very important in Islam for us to take care of
[16:07]our parents for us to not not only our parents but our
[16:10]relatives uncles cousins family extended relatives any blood relatives you have a
[16:17]responsibility towards them and this is what is your your Rel reles
[16:29]they should be prioritized whenever you want to do something good look
[16:33]do I have relatives that are in need you give your relatives
[16:36]and then you give other people if you have you have Z
[16:40]you have whatever it takes you have to go and check up
[16:44]on your family first Allah says in the Quran that means if
[16:49]you want to do some you want to do something good do
[16:52]it to those who are closest to you first and Allah says
[16:57]in the Quran describing those who have have a strong relationship with
[17:01]their family the Believers they are those who take care of that
[17:14]relationship they sanctify that relationship with Allah subhana wa tala so this
[17:19]is with their family with their relatives and this is also tested
[17:22]many times we see people they come and they say I have
[17:26]a relative who doesn't talk to me I have a relative that
[17:27]does not respect me what am I supposed to do with this
[17:32]person what you're supposed to do is know that God is going
[17:34]to hold you accountable for what you did Allah is not going
[17:38]to ask you what they did so you have to fulfill your
[17:40]responsibility if it takes just a phone call a text message checking
[17:45]up on this person at least you do not be the one
[17:47]that disconnects the bond with the family if they disconnect then that's
[17:52]on them but you don't be the one that's responsible for disconnecting
[17:55]the bond then in the hierarchy of relationships after God Parents extended
[18:02]relatives then comes your friends and your neighbors and co-workers and these
[18:08]sort of relationships that we have to respect we have to honor
[18:12]these relationships if someone is trusting you that means God is in
[18:16]this relationship that means Allah subhana wa ta'ala is going to hold
[18:22]you accountable with how you deal with these relationships and who do
[18:26]I enter into a relationship with this is also so very important
[18:30]am I entering into a relationship with someone that brings me away
[18:33]from God am I entering into a relationship with someone that brings
[18:37]me away from my parents someone that destroys my faith maybe this
[18:40]person is fun to hang around with maybe this person is wealthy
[18:43]they'll make me a rich but they'll bring me away from God
[18:47]is this a healthier relationship to be with and Allah subhana wa
[18:51]tala describes on the day of judgment how all relationships will come
[18:55]to an end even the mother even a mother even the even
[19:03]the mother she will drop her child why the only relationships that
[19:08]will last are the relationships that are bounded by faith and bounded
[19:15]by respect to God and respect to Faith Allah says all relationships
[19:24]will turn into animosity except the relationships that are bounded by tawa
[19:31]bounded by God God Consciousness we will conclude here to go on
[19:36]to the second aldam muham Muhammad Ali Ali Muhammad Hass my dear
[21:46]brothers and sisters we were talking about the hierarchy of relationships and
[21:51]in Islam we cannot just be friends with anyone we cannot just
[21:56]have relationships with anyone whoever it is there's a hierarchy there's an
[22:01]order there's a priority when it comes to relationships the number one
[22:05]is God and then your parents and then your family and then
[22:09]your friends and people who are around you and even when it
[22:14]comes to people in society when it comes to people in the
[22:17]community am I supposed to be friends with anyone out there is
[22:22]any everyone out there worthy of being my friend no in a
[22:26]beautiful Hadith from IM he talks about some of the restrictions of
[22:32]who I should socialize with he says friendship has boundaries if someone
[22:49]has some of these boundaries then attribute him to Sak to Friendship
[22:54]but if someone does not then do not consider this person to
[23:01]be a friend and then he mentions he mentions five important things
[23:05]that you have to have in a friend the first this person
[23:17]in private and public they are the same they're not two-faced with
[23:21]you there are some people in front of you they act in
[23:25]one way behind your back they act in a different way this
[23:27]person is not worthy of being a friend second this person if
[23:39]something good happens to them they will see it if something good
[23:42]happens to you they will see that good is happening to them
[23:46]and if something bad happens to you they will also consider the
[23:49]bad happening to them because there are some friends they only want
[23:52]the good for themselves and if something bad happens to you nothing's
[23:56]going to happen in their life so this is the second the
[24:06]third this person is not changed because of power or because of
[24:12]wealth you might have some friends you're old friend with this you're
[24:16]a friend with this person suddenly this person became very powerful suddenly
[24:20]this person became very wealthy now they don't even say Salam to
[24:23]you anymore now they don't even look at you now they don't
[24:28]even connect with you anymore because now they are too busy for
[24:31]you so this is not a person to be friends with this
[24:40]person will help you in any way possible if I am able
[24:44]to help you then I help sometimes there are some people that're
[24:47]unable to help we can't expect more but if someone is able
[24:53]to help you then they will and the fifth and the Imam
[24:56]says and this basically summarizes all of the first four and that
[25:04]is this person does not let you down when you're in need
[25:10]basically someone that you can count on someone that you could rely
[25:13]on not someone that is not there for you and does not
[25:18]help you and remember we said the first relationship the most important
[25:22]relationship is the relationship with God and that governs all other relationships
[25:27]and typically if someone has fear of God if someone has faith
[25:30]in God they're not going to let you down they're not going
[25:34]to disappoint you they're going to make sure that even if they're
[25:36]unable or they don't want to help but because God is in
[25:41]this relationship then they're going to make sure that they fulfill their
[25:45]duties they're going to make sure that they fulfill they do not
[25:48]neglect you and let you down because there's a lot of people
[25:55]out there they don't know how to take care of relationships they
[25:59]think that praying and fasting and fulfilling their responsibilities with God that
[26:04]is enough for them but in fact when we enter into a
[26:09]relationship with someone whoever it is it's your neighbor it's your relative
[26:13]it's your family it's your friend whoever it may be now God
[26:18]is going to watch me how I take care of this relationship
[26:20]what do I do with this relationship tells the Muslims do you
[26:30]know who is the bankrupt person so the Muslims who's who's someone
[26:38]who's bankrupt they said the one who's bankrupt is the one that
[26:43]does not have a Duram a coin a silver coin or does
[26:48]not have anything and then says this person who's bankrupt they will
[26:58]come on the day of judgment they have Salah and they have
[27:02]zakat meaning they filled the fulfilled the responsibility to God the muas
[27:14]the bankrupt person is the one who on the day of judgment
[27:18]they will come they come with prayer they come with zakat but
[27:21]they also cursed at this person they accused this person they stole
[27:25]from this person they hit this person they abused other people this
[27:29]person will be bankrupt on the day of judgment why he says
[27:36]says because people are going to say this person stole from me
[27:42]this person cursed at me this person hurt me this person did
[27:44]something wrong against me so what's going to have to happen I'm
[27:49]going to have to clear my account I have to give some
[27:50]of my S here some theab to this person some good deeds
[27:55]to this person until all the good deeds are done and then
[27:57]they're going to say this person's still he used to keep talking
[28:00]bad he keep he kept slandering he kept hurting he kept insulting
[28:04]they said okay now you have to take the bad Deeds from
[28:06]this person because there's equality there has to be Justice they give
[28:12]them the bad deeds and then this person goes on the day
[28:15]of judgment with all bad deeds and this is why we have
[28:22]to care for these relationships that we had my dear brothers and
[28:25]sisters when it comes to relationships there has to be boundaries if
[28:30]there's no boundaries then that friend is not going to respect you
[28:34]and not going to be there for you my dear brothers and
[28:39]sisters we ask Allah to make us have healthy relationships just a
[28:44]few last points I want to shed light on a massacre that
[28:47]took place yesterday or the day before they're calling it The Flower
[28:55]Massacre because the people of Gazza who are being starve to death
[29:00]because all borders are closed and they have no access to food
[29:04]there are children that are dying out of hunger there are children
[29:07]that are actually dying out of starvation right now in Gazza they
[29:15]bring in a few trucks of food and because they're so hungry
[29:18]because they have nothing they haven't eaten for days they start running
[29:22]to take the food and then the terrorist Israeli army they begin
[29:32]to shoot at them killing hundreds wounding hundreds and this is a
[29:36]crime that is being taken place before the eyes of the whole
[29:40]world everyone is watching everyone is watching this but then you continue
[29:45]to hear the president and you continue to hear people in power
[29:51]Israel has the right to defend itself how does Israel have the
[29:53]right to defend itself by shooting at innocent people by shooting children
[29:57]I saw an image yesterday that is haunting where a body of
[30:03]a child has been ran over by a tank this is what
[30:08]they're doing these are the crimes that they are committing and the
[30:12]whole world is silent last week America the third time they vetoed
[30:17]they vetoed the ceasefire and yesterday Algeria they come and they try
[30:21]to pass a resolution to condemn the shooting of these children the
[30:27]shooting of these innocent people people that are taking the food and
[30:30]there's one country that always comes in the way and stops these
[30:33]condemnations and that is the United States that is the United States
[30:38]the president and those in power they come and they speak in
[30:43]the name of humanity but there's no Humanity there's no Humanity there's
[30:47]no shame where they're watching these people being killed and this is
[30:54]the silence and this is the the treatment that they are receiving
[30:59]and my dear brothers and sisters we will continue to vote last
[31:03]last Tuesday alhamdulillah the community here and all of Michigan people all
[31:09]across Michigan they all voted to uncommit themselves from the genocide that
[31:15]Biden is complicit in and the government is complicit in and we
[31:22]showed the world and it's become very clear that Michigan is not
[31:25]going to be a place where he will win as long as
[31:31]these actions are taking place and by and by the way this
[31:33]is not only Muslims some people they have the idea that it's
[31:37]only Muslims that are saying we need to call for a ceasefire
[31:39]we saw a few days ago the soldier who burned himself protesting
[31:44]the actions that are taking place and there are many other Americans
[31:47]there are many other Americans with a strong Consciousness that are protesting
[31:51]the actions that are taking place and the genocide that is taking
[31:58]place my dear brothers and sisters our hope is in Allah subhana
[32:01]wa tala we have to continue to do Dua and the month
[32:06]of Ramadan is approaching the month of du the month where the
[32:09]Dua is accepted let us continue to pray for the people of
[32:11]gazah for the people of leanon for all of the oppressed people
[32:16]all over the world my dear brothers and sisters before I finish
[32:50]this is a reminder to get your tickets for our we're going
[32:55]to have one Community dinner inshallah on April 5th at B uh
[32:58]please you could reserve your seats before it becomes too late and
