Did the Shi‘a, in particular Ibn al-‘Alqami commit treason by supporting the Mongols in their invasion of Iraq and helping them overthrow the Abbasid Empire? This is a topic that has hardly been discussed. In this debate, Shaykh Ahmad Salman and Shaykh Hazim Taha argue whether or not the Shi‘a are to blame - or if the Caliph of that time is responsible for the overthrowing of the Empire.
