[6:24]for having me over to you inshallah for our final session foreign
[7:15]in the name of allah the beneficent the merciful the gracious the
[7:20]almighty all praises be to allah creator of mankind master of the
[7:25]day of judgment respected brothers and sisters in islam assalamu alaikum in
[7:35]these blessed days and in these blessed nights and what is remaining
[7:41]of the holy month of as we approach the month of allah
[7:47]ramadan we ask allah subhanahu wa tahalah to give us the strength
[7:52]and the power and the ability to fast the days of shah
[7:59]ramadan and to perform our worships to the best of our ability
[8:04]insha'allah allah says in the holy quran return back to your lord
[8:34]well pleased and pleasing him and enter among my righteous servants enter
[8:41]my paradise it is said that the holy prophet sallallahu alaihi one
[8:48]time saw a group of men gathered so he asks them as
[8:55]to why they are gathered in this large crowd they replied to
[9:00]him saying there is a man who's getting buried it's his funeral
[9:06]the prophet sallallahu alaihi it is said he walks closer to where
[9:12]they are burying this man and he sits next to the grave
[9:17]on his knees and it is said that he cried and he
[9:24]cried so much that his clothes were soaking from his tears he
[9:32]then says my people for a day like this get yourselves ready
[9:43]who also said in one hadith that when the believer dies his
[9:53]resurrection begins there might be a misconception many people have that the
[10:06]afterlife begins when the day of judgment arrives when really and truly
[10:14]the the after life begins with death as simple as that the
[10:20]first stage of the afterlife is the death of the human being
[10:24]death brothers and sisters is something that we cannot run away from
[10:30]death is an absolute certainty in life everyone dies there's no exception
[10:36]uh who you are no matter what position you've reached no matter
[10:43]what status you've gained no matter how much money you have no
[10:46]matter how great you are we are all going to leave this
[10:54]physical realm and it's pretty clear unfortunately throughout this pandemic and throughout
[11:00]this these times we live in we we see this in our
[11:03]eyes on tv even we might have family members friends we might
[11:07]know who passed away all from different age groups because of this
[11:13]deadly virus and if you think of it is there anyone any
[11:19]person any individual in this whole creation in this whole existence in
[11:26]this that his life or her life is more valuable and of
[11:37]importance than the infallible imam in rasulallah of course not i think
[11:44]this is something we can all agree upon yet we see that
[11:50]the prophets and the imams their time came to an end they
[12:00]left this physical materialistic world and traveled to the metaphysical world allah
[12:07]sent the angel which is the angel of death to take their
[12:13]souls away and these are the most greatest of people rasulullah the
[12:19]best creation of allah no doubt our seventh imam imam he was
[12:31]once standing at a grave site and it is said that he
[12:35]mentions this hadith indeed something that ends with this referring to death
[12:44]is worthy of its beginning being spent in abstinence and indeed something
[12:50]that begins with this is worthy of its end being feared with
[12:54]apprehension would take the opportunity in moments like these when there's death
[13:06]occasions when they see a funeral when they are near a grave
[13:11]to teach the people by giving them some lessons some words of
[13:18]wisdom to reflect and to contemplate about the scene of death the
[13:22]washing of the body the grave being done getting ready just for
[13:27]the body to be buried the large crowd of people people mourning
[13:36]and crying on their beloved ones this these images stick in the
[13:43]back of our heads and perhaps they are a reminder for us
[13:48]dear brothers and sisters that one day it is us that will
[13:59]be inside of that grave this body we see in front of
[14:05]us it once had dreams just like us it had its wishes
[14:12]its goals its hopes its ambitions but allah decided for its time
[14:18]to come to an end just like every other person that has
[14:22]lived in this dunya in this scene imam is telling us that
[14:35]this whole dunya we dream of and we work and live for
[14:41]can be summarized in this moment next to the grave this is
[14:45]the final destination as we mentioned previously when one is placed in
[14:51]this new home of his or hers in the same state they
[14:56]were once in with only three cloths wrapping around their body with
[15:04]nothing but their actions their ahmad in front of allah subhanallah that's
[15:10]the only thing allah takes into consideration this is the reality of
[15:19]man he was created from clay and will return into the clay
[15:24]this grave is his new home from the time being until the
[15:30]day of judgment and where each and every one of us will
[15:34]be held accountable and fully responsible for the actions and the deeds
[15:42]we performed in this dunya let them be good or bad this
[15:47]is the final call from god when it's too late to change
[15:55]the outcome it's too late to change the results kalas the result
[16:01]the conclusion is set you cannot change it but there is one
[16:06]thing you can change that being the final preparations before the call
[16:16]from gods what you do before you reach this final call from
[16:23]allah subhanahu wata'ala when your time is up if we accumulate a
[16:28]list of the most important priorities we have in our life i
[16:34]am sure many of us will realize that we have prioritized the
[16:41]wrong items now a common list of these priorities we might have
[16:45]or our youth might have is for example to make money to
[16:50]have a good job to buy a mansion to buy yourself a
[16:55]luxurious car to reach a social status to shop to attend these
[17:01]large social gatherings to obtaining a social status while all of these
[17:07]might be of importance and valuable and they're permissible as long as
[17:11]you do not do anything haram allah doesn't say you can't you
[17:16]know buy things and achieve your goals and dreams but has to
[17:21]be in the proper manner the issue brothers and sisters is when
[17:26]we recognize these things we mentioned above all else when in reality
[17:34]if we look at all of the above all of what i
[17:39]mentioned what is the most important that might come up to you
[17:45]the most important is none of the above the most important is
[17:54]simply time especially the time of our youth and our young adolescent
[18:02]the second it took for you to hear me right now is
[18:07]gone the minute it took for you to hear me is gone
[18:08]it's not going to return it's not going to come back these
[18:13]moments you will never get back it's not like a football game
[18:16]where at when 90 minutes uh pass the ref is going to
[18:19]give some stoppage time some extra time no allah is not going
[18:25]to tell you five hours before he sends israel to take your
[18:29]soul and add that stoppage time for you to do whatever good
[18:34]you can that time is limited therefore it goes to show without
[18:38]a shadow of doubt that it is vital and important for us
[18:45]to organize our timetables and ask ourselves as to where this time
[18:49]is being spent that's why allah says in the holy quran and
[19:02]never say of anything indeed i will do that tomorrow and do
[19:09]not postpone what you have until another day this ayah this beautiful
[19:16]ayah should resonate with a lot of us especially those of us
[19:22]who procrastinate now another understanding from this verse could be that the
[19:29]human being is quick to assume that he will have more time
[19:32]as if time made a contract with you and you know you're
[19:37]guaranteed a life until tomorrow or until 3 4 7 10 years
[19:44]from now and subhanallah how delusional man can be as we grow
[19:52]older time passes more and more quickly with the responsibilities we carry
[19:57]time never stops time never pauses time never sleeps it's the most
[20:03]precious thing you own so do not let anyone or anything steal
[20:08]it away from you that's why he says is telling us that
[20:22]verily the night and the days are working in you now how
[20:25]are they working in you by making you older by making you
[20:30]grow by making you lose this strength and this stamina and this
[20:38]power this ability you once had and they are taking away from
[20:43]you so take back from them what does take back from them
[20:46]mean it makes it means to make the most out of these
[20:48]minutes and these seconds that are passing by to do as much
[20:53]as you can one of the uh greatest companions of rasulallah he
[21:04]tells the holy prophet one time ya rasulullah enlighten me give me
[21:09]some words of wisdom and this is what the ashaab especially the
[21:14]close companions of the prophets and the infallible imams would do when
[21:19]they would be sitting in a gathering or they would be walking
[21:22]with rasulullah sitting with rasulullah they would ask him ya rasulallah tell
[21:25]us something advise us of something so rasulullah tells abu dhabi you
[21:40]need to be more greedy about your time about your life more
[21:47]than about your money usually people and maybe many of us uh
[21:56]might do this where we want to make every sense every dollar
[22:01]we saw we become greedy sometimes we want to save we want
[22:05]more and more the rasool is telling about here the same way
[22:10]people want to make the most out of their wealth and to
[22:17]gain as much money as they can throughout their lifetime you need
[22:21]to focus be greedy the same way people are greedy when it
[22:25]comes to money be greedy when it comes to time when time
[22:27]comes when this hour comes when this month arrives make the most
[22:32]out of it do not let it pass by just like that
[22:36]be greedy you want every single minute every single second you want
[22:39]to use it wisely and this is similar to the famous arabic
[22:44]saying which says that time is like a sword if you do
[22:53]not break it it will break you how can time break me
[22:55]what is meant by this thing well it comes to the basic
[23:00]understanding brothers and sisters of our purpose on this earth which is
[23:05]for each and every one of us to reach perfection to reach
[23:09]kamal and we spoke about this in detail in the previous discussions
[23:13]the perfect soul and we are all capable of reaching this perfect
[23:22]soul through hard work through dedication through perseverance and mainly this is
[23:29]achieved in the way we spend and designate our time as time
[23:35]on this dunya is delusional the real time starts in the and
[23:41]this is a philosophical discussion on its own maybe another time you
[23:45]can speak about it time on this earth can be a sword
[23:48]that breaks you and use it uselessly and wastefully when you spend
[23:54]all the time of the day and actions that will not aid
[24:01]in your that will not help you in your akhirah that will
[24:04]not help you in achieving that perfect soul there are four brothers
[24:09]and sisters as we approach the ramadan less than a week from
[24:13]now next week insha'allah this sacred time of the year is going
[24:20]to begin the month of allah the month of blessings and bounties
[24:22]it is important to briefly shed some light about the topic of
[24:30]time management and how we need to make the most out of
[24:32]the sacred time and we will discuss this by answering the following
[24:39]questions number one as to why is having so much uh free
[24:43]time a bad thing number two how does islam view laziness number
[24:49]three what is considered as a waste of our time and number
[24:52]four how does islam encourages us to organize our time the first
[25:00]question is why is having so much free time a negative thing
[25:04]and the answer to that is very simple because at that moment
[25:09]you are the most vulnerable you are the most weak if you
[25:17]look at when you might have committed a sin amass at them
[25:22]or when you have begun to have these negative thoughts negative ideas
[25:30]these fears anxiety depression a lot of these emotions are heightened in
[25:36]your free time once you become in the state of laziness in
[25:41]your free time you're also making an emptiness that destroys the soul
[25:47]of yours and it is proven uh statistically that those who are
[25:54]unproductive in their free time are more likely to stay in that
[25:57]cycle of comfort because merely thinking about doing something becomes too much
[26:02]of an effort tell us they're used to being in this state
[26:06]and the situation that if they were to change something in their
[26:08]lives change a routine it will be extremely difficult because it requires
[26:16]them to perform uh to perform some action and to put some
[26:20]effort and energy which they're not capable to do because they are
[26:23]used to this lifestyle in your free time when you are alone
[26:28]just doing nothing the faculty of imagination which is one of the
[26:35]faculties of allah created us with which is the satanic power as
[26:40]the call it in it begins to become stronger and it reaches
[26:46]its peak shaitaan is the most active at that time so those
[26:49]are saitan's business hours so it's so easy for one to fall
[26:57]into sin that's why they advise people to always accompany or occupy
[27:09]themselves with something to have their minds focused on something so if
[27:13]shaitaan were to come to you in that specific moment and try
[27:17]to manipulate you somehow try to whisper to you try to present
[27:19]to you this image or this scenario and you might think that
[27:25]you know it's ideal it's nice i should give it a shot
[27:31]i should try it you won't fall for these false representations you
[27:34]won't fall for these tricks because you have something more important to
[27:38]think and to worry about because you're occupied you're already doing something
[27:42]and this by the way on the side note is something that
[27:45]uh that speak speak a lot about of being alone and uh
[27:52]especially having free time when you are alone that's why it's recommended
[27:56]uh you know for one to always occupy themselves with people to
[28:01]stay around people it's one of the ways to stop yourself from
[28:05]sinning from masuya it's makru it's mentioned in the generations it's magruder
[28:10]want to eat alone to sleep in a house by themselves it's
[28:13]important to have someone even if they're not in the same room
[28:16]just in the same house they're closed they're nearby this helps you
[28:23]overcome some of these negative thoughts and desires that might come to
[28:28]your mind and it might stop you from sinning and if you
[28:31]think of it if you recall a lot of the times that
[28:33]shaitaan might have tried to manipulate you if you were if you
[28:40]were uh if you weren't around people how would you how would
[28:45]you have thoughts of that picture that he presented to you many
[28:50]of us i'm sure will say that it's because of you know
[28:53]the people around me i didn't sin or i didn't think of
[28:58]it much i didn't give it much thought this stopped me so
[29:00]this is one of the ways to stop shaitan is to occupy
[29:05]yourself with something number one and number two to stay around people
[29:08]to have people around you so this can be an extra barrier
[29:14]for you to stop you from sinning and from falling into the
[29:22]false representations of shaitaan now this is one of the ways obviously
[29:24]one should work on controlling their nephes on purifying their nephes in
[29:31]order not to reach that level but if this is one of
[29:33]the ways one of the these steps you can take let it
[29:37]be being around people stops you can't do it whatever way helps
[29:40]you to stop sin do it so islam views laziness which is
[29:44]casa as the leading factor for causing a person's failure in this
[29:49]life and in the hereafter and now regardless of islam's opinion on
[29:53]this the human being's mind our hakun tells us that laziness is
[30:00]something destructive it's a negative trait to carry around no one goes
[30:08]around boosting how they've been lazy for uh several years or four
[30:12]months it's not something that people find appealing that people find interesting
[30:15]it's the other way around it's when someone is able to do
[30:18]so much in the in those years or in those uh months
[30:24]that people find very interesting and people look at and like say
[30:28]wow this is something special this is this is an individual who
[30:33]was able to work hard this is an individual i need to
[30:36]take as an example in the way they work so this is
[30:43]the way to do it he says affects the person the individual
[30:55]both in the deen in the religion and in the dunya in
[31:00]this life we live in like how does it affect you and
[31:02]your deen what does laziness have to do with your religion or
[31:06]how pious or how much god consciousness you have if you think
[31:10]of it there is no act of worship without action every requires
[31:21]me to perform an action going to requires me to go to
[31:25]the sing to place my hand under the water to wash my
[31:29]face to wash my hands praying requires me to stand in a
[31:34]certain way to raise my hands in a certain way so it
[31:39]requires me to perform some actions now even if this action does
[31:42]not require you to move physically but it requires you to move
[31:45]intellectually you might not say this be out loud or scream or
[31:53]stand up while you're saying you can be sitting in your room
[31:56]on your laying in your bed and in your heart saying it's
[32:04]still a form of action that requires energy that requires liveliness and
[32:09]the one who's lazy to pray the one who's lazy to perform
[32:14]salah the one who's lazy to wake up for fajr the one
[32:16]who's lazy to fast the holy month of ramadan this individual becomes
[32:23]lazy and impatient and careless and when you uh become lazy and
[32:32]you ultimately lose your religion in doing so because you've reached a
[32:37]state where you're not bothered you're not willing to wait for the
[32:43]results yeah and you ask allah for something you want the answer
[32:46]to come right away if it's not right away you're not bothered
[32:48]because you're too lazy to wait so this is how it affects
[32:53]your religion and the relation you and similar if we look at
[33:01]it from the dunaway perspective from the materialistic side we cannot sustain
[33:09]ourselves by being lazy by just sitting at home doing nothing not
[33:13]going to work not going to school not having a business not
[33:16]having a source of income just sitting chilling 24 7.
[33:20]allah provided us with every possible thing we need in this world
[33:27]in order to become successful these are from the name of allah
[33:30]that we should constantly thank him for and allah wants us to
[33:39]use these faculties these powers these blessings whatever you want to call
[33:46]them in the best way possible they require us to put some
[33:51]effort they require us to work hard they require us to take
[33:56]the initiative to take action i remember uh one time one of
[33:59]my teachers told me this story in high school and i've mentioned
[34:03]it more than once on the member so i want to a
[34:07]catholic high school and the religion teacher he was giving one of
[34:11]those motivational speeches you know how to take action how to work
[34:14]hard how to be persistent and he mentioned this joke which i
[34:19]found was very interesting that he said there was this man who
[34:26]used to pray a lot day and night to god in order
[34:31]to win the lottery constantly praying all the time oh god oh
[34:37]jesus until god sent him an angel and that angel told that
[34:44]man please i beg you just purchase the lottery card first and
[34:48]then hopefully you can win and obviously i'm not using the story
[34:54]to tell you to go and purchase lottery tickets no that's not
[34:58]that's not the the idea the idea is that sometimes in order
[35:01]for us to or most of the times when we want to
[35:05]succeed when we want something when we want to achieve whatever goal
[35:09]it may be we need to take the first step take the
[35:12]first action take the initiative if we do not do so allah
[35:16]is not just going to drop money on us everywhere so this
[35:18]requires us what not to be lazy this requires work from us
[35:24]this requires effort so this is how uh being lazy how kessel
[35:27]can affect you religiously spiritually and at the same time it can
[35:31]affect you and you know your dunya so a person who's lazy
[35:38]technically will not gain anything from the anything from the dunya he'll
[35:41]be a failure so this brings us to the third uh question
[35:48]that what is considered as a wasting of time and in a
[35:53]narration imam al-baqar i dislike the person who is lazy when it
[36:04]becomes the histonia affairs and when we read these these narrations and
[36:11]we interpret them and we reflect upon these words of the massoum
[36:17]the infallible imam these words you know should be taken seriously these
[36:22]words should be contemplated upon as the is the official representative sent
[36:29]by allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala in other words they are the men for
[36:34]the imams or the manifestation of allah and the individual so i
[36:41]can uh translate what this narration means that the individual who does
[36:46]not look after his worldly affairs is the individual that has not
[36:54]taken responsibility for himself number one and for others now you might
[36:59]look at this and at first sight you might think well this
[37:05]makes no sense because islam tells us to worry about our in
[37:08]the end all matters is the amman and our spirituality and our
[37:14]relationship with allah subhanahu wa and at times we may think that
[37:19]when we go to work when we open a business when we
[37:24]perform an investment that this action is something dunya something materialistic it's
[37:31]for the world it doesn't please allah and this thought is ultimately
[37:40]incorrect when you wake up early in the morning and when you
[37:44]head to work when you head to university you you know you
[37:49]might have bad days you wake up you're mentally and physically tired
[37:53]you know you're trying to work hard study hard to accumulate this
[37:57]uh this money and this wealth to spend it at the end
[38:02]of the month and you're paying your bills and on food and
[38:08]drinks this act in itself even though it's appearance from the outside
[38:12]it's outer appearance it's materialistic it's reality its essence can be can
[38:22]be spiritually you can make it an act of worship by changing
[38:28]and alternating your intention when you go to work when you go
[38:32]learn when you go to school when you do whatever act it
[38:39]is to make a living if you put your intention that when
[38:42]i go to work or when i go to school and carry
[38:46]on this task so i can ultimately reach my perfection so i
[38:52]can train my soul so i can be able to become from
[38:58]the leaders of the imam by helping the community by giving some
[39:01]of this money this wealth i am making to the poor supporting
[39:06]my islamic center to perform programs to grow to help our community
[39:11]become better all of this is ajir in the eyes of allah
[39:15]subhanahu wa and all of this allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala rewards for that's
[39:21]why in the uh narration it is said al-qaeda that the one
[39:29]who provides for his family is the same as the one who
[39:33]fights in the name of allah subhanahu wa the one who goes
[39:40]to jihad it is in the same ranking but again it is
[39:45]the intention which changes this uh level or this uh azure if
[39:50]it is going to actually be ajit or not and if someone's
[39:56]just working and all they can they worry about is uh you
[40:01]know buying luxurious things without understanding the purpose or how is this
[40:06]thing that i buy going to help me spiritually how am i
[40:12]investing in uh growing uh spiritually am i actually using this money
[40:15]for example to buy some books towards a mosque am i paying
[40:18]almost on this am i giving the zakat am i you know
[40:23]paying my financial islamic jews or not if it's not in that
[40:30]way then of course it's not going to be a sense of
[40:34]allah but generally speaking it is and it can be there's a
[40:42]narration by a name a person named safwan athori and it is
[40:47]said that this person one time he goes to medina and he
[40:52]sees a man who you know was fit who was seen physically
[41:00]strong nothing wrong with his body this man had two children and
[41:03]he was working very hard in his lands harvesting so this person
[41:12]says safwan authority i approach this man this man i thought i
[41:15]can maybe give him some words of advice of wisdom and when
[41:20]i approached him i saw it was imam jafar so i asked
[41:28]him you know you're sweating you look so tired you have your
[41:33]children helping you know why are you working so hard why are
[41:36]you doing all of this it's dunya listen to the reply of
[41:42]the imam that imam says i have to seek and look after
[41:47]my risk and prevent my family and myself from humility of asking
[41:55]you and others for help tells him that i need to do
[42:03]this i have a responsibility towards my kids islamically i have a
[42:07]responsibility towards my family towards my kids towards my wife i need
[42:10]to be able to provide for them the basic necessities they need
[42:13]in their life to survive and the imam further says that if
[42:19]death were to come to me in these moments while working then
[42:25]i would be in a state of worship for allah therefore i
[42:34]emphasize that it is important that we take ourselves out of that
[42:41]bubble and we realize that we can worship allah in these acts
[42:45]that their outer appearance is dunya we brothers and sisters as long
[42:50]as our intentions are there in every act we can do we
[42:55]can seek we can't always be in the state of roughly of
[42:59]unawareness and sometimes if you want to invite look look look at
[43:03]this simple action that you can do when you want to invite
[43:09]someone for uh dinner or for lunch or when you're with your
[43:13]family having dinner or lunch you buy them a treat you buy
[43:16]a dessert you buy them this food you take them out this
[43:20]food let's say that they was the day of a birth of
[43:24]an imam let's say so you can make your intention that this
[43:28]food is saying or an imam will call them or imam in
[43:33]java then you will receive just look at these certain things you
[43:36]look at it what's how's this worshiping allah this is why i
[43:43]bought you guys this this is the intention this is how allah
[43:46]takes these small acts into consideration and trust me brothers these small
[43:52]acts can change sometimes the the the uh results uh in the
[43:58]day of judgment and there's so many narrations that speak about this
[44:01]you know this small amal one can perform the way uh you
[44:05]know they treat each other the way they perform certain acts the
[44:10]way the relationship is with their family with certain individuals this all
[44:14]of this allah takes into consideration maybe this small act that you
[44:22]performed is why allah decides to put you in paradise and not
[44:24]in the hell fire who knows perhaps even during his time in
[44:33]this world we all know story he was a hard worker rasulallah
[44:39]used to work himself to attain this he used to work in
[44:46]lands harvesting he led a very successful caravan and business in trading
[44:53]and this is why i say the hadith was so impressed with
[44:57]rasulallah the way he handled the business the way uh obviously there
[45:01]was other things that were very beautiful she found about rasulullah the
[45:07]way he treated the workers the way he talked to people but
[45:10]rasulallah was successful in what he did for say the khadijah and
[45:15]because of this beautiful personality of rasulallah being able to combine between
[45:21]the two being able to perform these dunyawi obligations you can say
[45:25]in the best manner and at the same time perform your ahibaidat
[45:29]in the best way possible and it is what elevates a person
[45:36]and there's a beautiful narration in which one of the uh wives
[45:42]of the holy prophet says that one time she missed him the
[45:49]prophet was uh away she wasn't near her so she was worried
[45:52]as to why he didn't come to bed yet and she wakes
[45:57]up and sees him standing in the prayer in the late night
[46:02]in a full state of worship and she tells him ya rasulallah
[46:04]i see you tiring yourself and doing these acts of worship yet
[46:09]allah has forgiven you for what you know you have done if
[46:14]you've done anything in the end you're uh [Music] you're the messenger
[46:18]of allah what does rasulullah reply to her he says and will
[46:26]i not be a thankful servant for allah allah he addresses the
[46:34]holy prophets when you finish from the table from preaching from spreading
[46:45]the message of islam to the people from your day-to-day affair from
[46:48]your business from whatever it is refer back to me come back
[46:55]to your lord come back to allah and i will accept that
[47:03]look how easy it is brothers and sisters to refer back to
[47:05]allah azzawajal yet we're lazy and we decide to do other things
[47:10]when we should be thanking allah subhanahu wa ta'ala on a daily
[47:16]basis a simple allah a simple says that after each salah perform
[47:21]a sajdah thank allah azzawajal for the blessings and the he has
[47:28]given you so activity does not only refer to physical it also
[47:33]means to be mentally active and the quran warns us from this
[47:40]intellectual laziness as well and it advises us to do tafakkur and
[47:43]to reflect and to contemplate that's why you have in some of
[47:46]the narrations one hour of worship is better than 70 years of
[47:54]worship or sorry one hours of reflection of contemplation is better than
[47:58]70 years of worship of ibadah and now for your mind to
[48:07]think about the signs of god about the creation of god about
[48:10]the blessings allah gave to you this is one of the ways
[48:16]you can grow your relationship with allah when you look at when
[48:21]you look at the creation and see this beauty and see this
[48:24]then how about the creator the master the one who brought all
[48:31]of this together so this is a way of activity as well
[48:35]and the same way one of the ways of activity as well
[48:44]is to be physically active through exercise through taking care of your
[48:48]body and as you know we are required to take care of
[48:49]our bodies to be in a perfect uh mental and uh physical
[48:55]state and in order to be in that perfect mental state requires
[48:58]us sometimes to be physically uh comfortable and physically ready that's why
[49:05]um you know perhaps who knows one of the heckman one of
[49:10]the wisdom behind the movements of prayer is this you see the
[49:14]the different movements from from standing up to going down to raku
[49:19]you see there's a relationship between this physical movement and between the
[49:24]spiritual between the words between the bottom so the salat has a
[49:29]bahir and a button so with that being said brothers and sisters
[49:33]we see that as muslims as we need to try to make
[49:39]the most out of this time and fill them in the best
[49:43]way possible whether it's taking care of our religious affairs and what
[49:46]allah allows us and what is permissible and of course taking care
[49:52]of our affairs this brings us to the last question i would
[49:56]like to quickly speak about is how does islam advise us to
[50:00]organize our time and this is the probably the most important question
[50:04]you know what is the way islam gives to us he says
[50:13]try to divide your time into four segments an hour or a
[50:22]time for meditation to god an hour to spiritually connect through allah
[50:26]through worship through salah through the house an hour for earning your
[50:34]livelihood you're working going to work on your job to socialize with
[50:45]your brothers and sisters and the imam mentions what type of brothers
[50:49]and sisters you should be accompanying yourself with those trustworthy friends who
[50:56]point out your moral weakness and who are sincere to you in
[51:04]their relationship and last but not least is a time exclusively devoted
[51:11]for non uh haram pleasure with the family with yourself so the
[51:17]imam salam allah is telling us that you know there's that time
[51:20]of the day as well you need for yourself and there's a
[51:23]time where you can chill you can you know watch a movie
[51:26]you can go and play football you can play fifa whatever you
[51:29]want to do as long as it's not haram and it's not
[51:31]you do not overdo it of course and when the imam says
[51:34]it doesn't mean like one hour or one hour for allah you
[51:38]can you can spend your whole day for allah and do it
[51:43]in doing that especially ramadan the majority you should assign a certain
[51:46]amount of the day certain hours to perform this is something that
[51:53]should be part of your schedule the imam means a time so
[51:57]your time should be divided into these four segments if you're able
[52:01]to do so then you're you are making the most out of
[52:04]your time now being uh you know productive uh needs proper plan
[52:15]and organization and uh one of the main things you need to
[52:20]do is to put yourself uh a schedule and before you put
[52:25]yourself a schedule it is important to keep in mind that this
[52:30]time the swakot allah gave to you and for that reason i
[52:36]need to try to take care of this amana by using it
[52:38]wisely and the main reason for one to get the tawfiq in
[52:44]order to be uh complete his or her tasks in the best
[52:48]way is this understanding of time that it is that you should
[52:54]be thankful for this put in your hands and you should not
[52:58]delay the opportunities like we said in the very beginning and the
[53:02]verse do not say that i will do it uh tomorrow respect
[53:05]the appointment you have something i that's due tomorrow due to make
[53:12]it uh you know finish it by tomorrow you have an appointment
[53:15]with someone tomorrow make sure you're on time and this is uh
[53:20]the the way that our scholars as well will teach us one
[53:22]of the interesting stories that i find very beautiful from the life
[53:27]of imam khomeini is it is said that one time the imam
[53:32]had a problem in his house so the sink wasn't working so
[53:36]he calls one of his students to you know find a plumber
[53:39]for him so the plumber tells him i'm going to come tomorrow
[53:43]morning at 8 00 am 8 am so that mom tells him
[53:47]tomorrow at 8 a.m i'll see you this person knocks on the
[53:51]door the plumber knocks on the door and emotionally opens the door
[53:55]and he looks at his uh his watch he looks at the
[54:01]time and it's 805 this person was literally five minutes late only
[54:06]five minutes late he tells him inshaallah i will see you tomorrow
[54:10]come back again uh at this at the specific time you told
[54:16]me about until the the next day came and he was able
[54:18]to arrive 8 a.m sharp so you know romania was very strict
[54:23]in his time and his wife and his children would say this
[54:27]that the imam had a set schedule this hour of the days
[54:30]with the family this of the days for my studies this hours
[54:32]to take care of issues political issues whatever issue it is this
[54:38]was the schedule of this and this is the way brothers and
[54:40]sisters we should be that we have a set schedule and to
[54:45]end off here how do we organize this time of hours the
[54:49]first thing is to plan the tasks uh in you know in
[54:57]the way uh we like whether it's planning ahead of time weekly
[55:01]uh daily monthly this obviously differs from person to person now ramadan
[55:07]is coming we have one month we should be preparing for this
[55:10]month how am i going to uh make the most out of
[55:15]this month and when i'm proof when i'm placing these tasks that
[55:18]i need to perform monthly let's say in sha ramadan i need
[55:20]to look at what tasks are of a higher priority for me
[55:25]to accomplish and to reach i'll give you an example in short
[55:28]ramadan let's say i want to work on praying on time this
[55:31]is something i lack so i want to try my best to
[55:34]working on time yeah at the same time i want to do
[55:39]other things i want to start waking up for salah today i
[55:42]want to read every single day i want to try to complete
[55:45]the whole quran but if you if you for some reason are
[55:50]not able to handle all of these what is the highest priority
[55:54]of the above that should be placed there up there it's obviously
[55:59]praying on time so praying on time is number one i'm not
[56:02]saying do not focus on other things you can't fully you need
[56:07]to train yourself to do musta but it doesn't come right away
[56:10]you know there's a priority when you perfect the start working on
[56:15]your ibada was constantly asked by people that what does one need
[56:23]to you know focus on how does one reach allah you know
[56:27]what his answer was simple all you have to do is do
[56:30]your wajiba and stay away from the muharram even these extra uh
[56:34]extra sayings extra just behind if you do your wajibat perfect it
[56:42]you are not in need for that so this is uh number
[56:48]one number two is to obviously distribute the tasks uh according to
[56:53]how big they are and you're not going to place let's say
[56:56]you have an assignment uh that requires a lot of work you're
[57:03]not going to give it an hour of your day while you
[57:09]give watching tv six hours of your day so you have to
[57:12]see you have to be a rational in the way you place
[57:14]the task you have how big the task is and how important
[57:20]the task is number three and this is uh very easy in
[57:22]this day and age is to write down the tasks you have
[57:30]now some of us are not traditional anymore using a pen and
[57:33]paper or notebook you can use your phone put a reminder tell
[57:40]siri to to set you an alarm to wake up for salah
[57:42]have a schedule in front of you write them down put a
[57:46]sticky note somewhere but have your tasks set in front of you
[57:49]and this helps brothers and sisters and knowing that i need to
[57:52]do this and this and this sometimes we might forget sometimes people
[57:56]might say well are you kidding me this is like something babies
[57:58]would do or something people do in elementary school it's it's it's
[58:02]not this way no it actually helps you to be more productive
[58:05]and to accomplish more things uh last but not least brothers and
[58:10]sisters is to evaluate these tasks and to see my flaws when
[58:21]i finished them when i completed them like this was there something
[58:28]wrong and how i uh distributed my time was there something uh
[58:32]missing in my schedule something i forgot about try to remember last
[58:36]year last year ramadan what did you do wrong what was there
[58:40]missing why do you feel that you didn't you know something you
[58:44]were doing throughout the whole month why weren't you able to stay
[58:49]consistent in doing so you lost that spirit why how can you
[58:53]what can you change in that uh in this short ramadan something
[58:56]you lacked pastor for an example that one of the goals should
[59:03]be last last ramadan i used to once allah time would come
[59:07]i used to have iftar then pray and when i'd come to
[59:12]pray my stomach would feel so full i'm not very i'm not
[59:16]in the mood spiritually to pray for allah and i'm just tired
[59:20]i just want to sleep down and just lay down i'm not
[59:24]in the attitude i don't have the perfect attitude for salat well
[59:27]one of the ways that you know can help you overcome that
[59:32]and some people might find this useful some people know is to
[59:34]pray before iftar for example to perform your salat take your time
[59:39]10 15 minutes do what you have to do and then that
[59:44]way you know you performed your salah you were in a good
[59:46]state you were able to be spiritually there and then eat enjoy
[59:49]your meal for uh how long you you want so these are
[59:55]some of the tips brothers and sisters we can use and hopefully
[60:00]we can um apply them starting from now in order to make
[60:03]the most and to benefit from ramadan we ask allah subhanahu wa
[60:09]ta'ala to give us the tawfiq be sincere with allah ask allah
[60:14]for guidance ask allah to give you the strength in order to
[60:18]make the most out of this beloved time brothers and sisters remember
[60:21]we spoke about death that we spoke about we spoke about what
[60:26]happens in the afterlife and yeah and who knows if we're going
[60:31]to have this opportunity again to fast another shahadu so let us
[60:36]take advantage of this let us try to make the most of
[60:41]it we ask allah subhanahu wa tahalah for the [Applause] lecture amazing
[61:10]tips inshaallah in preparation for the holy month of ramadan i hope
[61:15]you know our audience who have tuned in will be able to
[61:21]take a lot of tips and advice from what you have given
[61:24]today and for those who couldn't uh tune in live insha'allah they'll
[61:26]be able to catch up on the recording uh once it's posted
[61:29]uh right after this live um we have just one question inshallah
[61:35]maybe just dedicate a few minutes before we go on to uh
[61:39]one person has asked and i'll just bring it up onto the
[61:45]screen uh how do we incorporate worship uh remembrance of allah in
[61:48]our daily lives but not part of a routine i used to
[61:52]read quran daily on the train to uni but then i went
[61:55]on holiday work uh working from home and and that all stopped
[61:58]and i forgot to read for a long time so what would
[62:04]you advise this father advice i would give is if you guys
[62:10]remember the the past discussion we spoke specifically the second one when
[62:14]we spoke about the divine love of allah and we said that
[62:18]the highest level of love is the divine love that our relationship
[62:23]with allah should be a relationship of love and the way to
[62:33]uh elevate your spiritual connection with allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala is to look
[62:40]at it that way that if you have a person you love
[62:44]a person you care for a person you really admire the person
[62:47]a person who's done so much for you in your life you
[62:52]know the the least thing you can do to them is something
[62:58]they will uh love something they like from you something they would
[63:07]appreciate not that allah needs our ibadah but allah appreciates when we
[63:13]do that number one obviously he's giving us azure and we're getting
[63:17]hassanat for it and number two it's because we're understanding his greatness
[63:23]his majesty understanding who allah is the asthma of allah requires from
[63:34]us other than thanking him other than you know being doing our
[63:42]obligatory prayers these obligations that we need to perform this for we
[63:49]need to incorporate in our lives some of these muslims and some
[63:54]of these muslims like you said reading quran reading quran or reading
[64:00]it's about consistency consistency in what sense in a sense that the
[64:05]same way i have salah the same way uh i need to
[64:09]pray five times a day it's it's a it's a no-brainer you
[64:13]know there's no way out of it if i'm on vacation if
[64:18]i'm uh at work if i'm at school i need to figure
[64:19]out a way to pray the same attitude we we should have
[64:23]would this must happen obviously perfect your salat and perfect your obligations
[64:28]and then after that move on now move on it can be
[64:32]a small act if you find reading quran something that you know
[64:37]you're not able to do on a regular basis or daily you
[64:39]know don't hold a hundred watermelons in one hand start with something
[64:45]simple after salat i can start performing this piazza zala for example
[64:48]i can write as a small tattoo which will take me to
[64:50]three minutes i can have it on my phone so i'll make
[64:54]sure that i'm going to remember to read it so there's different
[65:00]steps and different ways i can take in order to incorporate this
[65:03]in my day-to-day life and i need to be consistent and this
[65:09]is this is the most important point it's not about it is
[65:14]yet it can be reading quran even though we should be reading
[65:16]quran it's the month of allah but in days other than we
[65:24]need to be a consistent choose one act and perfect it whether
[65:28]it's whether it's whether it's reading quran one page of quran one
[65:35]line it doesn't need to be that all every single day you
[65:40]need to read ten pages or five pages or which is it
[65:44]from quran that amount of pages is there yeah you might look
[65:48]at it not bothered today i'm not feeling it read how much
[65:52]you can but do not leave it yeah and even if you're
[65:56]holiday you're on a holiday or you had long hours today you
[65:59]worked overtime you can't read five pages read one page i'm sure
[66:02]you can read one page read read one surah read a line
[66:07]but think of it read it with your heart so this is
[66:10]the same way it's about consistency that when you want to do
[66:13]this thing you put it in the back of your mind that
[66:16]i need to start working on myself in in this specific category
[66:22]i need to be consistent in performing them whenever i whenever it's
[66:28]not whatever i can that i need to perform it at all
[66:32]times i need to be consistent in it i cannot leave it
[66:36]no matter what the circumstance is this is the way uh it
[66:40]starts to become easy for me to hold up the quran and
[66:43]to read or it becomes easy for me to stand up on
[66:45]the prayer mat and pray to allah's panel so i need some
[66:50]consistency and obviously you talk from allah i i cannot hear you
[67:05]i was on me thank you thank you very much uh for
[67:10]the last couple of weeks may allah reward you for all your
[67:14]efforts insha'allah the brothers and sisters and everyone watching will keep you
[67:18]and your family in their prayers and yeah inshallah we're you know
[67:23]we're going to miss you but inshallah i won't be for too
[67:26]long thank you so much for this opportunity and i think thank
[67:29]for me all the brothers and sisters all the organizers volunteers for
[67:33]their hard work and for their efforts may allah you know give
[67:39]them from the blessings of this blessed month and may allah you
[67:44]know we can all reach this level of uh perfection insha allah
[67:48]and work on ourselves through the guidance and through this for the
[67:54]community and for our youth insha'allah a recitation of the mail by
[68:15]saying uh who's been patient waiting patiently as always so we'll bring
[68:21]him on salaam alaykum muhammad foreign [Music] foreign [Music] she [Music] [Music]
[70:41][Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign foreign [Music] m [Music] i [Music] my
[74:26]oh see foreign [Music] i [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] foreign [Music]
[77:00]foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] foreign foreign foreign [Music] so [Music] foreign
[79:51][Music] my i [Music] foreign [Music] oh [Music] foreign [Music] foreign foreign

[94:56][Music] me [Music] foreign oh oh my so we ask brothers and
[97:20]sisters to keep saying ahmad and his family inshallah and pray for
[97:24]him for the holy month of ramadan uh okay so uh we've
