[0:03]for the reappearance of the twelve in mountain priests recite allah muhammad
[0:07]muhammad [Music] [Music] foreign opportunities in life are always limited not only
[1:01]in numbers but also by time that's why you see in the
[1:07]narration from amira mo nina alaihi sadatta salaam he states make sure
[1:13]to hasten when it comes to opportunity when it comes to good
[1:17]deeds why because good deeds are an opportunity in other words they're
[1:23]limited both by time and both by number in another narration he
[1:26]states al-fursa to sariatul in other words the opportunities we are being
[1:31]blessed with will pass by quickly they're not going to be there
[1:36]forever therefore it's important for us that we become sensitive when it
[1:39]comes to the different opportunities we're blessed with in our lives so
[1:44]one of the schemes of shaitaan is that he wants us to
[1:49]miss out on the opportunities we're presented in life or we are
[1:52]blessed with in life that's why you see allah in the now
[1:57]some of the narrations we have in hadith if i'm not mistaken
[2:00]the day of judgment is being described as the day of regret
[2:05]where people show up and are regretful because of what because of
[2:10]all these they see all the opportunities they missed out on their
[2:12]lives they're going to meet ayatollah and they will see the exact
[2:18]amount of opportunities that he will be given they will mess with
[2:21]as well the only difference between the two is that they missed
[2:23]out on the opportunities that ayatollah bashid rahmatullah he grabbed and he
[2:28]took advantage of that's the difference between the two a person shows
[2:32]up on the day of judgement and he finds out that he
[2:38]could be himself if he just grabbed the opportunities he was blessed
[2:42]but but no he missed out on it on the opportunities therefore
[2:46]it's important for us to become sensitive about the different opportunities we're
[2:51]given in life we're blessed with in life or else we're going
[2:55]to miss out on these opportunities but dear brothers and sisters our
[2:58]discussion tonight is not only about opportunities or opportunities itself it's about
[3:03]one specific opportunity that allah subhanahu wa that he blesses his worshipers
[3:08]with but these opportunities are also limited in number and by time
[3:13]even when it comes to the prophet sallam you see prophet ibrahim
[3:18]you can count with one hand the opportunities he was blessed with
[3:22]one specific opportunity which was to sacrifice for the sake of allah
[3:28]and that's the concept in our topic tonight because that itself is
[3:31]an opportunity that is limited by number in other words the blessing
[3:35]or being able to sacrifice for the sake of allah this opportunity
[3:40]that we are presented or given in life will be limited both
[3:45]in number and both in time as well it's a concept the
[3:53]concept of sacrificing for the sake of allah that had deep roots
[3:56]in history as well not only in islam but history as well
[3:59]you see when allah talks about the history of adam alaihi salam
[4:03]and his two sons he mentions that the first conflict that exists
[4:08]in human history was because of a sacrifice allah states in holy
[4:21]he accepted the sacrifice from habit but he didn't accept the sacrifice
[4:26]from in other words since the start of humanity the concept of
[4:30]sacrificing something for the sake of god has existed so had deep
[4:36]roots in history and not only in history you see other religions
[4:39]other than islam as well the concept of sacrificing something for the
[4:43]sake of allah or in order to see closeness to allah is
[4:49]essential that's why you see the jews that came to the prophet
[4:51]sallallahu alaihi the priest besides in the narration the jews they came
[5:00]to the prophet and they told him if you're telling the truth
[5:03]that you are prophet and you're truthful about your prophethood make a
[5:09]sacrifice and allah wa would accept that sacrifice to show as a
[5:14]sign afterwards the prophet salallahu and he turned around he told them
[5:17]he said every single prophet that came to you he sacrificed something
[5:20]allah showed his time it's his sign that it was accepted that
[5:25]sacrifice but you ended up killing these individuals now you want me
[5:28]to show you a sign the point is that sacrifice has deep
[5:33]roots in different religions not only islam has deep roots in human
[5:40]history the concept of sacrificing for the sake of allah subhanahu wa
[5:44]ta'ala and after that it developed into another concept which is called
[5:47]infer islam which means that you fill out the empty space which
[5:50]exists in the society sometimes you see there's poor people in the
[5:53]society you make sure to provide for them that's in you see
[5:59]what the society needs and you make sure to fill out that
[6:03]empty gap yeah that's called infer that concept is always mentioned next
[6:07]and side by side with another concept in islam and what is
[6:13]that the prayer allah states in the holy quran they establish the
[6:18]prayer and they give out from their wealth in other words they
[6:22]sacrifice so he put it puts it side by side with what
[6:26]what imam jump for the santa claus he calls the pillar of
[6:32]faith which is the prayer and the philosophy behind the concept of
[6:37]sacrificing for allah is also quite clear dear brothers and sisters because
[6:41]we are not blessed with different things in this life for us
[6:45]to have an attachment to develop an attachment to that specific thing
[6:48]all of these material goods whether it's your health your wealth whatever
[6:53]it is we're giving these things so we can sacrifice it and
[6:57]use it as a stepping stone in order to see closeness to
[7:01]allah that's why you see imam jaffar the sword is he when
[7:04]he was asked to define generosity one of his companions he came
[7:07]to him he asked him can you define generosity for me imam
[7:12]alayhi saddam he turned around he asked him he turned the question
[7:16]around and he told him so how do you define generosity in
[7:18]your own tribe he said when we are given something we are
[7:24]thankful if not we are patient imam jafar and he answered him
[7:30]without comparing you to now the dogs but the dogs of a
[7:36]medina are they different than that when they're giving something they're thankful
[7:40]and when if not they're patient right so the companion he tells
[7:49]him that's why we came to you we wanted you to define
[7:53]generosity for us look how the imam johnson he defines generosity he
[7:57]said when allah he bless us with a blessing we sacrifice it
[7:59]for the sake of allah we sacrifice it for the sake of
[8:04]allah and if he doesn't bless us with a blessing we are
[8:07]thankful the philosophy behind the concept of sacrificing something for the sake
[8:15]of allah subhanahu wa is quite clear because that's the concept which
[8:18]separates the men from the boys which separates the truthful from those
[8:23]who put forward a false claim about their faith that's the concept
[8:29]of sacrificing for the sake of allah in a famous speech from
[8:32]imam he called people who invited people to help him out with
[8:38]the movement to start the movement so what happened was that some
[8:42]people came forward and they said we can hold whole speeches different
[8:45]places give lectures and so on he said look beautiful words and
[8:49]nice quotes exist everywhere yeah if you got something nice to say
[8:55]keep it for yourself i need your hands put your money where
[8:58]your mouth is at right as we say in english if you
[9:00]want to prove that you're faithful you'll believe in allah subhanahu wa
[9:04]show it by sacrificing it's not enough just to put forward a
[9:08]claim you have to sacrifice and dear brothers and sisters let me
[9:15]ask you a question here do you know anybody who's accepted from
[9:18]actually sacrificing something whether you like it or not you're going to
[9:24]sacrifice something if you want to be parents for example you have
[9:29]to sacrifice time to raise your children if you want to live
[9:33]if you want to eat you have to sacrifice money whether you're
[9:36]rich or poor black or white woman or a man it doesn't
[9:39]make a difference sooner or later you will be forced to sacrifice
[9:41]your health your wealth your time your lives so when we are
[9:50]given something it's for us to use it as a stepping stone
[9:51]so we can sacrifice it and for serve our self-development that's why
[9:56]we read in the month of ramadan one of the famous dua
[9:58]that we read allah the most precious thing we have in our
[10:03]lives our lives right makes make it a martyrdom on your path
[10:11]another verse in the holy quran how many times in the holy
[10:17]quran is not that not mentioned that they strive with their wealth
[10:20]and their lives what does it mean to strive with your wealth
[10:23]in your lives did you sacrifice it for the sake of allah
[10:27]what else so the concept other than having deep roots in history
[10:33]other than being an essential part of islam other having a clear
[10:39]philosophy behind it everybody should understand that sacrificing is a universal law
[10:46]the only thing that separates believers from non-believers is what we sacrifice
[10:51]it for but sooner or later everyone would be forced to sacrifice
[10:55]and there's a huge difference between a person without his free with
[10:58]his free will that sacrificed something and using it as use it
[11:01]as a stepping stone for his own self development and a person
[11:07]that like a child that is hugging his toy is being pulled
[11:12]away from that toy to separate that child from a toy a
[11:14]child is cute when a child does it but when a human
[11:19]being is so attached to his worthy affairs that when he's forced
[11:23]to being separated or to sacrifice these things that it affects him
[11:29]mentally that's not that cute that's quite miserable actually yeah that a
[11:35]person becomes like that for a child you can say that they
[11:40]don't have the intellect they don't have the understanding but for a
[11:42]human being like you've grown up he has the intellect he knows
[11:44]that he has to give up on it sooner or later he
[11:48]has the understanding of time he should know so it's a universal
[11:53]law that everybody has to sacrifice but the difference is that what
[11:58]you sacrifice for what you sacrifice for whether you use the concept
[12:02]as a stepping stone for your own self-development or not so when
[12:06]we understand that it's a universal law that we have to sacrifice
[12:08]sooner or later it's going to be easier for us to actually
[12:11]sacrifice for the sake of allah why because we know we have
[12:15]to give up on it sooner or later we have to give
[12:17]up on it and when i say sacrifice i don't mean that
[12:20]you put it on fire you burn it away for example let
[12:23]it be ashes no you spent it in the sake of for
[12:26]the sake of allah subhanahu wa you make sure that not only
[12:29]yourself but other believers the community that can benefit from it if
[12:32]you have knowledge give out of that knowledge if you have wealth
[12:35]share it with poor people yeah it's not that you keep it
[12:40]for yourself become greedy and that so now now is the question
[12:47]what happens if we don't sacrifice for the sake of allah now
[12:49]we understand it's a universal law that we got we will have
[12:54]to sacrifice sooner or later but just imagine that we did don't
[12:57]sacrifice for the sake of allah subhanahu what will happen i'm going
[12:59]to mention four consequences of not sacrificing what you possess for the
[13:04]sake of allah and you'll be the judge afterwards you'll be the
[13:09]judge afterwards the first thing the first thing the first consequence of
[13:13]not sacrifice actually you sacrifice but because there's a lack of sincerity
[13:16]it's not going to be accepted from you simple even if you
[13:22]sacrifice millions of pounds right millions billions if it's not with the
[13:28]with sincerity if you do it to please other people yeah if
[13:32]you do it to become famous whatever you can think of it
[13:35]will not be accepted from you this sacrifice in a beautiful narration
[13:41]one of the companions of prophet isaiah he came to prophet assad
[13:45]he said how come my sacrifice wasn't accepted prophet isaiah islam he
[13:51]asked allah allah he replies he said this person has doubts in
[13:54]the heart about your prophet therefore when he sacrificed when he sacrificed
[13:58]he wasn't sincere he had doubts he doubted whether you were prophet
[14:04]or not therefore when he did it it wasn't out of his
[14:06]intention were not pure prophet he said he said he told him
[14:12]the companion this and then he turned around he said yes it's
[14:14]true to be honest i doubt doubted that you were a prophet
[14:16]he said go out clear your heart and shall come back afterwards
[14:20]make sure that you can do it again so the first thing
[14:23]is a lack of sincerity results in our sacrifice not being accepted
[14:29]what's the second consequence and it gets worse for every consequence it
[14:34]gets worse i can warn you that so the second is that
[14:42]allah the wrath of allah would be upon us to an extent
[14:44]that we're not going to get the opportunity to sacrifice again if
[14:50]you are blessed with an opportunity to sacrifice and it's demanded from
[14:57]you that you sacrifice for the sake of allah and you don't
[14:59]grab that opportunity it would be taken away from you and you
[15:02]will not be given a second chance in a verse from the
[15:10]holy quran surah ayah 83 allah subhanahu wa talks about the companions
[15:14]that didn't go to the expedition called when the prophet sallallahu alaihi
[15:21]he told him to do so what happened allah explains to go
[15:39]on an expedition with you rasulullah he's talking to the prophet tell
[15:44]these individuals you're never going to come with me you had one
[15:55]chance and then he continues and you're not going to fight the
[15:58]enemies with me anymore you were satisfied with sitting behind with the
[16:10]people that were left behind the children and the women and the
[16:14]weak in the first place now you can sit with them be
[16:17]comfortable with them you're not going to be blessed with the opportunity
[16:20]to sacrifice something for the sake of allah again they came up
[16:23]with all sorts of excuses the prophet told them we have to
[16:28]participate in this expedition the ummah is in danger they turned around
[16:32]they said maybe the harvest we have to harvest you know like
[16:34]our family our children i don't know what bringing all sorts of
[16:39]excuses allah subhanallah said look you got one golden opportunity you missed
[16:42]out on it finished i'm not going to give you the blessing
[16:45]again he says opportunities they're going to pass quickly and if they
[16:57]pass if you miss out on it what happens you're not going
[17:00]to be given the chance again that's the second consequence now the
[17:03]third one which is a bit more dangerous what is that that
[17:09]is a concept that we read about in the holy quran called
[17:13]is in other words replacement allah and explicitly tells us in the
[17:22]holy quran if you're a person that does not sacrifice for the
[17:25]sake of allah i'm going to replace you i'm going to replace
[17:32]you yeah that's one of the verses from the holy quran is
[17:40]not mentioned in this verse yeah but he said who you who
[17:44]believe if you turn around from your religion one of them in
[17:47]other words one of the examples of turning around from your religion
[17:50]is not sacrificed sacrificing for the sake of allah when it's demanded
[17:55]from you for it so yet is going to replace you with
[18:03]a people and he loves those people and they love him in
[18:04]other words you're going to be changed you're going to be replaced
[18:08]and another verse from the holy quran which is much more explicit
[18:12]surah muhammad [Music] the people that were invited to sacrifice some of
[18:33]their wealth for the sake of allah look how he explains it
[18:36]so beautifully there's some of you who withhold from actually sacrificing for
[18:43]the sake of allah out of greed women the ones who withhold
[18:48]out of greed to give up from his world to sacrifice for
[18:51]the sake of allah subhanahu wa yep he withholds benefits from themselves
[18:56]you thought we needed soldiers that's why we told you to do
[19:02]so no you didn't have the capacity to do so we don't
[19:04]need soldiers we can find other people we're going to replace you
[19:08]with other people and that's what he explains here in now comes
[19:13]the dangerous part yes if you turn away from sacrificing for the
[19:21]sake of allah because you went whole out of your own greed
[19:25]in other words your attachment to your word the affairs yes is
[19:31]going to replace you with another people and then he makes it
[19:35]clear have you seen when a person gets knocked out he lies
[19:37]on the floor and then a person he goes and he kicks
[19:41]him he's already down he's falling like allah subhanahu wa that he
[19:44]does that in the last part he says he already told us
[19:50]that he replaced us but then he emphasizes no and they're not
[19:53]gonna be like you the people i'm gonna replace you with you're
[19:57]greedy you're not willing to sacrifice for the sake of allah that's
[20:01]the third consequences of what of not sacrificing when it's demanded from
[20:05]me what's the fourth and the last one dear brothers and sisters
[20:08]the fourth and the last one is the most dangerous one and
[20:11]it's a punishment to be honest yeah it is mentioned as a
[20:14]punishment in the hadith what kind of punishment a punishment that is
[20:18]worse than going straight to hell can you think of a punishment
[20:22]that is worse than going straight to hell what's worse than going
[20:26]straight to hell listen to the hadith from imam bhaktani salam and
[20:32]imam wa is going to do what he's going to punish him
[20:50]by making this person take a step for the enemies of allah
[20:55]well he dear brothers and sisters let me tell you something the
[20:58]people of kufa they didn't have any hope in yazid the people
[21:01]of kufa they never liked yazid they hated yazid the people of
[21:06]kufa expected nothing from yazid but the people of kufa ended up
[21:08]sacrificing everything for yazid the same people that fought three different wars
[21:15]for amirah muhammadin the people that were in the people that were
[21:20]in jamal it's not like they weren't ready to sacrifice but when
[21:24]they had to sacrifice he wanted them to sacrifice they showed weakness
[21:33]they showed weakness and that's that's what their issue that's why you
[21:38]see when it came when it comes to the middle morning nights
[21:43]and they participated side by side when when it came to karbala
[21:46]when it came to canberra it's famous the famous sentence what does
[21:50]it say their hearts is against you if you want to understand
[22:01]the concept of kerbal or the tragedy of karbala in this right
[22:03]context you need to understand this concept first then you understand why
[22:06]the people that were drawing swords against imam hussain ali saddam they
[22:10]were shedding tears while they were doing it their swords are against
[22:19]you but they're shedding tears while they're doing it allah he punished
[22:22]these individuals because when it was demanded from them to sacrifice for
[22:26]the sake of allah subhanahu wa they showed weakness they weren't ready
[22:32]they brought up all words excuses our mercation is the best examples
[22:40]we can give in one of the makhan we read that one
[22:42]of the soldiers of yazid he went to the children of abu
[22:47]dhabi saddam and he stopped pulling the thorns out of the blessed
[22:49]feet of the children of the night while he was shedding tears
[22:53]one of the people from the from benihashim came forward and it's
[22:57]like why are you crying you are the one up you're the
[22:59]one oppressing us why are you crying he said but in the
[23:02]end these are the children of the prophet sallallahu alaihi he was
[23:06]crying while he was doing so look at the punishment you know
[23:11]what's worse than going straight to hell going straight to hell with
[23:14]the blood of our abdullah islam on your hands that's worse and
[23:18]that's what you get if you don't sacrifice for the sake of
[23:23]allah wa'ta'ala when it's demanded from you that's the fourth and the
[23:27]last consequence so what can we do how can we make make
[23:29]it good again insha'allah how can we make up for it the
[23:33]first thing we can do dear brothers and sisters is make sure
[23:38]that every single day for the rest of our lives inshallah on
[23:42]a daily basis there's a specific action we do when we sacrifice
[23:46]something with pure akhlas only for the sake of allah yeah for
[23:53]nothing else without expecting anything in return but make sure that is
[23:59]continuous yeah make sure that it's continuous that's the important part even
[24:03]if it's the smallest sacrifice just make sure it's there whether it's
[24:08]five pounds or one pound even a day you sent for the
[24:12]poor people that oppressed people in yemen whether it's half an hour
[24:16]a day you spent to benefit the muslim community for example just
[24:20]make sure it's there that you sacrifice something and solely for the
[24:26]sake of allah without expecting anything in return don't respect expect any
[24:31]results from it nothing train yourself to sacrifice because when the day
[24:38]comes and you have to sacrifice something much greater you trained yourself
[24:42]to do so so when it's demanded from you that you sacrifice
[24:45]your wealth you sacrifice even your lives you can do so why
[24:49]you've been doing it every single day but just make sure that
[24:55]it's continuous once in muhammad had a speech a whole speech about
[24:58]why actions should be continuous it's quite simple because action becomes a
[25:05]habit a habit becomes a per a personal part of your your
[25:11]existence it becomes a part of your personal character that's why it's
[25:15]important for you to that is continuous that you sacrifice continuously even
[25:19]if it's small even if it's tiny at least it's there that's
[25:25]important i'm going to mention the last hadith from the prophet salallahu
[25:30]and then the second advice that what we can do when it
[25:35]comes to sacrificing for the sake of allah the prophet salallahu states
[25:41]in a beautiful narration have chosen some individuals in in a community
[25:48]in the society and he blesses these individuals with certain blessings and
[25:54]then he states women after and things that are in benefit for
[25:59]for the muslim community or the believers or the worshipers of allah
[26:10]in other words they are blessed with certain blessings but if they
[26:14]don't give it out for the sake of allah subhanahu wa if
[26:16]they don't sacrifice in other words they prevent other people from benefiting
[26:20]from these goods and these blessings that allah subhanallah have blessed them
[26:24]with allah subhanallah is gonna take these blessings from them and give
[26:27]it to other people simple the second thing we can do dear
[26:34]brothers and sisters that is not never teach our children not to
[26:39]become famous never teach our children not to become wealthy not to
[26:43]teach never teach our children not to seek none of these things
[26:46]instead teach them how to sacrifice it for the sake of allah
[26:52]then you become a shaheed like eduardo aguinelli he's the famous italian
[26:57]who was a supposed to own fiat and ferrari today then you
[27:03]become like a person like him even though he has everything from
[27:07]a worthy perspective he's willing to sacrifice it all for the sake
[27:12]of allah but if we teach them not to go after these
[27:14]things without teaching them to how to sacrifice these things for the
[27:16]sake of allah subhanallah then even if the only the only thing
[27:20]that they possess and own is a silly like it's a simple
[27:24]mobile phone with no value they will be so attached to it
[27:25]that even that they can't sacrifice it for the sake of allah
[27:29]but if you teach them to sacrifice the concept of sacrificing to
[27:33]the for the sake of allah in its right context then you
[27:36]can give that person millions of pounds he's going to sacrifice it
[27:40]for the sake of allah even if he becomes the most famous
[27:42]individual on earth he's going to use that fame for the sake
[27:47]of god so that's important that we do that it is now
[27:55]rated that say that she saw a dream and she saw imam
[28:06]hussein at eastern in her dream after the tragedy in kampala so
[28:12]what happened afterwards she woke up and she stopped calling for say
[28:16]the zen absolutely say this she came in to say that and
[28:24]she asked her what is it and she was loud she said
[28:28]i want to see my father where's hussein should she start crying
[28:36]crying out loud and the soldiers of yazid they heard so one
[28:40]of these soldiers is in the castle they said if this little
[28:45]girl if she wants to see the head make sure to send
[28:50]it for it they took the blessed head of the lady salaam
[28:54]and brought it to say that yes i don't know how to
