[0:03]foreign [Music] my God is [Music] hello foreign [Music] why not foreign
[2:04][Music] for the Hasting of his reappearance and for our cries of
[2:40]Allah for Rising along with his cries and for his prayers to
[2:47]be answered with regards to his followers and his lovers recite another
[2:51]loud I'm not alone my dear brothers and sisters it goes without
[3:14]saying that tonight is an incredibly special and auspicious night according to
[3:25]our traditions the narrations of the prophet and the tonight is perhaps
[3:32]most likely to be late it's also referred to aslay johani which
[3:41]is in reference to a Hadith by the holy prophet when a
[3:46]Bedouin comes to him and asks him which of the three nights
[3:50]is the prophet said to him it's these three you should hope
[3:56]that one of them is so strive as much as you can
[4:00]to repent and to seek nearness Allah the Bedouin said to the
[4:06]prophet that I can't because I'm a nomad and I'm in the
[4:11]desert it's difficult for me to observe all three nights the prophet
[4:14]said to him then make sure you observe this one the 23rd
[4:21]the eve of the 23rd of the holy month of Ramadan it's
[4:26]an incredibly special night according to our traditions it is the night
[4:32]that not only did the Holy Quran descend but also all of
[4:42]the previous Divine Revelations in other words the Psalms of David the
[4:48]Old Testament the Torah as well as the indeed also revealed them
[4:55]on this night and so the significance and gravity of we all
[5:10]know as Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tells us that it's better than
[5:14]a thousand months which is almost 83 years a thousand months equates
[5:26]to 83 years so longer than the average human lifespan whatever you
[5:36]do tonight will be Amplified if you truly appreciate the value of
[5:42]leilator now why is it important to appreciate its value because if
[5:51]we don't then it won't be worth a thousand months imagine you
[5:57]have a gym but you don't know what this is it's still
[6:03]raw it's still a rock it hasn't been cut or refined and
[6:12]so even if it's worth a hundred million dollars if you don't
[6:17]know the value of this gem you'll simply use it as a
[6:22]paperweight and so to you this gem is worth nothing it has
[6:25]no value you could also be someone who truly appreciates the value
[6:31]of the gem you know it's worth a hundred million dollars which
[6:35]means that you'll take care of it as it should be taken
[6:41]care of you'll give it its due care and attention because you
[6:45]know how much it's worth or you could be someone who knows
[6:52]partially the value of this gym maybe you think it's worth a
[6:58]hundred thousand maybe you believe that it's worth a million because when
[7:03]your father left it to you he said that this is worth
[7:07]a lot and a lot in your mind could be a million
[7:09]five million 10 million so how much do care and attention you
[7:17]ascribe to something is proportionate to an equivalent to the value of
[7:26]that object to you I could be someone who appreciates the value
[7:32]of later up to 10 or 50 or 70 percent however foreign
[7:40]to be worth over a thousand months or the equivalent of the
[7:49]average human lifespan or more I have to truly know its value
[7:56]the fact that the Quran was revealed on this night Allah continues
[8:06]to send the angels year after year on every day which is
[8:11]why the Imam says go and debate with them using none other
[8:22]than this verse in Surah to prove the existence of Aja and
[8:30]a proof and a representative and a vice gerund of Allah on
[8:34]the earth at all times that's all you need continuation and it
[8:45]means that this happens not just in the lifetime of rasulullah but
[8:50]also every subsequent year until the day of judgment once we begin
[8:57]to appreciate the value of this night and how it factors into
[9:01]or rather determines Our Fate that's when every breath we take every
[9:10]syllable we utter every action that originates from us is aligned with
[9:21]the value of which is why for me to talk too much
[9:24]tonight I think is a mistake but are Scholars such as he
[9:34]says that one of the recommended Deeds on this night is it
[9:40]is to engage in scholarly discussions it is to acquire knowledge it
[9:47]is to increase your marifa because again without matter you don't appreciate
[9:53]the value of this night you have to have knowledge of how
[10:01]to evaluate a gem before you can put a price on it
[10:03]otherwise it's just something that someone tells you and you take their
[10:08]word for it is something that our Scholars have said and stressed
[10:17]is part of the Armand of Leila now we're told and we've
[10:29]been instructed by the holy prophet and his progeny that what you're
[10:36]supposed to do on later is means what it is to keep
[10:47]something alive or revive something that's already dead it comes and it
[10:52]stems from the word hayat so one of the things we're supposed
[10:59]to do tonight is to keep the night alive most people take
[11:07]that to mean that you're supposed to stay up all night until
[11:12]fetch of time which of course is recommended for me to fall
[11:19]asleep means that I'm going to miss out I'm missing out on
[11:27]The Descent of celestial beings on God's angels on the blessings and
[11:31]mercy that this night brings so don't fall asleep sure but is
[11:39]that really all means or is there something more to it I
[11:44]want to talk a little bit about this inshallah in the few
[11:49]minutes that I have At Your Service so that we can once
[11:52]again try and make the most of this night mean what does
[12:05]hayat mean to live to truly be alive what does that mean
[12:10]how do we become alive bodily functions are things we share with
[12:18]every living human on the face of this planet but is everyone
[12:24]truly alive or do we observe people who are dead despite the
[12:28]fact that they are animated meaning that they walk and talk and
[12:35]breathe and eat and they travel the land they track the road
[12:42]but are they truly alive when you look at them you feel
[12:47]sorry for them you feel that given how distance they are from
[12:52]Divine guidance they are no more alive than a rock some of
[12:57]the things I've seen in this country as we drive down the
[13:02]road you look at these people and you feel sorry for them
[13:04]you're like is this person really alive or are they dead but
[13:11]continue to function as though they're alive look at what the Quran
[13:20]says and tonight's topic brothers and sisters is the single most important
[13:27]topic that we can discuss because as I said everything we do
[13:31]tonight matters and we can't waste time the reason you're not supposed
[13:36]to fall asleep is because you're wasting precious and valuable time so
[13:40]if I speak about a topic that is secondary that is peripheral
[13:45]I'm wasting your time and so you have every right to grab
[13:52]me by the collar on the day of judgment and say that
[13:56]these minutes and these hours were worth more than 83 years and
[14:01]you talk to us about this topic and that topic just because
[14:05]it's interesting just because it's attention grabbing just for the views and
[14:11]the hits you wasted our time you have every right to do
[14:17]that and so the topic that I talk about has to be
[14:19]the single most important and most relevant and most pertinent to us
[14:25]so that we can make the most of tonight but I say
[14:34]and do so in the most bold manner that the topic we
[14:42]will talk about is the single most important I will present the
[14:47]evidence then I'll present the topic why should I present the evidence
[14:51]because brothers and sisters you should learn to challenge your speakers unfortunately
[14:57]there is a tendency for people to listen passively to those who
[15:03]sit on the pulpit without ever challenging them taking everything they say
[15:10]as the gospel truth that's a mistake and I'll be the first
[15:13]to call for you to challenge your speakers a jurist of the
[15:22]highest caliber is someone we're supposed to obey we're supposed to follow
[15:27]their lead because the imams have told us to follow the lead
[15:30]of Scholars who are righteous and Pious and who are jurists in
[15:35]other words they've reached the highest level of ishta but a speaker
[15:39]is not someone you should simply take his word as though it
[15:45]is divine revelation if you hear someone from the Blessed Pulpit recite
[15:51]poetry of Rumi be bold enough and brave enough even if you
[15:59]don't want to disrespect the speaker take him aside after the lecture
[16:02]and say how dare you recite poetry by a man who says
[16:08]that was khabib how dare you if someone sitting on the pulpit
[16:15]says to you and speaks about the virtues of this Arif and
[16:18]that Mystic take him aside and say where is from this instead
[16:24]of teaching us the words of the as the imams themselves have
[16:32]instructed us why are you reciting this garbage to us that both
[16:44]wastes our time and confuses The Listener where are you from the
[16:52]Hadith of Imam asada who says beware of ever putting someone just
[17:01]beneath the of Allah the distance between and the grandest of Scholars
[17:11]is the distance between the Earth and the highest position in the
[17:17]celestial Realm all of our Scholars the righteous good Paris are nothing
[17:27]but the dust underneath the feet of Allah and you're talking to
[17:32]me about this Arif having extraordinary abilities being able to go through
[17:39]walls and do this and do that please no offense talk to
[17:47]me about talk to me about the Salaam and if I praise
[17:52]if I praise a scholar should be in unison with the Imam
[17:59]and it shows his proximity to the of Allah not places him
[18:03]in a position that is parallel to the Imam as though they're
[18:06]in competition somehow challenge your speakers don't be passive listeners and to
[18:15]be able to challenge your speakers there's a nuanced point to be
[18:19]made here you also have to elevate your maripa and your knowledge
[18:23]you should familiarize yourself with the literature of the Yahoo bait and
[18:29]the Holy Quran you should elevate your rank when it comes to
[18:33]the Sciences of Islam so that you can make a bold stance
[18:39]and challenge your speakers once they make a mistake and of course
[18:42]we're prone to making errors and mistakes some of us inadvertently by
[18:49]accident by mistake we all make mistakes and some deliberately and it's
[18:56]those speakers that you must challenge so what is the evidence that
[19:01]what I'm about to present you is the most important topic it
[19:08]is this we said right to keep it alive how do you
[19:16]keep later alive by being alive yourself how do you maintain your
[19:22]own life look at the Quran foreign not speaking to atheists he's
[19:42]not speaking to pagans he's not addressing idolaters he's speaking to the
[19:49]Believers he says oh you who believe respond to Allah and the
[19:53]messenger when he invites you to that which gives you life so
[20:05]this hayat is connected to the hajja of Allah in his time
[20:13]and to the nephs of rasulullah and those that He appointed to
[20:18]lead the nation toward guidance after him now what does the prophet
[20:32]say the holy prophet invites us to that which gives us life
[20:36]how he says majority think about this it doesn't mean that the
[20:51]the death of the one who does not recognize the Imam of
[20:56]his time does not have madifa of the Imam of his time
[21:00]will be a death of jaheliyah only it means his entire life
[21:04]was the life of jahili not knowing the Imam of my time
[21:10]makes me a person who lived in the time of absolute and
[21:14]utter ignorance the time when they used to commit infanticide they would
[21:21]bury their daughters alive they would eat the most disgusting and repulsive
[21:26]things and thought that that was good nourishing food they would dip
[21:31]camel hair in Blood and eat it as a delicacy they would
[21:38]commit the most atrocious most violent most vicious acts and thought that
[21:45]was bravery a person who doesn't recognize the Imam of his time
[21:50]says rasulullah that person will live a life of ignorance and die
[22:00]a death of ignorance Imam Assad elaborates further he says a death
[22:07]of disbelief and hypocrisy if I don't know the Imam of my
[22:14]time and I don't connect to the Imam of my time and
[22:17]so this is the most important topic isn't it because it means
[22:22]the difference between a death of ignorance and a life of disbelief
[22:27]and a life that is truly alive makes a big difference which
[22:35]is why my dear brothers and sisters if we talk about other
[22:42]things the branches of religion if we talk about tonight is that
[22:50]not appropriate if we talk about marital relations if we talk about
[22:57]the relationship of community members with each other if we talk about
[23:02]if we talk about parenting if we talk about all these topics
[23:06]that have their roots in our faith and our religion they're all
[23:11]good topics they're all relevant topics they're all very important things that
[23:15]we need to be mindful of but if we don't connect back
[23:22]to the source of Our Lives then it's all a waste of
[23:24]time if we preach to a dead corpse if you deliver the
[23:36]most articulate and eloquent lectures about these religious topics but you're doing
[23:40]it to a dead corpse have you made a difference will the
[23:45]dead corpse benefit from this so what do you need to do
[23:51]then you need to start not with the branches but the very
[23:54]roots of this tree the root of the tree the thing that
[23:58]gives us life and hayat according to the verse that I recited
[24:04]is to connect to the of Allah brothers and sisters let's not
[24:11]waste our time what does it actually mean to connect to the
[24:17]huja and the Imam of my time I might recite poetry and
[24:22]that's beautiful I might read after the madness beautiful I might put
[24:31]up a Banner or cloth on the wall that reminds us of
[24:34]the Imam these are all good things but that's not the core
[24:38]of marife of the Imam of the time is it the core
[24:42]of marife the core has to do with connecting with him in
[24:48]a way where he cast his blessed Shadow on my life all
[24:52]the time it means that the imam's presence is felt at all
[25:02]times in every dealing and transaction and relationship in the morning and
[25:09]in the night again this is beyond just reciting this is beyond
[25:14]just reciting Dua and which are all incredibly important ways of connecting
[25:18]to the Imam but we're talking about the actual connection that happens
[25:22]after you recite all these things in other words the objective the
[25:28]ultimate conclusion it means that the amount of my time is a
[25:40]presence that affects my actions this example I'm sure you've heard before
[25:47]if they ask you for instance do you believe that Jupiter has
[25:54]12 moons you might say well no I didn't but then if
[26:00]I present the evidence to you and tell you that NASA's voyagers
[26:07]Voyager emissions they extend back in the late 70s and early 80s
[26:11]they sent information back to him NASA headquarters that proved that Jupiter
[26:18]has 12 moons now do you believe you might say yes I've
[26:23]seen the evidence I've seen the facts I've looked at scientific papers
[26:30]I believe that Jupiter has 12 moons my next question to you
[26:36]is does the existence of 12 moons that's circulate and orbit around
[26:40]Jupiter does it have any impact on your life and the answer
[26:46]of course is no while I believe in controvertibly and without a
[26:51]shred of doubt that Jupiter exists that it has 12 moons but
[26:56]that belief of mind is not translated into action it doesn't affect
[27:02]my decision making it doesn't affect my relationships it doesn't affect my
[27:08]marriage it doesn't affect my connection to my parents it has no
[27:12]bearing on my life whatsoever it's a belief that is firm and
[27:18]solid but that which is also irrelevant makes no difference to me
[27:21]whether it has 12 moons or five moons or no moons at
[27:25]all the presence of the Imam does it have a palpable impact
[27:32]on my life or not for instance when I'm about to marry
[27:36]someone and will I marry someone who has a connection with the
[27:41]Imam of the time do I believe that this spouse is going
[27:46]to help me establish a stronger bond with the Imam of the
[27:51]time these are questions that almost nobody asks when it comes to
[27:56]making one of the most important and strategic decisions of my life
[27:59]which is marriage these are not questions that factor into that equation
[28:04]usually it's about is she beautiful is he Rich does he have
[28:11]a solid career does he have a house does she have an
[28:13]important family that somehow I can benefit from right these are the
[28:19]questions that we ask when it comes to starting a business is
[28:24]this business something that's going to help me in my service to
[28:29]the Imam in my relationship with the Imam or is it going
[28:32]to hinder my relationship with them is it going to occupy my
[28:38]life such that I will have no time to even think about
[28:40]the Imam let alone surgeon this career path that I want to
[28:46]choose I remember once a sister came to me and she said
[28:53]that I'm studying in a particular field I won't mention it because
[28:55]I want to serve the Imam of the time I said well
[29:00]that's good alhamdulillah this intention that you have to serve the Imam
[29:04]is wonderful Traditions tell us that if you can prepare just one
[29:08]arrow and place it underneath your pillow in preparation for the return
[29:13]of the Imam Allah will look at this person and say look
[29:19]at him he's actually thinking about his email he's trying to do
[29:25]a small bit even though it's negligible but he's trying to do
[29:31]something for the amount of time and maybe the Hadith says because
[29:35]of that Allah will grant you to see them to live long
[29:39]enough to meet him and to serve his cause so I said
[29:47]to the sister I said your intention is well placed may Allah
[29:51]bless you but did you ever stop to think what does the
[29:55]Imam want me to do instead of I want to do this
[30:00]to serve the Imam what would he want from you maybe the
[30:05]Imam wants you to get married as soon as possible and to
[30:10]raise a good righteous family and to have children who would serve
[30:14]them maybe that's what Allah wants from you look at the traditional
[30:22]example when it comes to marriage look at the Hadith and the
[30:27]instructions of the imams when it comes to raising a good family
[30:30]what career is going to hinder your ability to raise good kids
[30:34]because you'd have to stay away from them because you are busy
[30:39]building your own career and whatnot then it becomes problematic right the
[30:47]sad reality is brothers and sisters is that the Imam is non-existent
[30:54]just like the 12 moons of Jupiter is not existent in my
[31:00]life and the life of those like me which is he addresses
[31:08]and he says to him be heavy will only foreign of the
[31:23]son of the best maid foreign [Music] maybe once or twice tarid
[31:56]is the one who's always thrown out the one who's not welcome
[32:01]in my house again if you look at my life where is
[32:16]where is e to be found in our Gatherings and our weddings
[32:22]in our interactions and our business dealings we're seeing and then we
[32:29]wonder why the Hadith says that when the Imam returns thousands of
[32:36]people in the most religious place in the holy city of najaf
[32:42]and go from they will look at him and say go back
[32:47]to where you came from my life is set I do what
[32:52]I do and I'm happy I don't need you to come in
[32:56]and disrupt my life I don't need you to come in and
[33:00]tell me to do this and to do that because I've created
[33:02]a routine for myself I've laid out the road map from my
[33:09]work and my family I have a particular way of raising my
[33:12]kids for you to come and give me instructions and read down
[33:17]my neck brothers and sisters in our Gatherings when we sit down
[33:29]and talk what do we talk about usually it's either the economy
[33:34]or politics or tensions and infighting within the community or Viva and
[33:42]Slanders these sorts of things where is the Imam in these gatherings
[33:49]say it is great poet and someone that the imams of their
[33:57]debate have spoken of which is a highly reliable collection of Hadith
[34:07]attributed to our Imam Imam says that I fell asleep and in
[34:18]my dream I saw the holy prophet standing next to his nephs
[34:27]another man the prophet looked at me and said say your salaams
[34:34]to my family then the prophet's activity so I said to the
[34:43]prophet who was this man the holy message who replied and the
[34:54]one who praises us and recites poetry for us then the prophet
[35:01]said tell our Shia to memorize his poetry to that extent what
[35:08]was the one thing and he has incredible beautiful poetry about the
[35:16]underground in particular the Imam is coming he used to sit with
[35:23]other Fellowship and they would engage in vain discussions like I said
[35:28]the economy politics this time then he would say let's change the
[35:31]subject let's talk about the Imam of our time let's speak of
[35:37]the merits of Imam then they would switch subjects again and he
[35:41]would say let's go back to speaking about the other movies because
[35:44]these are the things that will remain for us in the aftermath
[35:49]all of these discussions are worthless they make no difference whether good
[35:54]or bad who became president who became prime minister who the opposition
[35:59]is all these things are complete and waste of time on the
[36:02]day of judgment they'll bring these boxes we'll open them and they're
[36:05]completely empty why are they empty where are my Deeds the angels
[36:11]will say well he wasted your time what these [Music] I would
[36:24]hate to stay too long and imagine this where the remembrance doesn't
[36:30]happen it doesn't occur in those gatherings the Imam of the time
[36:37]has to be ever present brothers and sisters who's one of our
[36:45]most preeminent Scholars and bless his soul he has a book titled
[36:52]family I don't know if it's been translated into Urdu but I
[36:59]imagine it is because it has been translated into other languages the
[37:06]book addresses his son and his daughter Muhammad and father in that
[37:15]book he says to his son you have this peacock in your
[37:21]house and you'll love this peacock I'm sure you've seen peacocks right
[37:25]they're so ornate and elaborate and beautiful the colors are so vivid
[37:31]and striking you'll love your peacock don't you now imagine if you
[37:35]lost this peacock what's going on you're gonna go left right and
[37:40]Center you're going to knock on doors they're going to go to
[37:43]your neighbor's they're gonna go and search for the peacock across the
[37:49]entire city why because you love it you like it it's yours
[37:53]and you feel this sense of connection with it your Imam says
[38:00]then says to is your Imam has been an occultation have you
[38:06]search for him have you even tried to look for him in
[38:12]Iraq and places where the tyrant's regime executed innumerable people God knows
[38:22]how many people were executed under the bathroom Gene and my family
[38:29]Allah dozens and dozens you ask any Iraqi any shihad in Iraq
[38:34]and they'll tell you the same story but what's worse than having
[38:39]a son or brother or father executed is not knowing what happened
[38:46]to your family members these are people who were taken into custody
[38:49]my great-grandfather was one of them he was in his 80s when
[38:56]he was arrested from his home after Salah in the holy city
[39:00]not knowing whether they're still alive or dead is much more daunting
[39:09]and difficult than knowing that we're executed and people who lost family
[39:15]members like this they have this tendency every single day they look
[39:21]at the door hoping that their son is going to knock it
[39:26]walk right in they're always waiting for him have you noticed they
[39:31]keep their room they don't touch them they don't give their room
[39:35]to somebody else because maybe one day he's gonna come back right
[39:40]they cry for him yeah all cried until you went blind his
[39:47]son was allotted would send him messages every once in a while
[39:53]we have a Hadith that he will send them a message confirming
[39:58]that he was still alive foreign because he's constantly waiting for his
[40:05]Yusuf to come back how do we wait for the use of
[40:12]a father this Yusuf was an outcast he's not some friends in
[40:20]Egypt he's thrown out tonight when I broke my fast I took
[40:25]the data I thought to myself Imam Zaman breaks his fast every
[40:29]day all alone We Gather with brothers and sisters and Families and
[40:35]yet our Imam has to break his fast without anyone with him
[40:40]do we even think about the Imam do we try to search
[40:47]for him alhamdulillah alhamdulillah that we have more meaning around the world
[40:52]who are much better than me and they actually do put in
[40:59]effort when they recite Dua and not too bad they do so
[41:02]with a Burning Heart they go out into the desert on hilltops
[41:09]they truly believe and they've completely internalized the idea that when you
[41:15]pray for the Imam they know that praying for the Imam brings
[41:23]relief to them but when they pray for him they don't care
[41:28]about themselves it's like they say I once met a taxi driver
[41:32]as soon as I sat down he said for the safety and
[41:38]the health of the Imam of the time recite allowance recites I
[41:55]looked at this mountain I said masha'allah I said what makes you
[42:04]establish this connection let me tell you something safe I have this
[42:09]old flunker of a car it's a terrible car he said I
[42:14]have this car and it's my means of sustenance I make my
[42:18]livelihood from this I have a wife who is good and righteous
[42:24]and religious I also have a son who's on the path of
[42:26]the internet I have everything I need now that's not something you
[42:34]often hear from poor people driver in some third world country he
[42:38]said I have everything I need I don't need anything else and
[42:42]so all I do is pray for the amount of time because
[42:45]he's the one who was buried then he said the other day
[42:54]we went to a shrine and my wife said to me ask
[42:58]the Imam for a better car this car that you drive look
[43:00]at it it's so old it's falling apart he said I told
[43:04]her ask for whatever you want I will pray for none other
[43:07]than the Imam himself he will look after me he will give
[43:14]me whatever he thinks is appropriate and good for me a point
[43:20]that's critical to be mentioned here brothers and sisters is that when
[43:23]we say let us establish a constant connection to the Imam we
[43:31]don't mean that you should abandon this world we don't mean that
[43:35]your Dunya is going to be in Ruins that's a Sufi outlook
[43:40]on life we reject that we don't accept that we subscribe to
[43:45]the religion foreign foreign as if you're going to live here forever
[43:58]and work for the afterlife as though you're going to die tomorrow
[44:02]we subscribe to the system of Imam who says he's not from
[44:14]us the one who abandons this world in favor of the afterlife
[44:20]you have to strike a balance so when we say establish a
[44:27]connection to the Imam of the time what we're actually saying is
[44:30]that when the Imam becomes the Arbiter and the axis of your
[44:36]life even your work in this Dunya becomes more serious and more
[44:41]meaningful you get purpose and direction to your actions in this world
[44:44]to your life in this world your life will suddenly turn from
[44:51]black and white to vibrant and Lively colors having the Imam in
[44:55]your lives means that this life will be one of virtue and
[44:59]morality and goodness and happiness as well as the next is not
[45:09]just in the afterlife but also in this world I mentioned this
[45:15]last night I said there are people who say sins I began
[45:21]praying for the Imam himself all of my hajjad all mys I
[45:23]keep them to the side I pray for the imams since I've
[45:28]begun doing this I've uh the the moment I did that on
[45:34]one of the nights of he said since then my life has
[45:36]been beautiful everything I touch turns to gold When you pray for
[45:44]the Iman he reciprocates and prays for you when he prays for
[45:49]you his prayer is accepted or not accepted Allah and so we're
[45:54]not saying that you should turn into monks and live in caves
[46:00]far from it we're saying that when you align yourself to the
[46:03]Imam of the time suddenly everything you do is going to have
[46:09]meaning and value because now you're alive and everything you do will
[46:15]be done in a manner that is serious and valuable and meaningful
[46:22]you combine this world with the next and that is the ultimate
[46:27]life so this is On A Night Like This the only way
[46:45]I can present myself to Allah and truly repent is to also
[46:52]go back to the Imam where's the evidence you should say the
[46:56]evidence is right there in the Quran as I said aligning with
[47:00]the Imam of the time means that your relationship with your wife
[47:05]will be better because you know the Imam is watching you know
[47:11]you're list of deeds will be presented to him twice a week
[47:15]you know that on a night like this everything will be shown
[47:19]to him and so what you say to your wife what you
[47:22]say to your husband how you raise your kids all these things
[47:26]will suddenly take a turn for the better because you you know
[47:31]that your mom is watching the way we pray in our homes
[47:37]is one way but imagine if you were praying in the presence
[47:40]of a senior manager you wouldn't pray the same would you not
[47:45]that you're acting in pomposity and showing off you're not practicing Rihanna
[47:50]you want to make sure that your Salah is done in a
[47:55]perfect manner so you pay closer attention that's what's happening and this
[48:01]is a good thing if I pray in a certain manner when
[48:06]I'm all alone when I know the Imam is watching me is
[48:10]my prayer of the same absolutely not and so everything begins to
[48:19]fall into place even our Tolbert you see previous religious Traditions the
[48:29]way they practice is the Father the way they sought forgiveness from
[48:34]Allah was through self-flagellation which means they would beat themselves they would
[48:39]cut themselves right this is how they did this and so in
[48:45]the time of the holy prophet some companions did the same thing
[48:50]for instance when the holy prophet wanted to negotiate with the Jewish
[48:59]tribe after the conquest of the holy prophet wanted to sign a
[49:07]treaty with them and the treaty was quite clear and had simple
[49:14]terms either you become Muslim or you pay the jizian which means
[49:20]that you are subjects of the Islamic government led by the holy
[49:23]messenger of Allah you pay a tax because obviously don't apply to
[49:29]you so you have to pay a special tax and you maintain
[49:35]the peace between your your community and the Muslims don't try to
[49:41]stab them in the back you don't try to create an alliance
[49:48]with our enemies you don't act with us in a treasonous manner
[49:51]you don't try to deviate the Muslims you live in peace and
[49:56]we will live with you the prophet sent one of his companions
[50:00]who used to be Jewish who converted to Islam he said he
[50:07]sent this man and said you go and present the terms to
[50:11]the Jews because they're your people when he went he entered their
[50:18]Temple that's where they had their discussions he says that I still
[50:21]as soon as I entered the temple I was reminded of my
[50:23]previous Life as a Jew and so maybe he panicked or he
[50:30]was being overzealous I don't know but what they sat down the
[50:35]Jews told him so what's this Prophet about what does he have
[50:40]to tell us he pointed to his neck meaning that unless you
[50:44]accept the terms the whole the terms the prophet will Slaughter you
[50:48]the prophet never told him to go and say that I will
[50:52]slaughter them unless they accept the terms there are other measures we
[50:55]can take other steps that come into place as soon as he
[51:01]walked out of course they accepted them when he walked out he
[51:06]felt remorseful he felt sorry he shouldn't have done this he should
[51:09]have delivered the prophet's message verbatim what did he do to repent
[51:14]he wanted to message it and he tied himself to one of
[51:16]the columns in the Masjid and said I will not leave this
[51:21]place until Allah forgives me self-flagellation this is something that was commonly
[51:25]practiced after everything had ended the negotiations the dust had settled they
[51:32]asked where is they said to the holy prophet that he is
[51:37]tied to himself to one of the columns in your Masjid and
[51:38]he says I won't leave matild Allah forgives me the holy Prophets
[51:45]foreign why go there and tie yourself to a column come to
[51:56]me Allah shows you that seeking forgiveness On A Night Like This
[52:06]Means connecting to the hotel Allah says when they oppressed themselves meaning
[52:16]they commit sins if they came to you and sought forgiveness from
[52:23]Allah when the prophet asks your forgiveness they would surely find that
[52:32]Allah is all forgiving and merciful foreign they came to their father
[52:41]the children of Yahoo why not just repent to Allah why not
[52:45]just go do and ask Allah for forgiveness why not do a
[52:51]ziara no they came to their father to the footage of Allah
[52:54]of their time they said we want you to seek forgiveness for
[53:00]us we have been oppressed we have wronged ourselves we have committed
[53:06]a graveston stealth and he said to them that I will ask
[53:08]Allah for forgiveness for you don't worry October means you should connect
[53:16]to the Imam your relationships you have to connect to the Imam
[53:21]your actions all have to be aligned with the enrollment so tonight
[53:24]we have no other way but to connect with Vietnam he is
[53:31]after all our father when you connect with him you establish a
[53:39]love in your heart that crosses every boundary that becomes indescribable indescribable
[53:50]absolute obedience that is coupled with pure pleasure of serving the Imam
[54:00]serving the Allah he came to the hunger of God in his
[54:07]time he said to him even though they were brothers he never
[54:18]called him my brother until the very last moment because he knew
[54:23]about what he was saying love to hear this morning but throughout
[54:27]his life his mother um had taught him to stand with respect
[54:34]in front of their brother Hussain he came to him I feel
[54:42]this pressure on my chest I can't take it anymore would you
[54:47]give me permission to go and fight the Imam said to him
[54:51]if you go my entire Army will collapse remember was the last
[54:59]of the adults to be killed which means on his own he
[55:04]was the entire Army of Jose if you must go foreign [Music]
[55:44]fetching water for the children is something that the most menial and
[55:49]lowest ranting Soldier would do but the Imam of this time is
[55:55]saying go get water he says nothing absolutely whatever you say he
[56:03]headed towards the water the arrows began to shower in his Direction
[56:08]the poet says he's not afraid of the arrows absolutely not why
[56:19]because his objective is to bring back water for the children for
[56:26]that that's a thing could come in his way it wouldn't obstruct
[56:31]his path it wouldn't stop him when you align yourself to the
[56:35]job of Allah this happened he's an elderly man he's a slave
[56:42]he comes to about he says to him can I go and
[56:48]fight the Imam said to him you came to us so that
[56:54]we would keep you in our company so that you would be
[57:00]with us now is not the time for you to do this
[57:02]we're all going to get killed they're going to kill me he
[57:06]said to him when you are comfortable I come and I lick
[57:15]your plates for Baraka and you want me to abandon you in
[57:23]your hour of need no energy he was an iron Smith he
[57:32]used to fix the swords and so there was this odor and
[57:35]this smell that he always had said I know I'm not worthy
[57:43]I know that my skin is black How Could my blood be
[57:47]mixed with your blood let me go yeah I know they're going
[57:53]to kill you I don't want to know what they do to
[57:57]you I don't want to see that moment let me go and
[57:58]fight for you what he goes into battle other companions they used
[58:05]to introduce themselves they would say I am bringing my sword ashafi
[58:13]this that they will introduce their tribes but this man doesn't introduce
[58:19]himself by his name or his parents or his tribe all he
[58:22]says is foreign members of the audience you should memorize these verses
[58:35]so that when you're in your grave and the angels come and
[58:39]question you Allah your response should be don't worry about who I
[58:48]am immediately my masters was here he went and fought until he
[59:10]until he fell to the ground as he was breathing in his
[59:13]last verse look at how the hajja of Allah repays you for
[59:19]your loyalty and your actions in his service is about to die
[59:22]he knows he's all alone suddenly he feels a warmth on his
[59:28]cheek he opens his eye he's look at me everyone who hey
[59:43]it's about the ultimate Victory and happiness this is what happens when
[59:56]you connect to your Imam look at the love and how it
[59:58]drives you two brothers came to Emmanuel Muslim history doesn't even mention
[60:04]their names all we know is that they were from the tribe
[60:09]of bad but not their first names they came to the Imam
[60:14]they asked him for permission to go fight then they said to
[60:17]the Imam could we go together as two brothers the Imam said
[60:20]yes may Allah bless you then they said yeah they cried people
[60:25]said why are you crying you're going to meet my grandfather rasulullah
[60:30]it'll be a few moments they said we're crying because when we
[60:39]go and die what's going to happen to your attention foreign foreign
[60:54][Music] he would scream in agony in his name one day you've
[61:38]told us to stay quiet and to not do something that would
[61:43]violate to me yeah why why do you cry like this said
[61:47]that I never saw what they did to my beloved father [Music]
[61:58]there was a change wrapped around the neck of your mama [Music]
[62:05]I never saw what they did to her but when I took
[62:11]her and I was washing her she told me to bathe her
[62:16]with her clothes on another one I need to see the marks
[62:23]as I was washing her I touched one of her ribs and
[62:26]I know it's better what's broken are you off work with myself
[62:32][Applause] We're Alone and yet and yet on the death of judgment
[62:40]I mentioned this for a reason because on the day of judgment
[62:45]when the call is made lower your hands close your eyes not
[63:04]because no one has the capacity to see the Grandeur of father
[63:17]begin to cry does she speak about what they did to her
[63:23]between the wall and the door no she does not does she
[63:27]meant her unborn feet is she does not what she does makes
[63:35]everyone cry on the day of judgment she lifts up a shirt
[63:41]that was filled with blood she blazes it on her head she
[63:48]says hello I wish to see my son Jose in a direction
[64:03]as soon as she looks she sees a mirage it's not very
[64:11]clear but one thing is clear that person has no Head Ultimate
[64:18]screens [Applause] Luke [Music] what they prevented you from drinking water
