[0:33]Everyone, I am pleased to pass out my amazing students.
[0:40]and some awards.
[0:44]But before I begin, we have a very special student who worked
[0:48]extra hard to join our class.
[0:51]He actually worked throughout the school year to learn new skills so
[0:55]he could be in sister Malak's class.
[1:01]So getting the great growth award, I present seed Ali Kazwini.
[1:12]My next student has the ability to change and adapt to everything
[1:20]we throw at him.
[1:20]Even though in the beginning it was very intimidating, but he has
[1:24]accomplished so much.
[1:28]So for always being adaptable, I present Nasser Alier.
[1:37]We have another student who always shows tremendous integrity.
[1:44]Even if something goes wrong, if you ask this student, did you
[1:49]do something wrong?
[1:51]He always admits that he did and he takes responsibility.
[1:53]And it's honestly a skill that's very difficult in this age.
[2:00]So for impressive integrity, Muhammad Ali Hoi.
[2:07]Now sometimes our classroom can be a little bit crazy, right?
[2:13]This age is sometimes o and sister Mak is sometimes just needing
[2:17]a good laugh.
[2:19]And I have one student who always makes us smile.
[2:21]So for class comedian, I got Ali Jad Jaser.
[2:29]And again, there are those mornings where I'm just pulling myself up,
[2:35]the coffeey's not kicked in, but when I see him get out
[2:39]of the car, he always makes me smile.
[2:40]So for always smiling.
[2:43]Hi DH.
[2:49]Where's he?
[2:56]Now we sometimes in the beginning were blending this beautiful kindergarten and
[3:01]first grade classroom.
[3:03]Students that were familiar and students that weren't.
[3:05]And I had one student that was always willing to be with
[3:11]that other student who felt a little left out.
[3:14]And it really made me realize how thoughtful she was.
[3:18]So for being the most thoughtful of our class, Sukoi.
[3:27]Now last year I had this amazing student and he informed me
[3:32]that he was going to be a house painter.
[3:35]But this year he comes in and he decided he wants to
[3:40]be a leader.
[3:42]He wants to teach people Islam.
[3:43]So for our future teacher I have say Muhammad Raa al- Kazwini.
[3:55]Go.
[4:00]Good.
[4:03]Um, I have another student that is always doing extra, always wanting
[4:11]to put in that extra work.
[4:14]So, for going the extra mile, Hussein Ali.
[4:21]Now, as you can imagine, having two grades, there were always students
[4:27]that were ready to move on and others that needed a little
[4:30]bit of help.
[4:32]So, this next student was always the one to help out anyone
[4:35]in need.
[4:37]So with the helping hand award, Hadi Abu Ahmed, my next student
[4:48]lit up the room every single day when she walked in.
[4:55]I mean, you just felt that glow.
[4:56]So for our ray of sunshine, you are right, Jenna Kaboot.
[5:05]for being a friend to everyone, no matter if they knew them
[5:12]or not.
[5:13]just that friend being the fabulous friend that he is.
[5:17]Abbas al-Haj the next one is kind of that diplomat that just
[5:33]pulled everyone together and made us really a team.
[5:38]So being a good citizen, Muhammad Alawadi, Zah did not show.
[5:48]So the next one is not.
[5:51]Now sometimes things got difficult in our classroom and I don't help.
[5:57]If kids want help with something, no way.
[5:58]Figure it out.
[6:00]Find a friend.
[6:02]And so I had one child that was willing to figure out
[6:04]anything we throw at him.
[6:10]So for being our problem solver, Musa Aka the next one.
[6:24]She's not here for the next one.
[6:27]In the beginning, this child struggled with all of these new people
[6:32]and all of these new friends and wasn't sure whether or not
[6:36]this was a place for him.
[6:37]But he toughed it out.
[6:41]He was willing to come even when it was scary.
[6:42]And it taught all of us that being brave and bold was
[6:47]very important.
[6:49]So, of course, the bold and brave award, Ibrahim Haruni.
[6:59]The next student was kind of like the class mom.
[7:03]Always prepared, always making sure everyone else was prepared, everyone had what
[7:08]they need, willing to run to the office with the attendance.
[7:11]Let me grab this for you.
[7:16]You are right.
[7:14]So for being always prepared, Maya Yeah.
[7:27]So, last but certainly not least, what did we get from this
[7:36]child sometimes was very difficult to just like move on throughout the
[7:48]day.
[7:48]And I would just be like, I'm done today.
[7:51]I'm done.
[7:50]I'm done.
[7:51]and he would show up in my chair or rest his little
[7:56]head on my lap and he got everyone prepared.
[8:02]So for our hype man Ryan Alaska and for the last one.
[8:15]So, a lot of you don't know, but really the heart of
[8:19]our school is our youth.
[8:21]These young assistants who are taking leadership roles, running classrooms, and helping
[8:29]where honestly us adults just sit back and are amazed.
[8:33]So, for being the lovable leader of the K1 class, Sister Nares
[8:44]And that is the 2025 K1 class.
[8:50]Let's hear it for them.
[9:04]Another Muhammad Ali Muhammad.
[9:13]And a third louder.
[9:23]Now, because we have the appetite for it, let's give a big
[9:27]round of applause for our kindergarten and first grade classes.
[9:41]This right here is an accomplishment.
[9:44]Just to hear the wordsman coming from such young talented minds right
[9:50]here.
[9:51]This is what our school excels at here.
[9:53]This is the community right here.
[9:56]This is what we should all be proud of.
[9:59]Now, we will be recognizing our students with the certificates per each
[10:03]category.
[10:04]We will recognize these outstanding students from various grades and categories for
[10:07]their efforts and achievements this year.
[10:11]So I will start off with the categories and we have some
[10:15]very amazing categories.
[10:15]I personally love these a lot and I'll say the names and

[19:19]Now we have a wonderful performance lined up by none other than
[19:25]our second grade class led by sister Ban who have prepared a
[19:29]heartwarming presentation for each and every single one of us.
[19:34]Now join me in welcoming sister Ban's second grade class after Muhammad
[19:38]Ali Muhammadu Muhammad Let's come forward.
[20:25]Let me see this.
[21:20]Before they begin their performance, I just had some words that I
[21:26]wanted to say about this amazing class.
[21:28]I've seen them perform multiple times and they amaze me.
[21:31]Again, going from the kindergarten to first grade and then second grade,
[21:35]just seeing these amazing performances, seeing their dedication, this is something we
[21:40]should all be proud of.
[21:41]Let's treasure this moment in our chest.
[21:43]Let's thank them for their incredible accomplishments with another loud Not a
[22:08]new beginning.
[22:10]There's a new beginning of everything and learning can be fun.
[22:31]We love everything and learn to all Mashallahu to our second graders
[23:35]for that lovely performance.
[23:36]See, I wasn't lying.
[23:37]An incredible performance by our second grade class.
[23:40]Now, of course, we had kindergarten, first grade, we had second grade,
[23:47]and we're going to have another wonderful performance by our third grade.
[23:51]You guys guessed it.
[23:52]You guys are reading my minds.
[23:53]Mashallah.
[23:53]So, we do have superpowers here at the City of Knowledge Sunday
[23:57]School.
[23:58]We will have our third grade class led by sister Mahish for
[24:04]their own beautiful performance after Muhammad Ali Muhammad.
[24:36]Sounds good.
[24:39]Are they ready?
[24:42]I will just say before we start, I love what they're wearing
[24:47]here.
[24:48]I love everything about this right here.
[24:51]The flags, the preparation.
[24:51]Again, I am just amazed by everything that I've seen so far.
[24:55]And I hope you're all treasuring every single moment here.
[25:27]Salomi Ali.
[25:50]Yeah.
[25:52]We wish you and to serve you.
[25:55]We're ready.
[25:56]We await you and to serve you.
[26:00]Come to us and set us free from this tyranny.
[26:06]Lost in pieces only with your real freedom lies with you.
[26:12]All the problems of the world by your return can be solved.
[26:33]The challenges and final scene for all is that you've seen violence
[26:41]in Myanmar from our hearts is never far in the east who
[26:48]continue to resist brave Muslims of Yemen.
[26:51]man of men and the women.
[26:53]All of these and many more knocking at your door.
[27:20]We promise.
[27:24]We promise.
[27:26]We promise.
[27:28]While waiting for you, we prepare.
[27:30]We won't neglect our real this.
[27:36]We will claim the fac.
[27:42]Let this promise be a good faith.
[27:48]We want to hide.
[28:25]Allahhammed.
[28:27]Ali Muhammad inspiring dedicated to serving the Imam of our time, Immedi.
[28:39]Look at that.
[28:43]Another wonderful, incredible performance from our amazing and talented third grade class.
[28:49]Give them another salah.
[28:50]Muhammad Ali Muhammad.
[28:55]Next, we will move to the class that I teach.
[29:00]And for us, we had challenges.
[29:03]I won't lie.
[29:04]Teaching middle school and the high school age category because I remember
[29:08]when I was in middle school and high school and I remember
[29:13]the difficulties that I faced.
[29:13]Now, they're facing worse.
[29:14]They're facing hard things.
[29:18]They're facing these new challenges.
[29:20]And so, standard lectures sometimes aren't the best way to approach them.
[29:24]I always like to think outside of the box.
[29:27]How can I get someone who's younger than me, who has all
[29:29]this technology, all these distractions, how can I get them to understand
[29:32]our faith, our religion, the way I understand it?
[29:35]I have my own faith system, something that was taught to me
[29:38]by my mentors, by my community, by my parents.
[29:42]How do I teach that to someone here?
[29:44]And so I sat down with my teaching assistants Say Taha and
[29:50]my brother Ali and we created a project an initiative known as
[29:53]the 14 Matsum project which is every single person in class is
[29:58]assigned a group randomized sisters and sisters brothers and brothers and they
[30:04]are chosen an imam.
[30:04]This imam I wanted them to dedicate one or two months to
[30:08]researching.
[30:09]They prepared a presentation and we sat there as judges while they
[30:14]presented their findings on their imams.
[30:16]And it wasn't just an ordinary history lecture.
[30:20]I wanted impact.
[30:20]We understand the imams lived.
[30:22]We understand that they were killed.
[30:25]But what is it that what is their impact today?
[30:27]What's happening today?
[30:29]What's their influence today?
[30:30]Some of these things we don't know.
[30:33]I saw that a lot of our class students we don't have
[30:37]that connection the spiritual connection to the so that was the goal
[30:41]by this project and alhamdulillah we saw a lot of students create
[30:46]fabulous presentations honestly I was impressed because they did something that's difficult
[30:51]especially being that this is just a Sunday school being that we
[30:57]only meet here once a week so to create a presentation about
[30:59]the imam to work with people that you only see once per
[31:05]week.
[31:03]That is something incredible.
[31:08]From there, I chose someone that I felt gave this imam true
[31:11]justice.
[31:12]Today's lecture will be on Imm and I will not be giving
[31:17]this lecture.
[31:16]Say will not be giving this lecture.
[31:19]This lecture will be given to us by our students.
[31:24]Say Amar and say Hussein.
[31:25]If you guys are ready, please bring yourselves up here to present
[31:34]your findings on our fourth im of Imam Zam.
[31:36]The presentation will be shown on the TV just like that like
[31:42]magic and we will have our two presenters here.
[31:45]Let's welcome them all with So our 14 mam our 14 masamine
[32:05]project is about Imam Zan abin.
[32:14]Our 14 Masamine project is about Imam Zanel Abedin.
[32:19]and presented by Amar and Hussein.
[32:25]Introduction to Ali Hassan Alisam's life.
[32:29]So who was Ali Hussein?
[32:32]He was the fourth Imam and he had uh he had various
[32:37]different types of titles.
[32:38]Two of his titles, one of his titles were Im of Sad,
[32:43]which means to go down in submission and I immediat.
[32:50]His father was Imam Hussein and his mother was and his siblings
[32:56]were Ali Akbar, Bis, BB Sakina and Aliar.
[33:01]BB SA is some uh one of the siblings of Imam Z
[33:07]Abadin who was very young and was left behind on the caravan
[33:10]and was ill on the way to Kerbala.
[33:13]He also he also had a big book of duas called the
[33:18]Sahifa.
[33:19]His birthday he was born on the 5th of Shaban 38 after
[33:25]HRA but there are many different narrations.
[33:28]That one was the most popular.
[33:29]He there are also many different narrations on where he was born.
[33:33]He was born in either Goofa or Medina.
[33:37]Next slide.
[33:40]So now we going to talk about the two major the four
[33:46]big events and that played in his life.
[33:49]So number one is we mourn for this every moharam.
[33:53]It is the battle of Karbala.
[33:55]Unfortunately, Imam Zenin he was ill so he couldn't like fight.
[34:02]So his father told him to stay and and told him not
[34:07]to go fight and one by one his family was martyed including
[34:11]Hazat Abbas and Hazat Hazat Kasim and Imam Hussein Alisam and many
[34:18]more.
[34:19]The enemies took them captive and they took them to prison and
[34:23]passed through Kufa where they had a parade.
[34:27]But they still stayed bold and stay clearly how Yazid was wrong.
[34:32]And after and after imprisonment, Imam Imam Zahedin, he shared a story
[34:39]um with everyone.
[34:41]And the next big event is that um he created a book
[34:46]of the walls called the Sahifa Sajadia.
[34:51]The third big event was the event of Har where Yazid's army
[34:56]attacked Medina and Mecca.
[34:58]This event happened after Garbala.
[35:00]The maji was used for the horses and the cabba was put
[35:07]on fire.
[35:06]Number four, Mkhtar took revenge and punished the murder of the Imam's
[35:11]companions and family.
[35:14]Next slide.
[35:18]The death The passing of the Imam while Abdul Malik hated the
[35:27]Imam.
[35:25]He loathed him.
[35:27]He even said there lies no peace and tranquility for me while
[35:31]the imam is alive.
[35:34]While Ali Hussein is alive even though he had the best qualities
[35:39]infallibility in pious trades that whoever met him was considered extremely lucky.
[35:46]But while Abdul Malik when he became the new califf he gave
[35:52]a deadly poison to a figure who used it on the Imam.
[35:55]He unfortunately passed on Muharam 25th 95 after Hijra.
[36:01]He's buried in the Albaki cemetery in Medina.
[36:07]Quotes from Imam Zad.
[36:10]Quotes from Im Zad.
[36:11]Surely I've never brought to mind the martyrdom of the children except
[36:17]of Fatima except I've been choked with tears due to it.
[36:20]This quote is talking about um Imam Fatim Hazat Fatima's um children
[36:28]which was Imam Hussein BB Zanab and plenty of more which means
[36:31]that when they were little they didn't have like like a perfect
[36:34]like life.
[36:35]They had to suffer a lot.
[36:37]They lost their mom and then they lost their dad.
[36:40]So like when Imam Zahadin when he heard this story he was
[36:43]in tears because of how Bibb Fatima's um children they suffer through
[36:49]Allah.
[36:50]The second quote is that the richest of people is that who
[36:53]is satisfied with what Allah has chosen for him.
[36:56]So um most rich people they have a uh they have a
[36:59]lot of money they buy a mansion they buy a car or
[37:04]and plenty more.
[37:06]But the one the rich person is the one who satisfied Allah.
[37:09]That is the meaning of a rich person in Islam.
[37:13]The third quote is make my intentions to the be the best
[37:20]of intentions and my actions to be the best of actions.
[37:23]This is from dua.
[37:24]So what this means is that imbad is asking Allah for his
[37:30]intentions to be good, his actions to be good so you can
[37:32]pray to Allah better, be a better person.
[37:39]Now why is this important and why do we need to know
[37:45]more about the Imamisam?
[37:44]He has he had pious traits and infallibility a a group of
[37:49]righteousness.
[37:50]if the person's not right themsel.
[37:53]Next is the event of Gerbala.
[37:55]Like I said, Immadin wasn't able to fight because he was ill.
[38:02]But every time we humans, we are also sick.
[38:05]So that um if we are sick, we knew that um we
[38:07]remember that Imam Zabin he was sick in Kbala.
[38:11]So we have to remember about that moment.
[38:13]Next is the Sahifa Sajadia.
[38:16]Um I explained this a lot of times but I will explain
[38:18]it again.
[38:20]It's just like um it's just like a book of duas that
[38:25]like you just like has like the the the way of life
[38:27]and stuff and lots of hadits.
[38:30]So I recommend you search that up when you get home.
[38:34]So this is just a recap basically like the introduction.
[38:38]So what we learned is that how how the imam passed from
[38:45]a wicked man named W Abdul Malik from a poison.
[38:47]He w he was born on the 5th of Shaban 5th of
[38:53]Shaban 38 after Hra.
[38:56]That was the most popular day and he was passed on Muharam
[39:02]25th 95 after HR.
[39:02]His father was Imam Hussein Alisam.
[39:04]His mother was Shah Ban and his siblings were Ali Akbar Ali
[39:10]Aar B and Bi Sakina.
[39:11]Imagin Abadine had many pious traits and infallibility and he was at
[39:17]and he was there with all the history of Gerbala.
[39:19]It wasn't just a fight.
[39:23]It was the after effects.
[39:23]He was there for all of it.
[39:26]History and he also has knowledge.
[39:28]Knowledge.
[39:29]Knowledge.
[39:29]Knowledge is what we need.
[39:32]Thank you.
[39:41]It's a good job.
[40:05]It's one thing for them to sit through one of my boring
[40:08]lectures, but it's another for me to see that they were able
[40:11]to do the research.
[40:13]They're able to see how long it takes to actually make a
[40:15]lecture.
[40:16]So, it's one thing just to listen to something, but to make
[40:21]it and to research it, a lot goes into making a lecture.
[40:22]And so, it gives me a lot of appreciation for what Salah
[40:27]does, it's incredible, honestly.
[40:28]And I'm so proud of our students.
[40:31]really.
[40:32]They worked so hard and um I don't want to cry right
[40:34]here, but inside I'm definitely crying because it's it it makes me
[40:41]so emotional to see our future here.
[40:45]Alhamdulillah.
[40:42]Now, as I alluded to, it is my absolute honor to invite
[40:51]our spiritual leader to share a few words of inspiration after a
[40:57]loud Ali Muhammad.
[41:19]Alhamdulillah.
[41:21]Alhamdulillah.
[41:22]Today we are gathering to celebrate the graduation and the ending of
[41:28]a school year, another school year, the third school year we've had
[41:33]here at Mecca in Canton.
[41:35]And alhamdulillah it's always beautiful to see these wonderful children the future
[41:43]our future and the future of Islam in this country to show
[41:51]their Islamic identity to recite Quran to recite nasheed to show that
[41:59]they are the future of Islam And alhamdulillah we take this opportunity
[42:07]to first of all thank the children themselves for coming every week
[42:15]and participating every Sunday they are getting up and they're coming and
[42:20]participating and attending the classes and learning about Islam and learning about
[42:24]their faith and learning about their culture praying.
[42:29]It is very beautiful and we have to show our appreciation to
[42:33]the kids and alhamdulillah the management here they have done so by
[42:38]giving them the awards and all of that.
[42:41]Alhamdulillah.
[42:42]I also take this opportunity to thank our dear administration from the
[42:48]principal, the vice principal, sister and sister N and the teachers and
[42:53]the TAs, all of the teachers and the TAs who every weekend,
[42:56]every weekend they dedicate their weekend, their Sunday mornings to come here
[43:02]to teach our children to te to come here to have our
[43:07]children learn about Islam and learn about their values.
[43:10]My dear brothers and sisters, it takes a lot to dedicate your
[43:14]weekend to come here and participate and and come with the with
[43:18]with the passion that they come with.
[43:20]So may Allah subhanana wa ta'ala bless them all.
[43:24]We pray for their success.
[43:25]Some of the TAs they were students here then they ended up
[43:30]becoming TAs.
[43:31]Some of them are becoming teachers and inshallah next year some of
[43:35]the TAs are going to become teachers.
[43:36]And this is something that is very beautiful that we are seeing
[43:42]here.
[43:41]May Allah subhana wa ta'ala bless them all as well.
[43:44]And my final message is to the parents.
[43:48]The parents you also have put in so much.
[43:53]Every weekend you bring your children.
[43:54]You are following up with them and we are dealing with the
[44:00]limited space that we have here.
[44:03]But alhamdulillah, the parents are very um cooperative and they're very they're
[44:07]working with what we have here.
[44:10]Uh may Allah subhana wa ta'ala bless you all.
[44:12]As parents, you also receive reward for bringing your children and participating
[44:18]and having your children learn about Islam.
[44:21]And this is as parents, this is one of our most important
[44:27]duties, one of our most important responsibilities.
[44:30]Yes, we have to feed our children.
[44:33]We have to clothe them.
[44:33]We have to put a roof over their head.
[44:35]We have to make sure they're comfortable.
[44:37]But we have to also give them the and we have to
[44:41]also give them Islam.
[44:41]And we have to make sure that they know their salah and
[44:44]their the graduation of our beloved students.
[62:28]We thank Allah for granting us the blessing of knowledge and the
[62:32]opportunity to nurture the young minds with light of Islamic education.
[62:37]To our graduating students, today marks the end of one chapter and
[62:42]the beginning of another.
[62:45]As you step out in this world, carry with you the values
[62:48]that Islam and Ayama Karam has taught you.
[62:53]Honesty, humility, patience, compassion, sincere commitment to seeking knowledge.
[62:59]Remember the words of Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam.
[63:03]Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim.
[63:08]You are ambassador of this school and representative of our dean.
[63:12]Strive for excellence but never lose sight of your faith.
[63:17]Let your character reflect the beauty of Islam wherever you go.
[63:21]To all the parents, thank you so much for your trust, your
[63:29]sacrifices, and your constant support.

[63:42]all your tireless efforts.
