Surah Mulk: A Surah of the Quran That Talks About God’s Absolute Sovereignty

Surah Mulk aka Tabaraka is the very first surah in juz 29 of the Quran. It begins by praising God who owns the universe and glorifies him using the word tabaraka which means someone who has much glory. It talks about different topics such as life and death, the harmony in the universe, and man’s ingratitude. This surah contains many rhetorical questions which provokes man’s contemplation and causes him to admit God’s blessings given to him. This surah ends by saying that God is the one who gives running water to man and stops water from sinking.
