[0:00][Music] all those who died because of Kobe 19 considered martyrs in

[0:17]Islam [Music] well this question might be in the mind of some

[0:24]Muslims today because every day we hear in sad news of people

[0:29]who have lost their lives due to the corona virus in fact

[0:31]yesterday I was leading the prayers as well as the burial of

[0:39]two muslims suspected of contracting it are they martyrs what about those

[0:44]who died trying to save lives like the five Muslim doctors and

[0:49]the nurse who unfortunately have died in the UK so far well

[0:55]first of all the Islamic definition of a Shaheed martyr within the

[1:00]school of Ahlul Bayt is a Muslim who is killed or dies

[1:05]for the sake of allah subhanaw taala either in a battlefield or

[1:09]elsewhere they are called Shaheed from the word Shahada which means witness

[1:14]because on the day of judgement they witness who oppressed them or

[1:19]because Allah and the angels are witnesses that they deserve paradise or

[1:24]because they're alive and witness things as the Holy Quran chapter 3

[1:30]verse 1 69 states [Music] but there are narrations that say a

[1:38]believer who dies in his deathbed position Eid or if you die

[1:44]at night in the state of Volvo whilst you're asleep you die

[1:48]a Shaheed how do we understand this well there is a specific

[1:55]designated status of a martyr those killed unjustly for the sake of

[1:59]God at a battlefield for example or elsewhere those who were killed

[2:04]at the battlefield are buried without shrouding or indeed washing but on

[2:09]another level as imam ali says any believer who dies due to

[2:14]an illness is Shaheed is understood to mean gaining a certain degree

[2:18]or reward from Allah spy Madonna more so if their patient and

[2:23]maintain a positive view of God so they're not a martyr in

[2:30]the actual sense but they attain a great reward from the Almighty

[2:33]similar to an actual martyr according to Ayatollah Sistani and many other

[2:41]scholars anyone who dies saving lives is raised amongst the martyrs and

[2:46]gains the reward his eminence recently said that their sacrifice is equal

[2:53]to those fighting the enemy such as - at the frontlines and

[2:56]the reward is indeed great with Allah of course the Quran tells

[3:02]us that by saving each life they have saved all of humanity

[3:07]so we thank them and pray for them including all key workers

[3:15]around the world may God bless them they are indeed heroes [Music]
