[0:15]I begin in the name of the almighty God, the compassionate, the
[0:22]merciful, the one who has created everything in utmost perfection.
[0:26]And may the peace and blessings of the Almighty God be upon
[0:30]his pure and beloved messenger, the peak of his creation, the symbol
[0:39]of humanity, the holy prophet Muhammed and his immaculate progeny of the
[0:49]B peace be upon them, especially the leader of our time, the
[0:54]awaited savior almi.
[0:56]May Allah hasten his reappearance and make us all amongst his sincere
[1:03]and dedicated servants.
[1:04]Allah subhana wa ta'ala states in the holy Quran.
[1:17]Oh you who believe, if you support the cause of God, Allah
[1:24]subhana wa ta'ala will support you and keep your feet fixed.
[1:31]Illuminate your hearts and minds with a very loud salawat.
[1:41]Ali is an endless ocean of contributions.
[1:48]When you examine his legacy, you find that he gives us a
[1:56]legacy for every aspect of our lives.
[1:58]When it comes to our relationship with our creator, who comes close
[2:05]to after the prophet sallallahu alaihi in showing you how to worship
[2:11]God, how to speak to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[2:15]When it comes to caring for those in need, you find was
[2:18]a pioneer, was a leader.
[2:22]When it comes to raising an amazing family, as we have discussed
[2:26]the last two nights, the Imam Alisam offers us many beautiful lessons.
[2:29]But one of the very important aspects of the life of is
[2:35]his support and defense for the religion of Islam.
[2:39]We as followers of especially on these nights, we have to be
[2:44]familiar with the sacrifices of Mu.
[2:47]It is very important to understand the historical stances of the Imam
[2:55]the defense of for Islam for we have to be familiar with
[3:04]the participation of Imam in many of those battles that represented turning
[3:10]points in the history of Islam.
[3:13]Without those sacrifices, make no mistake, you would not be where you
[3:18]are today, we would not have had the opportunity to receive guidance
[3:22]to know the path of the prophet sallallahu alaihi.
[3:26]It is through the sacrifices of in those battles that the religion
[3:34]of Islam achieves success.
[3:35]Yes, it's important to discuss social issues that impact us, family issues
[3:40]that we're all struggling with.
[3:42]However, at the same time, we must be aware of our history.
[3:45]We must have a proper analysis of the stance of in many
[3:53]of those events.
[3:55]Therefore, tonight in our discussion, I would like to shed light on
[4:00]the role of Imam in the battle of represented a turning point
[4:07]in the history of Islam.
[4:08]And the warrior of was none other than and in our discussion
[4:12]tonight we will examine why the prophet sallallahu alaihi set out to
[4:18]and what was the role of how with his valor and courage
[4:27]and bravery he saved the religion of Islam on that day.
[4:31]The prophet sallallahu alaihi wasall in year six, seven of the hijra,
[4:34]he returns from he concludes a peace treaty with the pagans of
[4:40]Mecca.
[4:41]That was a great victory for Muslims because now for the first
[4:45]time the pagans actually recognized Muslims.
[4:48]They accepted their existence.
[4:49]They accepted them as a reality by concluding a treaty with them.
[4:54]So the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasall comes back victorious with this treaty
[4:59]from Mecca.
[5:01]When he arrives the city of Medina Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala commands
[5:07]him to march to why did the prophet sallallahu alaihi go to
[5:11]the prophet when he came to Medina he established amazing ties with
[5:18]the interfaith community.
[5:19]The prophet concluded peace treaties with the Jewish tribes that settled in
[5:25]and around Medina.
[5:25]The prophet made an agreement with them.
[5:28]Let's live peacefully.
[5:31]We practice our faith.
[5:32]You Jewish communities practice your faith.
[5:35]You have your freedom.
[5:35]We have our freedom.
[5:36]And the prophet gave them amazing freedom.
[5:38]You know, they had the upper hand in the Muslim bazar market.
[5:45]They had a command on the economy.
[5:48]The prophet gave them that economic freedom to excel and benefit from
[5:51]the community of Medina.
[5:52]But then each one of those tribes one after the other they
[5:59]started to violate the contract.
[6:00]They violated the treaty and they showed their enmity to the prophet
[6:05]and to the Muslims.
[6:07]For instance, was a tribe in Medina.
[6:11]You know why the prophet exiled them?
[6:12]Once in in addition to the fitness that they would be causing,
[6:16]once they harassed a lady in the market, they uncovered her body.
[6:21]They started laughing at her.
[6:23]And then when Muslims came to defend her, they killed him.
[6:25]This is an act of war.
[6:29]The prophet sallallahu alaii was very tolerant with them.
[6:31]But when that happened, he said, "Enough is enough.
[6:32]I'm not going to kill you.
[6:35]I'm not going to fight you.
[6:36]I'm a peaceful man, but leave.
[6:37]you're no longer welcome to stay in this community and harass its
[6:40]citizens.
[6:41]And then you have the tribe of Ban.
[6:45]Banun actually attempted to assassinate the prophet when one day he was
[6:51]in a farmland.
[6:53]They tried to kill him.
[6:54]The prophet sallallahu alaihi also asked them to leave.
[6:59]So some of these tribes they went to that was their refuge.
[7:03]Let's all go to the powerful Jewish over there.
[7:07]And they despised the prophet.
[7:11]You know why?
[7:10]Because he did not come from their tribes.
[7:13]They were very racist.
[7:15]They had come to Medina waiting for the final prophet.
[7:18]That's why the Jews went to the Arabian Peninsula.
[7:22]Have you ever wondered why they left the Palestine area and they
[7:25]would go to Arabia?
[7:28]What's in Arabia?
[7:27]Bunch of deserts, nomads, pagans, mushiks.
[7:30]What would attract you as a Jewish person to go to Arabia?
[7:34]The only thing that attracted them was waiting the savior, the last
[7:39]prophet that they had read in their scriptures.
[7:40]The final prophet would emerge from Arabia.
[7:43]They went there waiting for him and they would give themselves patience.
[7:46]It's okay.
[7:47]Be patient.
[7:49]These pagans give you a hard time.
[7:51]Tomorrow that final prophet is going to emerge.
[7:53]Join him.
[7:53]You'll have the upper hand and you're going to crush these pagans.
[7:58]That's how they gave themselves patience according to the Quran.
[8:01]But when they realized he's not from Beni Isel, he's from the
[8:06]line of Isel, they said, "No, we're not interested.
[8:07]We're not going to follow you.
[8:10]We thought that the final prophet would be from our tribe.
[8:12]Sorry.
[8:13]Now that you're not from our tribe, we're going to fight you."
[8:15]And they really tried to kill the prophet.
[8:18]And then you find that they collaborated with the with the pagans
[8:27]at the battle of Kandak when 10,000 warriors came to Medina in
[8:31]order to kill Muslims and put an end to the religion of
[8:34]Islam.
[8:35]They constantly conspired.
[8:37]The prophet exiled them.
[8:39]But they didn't stop.
[8:38]So now you had this huge threat in at the fort of
[8:44]you have to deal with this threat.
[8:46]You know what was the population of 20,000 people in 10,000 fighters
[8:54]and over 2,000 strong warriors.
[8:59]That's a big threat.
[8:59]You have to address this threat.
[9:01]You know what was the population of Medina at this time?
[9:05]3,000.
[9:06]The entire population of the city of Medina at this time, year
[9:09]seven of the Hijra, is around 3,000 people.
[9:11]And you have a fort with 20,000 people, 10,000 strong warriors.
[9:15]And they have made it very clear any chance we get we
[9:21]will crush Islam.
[9:21]They made an alliance with the pagan tribe of which is around
[9:27]that any opportunity we get let's attack this prophet.
[9:29]Let's kill him.
[9:31]Let's put an end to these Muslims.
[9:32]You as a community leader you have to do something.
[9:35]So the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasall mobilizes his companions and 1,600 of
[9:39]them gather to go to he gives the standard and the banner
[9:46]which was white to the hands of how far is from Medina
[9:52]is about 160 kilometers north of Medina and the meaning of in
[10:00]the Jewish language means fort that's the meaning of and they were
[10:07]very rich, very well off.
[10:08]They had more than 40,000 palm trees in.
[10:11]So you can see what a hub this was.
[10:16]When the prophet was leaving Medina, some Jews who had stayed in
[10:19]Medina and they were leaving, you know, living peacefully with the Muslims,
[10:23]they told the Muslims, "Are you crazy?
[10:25]You're going to do you know what is?
[10:29]Have you seen the forts of Have you seen the armors of
[10:35]the men who fight there?
[10:36]Have you seen the archers?
[10:39]Are you crazy?
[10:39]Do you know where you're going?
[10:40]No one would think of going to.
[10:43]In fact, when the Arabs wanted to achieve victory over another tribe,
[10:47]always go and resort to come help us.
[10:50]Help us.
[10:51]No one in the history of Arabia dared to go to the
[10:57]fort of That's how fortified it was.
[10:59]That's how powerful it was.
[11:01]But this is he's commanded by Allah and he has with him.
[11:06]Nothing stops.
[11:09]He's unstoppable.
[11:11]So the prophet heads out to few interesting incidents happen on their
[11:17]way to one narration attributed to Abu Mus Alim which is found
[11:23]in multiple sources mentions that while they were going to the Muslims
[11:28]became loud ALLAHBAR they were shouting passing by valleys and mountains and
[11:35]going to the narration states the prophet sallallahu alaihi Al told them,
[11:40]"Calm down.
[11:42]Why are you shouting?
[11:44]If you think Allah is deaf, he's not deaf.
[11:46]He can hear you.
[11:49]He's not absent for you to shout like that.
[11:53]Be calm.
[11:54]You don't have to shout like that.
[11:56]Speak with an appropriate voice." This was a beautiful lesson the prophet
[12:00]taught his companions.
[12:00]Today, in many parts of the world, you see some people, mashallah,
[12:04]they're very loud.
[12:06]They go out with slogans and shouting and sometimes they give you
[12:10]the impression that they're not civilized.
[12:12]Honestly, that's not the sunnah.
[12:16]Yes, sometimes you might be in the battlefield.
[12:19]You're fighting.
[12:21]Okay, maybe you need to shout to scare your enemy, but you're
[12:23]traveling.
[12:24]You're in the middle of the desert.
[12:26]Why are you chanting like that?
[12:27]This is a lesson for us, my dear brothers and sisters, to
[12:30]lower our voices.
[12:32]Don't be loud.
[12:32]Sometimes you go to some places some massagit some shrines and there
[12:38]are some people who are so loud they affect your concentration you
[12:42]get distracted you cannot do your ibada properly they cause a lot
[12:47]of commotion right many of you who've gone to masjid haram sometimes
[12:51]it's difficult to concentrate on your ibada with all the commotion that
[12:57]people are doing yelling screaming pushing that's not who a believer is
[13:01]supposed to be so the prophet was giving a beautiful lesson to
[13:03]his companions, be civilized.
[13:04]There's no reason to shout.
[13:06]You think Allah's far for you to shout, he's here next to
[13:10]you.
[13:10]The second lesson the prophet might have been teaching them is not
[13:15]to be arrogant.
[13:14]When they saw their numbers 1,600, they felt powerful.
[13:20]Maybe pride overtook them.
[13:22]The prophet's teaching them be humble.
[13:23]Allah will give you victory.
[13:25]Don't think that you'll achieve victory just through your numbers.
[13:30]And then he told them, I'll teach you a word to say
[13:32]with calmness.
[13:34]Sayah, there is no power and might except by Allah.
[13:40]This is one of the phrases of paradise.
[13:42]The prophet says, one of the statements, beautiful phrases of paradise is
[13:50]say this with calmness, focus, concentrate, create an atmosphere of peace, don't
[13:57]cause commotion.
[13:58]So we find the prophet beautifully correcting the behavior of some of
[14:03]his of some of his companions on their way to.
[14:08]So they march, they go and they arrive at they arrive early
[14:11]in the morning.
[14:13]When the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasall arrives at he makes a very
[14:20]beautiful supplication, a very beautiful dua.
[14:23]You can extract so many beautiful lessons from the dua of the
[14:27]prophet when he arrived at the prophet raised his hands to the
[14:31]heavens.
[14:32]He says, What a beautiful lesson the prophet would give to his
[15:00]companions.
[15:01]Number one, the prophet says, "Oh Allah, the Lord of the seven
[15:05]heavens and everything that they contain, everything that they shade.
[15:09]Oh Allah, the Lord of the seven earths, either the planets at
[15:14]the time or the layers of the earth, the crust, the layers
[15:17]of the earth.
[15:19]Oh Allah, the owner of these earths and everything that they carry.
[15:23]Oh Allah, the lord of the devils and everyone they misguide.
[15:29]By the way, one beautiful aspect of the Arabic language is that
[15:35]you find words that sound very similar but they have a very
[15:40]different meaning.
[15:41]The prophet uses in the first phrase about the heavens is with
[15:48]the the sister of the the one as they say with the
[15:53]handle the big right.
[15:54]What does that mean?
[15:55]That comes from the word to shade something to cover something.
[15:59]your is your shadow in Arabic.
[16:03]But when the prophet uses the word to describe the deviation of
[16:07]shan he says is with the sister of the as they say
[16:16]which means deviation it's like subhan allah they sound very similar but
[16:25]they have a meaning that's very different that's the delicate nature of
[16:29]the Arabic language maybe Non-native speakers cannot differentiate between this.
[16:34]You know, they might say for both of them, but Arabic is
[16:39]very very delicate.
[16:39]Look at the dua of the prophet.
[16:41]He's teaching his companions, don't think you've come here to this battle
[16:45]because you want spoils of war.
[16:48]You want dunya.
[16:50]You've come here for Allah because Allah is managing this entire universe.
[16:55]He's giving them beautiful lessons inhed.
[16:58]Allah is the owner of the earth.
[16:59]Remember that Allah is the Lord of the devils who misguide people.
[17:07]Don't think the devils and evil can overpower God.
[17:10]Don't think they can trump the system of God.
[17:13]Of course not.
[17:15]Allah has allowed the devils to be active in order to try
[17:17]you.
[17:18]See how the prophet is even giving them a lesson on why
[17:23]evil exists in the world.
[17:23]Don't think these devils are doing that without the permission of Allah.
[17:27]Allah is trying you.
[17:30]accept this trial and oh Lord of the winds and everything they
[17:36]scatter.
[17:37]Without winds you could not live in this life.
[17:41]What is it that allows trees to pollinate and to bear fruits?
[17:44]It's the winds.
[17:47]What allows for the temperature variations?
[17:50]It's the winds.
[17:50]What allows for the water to come from mill thousands of miles
[17:55]in the form of raindrops?
[17:56]It's the wind.
[17:58]It's the wind.
[17:57]What allows oxygen to flow freely around the earth?
[18:01]It's the wind.
[18:03]Without the wind, you couldn't live.
[18:04]See, the prophet is going to a battle.
[18:06]But he gives them a lesson in don't forget the remembrance of
[18:08]Allah.
[18:09]Don't forget the system of Allah that he's created for you.
[18:13]Appreciate that.
[18:13]And then to conclude his dua, the prophet indicates his love for
[18:21]humanity.
[18:20]Yes, these buddies are enemies.
[18:26]They want to kill me.
[18:25]But oh Allah, Oh Allah, give me the best of this village
[18:30]and the best of its people and I seek refuge in you
[18:34]from the evil of this village and the evil of its people.
[18:38]The prophet starts with the good.
[18:40]He recognizes there might be good among some of these people.
[18:43]Not every one of them is a bad person.
[18:46]Yes, maybe some of their elders who are conspiring are bad.
[18:48]There are women there.
[18:51]There are children there.
[18:51]The prophet does not dehumanize his enemy.
[18:55]That's one beautiful lesson we learned from his legacy.
[18:57]Normally when you have an enemy, you stop seeing them as a
[19:02]human being.
[19:02]Look at what's happening today in Ukraine, right?
[19:05]Look at what's happening in Yemen.
[19:07]In the month of Ramadan, they bomb their neighbors.
[19:10]If they realize this is a human being, they wouldn't do that.
[19:13]I don't care about politics.
[19:15]You have a rivalry with another country.
[19:16]You have this, you have that.
[19:18]These are human beings who are dying.
[19:21]We dehumanize our enemies.
[19:22]Forget enemies.
[19:22]come to our own homes.
[19:25]Have you seen sometimes family fights, feuds, community fights?
[19:28]Believe me, I've seen a husband who dehumanizes his wife because of
[19:34]an argument, because of a misunderstanding.
[19:35]He no longer sees that she's a human being.
[19:39]He says the most destructive words.
[19:41]He curses her.
[19:44]He curses his in-laws, her family.
[19:46]He says things that honestly you could not say to any human
[19:50]being.
[19:49]There is a lot of abuse that goes on in our homes.
[19:53]We dehumanize each other.
[19:55]We forget that we're humans.
[19:56]We have our experiences.
[19:57]We have our emotions.
[20:00]Don't say these words.
[20:00]These words are very hurtful.
[20:01]No, we say them because we dehumanize.
[20:03]The prophet's teaching his companions, yes, they are our enemies.
[20:06]Yes, they've tried to kill us many times in the past before
[20:10]and they still are intent on killing us, but do not dehumanize
[20:14]them.
[20:16]Oh Allah, give us the best of this village.
[20:19]That was a beautiful way for the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasall to
[20:23]train his companions to see the humanity even in their enemies.
[20:29]And then after he makes this beautiful dua, he says in the
[20:34]name of Allah, let's now go to the fort of.
[20:37]So early in the morning, they arrive at the fort of there
[20:42]were farmers around the fort.
[20:44]They realize the prophet reaches with his companions.
[20:46]So basically now there's like a siren inside the fort to alarm
[20:53]them that there is an enemy outside camping.
[20:56]Theis could not believe it that the prophet made it there.
[21:01]You've come all the way from Medina with a,600 people only 200
[21:05]horsemen to fight us.
[21:10]Do you know our population?
[21:10]We're 20,000 in we have 10,000 fighters ready.
[21:15]They couldn't believe that the prophet was there sieging them.
[21:18]And it was a difficult battle.
[21:20]The siege on lasted several months.
[21:23]The prophet with the Muslims stayed in for several months.
[21:29]It was not an easy battle.
[21:30]But this was a big threat that the prophet had to address.
[21:32]If the prophet would not go to days later, months later, they
[21:39]would have destroyed the religion of Islam in its entirety.
[21:41]So this was by the command of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[21:46]Now when the prophet reaches the prophet sallallahu alaihi appoints Im Ali
[21:50]at the forefront of the army and then the prophet makes an
[21:59]announcement.
[21:56]Anyone who leaves the fort and comes to this farm next to
[22:02]us is amen is safe.
[22:05]I give you amnesty.
[22:05]I'm not here to fight you.
[22:06]I'm here to negotiate with you, but you're not wanting to negotiate
[22:11]with me.
[22:11]But if there is anyone who would like to leave, who would
[22:14]like to come, we will give them amnesty.
[22:16]I'm not here to kill anyone.
[22:17]The prophet makes this very clear.
[22:21]Interestingly, there was a black shepherd from Abbisinia who was owned by
[22:29]a Jewish.
[22:28]He hears this man is here with these companions.
[22:32]So he asks his owner, who's here?
[22:35]He tells him, "Some false prophet who's claiming to be a prophet."
[22:41]He says, "Really?
[22:41]Someone who's claiming to be a prophet?" He says, "Yeah, but he's
[22:43]a liar." This black shepherd wanted to meet the prophet.
[22:48]So he goes outside of the fort with his sheep that belonged,
[22:51]of course, to the and the Muslims captured him.
[22:55]They brought him to the prophet.
[22:58]He spoke to the prophet.
[23:00]He told him, "Can you tell me what your message is about?"
[23:02]The prophet summarizes to this black shepherd the teachings of Islam.
[23:06]He tells him that Islam is about worshiping Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[23:10]Islam is about praying, giving charity, fasting.
[23:13]The prophet summarizes the teachings.
[23:15]Then he makes a very heartbreaking question.
[23:20]He tells him Allah, you see that I am black.
[23:24]No one cares about me in my society.
[23:29]No one sees me as a human.
[23:30]People call me ugly.
[23:30]Look at look at the racism.
[23:36]Subhan Allah.
[23:33]If I join you and I fight, do I have a chance
[23:39]of being forgiven?
[23:41]What happens to me?
[23:41]If I come and I fight and I die, what will happen?
[23:45]The prophet tells him, you'll go to heaven.
[23:49]He told him Allah, me being black, if I die for your
[23:51]cause, I will go to heaven.
[23:55]You can see the racism.
[23:56]Sometimes it destroys the psychology of a human being where he really
[23:59]thinks he's worthless.
[24:01]That's why never put anyone down.
[24:05]A nationality, an ethnicity.
[24:05]There are some people who internalize the oppression.
[24:08]They think they really are inferior.
[24:10]This poor guy, he really thought he was inferior.
[24:14]He couldn't believe that God will take him to heaven because of
[24:16]what those had told him.
[24:19]Look at the racism.
[24:20]He told him, "Really?
[24:22]Will Allah forgive me and take me to heaven?" He said, "Yes,
[24:24]I promise you." He becomes so happy.
[24:27]He goes, he fights like a warrior.
[24:29]But before he goes to fight, he tells him, "These sheep don't
[24:36]belong to me.
[24:35]They belong to my master, the what do I do?
[24:39]Look at the am of the prophet.
[24:40]The prophet does not confiscate them." He told them, "Go and put
[24:45]them by the fort.
[24:45]Allah will take them back into the fort to the owner.
[24:49]Don't worry." They enter the fort when the when their owner sees
[24:52]that they've come without their shepherd.
[24:54]He knew that he betrayed the Kibaris and he joined the Muslims
[24:58]and he's fighting with the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam.
[25:02]As he's fighting this black shepherd falls as a shahed an arrow
[25:06]strikes him from the fort of he stri he's struck he falls
[25:11]to the ground they bring his body to the prophet sallallahu alaihi
[25:15]wasall the prophet prays on him the prophet sallallahu alaihi makes a
[25:20]dua for him and he says right now Allah is blessing him
[25:23]the with the rewards of paradise my dear brothers and sisters look
[25:27]at this black shepherd not one day in his life did he
[25:33]fast.
[25:33]Not one prayer or salah did he offer, but because of his
[25:37]good intention, because of his willingness to embrace the Allah subhana wa
[25:41]ta'ala forgave him straight to heaven.
[25:43]Not one salah in his life, but this was his fate.
[25:48]And that's what we learn from also as well.
[25:51]You repent even if it's the last minute.
[25:52]As long as you're alive, you're willing to sacrifice, Allahh will embrace
[25:58]you.
[25:56]Allahh will accept you.
[25:59]The prophet said about him just became a Muslim minutes ago.
[26:05]The prophet says, "But he's sincere.
[26:07]He's really looking for the h." That's how valuable your intention is
[26:12]in the eyes of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[26:15]So now the imam is at the forefront of the army.
[26:18]The battle begins and it begins by liberating the fort of Nahim
[26:26]because had about eight to 10 forts and these forts were very
[26:29]well connected.
[26:30]Some of them were connected with underground passageways and this made the
[26:34]fight very very difficult for the Muslims but Imam Ali Alisam is
[26:37]at the forefront of the army.
[26:39]My dear brothers and sisters, to show you the significance of and
[26:44]how much Allah and his angels pay attention to him, there is
[26:48]one fascinating hadith that states when the prophet sallallahu alaihi appointed Im
[26:51]Ali to be at the forefront of the army and you know
[26:56]who narrates this hadith in his book Sunni scholar.
[27:00]You have a in his book Sunni scholar.
[27:06]They've narrated this hadith.
[27:06]When the prophet appoints imi to be at the forefront of the
[27:14]army descends on the prophet looks at is smiling.
[27:17]Is laughing.
[27:19]The prophet tells him why are you smiling?
[27:23]He says I cannot help but love Ali.
[27:27]Out of my love for him, I am smiling.
[27:30]The prophet calls on IM Ali.
[27:33]He tells him, "Oh, Ali, do you know what just told me?
[27:36]He's smiling and he says that he extremely loves you." The imam
[27:42]says, "Jiba loves me." The prophet tells him loves you.
[27:45]The one who's greater than loves you.
[27:47]And that's Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
[27:48]This is in Sunni sources.
[27:52]Look at the attention I im Ali gets.
[27:55]Look at this man.
[27:54]This warrior comes and he smiles out of his love for the
[28:01]commander of the faithful out of his love for.
[28:02]So the fighting begins and one by one these forts are liberated.
[28:09]Now sometimes when these forts were liberated they would find food that
[28:13]was stockpiled in them.
[28:14]You know the Muslims at this time they're almost starving.
[28:18]They would eat grass.
[28:18]They would eat fodder.
[28:21]They didn't have any food.
[28:22]They almost were starving.
[28:23]So when they liberated one of these forts, it was full of
[28:29]food.
[28:30]They had stockpiled food for you know decades these.
[28:31]So they were able to take this food and save their lives
[28:36]for the first time after days and weeks.
[28:39]Finally the Muslims had some food to eat that gave them some
[28:42]energy and that gave them some power.
[28:44]So it took weeks to liberate these forts one by one.
[28:50]The prophet sallallahu alaihi wasall establishes a masjid in because this took
[28:54]such a long time.
[28:55]The prophet actually establishes a masjid and this gave Muslims a moral
[29:00]boost.
[29:00]We have a masjid here outside the fort praying with the prophet
[29:06]sallallahu alaihi this is our headquarters and this demoralized the because when
[29:10]they saw the Muslims establishing a masjid there they're like these guys
[29:14]are not going anywhere.
[29:14]They're here until victory.
[29:17]It was a beautiful technique by the prophet sallallahu alaihi.
[29:20]But then here is something interesting that happens.
[29:26]The strongest fort at was the fort of at this fort you
[29:34]had and his brother Alhar guarding it.
[29:37]No person in the history of that fort and in the history
[29:40]of Marhab was able to confront Marhab.
[29:43]He was the strongest Jewish fighter at.
[29:47]But then look at the plan of Allah.
[29:51]When Muslims are about to go to this fort up until now,
[29:53]up until now, Imm Ali is there.
[29:55]He's liberating fort by fort.
[29:57]When the time for the strongest fort comes, Im Ali becomes ill.
[30:03]The Imam develops an eye condition called in Arabic.
[30:09]Ramed is a type of eye condition, eye illness, eye ailment that
[30:13]affects your eyes.
[30:15]It's a type of optalmia or conjunctivitis.
[30:17]Maybe it's a virus that affects the eye such that you cannot
[30:21]see.
[30:22]You can only see a few centimeters in front of you.
[30:24]So the Imam Alisam goes to his tent.
[30:28]He can no longer fight because of his eye condition, but he
[30:31]still helped prepare the food for the Muslims so he can be
[30:33]productive and helpful.
[30:35]So, I im Ali Alisam is no longer there to be seen.
[30:38]And you had all these companions who make all these claims.
[30:42]Why is Ali getting all these accolades and trophies?
[30:44]We also want a piece of the pie.
[30:47]Okay, Allah now gives you the chance.
[30:50]Ali is out of the picture.
[30:54]He's ill.
[30:53]He cannot fight.
[30:55]Let's see you go and fight.
[30:57]Look at the historians from Bkari, from Muslim.
[31:00]I want you to see the Sunni historian how he describes what
[31:06]happens.
[31:06]States the prophet then gives the banner to Abu Bakr.
[31:10]He tells him go and liberate the fort.
[31:12]Abu Bakr goes with a number of his companions.
[31:15]They go to the fort and they come back.
[31:19]There's no victory.
[31:18]Omar Katab is given the banner the next day and he is
[31:24]told go to the fort, liberate it and come back.
[31:28]But again he comes back with no victory.
[31:32]You know how describes Omar's expedition to the fort?
[31:34]He says that when Omar Kab went to the fort, he started
[31:40]to tell his companions about the courage of Marab.
[31:43]Who would do that?
[31:46]You're the leader of your army, instead of boosting their morale, you
[31:50]scare them by telling them how great Mab is, how strong he
[31:55]is, what kind of muscles he has, what kind of armor he
[31:59]wears.
[31:58]When the prophet heard that he was disappointed he said why would
[32:04]you do that?
[32:03]Why did you do that?
[32:07]So he comes back and you know what are the words of
[32:09]the Sunni historian?
[32:12]He says he came back to the prophet sallallahu alaihi.
[32:18]These are not our words.
[32:21]These are the words of Sunni historians.
[32:24]His companions came back to the prophet accusing him of being a
[32:28]coward and he's accusing them of being the cowards.
[32:31]Each one's blaming each other for being the cowards.
[32:33]The prophet becomes upset after two days of failure.
[32:38]the the had an edge during these two days.
[32:41]They showed greater strength than the Muslims.
[32:45]The prophet says, "Why is it that some people come back with
[32:50]no victory?" Each one is, you know, hurling accusations on one another.
[33:00]They tell their leader, "You are a coward.
[33:02]You don't have courage." And he says the same to them.
[33:05]Why?
[33:05]The prophet becomes upset.
[33:06]And when the prophet becomes upset, he said his famous statement in
[33:11]history that reverberates until today.
[33:13]The prophet you know what he said the train ride will make
[33:22]this more memor memorable so you don't forget what the prophet said.
[33:26]The prophet sallallahu alaihi states Tomorrow I shall give the banner to
[33:46]a man.
[33:44]A man.
[33:46]That's the first description.
[33:47]These are the words of your prophet.
[33:49]He loves Allah and his messenger.
[33:53]That's the second one.
[33:56]The third one.
[33:56]Allah and his messenger love him back.
[33:58]That's the third one.
[34:02]The fourth one.
[34:03]He keeps going and going and going until he achieves victory.
[34:08]He's not a far is the one who runs away excessively.
[34:12]Those people who run away excessively, I'm not going to give them
[34:17]the banner anymore.
[34:17]Subhan Allah.
[34:18]Look at our history.
[34:20]Those people who the prophet described as being they ran away from
[34:27]the reality, from the h from the truth, they make them number
[34:29]one, number two, and number three.
[34:31]Honestly, is a qualified to be the Khalifa of all Muslims?
[34:37]When your own prophet labels you as the one who excessively runs
[34:43]away, you're qualified to be the Khalifa.
[34:45]You're qualified to be the leader of all Muslims.
[34:47]And these are the books of history all Muslims have narrated.
[34:51]What's wrong with our um who are the leaders whom we of
[34:59]the prophet leaders who were is that our pride?
[35:02]Is that our history that we're proud of that we put people
[35:05]who excessively ran away to be our leaders?
[35:08]These are the words of Allah.
[35:10]So the prophet makes the statement.
[35:13]But now the companions others they actually get happy because Ali is
[35:19]not in the picture.
[35:21]He is ill.
[35:22]So it's not possibly him.
[35:22]So it could be one of us.
[35:25]One of the companions of the prophet and this is mentioned in
[35:30]Sunni sources says that night we slept with eagerness.
[35:32]Who's going to have this honor tomorrow of carrying the banner?
[35:37]Ali is out of the picture.
[35:38]So it's definitely not him.
[35:40]He can't see.
[35:41]It's not possible that he's going to liberate the fort.
[35:45]So it's got to be one of us.
[35:46]So we all had hoped the prophet is going to give us
[35:50]the banner and we'll achieve victory and what an honor for us
[35:54]to be included in the statement of the prophet.
[35:57]So says we slept that night.
[36:00]Next morning we woke up we flocked to trying to see if
[36:05]we get that honor.
[36:05]Omar says he says I was stretching my neck.
[36:09]You know sometimes you stretch your feet your neck so you could
[36:11]be more visible from the crowd.
[36:14]He says, "I was stretching my net so the prophet sees me
[36:16]and maybe he'll give it to me." You just yesterday you failed
[36:19]and you came back.
[36:21]Why do you want it again?
[36:21]Subhan Allah.
[36:23]I don't understand this mentality.
[36:25]But he still had hopes after he heard what the prophet is
[36:29]going to promise.
[36:30]He still had hopes that he would get the banner.
[36:32]Everyone wants to hear who the prophet is going to choose right
[36:39]now.
[36:37]Suddenly the prophet breaks the silence and he says where is Ali?
[36:43]Where is Ali?
[36:47]They blame us for saying Ali myasool.
[36:51]Whenever the battle would intensify whenever there was no one else to
[36:59]save Islam he called Ali.
[36:59]Where is Ali?
[37:02]They told him Allah Ali has he has this eye condition.
[37:03]He's in his tent.
[37:06]He can't even walk.
[37:06]The prophet says, "No, go bring him to me." The companions go
[37:09]after they bring him to.
[37:13]He could barely see in front of him due to the severe
[37:17]eye pain and eye condition.
[37:18]He comes to the to the prophet.
[37:20]The prophet tells him, "Yeah, Ali, what are you struggling with?
[37:22]What's the matter?" He says, "Yeah, I can't see in front of
[37:29]me anymore due to this severe eye condition." Sunni narrations have narrated
[37:33]this, my dear brothers and sisters.
[37:35]They have narrated that the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasall took the head
[37:40]of in his lap.
[37:43]He took his blessed saliva and he wiped the eyes of with
[37:47]his blessed hands.
[37:51]Immediately was able to see.
[37:53]Im Ali says till the last day of my life no eye
[37:58]condition after that day ever affected my eyes.
[38:01]I never had pain in my eyes until the day that I
[38:02]was struck.
[38:04]This is the miracle of So now I imbi is healed.
[38:11]The prophet sallallahu alaihi is now eager to give him this honor.
[38:16]Who other than Ali can save that day.
[38:17]Thearies are now outnumbering the Muslims.
[38:20]They're about to win the war.
[38:21]But no one other than is fit for this job.
[38:28]The prophet puts the armor on.
[38:29]He gives him the sword of he tells him ali go to
[38:34]them.
[38:34]The imam says what do you want me to fight them for?
[38:37]What should I do when I get there?
[38:41]The prophet tells him number one negotiate with them.
[38:42]Tell them if they join us they become Muslim we'll be brothers.
[38:48]If they refuse they can stay as Jews no problem but they
[38:50]have to give up their arms.
[38:51]They can no longer conspire and kill us.
[38:54]Make an offer with them.
[38:57]Maybe some of them might be guided.
[38:59]And then the prophet makes his beautiful historic statement.
[39:11]If Allah guides one person through you, it's better for you than
[39:20]everything that the sun shines upon.
[39:21]So go and give them this offer.
[39:24]see if they accept.
[39:26]If they don't accept, they want to fight.
[39:28]At that point, then you have no choice but to fight them.
[39:31]And then the prophet sallallahu alaihi tells imam Ali, when you go
[39:37]to the fort, tell them that your name is Ali because in
[39:40]their scriptures your name is Ilia.
[39:42]They know that name.
[39:44]When you say that name, you will demoralize them because they know
[39:47]in their scriptures that Ilia is the one who brings down this
[39:52]fort.
[39:50]And then he tells him is here to kill me.
[39:57]Save me from this is so now the imam he has the
[40:02]armor.
[40:03]He has the prophet gives him his turban.
[40:05]He is going there.
[40:06]Listen to a statement of the prophet and the dua of Allah.
[40:11]The prophet tells him, "Yeah, Ali, go to your right is to
[40:15]your left is in front of you is behind you is is
[40:19]above you is the support of Allah and you have the dua
[40:25]of Allah." What greatness is that?
[40:30]Allah gives you the attention of the universe.
[40:33]Imagine if you have to your right to your left in front
[40:38]of you is behind you is the n of Allah above you
[40:40]and behind you the dua of do you have anything to fear
[40:45]who other than the than Im Ali in our history received such
[40:48]attention from God's greatest angels from the Imisam farewells the prophet he
[41:00]marches towards he's jogging toward he reaches which is the fort of
[41:05]he puts the banner at the base of the fort.
[41:08]There was a man looking from above.
[41:10]He told him, "Who are you?" He tells him, "My name is
[41:12]Ali." When he hears the word Ali, he says, "I swear by
[41:17]the one who sent Mus with the Torat.
[41:19]We're done.
[41:21]We're finished.
[41:20]If you're truly Ali, we're done.
[41:23]We have lost this battle." Alar, the son of Marab, comes forth.
[41:28]But althars the word Ali he's also intimidated and you know when
[41:35]the companions see alth they run away they leave by himself to
[41:38]fight at the fort they all abandon him when they see the
[41:42]size of that body but al with so much courage with so
[41:48]much power he deals a severe blow to Alar he kills Alar
[41:50]next who comes here this is the decisive moment next comes the
[41:55]strongest warrior at And that was Marhab.
[41:59]You know what Mhab was wearing on that day?
[42:04]He was wearing a helmet made from from a boulder, from a
[42:10]rock, from a stone.
[42:10]That was his helmet.
[42:13]You can imagine the size of his body for him to handle
[42:15]that weight.
[42:16]Imagine a boulder this big.
[42:17]He carved it.
[42:18]He put it on his head as an armor.
[42:21]How can you split that?
[42:21]What can bring down when he's wearing that and his other types
[42:28]of armors?
[42:26]But in front of you is He is the this is the
[42:35]the imam comes facing him is now very eager to kill.
[42:42]He was probably double the size of im like this is easy
[42:44]for me it's a small bite and then he recites lines of
[42:50]poetry knows who I am.
[42:56]This is Marab.
[42:58]I have my sword here.
[42:58]I'm a warrior who's been tried.
[43:00]They have said Marab never lost in the battle in in his
[43:06]entire history.
[43:06]You know what I Ali responded to him?
[43:07]The imam looked at him.
[43:10]He told him I'm the one whose mother named me.
[43:24]Why did the imam mention this name?
[43:25]You know when the Imam mentioned this name, Marhab started to shake.
[43:29]Marhab had a nursing mother who would breastfeed him.
[43:34]She raised him.
[43:36]Now either she was a fortune teller.
[43:38]Some say she was a soothsayer fortune teller, but that's probably not
[43:42]true.
[43:43]She had read in the scriptures that the one who kills Marab,
[43:46]his name is the king of lions.
[43:50]She had told Marab since he was a child.
[43:53]She told him, "No one can kill you except a man called.
[43:55]He is the one who will bring about your destruction.
[43:59]If you see him, run away from him." When Mhab hears this
[44:01]name, he begins to shake.
[44:05]This is Oh no, I better not mess with him.
[44:09]Mu narrates an interesting hadith here.
[44:12]He says at that pointl appears to sometimes he would take on
[44:17]certain forms.
[44:19]He appears in the form of a rabbi.
[44:21]He comes to Mhab.
[44:21]He tells him, "What's the matter?
[44:23]Why don't you go and fight?" He tells him, "This guy's name
[44:27]is Haid." He tells him, "So what?
[44:29]Let his name be Haidar.
[44:29]What's the big deal?" He says, "No, my mother when she was
[44:33]raised me, she told me don't mess with Haidar.
[44:36]I'm not going to mess with him." Tell him, "Come on, look
[44:38]at the size of your body." First of all, there's many hidars
[44:42]out there.
[44:43]Why do you think this is the Haidar that's going to kill
[44:45]you?
[44:46]There's other Haidars out there.
[44:47]Secondly, you're going to take the word of a woman with with
[44:51]the size of your body.
[44:51]Look at him.
[44:52]He's so smaller than you.
[44:53]You're going to take the word of a woman when men when
[44:56]when women get it wrong more than they get it right.
[44:58]I think was right on this one.
[45:00]Just kidding.
[45:04][laughter] He's wrong in everything.
[45:06]He tells him, "You're not going to take the word of a
[45:10]woman.
[45:10]Come on." So, he actually motivates him to go and fight.
[45:13]He comes running at with the power of Allah with the sword
[45:19]of he strikes him on his head.
[45:24]He splits the boulder open.
[45:26]The hadith states the strike of comes to the jaw of he
[45:33]drops.
[45:30]It was such a powerful strike.
[45:35]Everyone heard the strike of right after that announces in the heavens
[45:48]collapses.
[45:49]Then other they charge atam from every direction they take his armor.
[45:55]The Imisam does not have a sword now.
[45:58]It's taken from it.
[46:01]It's broken.
[46:00]And now even his armor is taken.
[46:03]You know what the Imam Alisam does?
[46:06]All historians have documented this.
[46:08]Ahmed Hel in his Musad.
[46:09]Go read the history.
[46:09]The Imam goes to the G door of he lifts the door
[46:13]of he uses it as a shield.
[46:17]He pushes them away until he liberates the fort of that day.
[46:20]They asked Allah, how did he pick up that door?
[46:25]The prophet says 40 angels supported him on that day.
[46:34]This is he picked up a door.
[46:38]When he threw the door on the ground later, 40 men came
[46:40]to move it.
[46:42]They couldn't move it.
[46:41]40 men.
[46:42]They tried to move the door.
[46:44]They couldn't move the door.
[46:47]And he threw it 40 cubits.
[46:48]That's about 40 feet.
