[0:28]foreign one of the greatest disasters and catastrophes that can fall upon

[0:59]an individual is when a person enters a life where sinning becomes

[1:10]a habit where it becomes very normal to disobey allah subhanahu wa

[1:17]ta'ala wake up you sin you then you go and you live

[1:19]your life and then you go to sleep and then it's everything

[1:23]is very normal nothing strange about it nothing wrong about it no

[1:26]nothing out of the ordinary and this is perhaps the most destructive

[1:34]thing that happened to an individual when a person is reckless when

[1:39]a person is careless and doesn't mind that they are disobeying allah

[1:46]because that lifestyle ends up not only destroying the person's afterlife but

[1:53]it ends up destroying the person's life we've seen we see what

[1:58]happens to liars for example you know you get your twitter account

[2:02]closed you see what happens to cheaters we see what happens to

[2:07]criminals we see what happens sometimes yes they get away with it

[2:15]and in this life maybe they got away with the injustice but

[2:17]definitely in the afterlife there's no running away from justice so the

[2:22]person who lives a habitual lifestyle of sinning this person is doomed

[2:28]this person is going to see the consequences of the wrong that

[2:32]they're doing and allah wa ta'ala has given us sensors every single

[2:40]one of us we have a warning system an alarm system a

[2:43]sensor that when we do something wrong we all feel regret we

[2:51]feel the guilt and we feel the shame this is something that

[2:54]allah has given every single one of us and this is what

[2:59]is referred to as the self retributing the the the these part

[3:08]of the soul that makes you feel bad you feel the guilt

[3:13]you feel the shame after doing something wrong and allah makes you

[3:32]feel bad especially when you've done something wrong you feel the shame

[3:37]and the guilt why did i disobey allah subhanahu wa ta'ala but

[3:41]this feeling this sensor it's only so strong with some people with

[3:48]some other people they don't feel the guilt they don't feel the

[3:52]shame why because now they're so used to sinning they're so used

[3:56]to disobeying allah subhanahu wa ta'ala that the censor doesn't even work

[3:59]anymore that this alarm system this warning system it doesn't even have

[4:03]an impact on you anymore it doesn't do anything because you keep

[4:08]crossing the alarm you keep you keep passing the red lines until

[4:11]you don't even feel it and this is what is referred to

[4:17]in the quran as the hardening of the heart when the heart

[4:22]hardens then therefore it's not going to feel guilt it's not going

[4:27]to feel shame it's not going to feel bad for hurting and

[4:31]doing anything wrong not everyone you know the the criminals a serial

[4:35]killer they don't start off from from the beginning of their life

[4:39]committing all the crimes they slowly progress until they reach that level

[4:45]the first time they commit a small crime they commit a small

[4:50]sin they feel bad about it and then they go and they

[4:51]keep crossing the line they keep crossing further and further and further

[4:54]until they don't feel it anymore allah talks about the those who

[5:02]their hearts are hardened in the quran then your hearts they become

[5:13]hardened that they are like the rock in fact they are worse

[5:17]than the rock because allah says sometimes rocks they they they break

[5:29]and water comes out of it have you seen a spring of

[5:33]water it comes out of the rocks comes out of the earth

[5:35]so even some even the rocks sometimes they're they're less hard than

[5:46]the hardening of the hearts in another verse says upon those who

[5:55]their hearts are so hard and hardened that they don't even remember

[6:00]allah subhanahu ta'ala they don't even remember their creator we live our

[6:05]lives as if we're not going to meet allah subhanahu ta'ala we

[6:08]live our lives as if we're not going to die we go

[6:12]to the cemetery we attend this war this fat had this we

[6:16]hear this person passed away but we live our lives as if

[6:22]we are invincible as if nothing could harm us as if nothing

[6:25]could happen to us will be upon those people in the who

[6:41]are those people who their hearts are so hardened those are those

[6:47]people who shaytan iblees takes full control of them takes full control

[6:57]of their matters and therefore they don't remember allah and therefore they

[7:05]forgot the remembrance of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala how does shaytan take

[7:11]control the first is when you don't remember allah subhana tala when

[7:15]you don't remind yourself of god shaitaan will take over if god

[7:19]is not in your heart shaitaan will enter and this is one

[7:25]of the first tactics of iblis shaitaan is to get us to

[7:30]forget allah it's prayer time you're playing a game you're watching a

[7:34]movie you're watching the inauguration and then you say you know what

[7:40]let me just watch this let this finish and then i'll pray

[7:42]and then something else comes something else comes and then later on

[7:48]you see it's almost time that the prayer is kala the prayer

[7:51]time is almost over or it's already over and i haven't prayed

[7:56]yet who does that that's shaytaan shaytan comes and doesn't tell you

[8:00]don't pray shaytaan tells you pray in an hour and then once

[8:03]an hour comes he'll tell you okay you have another half an

[8:07]hour you have another five minutes you have another 10 minutes until

[8:10]you haven't prayed and until slowly it becomes normal it becomes okay

[8:15]to delay your prayers allah says in the quran that pray to

[8:24]remind yourself of allah subhanahu ta'ala why do we pray prayer is

[8:28]not the goal of the believer some people they say yeah i'm

[8:33]praying and then they go and they sin no prayer is supposed

[8:35]to remind you of allah subhanahu ta'ala and once you are reminded

[8:40]of god then you're going to be living a god-conscious lifestyle then

[8:44]you're going to have taqwa allah says pray to remember god prayer

[8:51]is not the goal remembrance of god is the goal but the

[8:55]means and the vehicle to remember god is through salah is through

[9:01]fasting it's through going to hajj it's through the acts of worship

[9:08]another reason why some people are their lives are taken over by

[9:17]shaytaan is too much attachment to this dunya when they're so attached

[9:21]to this life that they're willing to cross all red lines they're

[9:26]willing to do whatever it takes to get what they want in

[9:31]this life we've seen people we've seen people for the sake of

[9:35]this life for the sake of power for the sake of money

[9:38]for the sake of certain things in this life they're willing to

[9:45]cross all red lines this is why imam sadaqa salaam he says

[9:50]the love and the attachment to this dunya it's the head of

[9:59]every fault anytime someone sins it's because something that has to do

[10:04]with this dunya that because they're so attached with this dunya they're

[10:07]so attached to this dunya they're willing to disobey allah for the

[10:14]sake of this short dunya now one of the major causes of

[10:21]sinning and disobeying allah subhanahu ta'ala one of the first initial stages

[10:28]of disobedience to allah is as we said not remembering allah or

[10:34]attachment to this dunya or when shaytaan takes over you but there's

[10:39]an early stage there's something in the beginning and that is by

[10:48]belittling sins by saying okay the sin it's not a big deal

[10:50]it's okay if i come and i commit the sin nothing's gonna

[10:55]happen no one's going to die i'm not hurting anyone we start

[10:58]giving ourselves a million excuses to make it okay to disobey allah

[11:05]first you start with the smaller sins and then later on even

[11:10]with the vixens even someone who has committed major crimes they'll try

[11:15]to justify it in one way or another they don't come and

[11:18]say i'm a sinner they'll come and they'll try to justify oh

[11:21]say it we're living in america now what do you want me

[11:24]to do they'll they'll give you a million excuses to try to

[11:32]justify it justify the wrong habits that they have but the the

[11:36]issue is that you don't have to justify it to me or

[11:40]to anyone else on the day of judgment you have to justify

[11:42]that to allah when you sin when you disobey allah you don't

[11:47]hurt another person but you are hurting yourself with allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala

[11:53]and the first step the first stage of disobeying allah it begins

[12:00]with undermining looking down at the sin meaning saying oh this is

[12:09]not a paid this is not a big deal you know just

[12:13]as becoming closer to allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has a process you

[12:16]don't start off one day you wake up and you're connected fully

[12:19]connected with allah there's a process you start slowly and then you

[12:23]build on that process until you're connected with god similarly living a

[12:31]disobedient lifestyle it also has a process one of the early stages

[12:35]of that process is by undermining and neglecting and looking down at

[12:42]the sin meaning when you're about to commit a sin you're about

[12:49]to do something wrong you say it's okay god is god is

[12:53]forgiving i've done so many good things it's okay god's not going

[12:58]to punish me for this small thing we start putting ourselves in

[13:04]the position of allah and then we start justifying for ourselves why

[13:09]it's okay to commit such and such acts do we see people

[13:15]do that in this life yes people who end up jail they

[13:19]come and they say oh the judge is not going to hold

[13:21]me accountable when i run this light the cop is not going

[13:24]to see me when i do this or do that no one's

[13:29]going to catch me but with allah can we say god does

[13:33]not see me no you can't say god does not see me

[13:37]so what do we end up doing we end up saying yeah

[13:38]but god is not going to punish me for this this is

[13:42]something very simple there's a hadith from the imam he says that

[13:48]the greatest of the sins is the sin that the person says

[13:52]that if god if god is only going to hold me accountable

[13:56]for this then i don't mind meaning we're looking down we're undermining

[14:01]and we're belittling that sin and who is it that comes and

[14:07]forces us to belittle the sin it's iblees shaytaan the job of

[14:16]shaytaan the duty of iblees is what to try to motivate us

[14:20]and convince us to have the courage and have the audacity to

[14:25]disobey allah subhanallah that's all that iblis wants i believe it doesn't

[14:28]doesn't care for you doesn't care for your happiness now maybe in

[14:32]this life they'll come and they'll tell you yeah you know be

[14:35]yourself be independent be strong some people they come and they use

[14:40]these type of motivational words to try to get people to disobey

[14:43]allah try to get people to do wrong maybe these people they

[14:47]have good intentions but shaytan does not have good intentions shaytan wants

[14:54]people to disobey allah subhanahu wa ta'ala this is why is referred

[14:58]to the one who whispers in the heart the one who comes

[15:13]and tells you it's okay don't worry right now this year you

[15:15]didn't give your zakat you didn't give your home she didn't do

[15:19]your charity you didn't pray you didn't fast you didn't go to

[15:23]hajj next year you'll be able to it's okay it's okay god

[15:27]is you'll be able to in any way possible he tries to

[15:33]convince you to delay the wajib and therefore disobeying allah subhanahu ta'ala

[15:38]or sometimes committing a lie lying what do some people that lie

[15:45]what excuse do they come and say oh it's just a white

[15:48]lie it's okay you know as if there's a white lie in

[15:52]a no lying is lying they'll come and they'll he'll they'll try

[15:55]to justify it in any way possible sometimes these people shaitaan iblis

[16:00]comes and tells them and sometimes these people are so experts that

[16:03]they teach iblees they've become so experts at the game that they

[16:09]don't need shaytan anymore now they're they're enough or some people they

[16:15]come and they commit insurance fraud tax fraud they come and they

[16:19]break the law and then when you come and you tell them

[16:20]they say yeah but they say they're not muslim it's okay you

[16:24]know breaking the law against non-muslims it's okay so now this person

[16:29]is a sinner and also a fakie also someone who gives fatwas

[16:36]as well so we a lot of the human being has the

[16:40]habit of trying to justify all of the wrong that they're doing

[16:44]disrespecting other people you tell them why they say oh i didn't

[16:48]steal from this person i didn't hit this person i just you

[16:52]know i just broke this person's heart it's not a big deal

[16:54]it's not a big deal to you but maybe for the other

[16:58]person it's a big deal so we should not undermine and look

[17:04]down at the sins and some of these we don't even notice

[17:06]because our sensors our warning system doesn't even work for these type

[17:10]of things it works for for example murder for drinking alcohol for

[17:15]doing these big sins sometimes we feel a little bit of shame

[17:20]and guilt but some of the smaller sin or what regard a

[17:23]smaller sins our warning system does not even work some people every

[17:27]day they go and they sit in gatherings where there's gossip where

[17:31]there's riba where there's backbiting the moment you're talking about another person

[17:37]in a way that you would not talk about them to their

[17:43]face then that becomes riba then that becomes haram and even if

[17:48]you would talk to them in their face you're not allowed to

[17:53]talk back talk bad about a man a believer when they're not

[17:57]there mention anything even if it's they say oh say it but

[18:00]this is something that this person does have it's a quality of

[18:03]a person saying this person's short this person's tall this person limps

[18:06]this person is this and that this is also not allowed this

[18:11]is haram one day one of the wives of the prophet she

[18:16]saw she saw a lady pass by and all she did was

[18:20]this with her hand meaning that she's short she just brought her

[18:24]hand down and she did this rasool allah said you lost your

[18:26]thawab gesture just doing this with your hand meaning that this person

[18:33]is short this is reba this is backbiting we should not look

[18:38]down we should not minimize it and and say oh it's not

[18:40]a big deal i'm not hurting this person making haram income haram

[18:46]form of wealth a lot of people when it comes to salah

[18:48]when it comes to zakat when it comes to all that they'll

[18:51]come to the masjid they'll do everything but when it comes to

[18:55]their income they say sayyid that has to do with my job

[18:56]that has to do don't tell me islam don't tell me i'll

[18:59]make income in the way that i want and then i'll go

[19:02]and i'll donate to the masjid making haram incomes haram income income

[19:08]that ends up hurting other people you're you're investing in a company

[19:12]that is haram that is that is making money off of haram

[19:17]these are all haram things and we have to be very careful

[19:25]for so be very careful not to minimize and belittle a sin

[19:30]because allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will hold us accountable perhaps the biggest

[19:36]sin the biggest sinner started one day minimizing and looking down at

[19:44]a small sin there's a hadith of from ibn abbas and i

[19:48]believe the imams of the albeit also narrate this a man during

[19:53]the time of the israelites his name was barcelo this man he

[19:58]was a abid meaning a worshiper he was such a good and

[20:03]devout worshiper that he didn't even live with the people he lived

[20:05]on the mountain and the valley on his own and his dua

[20:10]was accepted so people they used to come and they would bring

[20:13]people who were sick people who were you know they they're suffering

[20:18]from some type of disorders and problems they would come and they

[20:21]would bring them and they would leave them with this person and

[20:24]then he would do to offer them and then they would be

[20:29]cured allah would answer his prayers one day a group of brothers

[20:34]they come and they bring their sister who was sick who's ill

[20:38]who cannot understand they come and they bring her and they leave

[20:42]her there and they go shaytaan comes to this person and tells

[20:46]this person come and abuse and assault this lady because she's not

[20:52]going to notice she's not going to understand anything so he thinks

[20:57]that it's a small sin shaytan tells him no one's going to

[21:01]find out no one's going to realize he comes and he assaults

[21:04]and abuses this lady a while later either signs of pregnancy show

[21:10]or he fears that she's pregnant so shaytaan comes to him again

[21:13]and he tells him kill her so he goes and he kills

[21:17]her and then he goes and he buries her and then his

[21:20]brothers they come and they start looking for her tells them i

[21:25]don't know shaytaan the same iblis that came to the man and

[21:28]tells him to sin he used to come in the form of

[21:32]a body a person he tells them this is the man he

[21:36]killed her and this is where she's buried they go and they

[21:40]see the body of their sister the brothers they all killed their

[21:46]sister they go to the king the king brings this man to

[21:52]town and begins to they judge against this man capital punishment this

[21:55]man is going to be killed for what he has done they

[21:58]come and they want to hang him or crucify him so iblis

[22:04]comes to him once again he tells him look what you did

[22:08]to me you told me to sin and then my sinning my

[22:12]dua was not answered anymore and then everything started going down shaytan

[22:17]tells him i could save you right now he says how he

[22:20]tells him all you have to do is do sujud to me

[22:24]prostrate to me he tells him how i'm on the cross how

[22:26]can i prostrate to you right now he tells him all you

[22:30]do is bring your head down like this he brings his head

[22:32]down and at that moment he dies a person who was a

[22:37]devout worshiper whose dua was answered ends up becoming someone who dies

[22:43]worshiping shaytaan allah talks about this in the quran my dear brothers

[23:02]and sisters we have to be very careful from minimizing the sin

[23:08]and looking down at the sin because when we do that eventually

[23:12]that's going to make us lose that form of immunity lose that

[23:17]protection and then we're going to go for another sin a bigger

[23:20]sin and then we're going to go for a bigger and bigger

[23:25]sin eventually sinning and disobeying allah subhanahu wa ta'ala becomes very normal

[23:31]this is why we have to stop the sinning and the bad

[23:35]habits from day one from the first second i see a lot

[23:41]of people they come and they say you know what i'm watching

[23:44]a movie here and there and it has some bad scenes it

[23:49]has some haram scenes doesn't matter i'm not doing anything wrong in

[23:53]islam we're going to be held responsible for our eyes what it

[23:58]saw for our ears what they heard for our tongue what it

[24:04]says for our hands for our feet every organ responsible those eyes

[24:09]do not feed the eyes that which is haram because later on

[24:14]it's going to slowly start going to look at things that are

[24:19]much worse that are destructive to family that are destructive to society

[24:23]and the community when it comes to listening some people they say

[24:29]you know what i'm okay if i listen to some music here

[24:33]and there now of course not all music is haram scholars they

[24:37]come and they differentiate they say that the for example classical music

[24:42]or the music that doesn't get a person to start dancing and

[24:46]become all you know the music that is in in inappropriate circumstances

[24:50]anything other than that should be allowed according to some scholars other

[24:55]scholars they take tiata and percussion and they say you should avoid

[25:00]it all but all scholars say that the what the music that

[25:03]is going to put you in a in a condition in a

[25:08]state where you are turning away from allah where you're not going

[25:12]to be in the remembrance of allah subhanahu ta'ala that is haram

[25:16]so this is perhaps one of the sins that some people minimize

[25:20]some people they do istighfaf they say you know it's okay it's

[25:25]not a big deal i'm not hurting anyone yeah you're not hurting

[25:28]anyone you're hurting yourself the hadith the hadith says the house where

[25:35]music and the haram type of music the angels do not enter

[25:46]into it and the dua is not answered and there's going to

[25:54]be a calamity in that house what kind of a calamity a

[25:57]calamity meaning you get in a car accident you get disease you

[26:01]no fujiya a calamity and religion meaning that you put yourself fear

[26:09]in an environment that is far from god obviously you're going to

[26:14]end up committing sins that bring you further and further away from

[26:19]allah so these are things that we have to be very careful

[26:23]for today on instagram tik tok facebook a lot of these you

[26:29]know these social media apps and tools and websites especially for the

[26:37]youth like tik tok you know i'm i'm i'm too old for

[26:39]tick-tock but i've heard about it you know they said it's all

[26:45]dancing from what i've heard it's you know people they just have

[26:47]the camera their phone in front of them and they're dancing in

[26:50]front of it this is something that you should avoid because it's

[26:54]nothing good is going to come out of it but the chances

[26:59]of bad and worse are many so you have to be careful

[27:06]for and it all begins with minimizing and looking down at the

[27:10]sin says the worst and the greatest of sins is the one

[27:18]that the person looks down on doesn't care oh it's not a

[27:21]big deal that means you say i don't care that god is

[27:22]watching me i don't care that allah is watching me oh god

[27:27]is going to forgive me what guarantee do you have that allah

[27:30]subhanahu ta'ala is going to forgive you imam al-baqarah the greatest calamity

[27:43]is when you look down upon the sin and you say the

[27:50]sin is not a big deal because see when someone for example

[27:53]they're sick they come and they say i'm sick i'm sick i

[27:55]go to the doctor and you seek treatment but committing a sin

[28:00]and not caring about it is like a person who's sick but

[28:03]refuses to go to the doctor even if it smells out with

[28:08]a star stall starts out with a small illness but that small

[28:11]illness could develop into something much greater that later on any doctor

[28:16]that come they would not be able to stop it in another

[28:22]hadith he tells his companion abdullahi he tells them he tells him

[29:01]o son of masood do not belittle a sin and do not

[29:05]say that this sin is too small be very careful from the

[29:12]greater sins because on the day of judgment when the people they

[29:18]see their sins their eyes will cry blood because of the torment

[29:25]that this sin is going to cause them and then he recites

[29:29]this verse in the quran on the day of judgment every single

[29:41]soul they will see the embodiment of their own actions you did

[29:43]good you did salah you gave charity you went to hajj you

[29:46]helped the masjid you did these things you will see it right

[29:51]in front of you and also if you have done something haram

[29:56]you will also see the embodiment a physical embodiment and this is

[30:02]what scholars refer to as meaning that the the the actions they

[30:06]will take a manifestation a physical form on the day of judgment

[30:10]you will see the good it will come and it will help

[30:16]you in the grave it will help you on the day of

[30:17]judgment and you will also see the bad actions anything bad that

[30:25]it did but that day the soul is going to say only

[30:33]if i did not commit these wrong things only if i could

[30:38]stay away from these wrong things so we need to be very

[30:42]careful my dear brothers and sisters because the sins pile up [Music]

[31:04]they put it together and they light a huge fire then rasulullah

[31:07]tells them this is how the sins accumulate this is how the

[31:12]sins add up my dear brothers and sisters we ask allah subhanahu

[31:16]wa ta'ala to bless you and protect you all and protect us

[31:20]and give us the immunity from sinning and disobeying allah subhanahu wa

[31:30]ta'ala alhamdulillah was foreign
