[0:10]god allahu taala vaquita beheading Kareem bismillah alrahman alraheem what more likable
[0:22]slide yo estaba la la la Sol OKs con una Rosa Boca
[0:40]a virtually Tata salud mhmm edoardo muhammad one of the greatest challenges
[0:49]that religious establishments are dealing with in this era is the challenge
[0:56]of the loss of the youth many youth are not attending religious
[1:03]establishments places of worship today you go to some churches synagogues temples
[1:11]places of worship and you see that it's a place for senior
[1:16]citizens and of course mosques and Islam is also affected by this
[1:28]phenomenon today you see there's a great movement of unaffiliated individuals a
[1:35]growing population a growing rate of unaffiliated people who consider themselves to
[1:41]not be affiliated with any religion with any establishment with any place
[1:46]of worship and you see that the percentage and the rate of
[1:53]the youth among them isn't very high in fact one-third of adults
[1:59]under 30 are unaffiliated religiously unaffiliated this is in the United States
[2:07]and I assume Canada would be the same as well one-third of
[2:09]the adults under 30 are religiously unaffiliated they feel that they do
[2:16]not belong to a religious organization to a group and there's a
[2:20]decline in the attendance of places of worship decline in the attendance
[2:27]and churches and synagogues and mosques in many places of worship and
[2:31]there's a term which they refer to individuals who do not come
[2:35]to the mosque anymore people who feel that they do not belong
[2:41]in the mosque and this term is unmasked people feel that the
[2:45]mosque does not fit their requirements it does not does not satisfy
[2:50]their needs and therefore they are unaffiliated and they do not they
[2:56]stop attending in the places of worship now from an Islamic perspective
[3:03]we have to come and analyze this and we have to see
[3:05]what are the reasons behind this today if you want to measure
[3:11]the success of a community you don't look at the senior citizens
[3:14]you don't look at the children but rather you look at the
[3:19]age of the youth and of course to keep everyone happy we're
[3:23]going to say anyone 100 and not less is a youth so
[3:28]we have to look at the youth and how active they are
[3:30]in the community how vibrant they are in the community I've been
[3:38]to some communities where you see it's dead it's like a ghost
[3:41]town you go to the mosque there's nothing going on people come
[3:44]they listen to document they read the Quran they listen to a
[3:49]lecture and go as if nothing has happened and you go to
[3:51]other communities and hammed it a lot a community like this one
[3:56]where you see the community are involved and you see the youth
[3:59]are involved and they're active you see that this community is going
[4:02]to be a vibrant community this community is going to be heard
[4:08]all over the world through a youtube channel through serving the food
[4:13]through making programs through participating and there's movements within the mosque and
[4:18]within the community this is an example of a successful community one
[4:25]that the youth are involved one that the youth feel that they
[4:28]belong one that the youth when they attend the Masjid and the
[4:31]place of worship they don't feel like attending as guests but rather
[4:36]they feel like there home and feel that they are attending in
[4:39]a place that they're very comfortable in if the mosque and the
[4:44]place of worship people did not feel comfortable in not only the
[4:49]youth anyone every single group should feel whether you're young whether you're
[4:54]old whether you're children whether you any group should feel very involved
[4:59]and should feel appreciated and accepted and welcomed and the Masjid this
[5:05]is the model Masjid a model Masjid is like the masjid of
[5:11]rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa ala where everyone felt accepted everyone felt that
[5:17]this is where they belong a masjid that's inclusive to every single
[5:24]person a masjid that is inclusive to every single group in the
[5:30]community today some people ask why are people not attending mosques and
[5:36]places of worship why are people unaffiliated you know some people immediately
[5:41]they come and they say these people are not religious these people
[5:44]don't believe in God so therefore they don't come and they attend
[5:50]but that's wrong in fact studies show that 68 percent of those
[5:54]who are unaffiliated with places of worship actually do believe in God
[5:59]they do have a form of spirituality so here this shows us
[6:04]that the problem is not with God the problem is with people
[6:07]who are speaking on behalf of God the problem is people who
[6:10]make others feel uncomfortable when they come to the place of worship
[6:15]when they give others looks and they make people feel uncomfortable and
[6:20]unwelcomed in the house of God and this is a crime that
[6:24]sometimes we commit whether we realize it or we don't realize it
[6:29]if we are making someone uncomfortable when they are coming to the
[6:33]house of God then that means we are doing injustice to God
[6:38]that means we are kicking people out of the mercy of allah
[6:41]subhanaw taala sometimes i speak to those who are unmasked right now
[6:45]and they say we don't feel that we belong in a mosque
[6:48]they say i don't want to come to the mosque anymore why
[6:51]because every time I come this person looks at me this lady
[6:56]she says this word to me this one says this to me
[6:57]and they don't come anymore here by us looking at people in
[7:03]a wrong way by doing something which make people uncomfortable we are
[7:07]pushing them away from the mercy of allah subhanaw taala and this
[7:11]is a great injustice because the mercy of allah is so great
[7:17]Allah subhana Allah keeps the doors open for everyone what I meant
[7:20]to you what saith could let's say but some of us we
[7:24]come and we begin to speak on behalf of God and we
[7:26]try to represent God and we close the doors of the mercy
[7:32]in the face of individuals so sometimes those people who are not
[7:37]attending and they feel that they are unaffiliated and they are disenchanted
[7:41]with religion and religious establishments it doesn't necessarily mean that they have
[7:47]an issue with God sometimes they have an issue with people so
[7:50]here we have to analyze the problem why are some people brought
[7:56]away from the mosque why are some people not attracted to the
[8:00]mosques why are some people not attending the mosques why is this
[8:04]a problem that not only Muslims have but other religious communities where
[8:09]many of the youths are not actively attending and not actively participating
[8:15]in the religious centers and religious organizations if we want to answer
[8:21]this we're going to look at three different angles one angle is
[8:28]the role of the parenting and the nurturing second is the role
[8:33]of the youth themselves and third the challenges that society throws at
[8:40]the youth which make it very difficult for them to hold on
[8:45]to their religion and it makes it very difficult difficult for them
[8:49]to hold on to their values first my dear brothers and sisters
[8:53]parenting today if you want to come to the Masjid there is
[8:59]a very big chance that it was your parents who brought you
[9:01]to the Masjid there's a very big chance that it was your
[9:05]pair who brought you to the religious organization religious institution because we
[9:10]are taught from our parents our first teachers but some parents you
[9:14]see that they do not prioritize the place of worship they do
[9:20]not prioritize the mosque they are willing to show their love to
[9:24]their children they are willing to spend on their children they're willing
[9:27]to buy their children anything that they want they give them the
[9:30]best clothes they put a roof over their head they send them
[9:35]to the best colleges the best universities but they don't teach them
[9:39]something very critical in their life and that is the language to
[9:43]speak to allah subhanaw taala they don't teach them the connection with
[9:48]Allah subhana Allah and they don't prioritize the connection with God and
[9:52]then you see several years later they come say you please talk
[9:57]to my son please talk to my daughter they're not coming to
[9:59]the Masjid they're not listening to me they're not obeying me where
[10:02]were you when you had the opportunity to guide your children where
[10:07]were you when your children were listening to you you know kids
[10:13]children they want someone to listen to them they want someone to
[10:17]talk to them you see many times you find little children they
[10:21]come baba this Baba mama they keep talking talking and parents what
[10:25]do they do they tell them be quiet here's an iPad be
[10:30]quiet here's a Playstation be quiet here's an Xbox be quiet here's
[10:32]this and we keep trying to keep them quiet and keep them
[10:38]distracted because we're busy because we have so many things to do
[10:42]and then 10 years later there comes a time 10 years later
[10:44]I go and I want to talk to my son I want
[10:47]to talk to my daughter and they tell me be quiet I'm
[10:50]too busy for you now I don't have time to listen to
[10:54]you now I don't have time to hear what you have to
[10:55]say this is our problem many of the problems of the youth
[11:02]begin with the parents they begin with the parents not prioritizing certain
[11:07]issues not prioritizing religion not prioritizing values that are very important if
[11:14]a father or mother do not teach their children how to pray
[11:17]they're doing the greatest injustice stirs their children if a father and
[11:22]mother do not teach their children how to speak to God then
[11:27]that means you're stripping this child who is going to be a
[11:30]potential youth and a potential leader in society the ability to connect
[11:34]with God the ability to speak their problems to their Lord so
[11:42]the problems begin at home and oftentimes we see that some of
[11:46]the parents they're bad role models they are doing all of the
[11:49]Haram things all of the bad things and then they come and
[11:52]they tell their children don't do this and don't do that doesn't
[11:53]work that way children they look at their parents and if they
[11:59]see that the parents do not care about the Masjid do not
[12:01]care about prioritizing their faith they're also not going to prioritize their
[12:06]faith but of course it's a religious duty upon every parent yeah
[12:11]you alladhina amanu oh and Fusako mwah aleikum Nara na budu ha
[12:19]na so al hajar oh oh you people who believe strengthen yourselves
[12:24]and strengthen your families protect yourself and protect your family from the
[12:31]Hellfire don't only go to heaven alone if you want to go
[12:34]to paradise take as many people as you can with you and
[12:38]take your family with you most importantly in another verse Allah says
[12:43]in the Quran what more and like a bracelet was ee-ha lonnis
[12:47]a local scam Nana's a local scale and another book well okay
[12:54]but units up wah Allah says what more Anika's so let's order
[12:58]your family teach your children how to pray and then Allah says
[13:01]was stubborn alaihe be extra vigilant be extra patient when you're teaching
[13:09]your children don't give up right away don't quit right away there
[13:12]are some parents they say oh my children don't listen to me
[13:14]that's it I don't care anymore when it comes to school when
[13:18]it comes to their University when it comes to college do you
[13:21]also not care or that is something that's very important well same
[13:26]with religion same with faith same with coming to the Masjid same
[13:29]with learning about their religion and their values this is why Allah
[13:34]says was stubborn alaihe be extra patient be extra vigilant and then
[13:38]Allah says Nana's a lucaskon we don't want money from you some
[13:43]people they say no I don't want to be a religion with
[13:45]religion because religion means I have to pay money no Lana I
[13:50]look at risk on non-owners a book well after but to the
[13:52]top are we don't need wealth from you we are giving you
[13:54]the wealth the reserve all the sustenance comes from allah subhanaw taala
[13:57]and then allah says well pay but you let Chuck WA the
[14:02]ending is for those who are connected with allah subhanaw taala this
[14:06]is why it duty upon every parent to guide their children to
[14:12]bring their children to the masjid being unmasked starts from the parents
[14:17]if the parents teach their children to come to the masjid anytime
[14:21]during the month of Ramadan and Muharram bringing them to a Saturday
[14:24]school or Sunday school then they're going to learn to come to
[14:29]the Muslim but if the parents don't care then the son or
[14:32]the daughter is also not going to care and this is why
[14:35]we need to be extra vigilant we need to be extra careful
[14:37]Allah says in the Quran Allah mu and na ma my Luka
[14:45]mwah allowed you come fitna know that allah subhanaw taala is testing
[14:48]you through your wealth and through your money some people they don't
[14:52]realize that this is a test any gift that Allah has given
[14:57]us Allah has given you money that money it's a blessing for
[15:00]you but it's also a test for you your children they're a
[15:05]blessing for you but they're also a test for you some people
[15:07]they fell their tests in the algebra because of their children because
[15:12]of their children they end up losing this dunya and this arkarow
[15:15]because they didn't raise them properly sometimes their children end up doing
[15:20]things that end up bringing them away from allah subhanaw taala one
[15:26]of the great companions of rasulallah he was with Rasulullah all the
[15:31]time as zubayr as the bear was with the Prophet and he
[15:35]is even related to the Prophet when they attacked the so fatima
[15:42]zahra the only person they say that took out his sword was
[15:47]as the bane to defend the house of fatima zahra to defend
[15:49]the house of america meaning however his ending became a sour ending
[15:54]a very wrong ending where he was killed in the battle fighting
[15:59]against Imam Ali Allah's Salam he waged the war against the Imam
[16:03]of his time how did that happen that happened as a result
[16:11]of that happened as a result of him having a son Abdullah
[16:15]and Imam Ali alehissalaam he says masalas obey Roman Alan Bates had
[16:22]nasha Abner Abner Hamish Abdullah I mean what meaning says the bear
[16:28]was from us and it waits until he was given a son
[16:30]Abdullah he lost that test with his son so being a parent
[16:37]it's a blessing but it's also responsibility and it's the parents who
[16:41]teach their children to come to the Muslim this is one angle
[16:46]that we're looking at another angle my dear brothers and sisters is
[16:50]sometimes it's not the fault of the parents sometimes the parents have
[16:54]no problem sometimes you see the parents they give and they bring
[16:57]their children and they guide and they do everything that they can
[17:02]to guide the youth but the youth they refuse they keep bringing
[17:06]up excuses they keep rejecting the truth and this also happens sometimes
[17:10]I've seen parents who are excellent parents there are many and they're
[17:16]believers they try to bring their children and their families to the
[17:20]Masjid and they they teach them everything but suddenly they see their
[17:24]son or their daughter turns against them and turns against the truth
[17:27]and we shouldn't be surprised if this happens a loss of I
[17:32]know Tyla describes the son of prophet nooh alehissalaam prophet north was
[17:36]a prophet he was a nebby he was guiding people he was
[17:42]chosen by allah subhana wa ta'ala however his son turned against him
[17:46]his son refused to come with him and his son drowned with
[17:49]those who drowned in the flood and this is why Allah says
[17:56]God I know and now who lays Simon Alec and no I'm
[18:00]a loner Oh son he is not your son he's a bad
[18:02]deed someone who rejects the truth someone who refuses the truth no
[18:11]Hollis and I'm he was shocked nor was sad but allah subhanaw
[18:14]taala tells him don't be sad because the stronger bond is not
[18:20]the bond of blood but it's the bond of iman it's the
[18:23]bond of connection with allah subhanahu wata'ala this is one point and
[18:29]finally we see that many of the challenges many of the challenges
[18:36]that are faced in society and the reasons why many of the
[18:40]youth are disenchanted with religious establishments and feel unmasked there as a
[18:46]result of society the challenges of society today my dear brothers and
[18:51]sisters we live in a society where Islam is not the popular
[18:55]religion in fact when you go to universities when you go to
[19:00]schools you might hear people say things that go against the religion
[19:03]of Islam and against the values of the religion of Islam this
[19:06]is a challenge that many of the youth face but how are
[19:11]we going to deal with it some they start falling into the
[19:14]traps and they stop attending the Masjid they cut their relationship with
[19:19]allah subhanaw taala because they heard one lecture from a professor go
[19:23]and read about your religion go and learn about your values go
[19:28]and strengthen your own Ikeda your own ideology but some people they
[19:37]fall under the pressures of society for many of the youth they're
[19:41]dealing with many challenges and of course we can't always blame the
[19:45]youth you know a lot of times we see here people they
[19:48]say it's the use it's the youth and right away they're blaming
[19:51]the youth do we even know what many of them are going
[19:52]through right now a lot of the Muslims that are in Canada
[19:58]and the West and in the United States they're immigrants the majority
[20:01]are immigrants although there are indigenous Muslims as well that have been
[20:06]born here and have lived but the majority are immigrants when you
[20:10]have immigrants they have one mentality they have one lifestyle they have
[20:18]one culture but their children who are born here who are now
[20:21]used who are now the leaders in this society they don't come
[20:23]and bring follow the same culture and the same traditions that their
[20:29]parents brought with them so now you have a culture clash now
[20:32]you have some more clashing cultures that are clashing a culture gap
[20:37]so many of the youth they really don't know what to do
[20:43]from one side they have to build a career they have to
[20:45]go to school they have to go to university they have to
[20:49]be successful and they have to compete with everyone in society for
[20:52]success and from another side they have to hold on to their
[20:55]values they have to hold on to their traditions they have to
[20:58]hold on to their mother tongue their mother language and so many
[21:02]of these things for some they fall for some they collapse in
[21:07]the middle of this and once they collapse they say I don't
[21:09]want to deal with anyone anymore I don't want to be affiliated
[21:11]with anything so it is a challenge and sometimes we have to
[21:20]place ourselves in the position of those who we're criticizing for some
[21:24]people it's very easy to criticize but put yourself in their position
[21:28]and see what challenges they're facing and they're going through on a
[21:33]daily basis today my dear brothers and sisters the youth they're the
[21:39]most sought after group that is alive right now the most sought
[21:47]after group right now there are corporations and institutions that invest billions
[21:54]of dollars just to capture the attention of the youth they spend
[21:57]billions of dollars just to capture the attention of the youth in
[22:01]fact it starts with children they start spending millions of dollars with
[22:06]advertisements with games with many things just so though they they keep
[22:10]looking at the computer screen screen just so they keep looking at
[22:15]the iPad to capture their attention these organizations these institutions they're making
[22:19]money off of the youth every second that you're looking at the
[22:23]TV every second that you're looking at the monitor every second that
[22:28]you're looking at your iPad at your phone that's the second that
[22:31]someone is making money off of you they're making money off of
[22:36]you they sell advertisements they say right now Facebook social media one
[22:40]of the one of the greatest challenges right now it's a good
[22:45]thing and it also has arms one of the something that many
[22:51]people don't have control of is social media you know how much
[22:55]institutions spend and they make money off of every second every minute
[22:59]that you're on your you're looking at your Facebook page you're looking
[23:02]at your Instagram page you're looking at your social media posts they
[23:06]make money off of you in fact today studies show that on
[23:13]average on average people spend every day you have 24 hours a
[23:17]day on average people spend 11 hours every day looking at their
[23:23]screen either reading either watching something either socializing either either doing something
[23:27]11 hours and if you want to really make yourself feel bad
[23:32]just look at your screen time how much screen time you have
[23:35]on your phone some phones they show that feature and they show
[23:39]you how much time you've had spent on the phone you don't
[23:42]realize it but of course not every time you're on your phone
[23:48]you're on social media is necessarily a bad thing today hamdullah many
[23:51]of our youth they are on social media they're on YouTube they're
[23:55]on Facebook but they're benefitting their learning and hamdullah we have hundreds
[24:00]and thousands of lectures islamic lectures they're all online so you can
[24:05]use it in a good way but you have to be very
[24:10]careful not to use it in a bad way because if you
[24:12]use it in a bad way it might harm you it might
[24:16]arm your personality it my arm your religion and it will bring
[24:19]you away from allah subhanaw taala well you will not be attracted
[24:22]you don't feel the energy when you go to the Masjid you
[24:26]don't feel welcome when you go to the Masjid you would rather
[24:28]sit and talk to your friends on Facebook rather going and talking
[24:31]to people and meeting people at the most so there are some
[24:39]challenges but we have to prioritize our time today institutions and organizations
[24:47]and everyone around us they're competing for our time allah subhanaw taala
[24:51]has given me time well awesome in Dalian Sun and Fe host
[24:55]this is the time that Allah has given you you're never going
[24:59]to be able to take it back can you go back to
[25:02]the last hour that passed can you go back to yesterday can
[25:03]you go back to last year that's it you can't go back
[25:08]but this time it's constantly moving the clock is ticking and every
[25:13]day we're getting older every day we're getting closer towards our afterlife
[25:19]ya ayyuhal insan in cacao nila what be cut Han Samuel happy
[25:26]oh and sand oh you mean you are striving every day you're
[25:31]travelling on this journey to your Lord until you will meet your
[25:35]Lord one day am I ready on the day of judgment allah
[25:41]subhanaw taala will stop every single person lotta zulu Kodama abdun yo
[25:47]melty amity hot al no one will be allowed to move an
[25:53]inch on the day of judgement until they're interrogated until they're asked
[25:58]what am i going to be asked about this is a hadith
[26:00]from rasulallah he says I am rahim f nah allah is going
[26:06]to ask me about my life i gave you this whole life
[26:08]that you lived what did you accomplish what did you do during
[26:13]this time did you spend it on social media did you spend
[26:15]it playing on your Playstation playing fortnight what did you spend it
[26:24]on I'm Umbra he FEMA f na one Shabab e FEMA habla
[26:27]and specifically on the time of your youth specifically on the time
[26:32]where you had the power you had the energy you had the
[26:36]mental energy you had the physical energy that's the time Allah is
[26:40]going to ask you about some of the youth you tell them
[26:43]what are you doing with your time they tell you I just
[26:45]woke up what do you want they just woke up noon and
[26:49]they don't know what they're doing with their life they don't know
[26:51]what they're doing with their time this is a time that Allah
[26:56]is going to ask you about this is a time that's not
[27:01]going to come back when Shabaab ii fema habla one miley heme
[27:04]in a neck just about what FEMA and and about your wealth
[27:09]how did you get it and how did you spend it these
[27:11]are things that allah subhanaw taala asks about on the day of
[27:18]judgment however today we see many are wasting their time with social
[27:22]media many are wasting their time in front of a screen many
[27:25]are wasting their time not being productive now sometimes you're in front
[27:29]of a screen you're being productive you're doing something you're working but
[27:33]many of us we are wasting our time and this has many
[27:40]negative impacts and consequences on our lives you know right now there's
[27:45]an addiction they say people are addicted to smoking people are addicted
[27:50]to opioids people are also addicted to screens you know they say
[27:54]your phone it has a psychological impact on you we keep bringing
[27:59]out our phone even though we don't have a call we keep
[28:02]bringing it up to see did I did I receive a message
[28:03]that I receive a like on Facebook that I receive a like
[28:08]on Instagram did someone retweet me we keep bringing it out to
[28:10]see what are people what's going on some people they do it
[28:17]without that without realising on the dinner table when we're eating lunch
[28:21]when we're eating dinner you see the phone is also eating with
[28:25]us we're eating and the phone is right there with us so
[28:28]we have to be careful we have to make sure that we
[28:34]are not consumed with this technology and for some people that becomes
[28:39]a an addiction that ends up harming their lives it creates insecurities
[28:44]it creates a feeling of obsession some people they're always going on
[28:48]Facebook scrolling on Instagram scrolling just to see what people are doing
[28:52]in their lives what did this person eat what did she drink
[28:56]what did this person wear to that wedding sitting them just wanting
[28:59]to look at what people are doing and this creates an insecurity
[29:03]I see what other people are doing now I kill him and
[29:05]I say huh I need to do that as well I need
[29:08]to also where buy a new outfit I need to go on
[29:11]a vacation my friend they went and they bought a new set
[29:15]of furniture in their home now I need to go and buy
[29:17]a new set of furniture and here you see it causes problems
[29:21]between a husband and a wife and it causes problems within the
[29:25]family you know they say that a big reason for divorce in
[29:29]this era that we're living in one of the reasons is Facebook
[29:33]today people one of the reasons a list of reasons for divorce
[29:37]they say one of them is Facebook and social media as well
[29:43]because we're always consumed and obsessed with what people are doing in
[29:47]their lives we're always want to see how people are living their
[29:49]lives and then you ask this person how many friends do you
[29:53]have they tell you on Facebook I have 3,000 friends in reality
[29:56]how many friends do you have I'm sitting and eating alone I
[29:58]don't have any friends it creates a false sense of connection it
[30:06]creates a false sense of connection where we are fooling ourselves and
[30:09]then you see when we're actually sitting in a gathering everyone's on
[30:13]their phone no one's talking to one another no one is being
[30:16]there with one another you want to have real good friends you
[30:21]want to have friends that will help you and support you come
[30:24]to the Masjid here you will find friends that befriend you because
[30:29]of allah subhanahu wata'ala and allah says in the quran and allah
[30:37]o yama even Bava homely bhavan I do inland muta peen Allah
[30:40]says all relationships on the day of judgment are going to turn
[30:48]into animosities any relationship that is not founded upon principles divine principles
[30:52]and satisfaction of allah subhanaw taala is going to turn into an
[30:56]animosity why because on the day of judgment i'm going to look
[31:01]at that time that I wasted laughing with that person enjoying my
[31:04]time with that person I'm going to say only if I spent
[31:07]that time doing something good only if I spent that time doing
[31:10]something that brings me closer to allah subhanaw taala so I'm going
[31:14]to look at person who was bringing me away from Allah and
[31:18]distracting me from Allah and I'm going to say this person destroyed
[31:20]my life yeah late Annie Lamott takaful on and kalila only if
[31:26]I did not befriend that person but a relationship that was founded
[31:30]upon the satisfaction of allah subhanaw taala a friendship that is built
[31:35]in the Masjid with the Muslims with the community in the Monona
[31:41]oh wow that is a relationship that you're going to be proud
[31:44]of on the day of judgement and this is why Allah says
[31:51]Allah Yama is in Bottomly Bhavan I do Ellen what Athene all
[31:55]relationships are going to turn sour except a relationship that is based
[31:59]on the satisfaction of allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala that is going to be
[32:02]a healthy relationship that will carry on into the afterlife this is
[32:10]one you want to find real friends you find friends in the
[32:14]Masjid and you want to feel good with your time be friend
[32:21]with allah subhanahu wata'ala Allah and Allah not hopefully him when I
[32:28]imagine those who are the awliya of allah those who are close
[32:31]and connected with allah llahu for nilanium there's no fear upon them
[32:35]well our home yasser noon and they are not sad be a
[32:40]friend with allah and you will see that your life is going
[32:45]to shift to the better your life is going to become much
[32:47]better this is one reason my dear brothers and sisters where people
[32:52]are unmasked where people are feeling unaffiliated because of the many distractions
[32:55]because allah subhanaw taala you have to place allah in your hearts
[33:00]but the hearts can only accept one love the heart is like
[33:05]a room you only bring one thing in that room if you
[33:08]want to bring something else in that room you would have to
[33:10]take out there other things you would have to take out the
[33:11]Haram you would have to take out the relationships that are unauthentic
[33:17]and illegitimate to bring a loss of hano to allah in and
[33:20]similarly with our hearts we have to empty our hearts from anything
[33:24]void from any distractions for Allah subhanAllah to enter into our hearts
[33:33]a second struggle that many of the youth face and deal with
[33:36]on a daily basis and it's very prevalent in our communities and
[33:42]in our societies today and this not only destroys the life of
[33:47]the youth but it also destroys the whole community that is drugs
[33:53]drugs today what's unfortunate is that societies and government instead of making
[34:00]drugs something illegal and keeping them off the streets they're making them
[34:05]legal day after day they're making them legal and they're promoting them
[34:10]and anyone has access to them why are drugs Haram in Islam
[34:16]why is anything that intoxicates you Haram in Islam because allah subhanaw
[34:21]taala has given you the greatest gift a gift that he did
[34:25]not give anyone else a blessing that no no other creation has
[34:30]and that is the blessing of the intellect well allah subhana what
[34:37]differentiates you from anyone else from the animals from other creation is
[34:40]the power of the intellect while a cat karramna bani adam' and
[34:45]we have honored and blessed and dignified the children of adam with
[34:50]what Allah dignified me by giving me strong hands and strong legs
[34:55]and muscles no animals have stronger muscles by giving me strong eyesight
[34:59]no there are some animals to have stronger eyesight by giving me
[35:04]stronger senses no spiders have stronger senses Allah gave me an intellect
[35:09]something that others don't have and that is what made me the
[35:17]human being becomes better and chosen by Allah Subhan Allah over all
[35:21]the other creation but today you find some people for one hour
[35:24]they're sitting and they want to have fun they're willing to burn
[35:29]all their brain cells kill all their brain cells intoxicate themselves why
[35:34]is alcohol Haram in Islam why is any intoxicant Haram in Islam
[35:38]because it takes away your your ability to judge it takes away
[35:42]your to differentiate between right and wrong Allah wants us to walk
[35:47]straight and differentiy our and make right decisions in our lives but
[35:52]today through drugs through alcohol many of the youth are killing their
[35:56]brain cells and ruining their lives ruining their futures and ruining society
[36:02]all around them Allah says in the Quran yeah you had Lavina
[36:09]a man who animal some ruin may sorrow al ansar al-islam or
[36:14]Ritchson minimalist reborn which Tinubu Houla Allah come to flee home this
[36:18]is the act of Shaitaan Shaitaan encourages someone to go and do
[36:21]drugs Shaitaan encourages someone to go and drink alcohol to go and
[36:28]burn and kill their brain cells and this causes harm and damage
[36:32]that you could never go back you could never go and fix
[36:37]it you know right now there are studies a study by Duke
[36:41]University it says that people that smoke marijuana during their youth people
[36:47]that smoke marijuana allots during their young age during their youth on
[36:53]average they lose they lose 8 IQ points later on they come
[36:57]and they measure their IQ they see they've lost 8 IQ points
[37:02]and many other many other harms it harms your body it harms
[37:05]your men the ability to judge your ability to communicate there are
[37:11]many harms that are caused and this is why it's Haram Laura
[37:16]well now there are ability Aslam Aslam does not want you to
[37:19]harm yourself anything that is considered and deemed to be a harm
[37:22]for you this is Haram because allah subhanaw taala wants us to
[37:28]make decisions correctly today you find some youths they are falling into
[37:33]the drug and the problem with marijuana and the reason i'm talking
[37:36]about marijuana is because i've been asked about this in the last
[37:38]year many times people are telling me is marijuana hollande is marijuana
[37:43]ha ha of course haram it's an intoxicant it takes away your
[37:49]ability to judge your ability to make right decisions err ends up
[37:53]hurting you and harming you and all so marijuana it's considered to
[37:58]be a gateway drug what's a gateway drug meaning that right now
[38:03]I'm high I'm feeling excited I'm happy but then later on this
[38:07]is not going to be enough for me in a few months
[38:10]in a few weeks in a few years that's not gonna be
[38:13]enough for me so what do you do you start going after
[38:15]another drug you start going after other intoxicants that end up causing
[38:23]more damage you know right now in the United States and Denver
[38:25]it was Colorado was the first I believe states which legalized marijuana
[38:33]now I was reading just recently now after they have legalized marijuana
[38:37]now they want to legalize something else called mushrooms which causes hallucinations
[38:42]now they want to legalize that maybe in a few years we're
[38:46]gonna see them legalize cocaine I don't know so it's an addiction
[38:51]and people that are addicted that's it they can't get out of
[38:55]it I know some people who are addicted to drugs their families
[39:01]have spent so much money their families cry their mother their father
[39:06]their don't know what to do their son and their daughter they
[39:09]started perhaps they started with something like marijuana but then it goes
[39:13]into something that is much worse and once someone is intoxicated that's
[39:18]it it's going to be very difficult to get out of that
[39:22]it's a trap it's a trap that you're never going to be
[39:27]able to get out of some people they say I want to
[39:29]feel a high yes you feel a high for a few minutes
[39:32]and then you go down low you fall and then you say
[39:35]I want to feel high again you come up and then you
[39:38]keep falling down you keep falling down you want to feel a
[39:41]real high turn to allah subhanaw taala connect with allah that is
[39:45]the only form of satisfaction where allah says in the quran in
[39:52]LED Nakuru or a boon of law temesta mu tetanus a human
[39:54]male a cat or a lot of our food when i attacks
[39:58]on you were a pure Belgian Attila T kuntum - I don't
[40:03]be with Allah Allah will be with you Allah will help you
[40:06]and another verse Allah says in Melanson Kanika honua a domicile Rajasuya
[40:16]where the Masahiro man you are in the mousseline this is why
[40:20]the mosque is very important because if you come to the mosque
[40:23]if you pray you're going to be able to deal with the
[40:27]challenges in life you're going to be able to deal with challenges
[40:30]that come in your way later on in life the third struggle
[40:35]my dear brothers and sisters that many of the youth face and
[40:38]it's a reason why many of the youth are unmasked and unaffiliated
[40:44]with religion is because of society because of the changing values that
[40:49]exist in society today when you go to school when you go
[40:52]to the university you see some they're talking about values that we
[40:58]did not grow up learning about and in fact values are changing
[41:02]in this Western culture you know just in the 70s in the
[41:05]United States and the 70s homosexuality was deemed as an illness it
[41:13]was deemed as something a psychological illness today if anyone questions or
[41:19]criticizes or says anything right away this person is looked at as
[41:23]a person who discriminates a person who is intolerant a person who
[41:26]cannot live with people in society my dear brothers and sisters should
[41:30]we fall in the trap of the values that are thrown at
[41:36]us by Hollywood and by by the TV and by institutions and
[41:39]organizations no I see some Muslims unfortunately because they want to feel
[41:45]that they fit in they want to feel that they belong they're
[41:48]willing to go and let go of their own values you have
[41:53]your own values why do you need to go and change your
[41:54]own values why do you need to go and compromise your own
[41:58]values do other people compromise their values for you no but I
[42:02]see some Muslims right now yeah we should do this and we
[42:06]should do that and they they let go of everything that they
[42:09]they know our religion and our faith teaches us values principles that
[42:13]we have to abide by that we have to stand with and
[42:17]we will learn our values when we come to the Masjid when
[42:22]we listen to the lectures when we come and we pray on
[42:23]when we gather with a community when we build a community that
[42:29]will help us develop and build our identity if I don't have
[42:32]my community to support me if I don't have my brothers and
[42:37]sisters in the Masjid that pray with me yes I'm going to
[42:39]be easily convinced by others and I'm going to be easily brainwashed
[42:43]by others this is why we need our community and we need
[42:50]to prioritize our own values and we should not give up our
[42:53]values and turn to allah subhanaw taala for some of the youth
[43:01]one of them some things they say is I don't feel comfortable
[43:04]I've done many things that are Haram I've done many things that
[43:08]are wrong I don't feel comfortable going back to the Masjid don't
[43:12]ever say that you know I because when you say that that
[43:14]means you're limiting the mercy of allah subhanaw taala you're saying Allah
[43:18]is not merciful by saying I don't feel that I don't feel
[43:23]comfortable coming to the Masjid Allah is not going to forgive me
[43:25]you're saying God does not have the ability to forgive me and
[43:30]this is one of the greatest acts of injustice logic Natoma rahmat
[43:35]allah and allah through the Nuba jamia don't give up hope in
[43:40]the mercy of Allah Allah forgives all of the sins there are
[43:44]beautiful hadith from Imam Hassan he says Yamashiro's Shabab alaikum be palpable
[43:51]Akira Fattah to a la reina tome and palpable Akira for Sabu
[44:00]dunya and akhira whoa a la Morena man Paula but dunya vas
[44:04]our Binaca he says o youth work and strive for the aftera
[44:11]work and strive for the afterlife because wallah we have seen people
[44:15]who strive for the afterlife Allah gives them the afterlife and this
[44:19]life but we have never seen someone who strives for this life
[44:25]and they get the afterlife you work for the akaroa will give
[44:27]you the ocular and this life but if you only work for
[44:30]this dunya Allah is only going to give you this dunya if
[44:32]you get it I'll conclude with the story of a young man
[44:36]who turned against his society who turned against everything going his way
[44:41]and joined the rasulullah sallallahu on a human one day a Rasul
[44:48]Allah comes to the Masjid in the morning and he sees a
[44:51]young man who's sleeping and he's covered with something he's barely covering
[44:56]his body rasool allah when he used to come to the masjid
[45:02]used to look in the faces of all the muslims this was
[45:03]how the sort of LA was everyone felt connected with the prophets
[45:08]he used to look at the faces he sees the face of
[45:09]this young man a new face he's never seen this man before
[45:14]so he tells him Oh young man who are you how are
[45:20]you that young man he tells him Yaris hola my name is
[45:23]Abdul Bohan Boehm is an idol my name is Abdul Boehm he
[45:28]tells him Yaris or Allah I have left my family I have
[45:33]left my community I have left everything to be with you and
[45:35]join your community what sort of Maya tells him what's your story
[45:39]he tells him eres una ma my father was a rich man
[45:46]my father passed away and I came under the custody he was
[45:51]a young man I came under the custody of my uncle and
[45:53]my uncle he was the one who was taking care of me
[45:57]he was Don who was providing for me I was living with
[46:02]my mother under the custody of my uncle and my uncle he
[46:05]promised me that if I worked for him if I support him
[46:10]in his business he's going to give me his daughter to marry
[46:12]and he's going to help me establish a family so why as
[46:18]I was doing the business trips for my uncle I passed by
[46:21]Medina and I came to the Masjid and I heard you reciting
[46:25]the Quran I heard you reciting the beautiful verses of the Quran
[46:29]and I felt gravitated towards the Quran now I can't leave I
[46:34]stay here for a long time at night I go back to
[46:38]my family and then I come the next day I want to
[46:39]listen to the Quran I come from far I'm listening to the
[46:44]Quran recited by rasulullah sallallahu alayhi wa until one day i decide
[46:50]on converting the religion of Islam I go to my uncle I
[46:51]tell him oh my dear uncle you're older than me I want
[46:56]to join the religion of Islam but I want you to join
[46:59]with me out of respect for you let us both go to
[47:03]a sort of law and joined the religion he says as soon
[47:05]as I told my my uncle about you my uncle became angry
[47:09]and he says stay away from that man I met don't go
[47:11]to him and if you go to him I'm going to take
[47:14]away everything from you your money your wealth I'm not going to
[47:18]give you my daughter to marry and I'm going to take away
[47:21]everything from you says I saw myself in a problem my uncle
[47:27]is going to take away everything from me my whole life is
[47:30]going to be ruined if I joined the religion of Islam but
[47:34]this young man he says I decided to join the religion of
[47:37]Islam I was convinced that the religion of Islam is the truth
[47:42]I decided to join the religion of Islam and my uncle he
[47:45]took away everything from me even the clothes that I was wearing
[47:48]he took them away from me I go to my mother not
[47:51]wearing any clothes so my mother she comes and she takes a
[47:55]bow Giada she takes a blanket she cuts it in half I
[48:01]cover myself on the bottom and I throw something on top and
[48:05]this is how I came to you or as'll Allah I left
[48:06]my family I left my community I left everything for your sake
[48:11]or asana ba what sort of law tells him your name is
[48:16]not abdu'l-bahá me anymore your name is Abdullah the old Buju Dayne
[48:20]Abdullah the one who's wearing the bujha de the one who is
[48:26]covered with two garments this is your name this young man he
[48:30]was young he used to sit and used to he didn't have
[48:33]a house he didn't have anything everything was taken from him he
[48:35]used to sit in the corner of a Masjid there was a
[48:38]corner in the Masjid of the Prophet which was called a sofa
[48:42]he used to sit in the corner of the Masjid and he
[48:43]used to read the Quran and cry when he's reciting the Quran
[48:48]one day I'm not an l-cut Bob he passes by him and
[48:52]he hears this man crying he tells him be quiet you're crying
[48:55]too loud Rasool Allah tells him yah Omar otoko phenomenal why Ben
[49:02]Oh leave him this is one of those who have returned to
[49:06]allah subhanaw taala manila wah bean this young man he was doing
[49:10]da for Shahada he wanted to be granted martyrdom the muslims they
[49:18]go on the expedition of Tabuk an expedition that there was no
[49:23]no battle took place there was no fighting took place this young
[49:25]man he died in that expedition while they were travelling was sort
[49:30]of lhasa allahu allahu allah he himself buried him he placed him
[49:35]in his grave Abdullah bin Masood he says when I saw the
[49:37]way Rasul Allah was carrying this young man Abdullah the Butcher Dean
