[3:42][Music] am away [Music] [Music] foreign in [Music] foreign the first clear
[5:40]point about mary or maryam the mother of jesus is that she's
[5:44]only the only female mentioned by name in the holy quran the
[5:47]quran is replete with examples of many great females indeed if you
[5:54]were to look from the beginning of the quran till the end
[5:56]you'll see a number of wonderful females who have existed who have
[6:01]been the very embodiment of spirituality of morality had always had the
[6:08]highest levels of respect and had sacrificed everything that they had for
[6:13]the lord right from the beginning of the quran you see for
[6:15]example nabi adam's wife hawa one of the greatest ladies to ever
[6:21]ever lived on this earth you see for example the wives of
[6:26]nabi ibrahim you have sarah and hajjar whose stories in the quran
[6:31]relate to two prophets of god the prophet ismail in the case
[6:37]of hajjar and the prophet is heart in the case of sarah
[6:40]you look for example in the quran it's arguably one of the
[6:45]greatest displays of patience anyone will ever see and that was the
[6:49]display of patience that could be seen in the example of the
[6:54]wife of nabi ayub loses everything in life children family health wealth
[7:00]and his wife remains a backbone for him and the quran mentions
[7:05]how she is alongside him throughout all these struggles another female mentioned
[7:12]the quran are the two sisters meets and sees show the greatest
[7:17]amount of respect that you'll ever see and eventually according to narrations
[7:22]he ends up marrying one of them another of the females in
[7:26]the quran that you'll see are of course the wives of rasulallah
[7:31]you'll see within the holy quran the wives of the holy prophet
[7:36]are mentioned each of them in a different stage of their life
[7:38]each of them in a different context each of them a verse
[7:43]of the quran in one way or the other dividing them into
[7:45]categories but you don't see the names of the wives of rasulallah
[7:51]even though we view the holy prophet as the highest of the
[7:56]prophets and the greatest of the creations of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[8:00]is not in the quran yes for example is not in the
[8:07]quran zainab is not in the quran is not in the quran
[8:10]is not but the verses allude to them in one way or
[8:18]the other ayub's wife is in the quran but her name is
[8:23]not there musa's wife is in the quran but her name is
[8:26]not there nobody ibrahim's wives are their names there no the first
[8:33]striking point about maryam is that she's the only female who is
[8:38]mentioned by name in the holy quran what's an honor that allah
[8:46]gives to this lady that her name is not just mentioned once
[8:49]in the quran if it was mentioned once then someone could say
[8:54]for example that zayd the companion of rasulullah is also mentioned in
[8:58]the quran does that mean he's greater than every companion who's mentioned
[9:03]no month you found that maryam is mentioned over 30 times in
[9:07]the quran according to some 34 times in the quran that's more
[9:10]than in the bible maryam the mother of jesus is mentioned more
[9:16]in the quran than in the bible you'd think that how many
[9:23]churches you go to you see maryam statue there or an image
[9:26]of maryam there how many christians in the world revere and admire
[9:32]maryam rightly so yet it's the quran that mentions maryam more than
[9:37]the bible the quran mentions her by herself of her own right
[9:41]of greatness maybe 11 times so let's say a third of the
[9:45]mentions of the quran of maryam are what are mentions of maryam
[9:51]in her own right and the others you'll always say and that
[9:58]always begs the question why doesn't allah yes to highlight the greatness
[10:13]of this lady and that's why in the world that we live
[10:17]in today where many people are doing studies on feminism on female
[10:21]rights on female icons on female archetypes without a doubt one of
[10:28]the greatest that could be studied for her role in humanity and
[10:31]the evolution of male female relations because many times we discuss we
[10:40]discuss the two of them and we talk about how possibly they
[10:45]could be feminist icons and by the way when i say feminism
[10:48]or feminist it doesn't mean that this fits them into one description
[10:53]feminism in itself can be broken down into many definitions some of
[10:58]them which we agree with some of them we completely reject but
[11:01]of the definitions is a recognition of the status of the female
[11:05]within society a recognition that the female is equal to the male
[11:11]in creation by allah the female is not some rib of adam
[11:15]the female is not the cause of suffering the female can achieve
[11:20]the highest level of success spiritually in her time and can be
[11:26]closer to god than many of the males around her the female
[11:29]has a right to worship the way the male does the female
[11:33]has the right to gain knowledge the way the male does even
[11:37]islamic knowledge many times when we think of islamic knowledge we always
[11:40]think of male scholars don't we say it for example for example
[11:51]but hardly ever do we mention the names of ali one of
[11:57]the movements of feminism was who is it that could be an
[12:03]icon in recognizing that i have as much right to study the
[12:06]religious literature as the men of my time if the men of
[12:11]my time are the rabbis or the priests or the imams or
[12:15]the mawlanas or the sheikhs why can the females of the time
[12:18]not also study that same religious literature as well you imagine how
[12:26]this particular lady would cause ripples not just in her time but
[12:30]in the time when the the swords were revealed that disgust her
[12:34]you imagine the verses that i just quoted now from surat al-imran
[12:37]we said yesterday al imran are the family of who the family
[12:44]of maryam maryam's dad is imran jesus's granddad you imagine when this
[12:49]was revealed in arabia did arabia have the highest image of the
[12:53]female when the quran was being revealed in arabia was the female
[12:58]respected was the female given the highest of love the highest of
[13:01]respect the highest of honor not necessarily so what changed it what
[13:05]begun to change it was that the quran began to educate the
[13:11]arabs by showing them examples of females who are a metal for
[13:15]them an example for them therefore what the quran was doing was
[13:19]telling the arabs if you look down at a female then how
[13:23]could you respect maryam and look down at a female if you
[13:26]look down at your mom or your sister or your niece or
[13:30]your daughter or if you claim they cannot study you claim they
[13:32]cannot be close to god you claim that they are not even
[13:37]worth living then come and look at the example of one of
[13:39]the greatest ladies to have ever lived on the face of this
[13:43]earth let us examine tonight the birth of maryam hassalam and see
[13:49]the many wonderful lessons that may be learnt why did her mother
[13:55]hannah really want a child to be in the service of god
[13:58]how does the quran say wales a male is not like a
[14:05]female does that mean males are better than females or does that
[14:09]mean their roles may be different or their nature may be different
[14:14]or their ways may be different or their temperaments may be different
[14:17]further than that how important is it that allah mentions when her
[14:23]mother says the naming further than that is it true that shaytan
[14:29]is the cause behind every baby crying loudly except jesus and his
[14:36]mother and what does bukhari mean when abu hurairah narrates such a
[14:39]hadith for us further than that how is it clear within the
[14:45]surah that in the middle of a group of scholars in the
[14:47]temple she begins to emerge as the highest of scholars and can
[14:52]a female one day become a merger or will we always only
[14:56]follow male maraja and how important is the upbringing of maryam and
[15:01]how important is it that we look at her upbringing and the
[15:06]upbringing of our children in the society today let's examine this and
[15:10]dissect the topic in complete depth there are certain prophets in the
[15:14]quran there is no mention of their birth and no mention of
[15:19]their parents reaction when they were born maryam got all of that
[15:23]if you ask anybody in the quran there is no mention of
[15:28]the reaction of a mother of somebody when they're born in the
[15:32]quran there's only really one may argue true descriptive styles or narratives
[15:39]when it comes to someone's birth mary and jesus is there anything
[15:44]that describes the day he was born is there anything that describes
[15:49]in the quran how his mom felt no you look at for
[15:53]example ibrahim alaihissalam is there anything in the quran that describes the
[15:57]day ibrahim was born and how his mother felt the day he
[16:00]was born musa maybe there's an allusion to the dangers of his
[16:05]birth and having to put him in a basket down the nile
[16:10]but you see mariam and jesus what's common about them is that
[16:13]allah describes the moment they're born and the reaction of their families
[16:20]when they're born why are allah why describe this why not just
[16:23]say maryam was born for example let's say for was born 20
[16:26]years before jesus came onto this earth this is who her dad
[16:31]is this is who her mom is and then fast forward why
[16:35]mention what happened at the birth because allah subhanahu wa ta'ala wanted
[16:39]to highlight for us lessons from one lady's birth and how applicable
[16:42]those lessons are to our life today what did we say yesterday
[16:46]hannah wanted a child sometimes our mothers yearning for a child can
[16:52]come just by looking at a bird feeding its children isn't that
[16:56]true there are mothers in this world who part of their nature
[16:59]they may have maternal instincts and these maternal instincts can be affected
[17:03]simply by looking at a bird feeding its children some mention that
[17:09]her maternal instinct struck him others mentioned that she was from the
[17:13]line of haroon they call them aaronites and the idea of the
[17:22]aeronaites was that they were the custodians of the temple you see
[17:25]how for example rasulallah they were from families who were the custodians
[17:32]of the kaaba mariam's family were the custodians of the temple that
[17:37]temple in jerusalem everyone still fights about that area is it the
[17:42]temple of the jews at the temple of the christians is it
[17:44]the temple of the muslims inshaallah there will be a day where
[17:48]all of us can live together in that area without fighting without
[17:52]killing without oppressing without showing any racial hate towards one another and
[17:59]rather live in a world of a plurality of opinions a religious
[18:02]pluralism between the muslims and the christians and the jews but that
[18:06]temple of sulaiman left a legacy where everybody wanted to be the
[18:11]ones who protected that if i give you a trivial example to
[18:15]make it easy for you how much of an honor would it
[18:19]be for you that you're able to serve in the haram of
[18:22]for example haram how much would it be an honor that you
[18:25]cleaned the floor would it be a big honor for you or
[18:29]no would it be an honor for you to collect the shoes
[18:31]outside the haram of imam hussain do you know how many years
[18:37]sometimes there are waiting lists for people to just stand and give
[18:41]the shoes you know when you go to the haram and you
[18:42]leave your shoes there are people who are doctors who have stood
[18:47]there and they collect the shoe for you you think that this
[18:52]guy is some person who just works them no for them it's
[18:54]a dedication to abba al-hussein i see for example some workers and
[19:01]the measural haram the bangladeshi workers that i see there for some
[19:05]of them they're earning a living for others of them it's a
[19:07]great honor for them to be serving the house of allah the
[19:10]same was in the time of marayama nabi the time of maryam
[19:15]what was there for example idea of karbala we see today was
[19:20]can i serve the temple temple of david solomon can i serve
[19:26]that temple there were people who were serving who were hypocrites and
[19:30]there were people who were serving who were believers all the ways
[19:33]you'll find in the religious institutions there are people who are serving
[19:37]who could be the biggest hypocrites and there are people who are
[19:40]serving who are genuine there are some who are serving because it's
[19:44]a family business for them and there are others who are serving
[19:49]because they sincerely want to serve the part of allah therefore wanted
[19:53]a child what did we say yesterday god revealed to imran the
[20:00]husband of hannah he said you're going to have a son so
[20:03]she's thinking when i'm giving birth of course not like technology today
[20:06]where the doctor will tell you a few months before that by
[20:09]the way you're gonna have a daughter or you can have a
[20:10]son and those days you wait until the day that you give
[20:17]birth the moment she gave birth she's thinking alhamdulillah your son one
[20:28]day will cure the blind and cure the leper the famous miracles
[20:32]can you imagine that you and your mrs are in the maternity
[20:37]ward at a hospital all of a sudden having thought and been
[20:43]told literally by an email from the heavens rather than an email
[20:46]from for example the local hospital in london an email that says
[20:49]to you that you're going to have for example you're going to
[20:53]have a son all of a sudden the husband's standing there and
[20:56]they look and they're like oh my god this is a daughter
[21:02]and um what's going on here why is it that we have
[21:10]a daughter god promised you a boy yeah said yeah i said
[21:16]a boy who you said will cure the leper and the blood
[21:20]he said yes yes he said he said that in my family
[21:22]i'm going to have that if god saves you in your family
[21:26]it could be your grandson true doesn't have to be your son
[21:29]but they're looking they're like my god we've got female wales and
[21:37]the male is not like a female what's she thinking in her
[21:43]mind she's thinking number one i thought i'm gonna have a boy
[21:47]now i've got a girl number two at that time to serve
[21:50]in the haram you generally had to be a male yes there
[21:57]are many of these harams you don't see for example haram there'll
[21:59]be some ladies who may be security and for example but all
[22:04]in all the people cleaning juicy ladies cleaning or men mainly around
[22:11]the haram no of course there's sections which has to be there
[22:14]for the ladies but mainly isn't there men walking around so she's
[22:18]thinking they said the karu can answer the male is not like
[22:23]the female this one line can have a thousand books written about
[22:27]it the male is not like the female the more chauvinistic males
[22:33]out there will say blah blah i told you even god in
[22:37]the quran says men and women are not the same they said
[22:41]we the men are the best no one is like us we're
[22:45]the most powerful we're the strongest we make the decisions for everything
[22:50]and how many times do you hear men saying and the woman
[22:55]is stupid and the woman is dumb and the woman has no
[22:57]right to open her mouth the woman all you do is you
[23:02]cook you clean you serve you produce nothing more nothing less because
[23:07]if i took that ayah alone like that couldn't i take it
[23:10]out of context i could check that eye and say look allah
[23:13]says the male is not like the female therefore allah subhanahu wa
[23:16]ta'ala is saying that the male is great and why do you
[23:20]think these feminist movements sometimes emerge they emerge sometimes because of a
[23:25]re-reading of the tafasir we cannot deny that in our books of
[23:29]tabsir there was a certain period where there was a patriarchal type
[23:34]analysis on certain eyes from a male world view where in your
[23:38]culture you look down for example that the female so what did
[23:42]you end up doing you end up looking at ayat of the
[23:44]quran and say for example when you look at an ayah like
[23:51]that that the plots of woman are what are always evil let's
[23:53]say in the story of nebuchadnezzar how many times do you hear
[23:58]saying and say one story of the usual every time a woman
[24:06]does something indicator indicator all the ways you apply it there are
[24:10]some who will take ayahs like this and they'll say sure but
[24:17]deckard is the male elon in which way firstly the male and
[24:27]the female spiritually can they reach the same level or is it
[24:32]that males can only reach the highest level of spirituality in islam
[24:34]can males and females reach the highest level spiritually yes they can
[24:38]can a female end up being spiritually higher than a male on
[24:43]the one point of this ayahuala karu kalantha means what bring a
[24:49]number of males they are not like this answer yes if you
[24:54]bring all the males who are living at that time they are
[24:58]not like the female that we've given you subhanallah you can bring
[25:02]all these men who claim to be the best of the books
[25:08]that have come before the torah and the sabor and so on
[25:12]but these males are not like the female the female that we've
[25:16]given you is on a different level this male and female therefore
[25:21]in islam spiritually can they reach the highest level they both are
[25:26]equal when it comes to spirituality they can both reach the highest
[25:31]level sometimes there are debates then why is it that inejal balara
[25:34]sometimes imam ali is quoted to have said things like they are
[25:40]deficient in their faith they are deficient in their intellect and he
[25:43]gives examples because of the monthly cycle all because for example of
[25:48]the witnessing and therefore women are not that high level somehow said
[25:53]well the context of such sermons relates to a battle like jamal
[25:56]other ulama said no it's not a book which you say everything
[25:59]within it is accepted there are certain things within the next the
[26:03]next is not 100 to be taken for everything to be said
[26:06]there's a context to everything there are certain things that may be
[26:10]taken from other sources the quran therefore when it said wales wasn't
[26:13]for me and you say males are not like females males are
[26:16]great no on the one hand it was to say males are
[26:20]not like this female on the other hand there are certain things
[26:22]that subhanallah is true it's true that men are not like woman
[26:25]there are certain things that women have which men do not have
[26:29]which men will not have there are certain things which in the
[26:33]nature of the female is completely different from that of the male
[26:38]does that mean if my nature and the females nature is different
[26:42]that means that i'm high or lower no allah created both of
[26:45]us equal spiritually we can reach the highest levels equally but subhanallah
[26:51]sometimes part of our nature is different if you give a couple
[26:56]of examples look at a couple of examples female sometimes if you
[26:59]look at studies that have been done in psychology and so on
[27:04]you'll see sometimes the female her natural adept is higher than the
[27:08]adapt of the male yes the natural adeb of the female sometimes
[27:13]a bit softer there's a bit more etiquette yes the natural there's
[27:17]a bit more etiquette sometimes you see our dads and our moms
[27:20]an example sometimes our dad's bit louder and sometimes you might see
[27:27]that the mom there's a bit more of a softness there might
[27:29]be a bit more for example of an etiquette in the way
[27:34]things are done sometimes men love to brag about everything they've achieved
[27:37]they love to be loud about everything they've achieved sometimes women hold
[27:41]back from bragging about everything that they've achieved does that mean the
[27:46]female is less than the male because if i say maryam is
[27:50]a feminist archetype it's not everything in feminism that i necessarily am
[27:54]going to agree with some people said no the female and the
[27:56]male socially are the same no there is a natural adapt to
[28:00]the female that the male cannot equate there are males who do
[28:03]not have that natural adapt that the female have secondly i'll give
[28:05]you another example who do you think sometimes is quicker to smile
[28:08]psychology shows that the female smiles quicker than the male when she
[28:14]sees a male now someone says what haram female smiling at the
[28:18]male no sometimes because of knowing one's natural disposition is not as
[28:22]strong as the male then already it's a defense mechanism the smile
[28:27]yes it's like if i'm listen if i'm five eight and there's
[28:31]a guy who's six seven i ain't straight we're gonna look at
[28:33]that guy and say what you're looking at let's give me a
[28:35]little bit of a you're right me because there's a sense of
[28:39]a defense mechanism that female likewise that smile that emerges straight away
[28:45]is not flirting rather there's a defense mechanism there thirdly sometimes sometimes
[28:50]there may be a female who'll reach the highest position of power
[28:54]because she's not been around males for a long time to face
[28:57]that loudness and that intimidation that exists i think it was pamela
[29:04]stone had done research on high achieving females and she showed high
[29:08]achieving females who went to female only schools in their life does
[29:11]that mean that any girl who goes to a female in school
[29:15]will be high achiever no but when you're in a female only
[29:16]school you don't have that loud male the male's messing about the
[29:20]males acting stupid when they're going through adolescence further than that there
[29:25]are females who could do certain things which us males can never
[29:28]do yes believe you me sometimes if you ask me watching liverpool
[29:32]versus city this afternoon if you asked me say edna you're watching
[29:36]liverpool city if you don't mind can you just send an email
[29:40]at the same time yep if you don't mind and just give
[29:43]me that i'll say bye-bye i'm watching the game please don't interrupt
[29:45]me i cannot focus on anything else i could look to my
[29:49]side and look at my mom i could see for example someone
[29:54]on the phone talking cooking preparing getting ordering all at the same
[29:59]time when the quran says the male is not like the female
[30:03]the quran was right and that's why there are books which are
[30:05]written men are from what are what is the books that are
[30:08]written men are from one even i've forgotten the name of the
[30:12]book certain planet mars or venus or jupiter or saturn god knows
[30:17]there's books which are written which show that there is a difference
[30:23]in the makeup that may exist between the male and the female
[30:26]maybe biologically there are differences but so what you found is that
[30:30]allah wanted to highlight that wait wait wait wait wait firstly don't
[30:34]be disappointed when a female comes to you subhanallah can you imagine
[30:37]the message that was there to the arabs when this ayah was
[30:39]revealed why some of the arabs what were they doing when this
[30:43]ayah about maryam was revealed some of the arabs were burying their
[30:47]daughter alive yes the female baby will ask on the day of
[30:55]judgment for what reason was i buried alive what crime had i
[31:00]committed yes male are not as great as some females even some
[31:06]in the feminist world always want to compare themselves to male why
[31:10]why you make the male the barometer make yourself the barometer why
[31:13]are you making the male why does the male you make yourself
[31:18]the barometer when the arabs therefore would hear this it would affect
[31:21]them remember the quran is talking about mariam who lived a few
[31:24]hundred years before the arabs and is saying to them this female
[31:29]is greater than any male we would have given this lady that
[31:34]we've given you you're disappointed that you've been given a female don't
[31:38]be disappointed don't worry that male is not like that female the
[31:44]female will achieve success and that male will achieve success at the
[31:50]same time as well so therefore what you have you have on
[31:54]this occasion something very clear and that is that the quran wanted
[31:58]to highlight that there is a seeming evolution at this stage in
[32:02]humanity on where the woman deserves to be let me explain when
[32:08]at the beginning of humanity adam and eve there was a certain
[32:14]basic understanding of the male female relationship as it went to nabi
[32:18]it did continue to develop when should have ibrahim develop went through
[32:25]musa developed now with dabia isa now we reach an environment where
[32:29]the ladies of the past were at a certain level in terms
[32:34]of their ability to be within the religious circles now the quran
[32:38]was opening the door that this temple is not to be only
[32:42]the service of men now we're going to break that we're going
[32:45]to allow women to slowly get into positions of higher religious leadership
[32:53]because at that time the idea that i could give my daughter
[32:56]towards the temple was unheard of there might have been bits and
[33:01]pieces some examples but generally it was only the males suddenly the
[33:04]quran was saying the male is not like the female and the
[33:11]quran continued to tell us what mariam's mom done maryam's mom is
[33:16]sold now and i have named her maryam yeah allah why do
[33:25]you need to tell us to highlight that one of the first
[33:29]rights of your child even before your child is born is that
[33:33]you give them a good name yes today in our muslim community
[33:36]you call your friend you're like bro salaam how's everything say oh
[33:40]good good i heard masha allah you got a daughter he said
[33:43]give the name what's her name he gives you a name you've
[33:46]never heard of in your life you're like bro what's that he
[33:49]said bro i went on google i typed called islamic names what
[33:54]does that name mean he goes oh that means flower in japanese
[34:01]it means flower in japanese how does that help the child yes
[34:06]firstly at school we don't want them to feel that they're not
[34:11]you know they're lacking an identity we want to give them a
[34:17]different name say okay bro a different name even there's certain muslim
[34:19]names for the love of god there are certain muslim names where
[34:22]all of a sudden now these muslim names can be applied there
[34:27]are names of envya suddenly recently there's been a great movement of
[34:31]people who love prophets from the children of israel if there is
[34:36]a film about noah i'd call my child noah and i'll call
[34:40]my child moses i'll call my child adam and i'll call my
[34:42]child abraham not even ibrahim and even wives of prophets there are
[34:46]people who go down that route no problem at the end of
[34:50]the day give her or give him a name where the person
[34:53]when they grow up they're like that's who i was named after
[34:56]correct why do you think wouldn't stray far away from two names
[34:59]muhammad ali muhammad ali why because they wanted to make sure that
[35:13]the name that was given to the child was the best of
[35:17]names because they could see that the umayyads and the abbasids will
[35:19]eradicate ah bait by eradicating such names the mother straight away when
[35:25]she said she highlighted as a mother that i wanted to make
[35:31]sure that my child was what that my child was a child
[35:36]who was going to be given a name maryam could mean beloved
[35:40]loved something beautiful that she was given what does that mean that
[35:58]means very clearly that she's saying that you are allah i seek
[36:06]refuge for my maryam and her progeny from shaytan which points emerge
[36:11]number one the dua of the mother is fundamental our mother's for
[36:14]her children is vital in their upbringing she straight away maryam shaytan
[36:26]these children of mine or this child of mine shaytan one day
[36:30]is gonna come and say listen why don't you smoke some drugs
[36:33]enjoy it listen you can go to the mosque in muharram you
[36:38]can do for example you can remember imam al-hussein what's wrong with
[36:42]having some weed have some what's wrong with smoking some joints what's
[36:46]the issue why not go clubbing why not for example party and
[36:48]drink alcohol as much as you can all of us it doesn't
[36:54]matter which house we've come from even if your house loves a
[36:56]little bit more than any the reality is the dua of the
[37:02]mother is fundamental otherwise shaytan can whisper to each of us a
[37:06]whispering which can hurts us completely from the path of allah subhanahu
[37:10]wa ta'ala heard straight away wasn't you know what my husband is
[37:14]a prophet so that means that my kids will all turn out
[37:19]to religious nah no way sometimes it's the religious whose kids are
[37:24]the biggest headache sometimes it's the families who are religious whose kids
[37:30]come out the least religious if a family takes their eye away
[37:38]and does not pray to allah from the curse of shaytan then
[37:40]that family could easily be affected how many times you see sadly
[37:45]in the muslim world you see someone who's a religious scholar and
[37:48]his sons or his daughters have come out far away from the
[37:52]path why because that person can try and try but the reality
[37:56]is what maryam shows us mariam shows us something very clearly and
[38:00]that is i ask allah that ya discusses this interestingly when a
[38:22]baby is born the reason a baby is born and cries loudly
[38:26]you see when babies cry loudly as soon as they're born it's
[38:29]because shaytan is prodding them so when we all cry loudly when
[38:38]we're born it's because shaytan is for example pinching us so shaytan
[38:43]pinches us and then we cry loudly this is where abu hurairah
[38:47]narrates this except you who rasulullah no no if rasulallah gets the
[38:53]pinch i the shiite i am the one who doesn't show enough
[39:01]love for rasulallah me we're the ones who don't show enough love
[39:07]huh doesn't write books unless there are narrations for him to use
[39:12]to write a book like the satanic verses you need nice traditions
[39:16]to build a satanic versus content you need the literature shaitan prods
[39:23]you when you're born as a baby that's why you cry loudly
[39:26]every human goes to uh hospital when they give birth shaytan's pinching
[39:32]their baby shaytan's pinching except true rasulallah no no even rasulullah musa
[39:39]and even moosa got pinched everyone got pinched except jesus and his
[39:45]mother why because his mother said to her in the shaytan regime
[39:54]so because she read that dua jesus and mary don't get pinched
[39:59]or prodded by shaytan when they're born rasulullah everyone gets affected everyone
[40:04]so baba if everyone can get pinched by shaytan including rasulullah why
[40:09]am i following rasulullah why for what reason if my own prophet
[40:12]shaytan can affect him the moment he's born why am i following
[40:15]that prophet then yes at the end of the day i can
[40:20]easily be in a situation where i could follow someone else do
[40:26]we as she are therefore firstly do we ever take abu huraira
[40:28]no never and nor will we ever of course if another school
[40:34]in islam wants to take abu hurairah as their chief narrator and
[40:36]as their great figure wallah you're more than welcome and keep him
[40:40]but for us the shia we do not take abu hurairah nor
[40:44]do i take bukhari or muslim these are for you the most
[40:50]important works not for me other schools in islam may take them
[40:52]and if you're going to tell me that my prophets were prodded
[40:56]or that everybody gets prodded by shaytan except jesus no her was
[41:02]what she wanted to make sure that her daughter and the generation
[41:06]from her daughter are protected by shaytan and ya allah we ask
[41:12]you for that as well because all of us fear for the
[41:14]akkad of our children with the world that they're living in at
[41:18]the moment how difficult is the for the children at this moment
[41:22]it's extremely difficult for a person in this world when it comes
[41:27]to their kids so many different viewpoints so many different beliefs people
[41:32]coming left right and center this is allowed everyone has rights no
[41:35]one can question people's rights there is no barometer no boundaries whatsoever
[41:38]truly this dua of hannah for maryam highlighted that the upbringing of
[41:47]that child becomes fundamental and that's why did allah discuss the upbringing
[41:51]of that child of course he did in exactly the next verse
[41:58]allah mentions the upbringing of that child there is a particular you
[42:04]know it is a plant in all honesty when someone says normally
[42:08]refers to plants highlighted that we are the ones the parents are
[42:15]the ones who are part of the cultivation of their child imam
[42:22]amir al-islam says the heart of a youth is like an uncultivated
[42:26]piece of land whatever you throw on it it accepts is that
[42:30]not true what did hannah do hannah wanted to make sure that
[42:36]her child from a young age was in the service of allah
[42:39]she got the child to be devoted to allah she made sure
[42:45]that that child notice here that the verse would say that she
[42:51]was cultivated in a wonderful way but when the quran says what
[43:02]is the difference between the two the difference between the two is
[43:07]and better contrast that the first one is highlighting that part of
[43:15]that upbringing was the parents making sure that their children were heading
[43:19]in the right direction notice hannah wants her child to be near
[43:23]the senior of her time wants her child to be near their
[43:28]majesty of her time wants her child to be near the houses
[43:31]where allah is remembered i as a parent have to take from
[43:36]the example of mary's mom mary's mother recognized that we will break
[43:41]the stereotype that only men can be in the service of god
[43:45]no my daughter will be in the service of god my daughter
[43:47]can be higher than all the men who are around her it
[43:51]doesn't mean the world is dictated by men who gain knowledge my
[43:54]daughter can gain knowledge of allah as well my daughter i want
[43:59]to make sure she's in the proximity of allah not when it's
[44:01]a mo loud i'm sitting at home my kids are playing what's
[44:03]the latest console tell me what's the name of the latest console
[44:08]which everyone plays games on give me an example of one what
[44:10]is it ah what's it yes ps5 masha allah i've quoted 15
[44:15]verses of the quran in this lecture you have not replied to
[44:21]one ps5 a person plays it no problem play it enjoy have
[44:23]they gone to shahad at amir al-mu'min have they gone to read
[44:28]on a thursday night have they gone to their local center the
[44:32]first example of that upbringing was the mom was concerned that she's
[44:36]near the house of allah fundamental you can't be parents who are
[44:40]only concerned they get to the best private schools the best colleges
[44:42]best unis and not concerned that they're in a house where allah
[44:47]has remembered that was part of it but the second part of
[44:50]that phrase was what was that the other part of it is
[44:55]that the child has to work on themselves as well yes one
[44:57]part is that you have to instill in the child the other
[45:01]part is that the child has to work on themselves you think
[45:05]mariam just relied on her mom and said mom you put me
[45:10]here mariam herself was devoted maryam herself made time to read about
[45:13]god made time to learn about god there are some youths who
[45:18]say i hate lectures lectures are boring the mosques are boring if
[45:20]the mosques are boring and the lectures are boring you go and
[45:24]do your own reading there's a lot to learn online there's a
[45:26]lot to learn on websites there's a lot of brilliant courses online
[45:30]there's a lot of great youtube videos online there's a lot of
[45:33]great crash courses online which are personal why do you always say
[45:38]oh the mosques are what's boring mariam croatia said mom why you
[45:41]put me here this place is boring it's all men i'm a
[45:46]female i've got no friends there no she made her environment she's
[45:49]the one at a young age who said you know what i'll
[45:53]find my way of getting closer to allah allah subhanahu wa tahalah
[45:58]will open doors for me believe me all the youth who watch
[46:01]this at home stop pointing fingers at the mosques because always know
[46:05]when you point three there are two pointing back at you part
[46:08]of it is the upbringing of the parents but not everything can
[46:12]be blamed on the parents that's why is the child not religious
[46:15]sometimes the child has to take the initiative themselves you think it
[46:19]was easy for a female in the middle of all those men
[46:22]all those people who had learned and understood the books of the
[46:27]torah for her to be in their presence it wasn't easy but
[46:30]she herself dedicated and that's why that lesson of her dedication at
[46:36]that young age had rippling effects on generations of children where do
[46:42]you find it on the plains of karbala no doubt because zainab
[46:47]alaihissalam herself zaineb without a doubt she was a great mom say
[46:50]the zaynab salaam but her boys were great boys as well yes
[46:55]the mom was great the mom was an unbelievable figure the mom
[47:00]had raised awn and muhammad but muhammad also raised themselves the mom
[47:06]had raised her two boys but her two boys also had to
[47:11]make a stand one day to say we cannot blame the teachers
[47:13]or the lecturers or the mosques rather we're gonna have to answer
[47:18]one day for what we did for rasulullah our grandfather and what
[47:22]we did for imam al-hussein and that's why you look at those
[47:28]two boys did they blame the community did they blame the mosques
[47:31]they stood in front of the army of yazid and they came
[47:33]forward and they broke the heart of abba abdullah you look at
[47:40]the conversation between them and their uncle when they came forward they
[47:43]said our uncle it's our turn to come out on the battlefield
[47:48]yes he said to them my dear own and my dear muhammad
[47:49]go back your mother go and look after your mother go protect
[47:54]your mother they went back their mother said what's going on and
[47:57]the reply that came was mom we went to him but he
[48:01]said go back and protect your mother so we've returned back here
[48:04]she looked towards him and she looked towards them and she said
[48:12]to them that i will go and talk to him she went
[48:14]and talked to him she said to him do you remember when
[48:19]abel came out on the battlefield how proud was my father and
[48:23]he was at a young age he said so yes i remember
[48:27]she said further than that what do i tell my mother on
[48:29]the day of judgment that everybody gave sons towards you on the
[48:36]tenth of muharram what do i answer which sons did i give
[48:39]everybody is given lailah has given akbar ramallah has given qasim has
[48:44]given a six-month-old baby what do i answer at the end i'm
[48:49]gonna have to answer for what i gave for her she had
[48:53]raised her children but it was the children who took initiatives you
[48:56]know what the children said to their mom and their uncle uncle
[49:00]don't be scared from one side we are the grandsons of ali
[49:05]and from the other side where the grandsons of jaffa are they
[49:11]both headed towards the battlefield within a few moments both of them
[49:15]lay on the ground calling out assalamu alaikum as they both lay
[49:24]on the ground imam al-hussein carried the both of them back to
[49:27]the tent can you imagine hannah when she saw mariam born it
[49:33]was an emotional moment for her never to see mariam's body cut
[49:41]into pieces on the ground in front of her can you imagine
[49:44]the heart of zainab hasalam when she saw her two sons laying
[49:53]there with blood all over their bodies but they never that mountain
[49:56]of sabor she remained patient did not cry at that moment she
[50:03]waited when she went to kufa the other ladies remembered their boys
[50:07]but zainab remained calm again when they went to sham the remember
[50:14]their children but she remained calm again when they went to carabella
[50:18]the ladies all remembered their children but she remained calm again when
[50:24]did she break down my dear brothers and sisters when she returned
[50:30]back to medina as she entered the house she saw two empty
[50:34]mattresses in the room what a mattress belonging to own and another
[50:39]belonging to muhammad the worst of feelings for a father or a
[50:45]mother is when they see the beds of their children without their
[50:51]children on them she broke down what is it that the poet
[50:55]says it's as if she said it's as if she called out
[51:00]i would have cried for the both of you when you died
[51:05]but i held myself [Applause] follow her example and the example of
[51:36]her appearance in this world and the hereafter we pray to allah
