[0:00][Applause] [Music] smell anger rahmanir rahim Sal Allah Allah rasulallah salallahu alaihe
[0:21]Maulana basically model Oh me so long while a [Music] capital a
[0:46]Shimano my kettlebell ah yeah late Anna Akana Michael a dirty vana
[1:00]for [Music] nothing illuminate your modulus and enlighten your hearts with a
[1:14]loud salawats for Mohammed and Ali Mohammed respected brothers and sisters assalamualaikum
[1:24]warahmatullahi wabarakatuh one of the most controversial topics in islam is the
[1:32]topic of the hijab the head covering that muslim woman where there
[1:38]is lots of misconceptions lots of confusion and lots of misunderstanding surrounding
[1:46]this topic both in the Muslim world and in the non-muslim world
[1:50]when we come to the Muslim world we see many questions that
[1:54]are raised for example many people ask is the hijab rajab is
[2:01]it ordained by Allah that Allah say that we must wear the
[2:03]hijab Muslim woman or is it just a cultural thing has nothing
[2:08]to do with religion because many sisters many women will say that
[2:12]if the hijab is a cultural thing that I don't want to
[2:17]wear it's because I'm not a part of that culture or because
[2:19]it does not increase my iman it has nothing to do with
[2:23]my faith I don't have to wear hijab in order to be
[2:25]a good practicing devout Muslim but however if it is ordained by
[2:31]Allah if Allah said that Muslim woman must wear the hijab then
[2:35]many sisters will say then I will accept it because Allah is
[2:38]ordering me to do so but however the another question that is
[2:44]raised here which stems from this second part which is if a
[2:47]job is indeed Waja then why is all the burden being placed
[2:52]on the woman because we know her job is to what a
[2:57]job is to promote modesty so that there is modesty and the
[3:00]society so why is it that we are seeing Islam placing all
[3:06]the burden on the woman and the men have it free they
[3:08]don't have to do anything with respects to modesty so these are
[3:13]some questions that we see are raised in the Muslim world when
[3:15]you go to the non-muslim world there's also lots of controversy because
[3:18]you find from time to time you hear in the news that
[3:23]a certain Mahad Jeb a woman wearing the hijab in a Muslim
[3:25]country she is denied of a job just because of her hijab
[3:30]there's many cases about that and sometimes it's taken up to as
[3:33]high as the Supreme Court as we saw in the news a
[3:36]few years ago other times you find that a Muslim woman is
[3:38]banned from what from going into public because of her her job
[3:44]or because of her what her her veil that she is covering
[3:45]her face like in France you see or sometimes they are denied
[3:50]from working in what in government institutions going to government schools public
[3:55]schools and so on and so forth there is lots of controversy
[4:00]surrounding the hijab and just about a month or two months ago
[4:02]if you remember the the the bikini I remember that that's what
[4:08]I was called the bikini ordeal in France and how many cities
[4:12]and France they were banning Muslim woman just from wearing this type
[4:16]of her job they weren't doing anything all they were doing was
[4:20]they were wearing this her job so there's lots of controversy surrounding
[4:24]this topic and that's why tonight I want to speak about some
[4:26]of these issues and clear some of the misconceptions but tonight I'll
[4:30]only speak about the misconceptions in the Muslim world and we will
[4:34]inshallah another lecture maybe this year maybe another year will speak about
[4:38]the hijab in the non-muslim world but tonight's the hijab in the
[4:43]Muslim world and I will go over two important questions number one
[4:47]is the hijab ordained by Allah Rajab or is it a cultural
[4:52]thing or extra credit that's number one and number two why is
[4:57]the burden all on the woman and the men don't have to
[5:01]do anything so we begin with the first point as the head
[5:04]job apart of culture or is it part of religion now if
[5:09]you go on the internet you will find many blogs many websites
[5:12]and likewise on social media many people who claim that her job
[5:16]is not watching I've seen some of those websites I've seen some
[5:21]of those people and these websites are usually founded and they are
[5:28]kept by whom they're funded and they are run by certain individuals
[5:33]that claim to be scholars and you find these people they boast
[5:40]about being Muslim feminists or they are affected by Western feminists or
[5:45]simply put they are influenced by the spirit of adaptation to the
[5:50]free modern permissive world where there is absolutely no restrictions and these
[5:54]people what do they say they say her job is not watching
[5:57]why there are four types of arguments that I have seen the
[6:04]first type of argument is those that will tell you the head
[6:06]job is a cultural thing has nothing to do with Islam why
[6:09]they will tell you that the head job was brought by Islam
[6:15]to which people to the Arabs correct Islam began in the Arabian
[6:19]Peninsula and the Arabs they have a quality called Allah Veera the
[6:25]Arabs know what I'm speaking about Elvina is when you have a
[6:27]form of jealousy it's not really jealousy but it's a form of
[6:30]jealousy towards my woman an Arab man he was jealous towards his
[6:35]wife about her his wife has daughters as sisters and that's why
[6:38]he could not bear another man looking at his woman so what
[6:43]would he tell his woman cover up wear the abaya wear all
[6:46]this hijabs so they will tell you that islam came into this
[6:50]culture and eventually this cultural habit had mixed with the religion and
[6:58]people think this was islam but it wasn't islam it was the
[7:00]arabs so this is where the hijab came from it's a cultural
[7:05]thing doesn't have to do with Islam so you don't have to
[7:06]worry if you're not an Arab that's the first type of argument
[7:11]that I have seen the second type of argument that I have
[7:14]seen about the hijab is others you'll find they'll tell you know
[7:17]hey job is a parts of religion but Allah did not define
[7:21]what her job is Allah said wear the hijab both the men
[7:26]and woman meaning be modest dress modestly but did Ally define how
[7:30]we should dress no he left that up to each individual so
[7:36]it's based on my judgment I get to decide what modesty means
[7:39]and that's why they will tell you there are certain woman that
[7:44]they see modesty as what as covering the entire body there were
[7:47]the Abba and sometimes they'll even cover their faces like you see
[7:49]in the Middle East why because Saddam this is modesty Allah lifted
[7:53]up to them either as they'll say this is too extreme this
[7:56]that you don't have to do that to be modest the the
[7:59]a job just the headscarf on my on my head that's enough
[8:01]and there are others that will tell you even that is not
[8:06]necessary I could expose my hair in my neck in my chest
[8:08]and my arms and my feet and I can still be a
[8:11]modest person because Allah did not define it this is the second
[8:16]type of argument the third type of argument that I have seen
[8:18]is those individuals that say no hijab is brought by religion by
[8:25]Allah to part of religion and a lie did define it he
[8:27]did say how we wear the hijab but it's extra credit it's
[8:33]not watchable but to have like Salah chili like giving charity correct
[8:37]this is Muslim this is also mr.
[8:39]hat so it's good to wear the hijab but it's not why
[8:42]Jim I could still be a devout full practicing Muslim without worrying
[8:46]the hijab and amongst the advocates and proponents of this third argument
[8:50]is what is one day I was I was watching The Oprah
[8:53]Show if you remember there's to be The Oprah Show and her
[8:56]guest that day was whom was the queen of Jordan the queen
[9:03]of Jordan Queen Rania so she wasn't her guest they spoke about
[9:06]many issues and then Oprah asked her she said you're a Muslim
[9:11]why don't you wear the hijab is it a job a must
[9:13]in your religion is there an obligation so look at the answer
[9:17]of Queen Rania she became all the sudden I wished ahead and
[9:19]she began to get fed to us so instead of being sincere
[9:23]and honest and saying you know what I'm not a full practicing
[9:26]Muslim you know what I should wear the hijab but I'm for
[9:28]whatever reason I don't but instead of saying that she doesn't want
[9:33]to look as a you know incomplete person person whose faith is
[9:36]incomplete or whatever she's not doing her obligation towards Allah so what
[9:39]does she say she says you know what her job is not
[9:44]watchable her job is mr.
[9:44]happy it's extra credit and that's why I don't wear it so
[9:48]this is the third type of argument and the fourth type of
[9:51]argument I have seen about her job is those individuals that say
[9:54]hey job is rajab only upon the wives of rasool allah rasool
[10:00]allah had more than one wife correct Allah ordered the wives of
[10:03]rasool allah to wear her job but ordinary woman like the rest
[10:07]of the world they don't have to wear their job it's not
[10:09]even recommended so these are four types of arguments that I have
[10:13]seen and they all lead to one conclusion hey job is not
[10:16]watch it for whatever reason now the question is here is the
[10:23]hijab Rajab or not now in order for us to understand the
[10:25]answer to this question we have to go to the Holy Quran
[10:29]we have to see what did Allah say about the hijab in
[10:33]the Quran did he say to our gym or did he not
[10:34]address the hijab or did he say it's mustahab or did he
[10:37]say it is watch him upon the wives of Rasul Allah only
[10:41]now when we go to the Quran we see there are a
[10:42]few verses that speak about her job but however before I go
[10:47]and to speak about those verses there are two points that I
[10:50]have to mention quickly the first point is that anytime brothers and
[10:54]sisters we want to do two fcl of Quran we have to
[10:59]make sure that this is the job of the experts and the
[11:02]month of Ramadan in my Arabic lectures I spoke about this so
[11:05]I'll briefly mention it now anytime we want to understand the Quran
[11:09]we have to make sure we go back to the scholars to
[11:13]the ulama if someone is a scholar he went to the house
[11:18]of the Islamic seminary Islamic University he studied the Quran only then
[11:23]he is qualified to give his or her view about the Quran
[11:25]if I have not been to a school Islamic school but on
[11:30]school at least five to ten years studied about the Quran I
[11:33]cannot come and give my view of the Quran now you might
[11:37]say why why can't everyone just open the Quran and based on
[11:41]his understanding give his opinion well it's common sense brothers and sisters
[11:46]every field every knowledge there are experts and it's the experts that
[11:50]have the right to give their opinion if I am NOT a
[11:54]doctor I can give my opinion about medicine if I'm not a
[11:56]surgeon I can't give my opinion about what type of surgery should
[12:01]be done to this person and that if I'm not an engineer
[12:03]I can't give my opinion about what type of metal should be
[12:07]used in this for example huge building this is common sense if
[12:10]you see two doctors they are speaking and debating about which type
[12:14]of medicine we should use for example for diabetes and let's say
[12:19]I'm a lawyer I'm a shopkeeper I'm a Salesman I'm a reaiiy
[12:22]a researcher or let's say I'm a journalist can I come and
[12:27]barge in and tell them I think you're both wrong it should
[12:29]be a third medicine if I do that they're gonna tell me
[12:32]excuse me who are you what are your credentials have you studied
[12:37]I don't care how many proofs you have two what are yours
[12:40]what you're saying I don't want to hear enough I'd to even
[12:45]give your opinion and if you do give a medicine you're not
[12:46]a doctor you could get arrested in this country because you're not
[12:49]qualified I don't care how smart you are you can't tell them
[12:53]you know what I was watching a show the other day I
[12:55]was watching the doctors show what did they call it the doctors
[12:57]show and this is what they said on that show or I
[13:01]read on Wikipedia that this medicine is good or I read two
[13:05]books what do you mean you're at two books what do mean
[13:07]you saw two shows I went to the University ten years I
[13:10]studied so I can become a doctor and then with two books
[13:12]you want to come and challenge me what will they tell you
[13:16]this is rude this is arrogance now we accept this in every
[13:18]field we don't barge in we respect the experts in every field
[13:25]except religion and religion all the sudden we all become scholars we
[13:28]all become experts we all become much two heads we all want
[13:30]to give our opinion and every community unfortunately I have seen one
[13:33]or two people he's not a scholar he's not an eyelid but
[13:37]he wants to give his opinion about every ayah about every law
[13:39]about every hokum about every hadith I think this I think that
[13:45]brother sister who are you with all due respect to you but
[13:47]you're not qualified to your opinion about the Quran I remember of
[13:52]while ago there was a brother he tells me that there is
[13:54]a group of people not scholars and one of them are some
[13:59]countries he says she evaluates they believe drinking alcohol is what drinking
[14:03]alcohol is hell on ice come why he says because they refer
[14:08]to a verse in the Quran there is absolutely no eylem scholar
[14:12]in the Muslim world that says drinking alcohol is hella they all
[14:15]say unanimously it's hella but these individuals all the sudden they're smarter
[14:20]than the entire Muslim scholars of the world they figured out that
[14:23]no drinking alcohol is Helen why because of a certain verse I
[14:29]read that verse I told him you know what to this verse
[14:31]not only does it not prove that drinking alcohol Allah doesn't prove
[14:37]its Helen it proves the opposite but because they did not understand
[14:41]the verse if anyone once just wants to open the Quran give
[14:43]us the steps here will be chaos in the society so we
[14:47]have two brothers and sisters respect the role of the ulema these
[14:52]are lemma are spending years in the house' and then i read
[14:54]two three books i think i understand more than them what do
[14:57]you think the islands doing is wasting its time from day to
[14:59]night from night to day Carlos is just sitting on a couch
[15:01]watching TV know sometimes what lie in some of our classes and
[15:08]the Hausa one verse one verse an entire month we spend just
[15:10]to understand one worth and then we have some brothers and sisters
[15:14]five minutes here understands more than the other one do you know
[15:17]what they call this arrogance this person is a sick person he's
[15:19]arrogant he understands more than everyone and no one understand accepts him
[15:24]except him this is arrogance I have to respect other people's time
[15:27]other people's knowledge other people that spend their lives trying to understand
[15:31]the Quran so that they tell me this verse means this I
[15:34]come and say no so this is point number one what's the
[15:38]Quran we have to be extra careful not to give our own
[15:42]view about the Quran because the hadeeth of Rasul Allah all Muslims
[15:45]narrates as what manifests aural Anabella yeah Feli at about the idea
[15:50]home in a nod whoever gives his own opinion about the quran
[15:55]without going back to what to the scholars and to the hadeeth
[15:57]of Ahlul Bayt then this person has reserved his seat in the
[16:02]fires of hell what sort of lies tell me keep out watch
[16:04]watch out don't barge into the Quran if it's not your job
[16:11]so this is number one number two and that's why before going
[16:13]to number two all these four views that remember the four arguments
[16:16]you will not find one scholar saying any of these four views
[16:20]go on those websites none of them are ulema none of them
[16:23]are scholars he's a doctor but the he says her job is
[16:27]not watching she is a scientist but she says her jobs no
[16:28]excuse me you're not a Island if I have a question about
[16:32]science about about medicine I'll come to you now about the Quran
[16:35]because this is not your area of expertise you'll not find one
[16:37]item that says her job is not watch it's all these people
[16:40]who are what we're not ulema not scholars don't have the credentials
[16:43]they come and they tell you a job is not watching this
[16:46]is number one number two the second point we have to keep
[16:48]in mind about the Quran is that the Quran is not an
[16:52]easy book to understand I don't think just because you are an
[16:54]Arab you're you could speak Arabic the hollows the Quran is an
[16:59]out of you I can open and understand incorrect why because there
[17:03]are three prerequisites that we need to understand the Quran prerequisite number
[17:07]one is what the first thing you need to understand the Quran
[17:10]is you have to now understand Allah B you have to be
[17:15]an expert in the Arabic language and that expertise you only find
[17:18]it in professor's of what the professors of the Arabic language in
[17:21]universities in the Middle East or our ulema that spent years understanding
[17:28]the true original Arabic language because our Arabic language right now so
[17:30]distorted it's not the same as the Arabic of the Quran of
[17:35]Rasul Allah that's why you find open the book of natural Bulava
[17:38]you don't understand most of it because our era be so weak
[17:42]open for example you know it doesn't even have to be a
[17:46]religious matters open the poems of the poets of el jahiliyyah like
[17:49]a moral place you don't understand most of it because our Arabic
[17:54]is so weak so in order for me to understand the Quran
[17:56]and the Quran was revealed in the highest level of Arabic eloquence
[18:01]I have to be well-versed in Arabic eloquence I have to have
[18:05]read many poems understand them grammar vocabulary and most ordinary people they
[18:09]don't have this so this is number one prerequisite number two the
[18:14]Holy Quran as many verses are not clear they are vague Allah
[18:18]Himself says it's in the holy quran in surah al-e-imran he says
[18:22]who and Levy and Zeller a lake al-kitab men who I attune
[18:27]mahkumat on wolcott a palaces there's two types of verses the first
[18:31]is the mahkumat the clear verses no one argues and then Allah
[18:36]says there's a next a second type of verse well ok remote
[18:39]ashabi hot and then there are the mutashabihat mutashabihat means what the
[18:44]vague verses the allegorical ambiguous unclear verses you read it you understand
[18:49]one thing I read it you underst I understand something else whoever
[18:52]reads it will understand something the verse is not clear to begin
[18:56]with and then Allah subhana WA Ta'ala says who has the right
[19:01]to give tips here of these unclear verses everyone told me chaos
[19:06]Allah says whoa maaaah Allah muta wila who and Lala what are
[19:09]our Sehun FL and only two people have the right to give
[19:12]the tips here of the unclear verses the first is Allah and
[19:15]the second is whom those that are deeply rooted in knowledge the
[19:20]ulema and obeyed Allah and that's why the second prerequisite to understanding
[19:24]the Quran is to go back to the hadith of a hundredweight
[19:26]they taught us how to understand the Quran if I don't look
[19:31]at the hadith and there are hundreds of a hadith from the
[19:36]Imams and from Rasul Allah doing stuff seer of the Quran I
[19:38]can't just pop in the Quran and say this is what it
[19:41]means no see what I know debate said about it this is
[19:42]prerequisite number two and finally prerequisite number three is that I have
[19:47]to always be careful of the context of the verse and amongst
[19:53]the matters that contribute to the context is to understand pre-islamic arabian
[19:58]culture if you do not understand the culture of the jahiliya then
[20:04]you will not understand certain verses in the Quran and you will
[20:07]understand what I'm speaking about in the example I will give in
[20:09]a few minutes so only after having these prerequisites I can come
[20:12]and say this verse means this that verse means that so after
[20:18]understanding these two points that FCL Quran is difficult there are prerequisites
[20:22]it's the job of the ulema we should not barge in after
[20:24]we understand this now we begin our discussion so number one we
[20:32]said as the hijab Rajab or is it not watching so we
[20:35]go to the Holy Quran I will mention to you two verses
[20:39]that Allah speaks about the hijab there's other verses but these are
[20:43]the two most important verses verse number one Allah mentions in surah
[20:48]al-ahzab he mentions the first first about hijab Allah says in surah
[20:53]al-ahzab ya ayyuhan nabi paul as logic webinar tick when i saw
[21:01]al mumineen you'd mean i lay hidden Evangel a be behind Oh
[21:05]Alice tells the Holy Prophet Holly Ollis with Allah he commands Allah
[21:09]to Allah to tell the people so it's an order to come
[21:15]and tell whom tell your wives your daughters and tell the believing
[21:19]woman when I saw al mumineen all the believing woman to do
[21:22]what your Dineen ali Hinnom in july be behin let them cast
[21:28]down upon them there Jill Bob what is the Jill Bob remember
[21:31]we said Arabic the Quran is you have to be good in
[21:35]Arabic so most of us today we don't know Jill Baba's we
[21:39]go back to the dictionaries the dictionaries tell us that the word
[21:43]JAL bob was a form of clothing a form of outer garment
[21:49]that woman used to wear in el jahiliyyah and this garment was
[21:53]very loose and it was from the head to the toe so
[21:58]basically in our Terms today the Jill Bob equals abaya the one
[22:01]that's from the head to the toe Allah tells the Prophet Yaris
[22:04]ooh la la tell your wives and your daughters and all the
[22:10]woman that they must wear the Jill Bob the abaya so what
[22:12]do we understand from this verse but there's a sister's number one
[22:17]that a job is not a part of culture her job is
[22:21]in the Quran and we understand that her job is not mustahab
[22:23]it is watch it because Allah has saying colonel any times Allah
[22:26]says good that means it to order it's a command it's now
[22:30]mr.
[22:31]hat that's number one number two we understand that it's not watch
[22:34]up just upon whom the wives of Rasul Allah because Allah said
[22:38]tell your wives and tell your daughters and tell all the believing
[22:40]woman so whoever says this is just watch it for the wives
[22:44]of also to live there going against the clear verse of allah
[22:47]in the quran is that clear that's number two number three what
[22:52]we understand according to the ulema from this verse is that do
[22:59]woman necessarily have to wear that Abhaya the only might say no
[23:02]what we understand from this verse is that the hijab the clothing
[23:04]of woman has to be loose this is what Allah means that
[23:09]gel bob was a loose clothing it did not show the shape
[23:11]of the woman's body so the first criteria of the head job
[23:17]according to the Quran is what your clothes have to be loose
[23:20]there are certain sisters unfortunately they cover their body but they were
[23:25]very tight clothes the holy quran says this is not the right
[23:30]hair job Allah says that you must cast down your JimBob you
[23:33]have to be wearing loose clothing so that when a man sees
[23:37]he does not see the shape of the woman and then he
[23:38]is tempted by it because unfortunate there are certain jobs that they
[23:43]tempt men more than if that woman was not wearing hijab because
[23:45]of how tight the clothes are this is not the her job
[23:48]of the Quran so this is the verse verse Allah has clearly
[23:51]saying where the Jill Bob meaning loose clothing now which parts of
[23:54]the body have to be covered this verse does not address it
[23:58]it just says that your abaya has to be what to loose
[24:00]meaning your clothes that you wear has to be loose and then
[24:04]we go to the second verse and the second verse Allah gives
[24:07]us the details which body parts have to be covered and which
[24:12]could be shown and Sola tune or verse 31 Allah says this
[24:15]one little minute you have known them in uppsala Hin Y our
[24:21]Father for Jahan Allah says ya rasulallah once again tell given order
[24:25]this is not much the Haab tell the believing woman to do
[24:30]three things number one let them lower their gaze when they see
[24:33]a person from the opposite gender number two let them protect their
[24:35]chastity and number three Allah says well I you bettina Zeenat Tohono
[24:44]a Lama fahara Mina what does this mean Allah says and they
[24:49]should cover their beauty all of it except the apparent beauty so
[24:53]Allah is telling on the believing woman cover all your beauty except
[24:59]apparent Lama waha Romina accept your appearance beauty what is apparent beauty
[25:04]I ask you if I tell a sister cover all your body
[25:06]except the appearance of beauty well what does that mean it's vague
[25:12]isn't it it's not clear this verse is amongst them with the
[25:14]Shah be hot Allah Himself said there are verses that are mutashabihat
[25:16]they're not clear what do we do with them what they shall
[25:20]be hot what do we say we go back to our debate
[25:21]correct they told us what's the Tipsy of those verses when we
[25:25]go back to the hadith of Ahlul Bayt which are sorry authentic
[25:28]the authentic a hadith of and wait they tell us that allah
[25:34]subhanaw taala in this verse he is considering the entire body of
[25:38]the woman as beauty so allah has when he says do not
[25:42]show your beauty he says he means do not expose your body
[25:44]all of it but then he makes an exception and Lama had
[25:48]I mean I accept the appearance of beauty the Imams tell us
[25:51]there's there are two exceptions number one the face this is the
[25:54]appearance beauty and number two the hands to the wrist so the
[25:59]face that's allowed because it's from the Lama waha vermin are their
[26:02]parents of beauty this could be exposed this could be shown and
[26:04]when we mean the face that's excluding of course the hair up
[26:09]to the chin and some sisters unfortunately when they wear the hijab
[26:12]they expose their ears the ear also has to be covered so
[26:14]excluding the ear this is the part that can be shown according
[26:18]to the hadith of I will be late and the hands up
[26:23]to the wrist beyond that this is all amongst the beauty that
[26:28]should be covered according to the Quran so allah subhana wa ta'ala
[26:31]in this verse he tells us which body parts have to be
[26:35]covered what do we know what do we understand the entire body
[26:38]except the face and the hands so the first verse we understood
[26:41]from it that the head job has to be loose clothing the
[26:45]second verse we understand the second criteria of a job it has
[26:49]to be covering the entire body except the face and the hands
[26:54]so any Muslim sister can wear any clothing as long as it
[26:57]has these two criterias according to the Quran number one it has
[26:59]to cover the entire body except the face in the hand and
[27:03]number two it has to be loose clothing if these two criterias
[27:05]are met she can wear whatever she want whatever type of clothing
[27:11]she wants does it stop there no and then allah subhanaw taala
[27:14]he mentions another part which also speaks about her job that same
[27:17]verse Allah says what one minute you have loved them in up
[27:23]sorry Hin why our Father for Jahan well I hope Edina Zeenat
[27:26]on a llama vahana and then Allah mentions her job again he
[27:30]says well he of ribbon ax muhammara Hina allowed you Ben and
[27:34]let them bring down their him are under jube once again we
[27:38]have to go back to dictionary what is him R what is
[27:40]jube the Quran is saying cover your job with your tomorrow when
[27:45]we got back to dictionaries they will tell him our is the
[27:48]veil is the head covering that woman used to wear just like
[27:52]the scarf that we wear now so this is called tomorrow any
[27:54]clothing any fabric that is used to cover the head the hair
[27:59]this is called Whatcom our alas has used your head covering to
[28:02]cover your joob joob is the bosom meaning the upper part of
[28:08]the chest so allah says cover your upper parts of your chest
[28:13]with your head covering now i've seen on those websites certain woman
[28:17]that say allah didn't say cover your hair with your Hammar with
[28:20]your scarf Allah said cover your chest I cover my chest that's
[28:25]enough is this a correct argument no why first of all they're
[28:28]picking and choosing what about the other verses that we just spoke
[28:31]about don't you pick and choose this one look at the other
[28:34]one number two these people did not understand the power on you
[28:37]see when we just were not qualified to do type C and
[28:40]of what I'm this is the problem that happens we have to
[28:43]be extra careful careful the Quran is precise it's delicate why what
[28:47]did Allah say he said use your kimono to cover your chest
[28:53]did he say use a fabric to cover your chest he said
[28:55]use your head covering to cover your chest so what does that
[29:00]mean so that means you're already covering your head with it but
[29:03]now cover your neck with it it doesn't make sense that the
[29:07]Allah just wants the next to be covered he says use a
[29:09]head covering use a head scarf to cover your neck wire hats
[29:13]- I use the word head scarf that means use it as
[29:14]a head scarf and in addition cover the neck now why didn't
[29:18]a lot just come and say cover your head your hair and
[29:19]your neck we go back to the third prerequisite what say the
[29:25]third prerequisite was understanding the Quran understanding pre-islamic arabian culture when we
[29:31]go back to the arabs the arabs during the time of jolly
[29:32]and a woman is to already wear hijab but there her job
[29:37]was incomplete it was wrong how they wore it on their heads
[29:39]and then it didn't come like this it went behind their ears
[29:45]just like a bandanna so the ears were exposed and the next
[29:47]one what neck was exposed so Allah sees that the women are
[29:51]already covering their hair what are they not covering the neck so
[29:55]Allah says with your veil with your headscarf cover your neck also
[29:59]so this means that caught your already covering your head but now
[30:04]cover your neck as well so from this verse we also understand
[30:06]that her job is watching Allah says use your Hamad your head
[30:08]start to cover your neck also so cover your head and cover
[30:14]your neck so based on these two verses brothers and sisters we
[30:18]understand what that head job is ordained by Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala
[30:21]that her job is not a cultural thing that allah defined it
[30:26]we said Allah Spanish Allah gave us the details the face is
[30:29]excluded and the hands the rest must be covered and it must
[30:34]be loose clothing and allah subhanaw taala made it clear that this
[30:36]is why Jim it's not extra credit it's not recommended now that
[30:39]we understand this we go to the next question why is the
[30:43]burden all on the woman why do women have to cover up
[30:45]so the men don't look because if a man looks he'll be
[30:48]tempted aroused and then the Oleta he'll just tell men not to
[30:50]look why is the burden on the woman islam says I agree
[30:56]with you 100% the burden isn't just on don't think that Allah
[30:59]just tells the woman to cover up and the men could look
[31:03]freely no Allah equally divides the obligation and that's why before this
[31:07]verse where Allah says tell the woman to wear the hijab Allah
[31:10]before that he spoke about the responsibility of men before saying go
[31:15]up a little more may not see all of them and observe
[31:18]he said what one little mini woman I'm sorry him Allah said
[31:22]and tell the believing men to lower their gaze when you see
[31:28]a woman from the opposite gender she's not dress modestly do not
[31:30]look you can't blame her and say she's not dress modestly it's
[31:33]her fault but I'm gonna look no you cannot look and she
[31:38]must cover so a lot divider equally a man does not have
[31:43]the right to look as we say check out another person if
[31:46]that person is not dressed properly modestly I do not have the
[31:49]right to look at that opposite person from the opposite gender with
[31:55]a look of lust and the woman has to cover up only
[31:56]in this way modesty is from so we're not just blaming and
[32:01]putting the burden on the woman you have to dress and the
[32:03]man is free no the man cannot look as well and that's
[32:07]why there is a story that explains why Allah revealed this verse
[32:10]the hadith says there was a young man walking in the city
[32:14]of in Medina one day he's walking he sees a beautiful woman
[32:16]who's not dressed modestly so once he sees her he begins to
[32:19]look at her stare at her how at her beauty she walks
[32:22]and he walks and he's just concentrating on her he forgets about
[32:25]the road about his way until he's so concentrated on her checking
[32:31]her out there's a metal rod coming out of the bill out
[32:33]of a building he doesn't see it sometimes when blinded because of
[32:37]we're seeing because when we're seeing something so that metal rod hits
[32:41]him on the head begins to bleed what does he do he
[32:43]runs to rasul allah rasool allah look at these evil woman they
[32:47]come out they dressed so immodestly and look at what happened to
[32:50]me because of her he wanted to blame her did Allah blame
[32:56]woman no Allah brought down the verse and Allah began by condemning
[32:59]the man what many aluminum why did you look to begin with
[33:02]what when you saw that woman she was dressed immodestly why did
[33:07]you not lower your gaze it's your fault as well and then
[33:10]Allah said and tell the woman to also dress modestly so that
[33:15]they do not cause problems in the society so allah subhanaw taala
[33:20]equally divided the obligation men have to lower their gaze and woman
[33:24]have to dress modestly and that's why the hadith of the Prophet
[33:28]says what the first look is for you if you look at
[33:32]someone that's not dressed modestly the first look is for you because
[33:35]you didn't know you know sometimes you look you don't know what
[33:37]you're expecting but the second look is against you sometimes we look
[33:43]at something and then we look back have you seen that you're
[33:45]looking and then you see something nice you the second look is
[33:47]how long because the second look is intentional the first was accidental
[33:51]so I have to lower my gaze as a Muslim this is
[33:54]why Jeff this is not extra credit it is haram to look
[33:57]at the opposite gender unless it's my wife it's how I'm to
[33:59]look with lust and desire Allah says lower your gaze and what
[34:02]along wants to teach us teach us from this verse brothers and
[34:06]sisters is that be just in the same way that you don't
[34:08]want people to look at your woman don't look at other peoples
[34:11]women there are some people in the society young men and women
[34:14]and young men fathers brothers if any man texts his sister or
[34:21]daughter or if he knows if there is a man that has
[34:24]a relationship unlawful relationship with his daughter or a sister he'll go
[34:29]and he want to kill that guy correct if I know that
[34:31]my sixteen seventeen year old sister there's a guy texting her and
[34:34]telling her inappropriate things when I chase after him to try to
[34:41]kill him I'll threaten him but at the same time I'm texting
[34:43]other people's sisters I'm sexting other people's daughters I do it it's
[34:48]okay but once it's my daughter and my sister now it becomes
[34:52]hell ah this is hypocrisy Allah says be just if you lower
[34:55]your gaze and don't look at other woman people will do the
[34:58]same with your woman because everyone will be lowering their gaze so
[35:01]allah subhana wa ta'ala wants us to be just in the society
[35:05]and only in that way we can promote what modesty and that's
[35:08]why you find that this a job was so due to a
[35:12]little bit because they understood this they understood the modesty of the
[35:16]hijab and that's why you find amongst the greatest tragedies of Karbala
[35:19]was what was the fact that they violated the high job of
[35:22]a debate they did not take off the hijab of the whole
[35:26]monovalent some people they think this happened no this did not happen
[35:28]many our ulema according to correct historical accounts they say the hijabs
[35:32]of zeyneb and the other woman were not taking out but what
[35:37]happened their face veils were taken off you see a debate they
[35:40]were so high in their iman that to them their modesty was
[35:44]that even my face has to be covered that if my face
[35:46]was shown in front of a stranger man this is violating my
[35:51]sanctity this is how great the job was to them that even
[35:53]their faces could not be shown to strangers and that's why it's
[35:58]narrated hell imam zein al-abideen ELISA Lam was asked what is the
[36:02]greatest tragedy that you saw in kara Bella do you know what
[36:04]he said he did not say that imam husain was killed he
[36:08]did not say I will fur even though these were great tragedies
[36:10]when he was asked what was the worst thing that happened to
[36:15]you the whole entire incident of Caramella and after that to Covanta
[36:18]he would say a Shama Shama Shama was the worst part of
[36:23]the entire journey do you know why because there they uncovered the
[36:27]faces of the woman and they let all the men all the
[36:29]people of sham stare at them everybody just wants to die because
[36:34]of that do you see how great her job was to debate
[36:36]our role models tonight is the sixth night of Muharram and we
[36:44]usually mention the mostly but of the as'hab I'm running out of
[36:47]time I'll quickly mention it an imam hussain ali salaam to him
[36:53]his companions were the greatest companions he says who Allah and Amara
[36:57]a to us hab and Helen - happy what lie there are
[36:59]Noah's harp more loyal than my companions do you know why the
[37:04]night of our Allah in imam hussain ali salaam he gathers his
[37:07]companions he turns off the candles and then he tells them tomorrow
[37:10]the enemies will kill me and whoever is with me and the
[37:14]enemies wants me they don't want you they want thereafter who saying
[37:16]so whoever it doesn't want to be killed please go away I'll
[37:20]turn off the candle so you don't feel ashamed and embarrassed to
[37:23]go he turns off the candle you see the heart of a
[37:26]bar but how merciful he is he doesn't want them to be
[37:28]killed he turns off the light he turns off the candle a
[37:32]while after they turn it on he sees no one has moved
[37:33]they're all sitting where they were he tells them no one wants
[37:38]to leave they tell him what la hija by Abdullah if were
[37:40]killed and killed and killed a thousand times for you we will
[37:45]never leave you one of them by the name of zoo hey
[37:46]Rob Delaney told him Allah he barbed Allah if I were to
[37:50]be killed for you and then my body were to be cut
[37:54]into pieces and then I would be burned and then my ash
[37:56]the ashes of my body would be spread into the air and
[38:01]this would be done to me 1000 times wallahi I would not
[38:05]leave you do you see the love they had for about their
[38:06]loyalty do you blame about the land for sale he says well
[38:11]I knew mala a to us harm and a ominous hobby they
[38:13]give everything they had for about denial per se and that's why
[38:18]mum her saying love them so much and that's why about the
[38:21]land her saying they were his pride on the day of ashura
[38:24]but he had to see one after the other go to the
[38:26]battlefield and get killed one after the other Habib Nam of AA
[38:32]had one of the greatest of them Imam Hussain had saved a
[38:34]standard for him so that when he comes he came late to
[38:39]Karbala once he came he came down from his horse and he
[38:42]went and threw himself on the feet of abar Abdullah and he
[38:44]began to kiss the feet of about Abdullah and he said may
[38:49]my life be sacrificed for you Yahoo saying and he was an
[38:52]old man many years older than Imam Hussain say the zeyneb heard
[38:55]Habib is there when she heard the words of Habib and how
[39:00]he's sacrificing his life for a man person she felt proud she
[39:02]told Ali Akbar go tell him that Zeinab sends you her salons
[39:07]when ali akbar told that to Habib Habib began to cry he
[39:11]took from the sand and he began to pour it on his
[39:12]head and he said Who am I that zeyneb sends her salaam
[39:16]to me what an honor this is zeyneb center said unto me
[39:19]what a great honor do you see what type of us have
[39:23]we had they were so loyal they were so they were so
[39:27]pure Muslim have been outside yet another one of them he Imam
[39:30]Hussain wanted to pray on the day of ashura so he said
[39:34]I will defend him I'm saying I will stand like a wall
[39:35]a shield in front of him he was hit with some arrows
[39:39]until he was about to die most still announced Ajay is dying
[39:41]habib em no mo bahar comes he tells him is there any
[39:45]final wishes you have look at what he says he just points
[39:46]out about Abdullah and he says also you can be heard every
[39:50]behavior that's all I have to tell you take care of about
[39:52]Abdullah don't leave him alone he's dying that's all he's thinking about
[39:55]this is their love for imam hussain ali instead each one of
[39:59]them was worth ten thousand men one hundred thousand men this is
[40:03]their love and loyalty and devotion for their email and one after
[40:06]the other the imam saw them go to the battlefield and never
[40:10]returning until he felt lonely he saw no one left he went
[40:12]on a hill and he began to cry out yes ha ha
[40:17]why I'm for the Sun and how you dry mylie when i
[40:25]de campaña to jaipur oh come fella just my own Annie I'm
