[0:03][Music] [Music] hmm is [Music] [Applause] in [Music] [Music] in [Music] [Music]
[2:06]following is the narration of the sermon of sayida zainab salam and
[2:16]the medjlist of yezidan sham all praises due to allah master of
[2:25]the worlds and peace and blessings be on my grandfather the prophet
[2:33]allah was right when he said evil will be the end for
[2:40]those who committed evil because they rejected our communications and used to
[2:47]mock at them oh yazid do you think that god has made
[2:52]you honorable and made us contemptible now that's in your belief you've
[2:59]held us as captives have blocked the earth zones and the heavens
[3:07]horizons and have left no solution for us do you think that
[3:13]your reputation before god has led you to victory you crow with
[3:18]pleasure now that the world has turned for you our affairs are
[3:22]arranged for you and our government is allocated to you get off
[3:29]your high horse have you not read in the quran when allah
[3:34]says let not those who disbelieve think that our granting them respite
[3:39]is good for their souls rather we grant them respite so they
[3:46]may add to their sins and for them there is a painful
[3:53]chastisement o yazid o you whose father was freed by my grandfather
[3:57]is it fair that you place your wives and ladies behind the
[4:04]curtain while the daughters of the prophet are taken from city to
[4:09]city as captives is it fair that you disgrace them and you
[4:14]unveil their faces so that all can see them from the stranger
[4:21]to the acquaintance from the noble to the ignoble while there is
[4:28]none to defend them how can i hope for sympathy and compassion
[4:32]from someone who came from the true deliverer of the noble and
[4:37]was born from the flesh of the martyrs oh yes eid you
[4:43]don't consider yourself a sinner nor a sin over this mortal blow
[4:49]you boast about your disbeliever ancestors wishing that they were present to
[4:56]see what you have done you poke the teeth of abi abdullah
[5:01]the heavenly progeny of abdul muttalib the children of abdul muttalib and
[5:10]the heavenly stars on earth but will be patient since soon you'll
[5:15]be joining them and then you'll wish that you were dumb and
[5:21]that you had not acted what you acted or said what you
[5:25]said we'll be patient oh allah give us our revenge and our
[5:35]jew right and give him a painful chastisement by allah you've clothed
[5:40]your own skin and flesh soon you'll meet the messenger of allah
[5:47]where distress turns into tranquility with the heavy burden that you have
[5:54]you've held his children as captives you've disgraced them and you've shed
[6:01]the blood of his house but do not forget what the quran
[6:05]says when it states do not count those who have died in
[6:11]the way of allah as being dead rather they are alive receiving
[6:15]sustenance from their lord enough for us is that god is the
[6:23]judge muhammad is the supporter and is the defender those who pave
[6:27]the way for you to dominate over us will find out whose
[6:32]army is weaker and whose thoughts are inferior although the plight has
[6:38]made me speak to you i find speaking to you of little
[6:45]value but i find scolding you is great therefore i'll continue to
[6:50]scold you the eyes are tearful and the heart is sorrowful how
[6:54]ironic it is that the members of the party of allah are
[6:59]killed by the members of the party of satan our blood drips
[7:04]from your pores and our flesh drips from your teeth but oh
[7:13]yazid however hard you try you'll never obliterate our love and our
[7:17]memory from the hearts of the people what you consider as booty
[7:25]today you will realize is indemnity tomorrow oh yes your ideas are
[7:33]unstable and your government is transitory soon you'll meet the lord and
[7:37]you'll hear the cry of the removal of the mercy and the
[7:40]curse on the people who were oppressors i thank allah for concluding
[7:48]the mission of the chiefs of paradise with prosperity and accommodating them
[7:57]with paradise all i ask allah is for the forgiveness and for
[8:02]the elevation of ranks for allah is the omnipotent the following was
[8:12]the sermon of the great female saints no doubt she deserves the
[8:20]title of saint or indeed the title of sainthood because without a
[8:25]doubt when we come to the term saint we either use it
[8:29]in our everyday language or we use it with religious connotations in
[8:34]terms of our everyday language whenever you come across somebody of impeccable
[8:39]pure character straight away you say that person's a saint because you
[8:44]recognize that the person's morality is the highest morality you recognize that
[8:49]their nature is the purest nature so when you talk of a
[8:54]person who you want to give the best character reference to you
[8:57]straight away say that that person is a saint in opposite to
[9:02]that person is a sinner there is an opposite between a saint
[9:07]and a sinner or a saint and a devil because a person
[9:09]who is a saint in our everyday language is someone in reality
[9:14]who you look at and they cannot put a foot wrong put
[9:17]them in a difficult moment or put them in times of prosperity
[9:21]and peace and you'll see that they cannot do any wrong so
[9:27]in our everyday language the term saint is applied likewise however you
[9:31]find that the term saint or sainthood has religious connotations as well
[9:37]if one was to look at for example religion such as christianity
[9:41]there are certain people who may be seen as saints in their
[9:47]lifetime or indeed saints after they die so you may have for
[9:51]example saint augustine on one hand or you may have somebody like
[9:54]mother teresa on the other you'll find that with sainthood in religion
[9:58]normally there are a number of key aspects that are related to
[10:04]a saint on the first level is shifa that there is a
[10:09]recognition of a sort of miraculous feature in relation to that personality
[10:12]so when you go to that personality shrine for example you feel
[10:17]that there is a chance that somebody who otherwise is unwell or
[10:22]otherwise is physically challenged may be cured by allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[10:27]because the name of the saint has been invoked ask anybody who
[10:32]has been for example to shun they will say to you that
[10:37]all of a sudden while you are visiting the grave of say
[10:42]this you feel that all of a sudden somebody has screamed when
[10:45]you go near them they say that someone blind can now see
[10:49]they say that someone who was paralyzed can now walk they say
[10:53]that someone who may have had a virus or an illness that's
[10:58]now gone because the first aspect of any saint is there is
[11:01]a concept of a cure within their character what we call shifa
[11:06]so you find that if for example you come near any area
[11:09]where a saint is buried whether in islam or other than islam
[11:14]the people expect some sort of remedy for their bodies from being
[11:20]around that area say this on the first level in being a
[11:24]female saint is related to the shifa aspect related to her shrine
[11:28]being a center of curing those who are sick or those who
[11:32]are unwell on the second aspect is shafa intercessory that a person
[11:37]feels if they ask god by mentioning zainab or mentioning the oppression
[11:44]against zainab or mentioning the loneliness of zainab or mentioning how zainab
[11:50]was a stranger or bringing the title of masa next to zainab
[11:54]then allah wa ta'ala would answer your because you've mentioned zainab ultimately
[11:58]allah is the one who cures allah is the one who answers
[12:02]supplications but there's an intercessory feel to any saint when you call
[12:09]out mother teresa for example some people did it's because they felt
[12:13]there's a connection between her and between god and likewise for us
[12:16]when we come to the female scent that is zainab there is
[12:19]a feeling of wasilla on the one hand and shafa on the
[12:24]other wasilla in this lifetime if for example somebody wanted to ask
[12:28]allah through the zainab and shafa i went on the day of
[12:32]judgment that on the day of judgment i ask allow me to
[12:37]have the intercession of this saint by the name of zainab the
[12:40]same way i'd want the intercession of the saint known as maryam
[12:44]or the saint known as khadijah for example so that's on the
[12:51]second level on the third level a saint for what reason on
[12:53]the third level because that you can have vows made with her
[12:58]name what you call a man or you call another or you
[13:03]call a suffra these things were part and parcel of those who
[13:06]for example either lived around the shrine of say the same allah
[13:11]or exist until today in parts of iraq or parts of pakistan
[13:13]or parts of iran that someone does a suffrage in the name
[13:16]of zainab alaihis some people do it every tuesday for example in
[13:20]the name of says so then the third aspect which is what
[13:23]which is the aspect of another using the name of zainab how
[13:27]many times in our cultures we have a man that's in the
[13:31]name of hazrat abbas bibi fatima these are all wonderful ways of
[13:35]connecting with allah with the bait that's on the third level on
[13:41]the fourth level a saint has this position of guardianship and a
[13:47]position of love any saint is either a guardian of a message
[13:52]or a person who's the object of love either the object of
[13:58]the love of other saints of allah like her brother hussain alaihissalam
[14:02]or the object of love of her followers what is called will
[14:08]i and walaya so she is the object of love of the
[14:11]followers and the guardian of the message of allah because the reality
[14:16]is that without zainab islam would not have been protected after karbala
[14:21]she became the guardian of allah's message on earth but the fifth
[14:27]area of any state is fundamental what is it it's that through
[14:31]the hardest trials and most difficult times they come out as a
[14:36]bright shining light look at any saint and you'll always see that
[14:38]they had to live lives of trials poverty for example loss of
[14:42]life loss of wealth torture oppression but at the end they look
[14:48]at the world with only seeing beauty rather than seeing negativity they
[14:53]look at the world and they realize that number one everybody is
[14:57]destined to die if rasool because if there's one person who could
[15:03]get away with it if god wanted to it would be him
[15:06]ultimately the saint looks at the world with a perspective that's a
[15:11]different perspective and that's why it surprises me when i see courses
[15:17]on gender and feminism that hardly ever is that matriarchal female who's
[15:24]speaking out about the inherent patriarchal authority normally who's mentioned aisha the
[15:30]wife of rasulallah is normally mentioned as the archetype female prototype role
[15:35]model because when she fought imam ali alayhis salaam at the battle
[15:40]of jamal and when she led thousands of soldiers to fight imam
[15:43]ali and when she led thousands of soldiers to fight imam al-hasan
[15:49]and imam al-hussein alaihi when she led that army many in gender
[15:54]studies would look at her and say that is true feminism that
[15:59]here is a lady who was leading an army of men against
[16:03]the caliph of her time of course to sum this contradictory when
[16:08]you see somebody telling you that my role model is shown you
[16:11]say why say because she led an army of men but an
[16:15]army against who as in surely you have a conscience that on
[16:17]the day of judgment you have to say that i admire the
[16:20]one who led an army against al-muhammad and against imam amir al-mu'min
[16:25]al-issalam but it's okay if a person wants to study this that's
[16:29]one framework but another framework is zainab's mother and zainab on the
[16:34]one hand you have zainab's mother who was the ultimate of sheery
[16:39]female sainthood because she is the greatest to have ever walked on
[16:42]the face of the earth who gave already a prototype in the
[16:45]feminist worldview that here is a lady standing up against the males
[16:49]of her time who are trying to confiscate her rights of property
[16:54]and inheritance who did zainab therefore learned this from from her mother
[16:59]that zainab in damascus stands in front of the male of her
[17:06]time in front of who the patriarchal inherited authority of the umayyads
[17:11]and shows that nothing's going to stop me from speaking out even
[17:16]though she knows she's a slap away although she's been slapped so
[17:22]much before and even though she knows she's a kick away even
[17:24]though she had been kicked so much before and even though she
[17:27]knew she's a whip away but she knew she had been whipped
[17:29]so much before but she showed for all females and males around
[17:34]the world that don't let the power structure in front of you
[17:38]degrade you stand up use the gifts that god's given you so
[17:43]for us when we look at say that zainab the female saint
[17:47]every aspect of intercession of cure of a relationship with god and
[17:52]relationship with love and relationship with trial emerges let us tonight examine
[17:59]the context of the emergence of the saint zainab when it came
[18:02]to sham and i'd like to do this in the following stages
[18:04]number one what had taken place just before this sermon and which
[18:10]lines of poetry were not only provocative but were actual kuffar of
[18:16]yazid and highlighted his upbringing number two how does she use the
[18:20]quran from the beginning to highlight the don't say allah loves everybody
[18:24]because there are some who do not receive allah's love number three
[18:29]how did she highlight to yezid that you crawl with pleasure now
[18:34]that our government is allocated to you but get off your high
[18:37]horse long life doesn't mean good human being number four how does
[18:42]she focus on the hijab and on the sitter and on the
[18:47]fact that that veil should not stop anyone from reaching the highest
[18:52]level number five how did she remind him about the fact that
[18:56]his grandmother was a cannibal and that just in case you forgot
[19:01]that's the type of family that you come from number six how
[19:06]did she show a person's body dies what a shaheed's legacy remains
[19:09]alive number seven how did she highlight that yazid you're from the
[19:15]army of shaytan anyone who says about you is from that same
[19:18]army and finally how did she highlight that however hard every empire
[19:27]tries however hard every single paid author tries you'll never remove the
[19:30]love of zainab from the hearts of the people let's examine this
[19:35]and dissect the topic in complete depth the context of what took
[19:41]place with sayada zainab highlights the kuffar of yazid bin morawiya the
[19:50]disbelief completely in the religion of islam because when you have some
[19:54]people who will say that yazid is a khalifa you shouldn't say
[19:56]much about him leave him alone don't say good but don't say
[20:01]bad don't curse and so on yazid quoted lines of poetry which
[20:06]were the most provocative lines just before say the zainab salam had
[20:09]given her son her sermon of course yes he had already been
[20:14]provoking he had cursed imam ali alayhi he had cursed imam al-hussein
[20:19]he had been poking the teeth of imam al-hussein he had already
[20:24]provoked them non-stop zainab was the saint a part of her sainthood
[20:30]is her purity and her immaculate nature she is not affected by
[20:36]his animalistic instincts she maintains her composure even when yazid had invited
[20:41]somebody who was sitting next to him who said to him that
[20:45]that young girl daughter of hussein i want her to be my
[20:47]slave and of course that daughter of the imam turned around to
[20:50]her auntie said auntie orphan and then slave is this fair say
[20:54]the zainab turned around to him and made it clear to him
[20:57]there's no way that you touch her my grandfather brought your grandfather
[21:01]into this religion it's because of him that your gran your father
[21:04]was guided so therefore you don't come near us she had already
[21:09]maintained her composure yes he'd came out with lines of poetry what
[21:13]were those lines yezid's grandfather from which side his great-grandfather from his
[21:20]mom's side was the leader of the opposition at the battle of
[21:25]badr by the name of babin yazid had loved his grandparents and
[21:30]his great-grandparents and he wanted to boast because this was a day
[21:34]of victory he would always repeat carbella for better he would make
[21:39]that clear we lost in better we won at so he made
[21:45]it clear that you know what this is the best moment for
[21:50]me to remind ali's daughter muhammad's granddaughter that we are now victorious
[21:55]he used the lines of poetry of a famous poet by the
[22:01]name of abdullah the son of zabara that was a famous jahali
[22:05]poet and in the poetry he changed the couple and added a
[22:08]couple of lines he said later as she better i wish my
[22:14]ancestors from badr were here now now better was how many years
[22:19]before this incident better was 59 years before this incident in other
[22:25]words the whole of karbala was the return of kofor and shirk
[22:28]versus islam simple as that don't bring me none of this benny
[22:33]hashim versus benny umayyapolito this is no this is islam he said
[22:38]later ashiyaki be [Music] he praises his ancestors boasts about them i
[22:54]wish they were here to see what i've done then he says
[22:59]what hashem played with i ask you the message of rasulullah is
[23:03]kingship no message of rasulullah is deen he says no in our
[23:13]eyes we never saw it as that you were a king for
[23:17]a certain period to play they played with kingdom there was no
[23:26]news that came and there was no revelation there's no why means
[23:32]i reject jibrael i reject that muhammad of course if you're capturing
[23:39]his granddaughter and putting her in chains i don't really think you
[23:41]believe he's a prophet and on top of that this whole idea
[23:46]of prophethood and islam i reject completely when he said that saying
[23:51]felt at this moment it's the moment the saint has to rise
[23:54]the moment that all of her abilities to be a guardian of
[23:59]god's message to bring the love of the people back to islam
[24:01]to be an intercessor for the people between them and allah with
[24:05]her immaculate nature has to emerge she stood up he has eaten
[24:09]everybody around her and she began and when she began what did
[24:14]she say straight away praising allah i ask you when you go
[24:18]through trials and tribulations how many of us say alhamdulillah even though
[24:21]we go through trials it's a test because you always have those
[24:25]doubts that creep into your mind mentally why should i say alhamdulillah
[24:30]look at what i'm going through alhamdulillah when everything's going well when
[24:33]things aren't going well i don't say alhamdulillah no say that zainab
[24:38]highlighted to us straight away all praise is due to allah master
[24:41]of all the worlds alhamdulillah straight away because she's highlighting that my
[24:47]lord has given me more than he's taken from me if you
[24:50]were to sit down and count how much allah has given you
[24:52]even with cannabilla and kufan jam she believed that allah has given
[24:59]her more than what allah took from her i said all of
[25:10]these you can count 17 18 20 25 have you counted the
[25:15]number of breaths i breathed on that way you counted the number
[25:18]of for example people who i was able to look at with
[25:23]my eyes that i was in good health and so on look
[25:24]if you count how many things allah has blessed us with it's
[25:27]a lot more than what allah has taken from us easier said
[25:30]than done by the way easier than done because when the crunch
[25:33]hits it's much easier for you to say i don't feel like
[25:37]praying and then you can go on this actual run of missing
[25:40]salah for six weeks in a row simply because things aren't going
[25:45]well it's on my terms when it goes well i pray when
[25:46]it's not i don't care about you no zainab said no in
[25:52]all moments always say allah will give you even more all praise
[25:56]is due to allah master all the worlds and peace and blessings
[26:00]be on my grandfather just in case the people of sham do
[26:02]not know who i am on my grandfather the prophet then she
[26:07]said a very important line where she made it clear that allah
[26:12]doesn't just love all his creation there is this myth that allah
[26:16]loves all his creation absolute lord of nonsense allah for example those
[26:26]who are pious allah loves the truthful allah loves the charitable but
[26:33]the same quran and hadith says allah dislikes the hypocrite allah described
[26:37]dislikes the liar allah dislikes the oppressor so when those people come
[26:42]and tell me allah loves all his creation and therefore maybe allah
[26:47]loves yazid you show me i as in allah why don't you
[26:50]show me in allah evil will be the end for those who
[26:57]committed evil because they rejected our communication and used to mock it
[27:04]she says allah says in the quran evil will be the end
[27:08]for those who committed evil because they rejected our communication not just
[27:12]because they rejected they made fun of it there are non-muslims living
[27:16]in london today they reject islam they don't make fun of islam
[27:19]they just say we don't agree with the theological concepts related to
[27:24]islam but they don't make fun yazid when he begins to poke
[27:27]the teeth of imam al-hussein is making fun of the religion yazid
[27:30]when he has taken muslim females as captives is making fun of
[27:36]the religion especially the granddaughters of rasulallah so those who come and
[27:42]say that allah says evil will be the end for those who
[27:45]committed evil they rejected our communication used to mock it then she
[27:48]said oh yes do you think god made you honorable now and
[27:53]made us contemptible now that the world has turned for you our
[27:56]government is allocated to you and our affairs are there for you
[28:01]you've blocked the earth zones and the heavens horizons and you've held
[28:04]us captives because sometimes yazid like kevin ziad they used to say
[28:10]if i'm bad why's allah put me here if i'm bad why's
[28:13]allah made me win and made your brother lose predestination and free
[28:19]will allah predestined that i will win when i killed your brother
[28:23]wasn't me was allah she looked at him what did she say
[28:28]she said you think that god's made you honorable because now you
[28:32]have government you clearly haven't read the quran let not those who
[28:36]think that we grant them long lives is good for their souls
[28:39]it's not we grant them long life we give them power so
[28:44]they may add more sins and for them there is a painful
[28:48]chastisement how many times you've seen dictators in power you're like this
[28:53]dictator lives for 70 years and my son dies at five this
[28:58]dictator lives for 75 years and this mawlana died at 35 this
[29:02]dictator lives for 81 years and this islam is executed at 36
[29:06]allah says don't worry because we give them long life this is
[29:11]their dunya let them enjoy because in for them there is a
[29:16]painful chastisement i've seen people who say if really god exists why
[29:18]is it bad people get all the wealth bad people get all
[29:22]the money bad people get all of this and we don't get
[29:24]anything no no allah saying let them let them let them enjoy
[29:29]these people for them there's a painful chastisement she continues by saying
[29:32]oh yes he'd oh you whose father was freed subhan allah this
[29:38]is a huge line oh you whose father muawiyah was freed by
[29:42]my grandfather notice she is not saying your father converts to the
[29:49]religion of allah with reflection and contemplation and was a great sahabi
[29:54]of my grandfather maha we are the most you could give him
[29:55]as a sahabi as a favor a job that he was a
[30:00]scribe of the prophet peace be upon that's the most you could
[30:04]give him but this is the stupidity of our history the man
[30:07]who was victorious at bader and and is the same level as
[30:14]a scribe as this islamic history is full of rubbish i tell
[30:19]you this religion it has certain parts where the people wrote history
[30:23]really mocked the religion the man who has an apple will look
[30:27]at ali and mohawk and say ayna how in god's name is
[30:31]a man who's been part of this religion all this time put
[30:34]on the same level as a man who rasulullah freed freed when
[30:39]you free someone who'd you free you free a prisoner don't you
[30:42]you're free an ex-convict don't you otherwise why are you freeing who
[30:46]are you freeing on the day of the opening of mecca mohawk
[30:50]we are free the rest of you all of you are free
[30:54]go ahead she says is it just is it fair or son
[31:01]of those who are freed not those who converted not the muslims
[31:05]in other words she's saying you know what your dad is your
[31:10]dad's an ex-con prisoner the one of the most evil people and
[31:13]my grandad let him out of prison as amnesty on the day
[31:17]of the opening of mecca do you know that line how much
[31:20]bravery you need to say honestly do you know what bravery you
[31:22]need because literally there and then he could have all that someone
[31:24]just beheaded her there and then but zainab was highlighting slowly just
[31:29]because i'm a female doesn't mean that i cannot break the power
[31:32]structure of the time i can destroy the poison that sits in
[31:35]sham and has sat for so long because in zainab's eyes and
[31:40]this sermon that poisonous weed didn't begin with yazid poisonous weed had
[31:44]grown for a long time it's been there existing for a long
[31:50]time oh yazid oh you whose father was freed by my grandfather
[31:53]is it fair your wives are all protected and covered and the
[31:58]granddaughters of the holy prophet peace be upon his family are taken
[32:01]as captives as in when she's saying that she wants sham to
[32:05]listen not yet she knows yazid is a gun case yes he
[32:10]is pure filth on earth but the people of sham may be
[32:13]the propaganda that's affected them they might change their mind they might
[32:16]listen and think to themselves that what's going on this is not
[32:20]right what is she saying that the granddaughters of rasulullah remember many
[32:25]of these people of sham had either hate for imam ali which
[32:29]i'll come to in forthcoming lectures or some of them still had
[32:34]this reverence for the prophet peace be upon his family so when
[32:37]she says the granddaughters of rasulullah some of them will be thinking
[32:41]hold on a minute granddaughters who's she referring to and from there
[32:45]she then goes on to say what is it fair that you
[32:50]disgrace us by unveiling our faces you see for her the sitter
[32:55]what we later called the hijab was fundamental in her sainthood you
[33:01]could be someone who's knowledgeable and you could be someone who for
[33:05]example is loved but there still needs to be a balance of
[33:08]the physical and the social modesty male or female we say when
[33:14]it came to the veil you know very well that they had
[33:17]snatched it off according to some narrations that snatched it off them
[33:21]somewhere in kerbela or in kufa or in sham somewhere along the
[33:28]lines when she says is it fair that you disgrace us by
[33:30]unveiling our faces it means that part of my sanctity as a
[33:37]saint was even my face is not shown to anybody that's why
[33:42]you find people like allah may allah bless your soul would mention
[33:47]that this covering of the faith can at times be widely obligatory
[33:52]where some mention for example if you believe your wife is beautiful
[33:55]and people look at her then she would have to cover her
[33:59]face others might say it's optional say that zainab says is it
[34:01]fair that you disgrace us by unveiling our faces nobody used to
[34:06]know what zainab salam used to look like except imam ali alayhi
[34:10]salaam except her husband abdullah bin jafal accepted now she says is
[34:16]it fair oh yes that you unveil our faces today we have
[34:19]many lovers of cedar zainab amongst the girls in our community amongst
[34:23]the ladies in our community many of them in some cases are
[34:27]not given confidence when they start covering themselves covering their hair only
[34:31]forget the face they cover their hair only and you find some
[34:34]people in the community attacking them judging them telling them you don't
[34:38]look good not giving them respect on the country what you're doing
[34:43]you're going in the line of say that and we have some
[34:46]girls who don't cover try and now start with these majalis going
[34:52]on the path of zainab alayhis salaam zainab is not just a
[34:55]story for you to cry from she's telling you that look part
[34:58]of my sainthood and purity in the eyes of allah which some
[35:02]believe affords her and asthma was that i cared that i had
[35:08]a certain sanctity to my physical and my social appearance there are
[35:12]some will say to you i won't wear the hijab but i
[35:16]have a good heart there's some who'll wear the hijab but have
[35:18]evil hearts we need to look at the balance of the two
[35:21]you can wear a hijab and have a good heart why is
[35:24]it that one side looks at those who are covered and say
[35:27]you know the girls who wear hijab they're all hypocrites the other
[35:30]side you know that girl doesn't wear hijab she is not religious
[35:33]no no try and not judge each other and try and build
[35:39]together zainab and kulthum and the ladies built together in sham they
[35:42]stood firm with each other they weren't judging each other you don't
[35:44]wear hijab that means you're evil or if you wear hijab you're
[35:49]a hypocrite there's good apples and bad apples everywhere but there needs
[35:51]to be an encouragement she says is it fair that you disgrace
[35:55]us by unveiling our faces so that everybody can see us from
[35:59]strangers to the acquaintance sham had some people who knew rasulullah like
[36:05]was passing by and it had strangers who don't even know rasulallah
[36:15]and there are dogs in charm as well there are people who
[36:20]are evil while there is none to protect us and then she
[36:23]blatantly cuts him the way you cut asha shower how did she
[36:26]cut him she said to him how can i hope for sympathy
[36:31]and compassion from someone who came from the true deliverer of the
[36:37]noble and from the flesh of the matter this is pure outright
[36:40]tabarra in one line the jew yazid how do i expect sympathy
[36:43]and compassion from someone like you your flesh has come from a
[36:48]cannibal grandma his grandma the piece of filth on the earth was
[36:51]a cannibal she was a cannibal who used to eat who each
[36:55]human being like hamza alayhi salaam cut up his liver and give
[37:00]it to me i ask you you expect what to come from
[37:05]naturally honestly someone whose grandmother is a cannibal disgusting human being hind
[37:09]was and they try and make an excuse for her i don't
[37:13]mind let them try because their framework has nothing to do with
[37:17]mine but they try they say that you know what she converted
[37:18]she converted and became religious later might as well say everyone became
[37:21]religious everyone the ex-convict became religious the cannibal became religious and they
[37:28]tell me you have this concept called infallibility and i've only got
[37:31]12.
[37:31]imagine you guys how many you have so hint what did he
[37:35]say he said yazid said clearly he looked and said zainab looked
[37:40]at him she said how do i hope for sympathy and compassion
[37:43]someone who came from true deliverer of the noble born from the
[37:46]flesh of the martyr oh yes you don't consider yourself a sinner
[37:51]over what you've done he didn't believe he had sinned why why
[37:53]have i sinned what's the sin nor do you consider yourself a
[37:59]sinner over this mortal blow you boast about your disbeliever ancestors remember
[38:04]what did he say i wish my ancestors from better way later
[38:11]she says you boast about your disbeliever ancestors he used to boast
[38:22]about them she replies to him you boast about your disbeliever ancestors
[38:25]wishing that they were present to see what you've done you poke
[38:30]the teeth of abi abdullah imagine imagine where islam had reached while
[38:37]it breaks the heart and even a person chokes just thinking about
[38:46]it believe you me and he gets the stick and he pokes
[38:56]the teeth which animal would poke the teeth of a decapitated head
[39:04]i ask you who would do that my dear brothers and sisters
[39:07]this is the islam that we're proud of what you said to
[39:12]me anyone can become khalifa here there you go there you go
[39:16]you had your wish anyone became khalifa yes it became khalifa pokes
[39:19]the teeth she says you poke the teeth of abba abdullah the
[39:23]children of abdul muttalib the heavenly stars on earth what a description
[39:29]heavenly stars on earth and then she says but we'll be patient
[39:36]fundamental for the saint in the face of trial is the archetype
[39:42]of patience believing in allah that allah has with the patient we'll
[39:48]be patient since soon you'll be joining them you're going to die
[39:50]two years after this he died then you'll wish that you had
[39:56]not said what you said or acted what you acted you'd wish
[40:00]that you were deaf and dumb so you wouldn't say what you
[40:07]said or acted what you acted then she prays to allah in
[40:10]front of yazid because she knows the power of a female saint
[40:14]or the power of any saint is the dua they constantly have
[40:16]with god that relationship because imam ali said dua is the weapon
[40:21]of the believer so what did she say she said i pray
[40:26]to allah that he gives us our jew right takes our revenge
[40:30]gives him a painful chastisement have you ever seen bravery like zainab
[40:36]maybe her mother fatima and that's why you find after that she
[40:40]said oh yazid you've now clothed in your own skin and flesh
[40:45]that you've virtually laid your grave for yourself you will soon meet
[40:50]the messenger of allah turns distress into tranquility with the heavy burden
[40:56]that you've had you've held his children as captives all these children
[41:00]were next to her you've disgraced him and at the same time
[41:03]what have you done you've shed the blood of his house all
[41:07]but then she makes a statement to everybody in sham but you've
[41:09]all read the verse of the quran look how fundamental the quran
[41:12]is to zainab to the saint she says you've read the quran
[41:16]what does the quran say don't count those who have died in
[41:19]the way of allah this is pouring cold water on fire don't
[41:23]count those who have died in the way of allah as being
[41:28]dead don't worry they are alive receiving from allah my brother you
[41:33]think you've killed him my brother's legacy is above the grave my
[41:37]brother you think you've decapitated his head my brother's message will continue
[41:42]forever my brother you think you finished him he's just moved to
[41:45]a world known as barzach and in that world he's the highest
[41:49]don't count those who have died in the way of allah has
[41:51]been dead rather they are alive receiving from that enough for us
[41:54]is allah with us yes is rasulullah with us yes is us
[41:59]yes that's enough for us and those who pave the way for
[42:03]you to dominate over us yes you're not the problem there are
[42:09]those who pave the way for you who why do they tell
[42:13]you don't do allah not on yazid why why do they say
[42:16]don't do lana if you do you must do on the one
[42:21]who appointed yazid and if you do lana on the one who
[42:22]appointed yazid then the dominoes keep falling who appointed who who appointed
[42:28]who who appointed whom those who paved the way for you to
[42:31]dominate over us we'll soon find out whose army is weaker we'll
[42:36]soon find out whose thoughts are inferior oh yes it although the
[42:40]plight has made me speak to you this is this is this
[42:45]world it's made zayn granddaughter of rasulullah speak to yazid grandson of
[42:49]abu sufyan this is this world don't think that the world when
[42:55]it hurts you you're not the only one it hurts zainab daughter
[42:59]of ali although the plight has made me speak to you i
[43:03]find speaking to you as head of literal value but i find
[43:08]scolding you great therefore i'll continue to scold you i'm not going
[43:12]to stop this is the moment i'm going to finish you this
[43:16]is the moment everybody realizes my position but also the message of
[43:22]my grandfather rasulullah and who was victorious at carabella and victorious at
[43:28]fedex and so on and so forth what did she say she
[43:30]said although the planets made me speak to i find speaking to
[43:34]you of little value what's calling you is great therefore continuous called
[43:38]you the eyes are tearful the heart is sorrowful how ironic it
[43:41]is that the members of the party of allah are killed by
[43:46]the members of the party of shaytan she said members of the
[43:53]party of of shaytan we are from the hezekiah of allah we're
[44:11]the pure ones from the hezbollah and you are the nasty ones
[44:14]from the hezbollah shaitaan our blood drips from your pores and our
[44:24]flesh drips from your teeth and then she looks at him what
[44:27]you think is booty today tomorrow is indemnity it's a beautiful line
[44:32]today where your booty you want to parade us in a matter
[44:36]of time you will see its indemnity you'll see that it hasn't
[44:41]carried you anywhere your ideas are unstable yes and your government transitory
[44:46]every one of you or my years one will end up killing
[44:49]the other fighting the other eventually you'll fall within a very short
[44:54]time then she said however hard you try you'll never ever obliterate
[44:59]our love and memory from the hearts of the people i had
[45:02]opened the haidari islamic center just a couple of weeks ago and
[45:05]i saw the alam of imam al-hussein there at the haidari islamic
[45:09]center and at that moment i said truly zainab was right when
[45:13]she said to yazid however hard you try you'll never obliterate our
[45:16]love and our wherever we will be in the world we will
[45:29]always utter those lines you can go to magillus anywhere on this
[45:35]earth right now showing zayn of what's victorious in charm and then
[45:39]what did she do she said i thank allah this is the
[45:42]beauty i begin with thank i end with thank you i thank
[45:48]allah who gave victory and prosperity to the chiefs of the youth
[45:51]of paradise and accommodated them with paradise and i ask allah to
[46:02]continue to raise their status and elevate them yazid knew at this
[46:06]moment zainab the saint of islam had virtually finished him and he
[46:13]knew at this moment that shyam slowly there was a change occurring
[46:16]he also knew at this moment that imam saying abedin sermon would
[46:21]be the double combo that was needed for them to eventually return
[46:26]it's one thing saying all these lines it's another thing holding the
[46:32]pain inside you a saint publicly they'll always show you to maintain
[46:39]your strength to allow you to have patience whereas deep down their
[46:43]heart is broken deep down you know that they've seen so much
[46:47]sorrow deep down for them it's extremely difficult can you imagine the
[46:52]scenes when she'd walk through the bazaar how many would poke her
[46:55]waste with spears imam zainal abedin says i would see them poke
[47:01]their spears on the waist of my auntie zainab how many of
[47:05]the children was zayn of the one who had to come near
[47:08]them to make them sleep i asked you who would help zayn
[47:11]up sleep how many children did zayna put on horses with no
[47:16]saddles i asked you who put zayn upon these horses how many
[47:20]cities did zayn have to go through where stones were pelted on
[47:24]al-muhammad who was there to remove the wounds from zainab hassalam that's
[47:31]why when they left shem and they returned to kerbela she headed
[47:37]towards the grave of abel saleh when she got to the grave
[47:46]of abel fatla it's as if she wanted to open her heart
[47:49]trouble for the where were you when they slapped the chick of
[48:00]your sister oh my belfan where were you in the ruins of
[48:03]sham oh abel father where were you where were you when they
[48:15]took us and they poked our ways with spears where were you
[48:23]my dear when they pulled the hijab of her faces then from
[48:28]there she went to abba abdullah when she came to imam that
[48:41]you gave me except one daughter i left her in sham she
[48:46]couldn't take seeing your head in front of her she did farewell
[48:50]to abbas and bit farewell to hussein but you know what was
[48:54]more difficult for her returning back to medina returning back to the
[49:02]house returning back to habit when she entered the house she saw
[49:09]two empty mattresses on the bed she realized that her boys were
[49:14]no longer with her all this time she held in her tears
[49:20]until when she saw the beds of own and muhammad it broke
[49:27]the heart of zainab alaihis i held in those tears because hussein
[49:35]had nobody to cry for him she also had a young daughter
[49:42]of imam al-hussein she had to go and talk to imagine the
[49:45]burden on that young daughter she looked at her eyes and fought
[49:58]but looked at the eyes she said sorry lady i don't know
[50:03]who you are i have not seen you you seem to know
[50:06]me she said to oh my niece don't you recognize your honesty
[50:10]say never any lady wants another lady to console her it's only
[50:34]natural that sometimes that warmth is there between two ladies but when
[50:39]zainab went to the house she told me before allah don't let
[50:43]anyone come to the house i need to my alone time i
[50:45]need to mourn for my brother alone all of a sudden the
[50:51]door knocked the moment the door knocked filled the window i was
[50:54]expecting to tell the lady that you can't come zainab is alone
[50:57]she wants to mourn the moment brother opened the door she saw
[51:02]abuse his mother and the mother of four she saw me she
[51:20]turned round to zainab and said to her that you asked me
[51:25]not to open the door but in front of me is the
[51:29]mother of four the mother of abbas doesn't feel abbas no more
[51:36]what [Applause] alongside say the zayn of allah allow us to receive
[52:23]her where seal and this world and her shafa and the hereafter
[52:26]ya allah allows us to visit the shrine of say the zainab
[52:30]and say that there are many of our brothers and sisters who
[52:33]are feeling unwell on a night like this with many different complications
[52:37]and health illnesses some are suffering from heart issues some are suffering
[52:43]from cancer some are suffering from kovid [Music] and our families and
[53:27]the originators of this medjlist and the members of the production of
[53:30]imam hussain tv and to bless all of them with the recital
[53:35]of asura and we welcome our recital muhammad abbas kareem with the
[53:41]loudest of yours [Music] [Music] [Music] oh [Music] [Applause]
