[0:00]maja long sagadam from muhammad life voila le VAV Napoleon and maximum
[0:09]integer being a homeowner ages what a harem thought he lost a
[0:20]lot of a lot about okay what are elastic eternal energy he
[0:27]wanna kill Hamidah balloon haha I oughta be learning in a shape
[0:49]one orgy for the quality of the garden Zachary [Music] what a
[0:58]phenomenon you know the ensalada muhammad wa ali muhammad long Sanada Mohammad
[1:05]OID man sha Allah over the course of the next few nights
[1:12]or couple weeks until the end of this holy month we'll be
[1:17]discussing few verses from surat maryam chapter xix of the holy quran
[1:26]containing several wonderful stories of Prophet Zachariah Zacharias and then the birth
[1:36]of yeah yeah John the Baptist and then moving on to marry
[1:43]em or marry and hear wonderful stories in the Holy Quran after
[1:49]that we'll touch upon the story of Abraham ibrahim alayhis salaam and
[1:55]some of the other prophets that are mentioned in this surah we
[2:00]will take a break for three or so nights which will be
[2:08]the nights of the Shahada of imam amirul mumineen an evening be
[2:12]a part of salawatullahi wa salamu alayh and we'll dedicate those three
[2:16]nights for imam ali salam ala ala and then we'll resume with
[2:23]the discussion of surat maryam in sha allah so the beginning of
[2:32]the surah starts with alphabets there are 29 sewers in the holy
[2:41]quran that begin with alphabets alphabet such as for example surah al-baqarah
[2:49]if you look at the beginning of surat al-baqara it says the
[2:56]smell of manna rahim Alif LAAM Meem you have some other servers
[3:00]like surah Saad starting with sod surat yaseen starting with seen surah
[3:07]taha starting with so this surah also begins with some alphabets and
[3:17]they are curved yeah I'm and Saad what do these alphabets mean
[3:26]today sha Allah will give about three meanings or interpretations to the
[3:34]meaning of these alphabet and then we will take a look at
[3:43]the last meeting and will branch off to it to the affective
[3:45]modes of communication one suggestion about CAF yeah I inferred all the
[3:55]alphabets in general and the Holy Quran is that they are secrets
[4:03]their secrets to whom only Allah subhana WA Ta'ala knows the answer
[4:07]so what do these alphabets really mean there are just wonders of
[4:13]the hora it's to tell people that no matter how advanced you
[4:19]might get something so simple like the alphabets may get you and
[4:24]keep you at wonder it's kind of a realization to humanity that
[4:34]don't feel invincible with all the discoveries that you make with all
[4:40]the power that you attain it is sometimes something simple that can
[4:45]take you down a human being who could be very powerful very
[4:52]mighty a small parasite can bring him down to earth it is
[4:57]narrated that a man by the name of Al Mamun al abbas
[5:02]II he was the son of Harun al-rashid the Abbasi kaleb's the
[5:07]abysses established a very big dynasty and their capital was the city
[5:11]of Baghdad in Iraq al Mamoon al abbas II was the man
[5:16]who with his own hands killed an imam allah by allahís kalam
[5:21]poisoned macGruber our hmm alehissalaam his father Harun al-rashid ordered the imprisonment
[5:30]and the poisoning of the father of Imam agava Imam will Calvin
[5:35]alehissalaam and moons daughter at the command of her uncle Matt moons
[5:47]brother Alberto said she poison an imam who jawad so you can
[5:50]imagine what the family it is mashallah father son and granddaughter so
[5:55]here is how things are working with this family this memorial Abasi
[6:00]was quite mighty quite powerful yet the story goes one day he
[6:08]was with his entire army with his big army and they were
[6:12]standing there at a place that is just like a lake and
[6:17]he sees a fish that is fishing you know coming out in
[6:19]the water he says you know I want you to fish this
[6:23]fish for me I want to eat it as they were catching
[6:28]the fish it splashed water on him and he felt unwell oh
[6:31]you know I'm getting cold now all of the sudden because of
[6:36]this water that's what splashed on him he develops a fever and
[6:39]that fever kills him so here is a mighty man who killed
[6:46]his own brother to become the Selita he killed Imam Abu baraa
[6:52]laid his cellar gonna be microphone we follow Muhammad in so he
[7:03]killed an imam of navarre alehissalaam he killed his own brother to
[7:08]become the Khalifa yet it's just a matter of some water being
[7:11]splashed at him that bring him down to his knees so sometimes
[7:15]it's something that you don't even think about it's the little things
[7:19]that will gets you and Allah subhana WA Ta'ala may be hinting
[7:22]towards this look at this great or on but it still contains
[7:27]some secrets and it's the alphabets that you may not be able
[7:30]to understand so that's one interpretation that they're just wonders that people
[7:35]don't quite understand second interpretation is that those who are challenging the
[7:48]authenticity of the holy quran people at the time of the holy
[7:52]prophet sallallahu alayhi wa LA were challenging is this for an authentic
[7:56]no no no they were saying the Prophet himself came up with
[8:02]it he wrote it himself he's a great poet he's a magician
[8:05]and they started giving all these names to the prophet sallallaahu he
[8:09]who had these letters at the beginning of the holy quran suggests
[8:14]that listen all you guys were challenging the authenticity of this holy
[8:20]book if you're claiming that allah did not reveal this book fine
[8:28]what is the book made-up words what are my words made up
[8:32]of letters okay so these are the letters and if Lam Meem
[8:40]yeah I ain't thought etc etc etc use these letters and try
[8:44]to come up with something as magnificent as the holy quran good
[8:50]luck go ahead this is like for example you coming to a
[8:54]very wonderful painting and you come to that painter and you say
[8:58]you know what that's something simple you know I could have done
[9:02]this myself okay well you really think oh yeah definitely that's nothing
[9:05]I could have done that I could have done better than that
[9:11]like okay well here are the tools I use this brush I
[9:13]use this paint there you go take the tools and come up
[9:19]with something better than this as you claim so another interpretation is
[9:26]these are the tools of this holy book the alphabets are the
[9:31]tools so if you are questioning the authenticity of the holy quran
[9:36]if you are saying that no no no it was not allah
[9:41]who revealed this book come up with one surah like the holy
[9:45]quran what is the shortest surah in the holy quran what is
[9:51]it I'll catch up so that will catch up you guys have
[9:55]sorted Calvin memorizing Sharma I hope so right yeah good how many
[10:02]verses does it have you sound hesitant three thank you very much
[10:10]three verses okay I'm hoping everyone here knows Ovid in Calcutta is
[10:16]the shortest surah in the Quran three verses only Allah subhana WA
[10:21]Ta'ala says here is a sewer and the shortest surah in the
[10:27]Quran made up of three verses come up with something like it
[10:31]good luck and it's been 1,400 years and still people have not
[10:38]come up with anything like the Quran so my brothers and sisters
[10:41]I know there are a lot of people who write about the
[10:48]authenticity of the Quran some are academics they criticize the Quran my
[10:52]request to all of you my message to all of you when
[11:00]you come across such individuals the simple answer is this come up
[11:05]with a book like the Quran those who criticize the authenticity of
[11:11]the Quran I found many of them do not even know Arabic
[11:20]the Quran is revealed in Arabic in order for you to understand
[11:24]the Quran you have to learn Arabic and I don't mean Arabic
[11:27]just speaking Arabic know you've got a study Arabic language you have
[11:32]to study Arabic grammar Arabic grammar is quite intensive there are people
[11:37]who do pH D's on Arabic grammar Arabic literature Arabic linguistics that's
[11:42]quite deep quite detailed in order for you to really understand the
[11:47]Quran you have to have all this knowledge under your belt if
[11:52]a person just says well I'm an Arab speaker and you know
[11:54]I have a problem with the hold on say excuse me with
[11:58]all the respect just because you speak Arabic does not mean you
[12:00]understand what the Quran says so one of the problems I'm seeing
[12:07]with people who have problems with authenticity of the Quran is that
[12:11]they themselves don't even know Arabic they read the translation of the
[12:14]Quran you cannot read the translation of the book to understand it
[12:17]this is like me taking Shakespeare and translating it into Arabic and
[12:21]seeing read this and someone would really like what's so special about
[12:25]this you know there's nothing special about it so well no no
[12:29]I mean this guy was a genius in English literature like yeah
[12:32]but doesn't look like it yeah because you're reading in a different
[12:37]language read it in English and you realize the kind of contribution
[12:41]he made so the Quran has to be made has to be
[12:46]studied by someone who's an expert of the Arabic language to the
[12:49]best of my knowledge and my research I have not yet seen
[12:55]an expert in Arabic language who has doubted the authenticity of the
[12:59]Quran that it is being the words of Allah to the contrary
[13:04]to the contrary I attended a lecture 21 years ago by a
[13:14]professor of Arabic language at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver
[13:20]Canada Professor Hanna cassis who he himself was not a Muslim he
[13:26]said in his lecture that if I take a look at the
[13:32]Quran only as a book of literature I can prove that it
[13:35]is a book that was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad from God
[13:41]this book it's not a book that was dictated by prophet muhammad
[13:45]sallallahu alayhi wa himself from himself he did not write it himself
[13:49]he did not compose it himself it was revealed to him and
[13:55]he passed that revelation on to the Muslims it is a laws
[13:59]words that Professor is a professor of Arabic language and Islamic studies
[14:04]and that's one example of the many examples of professors who have
[14:12]studied Arabic and studied the Holy Quran and came to the conclusion
[14:15]this is not human words the other problem with some of those
[14:22]who criticize the Quran as a simple fact that and says come
[14:26]up with a sewer I like it it's been 1,400 years in
[14:33]fact let me tell you something at the time of the Prophet
[14:36]Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa ala the arabs were well versed in poetry
[14:40]it was there like peak of their poetry there were so good
[14:46]at it Iran came to challenge them so and very easy way
[14:49]for those Arabs who were against Muslims against Islam a very easy
[14:56]way for them to destroy this whole religion is to do what
[15:00]what do you think what is it exactly destroy the Quran come
[15:09]up with something like the Quran why would flash for example have
[15:13]to fight many wars against the Muslims prepare an army they fought
[15:17]the Battle of when the Battle of than the Battle of Honda
[15:22]and they continued to fight against the most why bother just hire
[15:25]a couple of excellent poets people who are really really good in
[15:29]Arab language literature tell them listen guys just finish this let's get
[15:34]this business have a door wait did they do that no they
[15:40]just were incapable of doing it so that tells you that or
[15:46]on as indeed God's words so next time whenever you are hearing
[15:51]doubts about the Quran that Iran propagates this Iran is this go
[15:55]ahead and ask for answers because there are answers you may not
[16:01]know them but there are there so just go ahead and ask
[16:03]don't believe all this nonsense about Iran and the attacks against the
[16:10]Quran it is the book of allah subhanahu wata'ala and it has
[16:15]a great power i remember many times not just once i have
[16:21]been invited to churches where I go on and I talk about
[16:23]Islam usually when I'm invited to churches I start my discourse where
[16:29]the recitation of you verses of the Holy Quran and after completing
[16:34]my reciting I do it the recitation first in Arabic and then
[16:37]I translate it and I've had this happen more than once where
[16:42]a person would come to me after that lecture and take to
[16:45]me Sheikh or Imam I did not understand a word of what
[16:50]you read in Arabic but I found it moving I swear this
[16:53]isn't the words they have I found them moving and when I
[16:57]hear this I remember the verses of the Quran itself what Allah
[17:00]subhana WA Ta'ala says if we were to reveal this mountain this
[17:05]Quran upon a mountain you'll find it shaking and trembling breaking down
[17:08]out of the fear of Allah subhana Allah so if a mountain
[17:13]can break down from the greatness of the Quran rocks what about
[17:17]a human being was about feelings was got understanding there's got emotions
[17:21]obviously they'll be moved so a second interpretation of these alphabets at
[17:29]the beginning of the Quran is that they are the tools for
[17:33]this wonderful book if you ever doubt the greatness of this book
[17:36]fine take the tools and come up with something like it so
[17:42]the first interpretation it's I wonder it's a miracle that only God
[17:48]knows the answer to second interpretation is it's the tools for this
[17:52]wonderful book use them and come up with something like it if
[17:54]you can the third interpretation Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala is suggesting to
[18:07]us that every letter counts every word counts so when you speak
[18:13]when you talk when you are having a communication a conversation make
[18:17]sure you watch your language you watch your words because words can
[18:23]be very powerful not just words even letters alphabet they could be
[18:33]very powerful so watch the methodology of your speech this is something
[18:39]interesting the way we converse is extremely important communication is extremely significant
[18:49]some people are great at communication skills others are not however it's
[18:58]always about practice as they say practice makes what perfect how you
[19:06]present something it's really important and it may have an impact on
[19:11]the listener there was a professor of psychology at the University of
[19:21]Michigan here in your backyard but this was back in the 1950s
[19:27]dr.
[19:29]Doron carte writes Cartwright he wrote a paper back in 1951 about
[19:36]the affective modes of change interestingly in that paper back in 1951
[19:46]dr.
[19:47]dorwan Cartwright says sometimes the language you use may have an impact
[19:59]on people for example if you want to induce change into people
[20:03]and that's a great thing great leaders want to and transform people
[20:08]they want to transform their followers they want to change people but
[20:13]how would you feel if someone came to you and says I
[20:21]would like to change you how would that make you feel I
[20:24]am here to really make change each and every one of you
[20:30]guys how would that sound that may not resonate well with some
[20:34]people change me while I'm happy the way I have I don't
[20:40]want you to change me I'm okay the way I am so
[20:47]some people might associate change with some emotions became them it becomes
[20:49]emotional however I can say something along the following lines I am
[20:57]here to educate you I'm here to train you people are more
[21:05]susceptible to being educated trained as opposed to being changed even though
[21:16]the implication may be the same by educating you I'm trying to
[21:19]change you I'm trying to change your perspective on things I'm trying
[21:22]to transform the way you think about things I'm training you I'm
[21:26]educating you but the language makes a big difference doesn't it it's
[21:33]how you present it how you talk about it so brothers and
[21:36]sisters this is really important it is said what are that his
[21:39]teeth are falling out that's in the dream he wakes up and
[21:45]he calls upon some people he's like who knows how to interpret
[21:48]dreams you know I I had this kind of bothersome dream that
[21:53]my teeth are falling out who knows how to interpret dreams so
[21:56]they bring someone he said like I know how to interpret dreams
[21:58]okay what how do you interpret this dream is like this is
[22:02]such a bad dream your your majesty terrible terrible what do we
[22:07]good lord what's happening like you know your whole family is gonna
[22:11]die and you're gonna live alone for the rest of your life
[22:13]what you probably don't even know how to drop dreams kill this
[22:20]man so they actually execute this problem there goes his life because
[22:25]of a dream then they bring another fella they ask someone else
[22:29]how do you interpret this dream and he interpreted the same way
[22:33]as the first guy so guess what will happen to the second
[22:37]person alayhim his life is also done they bring several and unfortunately
[22:46]this King just kills them one after the other because they all
[22:48]interpret the dream in the same way until comes one intelligent person
[22:56]comes this one guy and says your majesty I know how to
[23:00]interpret this dream it's like yeah sure like everyone else right prepare
[23:04]the guillotine it's like to the contrary your honor this is such
[23:14]a wonderful dream what wonderful dream everyone is saying this is a
[23:20]bad dream what do you mean it's a wonderful dream your honor
[23:22]those guys just don't know what they're talking about no wonder you
[23:27]killed them all this is such a good dream like really what
[23:34]does it mean your honor you're gonna have such a great long
[23:40]life you're gonna outlive everyone in your family members you're gonna live
[23:47]for a look really long life so you're gonna enjoy your kingdom
[23:49]you're gonna enjoy your powers for a long long time Kings smiles
[23:57]and says Wow that is such a nice dream why were those
[24:02]people telling me otherwise good lord this guy is the best give
[24:08]him much reward honor and he's gonna be my personal dream interpreter
[24:12]from now on think about it did he say anything different but
[24:17]you see the presentation the first group and this is a true
[24:24]story by the way this was the true story it happened in
[24:26]history a while back the first group of interpreters how are they
[24:29]looking at it they were looking at the negative end of things
[24:33]that's you know you're gonna live alone for the rest of your
[24:35]life all your family member is gonna die and you'll live alone
[24:39]and what a negative way of thinking about things what did the
[24:41]other guy do exact same thing but he twisted it to the
[24:47]positive end he told him you know what you're gonna outlive your
[24:49]whole family members you're gonna enjoy your kingdom your power your monarchy
[24:54]it's almost the exact same thing he's all his family members I'm
[24:57]gonna die and he's gonna spend the rest of his life alone
[25:02]but he twisted it in a positive sense the way you present
[25:06]things make a big difference so it really makes us wonder and
[25:16]think about how we talk few years ago I actually gave a
[25:20]presentation about the five C's for effective communication five C's the first
[25:30]C those of you who may want to write them down feel
[25:37]free to do so the first C an effective communication is consideration
[25:44]consider your audience who are you on who are you speaking to
[25:49]what are you talking to if I am gonna talk about the
[25:57]atom to a group of kindergarten students am I gonna speak about
[26:03]the atom in a similar fashion like I am gonna speak about
[26:08]the atom to a group of graduate students in physics at the
[26:11]University of Stanford people who are doing the graduate degree in physics
[26:18]at the University of Stanford most of them are more likely to
[26:26]know what the basics of the atom is so I don't need
[26:28]to really invest much time introducing it talking about it giving examples
[26:32]and models of it that is something that is known to them
[26:38]they understand that language but when I'm talking to a bunch of
[26:43]five-year-olds that's where I have to speak in a very simple language
[26:46]I have to bring some models bring them get to them to
[26:52]see to play with things so the way I make that presentation
[26:54]if I make the kindergarten presentation at the University people will laugh
[26:59]at me and vice versa if I give that University talk to
[27:05]the kindergarteners they will just sleep throughout the whole presentation so you
[27:09]really have to consider your audience who are you giving a talk
[27:16]to consider the audience not only this consider how are you going
[27:21]to captivate their attention what are some ways of captivating the audience's
[27:29]attention one stories everyone like stories did you guys enjoy this folding
[27:38]teeth story in fact when you leave the lecture tonight and someone
[27:43]asks you what the shape of Sun I talked about the night
[27:46]like I don't remember but I really like that falling teeth story
[27:48]I don't know what he spoke about you know I wasn't paying
[27:52]attention but I was falling teeth in I like that story everyone
[27:55]loves stories we all enjoy stories stories are a good way to
[27:59]keep your audience even when you are actually doing a professional presentation
[28:05]let's say you're giving a talk about the financial things you can
[28:09]say as you're giving the talk you know the other day I
[28:11]was talking to my neighbor who's got some investments in mutual funds
[28:16]and so on so you just added now a story component to
[28:19]it you're not just talking directly about stocks and blah blah blah
[28:22]so that's that stuff could be boring but now you've added some
[28:27]interesting aspects so even when you give a scientific presentation I did
[28:31]my PhD on kidney stones and I remember once giving a talk
[28:35]to a bunch of scientists about kidney stones and I threw in
[28:38]a story a communication I had with another graduate student at the
[28:44]time whose father had kidney stones and so she was telling me
[28:47]a colleague of mine about how difficult how painful it was for
[28:51]him is to experience Gideon it's just a personal conversation but it
[28:55]attracts people's attention because now it becomes something but like a story
[28:59]it's not just that facts that etcetra etcetra etcetra so stories are
[29:05]really good ways second humor and I don't mean to be a
[29:10]clown while giving a presentation please don't come with a red nose
[29:17]and a bushy hair but rather add a sense of humor to
[29:19]your talk humor is wonderful but you got a calibrated okay not
[29:25]too much not too little season just like salt got to make
[29:28]sure that it's just right so a bunch a little bit of
[29:34]humor attracts people's attention and they really intrigue their curiosity towards you
[29:39]talk all these are factors to consider when you're giving presentation another
[29:43]thing to consider what am i doing right now the same movie
[29:50]I exactly make sure you develop eye contact with people you know
[29:59]sometimes when I'm sitting in some modulus on the pulpit on the
[30:03]member and there are some Husseini yet where I visit mashaallah they're
[30:09]big and they become populated quite quickly so people start sitting to
[30:12]the sides of the pulpit you know like underneath and this is
[30:17]a hypo fit every now and then I actually poke my head
[30:20]just familiar like yes and they'll grab it like it's just to
[30:27]remind this gentleman who's standing who's sitting right there in comfortably or
[30:30]maybe it's trying to sleep constantly thinking that you know the shifters
[30:35]way up there he's not gonna see me I'm just reminding him
[30:36]that by the way I'll keep an eye on you too so
[30:39]make sure you pay attention to what I'm saying I contact is
[30:43]extremely important as well when you're giving talks and therefore you've had
[30:47]cases where people just pick up their thing and they go like
[30:52]this and this is the talk I want to give about as
[30:53]this happen - but are you talking to me or you talked
[30:57]into your paper or if your your notepad here why are you
[31:01]talking to so talk to the people they want to see you
[31:03]talking to them I contact so these are some of the modes
[31:09]of consideration so first of all see for consideration you have to
[31:13]consider your audience second and consider what tactics are you going to
[31:17]use it's just like for example when I'm giving a talk -
[31:21]about the atom - the five year olds I got to consider
[31:23]what techniques am I gonna use to keep them entertained I have
[31:27]to think about this I can't just walk into the classroom I'm
[31:31]like you guys you know something really small you know that's Adam
[31:36]really yeah okay yeah and five minutes later they're all playing something
[31:43]whatever it is that they plane you got to consider how you're
[31:47]going to present your talk what are the effective means of presentation
[31:52]okay so that's consideration second you got to be critical and what
[31:59]I mean by critical is to have contact I'm critical of your
[32:02]content what content am i presenting you is it something good is
[32:09]it something useful is the audience gonna leave a talk tonight gaining
[32:15]something inshaallah tonight when you leave let me know if you've gained
[32:20]anything I'd be curious to know already tell me chef you know
[32:22]a wonderful talk but I really have no clue what you were
[32:26]talking about I would also like to know because it means I
[32:28]did not deliver the content that I want you two guys to
[32:33]understand in a pretty good way so be critical you have to
[32:36]be critical that I have some content you have some value at
[32:44]what you're delivering third C stands for concise be concise I mentioned
[32:50]this last night kind of briefly when we had the Q&A session
[32:54]we've had this case several times you know especially during Q&A sessions
[33:03]it's time for a Q&A we only have one hour or 30
[33:06]minutes and this person stands up holds the mic and starts talking
[33:12]for like ten minutes Prague's talks talks talk for 10 minutes and
[33:16]the Q&A is only for half an hour he's really thinking 1/3
[33:20]of it at the end of the ten minutes you say so
[33:22]brother what's your question but I don't have any questions I just
[33:28]wanted to mention this comment well thank you very much you just
[33:31]took a third of the whole Q&A session you don't even have
[33:40]a question to ask may Allah bless you have you had such
[33:44]cases some individuals who want to talk say something to you guys
[33:47]and they go on for like half an hour explaining a concept
[33:52]that could be explained in two minutes I mean it's understandable it's
[33:59]good I mean if you just want to vent when you're having
[34:01]an issue that's a different story altogether just want to vent to
[34:07]someone that's perfect it's a dear friend you start talking to someone
[34:10]and I don't mean the taxi driver is a dear friend to
[34:12]whom you should about your entire problems like some people do it's
[34:17]someone whom you actually trust then you just want to talk about
[34:20]you that's no problem I understand that part but when you're giving
[34:24]a talk when you're giving a presentation be concise get to the
[34:33]point and move on but you want to be concise but don't
[34:36]forget the next C which is being clear you want to be
[34:40]clearly don't be too concise to the point where people don't understand
[34:44]what you're talking about and have you guys had I don't know
[34:48]if you attended some talks in the past where the speaker starts
[34:53]saying some acronyms maybe like I have no clue what the exactly
[34:58]understand for make sure when you are ever using an acronym you
[35:04]define what that acronym stands for otherwise some people will just not
[35:09]understand what you're saying or even worse they just may feel that
[35:15]they're not intelligent enough because everyone else seems to know what you're
[35:19]talking about except me and that's why I don't really like this
[35:24]sentence as you know blah blah blah blah no I don't know
[35:31]that actually so should I feel stupid because I don't know it
[35:34]as you know I knew it I wouldn't beat up I think
[35:39]the stock altogether my brother I know why should I come a
[35:42]listen to you because I really know what you're saying as you
[35:48]know the sons distance from the earth is as you know kidney
[35:52]stones develop in this particular really you expect me to know how
[35:55]kidney stones develop these things sometimes are not obvious I mean yes
[36:03]to you because you're in that kind of mode for so long
[36:05]it just seems to you like second nature as you know but
[36:12]it's not as you know or it is known that it is
[36:14]known well if I don't know about it then what happens okay
[36:18]so you see brothers and sisters sometimes make sure what language you're
[36:22]using and the language is appropriate language things like as you no
[36:27]when there was a bunch like half of the room doesn't even
[36:31]know what you're talking about things like it has known that unless
[36:34]there's something quite obvious it is known that the Sun is gonna
[36:37]rise tomorrow yeah okay sure that's something I can live with that
[36:40]one as you know the Sun is gonna rise to more Nvidia
[36:44]well my bond by the way now that I know okay great
[36:49]most people in the room are aware it so be concise but
[36:51]be clear at the same time so the first see was you
[36:57]remember what it is or do you guys forget already what was
[37:01]the first seek consideration second see credit call you already forgetting that's
[37:07]why I told you to write that's right you're gonna forget are
[37:10]you using your cheat note yeah being critical critical of yourself critical
[37:18]of your content make sure that you have the right content the
[37:22]way that you've been presented being critical okay third C is for
[37:28]what concise for T is clear and the fifth C is the
[37:37]confident confident research shows that presidents politicians who present their talks confidently
[37:42]they are most likely to be believed than those who present their
[37:47]talks without confidence and you know what you have a president who
[37:54]is like a master at this he talks with full confidence I
[37:58]mean give credit where credit is due I have to give no
[38:02]I admit you know if there's one thing about this individual or
[38:04]my my praise if there is something remember its and I underlining
[38:09]it bolding it it would be his confidence at telling untruthful things
[38:18]he just stands behind the podium and says dear no this is
[38:21]the way we've done this and this and then you read in
[38:25]the New York Times the next day he just said twenty false
[38:27]statements yesterday and I'm like but people believe him because he just
[38:32]appeared so confident when he gives those statements so research actually shows
[38:38]those who speak with confidence they are more prone to be believed
[38:44]than those you may be talking you may have some great research
[38:46]great data you may be presenting something which is really good but
[38:50]if you're hesitant a little bit about it if you yeah and
[38:54]so on so if you sound skeptical it'll bit well the likelihood
[38:57]of people believing you will be much less so these are the
[39:03]five modes of effective effective communication presentation to people this is how
[39:08]you can make some really good presentations to people what the Quran
[39:12]may be suggesting with these letters at the beginning of the Quran
[39:18]those alphabets is we need to watch every word we say how
[39:21]we say it the content of our thoughts that's what makes a
[39:27]good speech a good talk I think some people are really excited
[39:32]about what I'm saying out there you know people are really impressed
[39:41]yeah thank you thank you very much so it's just a way
[39:44]that you present this it has to be really important it has
[39:49]to be really good so this is maybe a summary of those
[39:52]verses now of course there are many other interpretations in fact a
[39:57]llama bah bah bah BA in history of Amazon lists about 17
[40:00]different interpretations I've only touched up on three of them but given
[40:03]the sake of time this is enough for us to discuss so
[40:07]one interpretation about the importance of these alphabets is that they are
[40:12]God's wonder we don't really understand them and that should remind us
[40:16]of how insignificant we are sometimes the simplest of things keep us
[40:21]held back or keep us amazed the second interpretation is that this
[40:25]is God's wonder it's made up of all these alphabets this is
[40:30]what the Quran is made up of so go ahead and make
[40:31]a copy like the Quran using these alphabets the third interpretation is
[40:36]that you got to look upon and reflect upon every word rather
[40:41]every letter of what you're saying and this is what take us
[40:44]to the affective modes of communication or presentation where we need to
[40:50]remember those five C's for effective communication skills or presentation skills I'll
[40:55]conclude with the last couple points when you want to have a
[40:59]meaningful conversation with someone avoid complaining you know some people are just
[41:07]so pessimistic about life so how's it going oh gosh look at
[41:14]this weather is just so terrible good lord it's so hot these
[41:16]days and it's the month of ramadhan why couldn't this heat come
[41:19]to us after the month of ramadhan it like good lord man
[41:23]you know you want to hear to someone coughing like this just
[41:26]be optimistic a little bit if you have a problem just keep
[41:31]them to yourself people don't like to listen to your problems it's
[41:33]very sad reality people don't care about your problems now because they
[41:38]have enough problems of their own unless you have a dear friend
[41:43]of yours again who you want to vent out to that's understandable
[41:45]he or she will listen to what you're saying yeah just like
[41:51]I'm listening to what they're saying so you want to vent out
[41:54]that's fine that's your friend no problem do so but not to
[42:01]the general public general people okay second thing is avoid gossiping gossiping
[42:08]that is a habit that we need to grow out of did
[42:12]you know this girl you know did you notice her bag did
[42:15]she sees the bag that she was carrying today my gosh you
[42:21]know that bag is $300 Baba who cares okay no big deal
[42:24]move on babe how meaningful is that conversation okay so gossiping avoid
[42:30]gossiping nobody likes to listen to people talking about someone else in
[42:34]a negative way behind their back because guess what the minute I
[42:38]turn my back what's gonna happen to you to me this person
[42:41]is gonna talk about me in a similar way so avoid gossiping
[42:47]and engaging in gossiping especially in this holy month of Ramadan in
[42:51]this month we need to train ourselves to avoid such conversations but
[42:54]rather to have meaningful conversations things that will produce some meaning something
[43:02]will benefit us in dunya and in akhira that's what we really
[43:05]have to focus on inshallah tomorrow continue with our discussion about surat
[43:10]maryam and we will commence in the talk about the second ayah
[43:15]of the surah which speaks of prophet zechariah alayhis-salam of Zacharias and
[43:23]a prayer that he made asking Allah for something what is that
[43:28]prayer how did he make that prayer what did he ask for
[43:33]come back tomorrow and insha'Allah we'll have answers for you raise your
[43:37]hands into our brothers and sisters as it is the night of
[43:42]this holy month half of this holy month has gone by with
[43:45]only now facing the other half of this holy month so let
[43:50]us raise our hands and only Allah accept our deeds and our
[43:59]needs and our prayers I will be like him in a shape
[44:13]on a team Su Su Su ma Eugenia reaction would sue a
[44:37]La Mexicana so Allah Allah that is an old Anna Quran saying
[44:43]Allah Allah he gently move mean you know I don't mean I
[44:51]chef you are a Fiji me I mean you know and me
[44:52]not I love a mother suddenly what you are neither for the
[45:02]evo Zima believe sir yes sir what we seen a kill on
