[0:00]- shaytan ar-rajim bismillah ar-rahman ar-rahim I begin in the name of
[0:06]the Almighty God the compassionate the merciful the one who has created
[0:09]everything an utmost perfection and may the peace and blessings of the
[0:17]Almighty God be upon his pure and beloved messenger the peak of
[0:22]his creation the symbol of humanity the holy prophet muhammad sallallahu alayhi
[0:30]wa ali and his immaculate progeny of the al-bait peace be upon
[0:38]them respected brothers and sisters assalamu alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh last night we
[0:46]examined rational proof and evidence for the existence of allah subhanahu wata'ala
[0:55]one question that many people ask about and oftentimes we do wonder
[1:04]about this as we are trying to figure out our relationship with
[1:07]allah subhanahu wata'ala as the following question does God have a personality
[1:14]and if he does what kind of personality does God have oftentimes
[1:20]we have our own imagination and conceptions of God and we wonder
[1:27]whether God has a personality when you are interested to know someone
[1:31]when you fall in love with someone the first thing that you
[1:34]want to do is to get to know their personality right explore
[1:40]what kind of traits they have what kind of personality they have
[1:42]many of us want to build a relationship with allah subhana wa
[1:46]ta'ala and too often we wonder does he really have a personality
[1:53]or no some people have a conception of god as being this
[1:56]powerful being who's always angry and he wants to seek vengeance some
[2:02]people historically have had the imagination of god being vengeful and being
[2:09]very jealous in fact you know the romans at the time of
[2:16]Prophet ISA Islam and even before that one reason why they hated
[2:20]the children of Israel the Jewish nation is because they accused their
[2:29]God of being jealous because the Romans said we have our own
[2:32]idols and we worship our idols but these Jews they say there's
[2:35]only one God and that God does not allow you to worship
[2:41]any other idol so that God must be a very jealous God
[2:45]and you see that this is their understanding of God they have
[2:49]this image of him having a jealous personality so does God have
[2:56]a personality or no before we examine this my dear brothers and
[3:00]sisters in our introductory point I would like to share with you
[3:04]something significant about allah subhanaw taala that has been mentioned in our
[3:10]narrations the religion of islam invites us to contemplate and think about
[3:15]everything look at the holy quran and invites human beings to contemplate
[3:20]to use the intellect that god has given them to think about
[3:24]everything in existence there is nothing that islam tells you you can't
[3:30]think about this this is a question you cannot ask no this
[3:33]does not exist exist in our faith and in our school of
[3:37]thought we are allowed to think about everything and also to ask
[3:42]about everything there's one exception now I need from the holy prophet
[3:45]sallallahu alayhi wa honor he states contemplate and think about everything except
[3:51]the essence of God the actual essence of God is something beyond
[3:58]your comprehension and this is only logical because Allah is unlimited we
[4:04]are limited the limited can never encompass the unlimited that's a logical
[4:08]impossibility so don't think about the essence of God yes think about
[4:16]the actions of God the creation of Allah spano to allah the
[4:19]attributes of god which point you to his greatness but about the
[4:23]essence of god some people think what is god composed of that's
[4:28]beyond your and alas not physical for him to be composed of
[4:32]anything but how does his knowledge work how does he know things
[4:35]how does he process information and data that's beyond our comprehension we
[4:40]know God knows how does he know that's beyond our comprehension because
[4:44]there in the knowledge of allah subhanaw taala is his essence the
[4:51]beauty of believing in the one god is that allah subhana wa
[4:54]ta'ala is not divisible we don't believe that God is an essence
[5:00]and a part of it is knowledge a part of it is
[5:06]power a part of it is wisdom no us human beings yes
[5:07]that's how we operate I as a human being knowledge is supplemental
[5:14]it's added to me I don't have knowledge than I acquire knowledge
[5:16]but that's not how it works with Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala Allah
[5:19]Himself is knowledge himself is power that's the meaning of his essence
[5:24]but this is difficult for us to grasp because we're limited beings
[5:29]you know oftentimes when we're arrogant and we think we know everything
[5:34]just look at your senses my dear brothers and sisters can you
[5:37]explain your senses to someone who doesn't have them if someone is
[5:44]born blind they don't know what colors are they don't know what
[5:47]light is can you explain to them what vision means what it
[5:50]means to see you try can you what words can you use
[5:57]so that person understands what seeing is that's how weak we human
[6:01]beings are we can't even grasp our senses yes we can experience
[6:05]them because we see we hear but if someone's born deaf and
[6:10]they don't know what sound is and they've never heard in their
[6:14]lives can you explain to them what sound is what voice means
[6:17]can you what different Tunes and melodies mean no you can't what
[6:22]words can describe that that's how weak we are now you want
[6:27]to grasp the essence of allah subhanho wa taala so the hadith
[6:29]of a little bit peace be upon them are very clear that
[6:34]when it comes to the core essence of God that's not an
[6:36]area where you contemplate and think because you will get confused you
[6:40]might even deviate from the oneness of allah subhanahu wata'ala in fact
[6:46]that's one of the meanings of the name Allah have you ever
[6:50]wondered what Allah means in Arabic there are a number of definitions
[6:58]one is V God Vienna which is Allah the only God to
[7:02]be worshipped another meaning comes from the word Allah her Anna Hal
[7:09]Santa Ana refer to basically one meaning of Allah is that the
[7:14]more you think of the essence of God the more you realize
[7:20]how much you don't know and that it's impossible for you to
[7:23]grasp the essence of God and those who really know allah subhana
[7:29]wa ta'ala are those people who know very well that they can
[7:33]never reach the essence of God and they are in awe and
[7:38]in wonder of the essence of God that's one way of knowing
[7:41]allah subhana wa ta'ala is to know that you can never grasp
[7:45]him you cannot imagine in him you cannot imagine him don't subject
[7:48]him to the limits of your imagination oftentimes we do imagine God
[7:52]and we limit him in our imagination having said that let's address
[8:01]the point of our discussion this evening do we have a personal
[8:05]God or known historically religions have debated this point and we find
[8:11]that you have two groups amongst world religions the first group they
[8:17]say that God is completely impersonal you will find many Hindus believing
[8:24]in this many branches of Hinduism believe that God is impersonal now
[8:30]what do they mean by impersonal they also have a number of
[8:36]definitions one definition is that God is this power in the universe
[8:39]which is the source of life the source of existence however God
[8:44]isn't a being that makes decisions has an intention answers your prayer
[8:53]hears you know God is this power it's impersonal power to give
[8:58]you just a quick example think of gravity or fire gravity is
[9:03]this power right the power of gravity it has the power of
[9:10]pulling objects now this is an impersonal cause it's an impersonal power
[9:14]it just takes its course gravity is not something that's conscious and
[9:21]knows what it's doing and makes decisions right same with fire for
[9:27]instance there are some philosophers who say God when he creates he
[9:32]is like fire fire has the capacity to burn does fire choose
[9:38]to burn or it naturally burns it naturally burns I don't think
[9:40]you have a fire that says ok you know I'm gonna burn
[9:45]today today I'm not gonna burn I'm going to make that choice
[9:47]that's not how it works some philosophers unfortunately they ascribe this idea
[9:53]to God they says God he naturally creates he naturally gives existence
[9:58]to other beings it's not that he makes an active willful decision
[10:06]to create this is an impersonal God so he doesn't hear you
[10:09]the way we understand it he doesn't do miracles he doesn't intervene
[10:13]no the world just running its course now one reason why these
[10:18]people came up with this idea of an impersonal God is because
[10:22]they struggled with the idea of evil there's evil bad things happen
[10:27]in this world if God really has awareness and he sees what's
[10:32]happening and he knows what's happening why does he allow for evil
[10:36]to exist one reason that caused them to believe in an impersonal
[10:39]God is because they had trouble explaining evil so that's one view
[10:46]historically the other view is the view of the Abrahamic faiths that
[10:53]God is a personal God but let's define this word what does
[10:56]it mean that God is a personal God if you look at
[11:00]the Holy Scriptures the Bible the Old Testament the New Testament the
[11:04]Holy Quran it's very clear that God speaks in the first person
[11:06]wanna taro to confess lamahieu ha Allah Spano - auditors Musa al-salaam
[11:14]and I chose you so listen to what I have to reveal
[11:19]to you see it's a personal God in that sense that allah
[11:22]spirit allah is referring to himself as someone who's aware who's talking
[11:28]who can see and these scriptures are also very clear that a
[11:31]lot can hear us allah subhanaw taala can see our actions he
[11:34]has knowledge of us Allah can intervene you at you you ask
[11:40]Allah subhana WA Ta'ala you make a prayer Allah Subhan Allah Allah
[11:44]responds that's what it means when we say a personal God now
[11:49]let's see where Islam fits in over here when you talk about
[11:55]this personal God though sometimes you find these other religions including many
[12:02]Christians they make God too personal and they ascribe human qualities literally
[12:09]to God see the Bible the Holy Scriptures even the Quran but
[12:14]we'll talk about that states that God expresses emotions God gets angry
[12:20]the God of the Bible states that he gets angry he seeks
[12:26]vengeance he becomes happy he becomes satisfied and many Christians do actually
[12:32]believe God has these feelings and emotions not all of them but
[12:36]a lot of them do Thomas Aquinas yes the Christian figure he
[12:43]said that God is not a body he's not corporal he doesn't
[12:45]have emotions but many Christians today believe God does have emotions because
[12:49]he says so yes he doesn't necessarily have to have a body
[12:52]but he does have emotions God really feels offended when you sin
[12:59]God's can affect God gets offended he feels this indignation he gets
[13:04]angry he feels violated and they believe that God has emotions what
[13:08]is the perspective of the religion of Islam because someone could come
[13:13]and tell you the Quran says the same thing doesn't all the
[13:17]Quran in a number of verses state that God gets angry right
[13:21]allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala seeks vengeance aliment up damian tap him this is
[13:28]mentioned in the holy quran god becomes happy he becomes satisfied God
[13:33]loves and Allahabad muta peen in the lie Abu Taha beam and
[13:39]the lie on Matata hélène so many verses in the holy quran
[13:42]clearly states that a last panel - Allah loves people with certain
[13:48]qualities so then does God have emotions or no in the school
[13:51]of Anna Bates my dear brothers and sisters and that's the beauty
[13:56]of following the a debate they give you the pure source of
[13:59]knowledge and the school of Allen bait allah subhanaw taala doesn't experience
[14:05]feelings or emotions all of these references in the holy quran are
[14:10]not to be taken literally these are symbolic metaphorical references because if
[14:17]you say God experiences emotions and feelings than you limit him then
[14:23]that means allah subhana wa ta'ala is subject to changes in his
[14:27]own essence and that God experiences reactions look at the human being
[14:33]what does emotions mean when you feel angry what's happening reactions certain
[14:40]chemical reactions occur in your brain and you experience that anger your
[14:44]brain communicates that to the soul you feel it it's a reaction
[14:50]love is a reaction fear is a reaction hate is a reaction
[14:54]all these are reactions and they indicate that you have a physical
[14:58]presence a physical body in which these reactions happen but allah subhanaw
[15:04]taala is not a physical entity allah subhana wa ta'ala does not
[15:11]experience these emotions through feelings because that means there are changes in
[15:16]the essence of God one second allows angry one second he's not
[15:19]you have a change now in his essence and this makes him
[15:21]limited this puts limitations on God and that means Allah Spano Tata
[15:27]has parts and the annual debates made it very clear who Allahu
[15:31]Ahad not only is Allah won but he has no parts as
[15:35]well even these types of parts a la Spano Terada is above
[15:38]them and by the way one interesting thing about those people who
[15:42]think God has emotions if God really had emotions and feelings and
[15:49]he would feel anger feel love feel hate feel offense that would
[15:53]be a really miserable God to be honest with you because every
[15:59]little second somebody is offending God somebody is making God angry you
[16:03]know what kind of existence does God have where every little second
[16:07]people are making him miserable through these emotions and feelings and snap
[16:12]says no this isn't an inappropriate don't think that allah subhanho Tata
[16:16]has these emotions and feelings who are we to offend the Almighty
[16:23]God and make him feel offended who are mine Who am I
[16:26]I as the small little speck in a speck in this universe
[16:32]have you seen the planet Earth from space sometimes you've seen those
[16:36]videos it starts zooming out you can't see earth anymore you can't
[16:41]see the galaxy anymore you can't even see our Sun were this
[16:47]small I can actually make God angry I can actually upset God
[16:50]and have him go through these feelings this is preposterous this is
[16:55]impossible so we believe that allah subhanaw taala does not have emotions
[16:59]okay so how do we explain these verses in the quran then
[17:01]when allah speaks of anger or satisfaction in the holy quran or
[17:10]any other emotion in reality allah subhanaw taala is talking about the
[17:16]consequence of that emotion when you become angry what do you do
[17:21]if you're violated if you're the lawmaker and you make the police
[17:25]angry right by speeding what happens what's the consequence you get a
[17:30]ticket you get fined the anger of allah subhanaw taala means loss
[17:37]you lose blessings or you might get punished that's the meaning of
[17:42]God's anger otherwise Allah doesn't have emotions when we say Allah loves
[17:46]you it doesn't mean Ally experiences the feeling of love it means
[17:49]allah subhanahu wata'ala will bless you because when you love someone you
[17:55]give them your generous with them you give them a special status
[17:58]you help them you serve them allah subhanho to allah when he
[18:01]loves someone allah blesses them he gives them a reward he gives
[18:06]them blessings in their lives allah protects that person gives them a
[18:09]high status on the day of judgment that's the meaning of a
[18:12]less planet Allah loving you all these emotions in the Holy Quran
[18:16]some people picture God as this angry being always wanting to take
[18:24]vengeance absolutely not Allah does not experience any of this but Allah
[18:29]uses language my dear brothers and sisters that we can understand we
[18:32]human beings connect with emotions when you say God will be angry
[18:36]at you then that motivates you to stay away from those sins
[18:44]from those crimes from those evil acts unless basically just borrowing our
[18:49]own language because he's speaking in our mentality otherwise he doesn't have
[18:54]emotions by the way over here some people object that every page
[18:58]in the Holy Quran or two pages that you open God is
[19:03]threatening us signing us with punishment the day of judgment Hellfire why
[19:07]does God threaten us some people really think God is an angry
[19:14]god he's always training his people my dear brothers and sisters Allah
[19:18]created us and he knows as well we are the product and
[19:21]Allah Spano to Allah is the manufacturer Allah knows what works and
[19:25]what doesn't work we human beings at our core what motivates us
[19:32]what mean what keeps us in check as the reward is the
[19:35]system of rewards and punishments that's the reality most people even adults
[19:43]at their core they act childish if there is no fear of
[19:47]punishment or fines or repercussions and negative consequences we don't behave psychologists
[19:56]Kohlberg he talks about moral development it's very interesting he says why
[20:00]do people act the way they do and he divides the stages
[20:05]of moral development into three stages he says the first stage is
[20:11]the preconventional level basically a lot of people they do things either
[20:15]because they want to avoid a punishment a fine or they want
[20:20]to benefit a reward just like kids right if you want to
[20:23]get a child to do something how do you get them to
[20:27]do something reward them give them a reward that might encourage them
[20:30]if that doesn't work you threaten them I'll ground you I'll discipline
[20:34]you it works for most kids that works most people operate at
[20:38]that level and in fact even believers worship Allah Spanos Allah based
[20:44]on this principle that's why I might've never thought about it and
[20:47]I'm in that beautiful hadith he says o Allah I don't worship
[20:49]you because I'm scared of hell or I want to go to
[20:53]heaven no I find you higher than that that's the first stage
[20:55]of moral development the second stage of moral development is the conventional
[21:01]level where you do things not necessarily because of punishment or because
[21:07]of rewards but because you want to be seen as a good
[21:11]citizen I do this because I want to be a good boy
[21:15]a good girl a good citizen the third level which Kohlberg calls
[21:20]the post conventional level of moral development people do things now because
[21:26]they're scared of a punishment because they want a reward because they
[21:29]want others to say we're good citizens but because they do that
[21:32]which they believe is right they have moral principles I do this
[21:39]because it's justice and it's good to do it imam ali ali
[21:41]salam says the real believers worship god not because they're afraid of
[21:47]hell that's the worship of slaves not because of their desire for
[21:52]heaven it's okay but iman ideas above that that's the worship of
[21:56]merchants and businessmen he says i worship god because it's the right
[22:02]thing to do because he's worthy of being worshipped why shouldn't i
[22:06]worship him when he has created me he's blessed me and he's
[22:09]given me everything so if a lie uses this language in the
[22:14]holy quran because allah knows the danger that the human being can
[22:19]fall into if you see a child who's right by fire what
[22:22]do you do what do you do yes you try to convince
[22:27]the fire in the child not to go to the fire but
[22:31]if you see the child running towards the fire do you sit
[22:33]with the child and say hey baby let's talk some philosophy here
[22:36]let's talk about the elements on fire and does it work when
[22:40]you see the child running towards the fire most people are falling
[22:43]into the fire here in this world through their sins through their
[22:47]acts of destruction through their jealousy through their hatred through their violation
[22:52]of each other's rights the violation of God's laws in that case
[22:58]yes Allah threatens and all the Quran to keep us in check
[23:01]not because he's an angry Lord Allah doesn't have emotions so that's
[23:05]one perspective about the Holy Quran when it comes to emotions Allah
[23:10]isn't this being that has emotions all these verses in the Holy
[23:15]Quran are figurative the second point is a marvelous fascinating point which
[23:21]the a debates have explained one hadith States the emotions that we
[23:28]read in the Quran are in fact the emotions exhibited by the
[23:33]representatives of God when Allah says in the Holy Quran that Allah
[23:37]becomes angry Allah has no emotions it means his representatives become angry
[23:42]when people are violated when there's an act of injustice and they
[23:48]are the prophets and the Imams of a debate because they are
[23:52]the representatives of Allah on the earth on behalf of Allah subhana
[23:56]wa ta'ala they show those emotions when you do good Allah soon
[24:00]allah salla allahu allahu allah loves you and becomes happy and he
[24:06]represents allah subhana WA Ta'ala and so when Allah says I am
[24:09]happy it means the Prophet will experience that joy of you believing
[24:13]in the right path and being an upright human being and we
[24:19]do believe that human beings on earth my dear brothers and sisters
[24:23]we talked about evolution a couple of nights ago we're not some
[24:28]evolutionary accident we are the representatives of God on earth when Allah
[24:33]created Adam and his salaam he made it clear to the Angels
[24:37]in nija I don't feel Arabic and Eva what does Khalifa mean
[24:40]they act on my behalf think of this fundamental point on this
[24:45]earth my dear brothers and sisters when you act would you live
[24:51]when you make deals remember you're here acting on behalf of allah
[24:56]subhanaw taala he put you here we're not some accident over here
[25:00]yes we can accept evolution impacting our biology the bodies yes we
[25:07]talked about that in detail there's a lot of evidence that living
[25:12]organisms are impacted by their surroundings that's fine but Allah created the
[25:19]human being in full form to represent the Almighty God this is
[25:23]the in son Allah has given honor and dignity to the human
[25:25]being animals don't just come via human beings over night that doesn't
[25:29]happen Allah created the human being with that humanity this is a
[25:38]gift Allah has given us and therefore these emotions that the Holy
[25:44]Quran talks about are those which are exhibited by the representatives of
[25:49]God don't we read an hour to as my dear brothers and
[25:55]sisters about the Imam of our time who represents Allah on earth
[26:01]ie nieuwe jalaja leve la here - what John olia where is
[26:05]the face of God this is not literal its to be taken
[26:08]metaphorically the prophets the Imams the Annan bait they represent the Almighty
[26:15]Allah Subhanahu WA Ta'ala because they show us the path to the
[26:18]Almighty God so when we think my dear brothers and sisters of
[26:20]God God doesn't have a personality in the sense that he has
[26:26]emotions keep that in mind that's the first thing to know about
[26:28]Allah now to better understand allah subhanho to allah we examine his
[26:33]attributes allah has 99 names right we study these names because all
[26:41]these beautiful names they real one aspect of the attributes of Allah
[26:48]a last two main attributes are power and knowledge all these 99
[26:55]names really if you analyze them they go back to power and
[26:58]knowledge for instance we say Allah subhana WA Ta'ala is Semyon Basile
[27:03]Allah hears Allah sees what does that mean that means he knows
[27:10]ila moonbin much more art ala moana bill mob salat Allah knows
[27:13]what you speak he doesn't have an ear to hear it Allah
[27:17]Spano to Allah sees what you do he knows of it it
[27:21]doesn't mean he literally sees it it goes back to his knowledge
[27:23]and then when we talk about Allah being Raheem Rahman Oh oof
[27:30]Allah being compassionate Allah being merciful what does that mean that means
[27:35]Allah Spano to Allah uses his power to benefit you that's Rama
[27:42]analyze Rahman what does not mean when Allah uses his power to
[27:45]benefit you the human being so you can benefit from the power
[27:49]of God what does justice mean justice or hekima wisdom means God
[27:58]uses his power in the appropriate place he uses it appropriately that's
[28:03]the meaning of hickman so all these names of Allah spano to
[28:06]Allah when you study them you are in awe how many dimensions
[28:11]does the knowledge of Allah have how many dimensions does the power
[28:14]of a last panel two and a half when you say a
[28:18]last panel two eyes and one taught him he seeks revenge he's
[28:21]vengeful what does that mean that means he uses his power to
[28:26]stop the evil ones that's what it means it goes back to
[28:28]the power of allah subhanho wa taala this is how we can
[28:32]come to know the almighty god when we stand before allah we
[28:36]are connecting ourself ourselves to the source of all knowledge and all
[28:41]power and the universe see the beauty in that my dear brothers
[28:47]and sisters and finally I'll conclude with one point as we speak
[28:50]about knowing God and if we wonder in the in our discussion
[28:56]whether God has a personality how to eye come to know Allah
[28:59]subhana WA Ta'ala one hadith states if you want to know God
[29:03]start with yourself man our F&F sir fuc Adara Fariba when you
[29:13]know yourself and you come to know yourself then you can come
[29:17]to know the almighty God how do we understand this hadith two
[29:25]quick points number one as one hadith from prophet Dawood Ali said
[29:30]i'm sheds light when you study yourself you realize you are weak
[29:35]you are created you'd you were ignorant then you acquired knowledge you
[29:39]were weak then you gained strength you know allah subhana wa ta'ala
[29:47]is the exact opposite I'm in need he's not I am physical
[29:49]he's not I am ignorant in my essence I was born ignorant
[29:58]he's not I am weak at my core he's not that's one
[30:01]way to come to know Allah spano tada examine yourself when you
[30:07]see yourself limited you know you have a creator who's unlimited that's
[30:11]one way of coming to know allah subhana wa ta'ala a second
[30:14]way of knowing allah subhana wa ta'ala and this is really interesting
[30:20]and its philosophical examine yourselves my dear brothers and sisters when you
[30:26]examine yourself that soul in you that me and me maybe one
[30:28]night we can talk about the soul is there any evidence for
[30:33]the soul some atheists may deny that we have a soul when
[30:36]you examine yourself and your soul you notice something interesting your soul
[30:42]is connected to you it's a part of you but is it
[30:47]in your body physically and technically is your soul in your body
[30:51]you feel like something is in your body inside you know you
[30:57]feel connected your soul is here present but it's not like something
[31:00]that's in your body right but is it something that's separated from
[31:05]your body outside of your body no you manage yourself yourself that
[31:14]soul manages you it's not technically inside of you for it to
[31:17]be literally a part of you and it's not technically outside of
[31:20]you such that it's separated from you but it controls you subhanAllah
[31:26]think of Allah in this in these terms Allah who manages the
[31:31]universe sometimes you wonder is he here or he's not here is
[31:33]he physically and everything or he's away from everything Allah manages the
[31:38]universe but he's not technically inside the universe and he's not technically
[31:42]outside the universe look at yourself and you realize the greatness of
[31:47]allah subhanho wa taala that's one way of understanding the Almighty God
[31:51]and in this holy month my dear brothers and sisters the month
[31:57]of Ramadan is the month in which we come to discover the
[31:59]Almighty God the more you see the greatness of God the more
[32:05]you see the signs of God the more you see the attributes
[32:07]of the all-mighty God he's given us all these attributes my dear
[32:10]brothers and sisters but sometimes we don't see them out of arrogance
[32:16]and selfishness he's showed us all the signs I'll share with you
[32:20]and conclude with this short story an australian convert or revert his
[32:26]story is fascinating you could find it on youtube it's online he
[32:30]talks about his name is Ruben just go online on YouTube click
[32:37]Ruben the Australian Muslim and you'll see his story he says I
[32:41]struggled ours a Christian but there were many questions that I had
[32:44]no one could answer me no one could answer my questions I
[32:50]went to the church to the priest and then I gave up
[32:52]on religion until one day someone told me why don't you go
[32:56]and ask these Muslims maybe the Quran has answers to your questions
[32:59]maybe this religion can answer your questions he says initially I was
[33:06]reluctant these Muslims these Muslims having answers for me impossible my friend
[33:10]said just go what do you have to lose he says I
[33:14]went to a local mosque I started asking questions I found every
[33:18]answer that I had in the Holy Quran reader story it's very
[33:20]fascinating he says I became to struggle does God really exist does
[33:26]he not exist I want to sign he says one night I
[33:31]was alone in my room and I said God I'm this close
[33:33]to believing in you this close to believing in the Quran but
[33:38]I want a tangible sign show me a sign that I can
[33:40]feel it's like I expected something's gonna happen nothing happened I waited
[33:48]come on God this is your last chance prove yourself to me
[33:54]otherwise you're gonna lose me you know he says it in a
[33:55]funny way it's like I had this conversation with God show me
[34:00]your presence just anything maybe a lightning bolt something moving in my
[34:05]room just something it's like pitch silence nothing nothing happened it was
[34:10]like I kind of gave up I kind of lost hope that
[34:14]God exists I picked up the Quran I opened it I saw
[34:18]the verse in the Holy Quran in which God says do they
[34:20]not see the signs of Allah the Sun and the moon and
[34:24]the galaxies and the heavens and the earth and the winds that
[34:26]carry the rain and your creation and everything that's not enough for
[34:31]you the human being he's like when I saw that I said
[34:33]to myself Ruben you're so selfish God has given you millions of
[34:37]signs you want yet another one in your room look at everything
[34:40]around you the signs of Allah are evident don't be selfish when
[34:46]you ask for a personal sign you're being selfish oh god I
[34:49]want my own sign unless as you want more what more do
[34:54]you want I've given you millions of signs every cell in your
[34:56]body is a sign you want more than that there's seven trillion
[34:59]signs in your body you want more than that he says that
[35:03]led me to the belief in Allah Spano tiada and I embraced
[35:08]the religion of Islam sallou ala muhammadin wa ala muhammad we ask
[35:14]Allah subhana WA Ta'ala to bless us may Allah spano to Allah
[35:20]accept your mind my dear brothers and sisters
