Claims of Captured US Soldiers in Iran

Multiple claims exist of US soldiers captured by the IRGC- the US has refuted these claims, but in the age of information warfare, is the US government being entirely truthful? Was this just a slip of the tongue by Marco Rubio or could prisoners of war in Iran be reality?
