[0:45]autumnal hasanul Maddie or Oahu l-'alameen Allahu ta da my dear brothers
[0:50]and sisters I would like to congratulate you on the auspicious birth
[0:59]of one of the heroes of the religion of Islam one of
[1:03]the heroes of humanity one of the shining stars of the al-bayt
[1:09]peace be upon them that is lady zainab salam - la hija
[1:19]this amazing woman who teaches us amazing lessons in patience in humanity
[1:27]and in sacrifice Lady Zainab alehissalaam was born on the fifth of
[1:35]jimana and Allah which is the fifth month in the lunar calendar
[1:40]she was born in the sixth year of the Hegira ladies a
[1:47]Nibbana Salam has a virtue when she was born that no other
[1:56]human being in history has this virtue to this extent she was
[2:02]born in the purest house in the history of humankind she was
[2:12]born in a house surrounded with five of God's in at the
[2:17]peak of them the holy prophet muhammad sallallahu aleyhi wa their beloved
[2:26]grandfather her parents imam ali bin ABI talib a nice salon and
[2:32]lay lady fatima a and salaam and her two brothers imam al
[2:35]hasan and husayn show me a household in history purer than this
[2:40]house this is an amazing virtue from the minute ladies a nepali
[2:49]salaam opened her eyes she was surrounded with these shining faces with
[2:56]these pure hearts the purest of god's creation when we examine the
[3:03]challenges that zeyneb Allah's Salam experienced on the Day of Ashura and
[3:08]in the aftermath of Karbala when we examine her mountains of patience
[3:18]her courage let us not forget that this did not spontaneously happen
[3:24]ladies ain't about in Salaam achieved that greatness because of the impeccable
[3:33]pure amazing upbringing that she had in Medina she grew up in
[3:38]the house of her grandfather she grew up with her father Amir
[3:43]and many nannies Saddam the commander of the faithful imagine an upbringing
[3:48]like that we have historical accounts that tell us about the beautiful
[3:53]relationship between Iman I'll even have you finally Bani Saddam and his
[3:58]daughter Zeynep how the Imam used to speak to her how would
[4:03]he would he would nourish her soul he would nourish her mind
[4:06]he would feed her with the knowledge of Allen bait one interesting
[4:11]account tells us that once Imam I leave nebith Allah bodies Saddam
[4:16]was gently speaking to his daughter Zeynep it seems that he was
[4:23]teaching her how to count so he told her Oh Xena say
[4:30]one she said one then he told her say two she stopped
[4:33]she remained silent she did not speak the Imam and he said
[4:39]I'm told her Zeynep say - she did not speak she refused
[4:41]the Imam Ali said I master zeyneb what's the matter why don't
[4:48]you say - look at her reply she says my beloved father
[4:50]how can I say - with the tongue that said one referring
[4:57]to the oneness of Allah subhana wa tada I said one with
[5:02]this tongue and Allah is one how can I say two with
[5:09]the tongue that said one see her deep faith in Allah Subhanahu
[5:12]WA Ta'ala even as she was a little child she was expressing
[5:19]to her father father I learned from you the lessons of tawheed
[5:24]my life is anchored in the faith of in the last faith
[5:31]my life revolves around the Almighty God that's amazing upbringing another historical
[5:37]account tells us one day she asked her father remember she was
[5:43]just a little child at this point maybe two three four years
[5:47]she asks her father Oh father do you love us we your
[5:53]children do you love us he tells her of course I love
[5:54]you you're the light of my eyes and the flower of my
[6:01]heart she tells him Oh father but the absolute true love is
[6:06]for allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala and the compassion is for us and mahatma
[6:12]to Lila was shafa'ah to Lina what a beautiful response it's as
[6:19]if she's telling her father my beloved father true love is only
[6:24]for God nothing comes before Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala he comes first
[6:30]everything else becomes second so you love us your children yes but
[6:35]remember that the love of God comes first you show us compassion
[6:39]you show us affection but your absolute unlimited unwavering love is for
[6:48]the Almighty God imagine a little child speaking these words don't be
[6:54]surprised when you look at the patience of zeyneb in kalamata when
[6:57]she was a child that's how much she loved the Almighty God
[7:01]that's how her how deep her love was for allah subhanho time
[7:10]let's ask ourselves how much do we spend time with our children
[7:14]brothers and sisters talking to them about the Almighty God the love
[7:22]of God do our children grow up pegged in the love of
[7:24]God fixed in the faith of Allah upon a time when your
[7:31]life revolves around God's love nothing can bring you down no tragedy
[7:34]can make you collapse you'll be at stronger than a mountain as
[7:38]one hadith describes the believers can attend Shabana Raza to Zawinul Asif
[7:48]the Imam Hani Salaam those believers they're like fixed mountains the biggest
[7:52]hurricane cannot do any damage to the mountain that's when your heart
[8:00]is fixed firm deep in the love of allah subhanahu wata'ala we
[8:04]as parents especially the father because usually the mother spends more time
[8:10]with the children but especially the father we cannot neglect our children
[8:15]especially in this time and age what our children are exposed to
[8:19]what are the thoughts going in their mind believe me sometimes and
[8:25]this is tragic sometimes we parents were the last people to know
[8:32]what's going on in the minds of our children were the last
[8:35]people to know because we're in a different world the father he's
[8:41]busy with his work with his career with his job and then
[8:43]if he has some free time he'll go and have some Sarah
[8:48]with his friends and what about your children what's going on in
[8:51]their minds are they had do they have any misconcept are you
[8:55]teaching them what it means to be mindful of God to love
[9:00]God to revolve to have his life her life revolve around Allah
[9:03]are we teaching them that or no how much time our children
[9:11]are spending on the gadgets iPads computers what is that doing to
[9:15]them are we aware of that or no aside from the health
[9:22]health risks right the psychological damage that this type of addiction does
[9:27]to our children is severe brothers and sisters today research is proving
[9:32]day after day scientists doctors are making this clear to us that
[9:37]the more our children are using these gadgets and devices and social
[9:42]networking the lonelier they're feeling and the more depressed they're becoming that's
[9:48]a reality are we aware of that or no are we aware
[9:53]of the statistics of how many depressed people we have in our
[9:56]society today more than ever our teenagers are growing up suffering from
[10:03]depression severe depression chronic depression that's because one significant factor that led
[10:10]to that was that when they were younger we did not spend
[10:15]enough time with them to give them that genuine human interaction we
[10:20]humans need human interaction we cannot replace it with devices we cannot
[10:25]replace it with the Internet then we suffer from loneliness and depression
[10:30]just look at the facts studies have been done that the more
[10:34]teenagers use Facebook the more they feel depressed the lonelier they fear
[10:40]the worse they will feel and that's a problem that's a tragedy
[10:46]you know we think that it's keeping us busy right yes -
[10:50]to an extent it could be healthy if someone is being wise
[10:54]with their time what they're doing they're learning they're connecting with good
[11:00]friends that's very good but it becomes an addiction for many of
[11:04]us we realize that we're spending hours and and hours surfing these
[11:11]social networking sites some people give them the iPhone or the iPad
[11:16]if they go and log into Instagram they will spend five hours
[11:20]before they let go of that phone one picture to another picture
[11:25]to another post to another post it just leaves you it's a
[11:28]vicious cycle and it's endless and suddenly you realize I wish that
[11:31]five hours doing what that I will learn something beneficial just looking
[11:37]at nonsense things this makes us depress this makes us lowly parents
[11:45]have to be aware of these challenges you need that human interaction
[11:49]that daily human interaction with your children you need to know what's
[11:54]going in their minds we need to mold their minds and develop
[11:58]their minds around a lot subhanahu wata'ala if you've done that it'll
[12:06]be guaranteed no matter what happens in the future the biggest challenge
[12:09]the biggest difficulty the biggest test your child will make it because
[12:13]you raised your children on the faith of allah subhana wa ta'ala
[12:21]that's something we visibly see in the life of zeyneb Ali has
[12:23]Sena even when she was a little little child we will look
[12:29]at her mentality we see that she was fixed firm in the
[12:32]faith of the Almighty God zeyneb alehissalaam this amazing woman who really
[12:40]offers us so many lessons in every field encouraged in patience and
[12:46]modesty in chastity in knowledge you know zeyneb on Islam played a
[12:51]pivotal role this is an amazing lesson she teaches us that as
[12:57]a Muslim female as a Muslim woman you've have a number of
[13:01]roles to occupy in society Zana bond is Salam impeccably played those
[13:11]roles she found that amazing balance to manage between being a mother
[13:17]being a wife being a daughter being an active leader Society zeyneb
[13:22]was a leader in her society yes even before Karbala she was
[13:26]a leader read about her life and her biography and you'll see
[13:32]that in Kufa she actually held circles for women to study the
[13:38]Holy Quran she gave lessons in tough seal she was not someone
[13:42]who was laid back into her house and says you know what
[13:46]forget it I'm just just me and my house and my kids
[13:49]no ladies ain't nobody in Salaam while she was in Kufa while
[13:55]she was in medina she was extremely active so many people graduated
[13:59]from the school of Xena Vania Silla she was an active leader
[14:07]and Zeynep teaches us that a true Muslim female is one who
[14:12]takes the initiative to support the path of God and one who
[14:15]is an active leader in her society there's an interesting hadith that
[14:24]a sheikh sadiq merit it was a very prominent scholar you know
[14:27]we're talking about a millennium ago some 101 thousand years ago a
[14:32]sheikh sadiq narrates a hadith from Ahmed ibn Ibrahim he was a
[14:42]great companion of the Imams he narrates he says in the minor
[14:46]occultation labor to surah after al imam al mahalla Arafah Raja went
[14:50]into Arkell tation you know maybe some some seven years after the
[14:55]occultation he says I went to see Hakim hakima is who the
[15:04]aunt of the Imam alayhis-salam I came as the aunt of any
[15:08]mammal askary he says I went to see her she was a
[15:13]very wise woman she was a leader in her society he says
[15:18]I went I met her I visited her I asked her who
[15:23]is the Imam of our time we the followers of Annan bait
[15:26]where do we go the eleventh Imam has been martyred he's been
[15:33]killed what do we do now she said he's an architect on
[15:42]wa'ta'ala for many reasons he's had an imam and when you go
[15:46]into occultation then he asks her okay did he appoint someone to
[15:50]be his representative if we have questions if we have issues who
[15:57]do we refer to now we know that the Imam Ali Salaam
[15:59]had appointed four ambassadors a Sephora and a bar but in addition
[16:06]to that there is a fifth ambassador most of us are not
[16:09]even aware of so hakima tells I'm a de pinna brahim that
[16:12]he in his will he wrote to his grandmother the mother of
[16:21]an imam al Oscar II she's the grandmother of an imam al-mahdi
[16:25]she is the source of guidance for the Shia you have any
[16:28]questions go to her any issues go to her there is a
[16:34]well from the Eman that the Shia shall refer to her say
[16:39]the hadith that's one of her names she's the mother of an
[16:42]imam and askary so she's the grandmother of any mammal mandy rahim
[16:46]found this strange he taught akima by the way he was a
[16:51]believer he told I came in wait a minute what's going on
[16:54]over here first of all the Imams absent we can't see him
[16:58]on top of that he's referring us to a woman come on
[17:02]when did this happen in history that we have to now go
[17:06]to a woman to learn about our faith and for her to
[17:09]solve our problems he was confused this was unusual to him so
[17:15]he asked her keema wonder has this happened before what does hakima
[17:20]tell him she tells him exactly like the legacy of Lady Zainab
[17:25]alaihe salam imam hussain ali salam in his will before he was
[17:30]martyred in karemera he directed his shia to sikh faith to seek
[17:37]knowledge from his sister zeyneb alehissalaam why because al imam zain al-abideen
[17:43]alehissalaam he could not publicly explain the teachings of an inmate peace
[17:50]be upon them the Benny Omega had a close eye on him
[17:55]a close watch on him if the Imam would have publicly taken
[18:00]the responsibility of guiding the people they would have killed him they
[18:06]would have killed him absolutely if they would have seen that he's
[18:10]active especially those you know few years after care about at those
[18:13]first five years imam zain al-abideen on his saddam did not have
[18:17]an active role because he couldn't they would have slaughtered him because
[18:22]they were confused who's the Imam after Imam for saying if Imam
[18:27]Zechariah Burdine made it very clear to the enemies that he is
[18:30]the Imam Musa and Benny Omega had would have easily killed him
[18:33]so what was the plan of Imam Hussain on Easter day the
[18:37]plan of Imam Hussain Hani Salaam was that any knowledge imam zain
[18:42]al-abideen Ali so I wanted to give the people it would go
[18:47]through his aunt Isaiah so if someone had a problem had a
[18:50]question he would be directed to zina and of course ladies ain't
[18:56]about a certain many things she knew she was already knowledgeable and
[18:59]something she would learn from any man Zine El Abidine Ali Sinha
[19:02]so she was actually the representative of Imam for saying after Ali
[19:10]Mohammed was a non-insulin and many Omega you know they lived in
[19:15]an Arabian society it was awkward for them to arrest a woman
[19:19]or kill a woman because she's educating others it was not appropriate
[19:25]for their reputation so they did not know what to do with
[19:28]Zenith so an imam zein al-abideen Alison I would spread his teachings
[19:32]through his aunt Zane about incident the idea specifically states all the
[19:37]knowledge that would come from an imam zain al-abideen Ali said I
[19:43]would go through Xena she had that active role in society and
[19:46]this is a lesson for us brothers and sisters that we in
[19:52]our societies we need active female leaders who represent their identity who
[19:58]take their society forward who are progressive there are some people they
[20:01]have and misconception even some of us have that misconception if I
[20:08]want to be a pious woman if I want to follow the
[20:10]path of allah subhana wa ta'ala if I want to observe the
[20:15]head job I'm limited I don't have an active public role I
[20:18]need to keep away you know from the public and stay more
[20:23]in my house that's not the case who said that look at
[20:28]the lives of these infallible when the opportunity arises when you have
[20:34]freedom yes sometimes you're persecuted the minute you step outside your house
[20:38]and you say something you get killed and it was like that
[20:42]for a lot of our history but when you have the freedom
[20:45]to voice your concerns to lead your society to embody the values
[20:51]of Islam you have to take the initiative that is the path
[20:56]of ladies ain't about Al Salam the hijab is never an impediment
[21:00]to progress never because ladies ain't about a his Salaam while she
[21:09]displayed their job she upheld chastity in an amazing way at the
[21:16]same time no woman showed courage as much as she did no
[21:21]one had self-confidence as much as she did when she gave that
[21:27]amazing speech in Kufa reprimanding the coffins for betraying Imam and for
[21:33]st.
[21:33]Hani Salaam there was a man from the tribe of Beni asset
[21:36]his name was bish Ben Hussein bin Laden Hosea he witnesses he
[21:42]was an eyewitness to the speech of ladies a nebari sana listen
[21:46]to his words he says when he saw zeinab speak he says
[21:55]never in my life never in my life have I seen a
[21:57]woman with so much higher so much shyness and chastity yet at
[22:07]the same time so eloquent and courageous like Xena balasana she combines
[22:13]she combined between the two on the one hand her courage her
[22:19]amazing eloquence blew our minds it's as if mama idea was there
[22:26]the line of God it's as if he was speaking to the
[22:27]people but at the same time I had not seen a woman
[22:33]who speaks so Ellen eloquently with so much higher with so much
[22:37]decency with so much modesty she combined between the two zeyneb honest
[22:42]and I'm teaches us that for you to be active you can
[22:45]observe their job and you can do your job the her job
[22:50]is never an impediment brothers and sisters never we make up those
[22:53]excuses if we want to achieve something we can it requires self
[23:00]confidence it requires that you believe in your cause you believe in
[23:06]your values others will respect you yes there are challenges no one
[23:10]is saying there are no challenges it's not easy but it's possible
[23:17]people will respect you when people see that you're self-confident you're proud
[23:21]of your values and you're respectful and modest people will respect you
[23:25]they'll respect your a job as well it's not an impediment but
[23:28]that's how a la Spanish Allah tries us we all claim we
[23:34]have faith how do we show it allah subhanaw taala says you
[23:37]have faith okay show it sacrifice you may have to sacrifice more
[23:40]to observe the hedge ah yes especially if you want to be
[23:46]a professional right in the professional world it's more challenging for a
[23:50]sister to uphold the head job and observe the head job but
[23:53]it's possible we've got many examples in society just a while ago
[24:00]I read an article in The New York Times about a female
[24:05]Muslim lawyer in New York her name is Sahara Shima or Shima
[24:14]Zahra I don't know Sarah's her first name or last name you
[24:16]can look up the article in The New York Times it's a
[24:21]very interesting article the article states that she had a passion to
[24:26]be a lawyer she always wanted to be a lawyer she wanted
[24:29]to go to Law School now when she was in college she
[24:33]decides to wear the hijab her parents were not happy unfortunately sometimes
[24:41]we parents instead of encouraging our children we discourage them what justification
[24:48]do I have before Allah Subhan Allah Allah brothers and sisters this
[24:53]is a common problem in our communities sometimes the child the boy
[24:57]the daughter they want to uphold Islamic values she wants to upload
[25:04]the her job her mom stops her her father does not encourage
[25:07]her so she says my parents they did not like it they
[25:13]were very upset that I chose to enter the head job and
[25:14]I asked them why what's the matter they're like look if you
[25:20]wear the hijab you will fail say bye-bye to our school say
[25:24]bye-bye to your profession there is no career for you no one's
[25:29]going to hire you if you wear the hijab this is the
[25:33]professional world be realistic wake up and smell the coffee that's what
[25:38]they say right she said no and I wanted to prove to
[25:45]my parents that I could observe the head job yet I'll be
[25:48]successful see it goes back to how much you believe in your
[25:55]values challenging but let's see what happened she was like initially I
[25:58]did run into challenges you know when I would go for a
[26:04]job interview or for example if I have you know a professional
[26:06]profile on LinkedIn or any other websites if they did see the
[26:14]head job yes that reduced the chances of them accepting me that
[26:18]reduced the chances of them giving me a job interview but I
[26:22]persevered I remained patient and I said I will remain firm and
[26:31]self-confident and I will achieve this read her story she mentions the
[26:34]details of what happens eventually someone from a law firm hires her
[26:38]she works for that firm everyone's a may at her personality her
[26:45]faith her modesty she's proud of her her job and then she
[26:48]started her own law firm and she became successful and she's still
[26:53]observing the hedge on the a job will not stop you from
[26:56]progress it will not in fact when others and there are objective
[27:01]people in society look not everyone's bigoted there are bigots there are
[27:05]many people who are prejudiced but not everyone is like that there
[27:11]are people who will appreciate your self-confidence who will appreciate the fact
[27:15]that you value your faith there are many people like that in
[27:20]society but the problem is I don't know why we Muslims were
[27:26]not self-confident look at everyone in society even people who live lives
[27:33]of immorality they openly come with their immoral lifestyle and they're proud
[27:42]of it no haya no decency no shame me the Muslim was
[27:45]following the path of my lord I have to feel ashamed ashamed
[27:52]of what of worshipping God this is a problem that we have
[27:56]in our Muslim communities we need to raise our younger generation feeling
[27:59]confident be proud of your faith allah subhanaw taala has honored you
[28:04]with these values why should I feel embarrassed why should I feel
[28:11]ashamed others they're bringing all their corruption and deviation and what-have-you and
[28:15]they're proud of it when I worship allah subhanaw taala have to
[28:20]feel ashamed you know once I was either on the airplane I
[28:27]can't remember Oh was at an airport that time for Salah Kaman
[28:29]I wanted to pray because I could not make it by the
[28:33]time I would arrive at my destination so I stood up to
[28:37]pray it was either on the airplane or by the gates before
[28:39]going into the airplane so I was standing to pray I realized
[28:45]some people were looking at me you know you get that look
[28:48]especially in the airport especially on the plane you know some negative
[28:52]looks here and there and some curious looks what is this guy
[28:59]doing anyways for a moment for a moment I kind of felt
[29:01]embarrassed I'll be honest with you you know people are watching you
[29:04]not embarrassed but uncomfortable embarrassed is not the right word I kind
[29:07]of felt uncomfortable you don't like it when people are looking at
[29:12]you at you and you're doing something different but then while I
[29:16]was praying I had this thought to myself I told myself look
[29:19]until why are you feeling uncomfortable this ground that you're standing on
[29:25]belongs to Allah this airplane you're in belongs to Allah every breath
[29:34]you take belongs to God everything you have is for from allah
[29:38]subhana wa ta'ala and allah has asked you to worship Him and
[29:41]i'm obeying my lord why should I feel ashamed why shall I
[29:47]why should I feel uncomfortable everybody else who's not praying they should
[29:52]feel ashamed of not worshipping Allah I'm on God's ground worshiping God
[29:59]feeling ashamed illogical ridiculous I had this thought to myself believe me
[30:04]that was one of the best so that's I prayed because I
[30:11]really found the confidence to pray my Salah I found that energy
[30:14]and once you feel confidence believe me everything falls into place how
[30:19]many a total a higher level Masha Allah has promised worship me
[30:26]be concerned about me be wise of course be concerned about me
[30:29]I'll take care of you sometimes our weak and Allah our fate
[30:33]our TOEIC good and enlasa Panna cottas weak our faith in Allah
[30:38]as week we have to ask ourselves do we trust God or
[30:42]no when Allah subhana WA Ta'ala says worship me obey me do
[30:46]that which is right and I'll take care of you do I
[30:47]trust God or no so Zane about Al Salam this amazing woman
[30:55]she truly teaches us how to be modest how to be chaste
[31:01]and at the same time to be courageous she stood before the
[31:04]tyrants of her time what words did she have to hear from
[31:14]you ZD bin Mohamad imagine a woman who's lost her two sons
[31:18]who's lost her brothers she's lost her protectors Imam are saying about
[31:22]from the lamas peace be upon them how much can a woman
[31:26]handle no guardian they took them as captives prisoners of war humiliation
[31:31]she Yazeed summons her and she's and imaginisce and the courtyard of
[31:37]Yazeed listen to the question he asks her he tells her oh
[31:44]say 'no how did you find what God did to your Brotherhood
[31:47]seen how God killed your brother I said how do you find
[31:55]that he's adding salt to injury and that statement wounded Zainab's heart
[31:59]anyone else would have collapsed when you hear that what did she
[32:03]respond to look at the courage of zeyneb alehissalaam look at the
[32:08]faith of Xena balanced enough what did she respond to him I
[32:14]let my eighth largest I haven't seen anything but Beauty Allah liked
[32:20]her beauty she destroyed him he wanted to destroy her right she
[32:24]destroyed him then and there just by saying the sward brothers and
[32:27]sisters she destroyed that evil tyrant of her time he lost he
[32:34]lost the war when he heard that word he lost the war
[32:39]not Jana Bunyan and that's the courage that she had if we
[32:42]take a fraction of this courage in our daily lives and our
[32:45]societies will see miracles brothers and sisters will see wonders wonders will
[32:51]happen in our life we can change our community we can change
[32:57]our society we can change how others view our faith others don't
[33:01]understand what the position of women is in the religion of Islam
[33:05]making they think Islam mistreats women we have to show them through
[33:11]that courage through our modesty through that chastity we have to show
[33:15]them and let's learn from zeyneb on Islam as we are celebrating
[33:18]to her birth let us take these values navarre as-salaam demonstrates to
[33:26]the world that a woman has her own independent standard what do
[33:31]I mean by that you know one problem that we see here
[33:35]in the Western world there have been many movements to liberate women
[33:43]to bring equality to bring freedom and a lot of that has
[33:46]been good to an extent that has been positive but there is
[33:52]a problem that our society has committed you see the status of
[33:59]motherhood is a very it's a very sacred status unfortunately we see
[34:05]that in our modern-day society our society has sacrificed the status of
[34:13]motherhood it has belittled it yes there have been movements to ask
[34:17]for rights for women but in doing so they have slipped into
[34:21]this trap of belittling the value of motherhood allah subhana wa ta'ala
[34:30]and the religion of islam has given us the sacred position of
[34:35]motherhood but you see in the West many of these movements some
[34:39]feminist movements I'm not saying all of them some feminist movements the
[34:43]mistake they've committed is that in trying to achieve freedom for women
[34:53]they accepted without noticing this indirectly they accepted man as the standard
[34:59]and him being superior because they're always comparing women to men because
[35:05]men have this woman should have that because men work we should
[35:10]work they go to the army we should they wear pants we
[35:12]should you see look at the last 3040 years that's what they've
[35:17]done but when you do that you fall into the trap of
[35:19]accepting man as the standard so everything masculine becomes the standard becomes
[35:27]good and everything feminine becomes what inferior that's the trap that's the
[35:33]problem whereas in the religion of Islam allah subhanaw taala says look
[35:37]woman don't be like man why are you don't ever try to
[35:39]be like a man because if you try to be like a
[35:43]man that means you're accepting man as being the superior and you're
[35:47]trying to say that I'm inferior so I want to be better
[35:50]like a man no in the religion of allah allah subhanaw taala
[35:53]says every female i give you your own independent standard it's a
[36:01]godly given standard you're not trying to imitate anyone or be like
[36:06]anyone or compare yourself to anyone you have your own special status
[36:11]the status of motherhood for example that's a very sacred status we
[36:16]cherish it it's an honor a mother is the peg in her
[36:25]family a mother plays a pivotal role even more important than the
[36:30]role of a father she can be the core of a family
[36:35]hold the family together protect the family we've seen many examples when
[36:41]the mother is truly responsible as wise she can hold the entire
[36:46]family together she can hold all of her relatives together that's the
[36:51]power that allows father to Allah has given but our society looks
[36:55]down on that no they're all of motherhood is secondary it's not
[36:59]that important it limits your freedom it's this it's that and then
[37:03]you see look at the problems in our society yes there is
[37:09]more freedom a woman today can work all she wants but is
[37:12]she happier look at the statistics our woman today happier than before
[37:17]then the 60s 70s 80s do the research go and see what
[37:26]surveys are showing are they happier or no studies have not only
[37:30]been done here in the United States in Europe there have been
[37:35]studies that were done to compare women and for example some Scandinavian
[37:40]countries which have so much freedom right over there a woman has
[37:43]a lot of freedom and to compare them between some other European
[37:51]societies like Greece for example in which women are more traditional they
[37:56]have more traditional roles they wanted to see who's happier woman in
[38:02]Denmark and Sweden for example in Finland are they happier or women
[38:06]in Greece who had less freedom right there were more in traditional
[38:11]roles more spending time at home with the children more spending time
[38:17]as a mother at home right but who was happier those who
[38:23]perform this research they realized that woman in Greece were happier than
[38:27]women in Finland even though a woman in Finland had more freedom
[38:30]they worked they had their careers they were richer did that give
[38:34]them happiness at the end of the day it didn't today look
[38:40]at the rates of depression amongst women and distress they have to
[38:46]handle the problem with some of these movements to liberate women one
[38:50]you know sometimes all they've achieved is to increase the burden on
[38:55]women to increase the workload allah subhanaw taala and the religion of
[39:05]Islam does not overburden anyone especially a woman alas my vagina does
[39:11]not overburden them ladies a nebari said i'm teaches us beautifully how
[39:15]to manage between these roles of being a mother who cares about
[39:19]her house of being a wife who respects her husband and at
[39:25]the same time a woman who's active in her society who is
[39:30]a leader a leader who can make a difference these are some
[39:35]lessons brothers and sisters that we can lie we can learn from
[39:39]the life of ladies a nevada has salaam we ask allah subhanaw
[39:42]taala to open our hearts to the path of guidance so we
[39:48]can learn from the experience of Lady Zainab alehissalaam to take that
[39:54]courage on the one hand and chastity modesty her job on the
[40:01]other hand with this combination sisters and this is for you really
[40:07]with this combination you have the most powerful tool in society no
[40:13]other group has a power like that and this is the power
[40:15]that we seek from ladies a neva [Music]
