[0:04]it's a continuation of yesterday's ayat [Laughter] rajeem foreign oh woman my
[2:07]i [Applause] my foreign [Applause] m [Applause] [Applause] now [Music] one more
[5:33][Music] what allah thank you brother for that beautiful recitation of the
[6:17]quran on behalf of the nyc and the muslim youth connection i

[6:46]donations alhamdulillah we are looking for someone to help sponsor tonight's program
[6:49]with a 200 donation um someone has sponsored tonight's program please um
[6:54]let us recite surat al-fatiha for hajj rashid and one last announcement
[7:15]is from this night on until wednesday night please remember that we
[7:20]will begin our programs at 10 30 sharp in sha allah until
[7:22]around 11 and then we will have our layla in the main
[7:27]hall in sha allah end here um please help me welcome muhammad
[7:59][Music] [Music] the last few nights we spoke about individuals who spent
[8:56]their entire lives in righteousness on the right path but only to
[9:02]slip and fall and change towards the end of their lives and
[9:08]we call this having a bad ending and last night we spoke
[9:11]about the factors that lead to surul factors that may contribute to
[9:16]me changing and drifting away from the path of god after having
[9:21]a life of virtue and righteousness and we mentioned three factors last
[9:25]night if you remember we said number one sins sins they blacken
[9:31]our heart and once our hearts are blackened we can no longer
[9:35]see the truth and recognize the signs of god and thus we
[9:39]may deviate because of our sins number two we said was greed
[9:44]the love of the dunya and greed can also lead to the
[9:47]same effect of deviation and number three we mentioned ignorance when we
[9:53]are not educated about our faith about our religion that can also
[9:57]lead to deviation and our creed now tonight i want to speak
[10:03]about two other points the first point what are the factors and
[10:07]that and the acts that we can do that can protect us
[10:11]from last night we said there are acts that lead to al-aqs
[10:16]that may lead to me deviating tonight i want to speak about
[10:21]the acts that protect us from deviation if you do them god
[10:24]will protect your faith until the last second god will maintain your
[10:28]iman and faith and it will be strong and permanent what are
[10:35]those acts and number two we will also speak about the opposite
[10:39]of it's having a good ending individuals that had a life of
[10:45]sin but in the end they changed and they turned to allah
[10:48]azza they repented and they turned into remarkable human beings so let's
[10:52]begin with the first point what are the acts that we can
[10:57]do that protect us from i am and now i want my
[11:02]iman to long to be long lasting till the last second that
[11:05]i die i don't want to change i don't want to drift
[11:07]we never know what happens so how can i guarantee and ensure
[11:12]that i don't change in the future four things brothers and sisters
[11:15]i will prescribe to you as the bait have taught us if
[11:20]you maintain these four things and you are mindful of them allah
[11:26]promises you that he will protect your iman he will protect you
[11:29]from any misguidance for the rest of your life number one the
[11:36]first thing is praying on time the five daily prayers they have
[11:42]a specified time so some people think they're two they're the same
[11:48]things the same thing it's the two raka's that we pray in
[11:53]the morning the time begins when there is whiteness on the horizon
[11:58]it's called right now astronomical or sometimes some consider as the nautical
[12:03]twilight it happens about an hour and a half this is just
[12:06]a rough estimate before sunrise that's when you pray salat in fajr
[12:09]that's the time of fajr and it ends with sunrise so if
[12:14]you pray after sunrise you have to pray you missed it so
[12:20]this is the time for salat is what midday it's midday so
[12:25]today it's about it's not 12 o'clock there's a calculation so it's
[12:29]almost about let's say 1 30 p.m and it changes based on
[12:33]the seasons and it ends with sunset whenever sunset is this is
[12:37]when the time for salat finishes and finally begins with sunset or
[12:45]15 minutes 15 minutes after sunset based on the different opinions and
[12:51]it lasts till midnight now midnight once again we don't mean 12
[12:54]exactly 12 a.m there's a specific calculation it could be 20 minutes
[12:57]before or after you can find it on the planners the prior
[13:01]time planners this is the time for maghrib now if you had
[13:06]an excuse say for example you were sick or you were traveling
[13:11]or you overslept then the time for maghrib would extend until fajr
[13:15]so we'd have another five or four more hours but that's only
[13:18]like extra time for someone that had a valid excuse of not
[13:23]praying it you know from maghrib to midnight so anyway our five
[13:28]daily prayers they have a specified time you have to pray it
[13:32]in those times you can pray it whenever you want so you
[13:34]can pray it right when you hear that at 1 30 or
[13:38]you can pray at 2 30 5 30 as long as you
[13:42]pray it before sunset however if you want god to protect your
[13:48]faith for the long run and to make sure that you don't
[13:52]drift and deviate if you want god to protect you from the
[13:57]traditions tell us pray your salat on time when you hear the
[14:04]adhan do not delay it and let me share with you a
[14:08]hadith says that the angel of death is a very interesting hadith
[14:11]the angel of death says he says this he told the prophet
[14:17]every day i look at the faces of every human being five
[14:23]times he looks at our faces you and i every day five
[14:27]times now how does he look at our faces he actually comes
[14:30]and physically looks that's possible or maybe allah has given him a
[14:34]supernatural surveillance system right where he can see us from his monitors
[14:40]only allah knows so the point is he sees every single one
[14:43]of us he looks at us five times a day that's all
[14:49]he says says and he gave no explanation why what what the
[14:52]prophet he explains what the angel of death meant the prophet says
[14:57]that the angel of death looks at our faces five times a
[15:03]day he says those are the five times of prayer so when
[15:05]you hear adam five prayers when it's time to pray at the
[15:13]beginning of time he looks at us why what is he looking
[15:15]for he's looking for something the prophet says he wants to see
[15:20]are you praying on time or not every single day brothers and
[15:24]sisters of our life the angel of death knows exactly how much
[15:28]i'm gonna live right he has the exact hours and seconds and
[15:32]days and months and years that's all a system in front of
[15:35]him every day he looks at me five times during the prayer
[15:39]times he wants to see am i praying on time or not
[15:42]and then the prophet says if he finds that you're praying on
[15:49]time to something excellent then the angel of death makes a promise
[15:51]he tells you you can't hear him of course but he makes
[15:55]a promise he says as long as you maintain your prayer on
[16:03]time i will make sure that once i come to take your
[16:07]soul i will protect you from deviation last night what did we
[16:10]say we gave two examples one was of the prostrator of bani
[16:16]israel of how he was such a righteous individual but in the
[16:18]end why he committed haram sins he killed and the angel of
[16:21]and and the ebilis the shaytan came to him when he was
[16:24]about to get executed and he told him this believe in god
[16:27]and bow to me and i will save you remember that story
[16:28]i don't know if how many of you were here that was
[16:31]a story i mentioned yesterday so in the end shaytaan was able
[16:34]to trick him so that he died a disbeliever prostrating to shaytan
[16:38]so the shaytan will come after you in those final seconds because
[16:41]it is its last hope to misguide you when the angel of
[16:45]death comes to drag your soul to take your soul the other
[16:48]story you mention of that merchant if you remember where his sons
[16:51]asked him to say the shahada detain but he couldn't he would
[16:54]just say you know don't rip my papers because the shaytan was
[16:58]threatening him with his papers of his of his assets so the
[17:02]angel of that says if you promise me that you will pray
[17:08]on time i will also promise you something i will protect you
[17:11]from the from the iblees from shaytan when i come to take
[17:15]your soul so the angel of death says i promise if you
[17:19]promise if you promise to pray on time i promise to protect
[17:23]you to protect your faith and i will not allow iblis shaytan
[17:25]to come and misguide you when i have come to take your
[17:30]soul and i will help you say the shahada remember the story
[17:32]the sons they asked their father to say the shahada detain but
[17:35]he couldn't the angel of death says i will help you with
[17:37]that so imam al-sadiq says that praying on time allah azzawajal will
[17:43]guarantee you that you die of that the shaytan will have no
[17:47]access to you so make sure you do pray on time make
[17:49]sure that you you know you're very mindful of this and you're
[17:52]very serious about salah on time don't delay your salas every day
[17:58]two hours three hours five hours seven hours try your best and
[18:00]the shay and the angel of death he will protect you from
[18:03]the shaytan and imam salam one day he leaves the palace this
[18:08]was when he was the crown prince of alma moon he leaves
[18:11]the palace he leaves his house and he's going to the palace
[18:14]with one of his companions his companion was a man by the
[18:20]name of ibrahim he says we left the house of the imam
[18:24]and we're going to the palace it's a five minute walk the
[18:26]imam was going to greet some of his cousins the taliban they
[18:31]were the descendants of imam ali al-islam so his cousins he says
[18:35]in the middle of the way the imam start to look at
[18:39]the sky and then he found a tree he just went under
[18:41]the tree and then he told me do adhan just randomly outside
[18:44]i told him what do you want to do he told me
[18:47]it's salah i want to pray he told me but you have
[18:51]guests waiting for you let's go to the palace and we'll pray
[18:54]jama'a there the imam told him may allah forgive you never delay
[18:59]your salah the imam you know through just seeing the sun and
[19:03]the angle and what now you can know what time it is
[19:05]to pray the imam realized that salah time he wanted to pray
[19:08]right then and right there even if he's outside in the street
[19:10]he told him never delay your salah always pray on time because
[19:14]the imams knew how instrumental praying on time is for your iman
[19:19]when you die so they never delayed the salah he prayed with
[19:23]that with his companion and then they went to greet their friends
[19:26]so they were very serious about this and i have seen scholars
[19:33]brothers and sisters who also are very serious about their their you
[19:36]know they want to pray on time amongst them is my grandfather
[19:42]said i remember when i was when i was growing up in
[19:43]california we grew up in my grandfather's house so you know in
[19:48]los angeles the the distances are very far here you want to
[19:51]go to the restaurant it's a five minute it's a five minute
[19:54]like right right you want to go to walmart or wherever it's
[19:57]like a five ten minute right and this is a nema that
[20:01]you have everything here is close if you have to go and
[20:03]visit a friend whose house is 20 minutes away you know you
[20:06]take your sleeping bag with you here in dearborn because that's oh
[20:09]that's you know i'm going out of state out of out of
[20:12]the country out of the city in california you want to go
[20:15]get gas you have to 25 minute ride sometime so distances are
[20:21]far so anyway we used to go with him to different places
[20:22]we used to go let's say to you know a shopping store
[20:26]or to the me was wherever we're going he said sometimes i
[20:30]remember we're on the way back and there's like 15 minutes 20
[20:32]minutes we're on the freeway all of a sudden he pulls over
[20:35]the middle of the freeway he pulls over he takes out his
[20:39]prayer rook and he puts it on the shoulder of the freeway
[20:43]and he wants to pray i tell him grandfather it's 15 minutes
[20:47]we're going to get home he says never delay your salah even
[20:51]if it means stop whatever you're doing and pray yeah so let
[20:55]me just i'll get home 10 minutes late what's the big deal
[20:58]he would carry his prayer rug and his turbo has everywhere he
[21:04]went i never saw him delay never ever no way even once
[21:06]i remember there was a flight and the flight was exactly with
[21:09]lord time he prayed on the tarmac this was in the middle
[21:12]east where they take you with the bus you've seen the bus
[21:14]took him down he said i'm going to stand and pray by
[21:17]the airplane and there's even a picture of him on the tarmac
[21:19]he prayed salah real quick never would he delay why i remember
[21:24]he was asked once why why is he just for 10 minutes
[21:27]20 minutes we're not saying it's you have remember we said you
[21:29]have five six seven hours especially for lord you have about seven
[21:33]hours to pray sauter it's okay for you to delay he would
[21:36]always say i want to ensure that i die a mutmen i
[21:40]want to ensure myself that i preserve my iman and that's why
[21:44]i want to keep my promise i want to fulfill my promise
[21:47]to always pray on time so this is number one brothers and
[21:49]sisters be mindful of your salah pray on time how long does
[21:54]prayer take i know for some of us prayer is a burden
[21:57]it's difficult it's boring and it's difficult maybe one that one night
[22:00]i'll speak about prayer and how we can make it a little
[22:03]more fun and interesting no you know don't get any wild ideas
[22:06]while you're smoking that's not what i'm talking about argila while praying
[22:10]even though that would be actually something to consider but anyway so
[22:15]what was i saying even though it's a burden to many of
[22:24]us for many of us but how many minutes does salah take
[22:27]weather sisters each rakah takes one minute you have 17 units every
[22:31]day 17 minutes is too much brothers and sisters we sit and
[22:36]watch three hour movies sometimes right two hour movies and then 17
[22:40]minutes is a burden i mean if we were talking about a
[22:44]two-hour prayer yes it's a burden but 17 minutes is not too
[22:47]much and they're not all together they're distributed and you know we
[22:51]do them three times during the day so try your best to
[22:53]pray and to pray to untie because you're the one that's going
[22:58]to benefit it will protect you from this is number one number
[23:01]two a second factor that ah bait have taught us a second
[23:05]act that bates have taught us that protects you from and allah
[23:11]makes sure guarantees that you will not deviate before you die is
[23:17]to maintain tasbih how many of you know what tasb it's a
[23:26]highly recommended zika brothers and sisters it's a remembrance of allah basically
[23:31]you remember allah a hundred times 34 times you say allahu akbar
[23:36]so you take your sabha allahu akbar allahu akbar 34 times and
[23:43]then 33 times you say alhamdulillah alhamdulillah alhamdulillah you're praising allah and
[23:49]number three you say subhanallah 33 times which is also your glorifying
[23:54]allah so 100 times you say all these together but you do
[23:58]it in this sequence 34 allahu akbar 33 alhamdulillah and 33 subhanallah
[24:05]this is called tasbih why is it called because when the prophet
[24:11]introduced it he first taught it to fatima it was a gift
[24:17]to fatima ali that he taught her he told her every day
[24:21]and then the imams they taught their shiites that you should also
[24:27]do the hadith speak so highly of this if you see the
[24:32]hadith you will never leave it for the rest of your life
[24:33]i'll show you i'll share with you one hadith the imam i
[24:39]think it's in one hadith the reward of tasbih is greater than
[24:46]praying one thousand raka's you know how long it takes to pray
[24:52]one thousand records to put this into perspective leila whether tonight tomorrow
[24:56]and the day after many of you are planning on praying the
[24:59]one hundred raka's right how long does that take it takes two
[25:02]hours right for some people three hours 100 units like as we
[25:08]pray during this takes two minutes of your time allah says i
[25:11]will give you the reward of one thousand like us and it
[25:15]just takes what two minutes do not brothers and sisters and never
[25:18]forget about tattoos when do you do it at two times now
[25:22]you can do it anytime you could do it right now when
[25:25]you're sitting but there are two specific times that wait for a
[25:37]minute or two right it takes you a minute and a half
[25:40]and some people like they do it in 20 seconds i've seen
[25:45]them but try to do a little slower so that the words
[25:47]the you know you pronounce the letters correctly so it takes you
[25:51]two minutes but it's worth it because the reward is one thousand
[25:54]like has and i've also seen a hadith imam he says if
[25:58]you have pain if you have pain whether it's psychological pain or
[26:02]physical pain tasbihati zara can help in reducing that pain so teach
[26:07]yourself to do tasbah after each salah and before you sleep when
[26:12]you go to bed now we're always on this before we go
[26:16]to bed right or like this and then it falls on our
[26:19]head a minute how many of you that's happened to you so
[26:22]instead of being on this for an hour be on this for
[26:24]58 minutes and give two minutes for taste and you will get
[26:28]the reward of how many alakaz one thousand like as these are
[26:32]not my words they're words of islam in one tradition tells one
[26:36]of his companions that we ah bait not only do we do
[26:40]testimony but we even instruct our children to do tasbah because that's
[26:46]how important it is it's so easy right it takes you two
[26:50]minutes even you'll see small kids in the houses of the imams
[26:52]five six years old they're holding the sabhas and they're saying allahu
[26:55]akbar alhamdulillah subhanallah so then he tells his companion you also make
[27:00]sure you do this he says after that you will never be
[27:12]disappointed allah will protect your iman you want that protection of your
[27:16]iman you want allah azza to preserve your faith in your iman
[27:19]until the last second of your life the imam says deutsch bihati
[27:23]zara so this is number two number one we said pray on
[27:27]time that ensures allah protects your iman until the last second number
[27:31]two was tasbihatu number three is a very easy one and i'm
[27:34]sure some of you already do it read this dua now it's
[27:40]actually a verse in the quran but it's a dua it's in
[27:44]suratul i think where allah is this is a verse in the
[27:57]quran but it's actually the content of it the believers say oh
[28:00]allah do not deviate our hearts do not let our hearts drift
[28:05]after you have guided us so protect us basically you are the
[28:23]most generous and you are the greatest so make this a habit
[28:27]brothers and sisters to always read this verse it's basically you're asking
[28:32]allah you're seeking his guidance ya allah make my iman permanent so
[28:37]that i never drift so that i never deviate ask allah to
[28:40]do that for you many times we forget about allah when we
[28:42]have problems in our lives when we have wishes we forget to
[28:46]ask allah to help us ask him and allah will help you
[28:50]he will never let you down so one of the best times
[28:53]to read this verse brothers and sisters is in your onut we
[28:56]all pray the five daily prayers how many notes do we do
[28:59]a day five right each prayer has one kunut there's five prayers
[29:03]five notes is when we do this read this short it takes
[29:08]you five seconds he will grant you that he will make sure
[29:19]that your iman will be permanent iman it won't be like as
[29:23]obey remember we mentioned the example of a zubair who was a
[29:27]movement was a believer for so many years of his lives but
[29:32]only to what to falter and fall down and fight against imam
[29:33]ali al-islam and he was killed fighting imam ali alayhi so this
[29:39]is number three do this dua every day and one of the
[29:42]good times to do it this dua to read it is in
[29:47]your kunut and finally number four also a dua that is one
[29:52]of the bots of the salah read this dua every day it
[29:55]will take you 10 to 15 seconds i have personally made it
[30:01]a habit to read it after every single salah it's one of
[30:05]his companions one of his companions by the name of a daily
[30:09]he comes one day and he tells him i heard some of
[30:13]your students some of your the narrators you know the companions of
[30:17]imam i heard that they were saying you had taught them that
[30:20]there are two types of iman the first type of iman is
[30:25]the iman that is it will not change it's there permanently you're
[30:30]now and it stays forever allah gives it to you for good
[30:35]so this is what the imams call iman this is the iman
[30:41]that is there to stay but then there's a second type of
[30:46]iman the second iman the imams caller this is temporary iman you
[30:50]are given this iman for a few years but then it is
[30:53]taken away from you like as zubair was a mutman for a
[30:56]few years and then it was taken away from him individuals who
[30:59]were muhammad's believers for a while in their lives and then they
[31:01]turned their backs they also had iman but their iman was a
[31:05]temporary iman it was not long lasting so this companion says after
[31:11]i heard there are two types of iman i want to have
[31:15]the first type rasulullah i want to have the permanent iman i
[31:17]don't want to change ever what do i do i will teach
[31:24]you a dua if you read this after every prayer i will
[31:29]guarantee you that you will never deviate allah azzawajal will always keep
[31:34]that guidance and that noor lit in your heart he tells them
[31:37]what's the dua the dua is just two lines he tells them
[31:43]say i have accepted allah being my lord.
[31:48]and i have accepted and submitted to muhammad being the messenger of
[31:53]god of god and my prophet wabil islami and islam is my
[31:59]religion i have submitted to that and the rest of the nine
[32:18]imams are all my imams that i seek nearness to allah through
[32:23]them and then say allah it takes you 15 to 20 seconds
[32:30]to read it if you read it fast if you memorize it
[32:31]and then you say allah i have accepted them being my leaders
[32:38]my imams so please make me make me a good follower of
[32:41]them make them satisfied with me sha allah i'll try my best
[32:46]to please them so make them satisfied with me and imam assad
[32:48]tells his companion if you make it a habit to read this
[32:54]dua after every salah allah will guarantee that your heart will never
[32:57]drift you will always be on the right path the path of
[33:00]alum bates so these are four things brothers and sisters try to
[33:03]do them they're not that hard honestly especially the last three number
[33:08]one pray on time number two takes you two minutes allah gives
[33:12]you the reward of one thousand number three was that and number
[33:19]four was this uh dua you prayed after you mention it after
[33:25]each salah if anyone's interested i can text it to you we
[33:28]can send it in any way try to do these brothers and
[33:33]sisters because we never know what could happen with all the examples
[33:36]we have throughout history allah is trying to teach us a lesson
[33:41]that you never know what could happen and you never know what
[33:46]allah azza has in store for us so all of this brothers
[33:49]and sisters was about what was about individuals who reached the highest
[33:55]levels of iman and righteousness and taqwa but then they fell to
[33:59]rock bottom on the contrary we have the opposite examples as well
[34:05]the first example we called it means bad in arabic ataba means
[34:13]ending they had a bad ending after a good life on the
[34:15]contrary we have people that have husnil means good they had a
[34:21]good ending we have so many stories of individuals and examples who
[34:24]their entire lives they were far away from allah they were you
[34:28]know drowning in a life of sin and disobedience and immorality some
[34:33]of them were enemies of god and of rasulullah and of the
[34:36]imams but they managed to turn things around and they repented to
[34:41]allah and they turned into remarkable spectacular human beings remember the first
[34:47]but the point of of that was a warning do not feel
[34:51]too proud about your belief about your iman because you don't know
[34:53]if it's going to last that's why you should do these four
[34:58]things that i mentioned but at the same time we shouldn't lose
[35:00]hope we shouldn't lose hope if someone was far away from allah
[35:05]azza it's never too late to change it's never too late to
[35:08]go back to allah sometimes if you know certain figures in history
[35:11]who were the closest servants of god if you read about their
[35:15]history how far they were from allah and the sins that they
[35:21]did you would never believe that they were able to transform themselves
[35:26]into angels let me give you two examples the first example is
[35:30]mentioned in a hadith by one of the companions of the sixth
[35:34]imam assad his name is he says i used to have a
[35:39]friend my friend was someone that worked in the government of bani
[35:42]umayya bani was the government that killed imam hussain so very oppressive
[35:48]government and he had a high position and he used his power
[35:50]and position to steal money he was very corrupt he probably had
[35:54]killed people every halaam act in the book he had done one
[35:58]day he calls me up and he tells me i want to
[36:02]see your imam jaffra muhammad can you give me an appointment can
[36:06]you get me an appointment he says okay he goes to the
[36:08]imam he tells him this man he's someone that works for the
[36:10]government of beni umayya so he's a vladim he says he wants
[36:16]to see you the imam says let him come when he comes
[36:19]to him he tells him i am someone that worked for my
[36:22]entire life my resume is all black don't even look at it
[36:26]i've done every halal i am the one that have enabled the
[36:30]mean you know if it wasn't for just the average workers and
[36:33]and the subordinates of the lalamin they wouldn't be able to oppress
[36:39]people so he tells him my entire life it's black now he's
[36:41]retired now i want to repent can i or is it too
[36:46]late i've just done too much and imam musa first of all
[36:48]he was angered he tells him it's because of people like you
[36:51]that my grandfather hussein was killed you are the ones that enable
[36:55]yazid and people like that so first he rebukes him well and
[37:00]he tells him if it wasn't for you we and bates would
[37:02]not be sidelined it's because you people go and you start um
[37:06]you know you you you you go to the violin and because
[37:11]they give you money and they give you dunya you start flattering
[37:13]them people forget about a little bit after he rebukes him but
[37:17]he tells them about however do not lose hope because there is
[37:20]a way for you to repent it's not an easy way but
[37:23]if you are sincere i will teach you a way in which
[37:26]allah azzawajal will forgive you he said what do i do yes
[37:30]tell me i don't want to easy way out some people want
[37:32]an easy way out he didn't want an easy way out he
[37:35]just wanted to please allah he said tell me what should i
[37:38]do he told him go and search in your possessions whatever you
[37:42]acquired through bani umayya through stealing from people and confiscating people's people's
[37:47]money and wealth and land and whatever you made through bani umayya
[37:52]through your position through power get rid of it if you know
[37:57]the rightful owner give it back to him if not give it
[37:57]as charity that's something very big this man owned a mansion lands
[38:02]livestock he was wealthy all of it was so the imam was
[38:08]giving a very very tough task he nodded his head he said
[38:12]okay the imam then told him if you do that i jaffa
[38:17]muhammad i'm the grandson of the prophet i never lie he told
[38:20]him if you do that i promise you allah will take you
[38:25]to paradise and he will forgive all your sins if you promise
[38:27]to do that then i promise that allah will take you to
[38:32]paradise the man leaves his friend ali ibn abi hamza and he
[38:35]says for a while i never heard about him until after a
[38:39]while i went to visit him i went to knock his door
[38:42]i see there's another person living here where is my friend he
[38:46]moved so he says i start to ask about him i notice
[38:50]he's living in the slums now after having a mansion he's living
[38:55]in the slums it's barely you can even barely call it a
[38:57]house he says i want i knocked the door he couldn't answer
[39:01]he couldn't let me in he just started he was speaking to
[39:05]me from behind the door so i told him aren't you going
[39:06]to let me in he said i can't why i don't have
[39:09]clothes he says why don't you have clothes he says because your
[39:14]master jaffa muhammad sadaq told me to get rid of everything that
[39:19]was even my clothing was how i got rid of it this
[39:24]man was able to transform from a violin who every penny he
[39:30]had every bite that he used to eat was haram he was
[39:33]willing to give his mansion and even his clothing this is the
[39:37]true repentance so he said i went i got him i bought
[39:41]him some clothing so then i can come and sit with him
[39:42]i told him what happened he told me i will repent it
[39:46]to allah i did what imam told me down to the last
[39:50]advice of animal assad i don't know anything now in this world
[39:53]he said i was so happy that this man repented in this
[39:58]beautiful way he said a couple of days later i heard that
[40:00]he's very sick he's very sick and he could die he says
[40:03]i went to visit him i noticed he's on his deathbed about
[40:08]to die and then while he was speaking to me all of
[40:12]a sudden he started to look at the sky and he told
[40:15]me go and tell ali your master that i could see his
[40:20]promise fulfilled in front of me i can see jannah in front
[40:23]of me because when you die allah shows you what will happen
[40:26]to you in the next life he says i can see paradise
[40:30]right now he says after he said that he died he died
[40:35]a pure individual and he went straight to paradise after living an
[40:38]entire life of haram of not just oppression which is the worst
[40:44]sin he transformed in a couple of days and he died a
[40:48]pure individual and he went straight to jannah says i was so
[40:51]happy i quickly left this house i went to the house of
[40:54]imam i wanted to break the news to him he said the
[40:59]imam beat me to the news he told me your friend we
[41:01]have kept our promise he just died and he has been taken
[41:05]to paradise says this is exactly why i have come to tell
[41:09]you exactly that so this story illustrates that no matter how evil
[41:12]you are even if you're a valim if you are willing to
[41:15]go back to allah allah will accept you and there are people
[41:20]that actually did it and that's why imam ali tells us never
[41:24]make an a sinner lose hope you see someone he commits every
[41:28]haram he drinks alcohol he sells alcohol he commits every halaam in
[41:33]the book never make him despondent never make him lose hope tell
[41:36]him you know what you're going to hell no there's people worse
[41:39]than him that made it to heaven so many people with their
[41:46]entire life they lived a life of sin never ever they would
[41:50]remember allah once but towards the end of their lives they changed
[41:53]and they went back to and allah embraced them so this is
[41:58]one example and number two the greatest probably example of a deviant
[42:04]human being who turned into an angel at home feels like muharram
[42:14]is close brothers and sisters i'm sure all of you have heard
[42:22]it if i want to introduce him before he would be the
[42:31]devil was the devil he was a man that his entire life
[42:33]he lived with yazid and his his flesh and bone had grew
[42:38]on the money of yazid muhammad he was a commander in the
[42:45]army of his history was black if you were to see him
[42:48]before not only would you say he's going to hell but he's
[42:50]going to be in the lowest levels of hell because of the
[42:54]oppression and the haram that he had done but on the day
[42:57]of ashura it just takes one day brothers and sisters and he
[43:00]wasn't young he was old so he probably spent 60 years in
[43:03]all it took was one day the day of ashura he saw
[43:09]himself he was a mighty companion a mighty warrior his his companion
[43:14]saw him the soldiers he was shivering a soldier is it supposed
[43:18]to shiver what are you afraid of they told him why do
[43:20]you shiver he said i see myself between hell and heaven yazid
[43:28]yes maybe this is heaven on earth but after that i will
[43:32]be taken to hell because i'm fighting the grandson of rasulullah and
[43:35]hussain is the true heaven i see myself between hell and heaven
[43:39]and then he says and i will never choose anything over jannah
[43:47]never he abandons it's not easy brothers and sisters when you are
[43:51]your entire life you're with a group you just abandon them and
[43:54]you join the enemy it's not it's not easy that requires so
[43:57]much courage that's why it was so tough he was shivering it
[44:00]was much easier for him to fight the hard the hard way
[44:05]out the hard choice was to not fight against imam hussain so
[44:11]he abandoned his people he abandoned the troops of yazid and he
[44:17]headed towards imam hussain when he came to the camp of imam
[44:22]hussain it's so hard to read the story without crying because it
[44:24]just touches the heart so much he came down from his horse
[44:29]he put his sword aside and he was walking when you walk
[44:33]to the enemy that means you come with peace you don't want
[44:37]to fight he came and has he approached the camp of imam
[44:41]hussain the imam came out this is her has he come to
[44:45]fight but has put his head down like this because he's so
[44:50]ashamed he can't even look at the imam and the imam tells
[44:53]him lift your head let me see who you are he tells
[44:58]him i can't i'm too embarrassed and ashamed he tells him lift
[45:00]your head i want to see who you are he tells him
[45:05]let me introduce myself he says i am the one that caused
[45:12]this entire problem of kerbela fourteen hundred years we cry for imam
[45:15]hussain it was oh that caused it can you imagine what type
[45:19]of devil he was that he was the one that prevented hussein
[45:23]from continuing to kufa he stopped him in karbala and this is
[45:27]where he was killed so he told him i am the one
[45:30]that caused this so he's telling him i'm a very bad person
[45:32]you know i admit it i'm the worst person i'm the cause
[45:36]of this entire problem that you're in now but i have repented
[45:40]i am sorry i am remorseful fahelli men tawba will you forgive
[45:46]me imagine if someone his entire life was your enemy and he
[45:49]fought against you your entire life and he caused the greatest calamity
[45:52]in your life and that he just shows up one day and
[45:55]he says i'm sorry will you find it in your heart to
[45:56]forgive him brothers and sisters and imam did not hesitate right away
[46:02]he said if you truly repent to allah allah will forgive you
[46:06]right away he did not tell him no but if but my
[46:10]kids are starving but my kids are going to die because imam
[46:13]said none of that because his heart was so deep and he
[46:17]told them if you do tell but allah will forgive you he
[46:19]quickly comes and joins the camp and imam hussain and to make
[46:23]up for his mistake he says i want to be the first
[46:28]one that goes and fights today and he was the first martyr
[46:30]under the banner of imam hussain on the day of ashura the
[46:35]martyrs the shuhada of karbala when we visit imam hussain what do
[46:41]we tell them we tell them we wish we were with you
[46:44]don't you wish you always imam hussain with his companions we say
[46:48]this even to whom even to now he loves such a beautiful
[46:52]legacy that you and i wish we were half as good as
[46:56]her we were one-tenth as good as an evil individual for most
[47:00]of his life but one day that he changed and he sided
[47:04]with allah with adul bait allah gave him eternal and eternal beautiful
[47:11]legacy because he supports it now when we go to kirby we
[47:15]visit imam hussain we also visit the shrine of brothers and sisters
[47:20]i don't care how great you are but when you die you're
[47:22]not going to get a shrine even if you're lucky who's going
[47:25]to visit your shrine your kids and your grandkids your great-grandkids don't
[47:29]even know your name most of you don't even know the name
[47:33]of your grandfather your great-grandfather if you do your great-grandfather you don't
[47:36]know him you know your grandfather's grandfather allah you forget about them
[47:42]1400 letters 1400 years later you and i go and visit a
[47:44]man who spent his entire life in evil why because he managed
[47:49]to transform from that evil human being into an angel this was
[47:55]brothers and sisters every single one of us can do it no
[47:59]matter how evil you think you may be no matter how deep
[48:02]in the life and sin you may have drowned you will never
[48:05]be worse than her because at least you love the bait at
[48:09]least you didn't oppress bait oppressed imam hussain himself and his family
[48:13]but yet allah azza forgave him what do we call this when
[48:18]you have a beautiful good ending so many tells the sun imam
[48:23]has to never make an a sinner lose hope because no matter
[48:26]how much sins he had done there is always a way out
[48:29]even if it's on the last day of his life so we
[48:33]should never lose hope brothers and sisters and what's a better occasion
[48:36]tonight tomorrow for the next six nights depending on the different opinions
[48:40]it's going to be daily this is the time to seek repentance
[48:45]from allah and tell him ya allah i have been so far
[48:47]from you come like put your head down tell me allah i'm
[48:52]ashamed because of how negligent i was with you you gave me
[48:55]so much naan you gave me so much bounties and benefactions but
[48:58]i was never thankful for you allah now i want to repent
[49:02]to you please ya allah embrace me and forgive me of my
[49:05]deeds and allah azzawajal insha allah will forgive you with that brothers
