[0:10]from the sacred grounds of kufa this incredible monument to the unicity

[0:21]of allah traditions tell us that it is after mr durham the

[0:31]oldest masjid in all of human history it is where allah subhanahu

[0:38]wa ta'ala allowed angels to prostrate before adam it is the prayer

[0:49]ground of celestial beings it is where prophets adam first prayed to

[0:56]god and where nurake and ibrahim came it's a place that has

[1:04]so much history obviously prayed here but i think what's incredible about

[1:15]this place isn't so much its history but its future it's the

[1:21]fact that traditions tell us that this is where the imam will

[1:39]lead the world from some traditions even say [Music] those who are

[1:52]luckiest are the ones who live in the vicinity of this city

[1:56]the holy city of najaf and kufa which is now part of

[2:02]najaf and so the future of this masjid is so incredibly exciting

[2:11]that it really makes you think about the fact that our belief

[2:18]in the savior all our belief in the awaited imam who will

[2:26]cleanse the earth from injustice and oppression and fill it to the

[2:32]very brim with justice and equity and prosperity our belief in that

[2:43]isn't some abstract theoretical notion it's not just something that we believe

[2:52]in that lacks any nuance and detail rather it is linked to

[3:01]physical space it's something that we have very minor details about for

[3:11]instance the fact that he will be standing somewhere in this courtyard

[3:17]when he first announces his divine mandate the hadith says and it's

[3:26]attributed to emir the commander of the faithful allah [Music] the awaited

[3:42]savior the one who will rise it's as if i can see

[3:47]him when he is standing in this mosque and he is surrounded

[3:54]and circled by 313 of his most loyal lieutenants the companions of

[4:03]the imam the imam then describes them as the standard bearers the

[4:10]flag bearers of the mahdi who will rule the earth on behalf

[4:16]of god almighty such a beautiful description it sends shivers down my

[4:24]spine the imam describes how the imam is surrounded by these 313

[4:29]loyal individuals who will be his governors they will be as ambassadors

[4:34]they will be the ones to lead humanity into prosperity and away

[4:41]from the darkness that has befallen it for centuries and eons and

[4:46]then he says that he will bring out a scroll which has

[4:52]the seal and the signature of god's final prophet and in it

[5:00]he will have his mandate isn't it incredible my dear brothers and

[5:06]sisters that we have these prophecies prophecies that include so much nuance

[5:15]detail rich detail that inspire hope they inspire longing and yearning for

[5:28]a brighter better future for humanity and on that note i want

[5:38]to say a few things if i may number one you should

[5:44]have hope that no matter what difficulty you're going through no matter

[5:49]the hardship no matter how severe your trial that you should have

[5:56]hope because the world could use some hope we could all use

[6:02]some hope and there is no better source of hope and inspiration

[6:06]than our belief in the met because the mahdi represents the pinnacle

[6:14]of god's mercy being applied in this world god's love and benevolence

[6:24]being expressed as much as physical reality can withstand and so having

[6:33]hope in not just the world finally prospering and finding peace and

[6:39]spirituality but i think more importantly hope that we will get to

[6:49]see the represent the representative and the culmination and the embodiment and

[6:57]the epitome of god's most perfect creations imagine if you were told

[7:05]that you you'd get to meet prophet or prophet nu or ibrahim

[7:10]or musa or isa or our own prophet salallahu all of them

[7:19]the mehdi represents the personification of every single one of god's apostles

[7:29]and prophets and messengers so just that idea that we'll get to

[7:36]meet someone of that caliber someone like that actually set our eyes

[7:42]on his luminous beautiful face it again it's just so incredibly beautiful

[7:49]just to think of that moment could it be that we would

[7:56]also be here when the media reappears when he stands somewhere in

[8:01]the corners of this masjid and cries out is it possible that

[8:10]we get to see that day yeah one could only pray we

[8:17]could only hope we could only yearn and long for that it's

[8:24]possible in fact our yearning for that is instrumental in making it

[8:31]happen our longing for the day the imam reappears we've been told

[8:37]we have specific instructions that the more you pray the more you

[8:41]yearn the more likely it is and the sooner it'll happen they

[8:53]think it's far the doubters the imposters the liars the disbelievers they

[8:59]think it's too far but we see it we see it happening
