This video is a critical study of a ḥadīth that is famously known as "Ḥadīth al-Khayṭ", it is a tradition that depicts Imam Muḥammad al-Bāqir (upon him be peace) conducting a miracle wherein he takes a thread and proceeds to wiggle it, resulting in an earthquake that kills a tremendous number of people in Medina. The lecturer in this video, Shaykh Ibrahim Jawad proceeds to outline the numerous issues that this ḥadīth possesses, in addition to providing information about the doctrines of Nuṣayriyya and the Ghulāt in the process of doing so.

In the name of Allah,

In this video Hassan al-Qadri explores the profound concept of Islamic patience and its connection to freedom. In a world filled with chaos and uncertainty, the teachings of Islam offer a beacon of wisdom and solace, highlighting the transformative power of patience in our lives. In Islam, patience is not merely the ability to endure trials and tribulations, but a spiritual virtue that leads to inner peace and liberation of the soul.

We aim to shed light on how practicing patience aligns with the quest for true freedom. From overcoming adversity to navigating life's challenges with grace and resilience, Islamic patience offers a transformative lens through which we can experience a profound sense of liberation.

In the name of Allah,

Very often one will hear the regurgitated statements “the Shīʿa hate the Ṣaḥāba”, “the Shīʿa say all the companions are apostates except three”, “the Shīʿa condemn and disassociate from the great companions of the Prophet” and other such accusations. In this lecture, Hassan al-Qadri elucidates on what Shīʿī scholarship has said about the Ṣaḥāba of the Holy Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him and his progeny), in terms of the different categories they fall into and the criterions for these groupings.

Important note from Hassan al-Qadri:

I described the companions from the first category as being “Kuffār Murtaddīn” (Disbelieving Apostates), however in hindsight I have realised that this can be easily misunderstood. What was intended is that this will be the condition they find themselves in, on the Day of Judgement, when their deeds are presented for all to see, and not that they fell out of the fold of Islam at any point in history from a jurisprudential standpoint. In order to listen more on this subject one can watch a previous lecture of mine, entitled: “The Final Cut: The Companions of the Prophet in Shīʿa Thought.”

In this short talk given by the Sayyid, some reports regarding the greatness and importance of memorising the Qurʾān are shared and commented over. Some of the reports within have already been translated in the following compendium by Ammaar Muslim (may Allah preserve him), which can be found and accessed here:

https://shiiticstudies.com/202....1/07/19/the-quran-a-

Note: Some translations of the reports were slightly adapted and changed from the original work either to match the context of the speaker's words, or in terms of its spelling so as to fit the British usage.

Allah, the Exalted says in His Holy Book: {We shall send those who reject Our revelations to the Fire. When their skins have been burned away, We shall replace them with new ones so that they may continue to feel the pain: God is mighty and wise.} [Q4:56] If Allah replaces these skins with new ones, then sin has never been conducted by the person with this skin, so how is this just? Watch Sayyid ʿAlī Abū al-Ḥasan's reply to this question, and see whether this question comprises of a fallacy or not.

In this video, the Sayyid responds to a questioner who asks whether the Qurʾān that is present between us today has been subject to distortion or not. Instead of going through the traditions related to whether this has indeed been the case, the Sayyid outlines some epistemological points to bear in mind when trying to evaluate this claim. He delineates general historical principles and facts that cause us to deem such an occurrence, as historians, to be extremely far-fetched. He then outlines the possible goals of a distorter and contrasts these objectives to what is found within the Qurʾānic text, whence we find that had these been the objectives of the distorters, then we would not possess certain verses and contents of the Qurʾān that we do today.

In this insightful video, Sayyid Ali Abu al-Hasan imparts his wisdom on the transformative journey of becoming a dedicated reader. Entitled "What Should I Read?," this guide is indispensable for anyone wishing to deepen their engagement with books. Sayyid Ali starts by underscoring the significance of setting a clear objective for your reading endeavours. He advises viewers to first ascertain their subject interests to ensure they select literature that enriches and benefits their lives, steering away from materials that offer scant value.

Sayyid Ali doesn’t merely focus on what to read; he explores how to cultivate a reading habit that endures. One of his principal strategies includes minimising distractions, such as the habitual checking of phones, which frequently impedes our ability to immerse ourselves in the realm of books. Moreover, he advocates for the formation of friendships based on shared interests in reading. Such connections not only enrich our social lives but also bolster our commitment to reading. He boldly suggests reevaluating friendships that do not contribute positively to our personal development, encouraging viewers to surround themselves with individuals who inspire learning and intellectual curiosity.

Whether you're an established bibliophile or someone looking to embark on a new chapter in the realm of reading, Sayyid Ali Abu al-Hasan’s advice is extremely important. His practical steps towards becoming a more devoted reader remind us that reading is not merely an activity but a journey towards self-improvement and knowledge.

In this video a questioner proceeds to ask the Sayyid whether our heritage of traditions from the Ahl al-Bayt (upon them be peace), is sizeable enough for us to formulate a coherent and comprehensive doctrine on theological matters pertaining to Allah (the Mighty and Majestic). In addition to whether we can deem ourselves needless of ideas such as Waḥdat al-Wujūd or engaging in Taṣawwuf as a consequence.

How often have you heard this question repeated? Is the question even correct? And if so, what is deemed as valid proof on this question? Sayyid Ali Abu al-Hasan takes us through the steps in how to break down this question very simply, presenting the faulty assumptions within it, in addition to providing a set of hypothetical reasons for why this is the case. This is in addition to paying heed towards the fact that Allah's trials are not only based on physical obligations, but also doctrinal ones, alerting us to the fact that we shouldn't stipulate false conditions for evidence.

Usually we are under the guise that the only localities in which the message of the Almighty had been disclosed to people was in the Western Asian region, however, upon closer reading of the Quranic verses, we find that it has been stated that every community has been sent a Messenger and a Warner. Does such a claim pose a risk to the truth of Islam, considering we do not have any information of such figures having come to all these various places on Earth? Watch the rest of the video to find out!

Sayyid ʿAlī Abū al-Ḥasan here engages in an enthralling summary of the art and science of manuscript verification. This video explores the methods employed to uncover the true authors of various texts, in the course of doing so, he does not limit himself to explaining how this is done theoretically, but actually grounds his words with practical examples where these verification techniques have been successfully applied. It's an opportunity for viewers, whether they be history enthusiasts, literature aficionados, or the curious, to gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for the meticulous work that goes into confirming the authenticity of historical manuscripts.

Please also ignore the incorrect spelling of the term "ḥadīth", which has been rendered as "ḥādīth", this was due to a faulty copy and paste operation when subtitling the video.

In this video, Sayyid ʿAlī Abu al-Ḥasan delves into the fascinating question of whether Shīʿa speakers predominantly focus on inter-Islamic dialogue over Daʿwa to non-Muslims. This discussion explores the potential reasons behind such a distinctive approach within Shīʿa Islam. With his depth of knowledge and expertise, he examines the validity of this trend and the motivations that may drive Shīʿa scholars and speakers towards discussions within the Muslim community, as opposed to outreach towards non-Muslims. The video also highlights significant scholarly works within the Shīʿa tradition that contribute to this conversation. For those interested in the dynamics of religious outreach and the rationale behind the manner Shīʿa Islam has been spread, this video offers a coherent set of causes for the ongoing phenomenon.

In this video, the Sayyid discusses how correct knowledge is to be acquired, and the sources we take it from. He clarifies a genre of reports stating that true knowledge is exclusive to the Ahl al-Bayt and how they are supposed to be understood, considering the fact that there are certain things we which can know independently without ever having to read a tradition from them (upon them be peace). We hope that there is benefit in the contents for all the believers.

In this enlightening and inspiring short talk, the Sayyid passionately shares the profound greatness and critical importance of reading the Qurʾān. He delves into the impacts of engaging with this sacred text, he encourages his audience to not only read but also reflect upon the teachings of the Qurʾān to enrich their lives and communities.
