[0:23]alhamdulilla Muhammad respected brothers and sisters we mentioned in the last few

[0:51]nights that Allah subhanahu wa taala may share some of his knowledge

[0:57]of the Unseen with his Messengers and Prophets and through that knowledge

[1:05]those Messengers will be able to predict the future they will be

[1:11]able to provide prophecies that will happen in the future and indeed

[1:16]when we look at our history books when we look at the

[1:22]Quran when we look at the ofam we find that the prophet

[1:29]sallallah alai Al made many prophecies many predictions that actually came true

[1:34]some of them they came true during the beginning of Islam with

[1:39]his companions we said that the prophet told his companion Amar you

[1:43]will be killed by a rebellious unjust group and this is exactly

[1:47]what happened Amar y was killed by mua when mua rebelled against

[1:54]the IM of his time or for example he used to tell

[2:03]IM Ali of how he will die in the month of Ramadan

[2:04]and we'll talk more about that tomorrow night inshallah as we commemorate

[2:10]the Shah of numerous times would remind and tell IM Ali of

[2:16]this prophecy how you will be killed in the Masjid in the

[2:21]month of Ramadan and the blood of the strike of your enemy

[2:24]it will soak your beard and this is exactly what happened other

[2:28]prophecies we have from that happened for example was a prophecy that

[2:34]he told his companion Zu he told him oh Zu a day

[2:39]will come in which you will fight against Al and you will

[2:44]be on the wrong side you will be on the side of

[2:46]B he told his wife a day will come in which you

[2:50]will fight against and while you are going to fight in the

[2:58]battle of jam he told her that you will hear the dogs

[3:06]of Al the dogs of alab an area called Al will bark

[3:09]at you and Subhan Allah how the time went until that year

[3:15]came the Battle of jaml Allah informed of this years agoa is

[3:19]going to fight IM Ali where in albas while she's going there

[3:24]she hears all of the sudden all these dogs barking at her

[3:30]and this is mentioned in an authentic Hadith in musn Ahmed that

[3:34]the editor editors of the book of musnad Ahmed say this Hadith

[3:38]authentic reliable so she heard dogs barking she asked her companions where

[3:45]are we what is the name of this place they told her

[3:48]this is a place called Al when she heard the word right

[3:56]away she remembered the prophecy of that a day will come in

[3:59]which you will go to fight and the dogs of will bark

[4:08]at you this is whena said take me back to Medina take

[4:11]me back because unfortunately the prediction and the prophecy of has happened

[4:17]but then unfortunately they manipulated and they deceived her into thinking no

[4:23]this was not Al so she continued and she went and waged

[4:25]that deadly war against likewise when we read the of and the

[4:33]traditions of we find certain predictions and prophecies that made 1,400 years

[4:42]ago we see them unfolding today we see them coming becoming true

[4:47]today in our lives for example there's a famous Hadith that is

[4:54]narrated by both sh books and Sunni books the Hadith attributes to

[4:58]a prophecy that he makes so about the end of times or

[5:05]about the Muslims many years to come the prophet told his companions

[5:09]one day he said a day will come in which all the

[5:17]nations they will gather around you from every direction and they will

[5:25]pounce on you like predators and they will start biting you just

[5:32]like you are a prey meaning all the nations they will conspire

[5:41]against you Muslims he told his companions this his companions the Hadith

[5:45]said they ask them is it because we will be a minority

[5:53]there won't be too many Muslims and that's why the superpowers or

[6:00]other nations when when they will defeat us when they will take

[6:04]advantage of us and kill us and destroy us is it because

[6:09]we are too little our numbers are small the prophet told them

[6:16]no he said that your numbers will be so great and he

[6:23]gave even the expression the foam that you see on the water

[6:26]you know that white foam sometimes that builds on the water and

[6:32]there will be so many Muslims of you in quantity there will

[6:35]be so much but however your Iman will be weak your hearts

[6:40]will be weak they will your hearts will be filled with fear

[6:43]and your enemies will overpower you because of that many people when

[6:47]they see what's happening today in Palestine and how unfortunately the world

[6:52]has abandoned the Muslims in Palestine 1.8 billion Muslims they cannot do

[6:58]anything in the face of what 20 million or 10 million zionists

[7:05]1.8 billion against 10 million they can't do anything so the numbers

[7:09]are there but what's wrong it's the Iman unfortunately it's the disunity

[7:15]the prophet said because you will start loving the duny more than

[7:19]anything and when we start loving the dun and we love our

[7:22]comfort in the dun more than anything we become indifferent when we

[7:26]see our brothers and sisters being killed left and right and this

[7:31]is truly a travesty that I don't think has happened in history

[7:34]where you find a religion a group that is so large 1.8

[7:38]billion the second largest religion maybe 1/4th of the world's population but

[7:44]yet we are being butchered as if as if Muslims are a

[7:50]very small minority and they have absolutely no power this was a

[7:52]prophecy of Ras wasam that he made over 1,400 years ago so

[8:00]the messengers of Allah subhanahu wa taala they do have given to

[8:08]them from Allah and because of that you find they used to

[8:11]make predictions prophecies that actually came true and many other prophecies that

[8:17]were made by that have yet to come true but they will

[8:21]come true I have many examples but I don't have time to

[8:24]mention more but the question brothers and sisters is here besides the

[8:30]prophets of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala average people like you and I

[8:35]can a normal human being possess knowledge of the G such that

[8:41]they would be able to predict the future such that they would

[8:47]be able to see the future prophesize the future accurately and that

[8:53]which they prophesize becomes true is this possible or is this not

[8:58]possible from an Islamic perspective because you will will see many individuals

[9:02]you will see many examples in your life of people who claim

[9:09]to be fortune tellers individuals who tell you that we can predict

[9:13]the future that we can tell you what will happen in your

[9:15]life what will happen in this dun any wars that will happen

[9:21]people will die viruses you'll be successful not successful when you're going

[9:26]to die in everything that has to do with the future we

[9:29]see many examples and we hear about them in our daily lives

[9:35]but most of what we hear I do not believe is taken

[9:38]seriously because most of the examples of individuals claiming to be psychics

[9:43]claiming to be to have knowledge of the future or fortune tellers

[9:47]most of it we know it's Superstition or it's done for entertainment

[9:53]purposes nobody really believes that this person has knowledge of the Unseen

[9:58]that this person can indeed predict the future accurately and sometimes you

[10:04]find that it becomes a business they start building businesses charging people

[10:10]so that they can what predict their future and I've heard countless

[10:14]stories brothers and sisters of individuals who are desperate who don't know

[10:19]what's going on in their lives who are suffering who are having

[10:23]marriage problems they're having problems with sicknesses any type of problem that

[10:28]you can and all of the sudden Haram they become a pray

[10:31]for a predator yes a predator who claims that they have and

[10:36]I know what's happening and I have the Cure and they claim

[10:41]to have all these details of the Unseen that only Allah subhah

[10:44]wa taala knows and they start charging charging them thousands of dollars

[10:49]now for most individuals what we see in here we don't really

[10:56]believe for example I'll give you two examples of present day for

[11:00]fortune tellers that are not taken seriously by most people or at

[11:03]least I hope they're not taken seriously the first example you've heard

[11:07]of palm readers correct there are people I've personally seen some of

[11:15]them they claim that they can predict your future by interpreting those

[11:22]squiggly lines on your palm take a look at your palm you're

[11:26]going to find a bunch of lines now they tell you these

[11:32]lines are not nonsense they're not just random lines there is knowledge

[11:38]of the Unseen and we can extrapolate that we have the knowledge

[11:44]to interpret these lines in a way in which we can predict

[11:47]your future and a lot of them charge money they will charge

[11:51]you so that they can do palm reading and now I've heard

[11:53]there's online palm reading Services now like I said most people don't

[11:59]take this seriously but there are some individuals especially when they become

[12:03]desperate this is the problem with we we with us human beings

[12:05]when we become desperate we start believing in any nonsense that people

[12:09]sell us so they tell you for example I was reading about

[12:14]palm reading they tell you for example there is a line called

[12:16]the lifeline and that's that round line around your thumb this one

[12:22]they tell you this line predicts your lifespan the longer it is

[12:29]don't look too deep brothers and sisters it's nonsense the longer it

[12:34]is the longer you will live so you go to that Palm

[12:38]Reader he looks at your hand he reads through some strange knowledge

[12:41]that they have they will read that lifeline and they tell you

[12:45]that you're going to live a long life or you're going to

[12:49]live a short life and I bet you they will never tell

[12:50]anyone who they just charged that you're going to live a short

[12:54]life because probably you're going to ask for a refund so this

[12:58]is one example another example was reading is the heart line the

[13:03]heart line is this line it's the horizontal line under your fingers

[13:10]they tell you this line is not meaningless this line can predict

[13:15]your love life will you have a successful love relationship will you

[13:20]find your soulmates and live happily ever after with them or will

[13:25]it just be problems and divorce and masak and whatnot this is

[13:29]all all predicted by this weird line on your palm so they

[13:36]tell you if you have a deep clear line you're lucky you're

[13:39]going to have a very good you're going to have a very

[13:44]comfortable love life alhamdulillah I have that but if you don't if

[13:50]you can barely see it or it's not very clear too bad

[13:52]you're going to suffer in your marriage life and there are some

[13:57]people that actually believe in this but is this real this is

[14:01]nonsense or another example they tell you there is the Fate line

[14:05]so there's the life line and there's the Fate line I have

[14:08]no idea where they get the superstitious beliefs from but this is

[14:11]what they believe in there is a vertical line in the lower

[14:18]Center of your palm right next to the the uh the lifeline

[14:21]they tell you that this line is able to predict your success

[14:29]in life your Finance in life your finances will you have a

[14:34]successful career will you be rich or will you be poor this

[14:39]is all hidden within this line they tell you if the line

[14:42]is straight if the line is is very clear it's not squiggly

[14:49]it's not curved then that means you will have a good career

[14:52]in your life but unfortunately they tell you if it's curved if

[14:57]it's crooked if it's broken if it's not very clear then unfortunately

[15:01]from now start looking for opportunities and I don't know trash collection

[15:11]or something like that here unfortunately I'm not that lucky because mine

[15:16]seems to be a little crooked so anyway this you find is

[15:19]a type of fortune telling that some people believe actually tells you

[15:25]about the future but most individuals they don't really believe in this

[15:29]this is Superstition there's nothing scientific about it and there's nothing in

[15:35]the Quran or from the traditions of about it so is there

[15:37]any truth to this there's absolutely no way to verify this it's

[15:39]all Superstition another example of a superstitious type of fortune telling is

[15:48]what they call torra have you heard of torra now torra is

[15:54]just a more sophisticated term for coffee reading very popular in the

[16:01]Arabic culture they tell you next time you buy a cup of

[16:09]coffee from my Cafe next time you buy a cup of coffee

[16:12]and you finish it don't throw the cup away because there is

[16:16]in that cup of coffee are you serious every coffee not our

[16:22]coffee I'm not saying coffee we sell here any cup of coffee

[16:25]you make in your house there could be inside that coffee cup

[16:32]how they tell you usually you'll find some coffee ground right the

[16:37]residue of the coffee wasn't that fine you'll find it is left

[16:41]at the end of your cup they tell you that we can

[16:50]predict your future your fortune based on the shape of the coffee

[16:54]ground so it's not just meaningless coffee just go wash it away

[16:57]or throw it away for example they tell you if you see

[17:03]a shape similar to a snake what does that mean that means

[17:11]someone will deceive you in your life someone will deceive you so

[17:15]be careful snake deception if you see a round figure like like

[17:22]a ring or a circle that means you will find the love

[17:29]of your your life very close in your life now if you

[17:37]see a bird what does that mean if you see a bird

[17:41]that means you've been looking first of all you've been looking too

[17:44]too long I don't know how you could see a bird but

[17:47]if you did see a bird it means that you will receive

[17:49]good news if you see an elephant what does that mean fortunately

[17:55]you're going to get fat I just made that up by the

[18:01]way anyway so they tell you depending on the shape this tells

[18:03]you what's going to happen in the future but is there any

[18:06]science behind this absolutely not is there any religious basis behind this

[18:11]this is all nonsense superstitious and usually you find weird people that

[18:16]believe in this so these types of fortune telling usually are not

[18:24]taken seriously but then again brothers and sisters there are certain examples

[18:32]of Psychics individuals who claim to be psychics or a more sophisticated

[18:39]term for psychics Clairvoyant Clairvoyant psychic same thing who claim to have

[18:43]knowledge of the knowledge of the future and they tell you that

[18:50]we can accurately predict the future and unfortunately there is a large

[18:55]segment of the people that believe these individuals have some special powers

[18:59]either that they have developed or that comes from Allah subhah wa

[19:03]ta'ala and thus they can predict the future for example in history

[19:07]the most famous psychic that most people might have heard of is

[19:14]whom no ramus heard of Nostradamus he was a French astrologist in

[19:21]the 16th century who used to make predictions and prophecies and he

[19:26]used to write those predictions and prophecies in a book that book

[19:33]is available today many people just Google it you will find they

[19:38]believe that no stradamus 500 years ago was accurately able to prophesize

[19:45]and predict certain events that happened in the 20 and 21st century

[19:49]like what for example they claim that he predicted the rise of

[19:55]Hitler he predicted World War II he predicted 911 he predicted covid-19

[20:06]so all these predictions that you find some of the individuals that

[20:10]believe in Nostradamus predictions he made 500 years ago but they were

[20:22]actually proved to be true over five 400 years after this is

[20:25]one example of an individual that many people take seriously this individual

[20:30]had certain powers or knowledge that an average human being did not

[20:34]today you find there are certain shows I've seen on TV on

[20:40]on YouTube and this is most common in the Arab world some

[20:44]person has a show and they're talking to the camera and what

[20:49]do they do they just make predictions and prophecies about the New

[20:53]Year usually it's an old weird lady and she will tell you

[21:01]this year 2025 some great man will be killed this year there

[21:05]will be a disaster this year a government will fall this year

[21:11]war will happen this year this will happen and that will happen

[21:15]and like I said in the Arab world this is very common

[21:19]and there are people that actually sometimes come to me and they

[21:22]ask me say did you see what this psychic said she said

[21:27]that this year someone great is going to die Subhan Allah how

[21:29]did she know that the say is going to die where did

[21:33]she get that Knowledge from she said that this year there was

[21:35]going to be for example a natural disaster how did she know

[21:40]about this earthquake how did she know about for example the government

[21:44]of Bashar Al Assad falling down when she said or he said

[21:48]that a government will topple this year so like I said there

[21:54]are some individuals who actually believe that these individuals have certain Powers

[22:01]beyond the normal they have of the future now the question is

[22:08]what is Islam say about this do these individuals actually have psychic

[22:12]powers can from an Islamic perspective someone have such that they are

[22:20]able to predict the future or all these individuals liars and con

[22:24]Artists number one brothers and sisters most of these individuals who claim

[22:29]to be psychics who claim to be able to predict the future

[22:36]fortune teller whatever they claim to be most of them they use

[22:42]a very shrewd tactic to fool you into thinking they have knowledge

[22:48]of the future how when you look at their predictions many of

[22:53]their predictions are vague many of their predictions are generic they're General

[23:00]they can apply to anything or anyone they tell you someone great

[23:04]is going to die this year is there any year that someone

[23:09]great didn't die so you start to interpret it in the way

[23:13]you like they tell you this year there will be a war

[23:16]between two Nations is there any year that there isn't a war

[23:21]between two Nations they tell you this year a leader a powerful

[23:24]leader he will be toppled down almost every year if you look

[23:30]back there's either a leader that resigns or that he is toppled

[23:34]he's overthrown or he dies or something like that so they give

[23:37]you all these vague statements and then they allow you to interpret

[23:46]the statement based on your own bias there's even a term in

[23:50]Psychology for this they call this the Barnum effect it's a kind

[23:52]of confirmation bias for example you go to the psychic and he

[23:59]tells you this year you will struggle you will struggle but you

[24:03]will be able to overcome your struggle okay is there anybody that

[24:07]doesn't struggle in his life what happens next week you're at a

[24:14]meeting after the month of Ramadan not Ramadan and all of a

[24:16]sudden you're trying to pick up your coffee cup and it spills

[24:17]over your over your shirt what do you tell yourself oh my

[24:22]God how did that psychic no I will face struggles this year

[24:25]and then what do you do you go to the bathroom you

[24:29]change your shirt and you're like Subhan Allah I overcame the struggle

[24:33]how did this psychic know come on this is ridiculous but many

[24:40]people because they have this confirmation bias because they want to believe

[24:44]that this person has powers that are beyond the ordinary they will

[24:49]interpret it in any way so this is a method that they

[24:55]use it's a very shrewd method make the prediction make the pro

[24:59]y as vague as possible so it can apply to anything go

[25:02]to that psychic and tell him no give me details tell me

[25:06]the date tell me the hour tell me exactly what here but

[25:10]they will tell you I don't have knowledge of the Unseen I

[25:13]don't have knowledge of course that's when you know that these individuals

[25:17]are not serious and you know what's a red flag brothers and

[25:20]sisters of anyone who claims to have these Powers this should definitely

[25:25]be a red flag for you if they charge you money if

[25:29]they charge you money for predicting the future or telling you certain

[25:37]unseen things unseen details in your life there are some enemies you

[25:40]have and they're doing this there is black magic and all this

[25:43]nonsense if they charge you brothers and sisters this is where you

[25:49]have to be very very cautious with these people because all they

[25:53]care about is what is picking your pocket is taking your money

[25:57]and they will tell you what you want to hear so this

[26:01]is point number one many of these predictions are vague so there

[26:08]is no number two even if for the sake of argument someone

[26:10]was accurately able to pred predict the future meaning they had knowledge

[26:15]of this unseen somehow Allah subhah wa ta'ala gave them that knowledge

[26:20]even then we have to be careful brothers and sisters not everything

[26:24]that they will predict May necessarily come true why because we believe

[26:29]in a notion called Al what is Al Al is outlined in

[26:36]a verse in the Holy Quran where Allah subhanahu waala says when

[26:45]Allah writes something when he ordains something Allah can change it last

[26:52]minute so even if someone claims that I have knowledge of the

[26:57]Unseen somehow Allah has giving me that knowledge that doesn't necessarily mean

[27:00]what that person will tell you will happen because Allah may change

[27:06]my faith and that's why we believe in Dua imagine if Allah

[27:12]writes something and it's unchangeable then why do Dua tomorrow night 21st

[27:16]23rd ask Allah subhana wa tala to change your fate to change

[27:20]your future to give you everything that is best but if Allah

[27:25]already wrote everything and we can't change it why should I do

[27:30]Dua Kal no do Dua pray because Allah can change your future

[27:33]even if it is written Allah says I can erase what I

[27:38]wrote for you and I will give you something better so this

[27:41]is point number two and point number three brothers and sisters this

[27:48]is the aspect regarding fortune telling our Scholars unanimously State this that

[27:52]fortune telling is Haram predicting the future is Haram yes speculation saying

[28:03]this might happen you're forecasting something as a possibility that's fine but

[28:09]if I start predicting the future as if I have knowledge of

[28:14]the this becomes a sin and not only is it a sin

[28:20]for me the person who is predicting going to someone who claims

[28:26]that they have that they are able to predict the future if

[28:30]you go to them and you believe them this is also Haram

[28:35]you pay them that money is Haram it's Haram money there's AI

[28:40]from many scholars consider this Hadith it's a collection of called the

[28:48]prohibitions of where he said what's Haram in one part of the

[28:58]Hadith IM Ali narrates saying about Fortune telling he prohibited going to

[29:10]the what is the if you see it in the dictionary is

[29:15]individuals who claim to have knowledge of the future soothsayers right psychics

[29:24]fortune tellers the prophet said that it is Haram it is prohibited

[29:28]to go to those individuals if you believe in them and then

[29:31]the prophet says whoever goes to these fortune tellers these individuals that

[29:37]claim they can predict the future and you believe in them it's

[29:42]not for entertainment sometimes you go let me just see what this

[29:46]guy's going to say if you go and you actually believe that

[29:48]these people can predict the future the prophet in this Hadith says

[29:56]you have disbelieved in the religion of the religion of is a

[30:03]religion that teaches as we said only Allah has knowledge of the

[30:14]no one else so this soothsayer this fortune teller is claiming to

[30:21]possess knowledge that only belongs to Allah knowledge that Allah only shares

[30:26]with his Messengers with his Imam so you ask this fortune tell

[30:30]you are are you a messenger this that you have where did

[30:33]you get it from if he tells you I discovered it I

[30:39]found it this is where the Quran clearly negates no one has

[30:44]except Allah tell him did you get it from Allah how are

[30:49]you a messenger are you an IM obviously not so the only

[30:51]option is that what you're lying so going to these individuals is

[30:57]Haram if you end up believing now there are a few examples

[31:02]that the IMs of spoke about examples of future telling fortune telling

[31:09]that the imams spoke of and they do have somewhat of Truth

[31:15]in them I'll go over them there are a couple of examples

[31:18]number one we see the imams of ah bit speaking about astrology

[31:26]what is astrology astrology is when you believe that the positions of

[31:32]the stars and the planets and the phases of the moon can

[31:39]predict the future astrologers look at the planets the order the sequence

[31:43]of the planets the Stars the phases of the moon and they

[31:46]will they claim that they can predict certain things that will happen

[31:50]in the future just based on looking at the sky this is

[31:57]different than astronomy astronomy is just what astronomy is predicting sunrise sunset

[32:03]the new moon the moonet this is okay there's this is actually

[32:07]scientific astrology is no when you say that these certain shapes and

[32:12]forms in the sky they're trying to predict things that will happen

[32:17]on Earth people will die disasters will happen good luck bad luck

[32:21]this in the Arabic language is called you will find many Traditions

[32:26]from speaking about and surprisingly many traditions of the imams tell us

[32:36]that the essence of astrology is true the essence of astrology is

[32:46]true it was initially taught by Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to his

[32:51]Messengers and there is even a Hadith in which the IM one

[32:55]of the IM says that had knowledge of he had knowledge of

[33:02]astrology so there is a correlation between the skies and what happens

[33:06]in the future as a sign meaning that when I see the

[33:11]phases of the moon in this particular way or something happens during

[33:15]this phase this means that a certain event will unfold in the

[33:20]future so the essence of astrology is true and that's why we

[33:29]have hadiths from the of that tell us it is this is

[33:33]AI from IM he says listen carefully this is not Superstition IM

[33:49]is narrated saying whoever gets married or travels meaning starts his travel

[33:55]while the Moon is in the then that trip and that marriage

[34:00]will not be blessed what is is referring to one of the

[34:11]zodiac signs one of the phases of the Moon the Moon goes

[34:14]through 12 phases every single month this is Astron this is astronomy

[34:19]but do these phases do they mean anything are they trying to

[34:25]predict something if I do something in these phases says yes if

[34:31]you get married while the Moon is in the the in English

[34:39]is called what Scorpio right so it's the eighth phase of the

[34:44]cycles of the Moon the phases of the moon if you and

[34:48]it takes about two to three days on average every month if

[34:50]you get married meaning if you do your your kab during these

[34:56]two three days the IM said that your marriage will not be

[35:00]blessed now what does this mean that means there is a correlation

[35:07]between the phases of the Moon the Moon can serve as a

[35:09]sign it's not the moon itself that's making this the moon itself

[35:15]that's affecting your future it's just a sign it can tell you

[35:18]about the future it can tell you that your marriage your kab

[35:24]may not be successful your trip may not be successful and that's

[35:28]why there are many that say it is Mak unrecombined so we

[35:59]know that there is some type of correlation between the skies between

[36:02]the faces of the Moon and certain future events but however despite

[36:09]that fact the imams of B were very cautious when it came

[36:14]to and they always told their companions to be careful not to

[36:20]believe people when they claim that they have knowledge of astrology why

[36:24]because even though this knowledge may be true but this is not

[36:30]knowledge that a normal human being can receive this is not something

[36:33]that you can learn by yourself this is not something that you

[36:39]can discover independently it is knowledge that is reserved to Allah and

[36:44]he can share this with whoever he wants and that's why there's

[36:50]a famous story I'm sure you've heard of it before Imam Ali

[36:53]went to the Battle of Nan he met an astrologist the astrologist

[37:01]told him do not go now don't start your trip now cuz

[37:03]the IM was going to Nan outside of bdad he told them

[37:07]don't go now leave L make calculations and based I'm telling you

[37:17]that the result will not be good you may lose and the

[37:20]Imam said because you told me not to go I will deliberately

[37:29]sense the IM defied him he went to raahan and the IM

[37:35]defeated is true why was IM aliam harsh with this man with

[37:38]this astrologist why did he defy him because the IM was telling

[38:33]be certain soothsayers they used to predict the future and sometimes they

[38:37]would predict the future accurately for example we have in the story

[38:44]of nam nam who was the dictator during the time of ibraim

[38:48]we have Traditions from the imams that tell us he had a

[38:50]soothsayer who was able to predict that ibraim will come and ibraim

[38:57]will challenge Nam we have Traditions about Prophet M that some of

[39:04]its soothsayers told him that M will end your kingdom how did

[39:08]they know that some had informed those soothsayers and that's why he

[39:14]tried to kill all the boys the Quran tells us in the

[39:16]Holy Quran how did he know that m is going to come

[39:20]and end his kingdom because those soothsayers had told him the Traditions

[39:25]tell us those susers they were connected to the and the Devils

[39:32]the had access to some how mentions this and it's mentioned in

[39:38]the Holy Quran that before Islam the they would go to the

[39:45]heavens we have the seven Heavens they would go to the heavens

[39:47]where the angels are and they would EAS drop on the Angels

[39:53]they would listen to Angels speaking Angels would sometimes speak of the

[39:58]future because Allah gives them that knowledge so they would pick up

[40:01]these lines that this is going to happen this person is going

[40:05]to die this disease is going to happen this war whatever they

[40:08]would pick up certain information through EAS dropping on the angels and

[40:13]then they would come to certain soothsayers and they would tell them

[40:17]I have knowledge of the but what would they do they would

[40:21]mix the truth that they heard with some falsehood so they create

[40:26]fitna for example they heard the Angels say that this man Muhammad

[40:29]is going to die in 5 years this is true but they

[40:34]would add some spices to it so they create fitna they would

[40:38]tell the soothsayer that mammad is going to die in 5 years

[40:41]and his cousin is going to kill him his cousin is going

[40:44]to kill him it's from the Shan it's not from the Angels

[40:46]so it creates fitna right now between this man and his cousin

[40:52]so Imad says that this was possible before Islam but when rasool

[40:56]was born when rasool Allah was sent our messenger Allah subhanahu wa

[41:01]ta'ala prevented the Devils from that knowledge and this is mentioned in

[41:06]Jin the Jin they say that we were accustomed to go and

[41:12]listen e drop Allah subhah wa taala even quotes them in the

[41:16]Holy Quran where Allah subhana wa tala says the Jin used to

[41:20]say the Jin say or Jin that we were able to go

[41:33]and listen ease drop on the Angels but now when we go

[41:39]the Angels throw comets the Angels throw meteors at us throw fire

[41:44]at us so we're no longer able to EAS drop on them

[41:52]so IM says before Islam yes some soothsayers could accurately predict the

[41:57]future but now that the have been prevented is it possible no

[42:01]so if a soothsayer a fortune teller tells you the there is

[42:06]a devil that is bringing me this news you tell this individual

[42:12]this is a lie because the do not have knowledge of the

[42:16]future anymore this ended when Allah was born this was a second

[42:24]third example of future telling is dreams can our dreams predict the

[42:32]future now when we read the Quran the Quran is clear that

[42:35]the dreams of prophets are prophecies Revelation and Allah gives us example

[42:41]Prophet YF he says I saw the 11 planets the Sun and

[42:50]the Moon I saw them do to me when he was young

[42:54]many years 40 years later that dream actually came true when he

[42:59]saw his brothers and his father doing suud to them so YF

[43:04]yes his dream was true he saw dreams that were true for

[43:09]example saw in his dream that they will be able to perform

[43:25]verse Allah says that the dream that saw was a true dream

[43:48]dream this is actually a prophecy that will happen but what about

[43:55]you and I do our dreams predict the future and thus when

[43:58]I see something in my dream I should try to interpret it

[44:11]in this Hadith there's three types of dreams that we see number

[44:14]one the IM calls it it is a glad Tiding from Allah

[44:25]number two it is Shan's warning and these are the nightmares that

[44:28]we see and number three the dreams that have no meaning so

[44:32]there are certain dreams IM where the IM says they do have

[44:40]a meaning they may predict the future and the imams call them

[44:43]in other Hadith and they tell us that this is a way

[44:50]in which our NS our R it divinely communicates with Allah subhanahu

[44:57]wa taala because because it ascends to the world of Mal and

[45:01]it will be able to see the Unseen and that's why has

[45:06]narrated saying after I die there will no longer be prophecies except

[46:10]the one that doesn't die Allah also takes his soul when we

[46:18]sleep the one that Allah has written death for Allah takes their

[46:24]soul and he keeps about it's not going back but for the

[46:28]one that's asleep Allah takes their soul and then brings it back

[46:32]so when we sleep our soul departs the body Al IM says

[46:37]the soul departs the body and it goes towards the heavens any

[46:40]dream that you see while you still are on earth then this

[46:47]is not a true dream but if you ascend into the S

[46:53]and you see a dream there your dream will be a true

[46:57]dream dream now how can we see a true dream there is

[47:02]a Hadith from IM in which the IM explained he said true

[47:07]dreams usually happen during the time of sah which is the third

[47:11]portion of the night the last third portion so the last couple

[47:17]of hours before F number two the Imam said you you cannot

[47:20]be in the state of janab you have to be pure number

[47:25]three the IM said you have to do wo before you sleep

[47:27]number three IM said that remember Allah subhah wa tala before you

[47:33]sleep and our Scholars state that the most effective remembrance is if

[47:38]you do if you do these four things says that it is

[47:44]possible for a normal average believer to see the that Divine dream

[47:50]it is possible but however brothers and sisters the problem with dreams

[47:56]is it is difficult for us to differentiate between a true dream

[48:04]and the meaningless dreams how do I know that this dream is

[48:07]a true dream there's no way to corroborate it the only way

[48:11]is if what you saw actually happened for example you see in

[48:15]your dream someone telling you there's treasure under your kitchen cabinets you

[48:19]go you dick you find treasure there that means your dream was

[48:23]true you see a saint telling you your sickness you're going to

[48:27]be cured the only time you're going to know it's true is

[48:29]when it happens but before it happens there is no way for

[48:34]me to tell that the dream is true and the majority of

[48:37]our dreams brothers and sisters I would say 99% of our dreams

[48:40]are meaningless so unfortunately this is not a practical method for us

[48:49]to predict the future and then after that I'm almost done inshallah

[48:53]after that we have what about isn't future telling there are some

[48:59]people that they don't know is this marriage going to work or

[49:04]not right someone is proposing to them what do they do they

[49:11]will this marriage be successful or not is future telling absolutely not

[49:16]brothers and sisters has nothing to do with the future if you

[49:20]are performing because you think that this is a way to predict

[49:30]us and Scholars tell us is one thing you are Consulting Allah

[49:34]should I do this should I not do this should I travel

[49:39]should I not travel should I marry should I not marry should

[49:41]I buy this house should I not when you are confused and

[49:45]undecided you do an if it's good Allah says do it inshallah

[49:48]there's good in it but Allah subhah wa tala's standard of good

[49:55]is different than your standard maybe you do an to buy something

[49:59]and then it turns out good but you lose does that mean

[50:04]that was wrong no because Allah subhana T maybe he wants you

[50:07]to lose money maybe Allah wants to test you by taking away

[50:11]some of your money and he wants to see if you have

[50:13]patience and faith or not so this has nothing to do with

[50:18]telling the future it is just a way of Consulting Allah yes

[50:21]there is a notion called and this can be found in Hadith

[50:28]there's a Hadith that is attributed to Al IM I believe Al

[50:36]IM or actually it's not even attributed to an IM but it's

[50:42]one of our earlier Scholars by the name of he mentions a

[50:47]Hadith that if you want to use the Quran to predict the

[50:51]future there is a way it's called I'll be done after this

[50:55]what do you do you open the Quran let's say you don't

[50:57]know will this trip be successful or not will this marriage be

[51:01]good or not will I pass the test or not so the

[51:03]Hadith says read three times and then doat three times and then

[51:11]read a Dua that's a special Dua Ya Allah I am looking

[51:20]into your Quran to predict the future the Hadith says that after

[51:24]you do that open the Quran so there the first line whatever

[51:34]you see this will give you insight into the future so this

[51:37]notion does exist but there's two problems with this Hadith number one

[51:42]this Hadith is unreliable number two there is an opposing conflicting Hadith

[51:48]from IM where the IM bannned is naring do not use the

[51:57]Quran to predict the future and that's why many had given a

[52:00]fatwa earlier that it is Haram for you to try to predict

[52:06]the future through the Quran yes you're undecided consult Allah but to

[52:09]try to predict the future this is Haram but most today will

[52:13]tell you it is Mak to perform qur and finally brothers and
