[0:09]we are in the fourth session of debunking misconceptions on Shia Islam
[0:17]and we've been slowly building and building the foundations of shm and
[0:27]negating some of the misconceptions that people have so in the first
[0:33]session we talked about the origins of shm and this will especially
[0:38]for those people who come and say where did shm come from
[0:41]it's a sect and it's something they come and they try to
[0:46]make it look like it's something far and very different from Islam
[0:49]and the message of and we see that it is deeply rooted
[0:55]in the Quran and deeply rooted in the Sunnah of then we
[0:59]went on in the next session we talked about who the are
[1:04]and there's misconceptions regarding this today some people they come and they
[1:08]add the wives of the Prophet they add other people in the
[1:10]definition of b and who are and what is the the definition
[1:17]ofb when we say the the purified household of and we come
[1:23]to understand that this is talking about a specific group of people
[1:27]they are the the family of the prophet imin and the IMs
[1:36]of the this they fall under this category because of which we
[1:40]explained that they will continue until the day of judgment they don't
[1:44]separate from the Quran and then in the third session we talked
[1:47]about the misconception that sh are against the sahabah of the prophet
[1:53]and they have problems with the sahaba of the Prophet or they
[1:56]don't like the sahaba and this is wrong the sahaba they are
[1:59]good but there are some people that we have some uh basically
[2:06]you have to come and look at people's history and look at
[2:10]their past and we can't come and just give a blanket statement
[2:13]they're all good or they're all bad no there there were some
[2:16]who were and there were some who were as the Quran describes
[2:21]and I wanted to add on um add on to to that
[2:28]point of the sahaba and then we we will move on to
[2:33]to a different topic inshallah and that is that some people come
[2:36]and say what about the narrations for example the narration of Abu
[2:41]Bakr in the cave of with the prophet or Allah praising or
[2:49]specific narrations regarding some of the of In Praise of them because
[2:59]today when a Sunni person Sunni person that has not really read
[3:02]or they've just heard what they've heard from their J prayer from
[3:06]their when you come and you tell them that you have to
[3:11]follow the and not the sahab they'll come and they'll tell you
[3:13]why what's wrong with the sahabah these are good thing these are
[3:18]a lot of good things that are said about the sahab these
[3:20]are a lot of Hadith narrations that you could hear praising Abu
[3:25]Bak praising Omar praising praising mua praising praising others so why do
[3:29]you Shia not follow them and the reply is twofolds one is
[3:37]that when when it comes to any Hadith we have to see
[3:40]the validity of that Hadith am I supposed to just accept any
[3:47]Hadith that I hear no I have to come and see the
[3:48]authenticity and the validity of the Hadith if I just come and
[3:56]tell you such and such without having a chain that is actually
[3:58]leading me to then this word is nothing this Hadith does not
[4:01]mean anything it has to have an authentic chain going back to
[4:09]and he says there are going to be many people that are
[4:17]going to fabricate narrations and attribute them toam so and we know
[4:26]that this is something that definitely happened this was something that definitely
[4:33]did happen where narrations were added and they were fabricated especially when
[4:39]we know that there was an agenda against the there was an
[4:44]agenda of establishing the power of a group of people and removing
[4:46]a group of people and this is very clear when you read
[4:50]the history of Islam you see that there were attempts at pushing
[4:52]the bit uh the bit were marginalized and then for example once
[4:59]muawiya comes to power the battle of sa and for 80 years
[5:02]Bena ruled and they would mua used to pay people to curse
[5:08]IM Ali and he used to pay people to go out and
[5:13]I have one thank you he would go out to go out
[5:18]and um say something against the so we know that this is
[5:20]a fact so now every Hadith that I see I have to
[5:26]go and see the validity of this Hadith so this is one
[5:28]this is we're not even getting in the the the details regarding
[5:35]this Hadith for example the Hadith of the 10 who are guaranteed
[5:38]Paradise now this is with you know put aside the fact that
[5:44]there are several problems in this Hadith by itself just for example
[5:48]this Hadith it is narrated by one of the 10 now we
[5:55]have a rule in in the in the lessons of Hadith in
[6:02]the study ofi and that rule is that and this is a
[6:04]common sense rule if someone comes and Praises themselves in front of
[6:10]you and they say for example I come to you and I
[6:12]say one day he told me you're the best Muslim out of
[6:16]all the sah you're the best person do I accept that Hadith
[6:21]no if someone else came and said that for example told me
[6:24]that fan is the best Muslim then I could narrate that but
[6:29]if he's telling me I am the best Muslim or I'm included
[6:31]in that group of people who are guaranteed Paradise then this Hadith
[6:35]cannot be accepted because you're praising yourself and one of those in
[6:40]the Hadith that says the 10 who are guaranteed Paradise one of
[6:45]them his name is SB Z he's one of the 10 he's
[6:47]narrating the Hadith so how could you accept that Hadith this is
[6:52]number one and second one if this Hadith was a very known
[7:00]very authentic Hadith then you would have heard everyone narrating this Hadith
[7:04]it would have been something that was very acceptable wide widely spread
[7:09]and widely acceptable amongst the Muslim amongst the Muslims and the sah
[7:13]and you don't see it you only see it's meaning one person
[7:15]heard it whenever you hear one chain of a Hadith then you
[7:21]put a question mark on it because you have to verify the
[7:23]validity and the honesty of the all of the people in the
[7:28]chain to accept the Hadith now if you see Hadith that has
[7:30]multiple people I heard this Hadith from this person and that person
[7:33]and the third fourth fifth they're all saying the same Hadith then
[7:40]you would accept it and so this is this is another point
[7:43]a third point is that would not guarantee someone Paradise unless this
[7:51]person is M because maybe this person after after Praises this person
[7:56]but then tomorrow this person might do something wrong so it goes
[8:01]against the and here another another if it was widely widely mentioned
[8:08]for example the Hadith of the 10 who are guaranteed Paradise one
[8:12]of them isman what happened toan in the end of his life
[8:18]he was killed by who the Muslims some of them were sahab
[8:24]of the Prophet they put a Siege on his house and they
[8:26]they they basically they put a Siege on his house and they
[8:31]killed him so if if it was known amongst the Muslims thatman
[8:35]is guaranteed Paradise do you think they would have done that they
[8:41]wouldn't have done that so here and especially knowing that there are
[8:45]sahaba there were sahaba who who who came and now say someone
[8:48]could come and say okay they did this the same thing with
[8:52]IM Hussein he's guaranteed paradise and there were Muslims that came and
[8:55]killed him but none none of those people who killed IM Hussein
[8:57]were from the sah of Al so these are um the refute
[9:05]this is the refute with um when when someone comes and tells
[9:08]you but there are narrations praising fan and fan from the sahabah
[9:12]you put a question mark on them this is one and the
[9:17]second point is that let's say these Hadith are accepted these Hadith
[9:21]are talking about this person at this particular time just like what
[9:29]we mentioned in in the previous session Allah is satisfied with the
[9:37]who gives as long as you have this title of M the
[9:41]day you're not a m anymore is Allah going to be pleased
[9:43]with you Allah is not pleased with you anymore so maybe if
[9:47]he praised someone let's say we accept this Hadith even though we
[9:50]have a question on all of those hadiths let's say we accept
[9:55]them but then yeah this would this would mean that this person
[9:57]has to remain with the H with the truth for the rest
[10:02]of their life if someone changes later on there's no guarantee this
[10:05]the same way when Allah subhana wa tala Praises B the Israelites
[10:09]they became the chosen nation of God and and they were the
[10:15]ones who who Allah chose them over all of other creation why
[10:18]because they have a covenant with God and Allah tells them if
[10:23]you keep that Covenant you're chosen the moment you let go of
[10:27]that Covenant what happens to you then you are cursed they are
[10:31]cursed by Allah subhana tala and the same is said about those
[10:37]who were companions with prophets and then they end ended up leaving
[10:41]and when we look at the those who were around we know
[10:45]for a fact that there were some who did leave the ways
[10:49]of there was a the Quran says that you will turn back
[10:58]over your heels or um the Hadith that we mentioned in the
[11:06]previous session where the Angels they tell about the you don't know
[11:13]what they did after you when the prophet he comes and he
[11:15]tries to give them water they're pulled away like the camel is
[11:22]pulled away says my companions the reply is you don't know what
[11:25]they did after you so now inshallah maybe um in another session
[11:30]we could go over one one by one these but we want
[11:34]to move on to another misconception and this is the misconception that
[11:39]some people they come and they say why do you sh exaggerate
[11:43]your love for the why do you sh Show so much attachment
[11:48]to the you go and you visit the graves you do Z
[11:54]you walk to the grave of IM Hussein and it they make
[12:00]it look like there's an upset session with the and they'll come
[12:05]and they'll tell you you love IM Ali you love IM Hussein
[12:08]you love the more than you love Allah you don't even give
[12:12]attention tool Allah you don't even give attention to your Salah to
[12:17]your worship and you focus on the and some of the ways
[12:22]some of the um arguments that some people have is for example
[12:26]the in in the mean the in individual or the the belief
[12:33]in the sh and the visiting of the graves and this is
[12:37]what leads people there are groups that come and they do like
[12:43]for example he was the fir the wahabis they come and they
[12:48]give they come and they say sh are not even Muslim they're
[12:50]cir and that's what basically allows them to legalize and make it
[12:57]okay to take away the lives of Shia and this is why
[13:00]we've seen throughout history many sh are always persecuted as a result
[13:05]of their beliefs as a result of their love for the so
[13:09]here with regards to this misconception you see that it causes a
[13:14]lot of suffering a lot of pain right now Muslim cemeteries the
[13:20]old the two oldest cemeteries in Islam one Cemetery in meca or
[13:27]that has the grandparents of that has khad and then there's another
[13:32]Cemetery in Medina they're destroyed raised to the ground as a result
[13:39]of this belief system so just look how dangerous it is to
[13:42]have misconceptions when you don't know you end up having misconceptions about
[13:46]a belief system you start doing Tak you start allowing the killing
[13:50]the murder the Bloodshed and this is what we see has been
[13:58]happening 1926 the was destroyed and was destroyed 100 years before that
[14:02]carala was attacked in the beginning of the 1800s carala was attacked
[14:07]and Naf was attacked as well and the shrine of IM Hussein
[14:11]was looted and many sh were killed so this shows you how
[14:18]dangerous it is to have these misconceptions first of all a lot
[14:22]of these misconceptions they come out of ignorance the sh first of
[14:25]all none of the sh for example they love the more than
[14:30]Al or worship the No in fact we believe that the the
[14:39]IMs of the they are the servants ofi he saysed I am
[14:46]from the Servants of the Prophet but we follow him because he
[14:50]was the greatest of the Servants of while the other sahab they
[14:54]did not follow the way they were supposed to follow he followed
[15:00]the best that is why he is revered and he is loved
[15:06]so inshallah today we will address in with what's remaining we will
[15:10]address the misconception of the Shia's visiting of the graves and the
[15:15]in the in the imams and then probably next session we'll talk
[15:19]abouta more so as for visiting the graves there are several points
[15:26]that we have to address because they'll come and they'll tell you
[15:29]it's Haram to visit Graves if you're visiting a grave of IM
[15:31]Hussein of IM Ali of the then this is that means you're
[15:39]worshiping that grave no one is worshiping a grave and in fact
[15:43]there are several points the first point is that our religion our
[15:48]beliefs Islam and the Quran and the Hadith of the Prophet teaches
[15:51]us to associate and love that which brings me closer to Allah
[15:56]subhana wa tala and disassociate myself with that which brings me away
[16:02]from Allah and this is a general rule that we have to
[16:04]have in life anywhere you go in life anything you want to
[16:08]watch TV you want to go a place you want anything you
[16:09]want to do in in life ask yourself does this bring me
[16:14]closer to God or does this bring me further away from God
[16:17]if it brings me closer to God then this is good if
[16:20]it brings me further away from God then this is Haram this
[16:26]is something that I should stay away from and this is in
[16:28]the what what we call as I have to as a Muslim
[16:38]I have to love the Believers I have to love those who
[16:40]remind me of God those who bring me closer to God and
[16:45]I have to disassociate myself from those who bring me away from
[16:48]Allah subhana tala and Allah subhana T says a in a verse
[16:54]in the Quran not only do I have to bring myself closer
[16:56]to that which reminds me and brings me closer to Allah but
[17:02]I have to glorify it Allah says in the Quran if you
[17:12]glorify the means the slogan or the something that that brings you
[17:21]closer that brings it's like from the word the slogan of of
[17:25]a community of a group of people meaning something that stands out
[17:29]of um um a belief if you glorify that then that will
[17:35]bring you closer to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala so what are certain
[17:42]things that Allah subhana wa tala commands Muslims and people to glorify
[17:46]for example a Masjid a Masjid that brings me closer to God
[17:50]I have to glorify I have to respect the Masjid this is
[17:52]why we have an Islam rules of respecting the Masjid we can't
[17:55]desecrate a Masjid if there's NASA if there's anything it's waj to
[18:00]clean it you can't bring in something filthy in you have to
[18:04]respect it and in addition to mjid there are other places that
[18:11]if they remind you of God then you have to respect and
[18:13]honor these places Allah gives us the example of the people of
[18:16]the cave they went and they slept in a cave and then
[18:24]after over 300 years what happened they the the community they found
[18:33]out that they were in there and they started they were sleeping
[18:36]or they had died in there and Allah subh says in the
[18:51]Quan so here Allah subhana T says we we kind of sent
[18:58]Clues to the people where the people of the cave are why
[19:03]so that they know that the promise of God is the truth
[19:08]and that there is no question in the day of judgment because
[19:13]if a group of people are able to sleep and then and
[19:18]then wake up after 300 years 309 years they're able to wake
[19:21]up so what happens that means someone is going to be able
[19:27]did I say it wrong okay someone is going to be able
[19:29]to to get up from their grave so so the people they
[19:44]were divided amongst themselves one group of people they said build something
[20:02]here to cover it and then another group of people they came
[20:06]and they said let's take this a Masjid now if there was
[20:13]any smell of sh of worshiping individuals if glorifying individuals means worshiping
[20:21]them would the Quran come and see approve of this the Quran
[20:24]would not approve of this but the Quran says the group that
[20:28]were overpowering those who are victorious in the matter let's make this
[20:36]place the place where they're buried the place where they're died in
[20:40]this in this cave let's make it a Masjid a place of
[20:44]a place of worship why because these people remind me of God
[20:48]because these people remind me of the day of judgment so here
[20:51]we see in the Quran it tells us that the people of
[20:56]anything that glorifies God anything that brings you closer to God you
[21:03]could glorify it one example is the people of the cave another
[21:06]example is not necessarily people Allah subhana tala talks about two mountains
[21:11]in mekah what are the names of these mountains saf and and
[21:21]are from the of God meaning they bring you closer to Allah
[21:27]subhana tala whoever does or they have to go and do between
[21:36]sa why because this is what reminds you of God this is
[21:43]what reminds you of Allah subhah similarly ibim where ibraim stood and
[21:53]he there was a rock that would lift ibraim Allah subhana wa
[21:56]tala tells every Muslim when you go and you do off around
[22:02]the after that what do you do go and pray now in
[22:09]the Kaa anywhere you pray you're facing the Kaa but after the
[22:15]TA where do you have to go and pray behind M ibraim
[22:17]why if ibraim is a human being what does ibraim have to
[22:22]do with that Allah says because of ibraim you come closer to
[22:25]me you get closer to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in fact the
[22:30]Quran goes a level further that it talks about the sheep and
[22:35]the cattle you know when people they used to go to Haj
[22:38]they used to take the sheep and the cattle with them this
[22:45]is called there's several types of and they would take from Medina
[22:54]they would take their goats and their cattle all that they want
[22:57]to sacrifice they would take it with them from the beginning now
[23:01]people in in or in they go and they take a sheep
[23:05]and they slaughter they buy a sheep and they slaughter it these
[23:07]people they would take the goats and the sheep and the camels
[23:12]they would take it with them so that they slaughter it but
[23:14]they would have to put a sign on it they would have
[23:18]to put a mark on it either you put your your shoes
[23:23]or or something you you you put it on you put it
[23:26]on it you put a mark on it that this is going
[23:27]to be sacrificed in the way of Allah subhana tala and throughout
[23:32]this whole journey they would not eat it they would not do
[23:34]even though they would get hungry they would not do anything Allah
[23:40]subhana tala says about that this bu this animal it is from
[23:49]the of Allah so if Mountain saf and are from of Allah
[23:56]if a camel or a goat or sheep is from the of
[24:01]Allah if the um the people of the cave where they're buried
[24:08]is of Allah is the grave of not from the sh of
[24:09]Allah is the grave of IM Ali not from the sh of
[24:13]Allah is the grave of IM Hussein not from the of Allah
[24:16]so this is number one second there are numerous Traditions from and
[24:24]from the Quran obviously in the Quran the verse of ma and
[24:32]from from Al that talk about the importance of visiting Al and
[24:38]visiting the the graves of the so in a from he says
[24:45]the one who performs the and does not visit me then this
[24:54]person has neglected me in another Hadith he says the one who
[25:00]visits me after my death it's as if you have visited me
[25:04]during my life and we believe that hears us when we visit
[25:11]him so and the Quran orders the Muslims inaha verse 64 Allah
[25:16]subhah wa tala orders the Muslims if they have oppressed eles where
[25:30]should they go they come to they asked next to you they
[25:40]ask Allah to forgive them and the prophet does for them you
[25:50]will see that Allah subhah wa tala is forgiving so is it
[25:56]is there a problem with me going to or me going to
[26:00]IM Ali or me going to IM Hussein or me going to
[26:01]any of the aah of Allah and asking Allah to forgive me
[26:07]next to them and asking them to ask Allah to forgive me
[26:12]this is direct very clear in the Quran they come to Allah
[26:15]they tell Allah we ask Allah to forgive us they ask Allah
[26:22]to forgive them andol Allah asks Allah to forgive them no problem
[26:27]with that whatsoever the sons of Yousef the sons of Yousef the
[26:30]brother excuse me the sons of Y the brothers of Yousef when
[26:35]they threw their brother in the well and they caused all of
[26:38]the misery and the suffering for Yousef later on they regretted it
[26:44]and they came to their father Y and what do they tell
[26:46]him they tell him he says I will ask Allah to forgive
[27:00]you now today they'll come and they'll tell you yes I don't
[27:09]they come to because is alive they come to because is alive
[27:17]you're going to a grave but we come and we say do
[27:22]we as Muslims believe that is really dead the body dies the
[27:27]soul does not die his soul is alive if the soul of
[27:34]a Shah according to the Quran the Shah does not die do
[27:38]not consider them dead they are alive so if the soul of
[27:43]a Shah is alive the soul of is not alive of course
[27:48]the soul of Al is alive and in fact Muslims in our
[27:51]prayer don't we say Salam to we all say Salam and salaat
[28:00]upon if that Salam and thatat has no meaning if the prophet
[28:05]is dead then that means we're doing something that has no meaning
[28:09]I'm just I'm just saying something with my tongue so of course
[28:12]not we believe that when I go to the grave of the
[28:17]prophets when I go to the graves of theah of the of
[28:19]the of the IMs that they hear me now another point the
[28:26]third point is that the if the belief that resorting to the
[28:32]grave of a prophet or the aah or the imams is and
[28:37]this belief is a new belief this is not something that was
[28:43]exist during the time of the Prophet or during the time time
[28:49]of the IMs of theam and you see that this ideology when
[28:59]did this ideology arise this belief it came into existence specifically during
[29:06]the time of about 800 years ago 7 to 800 Years Ago
[29:12]by IB T IB T was the one who came and he
[29:19]basically forbade people and did not allow people and made it haram
[29:22]and made gave a fatwa that it is Haram to visit Graves
[29:26]and he said it is Haram to visit the graves of and
[29:30]because he did that the Sunni government at that time he's buried
[29:36]in damasc in in sha in Syria the Sunni government at that
[29:39]time there were Sunni government they imprisoned him because of what he
[29:45]was saying and he died in prison he died in prison so
[29:54]this belief of this it is Haram it is sh to visit
[29:56]Graves this is new this is not something that has been practiced
[30:01]by Muslims by mainstream Muslims in fact right now go to Egypt
[30:06]go to Syria go toq abif has a grave in Egypt in
[30:12]there are Graves of of of of some of the sah of
[30:14]the Prophet go to Damascus you'll see Graves of Bena and many
[30:20]and many of those others so the belief in fact even I
[30:23]has a shrine the one who says it's Haram to have a
[30:27]shrine he has a shrine himself so when we look we see
[30:32]that the mainstream sah of they actually saw no problem whatsoever with
[30:39]visiting Graves there was no issue whatsoever this belief started by IB
[30:50]T but it died and then it was it came to life
[30:52]after the wahhabi movement grew the wahhabi wahhabi movement and this was
[30:57]after the discovery of oil in Saudi Arabia they became they started
[31:02]exporting that belief exporting that ideology across the Muslim world that it
[31:06]is Haram that it is sh to visit the grapes however when
[31:11]we look at our sources we see that there is no problem
[31:13]with that in fact I'll mention this Hadith ined he says now
[31:21]of course there were some of the sahabah of the Prophet that
[31:24]also did have this Twisted mentality this is not to say that
[31:31]no one had them but you see that in fact the majority
[31:34]they saw that there was no problem and they they had no
[31:40]issue with um with visiting Graves for example um in this Hadith
[31:49]by musnad Ahmed Hadith number 23585 he says Maran he came in
[32:01]the Masjid of the prophet and and Maran became khif Subhan Allah
[32:06]Maran was kicked out of kicked out of Medina by because he
[32:12]used to walk behind the prophet and make faces make fun of
[32:18]the Prophet so the prophet told him get out you're you're not
[32:21]you don't live here with us then Abu Bakr came to power
[32:26]they came and they told him bring back alham he said no
[32:28]the prophet kicked him out I'm not bringing him back in then
[32:31]Omar came to power they told him bring back Al he said
[32:33]no the prophet kicked him out I'm not bringing him back in
[32:36]then came to Powerman is related to him they're from the same
[32:39]Clan he came and he brought him in and Maran was the
[32:42]son-in-law ofman after the death of yazid B umya their rule was
[32:53]under the children of Abu sufyan muawiya and then yazid and then
[32:57]muawiya the son of yazid he ruled just for days and then
[33:03]the rule of B transferred to the maranis Maran and then ABD
[33:07]Malik Maran and then hasham and then the four sons of uh
[33:12]Maran and the grandchildren of Marwan they became the the Bena went
[33:17]from this line the line of Marwan a man who was very
[33:22]he used to show his hatred to the so he he walks
[33:28]in Maran and he sees a man he has his face on
[33:31]the grave of and Maran he told him do you know what
[33:39]you're doing so so he came he saw that this is Abu
[33:46]who has his face on the grave of Abu was the first
[33:50]man who welcomed the prophet in his home when the prophet migrated
[33:54]to Medina he stay he stayed in the house of Abu Ansari
[33:57]one of the poorest people in in uh out of the Muslim
[34:03]Community and by the way Abu Ansari is buried inul because he
[34:07]he the prophet told him that you are going to be in
[34:14]the conquest of Alia Constantinople and there were a series of battles
[34:18]and Abu Ansari died in that battle and he's buried inside the
[34:22]borders of inside actually inside the borders oful and until today if
[34:29]you go there you see the grave of abui so he tells
[34:35]him Maran he tells what are you doing he tells him it
[34:42]is me he tells him I came to visit am not visiting
[34:49]the Rock and the stone and the dirt and then he says
[34:54]he tells Maran he tells him he says he says I heard
[35:13]AB says I heard say don't cry about the faith religion if
[35:16]the right people are in leadership but cry for religion when the
[35:22]wrong people are in power meaning he's telling him you are in
[35:25]the wrong power this is one Hadith AB he comes and visits
[35:30]the grave of and he puts his face his cheek on the
[35:35]grave of another Hadith this is this is Hadith that is mentioned
[35:41]in volume one page 43 and this is a Hadith it's it's
[35:48]basically it goes back to meaning she herself she saw that there
[35:55]was no problem whatsoever with visiting the grave and in fact doing
[35:59]at the grave of she says there was poverty there was famine
[36:11]because of the lack of rain in Medina so these people they
[36:18]come the people of Medina they come to AA and they tell
[36:24]her what are we supposed to do pray for us so basically
[36:38]she tells them go and remove there was a dome there was
[36:44]a small cover over the grave of she says Let There be
[36:50]no cover between let the in the dome let there be an
[36:52]opening where between the grave of Allah and the Heaven and the
[36:58]sky there's no barrier so she says um he says that year
[37:16]it rained so much as a result of what they did that
[37:21]the grass grew and all of the camels and the cattle they
[37:24]became very fat and that year that year it was named as
[37:33]the year of the hernia because the animals were going so big
[37:36]they thought they were going to have a hernia because of how
[37:38]fat they they become so this is this is one of theith
[37:44]that basically it shows you that there's no problem with visiting the
[37:48]graves now what about some narrations there are some narration for example
[37:53]that come and talk about don't um don't visit Graves there are
[38:01]maybe there are some if if you were to accept those narrations
[38:04]there's another Hadith that is mentioned inl where says he says in
[38:17]the past I told you not to visit the graves but now
[38:23]you could visit the graves why does anyone know why why would
[38:27]and the beginning of Islam tell people not to visit the graves
[38:40]so yes one of the reason one of the is that the
[38:47]M the ideology of those people who were fresh Muslims the kufar
[38:51]in the beginning is that if I'm visiting a grave that means
[38:54]I'm worshiping this grave because even the idols that they had like
[39:01]hubel and L and these were in fact good people they were
[39:05]righteous people in their Community but they started worshiping them worship not
[39:09]worshiping them they started revering them until they started making Idols out
[39:13]of them and then they started worshiping them so if we were
[39:19]to accept this Hadith when the community was freshly Muslim they have
[39:22]just joined the religion of Islam these people they were just worshiping
[39:25]Idols so now he tells them don't worship don't don't visit the
[39:30]graves because now when you're visiting the grave this might bring you
[39:35]back to Idol but then later on when Islam became solid in
[39:41]the minds of people no one when you're visiting a grave do
[39:44]you imagine yourself worshiping this person of course not you know that
[39:47]this person's dead if they're dead then how is this person going
[39:51]to help you if if they're dead meaning meaning that the body
[39:54]is dead how's this person going to support you of course we
[39:56]believe that IM of the their souls are alive but no one
[40:01]is worshiping them no one is worshiping anyone when you are visiting
[40:04]the graves this is one reason the second reason is a lot
[40:11]of these Muslims when the prophet first tells them not to visit
[40:16]the graves what does why is he telling them not to visit
[40:20]the graves because whose graves are they visiting they're visiting the graves
[40:27]of their parents who are kufar they're visiting the graves of idol
[40:32]worshippers and in Islam you cannot even do you can't say Allah
[40:35]forgive this Idol worshipper because this person did not even believe in
[40:39]Allah subhanahu wa tala but then after the community grew and now
[40:47]you have this person's father is a Muslim so now or or
[40:49]you have a community of Muslims that are buried in the cemetery
[40:53]now you go and you visit the Muslim before that there was
[40:58]no community of Muslims in the cemetery everyone was a cafir now
[41:01]you have a community of Muslim then you go and you visit
[41:07]them and this is why you see that he would go and
[41:12]visit the graves and there are many benefits to visiting the graves
[41:17]narration say every Monday he would go and the cemetery of is
[41:21]walking distance from he would go and he would visit the graves
[41:30]he he would basically you are those who who believe in the
[41:35]Oneness of God I'm visiting you peace be upon you and there
[41:38]are many benefits of visiting the graves when you visit the grave
[41:44]you you you remember death you remove the attachment from this and
[41:53]then over time he made it okay to go and visit the
[41:58]graves and there's nothing wrong with that and then we see the
[42:00]imams of the Al They also continued that tradition visiting the graves
[42:05]of the aah and the she tells in her she tells him
[42:12]and come and visit my grave and recite Quran over my grave
[42:18]because the deceased enjoys when the Quran is being recited over the
[42:22]grave and the fifth and final point that we will mention is
[42:28]that from amongst the graves that we visit now it's recommended for
[42:31]us to visit of course it's recommended to visit the graves of
[42:35]your parents the graves of the relatives the graves of the m
[42:41]and the graves of those who bring you closer to Allah subhana
[42:44]tala and that is the prophet and the imams of the bit
[42:50]why because when you visit them you will become more religious when
[42:54]you visit them you will be you will get closer to your
[42:56]faith and they are those who are the representatives of the faith
[43:02]they are those who Inspire us to become better Muslims and this
[43:07]is um what every Community does right now when you remember someone
[43:13]for example here you have for example Martin Luther King Day you
[43:17]have President's Day you have several days that go back to certain
[43:22]individuals why because they want you to rever the sacrifices and the
[43:30]the contributions that this person made to this community so same we
[43:35]say when I visit when I visit the IMs of the we
[43:39]are basically strengthening our ties with Islam with the Quran with Salah
[43:45]by remembering the and those who bring us closer to Allah subhana
[43:49]tala so inshallah we will stop here in the next session we
[43:53]will talk about and and what is the legal um basically rulings
[44:00]behind doing shouldn't we turn to God why are we asking Allah
[44:04]or what does this person do by elevating my rank in Paradise
[44:10]how does that happen and who receives the Sha as well so
[44:14]so these are um what we will inshallah cover next week but
[44:20]does anyone have any questions as what was discussed today so um
[44:34]of course some of them we do but actually Imam Ali he's
[44:41]in that list they are Abu Bakr Omar Zu ABD Z and
[44:59]Abu actually we only only because all of the others they had
[45:03]issues Abu Bakr he took the he took the position he took
[45:10]the position of and and they all three of them they did
[45:17]that and Zu they waged the wars against the war of the
[45:24]war of Jamal against he was in the six the Council of
[45:34]the six and he chose he chose so he he basically chose
[45:43]abias he was the father of Omar one of he had the
[45:50]conquest of Islam um he did not give to he did not
[45:58]give toir even during his life and there's I don't know if
[46:07]there's something that we have against them maybe um but from those
[46:12]you can't the the this narration it is narrated by SB Z
[46:16]he how could someone come and narrate a Hadith praising themselves and
[46:33]that is that is something that is also true that between the
[46:39]m and the there was a bias and there was a fight
[46:41]in the day of the Sak there was a fight over the
[46:45]between the m and the ANS the ansar they said we hosted
[46:49]we brought you in and now you guys want to come and
[46:50]take all the power what what's from the muhaj yes no this
[47:00]is m not muah yes yes yes exactly exactly yes so saying
[47:47]Ali if you were to say it with the belief that with
[47:52]the belief that you are worshiping IM Ali of course it's Haram
[47:55]but just a asking for help from someone where's the where's the
[48:03]sh in that where's where's the Haram in that I'm asking for
[48:06]help from someone inshallah in the next session we will go through
[48:09]the uh details and why it is allowed and you will see
[48:17]that how many times did say Ali how many times did he
[48:20]call he would say y Ali so saying y Ali if you
[48:28]are believing that this brings you closer to God and closer to
[48:31]Imam Ali who brings you closer to God but you're not worshiping
[48:35]Imam Ali no one's worshiping IM Ali then there is nothing wrong
[48:40]with that yes Brothers okay
