In the seventh and final lecture of our series about Intercession (Shafa'ah), Sayed Mohammed Baqer Al-Qazwini examines the position of monotheistic religions when it comes to the topic of intercession, sharing interesting facts and stories along the discussion. Furthermore, we learn about the immense benefits of helping and praying for others, and how it opens vast doors of Divine mercy. ____________________________________________ Verse of Discussion: “Whoever intercedes for a good cause will have a reward therefrom; and whoever intercedes for an evil cause will have a burden therefrom.” - Surah al-Nisa'a, Verse 85 Al-Rasoul Islamic Society || Day 10 - The Holy Month of Ramadan 2018

[0:02][Music] audhu billahi min as-shaytan ar-rajim bismillah ar-rahman ar-rahim I begin in
[0:17]the name of the Almighty God the compassionate the merciful the one
[0:23]who has created everything in utmost perfection and may the peace and
[0:27]blessings of the Almighty God be upon his pure and beloved messenger
[0:35]the peak of his creation the symbol of humanity the holy prophet
[0:42]muhammad sallallahu alayhe wa ala long saliano muhammad and his immaculate progeny
[0:48]of the and bathed peace be upon them especially the leader of
[0:52]our time the awaited Saviour and Imam al-mahdi arjun allahu ta'ala firaga
[0:59]may God hasten his reappearance and make us all amongst us sincere
[1:03]and dedicated servants the Almighty God states in the holy quran allah
[1:09]ar-rahman ar-rahim maiiesh fuscia far attend hasana yaqula lahu no-sebum min ha
[1:16]wah maiiesh watch afar attend saya yaku level kiplyn min ha the
[1:24]one who intercedes for a good cause shall have a share of
[1:30]the good outcome and the one who intercedes for an evil cause
[1:34]shall have a share of the burden of the evil outcome sadat
[1:42]allahu la li u levine illuminates your hearts and minds with a
[1:48]very loud Salawat Allah Allah we have reached the last part and
[1:56]segment in our series on Shafa intercession we have examined the verses
[2:02]of the holy quran that address intercession and shafa we have examined
[2:10]the types of intercession we have examined eleven intercessors and the greatest
[2:17]of them being the holy prophet muhammad sallallahu alayhi wa la ilaha
[2:21]illa Allah muhammadun Juana Muhammad we have examined eight conditions for intercession
[2:28]we've also discussed a very important point does chiffon intercession embolden people
[2:35]to commit sins we have also examined Tolleson if someone has passed
[2:43]away a prophet has passed away is it valid to ask that
[2:51]deceased prophet to intercede on your behalf and also other righteous servants
[2:56]of God and tonight we will examine two very important discussions within
[3:04]the issue of chiffon the first is the position of the monotheistic
[3:10]religions when it comes to chiffon do we find the discussion of
[3:16]chiffon only in the religion of Islam what do other monotheistic faiths
[3:23]say about safar and secondly we will talk about a chiffon that
[3:28]this verse which I recited talks about which is intercession here in
[3:34]this world that is applicable to people helping one another let us
[3:39]now examine the first very important point is the issue of Shiva
[3:46]I unique to the religion of Islam or do we find it
[3:49]in other previous religions if you examine and analyze intercession you will
[3:54]find that thousands of years before the holy quran and the religion
[4:01]of islam the concept of shafa'a existed in previous religions if you
[4:07]examine ancient Judaism you will find that they had the concept of
[4:13]chiffon and they believed in types of chiffon for example they believed
[4:20]in the paternal blessings of Prophet Abraham peace be upon him that
[4:25]was passed down to his children which was a form of intercession
[4:28]in Shafa they also believed in the shafa'a of the angel mica
[4:36]l we Muslims also believe in angel mica l he is one
[4:39]of the greatest angels of God Allah Spano - Allah mentions him
[4:44]in the Holy Quran mica in is the leader of the angels
[4:46]and he threw him Allah subhana WA Ta'ala delivers to us our
[4:54]result and sustenance Allah writes the sustenance for you who execute that
[4:59]who delivers that sustenance to every being in creation that's the angel
[5:05]mica in you find that in ancient Judaism they used to pray
[5:09]through the angel mica in to have God bless them and give
[5:16]them sustenance and they believed that the angel mica L would protect
[5:19]Israel for them this was an ancient Jewish belief not only is
[5:24]this limited to an angel many Jews also believed in the shafa'ah
[5:32]of righteous individuals they call them Sodom which means righteous truthful which
[5:41]is probably the equivalent equivalent of the Sadiq the one who is
[5:47]excessively righteous and truthful many of them they believed that if you
[5:51]asked for their intercession they can intercede on your behalf now this
[5:55]is disputed in Judaism just like it is disputed amongst Muslims right
[6:00]is this valid if a righteous servant died can I ask for
[6:06]their shafa the Hasidic Jews believe in that they say yes what's
[6:10]the problem if these righteous servants of God are righteous even if
[6:15]they've died why can't I ask them to to sit on my
[6:20]behalf with allah subhanho to honor whereas you have other strands of
[6:23]Judaism who will reject that and they will say no this is
[6:29]idolatry this is polytheism this is shirk and this is not acceptable
[6:33]so you have this debate even within Judaism let's now go to
[6:37]Christianity within the Christian faith you will find that Catholics for example
[6:43]believe in the intercession of Saints whom they believe are righteous servants
[6:50]of God especially the martyrs those who died in the way of
[6:57]God they believe the martyrs they pass into the presence of God
[7:01]and they receive their sustenance from God and so they can intercede
[7:05]on your behalf now Protestants they dispute this they say no only
[7:11]Jesus can intercede for us with God as for the Saints they
[7:14]don't have that power so you find interestingly that even within the
[7:20]Christian faith this is a debate when it comes to the shafa
[7:27]are the intercession of righteous servants of God now let's examine the
[7:34]difference between the Islamic concept of shafa'ah and the Christian concept because
[7:38]Christians believe that God sent His Son Jesus to die on the
[7:46]cross and to intercede on our behalf to save us from our
[7:50]sins let us spend some moments analyzing this Christian belief and see
[7:55]if this is compatible with the Islamic belief we both believe in
[8:02]safar but there's a fundamental difference even though there are similarities let's
[8:05]examine some of these fundamental differences when you examine the concept of
[8:12]shafa'ah intercession in Christianity you find that it is based on the
[8:20]original sin what is the original sin when God created Adam in
[8:25]the garden of Eve he sinned Christianity considers him to be the
[8:31]first sinner whereas Islam considers him to be the first prophet you
[8:37]see the difference between these two views one religion views him as
[8:42]the first sinner another religion views him as the first prophet of
[8:46]God the Holy Quran has a lot of respect for Adam in
[8:50]the last afar ademma wuhan wale Brahimi Mehran unless panel Tata says
[8:55]I've chosen Adam he's my Khalifa he's my representative on earth whereas
[9:00]if you look at Christianity it really does view Adam negatively and
[9:07]they consider him the first sinner whereas we consider him the first
[9:09]prophet so this idea of the original sin is that he sinned
[9:18]and because he send humanity inherited the sin people became sinful because
[9:26]they inherited that original and first sin and so all human beings
[9:32]who came after Adam are guilty in the eyes of God they
[9:38]are sinful in the eyes of God now why are they sinful
[9:43]if Adam committed the sin they have two views the first one
[9:48]states I done carried all people in the form of seeds in
[9:53]his back in his loins so that means when he committed that
[10:00]sin everyone committed the sin with him because he carries humanity in
[10:05]him in seed form that's one way the second view is that
[10:09]he is our representative like your father right if someone from your
[10:13]immediate family does something wrong you're also held responsible your family is
[10:19]held responsible so Adam created the sin and the entire human family
[10:24]is responsible now Christians have different ways of understanding the original sin
[10:31]but probably the most prominent view is the Calvinist view if you
[10:37]examine Calvinism within Christianity they clearly tell you that you're born sinful
[10:43]even if you're not an adult yet you're just a child you're
[10:46]still guilty in the eyes of God st.
[10:49]Augustine the famous Christian theologian he firmly believes that all human beings
[10:56]are born sinful so now because we are all born sinful God
[11:04]had to send Jesus to die on the cross so that God
[11:06]forgives us from that sin and other sins this is the idea
[11:13]of shafa'ah in Christian theology we inherited that sin so God had
[11:18]to send his son as they say to die on the cross
[11:21]and to intercede on our behalf now if you believe in Jesus
[11:27]that's it you're saved and that original sin is forgiven and your
[11:29]other sins are forgiven this is the fundamental view of intercession in
[11:35]Christianity what is the position of Islam in the religion of Islam
[11:40]Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala makes it very clear to us that if
[11:46]you commit a sin why would others be held responsible while at
[11:51]Azurill wasiatun was Allah Allah makes it very clear that if someone
[11:56]else makes a sin you cannot be held responsible for it because
[12:01]that is not compatible with the Justice of Allah subhana WA Ta'ala
[12:04]first of all we don't accept that Adam sinned he did not
[12:08]take the advice of Allah but he did not sin but assuming
[12:10]that he said why do we have to pay the price for
[12:14]it if my grandfather did something wrong why does God see me
[12:19]guilty why does God see me sinful so the religion of Islam
[12:22]is firm on the Justice of Allah and it makes it very
[12:27]clear that God will not hold you accountable for the sins of
[12:31]other people something that someone else did this is the first point
[12:38]the second point in the religion of Islam we do accept that
[12:41]Prophet Esaias alive has the power of chiffon he's one of the
[12:46]great messengers of God and Allah has authorized him as we have
[12:51]examined from Sunni and Shia boots that the prophets of allah allahu
[12:54]allah states on the day of judgment the prophets will intercede prophet
[12:58]Jesus is a great servant of God he has a high status
[13:04]with God and he intercedes but not by him dying on the
[13:07]cross you're automatically forgiven and just believe that he's the savior and
[13:12]you're forgiven regardless of what you do no it's lamb says if
[13:18]you follow the teachings of Prophet ASA his original genuine teachings and
[13:22]you really try to implement his teachings then yes he will intercede
[13:26]on your behalf but just to believe that he died on the
[13:32]cross and that said God automatically forgave humanity that is not something
[13:37]that is acceptable within the religion of Islam so this is the
[13:42]first aspect of shafa'ah that we find in Christianity now there is
[13:46]an extension to this to the concept of intercession in Christianity there's
[13:52]an extension to it which comes in the form of confessions for
[14:00]example in Catholicism you will find that not only Saints or Jesus
[14:05]can intercede on your behalf if you have committed sins you can
[14:09]go to a priest go to any priest in that confession box
[14:15]and that confession rule confess your sins say a few Hail Marys
[14:18]donate something to the church and you're forgiven in fact some Catholics
[14:24]believe that it's mandatory it's Rajab that at least once a year
[14:31]you go and confess your sins especially if they're big sins for
[14:35]their major sins you have to go and confess to have your
[14:37]sins forgiven for for for centuries and centuries this has been common
[14:46]practice within Catholicism now not all Christians believe in this the Protestants
[14:49]for example they don't believe in the confession you don't go to
[14:53]a priest a reverend a religious leader and confess they believe that
[14:58]if you've committed sins just ask God to forgive you no need
[15:02]to go and confess to another human being yes many Protestants believe
[15:06]that if you've run someone let's say your sin was that you
[15:12]dear friend in addition to confessing to God and asking God to
[15:18]forgive you you can go to that friend and also confess and
[15:21]tell your friend I've wronged you I admit please forgive me many
[15:25]Protestants do believe in that but other than that they don't believe
[15:30]in the idea of you going to a priest and confessing your
[15:33]sins so there are differences within Christianity but Catholicism gives great importance
[15:40]to confession and going to a priest to have your sins forgiven
[15:44]you know once a dear friend of mine he said he says
[15:50]I was in Italy one day and I went to a church
[15:54]as I was passing by he passes by the confession room where
[15:57]you have this guy going to the priest to confess he says
[16:02]as soon as this Italian guy walked into the confession room the
[16:08]priest without before even hearing his case what is his sin what
[16:12]has he done the minute he entered into that room and he
[16:17]saw the priest the priest looked at him and he told him
[16:20]Paolo here we go again there are some people they keep committing
[16:28]the same sin over and over and over and they go to
[16:30]their priest and to ask him for forgiveness and he somehow forgives
[16:35]them this is a Catholic belief you know they say once this
[16:38]lady she goes to confess for her sins she goes and she
[16:43]meets the priest now he was lowering his head he's not seeing
[16:45]her he tells her dear what have you done tell me she
[16:51]doesn't I've committed a very big sin he tells her what's that
[16:53]big sin she tells him it's the sin of pride the sin
[16:58]of vanity he tells her I don't get it explain to me
[17:00]what's that sin what's the sin of pride she told him every
[17:05]day twice a day I go in front of the mirror and
[17:10]I look at myself and I realize how beautiful I am and
[17:13]so I'm committing the sin of pride and vanity up until that
[17:18]point he wasn't looking at her he was lowering his head when
[17:20]she said that he was like hey let me see what's going
[17:24]on over here so he takes a good look at her then
[17:27]he tells her dear dear that's not a sin that's just a
[17:32]big awful mistake now we find that this is very important and
[17:37]Catholicism in fact if you go back about 500 years ago they
[17:46]had another version of this type of intercession which is really interesting
[17:52]you would actually go to the priests not only would the priests
[17:57]forgive you for your sins they would sell indulgences that means that
[18:03]you go and buy a ticket to paradise you go to the
[18:08]priest you give an amount of money and the priest will tell
[18:12]you okay now that you've given this money you've secured a place
[18:17]in paradise now you have access to heaven in fact some of
[18:20]them would go and pay on behalf of their families if they
[18:25]have a family member who lived a sinful life who was not
[18:28]necessarily a good believer they would go pay to save them from
[18:34]Birkett purgatory and hell and to take them to paradise you know
[18:36]they say one day this man he walked into church and there
[18:42]was this huge line of people waiting to meet the priest to
[18:45]buy a land in Paradise because that day that priest was actually
[18:49]selling parcels in paradise so he looks at the long line he
[18:56]goes he stands when it's his turn he enters and he tells
[18:58]him priest I want to buy all of paradise can you sell
[19:02]it to me says no that's too expensive you don't have the
[19:05]money how much money do you have it's like I just have
[19:10]100 coins it's like 100 coins you could just buy what are
[19:12]two parcels you can't buy all of paradise he thinks for awhile
[19:17]he tells him okay I've got another deal I'll buy help from
[19:20]you can you sell hell to me he figures like what do
[19:24]you want to do with him he's like I just wanted my
[19:27]help would you sell it to me for a hundred coins you
[19:29]know the priest thinks hey why not take this money hundred coins
[19:34]is not bad and I'm not selling him heaven he's buying hell
[19:36]let him buy him to hell with him so he says fine
[19:40]I sell hell to you he's like write it for me on
[19:43]a piece of paper I want the deep that I own hell
[19:46]he says okay I'll write it for you he takes it out
[19:49]he goes out and he calls on all those people standing in
[19:54]line he's like people people you no longer need to buy anything
[19:57]in Paradise I've purchased hell it belongs to me and no one's
[20:00]allowed to enter now in the sixteenth century I think maybe not
[20:07]exactly sure what year was it maybe 1517 the church actually bans
[20:14]that it bans the church from selling indulgences but this was a
[20:19]type of intercession and shafa'ah that they did have now what is
[20:22]the Islamic perspective on confessing does Islam encourage you to go to
[20:30]a religious leader for example to someone who's wise a righteous person
[20:37]and confess to them your sins let's first make a distinction between
[20:44]admitting your faults and mistakes and admitting your sins there's a fundamental
[20:48]difference between them it is a virtue to admit your mistakes it
[20:55]subverts you to admit that you're wrong when you were wrong some
[20:59]people the last thing they'll do in the world is to admit
[21:03]that they're wrong aslam teaches you to be humble be humble don't
[21:08]say I am always right I know all the truths and you're
[21:13]all wrong be humble if you've made a mistake say I've made
[21:15]a mistake if you don't know say I don't know there's no
[21:19]harm in that that's actually a virtue a sign of humbleness a
[21:24]sign of humility studies have actually been performed on children who admit
[21:30]that they're wrong or they admit that they don't know such children
[21:34]grow up to be more creative they make more discoveries and generally
[21:39]speaking they are more successful so if you want to be successful
[21:43]in this life it's okay admit that you're wrong if you're wrong
[21:48]whether it's from a managerial position that you made mistakes whether it's
[21:53]a person relationship a husband fights with his wife and then later
[21:58]he realizes that he was wrong admit that you were wrong apologized
[22:01]that's a virtue however when it comes to sins that you have
[22:10]privately committed should you confess them to someone or not let's examine
[22:15]the hadith of the prophet sallallahu alayhi wa ala and the Imams
[22:18]of a debate the hadith of the Prophet and the Imams of
[22:23]a debate peace be upon them all are very clear that it
[22:26]is a sin if you have committed a sin privately it's a
[22:33]sin to talk about that sin it's a sin to confess that
[22:38]sin in front of others even your friends many friends you know
[22:41]they have the habit when they get together they talk about their
[22:45]sinful life yesterday I did this the other day I committed that
[22:51]sin last month I committed that other sin the religion of Islam
[22:55]says it's Haram it's prohibited to talk about your personal sins we
[22:59]have a number of narrations that tell us a lot condemns the
[23:04]one who talks openly about his sins don't share it with anyone
[23:10]why for a number of reasons I'll mention two first of all
[23:15]when you talk about your personal sins you normalize sin in society
[23:21]see if I'm in a gathering and I have five friends my
[23:24]first friend tells me you know the other day I committed this
[23:30]sin and the second friend admits he sinned and the third friend
[23:33]and the fourth friend and the fifth one when I'm looking at
[23:36]all of that psychologically what's happening to me I will think you
[23:39]know what it's normal if my good friends are committing these sins
[23:44]it's not the end of the world if I commit those sins
[23:45]I'm just like one of them it makes it normal in the
[23:50]eyes of people and that in itself corrupt society it encourages you
[23:56]to commit more sins when you've sat with a group of friends
[24:00]and they've talked about sins when you leave that gathering you're more
[24:03]likely to do those same sins that you've heard about so it's
[24:07]very important to normalize ins don't talk about the sins you've committed
[24:12]in your private life the prophet sallallaahu Eileen who on estates and
[24:15]one hadith if you've said if you've sinned in private and Allah
[24:18]concealed you the setter of Allah Allah protected you don't go exposing
[24:26]yourself in front of anyone don't expose that you'll normalize sin that's
[24:30]the first negative consequence the second negative consequence when it comes to
[24:36]confessing your sins others around you well over time view you negatively
[24:42]you know sometimes you have an image of someone and you have
[24:48]respect for that person if that person keeps telling you about their
[24:52]sins over time you might lose respect even if that person is
[24:56]very close to you even your spouse you know these days when
[25:01]a young man and woman they get engaged their fiance's right they're
[25:06]engaged usually as they're getting to know one another they open their
[25:11]dark secrets and the dark past sometimes they even open that can
[25:16]of worms of what they've done when I was young in my
[25:21]teenage years in my college years and I know they have the
[25:23]good intention they're just telling one another what they've done but realize
[25:27]when you do that sometimes it has damage if this guy he's
[25:32]hearing about what she's done in her teenage years that could repel
[25:36]him maybe initially he'll not admit it to you but over time
[25:43]he will get repelled we've known people who've had actually to break
[25:48]up their engagement or their marriage because of this the other spouse
[25:53]he was living day after day with these ideas of my spouse
[25:57]committing these sins before marriage and the same with the guy when
[26:03]she hears about him and how he was wild in his teenage
[26:05]years she's going to lose some respect for him so that could
[26:11]alter your image and Allah wants the Muslims and the believers and
[26:15]good citizens to always have a good reputation in society some people
[26:19]soupçon Allah they themselves ruined own reputation they themselves expose themselves in
[26:25]the religion of Islam Allah Spanish Allah prohibits you from going to
[26:30]anyone and talking about your sins even a religious leader yes you
[26:38]can ask for advice if you're stuck in a sinful habit you
[26:41]can go to an elder to someone who was wise to a
[26:46]trusted friend to a religious scholar and ask them for general advice
[26:49]you know if someone's stuck in such a situation what do they
[26:52]do how do you get them out but don't go talking about
[26:56]your personal details and these sins you've committed a last final to
[27:00]Allah considers that in itself is a sin so when the religion
[27:04]of Islam a last Panama trial that discourages us from going to
[27:08]anyone and confessing and remember in the end that priest that you're
[27:13]confessing to is not infallible as a human like you may have
[27:21]sins like you confess your sins to Allah your Lord directly go
[27:24]to Allah you don't need a human being who's sinful like you
[27:29]to have your sins forgiven so in the religion of Islam we
[27:34]are encouraged to keep our sins between us and allah subhanaw taala
[27:39]don't go exposing your sins and we've made a distinction between admitting
[27:45]your faults and confessing your sins there's a big difference admitting your
[27:48]faults is positive it's good it indicates humbleness don't ever act as
[27:53]a fewer correct all the time and you're infallible and everything you
[27:59]do is correct be open to listening to the criticism of other
[28:02]people and be open to change and admit if you have any
[28:08]faults and shortcomings yes instead of confessing your sins to other people
[28:13]Aslan teaches you to go and ask them to ask Allah to
[28:20]forgive you that's one of the best things you can do if
[28:25]there are sins you're really struggling with and you've asked Allah span
[28:29]over to Allah and you're still struggling with it it's highly encouraged
[28:32]to go to a fellow believer and start your parents node are
[28:38]stronger than the DA of your parents especially your mother go to
[28:42]your mother and tell her mother I really need your daughter I'm
[28:45]struggling with something don't expose any details I am struggling with something
[28:50]please ask a lot to help me and to forgive me if
[28:55]you see a fellow brother a fellow sister in society ask them
[28:58]to ask Allah to forgive you there is nothing more beautiful than
[29:05]asking the believers to forgive you and allah subhanaw taala loves the
[29:09]one who prays for other fellow believers the hadith states if you
[29:14]start your doors you know we don't know the etiquette of praying
[29:18]to Allah spano to Allah when we want to pray to our
[29:23]last panel to Allah we just start praying sometimes angrily as if
[29:29]we have a favor on God and we demand from Allah Soprano
[29:31]to other as if Allah is my servant sometimes some people that's
[29:35]how they talk to Allah we don't know the etiquette of am
[29:38]praying to Allah the amantani Saddam teaches us there's an etiquette before
[29:42]you ask for your needs start by praising Allah glorifying Allah spano
[29:49]to Allah thank Allah for the many blessings he's given you do
[29:52]that then pray for your needs the Imam says I guarantee you
[29:58]Allah will fulfill your needs now one of the important conditions of
[30:02]having your dua fulfilled start by praying for other believers then pray
[30:09]for yourself Allah Spano - Anna will answer your prayer because Allah
[30:14]will say this person is not selfish he cares about other fellow
[30:19]believers in society if he took time to pray for them before
[30:23]praying for his own self and his family I will grant him
[30:27]his wish and that's what we learned from Lady Fatima is Sarah
[30:30]and Imam Hassan Ali said I'm States I bear witness I would
[30:35]see my mother the entire night she's standing on her feet praying
[30:39]to allah subhana wa ta'ala and then she would pray for the
[30:41]people she would pray for the neighbors and everyone in society and
[30:47]the last thing she would pray is for her house so I
[30:50]asked her mom you pray for the neighbors more than us she
[30:55]told me banana al ja from my dear son the neighbor comes
[30:59]first this is the etiquette of prayer this isn't what we learned
[31:02]from the a debate peace be upon them it's highly recommended if
[31:07]you ask a lot to forgive your sins ask him first to
[31:09]forgive the sins of others you know al even Maziar was one
[31:16]of the great companions of Alabama Joe Adonis Anna Ali bin Marcia
[31:22]had an amazing habit every single morning he was a scholar he
[31:27]authored books he was a busy man and he was a businessman
[31:33]he made living for himself so he wasn't someone lazy who had
[31:37]extra free time but look at what he would do every morning
[31:41]these are the students of animates my dear brothers and sisters every
[31:47]morning after sunrise he would go into sujood and he would ask
[31:52]Allah to forgive 1000 of those brothers and sisters whom he knows
[32:03]he mentions them by name how long does it take to mention
[32:06]1000 people by name an hour two hours I don't know this
[32:14]was his daily habit and this is a student of an imam
[32:17]al joy and you know for us some of us if we
[32:20]occasionally pray salat to Leila a lot of people ask this you
[32:26]know it's highly mustahab in the last like like I tell what
[32:28]when you do the knut you ask Allah to forgive 40 people
[32:33]mention them by name a lot of people ask this question say
[32:36]it can I just do I have to mention them by name
[32:39]or can I just say oh Allah forgive my friends and family
[32:41]and everyone it's okay you can do that but you don't have
[32:46]the time two minutes to mention 40 people by name next time
[32:50]remember Ali bin Maziar every day he would mention 1,000 people by
[32:58]name these are the students of Alan Bates peace be upon them
[33:02]so we asked others to do to our for us and that's
[33:07]a beautiful chiffon now this leads us to the verse which I
[33:11]opened the discussion with and that is worldly shafa that is applicable
[33:15]to all of us a last panel tonight estates of the holy
[33:22]quran manufacture far attend hisana yaqula lahu naseeban min ha if you
[33:27]intercede on behalf of someone for a good cause Allah will give
[33:36]you a share of the good outcome if you have power position
[33:40]in society use that to help others we have so many narrations
[33:45]my dear brothers and sisters that tell us there is nothing more
[33:52]beloved to allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala than to help someone fulfill their needs
[33:57]if Allah has given you power and position you know an imam
[34:00]sadiq ali salam states there's a cat of your position is the
[34:06]shofar for the people if you have a position in society you're
[34:09]well respected you have a business you are an elected official people
[34:14]listen to you you can make arrangements the amount says you have
[34:20]as a car to pay there's a charity to pay for that
[34:22]what's the zakat use that position to help someone allah subhanahu wa
[34:28]ta'ala will expect this zakat for music art is not just money
[34:31]that you pay it's also using your power to help people in
[34:34]society there's nothing more beloved to allah than helping someone fulfill their
[34:40]need one hadith from the imam alayhis-salam states the one who fulfills
[34:46]the need of his brother Allah subhana WA Ta'ala will give him
[34:55]one thousand thousand husana you know how much that is one thousand
[35:00]multiplied by one thousand that's 1 million - 1 million has sent
[35:04]her brothers and sisters that's not a joke if you fulfill the
[35:07]in fact and what hadith the Imam says men Sarah if you
[35:12]make the effort sometimes you make the effort but it doesn't happen
[35:15]right the amount says if you make the effort you try to
[35:20]fulfill their need our last panel - Allah gives you that reward
[35:23]and another hadith the Imam are in Salaam states fulfilling the need
[35:32]of someone in your society using your connections using your status to
[35:38]help someone Allah subhana WA Ta'ala considers that more valuable than nine
[35:43]thousand years of ibadah fasting every day and worshipping and praying all
[35:49]night launch for nine thousand years once a man from Beni a
[35:56]said he meets an imam and bak irani said i'm or an
[36:01]imam sadiq ali salam after the hajj he performs the hajj he
[36:03]goes to the imam ali sarah when he meets the a man
[36:07]he tells him imam what's the reward for my hajj the last
[36:09]panel - allah has given me the imam ali salam tells him
[36:14]allah has forgiven you for six thousand sins Allah has given you
[36:18]six thousand good deeds Allah has elevated your status on the day
[36:21]of judgement six thousand degrees and Allah will fulfill for you on
[36:28]the day of judgement six thousand needs for going to the hundred
[36:32]he was shocked he said the abbe Nanosuit Allah Wow all this
[36:36]reward the Imam Mahdi's sallam told and let me tell you something
[36:41]if you consider this reward a lot let me tell you something
[36:44]if you fulfill the need of your brother and society Allah will
[36:54]give you the reward of one had no two three four until
[36:57]he counts him just by fulfilling the need of someone in your
[37:03]society that shafa'a husana that the Quran talks about intercede on behalf
[37:11]of people help them get what they want help them find a
[37:15]way out of their problems in one hadith the holy prophet sallahu
[37:18]aleihi honest states the best shafa you can do for two people
[37:24]is to get them married that's very important there are many youth
[37:27]in our society they'd like to get me they kept either they
[37:31]don't know someone who's appropriate for them or they don't have the
[37:35]financial stability to get married if you use your status your financial
[37:41]status or you introduce them to someone the Prophet says if you
[37:47]join between two people in marriage that is the best Shafa that
[37:52]our last panel to Allah will accept from you you are doing
[37:54]Shafa I here in this world for other people you don't think
[37:57]Allah will give you the maximal Shiva on the day of judgement
[37:59]another hadith states one of the best types of intercession in the
[38:05]world and chiffon and helping others if someone's in debt and they're
[38:10]stuck and they have no way out help them get out of
[38:15]that debt this is one of the best types of Shiva you
[38:17]can give to the people and in last panel to Allah on
[38:21]the day of judgment will shade you under his throne on that
[38:25]very hot day when everyone will be seeking a shade man yesh
[38:32]watch afar attend husana here kun Lihue naseeban min ha la will
[38:36]give you a share of that good outcome but then here's the
[38:41]warning some people subhanAllah they're the exact opposite Romania shafa attend say
[38:47]Ya Ya Allah who kill on min ha the same verse states
[38:56]but if you intercede for an evil cause you use your power
[38:59]and influence and position and money to ruin people's lives the Quran
[39:05]says the burden will be on you you will share that burden
[39:13]as well yes there are negative chiffons there are many people they
[39:17]use their power and position and influence to ruin lives instead of
[39:21]helping people saving people bringing hearts closer you see they ruin the
[39:26]hearts and they cost fitna and society that is the worst type
[39:31]of chiffon and these people will be held responsible in the eyes
[39:34]of Allah subhana Mouton so my dear friends as we conclude the
[39:39]discussion on shafa remember aside from that show that we've talked about
[39:45]and the greatest Shafie and intercessors the holy prophet muhammad sallallahu alayhi
[39:50]wa LA remember that here in this world if you expect the
[39:59]shafa of allah and the animal bait you also enter seed on
[40:04]behalf of people for a good cause that will maximize your chances
[40:10]of receiving intercession on the day of judgment and let's never ever
[40:16]forget my dear friends the rama of Allah on the day of
[40:20]judgment we've talked about so far and how that gives us hope
[40:26]it is our hope but remember that the mercy of God the
[40:30]Lamb of Allah is the most powerful sheffy an intercessor that we
[40:39]have philosopher a to jamia Allah ultimately has the greatest chef on
[40:45]the day of judgment the names of Allah are actually intercessors for
[40:50]us yah-yah-yah rahim the hadith states turned to Allah through these beautiful
[40:58]99 beautiful names of Allah every name reflects one reality about the
[41:04]essence of God these names are your means to allah subhanaw taala
[41:08]never forget the rama of god i'll share with you one hadith
[41:14]from the imam ali salam he states all of the mercy that
[41:17]God has created divided into 100 parts look at the mercy that
[41:25]exists in this world every mother how she is merciful to her
[41:29]child even the Imam says the animals have mercy on each other
[41:31]have you seen animals raising their offspring they have so much mercy
[41:37]sometimes animals are willing to die to save their offspring the Imam
[41:46]says all of the Mercy humanity has ever saw in history as
[41:51]one part out of 100 parts 1% then the Imam says Allah
[42:01]has kept 99% on the day of judgement to forgive the sinful
[42:06]ones and to save the people that's the Lamb of God one
[42:11]hadith states on the day of judgment but if you are familiar
[42:12]with this but remind yourself in the month of Ramadhan of the
[42:15]mercy of God the hadith states on the day of judgement a
[42:19]person was so sinful no intercessor could intercede on his behalf the
[42:24]eleven that we talked none of them could save him so Allah
[42:29]says take him to hell the angels are graduating him into hell
[42:32]right before being pushed into hell he looks back he looks back
[42:42]alas Panama - Allah talks to him on the day of judgement
[42:46]Allah tells and my servant why did you look back my slave
[42:53]why did you look back waiting for someone waiting for something why
[42:58]did you look back with embarrassment he will say o Allah I
[43:03]know I'm sinful I know I deserve this punishment I admit I
[43:06]know my deeds couldn't save me but I just didn't think you
[43:12]would throw me I just didn't think I just had so fussing
[43:15]when and good opinions about you I just had so much hope
[43:20]in your mercy I just didn't think I would reach the edge
[43:21]of hell Allah subhana WA Ta'ala tells the angels my angels because
[43:28]even at this moment right before being pushed into hell because he
[43:33]still has hope in my Rama I forgiven him leave him save
[43:37]him this is the Rama of Allah my dear brothers and sisters
[43:43]in the month of Ramadan let's turn to Allah let's pray to
[43:48]the Almighty God and let's not forget those intercessors Allah spano -
[43:55]Allah has appointed for us turn to the handle bay turn to
[43:57]the holy prophets on Allahu Allahu Allah the more you ask them
[44:01]to be your sheffy the more you will be granted their intercession
[44:04]I will read a few lines of poetry from al-imam Ali Vitaliy
[44:10]bodies Salaam you know the Imam has a number of menage art
[44:16]beautiful supplications intimate supplications with God this is called al Minaj at
[44:23]Alma MoMA and beautiful lines of poetry in Arabic the imam ali
[44:25]salaam talks to allah let's turn to allah and then he concludes
[44:29]by asking for the chiffon of the holy prophet sallallahu alayhi wa
[44:33]allen the imam a nice Salam in the menagerie says like alhamdulillah
[44:43]you journey while imagine you Winona table I like to tour teman

[45:00]and you denying whomever you want la la la hora de la
[45:11]la del Rosario Elias or EF is Allah my wrath my refuge
[45:21]my resort my protector whenever I am in difficulty or even if
[45:26]I'm in the good days I resort to your mercy o Allah
[45:30]I go to you you will protect me from everything than the
[45:36]Imam and Islam States allahi langella Raja met cutting a tea for
[45:43]a fukken than being a Genoa oh oh Allah if my sin
[45:49]has grown to be too big then your Rahman is greater than
[45:52]myself your mercy o Allah it's greater and more vast and more
[46:02]powerful than my sin it's bigger than my sin when I compared
[46:05]my sin to your greatness what is my sin compared to your
[46:11]greatness oh Allah then in the end the Imam teaches us whenever
[46:15]you pray to Allah conclude that draw by asking a lot to
[46:19]give you the shafa'a of the Holy Prophet sallallaahu and you are
