[2:24]Quran makes references to Iblis to say in the devil that despite

[2:29]him trying to Cozy up to you him trying to beautify sins

[2:36]in your eyes that he is your utmost enemy Allah in various

[2:41]versus States is your enemy so make him your enemy as well

[2:56]people that fall on the camp of Allah where do they end

[3:01]up the Heavenly abodes people that are on the camp of Satan

[3:05]where do they end up in the depths of Hellfire Allah States

[4:01]his disposal therefore it's only necessary that we understand some of these

[4:08]tools and we ought to equip ourselves with tools to counteract shaytan

[4:12]thus protecting ourselves from the entrapments of the devil is highly highly

[4:18]necessary you find what is Saiyan's ultimate goal to distance us from

[4:29]Allah to create a gap between us and our creator lord of

[4:33]the universe Allah how does he engage in doing so he makes

[4:38]you forget the remembrance of Allah of Allah he makes you lean

[5:00]that's the ultimate goal of Satan but Satan cannot directly control your

[5:13]of fault right they wrong someone or they make a sin oh

[5:38]force you to take action that is beyond the realm of Satan's

[5:43]power Allah has not given him such power he can't force you

[5:53]people following the whims of Satan how is that you see my

[5:56]dear brothers and sisters actions have prerequisites do you just suddenly engage

[6:03]in action there are numerous steps that build up to you engaging

[6:08]in an action it's there that Satan has power and there are

[6:12]four steps my dear brothers and sisters the first is your thoughts

[6:18]see many of us a lot of our thoughts either they're just

[6:23]passing thoughts right a thought just randomly comes in and as soon

[6:27]as it came it leaves some thoughts begin to what they begin

[6:31]to marinate and they stay a little longer until they grow into

[6:36]larger than just thoughts they become desires and impulses now yes much

[6:44]of our thoughts are not within our control that is very understandable

[6:51]Allah does not hold you accountable for all your thoughts right sometimes

[6:56]thoughts just spontaneously appear so at this stage you're not held accountable

[7:02]if even a satanic thought or something impermissible occurs you're not held

[7:07]responsible at this point but sometimes these thoughts they marinate until they

[7:12]become what desires and impulses right we have the nafsa that self

[7:19]which what wants you to lean towards evil these impulses again many

[7:27]of them Allah Allah hold you accountable for you know many of

[7:32]these desires and impulses we have Allah placed within us some we

[7:36]cater to and grow yes but some are spontaneously there and so

[7:43]Allah even at this stage he does not hold you accountable you

[7:48]find what is the next stage after a thought forms it transforms

[7:55]after marinating a little bit into desires and impulses it turns into

[8:01]Judgment of action after you have a desired impulse to do something

[8:05]then you start thinking should I do this that's where the intellect

[8:11]comes in what are the pros of doing this what are the

[8:14]cons is this islamically permissible does this go against my dignity and

[8:18]honor as a human being right we all have alhamdulillah disability and

[8:22]in fact it's this ability that distinguishes us from who from animals

[8:26]you find the gap between an animal's desires and impulses and an

[8:31]animal's actions is what is not there there's no gap an animal

[8:35]the moment it feels a desire and impulse to do something it

[8:39]engages in right you find animals in the wild when they need

[8:43]to relieve themselves do they wait until they get to a lake

[8:48]or restroom or wherever they are on top of a tree on

[8:49]the ground they relieve themselves the moment the gap between when a

[8:55]desire emerges and when they enact upon it when they act upon

[8:57]it it's not there non-existent but the human being is not like

[9:02]that my dear brothers and sisters when we have desires and impulses

[9:05]that come up we have our intellect whereby we can think should

[9:11]I act upon this desire is it in my best interest to

[9:17]do so do I violate any laws any laws of Allah we

[9:20]have this ability imparted to us by Allah and then finally the

[9:26]last step before these thoughts and these ideations transform into action is

[9:35]what is what's called this is basically your knee your intention but

[9:42]my dear brother and sisters Nia does not exactly translate to intention

[9:47]you could have an intention to do something right but it's not

[9:50]a strict intention to do so right I have an intention to

[12:08]if these all happen if a thought occurs it transforms into an

[12:12]Impulse you ration upon that impulse then you have the knee to

[12:15]act upon it then action is possible so where does Satan play

[12:21]a role here Satan starts with item number one right he starts

[12:30]by whispering in your heart those evil impulsive thoughts who's the one

[12:39]whispering it's that a cursed enemy of humanity Satan and so you

[12:50]find because Satan is behind many of these thoughts that we have

[12:55]like I mentioned earlier we're not directly responsible for a lot of

[12:59]the thoughts we have right Allah has given the ability of Satan

[13:04]to whisper those evil thoughts within our hearts and Minds within the

[13:09]school of thought of the we believe we're not held responsible for

[13:11]those thoughts but you find there are some other schools of thought

[13:17]within Islam like the ashara for example that believe you can be

[13:21]punished for something that's beyond your control right if even if you're

[13:31]not directly responsible for a thought materializing you will still be punished

[13:35]for that whereas you find within the school of thought of the

[13:40]Angel bait that goes against what the justness of Allah Allah it

[13:44]would be against his god-like qualities to punish you for something that

[13:49]is what beyond your control Allah will only ever judge you by

[13:54]things that are directly within your control such dictates the justness of

[14:00]Allah azzawajal there's a Hadith in which he States every person's heart

[14:09]has two ears now obviously these are metaphorical ears right every person's

[14:15]heart has two ears on the right side who's whispering an angel

[14:21]is Whispering for you to what engage in good actions return to

[14:25]your lord and on the left side who is Whispering Satan and

[14:31]what's your whispering engage in bad action watch those inappropriate films attend

[14:45]two simultaneous streams of thoughts yes both are not within your control

[14:49]they're being sent your way but what you do have the ability

[14:53]to control is which side you take right am I going to

[14:57]give in to that left side that's Whispering those evil thoughts or

[15:00]am I going to give in to that right side which is

[15:04]telling me engage in good do good to your neighbors give back

[15:08]to your community which side am I going to take that is

[15:10]where Allah is going to judge us and this you find in

[15:17]the verse I recited in the beginning those who believe if Satan

[15:25]begins whispering in their ears two types of people will emerge who

[15:31]are the two types the first Allah says they upon hearing those

[15:41]satanic thoughts they do thicker of Allah they begin remembering Allah right

[15:48]these people Allah will open their eyes to truth thus you find

[15:55]Allah the quranic prescription to dealing with these satanic thoughts is what

[16:02]doing Allah upon the victor of Allah your heart is calmed you

[16:10]see what that which Allah is trying to guide you to and

[16:13]you attain righteousness verily it's by the remembrance of Allah that hearts

[16:22]are calmed are placed in serenity so the first group of people

[16:31]are those who upon hearing the satanic Whispers they remember Allah and

[16:35]they will be guided who is the second group of people um

[16:43]refers to the people who give in to the satanic Whispers as

[16:50]who as brothers and sisters of the devil when you give in

[16:53]to The Whispers of the devil Allah describes you as what as

[17:00]of the devil and these people what happens to them they only

[17:07]ever go further a story and so the last thing we'd want

[17:12]to be is what brothers and sisters of the devil how do

[17:25]those Temptations become brothers of the devil those who engage in Allah

[19:17]day a new gender is being added to the list a new

[19:21]color is being added to the flag why is this happening when

[19:23]you let Satan take root his roots will grow deeper and deeper

[19:27]and deeper it's only natural but Allah says cut it at its

[19:37]root what is the technique Muhammad all right thus you find if

[19:56]you're not able to calm down those impulses and desires right because

[20:03]many of them are beyond our control right some some of these

[20:08]desires and impulses that we have either we've catered to them and

[20:11]they've grown or they are natural by Allah we resort to step

[20:15]number three right using the intellect the judge and reason if we

[20:19]should engage in these actions and shaytan does not have any authority

[20:23]over your reasoning your reasoning is a gift provided by Allah but

[20:28]you have to what strive to use it properly you find us

[24:10]the devil even if you fell through all of them Allah says

[24:13]my doors of Mercy are still open come back to me repent

[24:18]Toba by the way means what to go back go back to

[24:23]who Allah turn your heart towards Allah in those moments of weakness

[24:29]and say Allah please forgive me I will go back to you

[24:32]but what make that as that sincere intention that I will not

[24:36]do this again right that I will not be tempted by the

[24:40]the devil again and thus you find my dear brothers and sisters

[24:48]let's go back to thoughts for a second there is actually one

[24:53]technique we're able to use we mentioned in the beginning and maybe

[24:56]I misled you a little bit that most of our thoughts are

[25:00]beyond our control but there are some techniques we can use and

[25:03]utilize to change the trajectory of our thoughts yes a lot of

[25:10]our thoughts are spontaneous but utilizing certain methods we're able to train

[25:15]our thoughts also you find if you change your Paradigm meaning if

[25:22]you change your knowledge regarding reality your thoughts begin changing how so

[25:29]sometimes we go through moments of weakness where we have thoughts of

[25:35]doing illicit actions Haram actions right we've all gone through these moments

[25:38]but do we ever go through moments where for example we're driving

[25:43]by a dumpster do you have you ever even once in your

[25:45]life just had the thought that let me go eat from that

[25:48]dumpster let me go see you know what kind of delicious food

[25:52]is awaiting there no right why not have you ever had the

[25:57]thought you know what let me go down in the sewers and

[25:59]see what kind of scents are waiting for me there very silly

[26:03]as such a thought ever occurred to you once in your life

[26:05]no why because something like that is so repulsive you wouldn't even

[26:11]think about it the imams this is how they would see sin

[26:16]when they see sin when we see sin what happens shaytan beautifies

[26:22]some of that sin and because of our lack of intellect and

[26:27]knowledge we're attracted to these sins even though many of these sins

[27:03]a thought would occur thus if you increase your mouth of Allah

[27:07]your understanding of sins and their realities your thoughts towards them would

[27:11]decrease that's one method in which you can train yourself there's a

[27:18]Hadith in which a companion came to rasulullah he tells them all

[27:24]rasulullah I find myself becoming a munafirk what do I do this

[27:29]individual moments before he had come to rasulullah he began having some

[27:36]doubts about the existence of Allah right from that left side of

[27:38]the heart shaytan was whispering he began having some doubts he didn't

[27:41]know how to address those doubts so that's why he came and

[29:24]what are your thoughts going to be how can I also succeed

[29:29]How can I get ahead right that's why the people you associate

[29:33]with determine who you become right it's of the utmost importance you

[29:39]choose very carefully and delicately who you associate with and thus you

[29:45]find the environment which you happen to be in decides what decides

[29:49]the kind of thoughts and desires you begin to have thus my

[31:07]puberty even before they become held accountable teach them prayer get them

[31:12]in the habit of praying you don't necessarily have to force them

[31:15]to pray but make prayer be associated with positive thoughts and likewise

[36:22]screams and cries of the children envelop the air he can't handle
