[0:00]during the year for the rest of our lives it's all predicated

[0:05]on the greatness of this event so the birth of the holy

[0:09]prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam is so central so crucial that i'd like

[0:13]to expose it more in case we've forgotten about it and for

[0:16]us to realize how we're connected to this great event the birth

[0:19]of the holy prophet you know the first thing that allah created

[0:24]the prophet says what the first thing allah created is my light

[0:32]when we talk about nor we're talking about the it's interchangeable in

[0:40]terms of con context where we say apple you'll find that in

[1:01]that book allah imams are describing how allah created everything first its

[1:05]origination but you know that when we talk about origination please don't

[1:08]don't scale it in time because allah's mercy is continuous and his

[1:14]creation is constant so there wasn't a time when there was no

[1:19]creation allah is constantly creating we are one of the creations but

[1:23]within the spectrum of allah's creation you find that allah subhanahu ta'ala

[1:28]has created a magnificent system because of his intense incredible mercy when

[1:36]allah when allah is describing the human race and how he is

[1:41]guiding this human race that tends to forget him and that when

[1:44]they challenge and allah says for this reason for my mercy i

[1:50]created them so the very paradigm of my existence is due to

[1:53]allah's mercy let's not forget that first extremely important anybody who asked

[2:00]that question why do i exist why has allah decreed my existence

[2:04]why am i here why am i anywhere it is because of

[2:12]allah's mercy the secondary level that comes down as a result of

[2:15]his mercy is trials and tribulations [Music] through our sight and hearing

[2:35]the ability to be tried to be tested right so allah is

[2:43]showing that the process the modus operandi of the rahm of allah

[2:47]in the intelligent being that you and i are is that he

[2:52]created an environment for us and gave us limited free will and

[2:55]enabled us to engage ourselves within this mercy to elevate our own

[3:01]standards and to take us closer to him and that this conversation

[3:06]is entirely built on that so the first thing allah created was

[3:10]the light of the holy prophet sallallahu alaihi and of course we

[3:15]read this hadith and of course quran is conspicuously adamant in establishing

[3:21]the fact that the messenger of allah is so central to the

[3:24]very cause of existence and you might think why are we putting

[3:29]the messenger in such stature where we are talking about let's say

[3:32]the universe is 13.8 billion years old and we're saying that this

[3:38]universe didn't come into existence except because of the holy prophet who

[3:40]says are we not putting the card in front of the horse

[3:43]because the prophet came 1400 years ago what are you talking about

[3:46]i want you to understand that allah says allah creates makes it

[3:57]complete then he gives it destiny and guides it fahada that entire

[4:02]system from its very inception demands a template role model demands a

[4:08]gps coordinate of the goal of why the start is even beginning

[4:13]it's like when you get into a car you don't go on

[4:16]the highway and drive and then turn on the gps and put

[4:17]the coordinates you put the coordinates first and then you drive and

[4:20]the idea behind it is that if you don't have a goal

[4:23]then your function of existence is negated for even a millisecond and

[4:27]it doesn't make sense in allah allah says in the quran our

[4:35]lord you did not create this in vain that means there is

[4:41]value there's purpose there's direction so we need to understand that the

[4:45]holy prophet is the central uh axis of created intelligent beings endowed

[4:53]with the ability to move towards allah in the system of trials

[4:57]and tribulations i hope you understand that and therefore since we are

[5:02]one of the best creations you know we are we are ashraful

[5:08]one of the best creations and we don't have to say it

[5:12]because we are seeing it you know you might say well you're

[5:14]pontificating you're just patting yourself on the back no proof is obvious

[5:20]allah says allah is talking to us so allah is also telling

[5:40]us through this verse you are my best creations for i made

[5:45]the universe observing to you while other creations benefit from the creation

[5:48]of allah subhanallah don't get me wrong for everything benefits from the

[5:52]creations of allah but allah says i have placed you highest in

[5:54]its stature i want us to understand that because when we understand

[6:00]this we understand the roots of who we are and why we

[6:03]were created i think our character our goals our lifestyles our vision

[6:07]in life and our personalities will change for if i know if

[6:13]somebody says did you know that your family has royalty in it

[6:15]suddenly you start to act royal now before you were acting foolish

[6:20]now somebody told you by the way i have a tree and

[6:21]it shows that you have royal blood really that's it i'm royal

[6:25]now and suddenly your attitude changes you start thinking bigger you start

[6:28]thinking more royal but it was just a matter of understanding it

[6:32]so why were you not royal before it's because you didn't know

[6:35]it so this conversation is about us conspicuously knowing the fact that

[6:40]allah has chosen us you know it's not just choosing he has

[6:49]honored you not only chosen you by creating you in flesh but

[6:54]honored you so let's understand this briefly within this time that we

[6:59]have the knower of the prophet was created as the driving light

[7:03]of everything existent you see a cat walking on the street you

[7:06]see an insect know that it's all connected to the north of

[7:11]rasulullah is allah you might think how how is that the case

[7:14]please understand that when we bring it down when we bring it

[7:22]down to real understandings of the purpose of life salua muhammad you

[7:48]know what people people sometimes you know when i have discussions philosophical

[7:51]discussions with people who and i'll take this further later on but

[7:54]you know who denigrate prophets who say our prophets did this they

[7:58]made mistakes and i said you have absolutely no idea why you

[8:01]even exist because the minute you're attacking that you're actually attacking your

[8:06]own existence that's how central what i'm talking about so the nor

[8:12]of rasulillah pre-existed all existences and it was the original existence it

[8:16]gave credence to everything so when even in hadith that allah did

[8:36]not create this universe and all its propensities and qualities for the

[8:40]love of these five you're scratching your head this happened 1400 years

[8:44]ago creation is continual in the billions and trillions of years how

[8:49]so i want us to understand that when things come into fruition

[8:54]in time it doesn't mean it didn't exist before it's driven there

[8:58]are driving forces prior to something becoming conspicuously tangible so the birth

[9:03]of rasulillah was not something of a phenomenon just 1400 years ago

[9:08]but it is well understood that the very principles of the universal

[9:11]existence is because of his existence because among the created beings and

[9:16]i'll be very brief about this i don't want to go deep

[9:20]among the created beings you'll find that when allah creates all created

[9:26]beings need a means to reach allah it's very logical you see

[9:33]the whole principle of wasilla shafa these principles have come into existence

[9:37]and there are people challenging wasilla and shafa they're failing to understand

[9:41]that if you disconnect this then there is no real practical means

[9:48]to connect with allah because i become but i can believe in

[9:53]the oneness of god but the haiti ideas is very different than

[9:57]when you touch them when you get into what we call the

[10:02]the harm inside the essence of things it's different there are people

[10:07]allah says let me give you an example right now the answer

[10:21]is correct allah says when you ask these non-believers or disbelievers or

[10:25]people who are not muslims who created the universe the answer is

[10:33]correct but rather allah interjects and says no you are being very

[10:36]surface you are being disconnected you are not connecting yourself with me

[10:40]you are being very analytical about this issue the reality of your

[10:46]existence is in the humd of allah for that is the true

[10:48]decree of the belief in the allah being the creator not standing

[10:53]on the side that god created because that's where deism comes in

[10:57]theistic ideas which einstein used to follow is precisely that idea so

[11:01]the deistic notion is to say yeah god created this universe and

[11:04]he left us alone and he has nothing to do with us

[11:07]this notion is deadly and i'll explain it briefly why and tonight

[11:13]especially in the celebration of the holy prophet sallallahu alaihi and of

[11:17]course the continuity subhan allah of a a divine chosen representative imam

[11:22]jaffer muhammad where he is a reflection of the messenger you know

[11:37]completely even the titles of sadiq you know the prophet was known

[11:42]as sadhaka i mean but it's amazing when you look at that

[11:46]beautiful transaction that allah has laid upon us for us to follow

[11:52]and what we find is that the human race and interestingly even

[11:56]you know when i debate atheists and i talk to agnostics and

[11:58]this whole notion of these and you know okay there's a power

[12:03]out there people say you know i don't believe in god but

[12:06]i believe in a superpower out there i said okay it's a

[12:10]good start what are you going to do with it what do

[12:14]you mean by that well i believe in that i said that's

[12:18]it so that's it i said you're disconnected why but i believe

[12:22]in a superpower no because to god having created a being to

[12:25]get maximum benefit for the created being if they don't engage with

[12:31]god this exercise is what we call an exercise in futility it's

[12:35]nonsense to acknowledge allah has no meaning if there's no indulgence in

[12:41]it and then the million-dollar question is how do i indulge in

[12:45]connecting with allah and that is when rasulillah comes in that when

[12:59]i created you i gave you propensities i did not just give

[13:02]you matter and space and time for you to simply you know

[13:08]entertain yourselves so logically we see that when we discuss this matter

[13:14]the most important factor in all creations is their hulk when the

[13:23]messenger of allah says you know you know when the messenger of

[13:30]allah says indeed i've been sent to perfect your moral traits and

[13:39]you know interestingly when i discuss with non-believers i say whether you

[13:42]believe in god or not you believe in half a god or

[13:44]ten gods or you believe in a superpower i have a question

[13:50]to ask you what's the bottom line why do we talk about

[13:55]religion when atheists ask me why do you believe in god i

[13:57]don't believe in god i see the differential is that when i

[14:01]believe in god i complete myself as a human being you are

[14:05]not what do you mean i said you have no template you

[14:07]have no purpose you have no eternity you are purely accidental you

[14:12]have no modus you have no purpose and that's it's like being

[14:15]in school and say i don't know why i'm here i just

[14:17]happen to walk into two doors and i'm at this university why

[14:20]are you here i don't know i mean just imagine that state

[14:25]of oblivious you know oblivion madness this is how people are trying

[14:29]to live on this earth so when you ask even non-believers what

[14:31]is the bottom line and they'll think about it i haven't thought

[14:36]about it money power security now these are all secondary matters what

[14:43]is really at hand even for those who don't believe in allah

[14:47]is good moral character it's the moral character that's the most central

[14:53]to all intelligent beings ask any human being who even does not

[14:57]believe in god do you like being next to liars no a

[15:00]thief no a person who's you know erratic no irrational no foolish

[15:09]no hmm somebody who's foul with the tongue no why not who

[15:17]told you this how do you know this well it's in here

[15:21]amazing so allah subhana establishes a very fundamental factor of why the

[15:29]messenger is so essential for we as intelligent beings have an obligation

[15:33]to connect with allah through the means without this means i'm telling

[15:39]you all conversations fall apart the notion of basic ideas the notion

[15:43]of a god out there a power out there and have nothing

[15:45]to engage with is is a conversation that's purely nonsensical to me

[15:50]it has to translate to something practical otherwise don't waste my time

[15:54]telling me all these grandiose philosophies which make no sense to me

[15:58]and allah simplifies it you see allah says we did not send

[16:09]you but as a mercy for all and the root word is

[16:17]we thank allah the lord the merciful lord alhamdulillah i mean the

[16:25]lord of the universes the messenger is in that same connection the

[16:29]same words are used just think about it the messenger is at

[16:35]the central core of everything and his noor from his noor allah

[16:38]created the bait so the nourishment which is right next to the

[16:46]prophet says we are from one noor and our alien means for

[16:47]example ali and i uh are from that one tree and then

[16:54]from that extension of imam nubuwa then we the human beings do

[17:01]you know that we are all an extension of that same nour

[17:04]of rasulillah very important to know because when we understand that my

[17:10]nur my ethos my nature my humanity is an extension of the

[17:16]holy prophet it puts us in a different position than being where

[17:21]god created these chosen beings and then just sort of to fill

[17:25]space he created us and we're just peripheral you know and i

[17:30]always use this argument where we find that many times that's the

[17:36]prophet of allah those are the imams they're chosen they're guided we're

[17:39]not guided like them we make mistakes we slip and we slide

[17:43]but they are perfect shaytan says exactly exactly so don't try to

[17:50]be like them because you can't shaitan is playing that again so

[17:53]it's flipped then on the other hand shaitan wants to make them

[17:56]bad the prophet did frown he turned he made mistakes not perfect

[18:02]he made mistakes how can you say so shaytan is playing the

[18:05]other side too you see he's like you he's human he makes

[18:08]he slips and slides no can't the infallibility of the chosen agents

[18:14]of allah is entirely pegged into the lord of the prophet and

[18:20]i'll explain it very briefly because no time ethics and morality is

[18:26]one directional material entities is multi-directional you can be rich poor rich

[18:35]poor it makes no difference where you are you could be poor

[18:37]today rich tomorrow you can you can cancel out your past in

[18:42]fact you can you can use poverty as your past and rich

[18:44]as a strength but spiritual ethical poverty never strengthens your future it's

[18:51]always a target against you so if you were known to be

[18:54]a thief and a liar and a murderer yesterday and now you're

[18:56]a really good person that's going to hinge on your character and

[19:01]it will always affect the decisions we make today i want you

[19:05]to ponder for a split second and no human being can dare

[19:09]go in that direction to ever say that this person was a

[19:12]killer or murderer but then you know he repented and god forgave

[19:17]them alhamdulillah because allah is of forgiving but transactionally in terms of

[19:22]positions of leadership these beings are extremely special that allah says they

[19:33]don't slip and slide for if they did you have an argument

[19:37]on judgement day not to follow them because you'll say well i

[19:39]don't i didn't trust them yesterday they made mistakes they wanted to

[19:42]do bad things even if they asked for forgiveness and if anyone

[19:46]wants to argue about that briefly somebody was just talking to me

[19:51]the other day well yeah they're good they they've asked for forgiveness

[19:54]so they became leaders they became imam but this was a bad

[19:58]person yesterday yeah but he asked for forgiveness i said good be

[20:00]careful they said why he asked for forgiveness god is very forgiving

[20:05]i say true but not in divine leadership divine leadership has a

[20:08]unique position by the way what i'm talking about this principle is

[20:10]unique in our school of thought in the jaffar school of thought

[20:16]no religion on earth has this qual this principle that we are

[20:20]presenting today you listen to other islamic groups you will not hear

[20:23]this principle you will not and there's a reason why and it's

[20:28]it's really very slick and tricky and the reason i'm saying this

[20:31]to give honor to rasulullah to give honor to imam jafrasadi al-assam

[20:35]i want us to understand who they are and how we're connected

[20:40]to them they are perfect beings but i give an example imagine

[20:44]and somebody was debating with me just the other day i said

[20:47]oh yeah it's okay we can give our leadership to them i

[20:50]mean our you know allegiance to them actually there was a child

[20:53]molester who asked for forgiveness and you want to go on vacation

[20:57]for the weekend you leave your kids with this person you know

[21:00]i've asked this question in public in debates and even the most

[21:03]learned ones will say no i said why wouldn't you put your

[21:06]child for a few hours god will put his old religion in

[21:08]the hands of a person who had bad behavior before ethics is

[21:13]one directional when allah be careful of your moral trends be careful

[21:19]and avoid the mistakes now while we make mistakes avoid the big

[21:27]mistakes ask allah for protection keeps you away from wrongdoing and evil

[21:32]why is allah giving me the salah he says don't slip ethically

[21:37]don't sleep morally because people will not forget your ethical moral values

[21:42]are the bedrock foundation of who you are going to be and

[21:45]how you're going to benefit from humanity and i want us to

[21:57]understand that when we see this it's because when i follow rasulullah

[22:01]when allah says that the messenger has greater right on the believers

[22:09]than they have on themselves this is a profound position allah has

[22:12]given the messenger of allah and that profound position affects billions of

[22:16]people and one slight mistake of this great personality is tantamount to

[22:21]human destruction so please understand it and it baffles me how humans

[22:26]within our our muslim communities will go out of their way to

[22:29]write essays and articles and debate that the messenger of allah and

[22:35]the chosen agents of allah made mistakes now why am i speaking

[22:41]this way because it all boils down to our so the messenger

[22:45]is the ultimate role model of our characters the quran allah says

[22:53]this quran guides you to that which is most upright look how

[22:57]the quran strikes at the core when i read this and i

[22:59]i go around the world talking to people of various faiths and

[23:02]i said what's the bottom line conversation how do i become a

[23:07]good person but what is your template to move yourself towards the

[23:11]better are you going to choose a sub-par template to move yourself

[23:14]is i going to play a game and you want to learn

[23:17]that game and if you could find the best player in the

[23:18]world would you not take them as your coach would you take

[23:22]would you take somebody any less if you're going through the jungle

[23:27]you don't know what danger is like would you take a mediocre

[23:29]guide or would you take the best guy when you go for

[23:33]surgery would you take the best surgeon or a mediocre surgeon when

[23:36]you go see a physician would you take a mediocre physician if

[23:39]you're going to buy a property you want to take a mediocre

[23:41]realtor or a good realtor all of these factors allah says you

[23:48]have it in your ethos why is it that in this matter

[23:50]which is what matters the most allah says on that day nothing

[24:00]will help you except those who bring their hearts with tranquility you

[24:03]cannot have palban saleem unless you come towards allah properly and there

[24:07]is no way to come towards allah properly until you get the

[24:10]guidance from him that he has sent and there is no greater

[24:15]guidance than rasulillah and allah says is telling us if you claim

[24:24]to love allah then you have to follow the prophet for if

[24:26]you don't then i won't forgive you so allah says if you

[24:29]do allah says i will forgive you and protect you so the

[24:32]condition is very very clear so the argument here is that i

[24:37]am from the north of rasulullah allah has placed a perfect template

[24:40]for me given me perfect direction protected them and made sure that

[24:44]no matter how the human race tries to taint this very pathway

[24:47]which is the path that iblees wants to taint because he knows

[24:50]the minute he attacks the messenger of allah he's attacked all of

[24:52]humanity it's interesting in scriptures of other religions even in some of

[24:59]our hadith you find this ludicrous statements about prophets you know ludicrous

[25:04]and you say ah here's the fingerprint of hebelis iblis is trying

[25:09]to take us away i've said enough now let's take it to

[25:11]ourselves tonight this celebration of the birth of the holy prophet is

[25:18]so profound that you know the pillars of the persian king of

[25:26]the time cracked a thousand year zoroastrian fire was extinguished when he

[25:31]was born the the year of the elephant as we saved the

[25:37]messenger of allah was born and his mother amina will have so

[25:40]many attempts to kill her historians say so many attempts were made

[25:45]to kill her so this birth of the messenger should not take

[25:48]place so it was already known it was already predicted and we

[25:54]believe strongly even in the quran allah mentions it in direct and

[25:56]indirect ways that every prophet's submission to allah was dependent on their

[26:04]acknowledgement of the holy prophet who shall come this is mentioned in

[26:07]the quran about islam you know the christians say he calls in

[26:11]the paraclete you know verily there is much for me to say

[26:12]unto you that you shall not be able to bear but the

[26:16]comforter who shall come after me you find the quran mentions that

[26:19]also with similarities that islam says there is the one who shall

[26:24]come after me he shall not speak of himself but that which

[26:28]allah reveals that he doesn't speak of himself this forward preparation that

[26:39]even when imam ali salaam became shaheed he says to you hassan

[26:45]take my body to a hill you will see light dig and

[26:47]there will be a shield from prophet no for me how is

[26:51]prophet new leaving a shield frame because they know that this was

[26:56]the condition of the prophethood adam alaihi salam when allah taught him

[27:00]the names the condition was to acknowledge the prophet in his being

[27:08]and which the even the angels recite to allah was taught by

[27:12]the prophet to them if you doubt that read the quran you

[27:15]find interestingly when the angels are asking allah why are you want

[27:23]us to bow to this creature who's going to draw blood cause

[27:28]fitna where's we worship you allah says i which you don't know

[27:34]now i'm explaining this i want you to know this what i'm

[27:38]describing is us we in this grand sphere of the universe on

[27:42]this planet called earth are a chosen creation with the light of

[27:48]the holy prophet with the potential of being very close in stature

[27:52]and that our ability to even reach the powers of allah subhanahu

[27:58]ta'ala is possible you might think how shaytan doesn't want us to

[28:03]know that he wants us to be abject thinking we're just you

[28:07]know damaged goods dirt and then we're doomed and damned to hell

[28:10]and don't ever dare try to stand up upright don't even try

[28:16]but when we understand the essence of my existence at this level

[28:20]it changes my entire perspective and i hope you're understanding what i'm

[28:23]trying to say that even when we raise our children we should

[28:27]now understand ah i need to change you know raise my children

[28:31]in an upright moral way why because my template my standard my

[28:36]light that i possess originates from the prophet i am an extension

[28:40]of the holy prophet and interestingly you'll find it's beautifully established do

[29:11]struggle the way for allah the way he deserves it you have

[29:16]been selected wow god is talking to me me allah says you

[29:22]know trash you're no accidental creature you didn't just accidentally come because

[29:25]your parents you know got together now i decided in your creation

[29:34]so tonight just brief introduction to this we are special chosen highly

[29:40]placed in a very critical position and in this i will translate

[29:45]it very quickly we didn't make religion difficult so allah is saying

[29:55]religion actually makes your life easy it's a system right then what

[29:59]he says then he says the religion of who your father who's

[30:05]your father ibrahim what were you called before muslim you know people

[30:09]say islam is the youngest of the abrahamic religions and i look

[30:13]at them excuse me where did you get that from oh among

[30:16]the abrahamic it's the youngest i said please with all due respect

[30:19]islam is with god it's always been there but if you talk

[30:22]about the human race adam was a muslim and his wife are

[30:25]muslim so i don't know where you're going with those we started

[30:28]with islam and there is no religion about islam in in madina

[30:34]in the islam so this notion that islam is the youngest of

[30:37]the abrahamic faith is a strategic poison pill designed to allude that

[30:41]this religion was concocted by a man 14 centuries ago which is

[30:47]the most ludicrous argument possible and please anybody say that excuse me

[30:51]with all due respect i don't think you're saying this correctly now

[30:58]here's the function of what i'm speaking three critical positions in elevating

[31:18]our standards in the very function of why allah created this universe

[31:22]which is the light of the prophet and we now are going

[31:24]to tap into the infinite mercy of allah through trials and tribulations

[31:28]and the the best model by which we will show allah that

[31:33]i am real is when my akhlaq becomes good is this when

[31:40]you have the best hulk hulk is what character demeanor your essence

[31:46]when someone says his hulk is bad he's he's he's a cheater

[31:49]he's a liar he's arrogant you know you know he says you

[31:55]you remember the hulk you see he says oh i know that

[32:00]hulk you know it's evil you see the hulk of ali something

[32:04]calm comes into your heart you know ah i feel tranquil i

[32:09]can feel the confidence the vision the indomitable vision of a of

[32:13]an agent of god who has been placed with so many trials

[32:18]and tribulations but is relentless in maintaining the strength path that hulk

[32:24]says one who's worldly material base shallow arrogant to the one who's

[32:43]upright sisters and brothers with all due respect there's a point i'm

[32:47]making in this we come and have these gatherings let's not make

[32:49]these celebrations and commemorations traditional cycles but rather make it practical cycles

[32:55]and say how can i get out of this room having tapped

[33:00]one more essence that i should walk out of here having used

[33:02]this great moment that allah has given me so that i can

[33:07]become one step closer what is our biggest sickness in society bad

[33:12]manners and the messenger said indeed i've been sent to perfect your

[33:18]moral trait and interestingly you find in the quran the 68th chapter

[33:23]of the quran was the second surah revealed early time in mecca

[33:27]and allah in the beginning you know allah swears by the pen

[33:32]which is written and the prophet was being accused of being majnoon

[33:36]crazy allah says you are not and you were in you have

[33:44]the best moral conduct allah is saying very clearly that this messenger

[33:49]did not come to entertain you nor did he become did he

[33:54]come to lead you for foolish reasons he has come simply as

[33:56]an exemplary role model for if you ask the entire 8 billion

[34:01]human beings on earth what is the deficit of humanity today that's

[34:05]causing world wars destruction illegitimacy and and mental problems across the board

[34:10]bad leadership simple it's not translating into the people you've got systems

[34:18]out there designed to make people into drones and into robotic creatures

[34:21]simply to have material aspirations so that the economy continues to evolve

[34:26]and revolve whereas allah says that's not what were you created for

[34:30]you were created to improve yourself daily on a daily basis that

[34:35]motto tabla that die before you die implication is what kill your

[34:40]bad behaviors and raise your standards to good behaviors otherwise you're nothing

[34:45]so tonight's celebration should be on that basis i recognize this great
