[0:00]one man thank you for joining me as we begin this series
[0:54]on the life of our prophet prophet now for anyone who wishes
[1:03]to seek knowledge of islam i always advise them to begin with
[1:06]understanding the life of rasulallah in order to understand the quran and
[1:13]to understand the essence of islam for anyone who knows about prophet
[1:17]muhammad and knows about him as a leader knows about him as
[1:21]a spiritual guide and knows about him as the greatest of creation
[1:27]will realize that islam is a religion sent from allah subhanahu wa
[1:32]ta'ala and that this religion islam did not only begin with rasulallah
[1:35]he was the messenger the final messenger of the religion islam in
[1:43]fact began with navi adam on earth he was the first messenger
[1:48]on earth and every single prophet after that was a prophet of
[1:54]islam in one river of truth each and every single one of
[1:59]them preached the same thing prophet muhammad was the finalization of this
[2:04]message the final messenger with the final book but what prophet muhammad
[2:10]did no other messenger could do and that's why he was the
[2:15]chosen one and the special one and in the first lecture we'll
[2:18]be speaking about the seed which allah subhanahu tahala planted in a
[2:23]specific area of the earth in order for this religion to blossom
[2:27]what rasulallah did no other prophet could do when it came to
[2:33]abraham alaihissalam ibrahim would have been burnt in the fire had allah
[2:37]subhanahu ta'ala not intervened and protected him noah for 950 years he
[2:42]was preaching the religion and only a handful of people joined him
[2:48]and the rest of the people were caught in the flood when
[2:51]it came to moses he would have been massacred on the sea
[2:54]with the rest of his people had allah not interviewed and split
[2:58]the sea for him when it came to nabi salaam had god
[3:02]not intervened he would be have he would have been put onto
[3:07]the cross and crucified and so every single prophet had allah intervened
[3:12]in order to save them or aid them in this way however
[3:18]when it came to rasulullah of course allah aided him and so
[3:23]no other prophet did what the prophet muhammad sallallahu alaihi did in
[3:28]that rasulallah established the word of god on earth and so if
[3:35]we want to know about the life of the prophet we need
[3:38]to know the back story and we need we need to understand
[3:42]how he came to be and in order to do that we
[3:45]need to understand the geography because the geography when it comes to
[3:52]history it's like the stage for the actors if we don't understand
[3:54]geography it's like having actors on a play without a stage we
[3:58]need to understand why this area why did the message the final
[4:05]message begin with the life of prophet muhammad in this area so
[4:10]we come to arabia this barren land without any water a complete
[4:19]desert and this land was different to every other land on earth
[4:22]at the time it was in between the two main empires of
[4:27]the time rome and persia and as it was situated right in
[4:34]the middle this barren land which was known as we know it
[4:39]now as hijaz there were water holes by which both animals and
[4:44]human beings drank from and so in order for them not to
[4:49]drink the dirty water they would build wells so the arabs had
[4:53]built wells across hijaz across arabia and these wells were hundreds of
[4:59]kilometers apart and the problem with these wells was that it would
[5:03]take a very long time for someone to be able to drink
[5:07]from the water so if there were 10 people or 20 people
[5:09]it would take two to three hours because the well was not
[5:12]full of water now in order for the tribes to survive what
[5:17]they did was they would split themselves so if there was a
[5:21]family a man and woman and they had 10 children and those
[5:25]10 children had 10 children then there were 100 in that tribe
[5:30]they would also have another 10 children each so they would become
[5:33]a thousand and so they had to split into separate clans and
[5:36]what would happen is you had all these different tribes and clans
[5:41]now moving around in arabia and they would make up to about
[5:46]400 different clans and tribes so there were 400 different governments with
[5:50]400 different ideologies now what that would do is that it means
[5:54]there was absolutely no unity in this land because one of the
[6:01]main attributes of these tribes was that they were very very prejudiced
[6:06]the tribe was life all that mattered in arabia at the time
[6:10]was which tribe you belong to and the larger the tribe the
[6:15]more powerful you were because the tribe was your identity so you
[6:17]had tribes who would go up to 10 000 20 000 members
[6:23]that were split into different clans in order to survive with the
[6:26]water and they would roam from well to well had there been
[6:30]a river then they could settle by the river they would settle
[6:34]wherever the water is and then they would plant and in order
[6:38]to harvest their food they would wait through the winter and so
[6:40]they'd have to have houses and shelter and warmth and slowly a
[6:46]town begins to emerge and people come and go and business begins
[6:49]to happen and then you have locksmiths and you have butchers and
[6:52]you have barbers and you have all that when people come to
[6:56]this town then there's trade but when there's no river and no
[7:00]water there can be no town and there can be no trade
[7:03]so these tribes literally lived by roaming through the desert from well
[7:07]to well based on their own ideology their own law and their
[7:13]own government so if the tribe was law they would not accept
[7:15]anyone else from another tribe to come because they would raid each
[7:20]other they would rate each other for food and they would rate
[7:22]each other for the necessities of life the larger your tribe the
[7:25]stronger you were as a person the more safe your family was
[7:28]if you are without a tribe then you could easily be taken
[7:31]enslaved you and your family and you would have absolutely no identity
[7:36]in arabia this is all very very important in order to understand
[7:42]what environment islam came into so if you want to think the
[7:46]type of people that the prophet muhammad came to speak to you
[7:49]want to think of people like isis right now that is the
[7:53]type of mentality that the prophet came towards when they were living
[7:58]in that time they would bury their daughters alive because it was
[8:02]only seen as prestigious if you had a son they would not
[8:06]care about marriage anyone could be with anyone and no one knew
[8:10]who the children were fathered by so this was a very uncivilized
[8:18]society and a very prejudiced society and people would kill if they
[8:22]had seen anyone from their tribe in danger so if i was
[8:24]in a tribe and i saw someone from my tribe getting into
[8:28]an argument i wouldn't ask what's wrong i wouldn't ask who's right
[8:31]i wouldn't ask what's happening i would go and they would kill
[8:34]the person straight away and they'd come back and they would never
[8:38]speak about it again because that was a type of prejudiced mentality
[8:42]that they had at the time now why is it so important
[8:47]to understand the geography and to understand this prejudice and this disunity
[8:52]of the tribes of arabia i want to focus on two main
[8:58]points and we will understand the wisdom as to why rasulullah was
[9:04]sent into this land and how he was sent into this land
[9:07]those two main points are first of all the fact that all
[9:10]of this disunity meant there could be no one emperor nor one
[9:19]face to stand in the way of rasulallah it's true that he
[9:21]had enemies of course when he was speaking the message of allah
[9:25]but they were mostly chiefs of separate tribes never one man who
[9:30]was a king of all of arabia that could stand in his
[9:34]way why is that important because if you look at the lives
[9:36]of the previous prophets there was always that one emperor or that
[9:41]one king that stood in the way of the main prophets of
[9:44]allah whether it was nimrod who stood in the way of abraham
[9:51]whether it was caesar who stood in the way of nabi isa
[9:53]or whether it was firaoun who stood in the way of nabi
[9:59]musa however with rasulallah there was no firaoun to stand in his
[10:03]way when there is disunity then for someone who wants to come
[10:10]with a project of unity he has a lot more power in
[10:15]his hands than having to come and conquer an already unified peoples
[10:19]the second point is that no foreign power was interested in coming
[10:26]into this land and conquer it it was different to all other
[10:29]lands there were no rivers the water wells would not allow for
[10:33]the army of persia or the army of rome to come into
[10:38]arabia and with a hundred thousand soldiers they'd have to go from
[10:41]well to well they would never be able to all drink from
[10:42]one well and for what what was there in arabia to conquer
[10:46]it was nothing it was a barren land the tribes ruled the
[10:51]land in their prejudice and racism and disunity now this land was
[11:00]planned to be the place in which the seed of rasulallah was
[11:05]planted by allah 3000 years before the prophet's birth and so we
[11:10]begin with the story of abraham in order to understand how rasulullah
[11:13]came into this land it begins with ibrahim alaihissalam now there are
[11:19]different versions of this story and in this series we're going to
[11:24]be speaking about different versions of the same stories and understanding how
[11:26]to analyze history but with this this different version comes from genesis
[11:31]the christian narrative which tells us that nabi ibrahim was married to
[11:37]his wife sarah and later on he married hajjar and he had
[11:42]his son ismail but sarah was jealous of hajjar and sarah banished
[11:47]hajjal and told him to take her far far away and leave
[11:51]her in a barren land and so nabi ibrahim listened and he
[11:56]took his wife and left her there with her son and this
[12:00]paints prophet abraham in a very oppressive light and of course that's
[12:04]not the story that we accept the islamic narrative tells us that
[12:08]after abi ibrahim was banished by nimrod he was in palestine with
[12:13]his wife sarah and they were both very old at this time
[12:17]so he was about 70 80 years old and show it so
[12:20]was she she was very old as the quran tells us she
[12:24]was very old and they didn't have a child and he wanted
[12:26]a child and so sarah is the one a pious woman who
[12:34]suggests to ibrahim to marry and so once nabi ibrahim marries up
[12:39]and then his child ismail is begotten and now this child is
[12:46]the prayer of abraham in which he has been asking allah his
[12:51]entire life he's wanted a child and after everything he had been
[12:56]through after the whole mission that he had completed for god and
[12:58]he has this child now he gets a message from jibra who
[13:02]comes and tells him allah wants you to go on a journey
[13:06]with your wife and your newborn son abraham leave your home and
[13:14]go to the land i will give to you in your offspring
[13:19]i will bless you i will make you a father of many
[13:27]nations with ascendance as numerous as the stars now this is a
[13:33]trial at the end of ibrahim's life which he as a godly
[13:36]man of course accepts and he doesn't know where they're going and
[13:40]so he says goodbye to sarah and he goes with hajar and
[13:45]isma'il and they begin to journey from palestine not knowing where they're
[13:49]going and every time they pass a few days he asks is
[13:57]this where we're supposed to settle and stop and ibrahim says no
[14:00]we must keep going and ibrahim continues persevering having tawakkul and complete
[14:07]faith in allah subhanahu wa ta'ala but not knowing where he's going
[14:10]and why this is happening and they keep moving hundreds of kilometers
[14:15]thousands of kilometers until they get to this barren land where there
[14:19]is no sign of life whatsoever and gibral says this is where
[14:27]you must leave your wife and this is where you must leave
[14:29]your child and never ibrahim although he is in pain and although
[14:35]he is anxious he trusts the word of jabra which is the
[14:38]word of god and so he tells hajj i must leave you
[14:42]here now with isma'il and we have to trust that there's meaning
[14:47]behind this and so hajar stays with ismael and before ibrahim leaves
[14:54]he prays to god and he asks allah wa tahala rabbana rasool
[15:01]and min my lord send from them a messenger that will recite
[15:06]your verses and that will purify the people and let the hearts
[15:09]of the people incline to them and he leaves trusting allah to
[15:14]take care of his family now hajjar and isma'il are in this
[15:17]barren land and there is no water and there's no well and
[15:22]so the baby begins to cry because of his thirst and begins
[15:29]to run around up and down seven times these are where the
[15:33]rituals of hajj come in safa or marwa it was her looking
[15:39]for water wanting to quench the thirst of her baby as she
[15:45]is there losing all hope the first miracle in ismail's life the
[15:51]spring of zamzam bursts forth of course we know zamzam it's that
[15:57]water when you go to hajj you bring that water back with
[15:59]you till now or our parents go and bring it back for
[16:01]us this miracle water of zamzam springs forth from this barren land
[16:08]and once the water erupts and ismail drinks the birds begin to
[16:14]flock towards the land the birds go where the water is they're
[16:18]flocking towards the water towards the spring a tribe nearby known as
[16:24]bani jorhom they see the birds they know the birds go towards
[16:29]water and they're looking for water they would have been roaming looking
[16:33]for a well so now they see the birds going towards water
[16:35]and then they went towards where the birds were going and they
[16:40]find hajjar and isma'il there and so they come and they settle
[16:46]in this land they drink from the water because finally there is
[16:49]a place where there's a spring of water and they want to
[16:52]settle ismail grows up in this tribe and ismail marries from this
[16:57]tribe and this tribe realized they've settled on a gold mine why
[16:59]because nabi ibrahim alayhi salaam he comes back and he erects the
[17:06]walls of the kaaba with isma'il when he's an older man and
[17:09]he calls people to the hajj the hajj would happen before the
[17:12]birth of prophet muhammad people from all over the world would come
[17:17]to see the kaaba and to perform hajj and to visit the
[17:22]house of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala now the people of jordan realized
[17:27]they were settling on a gold mine so they wanted to make
[17:30]the most out of it and so they built markets around they
[17:33]built a small town around the kaaba and people would come towards
[17:38]the hajj and this was this place was called the haram the
[17:40]haram whoever was to enter into the haram would be safe it
[17:43]was like a sanctuary anyone who would go in they would visit
[17:46]from all over the world to enter the haram and they would
[17:50]have wells that they would build in the haram so that people
[17:54]would come they would rest there and it would be there for
[17:57]a while in this sanctuary now after he had come back and
[18:03]built this kaaba erected the walls of the kaaba of course the
[18:06]foundations of it were laid by nabi adam alayhi salaam ibrahim and
[18:10]isma'il they erected the walls of the kaaba this goes to show
[18:16]us a great lesson in order to have faith in allah subhanallah
[18:18]tahalah when we don't fully understand why things are happening but to
[18:23]have the tawekwul to have this reliance upon allah and this faith
[18:28]that we are in his hands because many times we question the
[18:32]happenings in our lives we question because all we see are the
[18:36]shades of the painting the darknesses of the painting however if we
[18:42]were to zoom out and see the entire picture and know why
[18:44]this is happening know the reason and purpose behind it and the
[18:49]wisdom of god we have to trust the artist who sees the
[18:52]beauty of the entire painting and not looking at the small particular
[18:56]parts of it that don't necessarily make sense now nabi ibrahim leaves
[19:03]once again now decades after isma'il passes away on the other side
[19:09]of the story of course is the lives of the other prophets
[19:13]in palestine ibrahim has another son ishaq and yakub and then he
[19:18]has yusuf and there's the story of bani israel from that side
[19:21]of the family tree however this side of the family tree ismaid
[19:25]is the one who lays his seed in hijaz in modern day
[19:31]mecca and now jerome they're the ones who control this area once
[19:37]ismail passes away and his descendants now they are the nephews of
[19:43]the jerome tribe the chiefs of the jordan tribe usually their uncles
[19:47]the descendants of ismail were always sidelined they were never given any
[19:53]priority in the land for decades and centuries later they were always
[19:57]sidelined whenever other tribes would come bani jerome would be the main
[20:03]tribe they would deal with a great event occurred which changed the
[20:06]landscape of mecca a tribe known as the tribe of huzzah now
[20:11]i know these tribes have weird names but bear with me these
[20:15]tribes this tribe jose came in and they settled with the tribe
[20:21]of bani jorhom and they settled with the descendants of ismail in
[20:25]mecca of course they would settle based on deals because there was
[20:28]always a profit to make from this land but eventually hundreds of
[20:32]years after isma'il had passed away the descendants of isma'il were sick
[20:38]and tired of always being sidelined and so they had struck a
[20:46]deal with huzzah and beni ismail decided to engage in a coup
[20:49]in which they would get rid of jerome and they would be
[20:53]the ones who would rule the land and benefit from the haram
[20:57]and the visitors from all over the world and so this coup
[21:01]was done and jorhum was banished from mecca and the descendants of
[21:06]ismail were once again sidelined because they are the ones who took
[21:10]the key to the kaaba and they are the ones who now
[21:13]ruled this land and they did something extremely dangerous that changed everything
[21:22]they brought in 360 idols and they laid them around the kaaba
[21:28]and they gave them a form of divinity and worship so now
[21:32]people were coming from all over the lands and they would see
[21:35]these statues and they would see these idols and so if they
[21:38]were to touch the kappa they would then touch the idols and
[21:41]so these idols were given a form of worship and divinity people
[21:47]from all over the world now worship these idols and will come
[21:50]to visit these idols so the essence of hajj was lost and
[21:56]the worship of the one true god allah was long forgotten except
[21:58]by a certain few who were the ancestors of the messenger to
[22:04]come rasulullah and that's why when the prophet in his later years
[22:08]when he comes and people ask him who he is and he
[22:12]says ibrahim i am the answer to prayer of abraham you remember
[22:15]that prayer that nabi ibrahim made when he left the hajjar and
[22:18]ismail there it was because 3000 years before the prophet's birth this
[22:24]land was the land chosen for the prophet to be born in
[22:29]because this land as we mentioned there would be no foreign intervention
[22:33]when the prophet would begin his mission and there would although there
[22:37]would be tribulations and there would be many people standing in his
[22:41]way there wasn't an empire standing in his way and in the
[22:45]way of the message in any case the ancestor the fourth great-grandfather
[22:52]of muhammad his name was jose and this was a very important
[22:57]man in the change of the landscape of arabia once again because
[23:00]this was the handing of power from huzzah to beni ismail to
[23:06]this descendants of ismail who say some would say he was a
[23:10]saint or a prophet now it's important to know this family lineage
[23:15]because a lot of history begins to make sense once you know
[23:20]the story that we're about to tell of quraysh everything revolves around
[23:26]quraish it's impossible to understand the story of islam and the life
[23:28]of prophet muhammad without understanding quraish so this family tree which begins
[23:36]with jose who began the shift of power to bani isma'il hussein's
[23:42]son was abanav and abanav had hashem and abidshams now this is
[23:49]where the family tree split up hashim had abdul muttalib who had
[23:54]abdullah who had prophet muhammad and of prophet muhammad's grandchildren were al-hasan
[24:02]al-hussein of course their father being salaam also from the bani hashem
[24:09]tribe on the other side from abbott champs you had his son
[24:11]umayyah and this is where bani umayya comes from then you understand
[24:16]the distinction between bani umayya and hashem and umayya's son his name
[24:21]was harm and harm's son was abu sufyan and so abu sufyan
[24:24]was the cousin of prophet muhammad and abu sufyan's son was muawiyah
[24:30]so muawiyah was the cousin of imali and muawiyah's son was yazid
[24:35]and so yazid was the cousin of al-hasan and so you begin
[24:38]to understand as we tell the story of quraish why what occurred
[24:43]actually occurred in arabian history in any case we'll continue with the
[24:48]story of jose jose the fourth great grandfather of rasulallah he married
[24:52]the daughter of the chief of the tribe of huzzah and after
[24:58]that chief died jose inherited the keys to the kaaba and for
[25:02]the first time in their history the descendants of ismail had the
[25:07]keys to the kaaba which means they had the opportunity now to
[25:10]be the rulers of mecca and the first thing that crusade did
[25:15]was take the whole clan of beni ismail and allow them to
[25:18]live around the kaaba in the beginning no one would live around
[25:21]the kaaba out of respect this time he brought them around the
[25:25]kaaba and in arabic the word taqrish means a gathering and so
[25:32]this is where the word quraish came from the name quraysh came
[25:35]from takrish because the descendants of ismail they lived around the kaaba
[25:40]and the descendants of ismail are quraysh quraysh which became the most
[25:47]famous and the most important tribe in all of arabia and what
[25:50]jose did was he created a flag for quraish and a banner
[25:54]was a huge deal of an identity in arabia that's why islam
[25:58]in every war he would look for the one holding the banner
[26:02]and the flag and go to fight him first because if the
[26:04]banner was to fall then the identity falls and the army falls
[26:07]so now they had their own banner and their own flag and
[26:11]they had the headquarters and they had a certain reputation and prestige
[26:17]that no one else in mecca or arabia had and they became
[26:20]famous and people began to see them as wholly and they began
[26:25]to see them as allah and it got too many of their
[26:29]heads people would come from all over the lands and they would
[26:31]know this person is from quraish if you were from quraish they
[26:33]would think that you were holy that if they were to touch
[26:37]you they would have barakah from you that if you are carrying
[26:39]something no you're from quraish you couldn't carry that let me carry
[26:41]that for you they'll take it and they'll carry it for them
[26:45]so now quraysh was given this great prestige if we want to
[26:52]think that the tribes of arabia had great prejudice and racism quraysh
[26:55]had the most prejudiced quraish were the most in their own eyes
[26:59]special tribe chosen by god they were allah and because they were
[27:07]in the haram and because they had such prophets and riches from
[27:11]all the people coming to visit mecca and visiting the idols and
[27:14]visiting the kaaba it meant also that they could be a center
[27:20]of trade not only in their own land but they built a
[27:25]caravan that would go up to damascus and syria and down to
[27:28]yemen and they would trade they would take they would take hundreds
[27:33]of thousands of dnr they would take 2 000 camels on these
[27:36]caravans and they would go up and they would trade and come
[27:40]back down and they would trade with all the different empires as
[27:45]well now quraysh in order to go on these trips and these
[27:48]journeys they had to have a treaty of peace with all the
[27:54]different tribes that they would meet on the land so that they
[27:56]would not encounter any bandits and this is where in the quran
[28:00]when you read quraish this is what it means quraysh had all
[28:06]these treaties with all these tribes which meant all these tribes made
[28:08]so much money because of quraysh so much of the economy relied
[28:16]on quraysh quraish were the heads of all of arabia and this
[28:20]is why prophet muhammad said that that everyone follows quraish if quraysh
[28:28]don't accept me the life of the prophet muhammad quraish were the
[28:32]main ones who stood in his way even though he's from quraish
[28:36]and even though islam is from quraish but they're not quray minded
[28:38]because they're not racist because they didn't have any prejudice because we
[28:42]believe in islam as the quran tells us the most noble of
[28:48]you are the most god conscious of you and as the prophet
[28:50]would say it would not matter if you're white or if you're
[28:54]black or if you're a foreigner or persian or an arab or
[28:56]anyone else we are all equal and the only difference is impiety
[29:01]to god and so quray stood in his way because he was
[29:06]going to ruin their business but there was no way the people
[29:10]of arabia would follow prophet muhammad if quraish did not follow till
[29:13]now quraish they run that part of the world till now surprisingly
[29:20]enough quraish 650 years after the death of the prophet they ran
[29:24]islam and they ruled islam and all those that came afterwards ruled
[29:30]islam were from quraish because they believed that their bloodline was a
[29:32]special bloodline till now many qurayshi still are very important in this
[29:38]part of the world now it doesn't mean because they have to
[29:43]be like subhanallah if you look at iraq right now you think
[29:47]of it he's from quraish and he's perhaps the most powerful man
[29:51]of all of iraq or in iran said khamenei is also a
[29:54]saiyan which means he's also from quraish now it's not stipulated but
[30:00]that's how it turns out even in lebanon if you think about
[30:03]the sayyid there he's also from quraish now quraysh of course at
[30:10]that time we're not talking about these beautiful faces of quraysh including
[30:16]rasulullah including was speaking about the other side of quraysh the prejudice
[30:22]no one would follow prophet muhammad if parish did not and so
[30:27]the beginning of prophet muhammad's journey was made very difficult by quraish
[30:33]because all the different tribes that benefit benefited from quraish would not
[30:42]dare to go against quraish the ambassadors and the royal members of
[30:48]the families in syria or in anywhere else whenever the quraysh would
[30:51]go to visit that land they would stay in their homes and
[30:55]so the chiefs of quraish were given great prestige and that's why
[31:02]we begin to understand that the life of ali salaam turned out
[31:06]the way it did because he didn't accept the way quraish were
[31:14]ruling islam and the land even though many muslims we say muslims
[31:19]came and said they couldn't remove the love of quraish out of
[31:26]their hearts and so no one would follow him after the death
[31:30]of the prophet because imam ali was not question-minded he saw the
[31:37]slaves as maybe greater than some people from quraish if they had
[31:41]more piety and so someone from quraish would see even if they
[31:44]were muslim they would say salman who is this foreigner he doesn't
[31:50]even have a tribe around here he's from another tribe anira father
[31:52]he's not from quraish who amar another slave these were all slaves
[31:59]and they were the closest companions to imam ali for a reason
[32:04]because he treated people with equality however these freed slaves who became
[32:08]muslims were never seen as equals by quraysh and so this is
[32:15]why quraysh wanted those who would favor qurayshi people to rule islam
[32:21]after the death of prophet muhammad and so quraish would only want
[32:27]the ruler of islam to be someone who would favor quraish they
[32:31]couldn't do with prophet muhammad because he was but after his death
[32:36]they wanted to bring back life to quraish with the cover of
[32:42]islam and so when you look at that first night when they
[32:43]go to imam ali al-islam's house which we'll get to at the
[32:46]end of the series and they want islam to give bayha the
[32:49]only ones who support imam ali are those who were previously slaves
[32:54]or not from quraish because quraish wanted those who would favor quraish
[32:58]they saw islam as the religion of quraysh and that's why abu
[33:06]sufyan who we mention is the cousin of yamali he comes to
[33:09]imagine islam at the end and he says to him ali tell
[33:14]me the word give me the word and i'll give you one
[33:15]thousand swords one thousand soldiers right now to defend your right because
[33:20]this right of khilafah is not meant for them it's meant for
[33:25]us we are the sons of abid munaf the sons of crusade
[33:29]he still saw it as quraysh but his story as one of
[33:34]the clans of quraysh you're a hypocrite this isn't about a family
[33:42]feud it's not about this lineage it's not about something that we
[33:47]inherit this is a divine guidance from allah it's not for you
[33:52]or us because right now you say that i'm going to take
[33:55]it but after i pass away it's going to be yours or
[33:57]your sons that's of course what abu sufyan wanted so the first
[34:02]thing that the first khalifa does after he takes the khilafah he
[34:07]takes a muslim and he gives it to abu sufyan why to
[34:09]make peace between the clans and say this is your money just
[34:14]don't come against us he keeps everyone sweet and happy in the
[34:17]different kinds of quraish and so imalia islam he didn't even need
[34:21]abu sufyan if he wanted to be quraish minded he's from benihashim
[34:25]one of the noblest clans of quraish if he wanted to be
[34:29]quran he could be but he was not correct minded and so
[34:31]they stood against him and that we understand so much more and
[34:36]that we understand karbala hussain was standing in karbala telling them don't
[34:41]you know who my father is and they say we know who
[34:44]your father is and that's why we're doing this because they wanted
[34:49]revenge against the one who stood against quraysh was in several battles
[34:56]that we're going to speak about in this series where he killed
[35:00]many famous members of quraish and the descendants of those people wanted
[35:08]revenge one of which was yazid who in his palace after they
[35:14]had brought citizen balay salam to him and she stood there in
[35:18]front of him and they brought forth the head of abdullah islam
[35:23]on a plate and yazid would pick at the lips of hussein
[35:28]with a stick you know what he would say he would say
[35:33]i wish my grandfathers from badr who are here to witness this
[35:38]day and he begins to recite poetry you see so much of
[35:42]what happened in history revolves around the history of quraysh and the
[35:46]importance of quraish and so much begins to make sense once we
[35:50]understand quraish now this is the back story of the environment to
[35:56]which rasulullah came into we will begin speaking about his life from
[36:01]his birth onwards onto the message the quran and his trip to
[36:06]medina and what happens after that as this series goes on inshaallah
[36:10]alhamdulillah foreign
