[26:48]of our shuada, especially those who have sacrificed their lives protecting the
[26:55]shrines of the Z and the and for all of your please
[27:02]recite Alhamdulillah.
[28:14]Allah.
[28:34]We begin by thanking Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for granting us the
[28:40]opportunity to participate in these gatherings of from the beginning of Muharam
[28:43]till this Today there were many who were with us last year
[28:46]but not with us this year.
[28:48]And there are many amongst us this year who may not reach
[28:50]the next year.
[28:51]And there are many who aren't even with us this year but
[28:54]will be amongst us next year.
[28:55]This is the of Abdah Hussein.
[28:59]It will continue regardless of our presence.
[29:01]These days the divine breezes from Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[29:05]And our duty is to expose ourselves to this divine breeze by
[29:09]gathering, by discussing matters, by developing our souls, by cultivating our souls
[29:13]and connecting truly with the objectives that the Imam stood for and
[29:18]sacrificed his life for.
[29:20]Tonight is the eve of the 10th of Safar and the 30th
[29:24]eve after our we gathered in the first 10 days of Muharam.
[29:29]He cried over Abdah Husseinam and the reward for these days is
[29:37]great.
[29:33]In we have imam saying if you are to cry over anything
[29:47]then cry over Hussein for for verily Hussein was killed and slaughtered
[29:54]in a manner in which a ram is slaughtered.
[30:12]Shabib.
[30:12]If you cry over Hussein to the extent that your tears fall
[30:18]down your cheeks, Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will forgive all of your
[30:21]sins.
[30:22]Whether big, whether little, whether much, whether small, If you wish to
[30:38]be with us in those lofty stations of Jenna, then be grieved
[30:43]in our grief and be happy in our happiness and upon you
[30:46]is our will.
[30:48]This love that you have for the prophet and his family that
[30:50]manifests through these tears and through these acts of devotion and through
[30:54]these acts of service.
[30:57]They all have the power to intercede you for you in the
[30:59]hereafter.
[31:00]But before we dive into the actual topic, something comes to mind.
[31:03]Many of you have heard of the name of one of our
[31:07]greats, one of our absolute great.
[31:09]His contributions are immense.
[31:10]Um, a person who reaches the station of at the age of
[31:18]23.
[31:17]He says, one of our great scholars, he says that one day
[31:21]I was standing in the shrine of And all of a sudden
[31:31]I see the great Ayat Javad and Si Hamadani enter into the
[31:33]shrine.
[31:33]He was his elder 20 21 years older than him.
[31:37]One of our greats as well.
[31:39]Those who know the names that I'm referring to, they know who
[31:43]I'm speaking about.
[31:42]He says, "I see him enter into the shrine.
[31:45]We stand by the grave of Amir.
[31:47]He starts speaking about a few matters and all of a sudden
[31:53]I see that Jawadani's view is going somewhere else.
[31:54]His attention has gone somewhere else.
[31:57]So I see that I realize this is a point of his
[32:00]mash.
[32:00]So I leave him.
[32:02]I go to the side.
[32:02]I start praying.
[32:04]As soon as I finish the salat, he joins me again and
[32:08]he says that I've just witnessed a scene from the day of
[32:10]judgment and I saw that one of the lovers of the B
[32:15]was being punished.
[32:16]A man was being punished.
[32:16]But he had one good thing about him.
[32:19]He used to love the B a lot.
[32:20]And how he used to manifest this love was that whenever he
[32:26]used to see this of Abbas, he would come forward and he
[32:28]was kissed this out of love for the B and he was
[32:33]being punished because of his sins.
[32:34]And all of a sudden he sees Abah Abdaham pass from that
[32:39]area.
[32:40]And as soon as he sees Aba Abdah passing, he calls out,
[32:43]"Yeah, Aba Abdah, I truly loved you in this world." As soon
[32:47]as Aba Abdullah sees him, he comes forward.
[32:49]He asks the angel, he says, "Give me his book of deeds."
[32:51]They give him the book of deeds.
[32:52]And Aba Abdullah takes out a pen.
[32:54]And with his pen, he writes one sentence in that book of
[32:58]deeds.
[32:58]And all of a sudden, the angels stop punishing him and they
[33:02]leave.
[33:03]So he says, "I asked what did Im Hussein write with his
[33:08]pen?" He said the imam wrote one sentence and he wrote, "Oh
[33:13]the one who changes the evil deeds into good deeds, forgive this
[33:19]man." This is what the B have given to us.
[33:22]Now I want to pause and ask ourselves, ask myself and ask
[33:25]everyone what have we given back to Imam Hussein?
[33:28]What is our contribution to Imam Hussein Alisam?
[33:31]What did the Imam expect from us?
[33:33]What are our duties and responsibilities?
[33:36]We must understand one thing that with every single mission and every
[33:41]single movement indivi including the mission of Imam individuals can be split
[33:45]into three broad categories.
[33:45]The first category of those individuals who appreciate from afar but they
[33:49]don't get involved.
[33:51]The second group of individuals who appreciate from afar they get involved
[33:53]but only for a few days.
[33:56]And the third group of individuals they don't just appreciate they don't
[33:59]just get involved but they live and they own the mission of
[34:02]Imam Alisam.
[34:03]Which category do we fall into?
[34:05]Do we fall into the second category where we gather for Imam
[34:08]Hussein Alisam for two months and eight days and cry over IM
[34:12]Hussein Alisam and that's it and in the remaining part of the
[34:15]year we don't have any connection with the objectives and the values
[34:20]that the imam stood for where are we as a community where
[34:22]are we as individuals we honor the words of Imusam a person
[34:28]like me not me a person like me cannot do of a
[34:32]person like him but we invite the modern day and the mala
[34:37]of the firs into our own centers sometimes without any audacity without
[34:41]any embarrassment.
[34:40]We say that the imam rose for but he's can be seen
[34:48]nowhere in our lives because we prefer to remain in our comfort
[34:51]zones.
[34:52]We prefer to remain neutral.
[34:52]We say that the im rose for but an understanding of on
[34:59]a theoretical level on a practical level can be seen nowhere in
[35:02]our lives.
[35:03]We praise those individuals who made the effort to reach the Imam
[35:06]of their time in the most difficult of circumstances like and we
[35:12]condemn those individuals who con who abandon the Imam of their time.
[35:16]But what effort have we made to reach the imam of our
[35:20]time?
[35:18]We we remember the night of our where the imam asked one
[35:23]more night to do what?
[35:23]To recite the holy Quran.
[35:25]But when was the last time we picked up and recited the
[35:27]holy Quran?
[35:28]We say that the companions of the Imam sacrificed themselves so that
[35:33]the Imam could pray.
[35:35]Abdullah taking arrows in his face and his eyes so that the
[35:40]Imam could pray.
[35:39]But where is salat in our lives?
[35:43]We delay salat and delay salat as if there is no answer
[35:46]to this.
[35:47]We cry over that time when the evil men would look at
[35:53]the woman folk of the B with lustful eyes.
[35:53]But we as men would have no problem looking at other women
[35:58]with lustful eyes.
[35:58]We cry over that time that the Imam used to say asham
[36:02]asham asham and how the hijab was snatched from the woman of
[36:04]the woman folk of the B.
[36:08]But we'll have no problems abandoning our hijab and in attending and
[36:12]organizing mixed gathering events.
[36:13]This is our situation.
[36:14]Where are we?
[36:16]Why does it feel that we're so close yet so distant?
[36:18]We must understand one thing.
[36:21]When the Quran says Shaitan is your open enemy, then what does
[36:24]that mean?
[36:25]That means that you understand and you understand and take heed of
[36:28]the strategies and the tactics of Shan.
[36:30]What does Shayan do first?
[36:31]He stops you from the good action itself.
[36:33]After salat, you're contemplating should I do should I not do ti
[36:37]the very first effort of Shayan would be to stop you from
[36:41]doing but sometimes when you defeat Shayan and you say that no
[36:43]I will do then Shayan resorts to his second tactic and what
[36:46]does he do?
[36:48]lets you perform the good deed but he strips you from the
[36:52]spirit and the soul of that good deed he will distract you
[36:55]similarly with the ofdam he knows that this love is too strong
[37:05]the holy prophet had said verily in relation to the killing of
[37:12]hussein there exists a heat in the hearts of the that shall
[37:14]never subside he knows that this love is too strong they won't
[37:19]stop they will gather they will cry over Husseinam so what does
[37:21]he do next strip them of the soul and the spirit of
[37:26]this good deed let them begin focusing on who has the most
[37:28]views and who has the most attendees and who has the most
[37:33]religious stars and celebrities attend their males this is what has happened
[37:38]and imagine this imagine an independent evaluator coming into our center right
[37:43]now he has no cultural attachments he has no emotional attachments He
[37:47]belongs he does not even belong to our madhab.
[37:49]He has he enters into the majist.
[37:51]He sees the black black flags.
[37:53]He sees the black clothes.
[37:53]He sees the tears.
[37:56]He hears the echoes of yahussein.
[37:58]Yahus in every single corner.
[37:59]He says beautiful.
[38:01]And then he asks us, what are you doing exactly?
[38:02]So we say to him, we're commemorating and crying over the tragedy
[38:06]of our third imam who was killed by the Yazid of his
[38:12]time for standing up against tyranny.
[38:12]Says okay.
[38:14]He says, "We just heard in the lecture right now that you
[38:17]believe that every single time has an imam.
[38:20]Every single era has an imam.
[38:21]So who's the who's the imam of your time?" We say, "Yes,
[38:26]he's in occultation at this moment in time.
[38:28]Prophesies by the prophet, prophesies by the and he will return at
[38:32]the end of times to establish justice.
[38:34]To establish peace, establish peace." So then he looks at us and
[38:40]he says that okay very good.
[38:41]Are you doing anything to prepare for him?
[38:44]Are you creating a community that is ready to receive him?
[38:47]We hesitate and he's a bit confused now.
[38:53]And then he says, okay, you cursed the Yazid of 1400 years
[38:55]ago.
[38:56]Naturally, when the Imm of your time rises, he will face opposition.
[39:00]Have you recognized and identified or are opposing the Yazid of your
[39:05]time?
[39:05]Have you warned your children against them?
[39:08]Have you identified them?
[39:09]Silence.
[39:10]So he guess says, "Let me get this straight.
[39:13]Are we are you mourning and crying over the failures of the
[39:16]people back then but repeating that failure right now?
[39:21]And he's not mocking us.
[39:22]He's not condemning us.
[39:24]He's just holding up a mirror.
[39:25]And in that mirror, we see the uncomfortable truth and the reality
[39:28]that the difference or the distance between our and the of the
[39:33]imits and the spirit behind those rituals.
[39:42]So what was Kbala meant to do for us?
[39:42]And here the great say enters into the scene.
[39:47]Never let his memory leave your hearts.
[39:51]He says is what creates the generations that are capable of preparing
[39:58]for the Imam of the time.
[39:59]He says Karbala is what creates the generations that are ready to
[40:03]support and assist the Imam of the time in establishing peace in
[40:07]establishing justice in eradicating oppression and injustice.
[40:13]Hence there must be a connection between our and the of the
[40:16]imam.
[40:17]Now we take it a level higher.
[40:18]The question is why is it that after gathering for 20 30
[40:24]40 plus years and attending these malis that this connection between our
[40:29]and the of the imam has not yet been established within our
[40:32]centers.
[40:33]Why not?
[40:35]Why hasn't that mobilization yet happened?
[40:37]There are many answers to this question but all answers can be
[40:43]stemmed under one overarching answer and that is this.
[40:45]Either we haven't understood our correctly or either we haven't understood the
[40:51]of the imam correctly or either we haven't understood both correctly.
[40:55]What is our understanding of ash?
[40:58]Here individuals fall into one of two narratives.
[41:01]One of two categories.
[41:02]Most individuals are in the first category.
[41:06]A very few amount of people are in the second category and
[41:10]the second categories.
[41:10]The second narrative is what we need to reach.
[41:15]The first narrative views ash as a tragedy only.
[41:18]It is the greatest tragedy but they view it as a tragedy
[41:20]only.
[41:21]It has the mercy.
[41:24]It has the M.
[41:24]It has the majus and all of this is absolutely necessary.
[41:27]This is our red line.
[41:28]May we be sacrificed for this of Imam Alisam.
[41:31]This is our red line.
[41:34]But it stops there.
[41:35]They don't realize that just as rain falls and soften the earth
[41:37]softens the earth.
[41:39]These tears were meant to fall and soften our heart and prepare
[41:42]our heart and cleanse our heart of all of these idols of
[41:47]fear and remaining in our comfort zones and public opinion and ego
[41:50]and what other people think.
[41:52]It was meant to cleanse our heart of all of these idols
[41:56]so that it can prepare our heart for those Husseini principles to
[41:59]be established and take root from within.
[42:02]This was the purpose of the first narrative and this is where
[42:07]most of us have remained.
[42:08]We have only remained in the maj and we have to continue
[42:12]this.
[42:13]It has to absolutely has to continue.
[42:16]This is how our madhab has actually survived.
[42:17]But they forget that there's a second narrative as well.
[42:21]This narrative doesn't reject the first narrative.
[42:24]It embraces it and it takes it forward.
[42:27]It uses it and it takes it forward.
[42:29]It says that if your tears for Abdah Hussein are truly true,
[42:35]then you live like Hussein.
[42:36]If you curse the Yazid of 1400 years ago, then you identify
[42:41]and oppose the Yazid of today as well so that you can
[42:43]help the Imam of your time.
[42:45]But when we remain in the first narrative, we don't even realize
[42:48]that there's a second narrative to reach.
[42:50]Then a few very dangerous consequences begin to take place.
[42:53]A person can live in an illusion sit here on the member
[42:58]of Im Hussein, recite the of Ali and say how he was
[43:03]killed by the of 1400 years ago.
[43:05]But this same person will smile and take photos and act peacefully
[43:08]with individuals who I justify the killing of 17,000 children in Gaza
[43:14]for example sometimes even in the libas of scholars sometimes and I
[43:19]individual can oppose and curse Ib ziad and zash we curse ib
[43:22]ziad but this individual who enabled the actions of yazid 1400 years
[43:25]ago but the same individual have no problem inviting the current day
[43:30]Iban ziads into our centers individuals who enable the actions of our
[43:35]times yazids supplying with supplying them with F-35 parts or whatever we'll
[43:38]have no problem because we haven't truly understood Ashur correctly and because
[43:43]we haven't understood Ashur correctly and because those Husini principles haven't yet
[43:48]been established within our hearts then we don't see the world with
[43:52]with the eyes that we need to see the world with and
[43:54]we don't understand and we don't find it within our hearts the
[43:58]need and the urgency to prepare for the reappearance of the imam
[44:01]of our time and what are the times times we're living in.
[44:05]The says, "Whoever recognizes the vicissitude of time, the way the days
[44:14]are passing, they won't be heedless of preparation." What are the times
[44:17]we're living in?
[44:18]We've mentioned in previous lectures, we don't have time to go through
[44:22]all of it today.
[44:21]If you gather those that start with that there will come a
[44:27]time for my um nothing will remain from Islam except its name.
[44:30]Nothing will remain from the Quran except its calligraphy.
[44:34]The actions of the Muslims will show that they're the furthest away
[44:38]from Islam.
[44:38]Mosques will be built beautifully, but they'll be empty of guidance, etc.,
[44:41]etc., etc.
[44:43]Every single thing we're seeing in our times and especially within the
[44:46]last two years, it's not the question that we ask, what have
[44:50]we seen in the last two years?
[44:52]The question is, what haven't we seen in the last two years?
[44:54]Fathers dropping their children to the hospital, returning after half an hour.
[44:58]They don't find their child.
[45:00]They don't find the doctor.
[45:02]They don't find the hospital.
[45:02]Everything gone.
[45:04]Mothers writing the names of their children onto their limbs so that
[45:07]if they if a bomb falls in their body pieces are scattered,
[45:10]they're able to identify their children.
[45:13]Children sleeping on the graves of their parents in the middle of
[45:17]the night because there is no other place to go.
[45:18]The next day they return, the graveyard is not even there because
[45:22]it's been bombed.
[45:22]The peak of oppression we're seeing.
[45:24]But what urgency has it prepared within our hearts to truly say
[45:30]The trials have become great.
[45:33]We shouldn't just recite so that people can stand up for z
[45:37]hope has been cut off.
[45:40]We say it with our tongues, but do we truly truly mean
[45:42]it?
[45:45]And especially with regards to our Shia leadership.
[45:48]This is not a joke, brothers and sisters.
[45:51]The personalities that we've lost in the last two years and the
[45:56]last few years are not a joke.
[45:56]Some of them so pure, so pure that number one if they
[46:00]were a little bit younger and number two they were killed next
[46:02]to the Kaa instead of their place of martyrdom they were so
[46:07]pure that you could have misidentified them as so pure personalities we
[46:12]have lost we need to recognize the times we're living in and
[46:15]I'm speaking to an educated crowd I'm sure you won't misunderstand what
[46:19]I'm trying to say here many of you have heard of the
[46:23]name of Hassan Hassan Ami one of our great scholars.
[46:28]He passed away a few years ago.
[46:29]A group of individuals who are experts in matters relating to Mahawi,
[46:34]matters relating to Imam Zam.
[46:35]They visit him many years ago and they start speaking to him
[46:41]about matters relating to Imam and Zaman.
[46:42]And he's listening and listening and listening and then he turns towards
[46:48]them.
[46:47]He says, "What if I tell you that the reappearance of the
[46:50]Imam has already happened?
[46:51]What will you say?" They're baffled.
[46:53]They're shocked.
[46:54]What is he talking about?
[46:55]They ask him to explain.
[46:57]He says, "Understand that if the reappearance of the imam happens all
[47:03]of a sudden just like that human society, human society doesn't have
[47:07]the capacity to bear such an big big influx of change and
[47:09]power and light.
[47:11]The same way it doesn't have the capacity to bear the sun
[47:13]coming out all of a sudden.
[47:17]The wisdom of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala necessitates that the reappearance of
[47:19]the imam happens gradually.
[47:22]The same way his happened gradually.
[47:24]You look at the lives of the ninth imam, the 10th IM,
[47:27]the 11th Imam.
[47:29]Slowly slowly their interaction with the people became less and less and
[47:33]less to prepare them for the re for the of the 12th
[47:39]im.
[47:40]And even that happened in two stages.
[47:42]The andra.
[47:41]He says the same way that there was and there will be
[47:48]and also has a similar opinion.
[47:54]He says that there will be and then says he says based
[47:58]on a few things which I can't say from the member right
[48:01]now I'll be in a lot of trouble and your center will
[48:02]be in trouble as well but he says that based on a
[48:06]few things that we have witnessed we can say with a lot
[48:11]of confidence that the of the im has already taken place and
[48:17]now we're awaiting the of the im this is I forgot to
[48:21]say this is someone whom says it's one of his students Hassan
[48:28]for whom says no one recognizes Hassan except Im this is he
[48:33]say he says that of the im has already taken place look
[48:38]at the name of Imman it's become more mash in the world
[48:40]nowadays more than ever before we have the people from the previous
[48:46]generations here as well you will attest to the fact that the
[48:48]name of Imam Zaman was not mentioned as much before as it
[48:52]is being done today.
[48:53]This is the reality of the times we're living in.
[48:57]And between this minor reappearance of the Imam and the major reappearance
[49:01]of the Imam, a severe filtering process will take place that has
[49:06]been prophesized in our a filtering process that took place before Ash
[49:11]and a filtering process that will take before take place before the
[49:15]of the imam.
[49:17]When the Imam left Medina, many individuals were with the Imam.
[49:20]But slowly slowly as he got closer and closer to the holy
[49:22]land of Kabala, many people became filtered out and filtered out and
[49:26]filtered out.
[49:27]Sometimes due to fear, sometimes due to the love of this world,
[49:29]sometimes due to reputation and everything, they got filtered and filtered and
[49:35]filtered.
[49:36]And the say that before the reappearance of the Imam there will
[49:41]be an extreme filtering process.
[49:48]By God you'll be tested and you'll be purged.
[49:51]By God you'll be flown from right to left.
[49:55]The riad say that the calamities in a zaman would be such
[49:58]would be people would be shaken by calamities in such a manner
[50:03]the way a ship is tossed from right to left in the
[50:05]waves of a stormy sea.
[50:13]Until no one remains on this pure affair of except the few
[50:18]and the fewest.
[50:25]By God, our reappearance will never take place, never ever take place.
[50:31]Our will never take place until you've been filtered and filtered and
[50:37]filtered.
[50:36]And the Imm said it three times and then he mentioned the
[50:41]purpose behind the filtering process.
[50:42]He said until Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala removes the filth the impure
[50:50]and lets the pure remain this is the filtering process that will
[50:54]take place before the reappearance of the imam and if you go
[50:56]back in the time of ash if you go back look remember
[51:01]we sometimes don't think about these things perhaps you haven't listened to
[51:06]it in such a manner on the night of ashur when everyone
[51:08]had been filtered and the pure of the pure had remained on
[51:11]the night of what did the imam do?
[51:14]He gathered everyone in the tent.
[51:15]It's the darkness of the night.
[51:17]He says he says to everyone that I'm taking my away from
[51:20]you.
[51:21]You can go.
[51:22]Take the night as a cover.
[51:23]Escape and go thereafter me.
[51:27]You can go and for to allow you to go.
[51:29]I'm going to switch off the candle.
[51:31]Let it be even more darker so that you don't feel embarrassed.
[51:33]The imam switches off the candle for a little while.
[51:37]And after a few moments, he switches on the candle again.
[51:38]And what does he see?
[51:41]He sees that every single one of them firmly standing in their
[51:44]own places.
[51:45]Not a single one of them have moved.
[51:48]And then the says that Abbasam is the first one to speak
[51:51]and what he said has been mentioned.
[51:52]And then Muslim etc etc.
[51:56]But have you ever thought to yourself what does this switching of
[52:00]the candle and this darkness symbolize?
[52:02]It symbolizes the of the imam.
[52:07]They couldn't see the imam of their time at that particular point
[52:09]in time but they remained in a state of fulfilling their duties
[52:13]and responsibilities.
[52:15]These were those individuals who were tested and purged and they successfully
[52:20]reached the end and they were able to sacrifice themselves for the
[52:24]imam of their time.
[52:26]And we return back to that verse that we began with.
[52:29]Allah subhanana wa ta'ala says in the holy Quran Do you think,
[52:39]do you suppose, do you just have this understanding of this thought
[52:43]that you'll just enter into heaven, but you won't be made to
[52:47]go through that which those people who came before you were made
[52:51]to go through?
[52:54]What were they made to go through, ya Allah?
[52:57]They were made to go through distress and stress.
[53:03]says are those difficulties and hardships that are external to an individual
[53:09]outside your property, your fame, your character are those difficulties that are
[53:19]relating to one's own self, your life wounds etc.
[53:21]And they were shaken violently in such a manner to such an
[53:27]extent that the prophet amongst them until the prophet that was amongst
[53:34]them and those who had iman with the prophet they cried out
[53:37]to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and they said where is the help
[53:41]of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and for Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala delivers
[53:46]his response Allah verily the help of Allah subhanahaala is extremely close
[53:54]is very close that the people of the time of Imam Hussein
[53:57]truly supposedly think suppose to themselves that they could just make claims
[54:03]of love to the holy prophet and his household but they won't
[54:09]be tested.
[54:08]Did the do the people at this moment in time, me and
[54:12]you, those people at the time of the Imam of our time,
[54:16]do we genuinely think that we can make claims of love and
[54:19]loyalty to the prophet and his household, but we won't be tested?
[54:23]If yes, we haven't understood that this path is a path of
[54:28]sacrifice, this path is a path of courage, this path is a
[54:30]path of giving up everything.
[54:33]What did the Imam say when he was leaving Medina?
[54:37]He delivers avah and then he says he says whoever is ready
[54:52]to sacrifice his for us.
[54:53]What does moj mean?
[54:57]The same word has been used in that final of we say
[55:03]that Hussein muj is the plural of mujah.
[55:09]Moja is the blood that is deep within your heart.
[55:11]your lifeblood.
[55:12]That when a blood begins to flow and flow and flow, when
[55:17]an individual is dying, that final blood that comes out, the core
[55:22]of your core, that lifeblood is called in Arabic.
[55:26]Whoever is ready to sacrifice his for us and his soul is
[55:37]firmly resolved upon meeting Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[55:39]Then let him set out with us inshallah.
[55:44]The Imam says, "For verily I am setting out in the morning
[55:47]inshallah." Allah.
[55:52]This was the call of Abah Abdullah 1400 years ago.
[55:58]Similarly, the im of our time may be calling out whoever is
[56:03]ready to sacrifice his for us and he is firmly resolved upon
[56:12]meeting Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala then let him set out with me.
[56:17]What did the imam say?
[56:19]Inshallah.
[56:19]And the imam must be saying inshallah.
[56:25]Verily I will be re reappearing soon.
[56:32]This is imm.
[56:41]But many of us, many of us will genuinely say, and they
[56:45]say it with a lot of sincerity, and they genuinely mean it,
[56:48]and they're probably correct, that if a war was to take place
[56:52]right now, right now, they would sacrifice themselves and they genuinely would.
[56:55]Then why doesn't the imam come?
[56:58]Why doesn't the imam come?
[57:01]I'll ask these individuals, including myself, one question.
[57:03]What's easier, to sacrifice your life or to sacrifice your time?
[57:06]Sacrificing your time.
[57:08]How much time have you given for the imam of your time?
[57:11]Where is he in your list of priorities during your day?
[57:15]Is he level five, level six, level 15, level 20?
[57:20]Where is he?
[57:22]How many times do you think of him in a day?
[57:25]If you think of the IM said it before in another lecture,
[57:27]if you think of the imam, 2 minutes pure towards the imam,
[57:31]two minutes every single day, it accounts for 0.14% of the entire
[57:36]day.
[57:36]Not even 1%.
[57:35]Most of us don't even do this pure 2 minutes of towards
[57:39]the imam of our time.
[57:40]For an individual who doesn't even do this much, what makes me
[57:45]think that I'm worthy to sacrifice my blood on this path?
[57:48]This blood that joins with the caravan of Im Hussein.
[57:51]This blood of Im Hussein Alisam that connects with the banner of
[57:54]Im Z.
[57:56]This blood is some pure blood.
[57:58]It's not any sort of blood.
[58:01]Just don't think that any person can willy-nilly just come and sacrifice
[58:04]themsself for the imam of their time.
[58:07]It requires effort.
[58:07]It requires perseverance.
[58:09]It requires thought.
[58:09]When was the last time I sat and spoke with my family
[58:13]about the reappearance of the Imam?
[58:14]What are due?
[58:14]What are our duties?
[58:16]What are our responsibilities?
[58:17]When was the last time I spoke with my spouse about the
[58:20]Imam of my time?
[58:21]When was the last time I spoke with my children on the
[58:24]imam of my time?
[58:24]We need to up our game as individuals who claim to be
[58:29]followers in the imam of the imam of our time.
[58:32]So, this lecture would be somewhat incomplete.
[58:34]Namast is approaching very very soon and I don't have much time.
[58:37]It would be somewhat incomplete if we didn't discuss some practical things.
[58:41]How can we get closer to the imam of our time?
[58:45]And I wanted to split this discussion into an individual level and
[58:48]a community- based level.
[58:52]But I don't have time for that.
[58:54]So we'll skip the individual level now.
[58:56]But I'll speak about a few things very quickly byite-size level by
[58:59]bite-siz form so that we can apply it in an individual level,
[59:02]family level, community level as well.
[59:05]We must ask ourselves as a community as a community where are
[59:12]we talking to Wessex Jamaat right now and whoever is listening online
[59:16]applying it to your own community where are we as a community
[59:21]in preparing for the imam of our time as a community how
[59:23]closer are you in your preparation for the imam of your time
[59:26]today than you were 5 years ago what are the metrics that
[59:32]you need to follow and track why is it that we're able
[59:34]to track our progress in every other thing, everything else.
[59:39]We have KPIs for everything else apart from preparing for the imam
[59:44]of our time.
[59:43]Why?
[59:46]Where are we as a community?
[59:50]Till when will we keep Yu Zah waiting?
[59:53]Till when will we keep the blood of Imam Hussein Alisam unvenged?
[59:57]When?
[59:58]Till when will we continue crying for Imam Hussein Alisam but say
[60:02]that there's no need to prepare for the Imam of our time?
[60:05]When when will you actually look at yourself and say that I'm
[60:09]part of this mission?
[60:12]If someone joins a company, if someone joins a companies, you have
[60:17]appraisal reviews every now and then.
[60:19]What is your progress?
[60:21]What is your progress?
[60:21]What is your progress?
[60:23]Do you think the imam of time must not be thinking about
[60:25]us and saying where have they progressed in their understanding?
[60:27]What have they done for me?
[60:29]Where is that mobilization that has taken place?
[60:30]On a physical level, you need physical strength as well, spiritual level.
[60:37]Where are we for this?
[60:37]Many of you listen to his lectures.
[60:40]He has a book called in Arabic is called uh the culture
[60:46]of awaiting.
[60:48]He outlines a beautiful model and he splits in into three broad
[60:51]categories.
[60:52]He says the very first level of invar is in the of
[60:58]the common people of the lay people.
[61:01]The second is the of the people of knowledge.
[61:03]And the third is in the of the people of most of
[61:10]us including myself we have to admit we're in in most people
[61:16]suffer or nearly all any anyone who's inalam they suffer from a
[61:19]disease called they look at things with a very superficial view with
[61:25]a very shallow view.
[61:26]They don't ask themselves why, how, how will the reappearance take place.
[61:30]What will take place?
[61:32]They just think that the Imam will come, you know, do a
[61:33]wizard wander, whatever, and the reappearance of the Imam will take place.
[61:36]Or they think that the companions of the Imam who will actually
[61:40]be there, they're living a separate life to us.
[61:43]We can't we can't reach that life.
[61:44]Or they have an illusion thinking that for example, the biggest illusion
[61:49]in is this.
[61:49]They think that for the reappearance of the Imam to take place,
[61:53]you just have to be tired of injustice and oppression without having
[61:58]a readiness to actually accept justice itself.
[62:00]This is one of the biggest examples of this is they suffer
[62:06]from another they suffer from a very superficial shallow way of looking
[62:10]at things.
[62:10]They won't ask themselves why.
[62:11]They won't apply their they won't research.
[62:13]They won't do anything.
[62:14]Most of our communities, truthfully speaking, me included, went into at this
[62:19]moment in time.
[62:21]And for the reappearance of the Imam to take place, because the
[62:24]reappearance of the imam is nothing but a higher manifestation of you
[62:28]have to quickly move into which is the second stage.
[62:35]In he says there are five stages.
[62:36]Every community must have this written down maybe stuck on the wall
[62:40]so that we can identify where are we as a community.
[62:43]The very first stage of as is an objection to the current
[62:53]situation.
[62:52]If you don't object to the current situation, it doesn't make sense
[62:57]for you to be awaiting a better situation.
[62:58]How strong is your objection to the current situation?
[63:02]When did your objection to the current situation begin?
[63:05]On the 7th of October.
[63:06]After the 7th of October.
[63:09]Where was your objection to the current situation before then?
[63:12]And since then, how permanent has it become or has it become
[63:15]a little bit temporary now?
[63:17]Certain individuals come to and they say we've heard and read in
[63:22]our that the reappearance of the imam will only happen when the
[63:26]world is filled with injustice and oppression.
[63:29]Injustice and oppression.
[63:30]Filled with injust our question to you is this.
[63:34]Is it possible for the reappearance of the imam to take place
[63:38]before the world is filled with oppression and injustice?
[63:40]looks at them and he says yes on one condition that you
[63:44]pray for the reappearance of the Imam with an absolute sense of
[63:50]distress and then the reappearance of the Imam can take place but
[63:53]we haven't reached that spiritual maturity to pray for the reappearance of
[63:56]the Imam with an absolute sense of distress and he continues and
[63:59]he says that if they don't then something very dangerous will happen
[64:03]that the difficulties and the oppressions that are happening to the oppressed
[64:06]people of this world will very soon come upon these individuals so
[64:11]that They understand the need for the dur of the of Allah
[64:14]subhanahu wa'ta'ala.
[64:15]And this objection to the current situation I beg you do not
[64:20]make it only and fat only to your individual lives.
[64:24]Object to the current situation as a community as well.
[64:26]Then only you'll be liable for preparing for the reappearance of the
[64:28]imam.
[64:30]Second stage an understanding of the desired situation.
[64:35]The third stage, a belief and a hope in being able to
[64:42]achieve that desired situation.
[64:44]If I ask most people in this community, what is the desired
[64:47]situation?
[64:47]What are we trying to reach?
[64:49]Well, most people struggle to answer or not.
[64:52]The fourth stage, after you have a belief and a hope, then
[64:58]you have to have a yearning to be able to reach that
[65:03]desired situation.
[65:05]And then the fifth stage, then only you will be able to
[65:09]act for the achievement of that desired situation.
[65:11]We're failing in the objection to the current situation.
[65:14]We don't have a desire.
[65:15]We don't have an understanding of the desired situation.
[65:17]As a result, the third and the fourth stages cannot be developed
[65:20]and then we're thinking and living in an illusion thinking that we're
[65:24]preparing for the reappearance of the im.
[65:26]This is the reality of the situation that we're in.
[65:30]And we must move forward and forward and forward based on knowledge
[65:34]because a lot of blood has been given on this path.
[65:39]Big big sacrifices have been given on this path.
[65:41]We come to Karbala and before we reach Karbala I thought a
[65:47]lot.
[65:48]I said how do I begin the mass of say the sakina
[65:52]tonight?
[65:53]How how where do I begin from?
[65:54]I heard the scholar say this someone I know personally.
[66:00]He says I can never forget that one of before the month
[66:08]of Muaram beginning he recites a few of Abdah Hussein and then
[66:13]he says that whoever wishes to see the day of Ash 1400
[66:19]years ago there is a particular that they can perform and they
[66:23]will be able to see Kbal.
[66:24]He says that a few days later, a few a little while
[66:28]later, many of from our friends, we saw a friend that wasn't
[66:31]present in our lessons anymore.
[66:34]I asked about him and he said that this person doesn't leave
[66:39]his home anymore.
[66:39]So, I went to visit him in his home and we found
[66:43]out that this was one of those individuals who took and uh
[66:48]got this from and since then he doesn't leave his house anymore.
[66:52]So, he says, "I went to his house.
[66:53]his son opened the door and I told him that I want
[66:57]to visit.
[66:58]He says he doesn't accept any visitors anymore.
[66:59]So I told him tell him that it's me who has come.
[67:02]He goes upstairs and he says that my father has given permission.
[67:07]He says I went upstairs and I saw a strange scene.
[67:08]I saw that he was sitting on the musah the prayer mat.
[67:13]His eyes were red.
[67:14]His hair was disheveled and he was crying.
[67:20]I went and I held held his ne knees and I asked
[67:24]about him.
[67:23]I said what has happened to you?
[67:26]He said to me one thing and he asked me can anyone
[67:32]remain alive after seeing Ashur this was one of his questions and
[67:37]said he said they'll be able to see everything that took place
[67:39]on the day of Ash but they won't be able to see
[67:42]one thing and that one thing is this that they won't be
[67:44]able to see Im Hussein Alisam falling from the horse to the
[67:47]floor.
[67:47]This is something that the children of the B saw with their
[67:53]own eyes.
[67:51]This is something that Zanab saw with her own eyes.
[67:56]My question is this that if this was the effect of seeing
[67:59]ashur on a normal lover of the B then what was the
[68:04]state of seeing ash on the heart of say what was the
[68:10]condition of say's heart?
[68:10]What didn't she see on the day of Ashur?
[68:13]She must have seen the broken pieces of the body of Kim.
[68:17]She must have seen that spear in the chest of Ali Akbar.
[68:21]She must have seen that arrow in the neck of Ali Aar.
[68:23]She must have seen the seed arms of Abbas.
[68:27]She must have seen the trampling of the body of Abdah Hussein.
[68:32]This is what say saw on the day of Ash and then
[68:37]the caravan of Aba Abdullah leaves Kabalah.
[68:40]They enter into Kufa and then from Kufa 10 days ago they
[68:46]enter into Sham.
[68:45]Many of you are going for remember us in your duas.
[68:50]From Naj to Karbala it is 80 km.
[68:52]80 km.
[68:54]By the time you reach Kbala your legs are tired.
[68:56]There's pain.
[68:57]There's no strength in your legs.
[68:59]From Naj to Karbala 80 km from Kufa to Sham, thousand km.
[69:07]Imagine how the young immust have felt.
[69:10]Imar imagine how the young must have felt.
[69:15]They enter into enter into the city of Sham.
[69:19]And now and now the difficulties do not end.
[69:23]What did the heart of say witness witness in the city of
[69:30]Sham.
[69:28]They enter into the sham where the one of the very first
[69:34]things that says is what mentions in where the im says on
[69:47]those those lips that were hit with an iron rod.
[69:52]This is what say what see a while some time comes in
[69:56]thear of sham where a Syrian man steps forward and he says
[70:03]to Yazid I have a question Yazid there's silus in the says
[70:06]what's your question this man everyone is listening the caravan of Abdullah
[70:15]is listening the sakina is listening zab is listening I sad is
[70:19]listening what does this man ask.
[70:21]He says, "Oh Yid, this daughter of Aba Abdullah, give it to
[70:28]me as a maid servant." This is the question that say heard
[70:33]with her own ears.
[70:34]She looked towards her auntie Zanab who intervened.
[70:38]She says, "Auntie Zab, first prisoners and now made servants." A time
[70:46]comes in the zindan where the holy are sitting in the zindan
[70:50]say this begins to get restless at night.
[70:53]She wakes up from a dream and god knows what she saw
[70:58]in that dream.
[71:00]She cries out.
[71:03]The cries reach the ears of Yazid.
