[0:07]alhamdulillah [Music] respected Elders brothers and sisters I'd like to begin by
[0:47]extending my warm greetings to all of you as we come together
[0:50]and we celebrate the birth anniversary of the commander of the faithful
[0:56]and I thought that during these two days that we have together
[1:05]I wanted to touch on a very important topic a topic that
[1:09]is of great interest especially with the rise of certain red pill
[1:14]influencers on social media and that is the topic of Manliness and
[1:19]masculinity in the Islamic Tradition now before we speak about the qualities
[1:28]that a man should aspire to acquire as an introduction we need
[1:38]to take a step back and briefly discuss the topic of gender
[1:43]and gender roles as articulated by the Quran and the when you
[1:49]examine the Quran you find that Allah subhana wa taala presents two
[1:58]fundamental truths about gender that challenge the prevailing liberal Orthodoxy the first
[2:08]is that the Quran is very clear and it asserts in a
[2:13]number of verses that humanity is essentially dimorphic in the sense that
[2:22]there exists a real gender binary and even this term gender is
[2:27]actually a new phenomenon I knew I know that in many liberal
[2:33]arts institutions in many of the colleges and univers universities over the
[2:38]past several decades there is this distinction between sex and gender one
[2:44]is physiological biological the other represents the norms and the behaviors that
[2:48]we find in certain cultures it's usually presented as a social construct
[2:54]but for the sake of Simplicity we're going to conflate these terms
[2:58]because the reality is that even if you separate them as independent
[3:07]Concepts there is no doubt that gender is heavily influenced by sex
[3:13]and biology when you look at the Quran Allah subhah wa taala
[3:17]is very clear about this concept of a binary gender you find
[3:23]that Allah subhana in he addresses Humanity Allah says oh people we
[3:39]have created you from a male and a female right now this
[3:46]is not to deny the existence of people who suffer from gender
[3:51]dysphoria there is a small percentage of the population that struggle with
[3:57]gender identity but this does not negate the fundamental truth that there
[4:04]are two genders now furthermore you find that the Quran in addition
[4:11]to asserting that human beings fall into one of these two categories
[4:18]Allah subhana wa tala actually takes it a step further and he
[4:24]makes it clear that not only are there two genders but they
[4:29]are not to be treated as identical they're not the same they
[4:37]are different they are equally Noble before Allah subhana wa ta'ala they
[4:42]are both rewarded for their righteous Deeds for their efforts but they
[4:46]are not identical Allah subhana wa tala in explicitly he says what
[4:56]Allah says the male is not like the female Allah doesn't say
[5:02]that the male is better than the female or the female is
[5:05]better than the male Allah says now I'm sure Muslims over the
[5:15]past 14 centuries when they were reading this verse they were probably
[5:20]thinking it's obvious why why did this statement make it in the
[5:24]Quran but now we know that this statement has become one of
[5:36]the most controversial points of our time you have entire discussions about
[5:41]what it means to be a man and what it means to
[5:42]be a woman documentaries are being produced asking this simple question of
[5:49]what is a woman now when it comes to this these two
[5:55]facts that we find in the Quran that human human beings are
[6:02]are dimorphic species and the male is not like the female these
[6:06]two realities that the Quran highlights it's important to note that these
[6:11]are not just religious truths these are ideas that have been embraced
[6:16]and accepted from the beginning of the human race if you look
[6:24]at traditional societies if you look at history you find that historically
[6:28]and we're just speaking about what has been the reality in the
[6:33]past up until the middle of the 20th century historically the role
[6:42]of men in society has been that they function as the Breadwinners
[6:47]they are the ones who go out they go out of the
[6:54]house they work they generate income for their families they provide for
[7:00]their families they protect their wives their children their property and ultimately
[7:07]throughout history throughout the overwhelming majority of human history men have functioned
[7:12]as the heads of their households whereby the final decision is usually
[7:18]made by the head of the household which is the husband or
[7:24]the father and historically the role of women has been what the
[7:29]role of women in society from the time of Adam until the
[7:36]middle of the 20th century in most human societies obviously you're going
[7:40]to have some exceptions but the dominant theme that we've seen is
[7:45]what these traditional gender roles where women function as the primary caregivers
[7:52]the nurturers the ones who cook and clean and raise the children
[7:57]support their husbands this essentially has been the story of humankind from
[8:05]the time of Adam until just recently as I said until the
[8:13]mid of the middle of the 20th century now when did all
[8:18]of this change now of course I'm not going to speak about
[8:21]different parts of the world I just want to focus on America
[8:25]what was happening in America in the middle of the 20th century
[8:29]we fast forward to World War II specifically in 1942 you see
[8:41]World War II broke out from 1939 to 1945 1942 was basically
[8:51]the middle of World War II what happened at that time that
[8:58]caused a dramatic change in these traditional gender roles what happened was
[9:05]that there was an increasing number of American men who were being
[9:10]recruited for the war effort and what happened because of that there
[9:18]was a major economic void these men and of course the United
[9:23]States was was an industrialized economy men were being recruited to go
[9:32]and fight in more suddenly you have all of these factories that
[9:38]need workers so as men are being deployed to fight in World
[9:45]War II the government encountered an economic crisis suddenly women in America
[9:56]they had to step in and fill these positions as workers in
[10:01]these factories now as the numbers increased as the war continued and
[10:05]intensified more and more men were being sent abroad and of course
[10:12]to fill that worker Gap they began by recruiting women from the
[10:17]working class they you know they always start at the bottom of
[10:20]the economic ladder women from the working class were recruited but there
[10:27]were not enough women to fill these position phans and then gradually
[10:34]they started to recruit women from middle class America now it's very
[10:43]very difficult to enact a dramatic change in gender roles you have
[10:48]gender roles that have existed for thousands of years how does America
[10:55]change this gender role whereby now women have to come to the
[11:03]Forefront and function as primary Breadwinners they have to fill that economic
[11:06]Gap what happens in the middle of the 20th century is that
[11:13]the government starts funding propaganda campaigns to convince women to join the
[11:21]workforce how many of you guys have heard of Rosie the Riveter
[11:26]I'm sure you guys have seen those posters after the lecture you
[11:29]can Google it you'll find that posters that portray strong women women
[11:35]who are flexing women who have a can do attitude you see
[11:39]that all of this material is surfacing the government is basically sending
[11:45]a message to American women that working and joining the workforce is
[11:51]your patriotic Duty now when women join the workforce in throngs what
[12:01]happens is that now women are asking for equal opportunities there is
[12:08]now demands for there are now demands for equal pay and what
[12:15]happens is that when these men start coming back from the war
[12:19]what you see is now that you have husband and wife in
[12:26]the workforce now in order to run a household you have to
[12:33]share in the domestic chores now men have to start taking on
[12:39]some of the roles at home so what happens in the west
[12:46]is very interesting now as Muslim men it is part of our
[12:48]tradition the prophet the imams of they taught us that there is
[12:56]nothing emasculating about helping in domestic chores in fact it is part
[13:05]of your to assist there is nothing that diminishes your manhood if
[13:08]you cook for your family if you clean if you help your
[13:11]spouse but what happens in America is very interesting is that there
[13:18]what happens is that there is a sort of social engineering that
[13:21]takes place now what do I mean by this you see if
[13:28]you look at popular shows in the 1950s and the 1960s and
[13:34]I would say that the traditional family continued to exist in the
[13:42]1950s and 1960s if you want to know what America was like
[13:45]it's helpful to look at some of the popular shows of the
[13:52]time because a lot of these shows they mirror the societal Norms
[13:55]of the time you know if you look at shows for example
[13:58]like I Love Lucy I Love Lucy Leave it to Beaver if
[14:04]you look at for example popular shows like The Brady Bunch I
[14:07]know some of you guys are very young and you guys have
[14:10]no idea what I'm talking about but these were shows that you
[14:13]know your older siblings or your parents were quite familiar with now
[14:16]what's interesting about these particular shows shows that were popular in the
[14:21]50s 60s and 70s is that you find that they largely reinforced
[14:28]the idea of men as providers and protectors and women as caretakers
[14:34]and nurturers but gradually what do you see change with the sexual
[14:44]revolution of the 1960s with prominent feminist thinkers what you find is
[14:50]that things take a radical change and and what happens is in
[14:55]order to facilitate this drastic gender role change you find that Western
[15:07]societies embark on what I would call a feminization campaign of men
[15:12]because for them to get men to take on a larger part
[15:18]of the domestic work we have to feminize them which again as
[15:23]I said from an Islamic perspective is not even necessary but what
[15:27]you see is very interesting Muhammed Muhammad what you see is very
[15:38]interesting you see that suddenly things start to change in the west
[15:47]everything from Fashion to television to toys in the towards the end
[15:58]of the 20th century you see for example in the world of
[16:01]fashion you know there was a Time in America where men's apparel
[16:08]was very distinct from women's apparel men used to wear trousers and
[16:12]Suits they used to wear top hats and women used to wear
[16:15]dresses just from the way they dress it's very clear this is
[16:21]a man this is a woman today if you walk into any
[16:24]department store believe me sometimes when I if I need to to
[16:30]buy clothes which is rare because I hate shopping you walk in
[16:34]and you're you're looking for shirts and you don't even realize that
[16:38]you're in the women's section because everything looks the same it's hard
[16:42]to even differentiate between women's apparel and men's apparel there is a
[16:49]blurring of the lines this is in the world of fashion in
[16:52]fact most fashion that we see today is unisex there is no
[17:00]distinct gender category anymore toys many of the toys there was a
[17:04]time where you had toys for boys and toys for little girls
[17:08]now everything is what everything is gender neutral this is not an
[17:12]accident this is very very intentional if you look at shows you
[17:17]know we are heavily influenced by the media that we consume as
[17:25]I said television shows popular television shows they mirror societal Norms but
[17:32]they don't only mirror what's going on in society they influence Society
[17:38]they indoctrinate Society so for example how many of you guys grew
[17:41]up watching a popular TV show called friends right again some of
[17:49]you the younger generation I don't know what you guys watch you
[17:51]guys watch Tik Tok you don't even watch shows one of the
[17:56]most popular shows in America for over a decade I think it
[18:00]ran from the mid90s to the end to the 2000s friends if
[18:08]you look at this show think of all of the male characters
[18:12]in that show almost all of them I don't want to name
[18:17]the characters but you know who I'm talking about if you don't
[18:21]you need to do some research tonight all of the characters in
[18:24]these popular shows the male characters they are highly emotional they are
[18:30]very indecisive they are idiotic and they are silly they all lack
[18:39]another show if you look at Everybody Loves Raymond right that's not
[18:44]a declarative statement I don't who cares about Raymond right the show
[18:48]is called Everybody Loves Raymond if you look at that show it
[18:53]was very popular for a period in the United States in that
[18:56]show you have a very strong wife a very firm a very
[19:01]educated wife she's managing the household and then you have Raymond who
[19:07]is a bumbling idiot who's silly who's childish who's immature notice that
[19:12]in almost all of the popular shows in America the male figure
[19:19]is not firm the male figure lacks true masculine qualities many of
[19:26]them are emasculated they are feminine and those masculine characteristics are usually
[19:31]assigned to who they're assigned to the the women that is not
[19:38]an accident even if you look at some of the popular shows
[19:41]in the 1970s The Mary Tyler Moore Show you're probably wondering how
[19:46]she watches a lot of TV I promise you I don't I
[19:50]really don't The Mary Tyler Moore Show was very popular in the
[19:53]1970s the show was very unique because it featured the main character
[20:00]Mary who was an independent career driven woman who made a conscious
[20:08]decision to stay single because men are useless you see what happens
[20:19]in America is that not only are gender roles changing but in
[20:25]the process of changing these gender roles men are are taught that
[20:30]it's okay to be a bumbling idiot it's funny that you don't
[20:39]have a dominant role that you are not the decision maker that
[20:43]you are not someone who should be decisive because all of the
[20:49]most popular people in media are the opposite of that it's training
[20:53]men that you don't ever need to be men you can remain
[20:57]as males now because of this culture what happens is because of
[21:05]this social engineering you have an entire generation of males who never
[21:14]evolve into men think about it if all of the most popular
[21:17]television shows are depicting these emasculated characters you know even if you
[21:23]think of the most popular Disney movies think of one try to
[21:26]think of one Disney movie where there is a truly positive masculine
[21:35]father figure they don't exist they don't exist now you may think
[21:38]oh The Lion King but they killed him he became a Shahed
[21:41]very early in the movie either it's a very passive emasculated father
[21:48]or it's that strict father who is preventing his daughter from pursuing
[21:55]a life of Happiness the father figure is always problematic again this
[22:02]is not a coincidence this is social engineering now things got worse
[22:12]and worse over time as a society we reached a point where
[22:18]not only did you have to embrace these changes but you were
[22:27]chastised if you came forward and you said I believe that traditional
[22:31]gender roles are the ideal in fact you would be cancelled if
[22:40]you highlighted that these gends were healthy they worked for thousands of
[22:43]years they existed for thousands of years because they worked you'd be
[22:49]cancelled you could lose your job your business could be boycotted now
[22:54]when you live in a highly politically correct environment where you're not
[23:01]even able to express your views what happens what happens is over
[23:08]time you have people from the fringes when you have this climate
[23:12]of censorship you have people from the fringes who emerge these red
[23:16]pill influencers who say things that a lot of boys want to
[23:21]hear you know if you think of the Journey of a young
[23:24]boy in America you go to school so first of all you're
[23:29]born into this world because your parents are both working you are
[23:35]your tbia is outsourced to a daycare where it's predominantly women you
[23:40]go to school and and I'm speaking from the perspective of a
[23:44]boy I want you to understand what I'm saying here a boy
[23:48]goes to school and 99% of his teachers are women now I'm
[23:55]not saying it's a problem to have female teachers what I'm saying
[23:57]is that it's not good for the development of a young boy
[24:03]to never be around positive male role models so when a boy
[24:09]is constantly around other women he never learns what it means to
[24:15]be a man and therefore you have boys who never turn into
[24:19]men and they grow up hearing that masculinity is toxic so the
[24:27]qualities that Islam wants wants them to exhibit the firmness the decisiveness
[24:33]strength these qualities are what they're pathologized so they learn to be
[24:43]meek weak passive and guess what sisters you guys got to marry
[24:47]these guys and you know what happens as much as people say
[24:52]you know I want a guy with a strong feminine side believe
[24:54]me you don't want that you don't want that and even the
[24:59]the Lang that we use I want a guy with a strong
[25:03]feminine side that's not a feminine side we'll speak about this more
[25:05]tomorrow being tender being gentle that's not a feminine quality that is
[25:10]actually part of healthy masculinity so what happens is that you end
[25:20]up marrying these young men who are in an environment where they're
[25:26]shunned for masculine for their masculinity they are immersed in environments where
[25:32]they're only surrounded by female Educators and this is why it's very
[25:39]very important that we have more men entering the field of Education
[25:42]the pay has to go up teachers need to be compensated more
[25:45]fairly and there is a need for male Educators boys need to
[25:53]be around men they need to learn what it means to be
[25:58]a man so you end up marrying these young men who are
[26:02]males who never evolved into men and guess what happens do you
[26:08]think that that marriage is going to last because it is in
[26:10]the F of a woman to want to be with a man
[26:15]not just a male and it becomes a vicious cycle now is
[26:24]there a difference between men and women of course there is is
[26:29]of course there is the the science is overwhelming the research is
[26:35]overwhelming there are physical differences between us there are cognitive differences there's
[26:45]a very interesting you know this the in the beginning of the
[26:48]lecture what did I say I said that the Quran highlights two
[26:53]fundamental truths about gender there are two not 75 or 117 whatever
[26:57]it is just two and the male is not like the female
[27:05]I want to speak a little bit about this verse and then
[27:10]I'll end with an Ayah of the Quran that gives us some
[27:12]of the most important qualities in a man and then inshallah we'll
[27:17]relate it to are you guys with me so far have I
[27:25]lost you you're with me are you guys going to go watch
[27:29]Love Lucy and Everybody Loves Raymond tonight okay Allah subhana wa inah
[27:35]what does he say he tells us the story of the birth
[27:41]of maram not Isa maram Allah subh in 35 he says the
[28:01]mother of maram she made a vow when she was pregnant that
[28:08]I am dedicating the child that is growing in my womb to
[28:13]your service he will serve in the temple she made a another
[28:19]that I'm dedicating this child to the service of your religion you
[28:25]know look at these Pious people whenever they make an intention to
[28:30]do something for the sake of Allah they always ask Allah oh
[28:35]Allah accept it it's not just about doing it's about doing it
[28:38]in a way that is accepted by Allah that's Ayah 35 now
[28:49]what is the context here mariam's mother some of the scriptures mentioned
[28:56]that her name was Hannah miam's father According to some traditions was
[29:05]a prophet and he tells his wife the mother of maram Hannah
[29:11]he gives her the Glad Tidings that Allah is going to give
[29:16]us a very special child someone who is going to change the
[29:22]world someone who is going to revitalize the religion so miam's father
[29:33]he passes away before her birth miam's mother is thinking that based
[29:42]on the description that was given to me by my husband that
[29:47]this is a bishar you are going to be given a very
[29:49]gifted unique child who's going to elevate the truth and who's going
[29:57]to bring so much to this world she assumed assumed that it
[30:00]was going to be a male that only a male could bring
[30:07]about the revolution that you're speaking about Allah subhana wa tala what
[30:12]does he say in the next Ayah Ayah 36 when she gave
[30:20]birth she was shocked oh Allah I gave birth to a female
[30:31]the lofty descriptions of what this child would be my assumption is
[30:36]what is that it was going to be a male Allah says
[30:43]what Allah knows very well what she gave birth to and then
[30:50]the line and the male is not like like the female the
[31:00]question is who is the Speaker of this statement is it the
[31:07]mother ofam or is it Allah the author of he says that
[31:15]this is the statement of God why because it's not the way
[31:21]that a human being would speak you see if I give you
[31:26]some if you're expecting something say say let's say that you want
[31:32]a carbonated beverage and I give you a bottle of water you
[31:37]have the bottle of water and you say you would say what
[31:41]but this is not like that water is not like a carbonated
[31:48]drink but what is this ay saying well what she has is
[31:54]a girl if it was a human speaking it would be what
[31:59]a girl is not like a boy because she gave birth to
[32:04]a girl but what is what is the statement a male is
[32:07]not like a female she has a female you would think that
[32:10]the the a would say Alama says it's because God is speaking
[32:17]and God speaks differently from people what is Allah trying to say
[32:25]and the male is not like the female Allah gives to the
[32:32]family of Iman because I want to give you someone who will
[32:39]be the mother of and no man can play the role of
[32:49]a mother no man can play the role of a mother there
[32:51]is no one in this world that could raise someone like Isa
[32:59]other than maram you need maram for the job because no man
[33:02]can perform the role of a mother so there are differences but
[33:10]they are complimentary now very briefly brothers and sisters we'll continue this
[33:18]discussion in more depth tomorrow but I want to share one Ayah
[33:22]where Allah subana wa tala highlights the most important one of the
[33:27]most important qualities in a man inah ayat 23 listen very very
[33:35]carefully to this Allah says Allah says and from among the Believers
[33:45]there are men there areal most of the ayat in the Quran
[33:56]that mention speak about in a positive wayal you see when Allah
[34:01]mentions is not the opposite of here the opposite ofal is males
[34:12]who don't have you see if you look at the Battle of
[34:19]the prophet he sends the first you know who the first is
[34:26]he sends the first he comes back defeated he sends the second
[34:30]the second comes back defeated what does the prophet say tomorrow I
[34:43]will give the banner to a man which means what the others
[34:52]who went before they lacked the qualities of from among the Believers
[35:02]there are men not every male is a man what's the First
[35:08]Quality that is mentioned of because whenever almost always you find whenever
[35:14]when is mentioned Allah mentions positive qualities of these from among the
[35:26]Believers there are men who were true to their PL pled to
[35:30]Allah real men they take their pledges very seriously if they make
[35:38]a promise to God they fulfill it if they make a promise
[35:40]to their wives they fulfill it men they take their words very
[35:50]seriously your word is all that you have this was revealed in
[35:58]the con in the context of these are men who made a
[36:05]promise to defend the religion to sacrifice these are men who are
[36:16]not afraid to face adversity real men have purpose you are not
[36:24]a real man if you live an aimless life if you don't
[36:29]have a high High Noble purpose and the your purpose has to
[36:32]be much more than wealth acquisition you know the problem with a
[36:35]lot of these red pill influencers you know our young boys they
[36:39]look up to Fan so and so oh he's a real man
[36:42]why is he a real man oh he smokes cigars and he
[36:44]works out and he drives exotic cars and he has a bunch
[36:51]of girls around him that's not that's not Rula Rula is to
[36:59]honor your commitment to God is to live with purpose to not
[37:05]live this empty materialistic life so the first quality of is that
[37:10]they have purpose and they are willing to make sacrifices and this
[37:17]is where we find was truly the embodiment he was the embodiment
[37:26]of this I want to mention two narrations that are very rarely
[37:31]mentioned from the pulpit that relate to the manly qualities ofir the
[37:39]first narration is that for those of you who are familiar with
[37:44]the Battle of you know we always hear about what KH did
[37:47]and The Archers before that happened at the beginning of the battle
[37:55]was decimating the mus he was the flag before the battle begins
[38:02]is holding the standard who is one of the standard Bears on
[38:09]the side of the mus he sees Ali and he recognizes him
[38:20]from the days in Mecca you know Al was in his early
[38:23]20s in he sees Ali and he says to him you're the
[38:36]striker literally means Striker we have a narration where in a man
[38:47]asks why was given the title why was he called the striker
[38:58]this is one of the Lesser known names of we're familiar with
[39:06]with is also one of the names of Ali it literally means
[39:11]the striker why was he called the striker Imad he says during
[39:18]the early days of Islam in Mecca when the prophet used to
[39:23]go and preach the mush because of the presence of Abu Talib
[39:28]Abu Talib is the chief of qur you don't want to mess
[39:33]with the prophet so none of the adults would lay a finger
[39:36]on the prophet because they were afraid of Abu Talib he's the
[39:42]chief of qur you don't cross that line so what did they
[39:44]do they thought they were very clever they said okay if we
[39:49]can't attack the prophet we'll send our kids to throw stones at
[39:51]him their kids what is he going to retaliate he's he going
[39:54]to beat up our kids so when the prophet would go and
[39:56]preach the kids of Medina 10 11 12 little teenagers they would
[40:05]throw stones and dirt at the Prophet The Prophet would come back
[40:09]bloodied up and the prophet of course he can't strike a child
[40:16]it would be Unbecoming of him to hit a child so he
[40:22]was enduring this one day who himself was he was probably 14
[40:28]or 15 at the time Ali was a young teenager he says
[40:31]what happened he says that these they they would send their kids
[40:41]to assault me and their kids I can't do anything I just
[40:43]have to endure this he says the next time you go out
[40:56]take me with you because I'm also a kid I'm also a
[41:01][Applause] teenager imagine the site the prophet is in his 40s 13
[41:10]years old 14 years old as soon as the prophet came out
[41:19]these Punk kids they grab sticks and stones and they start attacking
[41:26]the prophet he started to retaliate literally was going out and knocking
[41:47]out these punks he was hitting this guy in the ear this
[41:53]guy in the nose he sent them all back to their parents
[41:56]crying beond now why am I mentioning this story am I encouraging
[42:07]our teenagers to go rough up people in their neighborhoods what's what's
[42:11]the point of the story this story highlights that was a man
[42:22]even when he was a teenager why he was a manly man
[42:29]when he came to the Prophet this is one of the most
[42:34]important qualities of a man when he comes to when the prophet
[42:38]comes to him and he says that I'm getting attacked by these
[42:43]kids Al doesn't just say to the prophet I'll make Dua for
[42:46]you I'm really sorry this is happening he's not a man of
[42:53]just talk Ali is a man of action he sees a problem
[42:55]he takes he takes initiative he takes decisive action that is what
[43:02]a man does to take the initiative not to wait for people
[43:05]to ask you to fix the problem that is what aand do
[43:10]he was Brave even though he was one and he's going to
[43:15]have to fight against a bunch of teenagers he still went out
[43:17]because being a man means that you're Fearless you're brave you don't
[43:25]succumb to fear and he was called the striker notice that alali
[43:32]was very measured in his retaliation because part of being a man
[43:36]is that you control yourself you don't retaliate with too much force
[43:42]wasn't going around shanking people in in uh in Mecca he struck
[43:49]them very targeted controlled strikes that is part of being a man
[43:53]that you're measured you have control over yourself all of this we
[44:03]extrapolated from this of during his Youth and then finally I'll mention
[44:07]this and this is a narration where Malik an the head of
[44:15]the Malik he says I heard IM sayam he says I heard
[44:24]IM say he said IM said during the time of someone asked
[44:37]him oh Ali why don't you purchase a fancy fast horse you
[44:44]have an ordinary horse why don't you get a fast one why
[44:50]don't you get the Lamborghini of horses a fast horse the answer
[44:54]of Al Talib also has important lessons on manliness what does he
[45:06]say I don't need a fast horse because I don't flee from
[45:11]the one who charges at me and I don't chase after the
[45:21]ones who run away from me what is he highlighting here he's
[45:27]highlighting that true it doesn't mean that you always have to flex
[45:33]that you always have to pound your chest and stomp your feet
[45:38]is to control yourself IM he doesn't feel the need to engage
[45:45]in every possible conflict if they run let them run avoiding unnecessary
[45:54]conflicts Petty Pursuits that's a part of rul and notice another aspect
[45:59]of Ali's manood manliness he doesn't need a fancy horse you know
[46:04]some of our young boys they don't feel confident unless they're wearing
[46:09]the Louis Vuitton or the Gucci shoes or the heres belt the
[46:15]heres belt is ridiculously expensive $5,000 $6,000 you know I remember if
[46:22]you guys want to laugh I remember I went into a store
[46:23]I wanted to get a watch I like watches so there's a
[46:31]a brand it was so expensive that I try to block out
[46:34]the name of the brand it was called uh Peter pev or
[46:38]what what is it called so don't act like you guys don't
[46:39]know what I'm talking about yeah what is what's the what is
[46:44]it called yeah Subhan Allah it sounds like it's expensive so I
[46:47]went in there and of course they don't have prices on anything
[46:53]right and I should have known better so I said i' I'd
[46:58]like to try that watch so he takes it out and um
[46:59]he gives it to me and I'm like oh this is nice
[47:01]how how much is this watch he says it's $98,000 so I
[47:05]tried to play it off like it didn't phase me I'm like
[47:08]are you sure I thought it was 95,000 maybe if it's 95
[47:12]I'll come back in he says I don't need a fast horse
[47:21]because the confidence of IM doesn't come from these external embellishments he
[47:29]doesn't have to be ostentatious because his confidence comes from his heart
[47:35]and his heart is connected to Allah subhana wa tala and that
[47:41]is the essence oful inshallah tomorrow night we'll speak about Ali talib's
[47:46]relationship with fa and his relationship with women in general and how
[47:50]that is also another illustrious aspect of his manliness inshallah we'll see
[47:56]you guys all tomorrow night muhammedi Muhammad I would like to congratulate
[48:38]you all and I would like like to congratulate the IM of
