[0:01][Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] foreign dear brothers and sisters illuminate your
[0:48]hearts and minds mohammed here in the west you hear the phrase
[1:03]often live life to the fullest now what does that mean exactly
[1:11]living life to the fullest how do you live a full life
[1:15]according to their definition living a full life means having as much
[1:23]fun as you can getting married enjoying the pleasures of life and
[1:30]then dying right you could have maybe a meaningful occupation or career
[1:37]start a family but really at the gist of it it's deriving
[1:43]as much pleasure as you can from life while avoiding as much
[1:46]pain as possible that's the definition of life and death is oh
[1:55]something scary right you don't want to mention death death in the
[2:00]material perspective something that you even want to hear about death is
[2:05]the cessation of life right that's how many see it and so
[2:10]the cessation of life means no more opportunity for pleasure i don't
[2:12]want that now if you look to the holy quran the book
[2:17]of allah what's the quranic perspective on life and death what's the
[2:24]quranic perspective on life and what you should extract from life says
[2:31]in the holy quran [Music] that life this life as we know
[2:44]it and experience it is nothing except games and play it's nothing
[2:48]except for pleasure and what is the true abode what is the
[2:54]true life allah continues in the verse as if only people knew
[3:06]that the true abode the eternal abode is not here it's in
[3:13]the afterlife that is where you spend in eternity and that is
[3:16]the true life here my dear brothers and sisters we're just passing
[3:19]on a bridge to get to the next destination which is the
[3:25]achra the afterlife now imagine you're crossing a bridge right let's say
[3:29]you're trying to get from the united states to canada so you're
[3:32]coming through detroit i'm from detroit you pass through the ambassador bridge
[3:36]so you go to the customs right they stamp your passport you're
[3:42]crossing the bridge it's a beautiful bridge it's located on top of
[3:45]the river you can see windsor i believe you could see detroit
[3:48]downtown so imagine you just take a detour you stop on the
[3:53]side of the bridge you get out of the car you just
[3:54]start looking at the view now that's fine if you just do
[3:59]it for a couple of minutes but imagine you say wow this
[4:02]is really nice you get out the tent and you start setting
[4:05]up the tent and you want to spend the night there doesn't
[4:08]make much sense first of all you're probably going to get a
[4:14]ticket from the police for impeding traffic secondly you forgot the purpose
[4:18]of why you're crossing this bridge yes enjoy the views while you're
[4:22]there while you're crossing have fun but ultimately the point of the
[4:28]bridge is what to cross and reach the next destination likewise there
[4:33]is meaning to life and allah wants us to invest in this
[4:36]life we don't want to be one of those ascetic people we
[4:40]go live in the mountains live in desert no allah says enjoy
[4:44]the pleasures of this life enjoy life there's nothing wrong with that
[4:49]but remember that ultimately this is a place an arena where as
[4:56]much as you invest you reap the benefits in the akhirah the
[5:00]benefits are not reaped here you sow the seeds and you reap
[5:04]the benefits inside the afterlife so likewise as you're crossing the ambassador
[5:12]bridge you arrive to the canadian side what is the officer going
[5:15]to ask you for your passport and he sees if you filled
[5:19]out the arrive canada application right if you haven't done that then
[5:22]bye bye you go back and you have to fill it out
[5:24]and come back three days later likewise when we cross the bridge
[5:32]of life to the achara who is the officer waiting for us
[5:36]before imam ali imam ali for the minion will be waiting upon
[5:39]your grave but before we get to that state we have the
[5:43]angel of death he is the officer who stamps your passport and
[5:48]likewise when you get to canada they see your arrived canada application
[5:51]what does see all that you take with you is your amal
[5:55]your hasanat and your say at everything that you have done in
[5:59]your life that's all that you take with you none of your
[6:01]possessions none of your belongings that's all that goes and so we
[6:09]must always remember that we are to invest in this life as
[6:11]much as we can so that we can see the benefits and
[6:15]the reap the benefits in the achra and take them with us
[6:19]because that's all that we are able to take now you can
[6:22]find in the life of abba abdullah imam al-hussein a walking example
[6:28]of the quranic application of what it means to truly live life
[6:34]and what it means to consider death for a believer death is
[6:39]not the end death is simply as we've mentioned a bridge to
[6:43]a another destination now if you have more evil deeds than good
[6:48]the destination is not looking so good it's looking a bit hot
[6:52]but if you have compiled many of your good deeds righteous action
[6:57]throughout your life a heavenly abode is waiting for you in the
[7:01]afterlife and you can find this lesson epitomized in the life of
[7:15]imam al-hussein now some ignorant people they pose the question they say
[7:20]abdullah he must have definitely not known that after leaving medina and
[7:28]going to on his way to kufa stopping at karbala he must
[7:31]have not known that he was going to die that he was
[7:34]going to be martyred otherwise he wouldn't have done it some people
[7:37]very ignorant people they say abdullah his intention was he wanted power
[7:42]he wanted worldly desires and had he known he was going to
[7:47]be martyred he definitely would have stopped his trip and his journey
[7:50]this is a weak and ignorant argument and we can demonstrate through
[7:55]many pieces of evidence that in fact imam al-hussein know exactly what
[8:00]he's doing he knew exactly the mission he was embarking on and
[8:03]he knew that it was going to lead into martyrdom how tonight
[8:06]we will discuss four of these the first is that when abba
[8:11]abdullah was in medina ready to depart on to the next destination
[8:15]going onward to kufa the night before his departure he went and
[8:21]visited the grave of his grandfather rasulullah now as he was visiting
[8:28]he lied down and took a short nap inside that sleep he
[8:34]saw rasulullah come to him now they hug inside that dream and
[8:40]imam hussain tells his grandfather he expresses to him o rasulullah my
[8:43]grandfather i've missed you i would rather right now leave this dunya
[8:48]and join you right now in the what does rasulullah respond to
[8:53]him he says hussain my dear grandson hussain i am longing for
[9:02]you too however allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala has placed for you a position
[9:06]so high near me that can only be attained through martyrdom through
[9:13]shahada so inside this dream rasulullah explicitly tells imam and hussain that
[9:16]you will be martyred so as he leaves madinah onward to kufa
[9:21]imam hussain know exactly what was going to happen yet he knew
[9:25]that this was his mission entrusted to him from allah so to
[9:30]think and to claim that imam hussain he went to kufa he
[9:32]wanted power he wanted to rule over the muslim lands all for
[9:37]world league name that is a ridiculous argument because imam hashem knew
[9:39]exactly what he was doing secondly you find in muslid ahmed which
[9:45]is a sunni source there is a hadith in which um peace
[9:50]be upon her she comes she finds rasool allah crying crying in
[9:54]his room so she asks him oh rasulullah what's the issue something
[9:58]wrong why are you crying rasulullah responds to um that just now
[10:04]jibra il peace be upon him descended upon me when jibril descended
[10:10]he asked me oh rasulullah do you love your grandson hussain hussain
[10:14]was a very young boy at the time do you love your
[10:17]grandson hussein this is the same hussain that's when he would hug
[10:20]the neck of rasulullah in sujood in congregational prayer rasulullah would not
[10:24]rise until he would leave he says of course his blood is
[10:30]my blood and my blood is his blood of course i love
[10:33]him tells him do you know what your ummah will do to
[10:38]him do you know what your people will do to hussein and
[10:41]he says let me show you the land in which he will
[10:46]die and jibril takes rasulullah to the area of karbala and the
[10:50]land in which imam al-hussein becomes a martyr and after coming back
[10:55]that is why rasulallah began to cry a third argument and piece
[11:03]of evidence is that once when imam al-hasan and imam hashem peace
[11:06]be upon them were young they came with their mother lady father
[11:10]to the house of rasulullah when rasulullah saw them he hugged imam
[11:17]al-hasan and he kissed him on his lips which was customary at
[11:23]the time he looked at imam hussain and he kissed him on
[11:27]the neck so hussain was a little taken aback why did he
[11:30]kiss my brother on the lips but he kissed me on my
[11:34]neck so he went crying to his mother lady fatima and he
[11:36]explained to her the situation so when lady fatima came to rasulullah
[11:41]she asked him rasulullah oh father hussain is saying that you kissed
[11:45]my son hassan on the lips but you kissed hussein on the
[11:48]neck why why is that i know you love them both dearly
[11:54]and equally so why is that the tears started coming down from
[11:58]the eyes of rasulullah onto his cheeks his beloved cheeks and his
[12:01]beard he said o fatima my daughter the reason i kissed imam
[12:04]al-hasan on his lips was because that is the area in which
[12:09]he will be poisoned and the reason i kissed imam hussain on
[12:11]his neck is that that is the area where the sword will
[12:16]hit so even from the days of rasulullah it was known that
[12:22]the tragedy was going to befall upon abba abdullah and in fact
[12:28]what's clearer than this example while he was in mecca this is
[12:36]before his departure towards kufa he went inside masjid al-haram in front
[12:39]of the ka'ba he gave a fiery speech to the people what
[12:44]was inside that speech before that i love salawat look at the
[12:55]beautiful words of abba abdullah he speaks regarding death how does abba
[13:00]abdullah see death is he afraid of death does it bring him
[13:07]anxiety does he welcome death let's find out imam al-hussein says he
[13:19]says death to the sons of adam is like a necklace around
[13:22]the neck of a young girl wherever you try to go it
[13:27]surrounds you there's no escape no matter how much money you spend
[13:30]even if you have the best doctors you spend on the best
[13:35]healthcare doesn't matter death is chasing all of us he says and
[13:46]i yearn for death i yearn for death the same amount that
[13:49]ya'akov yearned for his son yusuf yakub who cried 40 years for
[13:55]the loss of his son yusuf imam hussain says that's how much
[14:00]i yearn death now you think a man like this fears death
[14:02]someone who speaks in such a manner regarding the topic of that
[14:07]he fears death he says i yearn for death now why is
[14:10]imam hussain saying i yearn for death the region he is going
[14:33]to be murdered he says by karbala so the imam when he
[14:38]departed from mecca knew exactly the fates that he was going to
[14:43]encounter so this completely invalidates the argument that the imam was after
[14:47]power he was after worldly desires the imam had a heavenly mission
[14:56]which was wha what al islam he wanted to fix the nation
[15:01]of his grandfather and you find the imam and many instances and
[15:12]many khatab sermons a hadith he would mention death and ask his
[15:16]followers and shiatsu remind themselves of death why because when you remind
[15:21]yourself of death you'll remember what the true purpose of this life
[15:27]is you don't get distracted by the jewels and the gold you
[15:30]don't get distracted by the temptations of this world you remember why
[15:34]you are here rasulullah has a beautiful hadith in which he says
[15:42]he says increase your remembrance that which destroys pleasures now what is
[15:49]that rasulullah continues increase your remembrance of death now a question here
[15:58]why is death called the destroyer of pleasures well one reason is
[16:04]that after death you do not enjoy from the worldly temptations of
[16:09]this life but another reason is that dear brothers and sisters may
[16:14]allah increase all of your lives but if you attend someone's funeral
[16:19]and especially after a couple days if the person hasn't been buried
[16:23]when you see the state of the skin of that individual and
[16:29]its decomposition when you see the way the eyes fall out onto
[16:33]the cheeks once you look at that you can enjoy life the
[16:36]same way why because you know in a very short time whether
[16:41]that's tomorrow next year in 10 years and 50 years that's going
[16:46]to be me i'm going to be in that same state there's
[16:53]no escape that's why rasulullah calls that allah says we are so
[17:06]busy with the desires of this life whether it's children money prestige
[17:11]honor until we go to the graveyard once we see that all
[17:17]these people they were just like me they had ambitions they had
[17:21]families they wanted to enjoy life as much as they can but
[17:24]where did they end up six feet under and soon that plot
[17:31]empty plot that's going to be mine if you find yourself distracted
[17:36]by the pleasures of this world just remind yourself of death there's
[17:39]a beautiful story between two companions of rasulullah amar and salman al-muhammadi
[17:46]one day they made up and they were trying to you know
[17:51]outdo one another amar as-salman do you remember death salman said of
[17:59]course always amar says i am so confident in my life and
[18:03]my belief that every night when i go to sleep i don't
[18:06]have yakkin that that morning i will wake up allah subhanahu ta'ala
[18:12]has entrusted us with this amanah from god at any minute he
[18:20]can take back that trust so he says when i go to
[18:23]sleep i have no confidence that i will wake up in the
[18:25]morning subhanallah look these are the companions of rasulullah what does salman
[18:32]respond to that salman says you have too much hope in this
[18:41]dunya he says amar when i take a breath i am not
[18:44]confident allah will give me another allah do i know for sure
[18:50]that this next breath won't be my last allah can take his
[18:55]trust whenever he likes so remember that's always this breath might be
[19:01]my last what am i doing with my life when i wake
[19:03]up tomorrow will i wake up or will i wake up another
[19:10]dimension in an unfamiliar place so always always remember death some people
[19:17]it's a little funny they are under the misconception that if i
[19:21]remember death too much you know it's almost like i'll be manifesting
[19:24]death right death will come somehow come near me or if i
[19:28]remember death too much i might die one day i remember once
[19:32]someone took an appointment with my father my respected father and he
[19:37]was trying to get from my father lessons on going to the
[19:40]hajj you know he was about to go to hajj he wanted
[19:42]some tips some advice so my father said by the way did
[19:47]you write your will one of the prerequisites of going to hajj
[19:50]and may subhana allah grant all of us the tawfiq of going
[19:55]to hajj did you write your will so the man says no
[19:59]why do i have to write my mill am i going to
[20:03]die my father said no inshallah you live a long life but
[20:07]one of the prerequisites of hajj is that you write a will
[20:09]just in case something happens right and besides even if you don't
[20:13]go to hajj are you confident you're going to wake up tomorrow
[20:15]as we just discussed no so he was very afraid he thought
[20:20]writing his will meant that he would die sooner in fact we
[20:23]have a hadith that remembering death and in particular purchasing your own
[20:27]kefin increases your life the hadith says if you want to prolong
[20:32]your life purchase your caffeine now and every time you open the
[20:38]drawer right to wear that nice suit right that very dapper suit
[20:42]you see in the corner of the drawer that kevin that reminds
[20:44]you that today whatever i wear with the suit whatever i wear
[20:49]with this dress i need to make it worthwhile is what i'm
[20:52]going to do going to be a good investment for my akhra
[20:55]or a very bad investment always keep that on the top of
[21:02]your mind but the problem is many of us haven't written our
[21:05]wills we haven't purchased our kefin dear brothers and sisters if you
[21:09]don't do it now you're not solving the issue all you're doing
[21:12]is you're delaying the issue if you don't purchase your caffeine all
[21:16]that's going to happen is someone else is going to purchase one
[21:21]for you if you don't buy a plot of land right now
[21:23]for your grave all that's going to happen is someone else will
[21:26]buy it for you and if you don't write your will all
[21:29]you're going to do is cause chaos and confusion for your descendants
[21:34]do this now while you're still alive go and find a plot
[21:38]of land go and purchase it right write your will if you
[21:45]have any prayers that need to be made up try to make
[21:48]it up and also write it down just in case if you
[21:51]have any facts that need to be made up you have any
[21:53]dues with allah write that down and if you haven't purchased your
[22:00]kefin go ahead and do so allah subhanahu ta'ala says every human
[22:07]being will taste death and allah subhanahu ta'ala may bring that flavor
[22:12]of death any moment he decides once the prophet of allah sulaiman
[22:17]was on the rooftop of his mansion he was overlooking his servants
[22:24]and the quran says his servants were made of who human engine
[22:28]they were carrying construction material constructing his palace and he was overlooking
[22:35]his vast palace and kingdom the quran says we brought a kingdom
[22:38]that we will never bring to anyone after salah some modern estimates
[22:43]state that the wealth of the kingdom of prophet sulaiman exceeded 44
[22:48]trillion dollars try to wrap your head around that the gdp of
[22:53]the united states right the largest economy in the world is what
[22:55]around 22 trillion the wealth and this is what 2000 years ago
[23:01]3000 years ago the wealth of the kingdom of sulaiman was 44
[23:04]trillion dollars according to some estimates so as he's looking at his
[23:10]vast kingdom in his palace who comes to him descends from the
[23:16]skies the angel of death he comes and he says o sulaiman
[23:20]your time is up so sulaiman says oh angel of death but
[23:25]my palace isn't done but the problem is death doesn't wait if
[23:29]your palace is done if it's not done death does not discriminate
[23:34]young old so the angel of death israel says no allah subhanahu
[23:41]ta'ala has commanded me that i take your soul now so says
[23:46]okay well if i can't wait until the construction of the palace
[23:50]is done well at least let me go lie down in my
[23:51]bed he says no so sulaiman was standing and he was leaning
[23:59]on a stick he says all right well if that's not allowed
[24:03]at least let me sit down let me lie down so that
[24:06]when you take my soul i'll just be lying down he says
[24:08]no when the ejal of allah comes it must be done immediately
[24:13]and i waste no time so him standing and leaning on the
[24:17]stick and this is a prophet of allah with a high stature
[24:22]in the eyes of allah such that his servants saw him standing
[24:25]and overlooking the palace they didn't know that he was dead so
[24:29]for days and days they were still working constructing his palace but
[24:33]what's the point he's dead now can you enjoy your palace and
[24:38]your money and your cars when you're dead i don't think so
[24:42]until allah sent termites they bit the end of his stick and
[24:48]he fell down and that's when they realized that sulaiman was dead
[24:52]now there's one interesting incident in sahih al-bukhari this may be the
[24:57]only time in which the agile of allah was delayed and you
[25:01]be the judge once the hadith the same angel of death as
[25:09]came down upon the prophet moses peace be upon him according to
[25:15]this hadith it says moses asked him what are you here for
[25:20]well the angel of death says what else am i here for
[25:23]i'm here for you your time is up the hadith says moses
[25:27]got so angry he punched him in the eye such that his
[25:30]eye fell out now what kind of punch is that mashallah a
[25:33]lot of force and torque behind that so he punched him so
[25:36]hard his eyes fell out now i guess this was his first
[25:40]time encountering something like this so he went back up to allah
[25:43]he started complaining what is this this is this is a prophet
[25:45]of yours i went according to your order to extract the soul
[25:48]he punched me so allah he restored the eye of israel and
[25:53]he says okay now go i've talked to him you know he's
[25:58]calmer now go and take his soul no this is a hadith
[25:59]we'll leave it up to that but that's it for everyone else
[26:13]once you see israel coming that's the end now what can we
[26:19]glean from the quran from the hadith those who have passed away
[26:23]what's their regret those who have passed away and crossed that bridge
[26:27]into the afterlife what is their regret if they had a chance
[26:30]one day to come back to this life what would they ask
[26:36]for would they want to test out their their car one last
[26:38]time for a last ride would they want to visit their house
[26:44]one last time go walk on the beach what does the quran
[26:50]say those who have passed away they have one request oh allah
[27:00]bring me back so that i may do one good deed one
[27:05]act of righteousness because on that day on that fearful day of
[27:08]the day of judgment every single deed and every single act counts
[27:14]so my dear brothers and sisters and i remind myself first allah
[27:19]ta'ala last night in your sleep could have taken back his this
[27:23]morning allah subhanahu ta'ala granted you new life what are you going
[27:28]to do with that second chance allah gave you think of all
[27:32]the chances allah has given you in your life tomorrow when you
[27:37]wake up what are you going to dedicate that day towards pursuing
[27:41]the desires and temptations of this life or investing in this life
[27:47]so that you may reap the rewards in the achra if you
[27:51]invest in this life according to the principles of allah then i
[27:56]guarantee you in the ahra you will be happy and content that
[27:58]is my personal guarantee thus you find on the night of ashura
[28:06]the companions they're inside the tents you'd imagine if you walk in
[28:11]this is the night of ashura the imam has already warned them
[28:13]of what's to come you think that there'd be an environment of
[28:18]dread of anxiety it would be so tense but if you open
[28:22]the door to the tent you would find the companions on the
[28:25]night of ashura laughing they were joking they were bantering they were
[28:31]happy why because they knew tomorrow was not the end tomorrow they
[28:35]would simply cross the bridge towards all that allah would provide for
[28:40]them in the achra thus when imam al-hussein asked his nephew al-qasim
[28:46]he said how do you view death my nephew ke fatar al-moat
[28:50]how did this young boy this young child respond was he fearful
[28:55]was he anxious oh uncle death for your sake is sweeter than
[29:08]honey what kind of iman and belief did these men and this
[29:12]teenager have such that death is sweeter than honey how could they
[29:20]see death in such a way that it is sweeter than honey
[29:24]the taste for the companions of abba abdullah was like honey if
[29:33]anything for the believers for the shia of albeit death itself should
[29:37]not be fearful you know that it's only crossing the bridge to
[29:40]the next stage there is however for the believers for the followers
[29:45]of one stage we should fear that's what's after death some ahadith
[29:49]we gather from the islamic texts that there could be up to
[29:54]50 stages after death from hovering on to around your body to
[29:59]being by your grave to entering the grave there's between these stages
[30:04]50 stages but the worst stage of them all is known as
[30:10]ada the torture of the grave we gather we glean from the
[30:16]islamic texts that a true believer a true pious believer and follower
[30:22]of the albeit will not touch hellfire may allah save us from
[30:26]that however even if you have righteous action and you had firm
[30:31]belief each one of us we have some shortcomings here and there
[30:33]we slip the lie once maybe we saw you know five dollars
[30:37]on the street we picked it up and then i put it
[30:40]in the sadaqa box we have shortcomings here and there how does
[30:43]allah purify us such that we are ready and worthy to enter
[30:48]jannah through adam is what the believer should be fearful of to
[30:55]the extent that imam zain al-abidin peace be upon him and says
[31:00]when i remember i cried what is this the imam says when
[31:08]i remember i cry what goes on in there the imam explains
[31:16]in this beautiful the imam says me [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] day
[32:11]questions that said how are we able to best prepare for death
[32:31]or death such that when the inevitable day arrives we will know
[32:35]what to do and we will not have it not heaven dear
[32:39]brothers this year the make it a weekly schedule to go visit
[32:49]your beloved ones that have passed away the hadith says jummah friday
[32:55]is a recommended day to go it also says it's not recommended
[32:58]macro to visit at night go during the day on friday or
[33:03]any other day and visit your loved ones recite for them a
[33:05]fatah not only will they benefit you will benefit by the virtue
[33:10]of remembering that this is where you will also end up you
[33:13]will be following them soon second i highly implore all of you
[33:19]to learn how to wash bodies if you're able to take a
[33:24]course or learn from someone who's experienced unlearned how to wash dead
[33:28]bodies because when you tilt that body and wash that lifeless body
[33:32]you will remember that one day your body will be in the
[33:39]hands of someone doing the same third ask your friends your family
[33:47]members for forgiveness tonight make a vow that tomorrow and the following
[33:52]days the preceding days you will ask your family and f and
[33:57]your friends for forgiveness from any wrong doing from any shortcomings on
[34:01]your behalf for you will need that forgiveness on the day of
[34:07]judgment fourth my dear brothers and sisters if your parents are still
[34:14]alive i highly implore that you go and you ask them to
[34:17]pray for you because we glean from the ahadith that the duat
[34:22]the dua of parents and especially the mother is unparalleled in its
[34:30]efficacy the dua of the mother will do you wonders so tonight
[34:34]tomorrow if your parents are still alive and especially your mother go
[34:38]and visit them and ask them to pray for you fifth tonight
[34:44]during the imageless look towards the sky and ask allah from the
[34:51]depths of your heart to forgive you to forgive you of all
[34:55]your sins 6 if you have family members or friends that have
[35:05]wronged you find it in your heart to forgive them because the
[35:09]hadith says if you want the mercy of allah subhanahu ta'ala to
[35:12]reach you you need to also forgive others if you want allah
[35:17]to forgive you find it in your heart to forgive others the
[35:19]albeit say we don't like our followers to be ones who hold
[35:22]grudges who cause problems with others so try to make amends with
[35:27]your family members with your friends and forgive them for their shortcomings
[35:31]and seventh and lastly if you have not written your will yet
[35:35]make it a point to write your will the last point inshallah
[35:44]i will discuss is that after you die that's it the door
[35:46]has been sealed shut you're not able to contribute to your 401k
[35:52]to your mizan al-hasanat your scale of good deeds however we have
[35:57]a hadith from the albeit there are three things you are able
[36:02]to do such that after your death you are able to earn
[36:05]passive income you are able to earn edger and rewards for what
[36:13]you do but before that i love salawat the hadith says the
[36:22]first is beneficial knowledge that you teach others whether to be physically
[36:27]having a class and teaching others writing a book writing a pamphlet
[36:33]in this digital age it could be creating a youtube video exploring
[36:36]some hadith or a quranic verse an instagram post or maybe for
[36:40]those youth out there if they're active on tik tok try to
[36:44]reduce some of the other elements that you see and maybe start
[36:47]posting a little bit about the bait about the quran about some
[36:53]islamic lesson that's number one what's number two is continuous how so
[37:03]if you participate in the building of say a masjid a husseini
[37:08]like this if you donate if you build an orphanage if you
[37:12]build something that continues to benefit people after your demise and third
[37:17]wa if you have good children and descendants who pray for you
[37:22]so these three teaching knowledge continuous charity and good descendants and children
[37:32]who pray for you otherwise after death the door has been sealed
[37:36]shut and trust me after 20 50 100 years maximum not only
[37:39]will you be dead your name will be dead as well no
[37:43]one will remember you try to think yourselves your great great great
[37:46]grandfather or mother do you even know their names do you know
[37:50]a single fact about their lives most would probably say no but
[37:55]through these actions you're able to gain ajir and roared otherwise the
[38:00]door has been sealed shut and your name and legacy will end
[38:05]however dear brothers and sisters there was one figure in history who
[38:09]to this day his name lives and stands one person whose death
[38:15]has impacted millions and in fact is the reason why we are
[38:18]gathering today there is not a single continent in which the name
[38:25]of abba abdullah is not mentioned and dear brothers and sisters let
[38:30]me share with you a fact you are here attending this medjlist
[38:33]you are in fact reviving the legacy of imam zainul abedin imam
[38:39]zainul abedin imam sajad was the first to institute the majalis he
[38:45]would gather his family members his close relatives his close companions he
[38:49]would in fact pay someone to come a poet and lament the
[38:55]martyrdom of abba so you being here you are continuing the legacy
[38:59]and tradition of imam zainul abedin by attending the majalis of abba
[39:03]abdullah and by remembering his name his blessed name however attending these
[39:13]majalis and remembering the name of abba abdullah was not easy upon
[39:18]the heart of our beloved imam imam zainul abedin the hadith state
[39:23]for years and years after the incident of ashura imam zain al-abidin
[39:26]would weep such that he would mix his food and water with
[39:31]his tears he would weep so much such that one day a
[39:34]companion a close companion of imam abedin came and he said o
[39:40]imam isn't it enough haven't you cried enough you the albeit you
[39:45]are no strangers to martyrdom why are you crying so much the
[39:47]imam looked at him he said yes you are right but look
[39:52]at the story of yakub yakub he was separated from his son
[39:56]yusuf for 40 years and he knew he was alive and yet
[40:00]he cried for 40 years until he went blind you want me
[40:06]to stop crying when i saw my father another companion came and
[40:12]he saw imam zayn abbadini crying he said imam martin is no
[40:15]stranger for you why do you cry so much says yes you
[40:20]are right we the albeit are no strangers to martyrdom but have
[40:24]we the family of rasulullah have ever experienced syrians where our women
[40:30]are changed our women are taken care of his first of all
[41:02]you have other wealth for your house if you want i'm not
[41:17]crying because of my because my mom will compensate [Music] after they
[41:47]had set fire to those tents those evil enemies set fires to
[41:53]those ladies what is your order what should we do usually their
[41:59]brothers their brothers every king every queen on the day foreign me
[42:49][Music]
