[1:28]love and the teaching of Allah to ensure that every individual or

[1:34]family in the community can be part of this project we have

[1:41]divided this land into a 99 mini lands the fuel each labeled

[1:48]with one of Allah's 99 names and we did an additional 114

[1:53]mini lands with the names of each Surah of the Quran any

[2:00]individual or a group of individuals collectively or families can sponsor one

[2:06]of the names of Allah for five thousand dollars or a Surah

[2:11]name for three thousand dollars so far alhamdulillah in the matter of

[2:16]only few months we have raised close to 570 000 with our

[2:22]goal to raise a total of nine hundred fifty thousand dollars in

[2:26]the coming four to six weeks to close on the land by

[2:31]the end of the summer brothers and sisters you can look into

[2:35]this as a request to donate for Mecca but is in fact

[2:42]an opportunity an opportunity that Allah only gives For Those whom he

[2:48]really loves to pay for building a house of Allah and earn

[2:52]the privilege of having a hasanagarya that gives you and your families

[2:57]blessings and hasanat 24 7 365 days a year and even after

[3:05]we leave this Dunya this is an investment in your Dunya and

[3:10]Akira and when you invest in the way of Allah your investment

[3:15]can only grows an investment that's guaranteed to succeed and the result

[3:25]can be seen in the Dunya before the insha Allah brothers and

[7:41]us the capability to make our own decisions in life and to

[7:45]express ourselves in the way that we see fit you have the

[7:51]freedom of speech you have the freedom of expression one thing that

[7:57]makes the human being unique is the ability to communicate with one

[8:01]another and Allah considers this as one of the greatest favors of

[8:08]God upon us have we not given you eyes and a tongue

[8:14]and two lips and we have shown you the way in another

[8:24]verse Allah talks about the gift of Bayan Allah created the human

[8:36]being and then he created the Quran for us as a blueprint

[8:39]to live our lives and then he created the Quran he created

[8:47]the Quran and then he created the insan and then Allah he

[8:52]gave you the ability to express yourself now my dear brothers and

[9:00]sisters today when we look at a society we want to see

[9:02]how how much Freedom does this Society have one of the first

[9:10]measures to measure how much freedom and democracy is in a society

[9:14]is to see how much freedom of expression exists in the society

[9:18]do members in the society are they free to express themselves or

[9:23]are they living under a dictator because today there are some countries

[9:27]if you say one word you might get your head chopped off

[9:33]you write one tweet you might end up in jail you might

[9:35]end up in prison and then there are other countries where you

[9:41]have the freedom to express yourself you have the freedom to speak

[9:44]the freedom of expression and the freedom of speech and this is

[9:49]one of the main measures of a society how free are people

[9:55]in that society today many Muslims my family specifically came to this

[10:00]country because of freedom of speech this is one of the reasons

[10:07]because many in Iraq were persecuted under the time of Saddam if

[10:10]you say one word you could go to jail many scholars they

[10:15]were killed because of the words that they uttered so the freedom

[10:22]of expression is a valuable gift that we should not take for

[10:29]granted now my dear brothers and sisters when it comes to Islam

[10:32]as a religion oftentimes Islam is under the microscope and Islam is

[10:38]being scrutinized and attacked and one of the misconceptions against the religion

[10:42]of Islam is that look at you Muslims you you give no

[10:46]freedom of expression there's no freedom of speech in Islam anyone who

[10:51]says anything right away this person is killed right away this person

[10:55]is imprisoned you don't have the right there are blasphemy laws and

[10:59]apostasy laws and this is one of the misconceptions that are used

[11:04]against the religion of Islam against the Quran and then they come

[11:06]and they tell you look at look at Europe look at the

[11:09]West look at how much Freedom exists in these countries how people

[11:13]are allowed to express themselves in however way they want so let

[11:18]us address this issue Islam as a religion does it allow freedom

[11:24]of speech does it allow freedom of expression and if it does

[11:30]allow in a society if there was freedom of expression how much

[11:33]freedom of expression and speech is healthy for a society and how

[11:39]much and at what levels does it become unhealthy for a society

[11:42]and for a community and then we will look at the double

[11:45]standards that exist and how fingers are pointed at the Muslim Community

[11:53]at Muslims while those who are pointing their finger they are also

[11:58]accused of restrict restricting and suppressing freedom of speech and freedom of

[12:06]expression when we look at the Quran we see that Allah has

[12:11]inherently given every human being the ability to express themselves the ability

[12:18]to speak the ability to say what's on your mind you have

[12:23]a mouth and you have a tongue and Allah has given you

[12:26]the freedom to say whatever you want yes Allah is watching Allah

[12:32]is the judge Allah tells us don't say something that is not

[12:36]good for you don't say something that will end up hurting you

[12:39]well foreign don't say that which you don't know don't say something

[12:50]that will end up harming people however inherently as a human being

[12:54]before a Muslim you have the right to express yourself gives us

[13:02]several examples of freedom of expression when Allah created Adam Allah tells

[13:08]the angels Allah tells the Angels I'm creating I'm placing a Khalifa

[13:22]on Earth what did the angel says the angels they expressed what

[13:36]was in their heart they spoke out and they said you're going

[13:41]to create someone you're going to create on Earth someone who's going

[13:46]to cause Bloodshed and fighting and we glorify we glorify you what

[13:51]does this mean this means that the Angels had the freedom of

[13:55]expression the Angels even though it is Allah they had the freedom

[13:58]of expression furthermore you see Iblis shaytan when Allah ordered for the

[14:06]angels to bow to Adam the Angels they made the expression and

[14:11]then they obeyed they obeyed Allah however I believe shaytan he says

[14:17]I am better than him I was created from fire and Adam

[14:29]was created from soil that Allah tell him no I'm that's it

[14:32]you have no right to speak Allah shows us that even Iblis

[14:37]in the wrong he had the freedom to express himself the Angels

[14:41]they had the freedom to express themselves yes cursed a bliss for

[14:52]saying that and for refusing to obey Allah Allah kept him today

[15:03]you find some people they don't even allow anyone to say a

[15:08]word to them if you object right away you're going to get

[15:10]your head chopped off if you say a word right away you're

[15:15]going to be killed and persecuted look at how I believe speaks

[15:23]to God look at how the Angels they objected and then Allah

[15:26]allowed them furthermore there are examples of freedom of speech and freedom

[15:35]of expression from the life of rasulullah when he migrated from Mecca

[15:40]to Medina one of the first things rasulullah did as soon as

[15:44]he migrated is that he established the constitution of Medina and rasulullah

[15:52]he wrote in that he gathered some of the Jewish tribes and

[15:57]some of the other non-muslims he gathered them and he says and

[16:01]it was written down in that mithak that every citizen of this

[16:08]city every citizen of this town has the freedom to express themselves

[16:11]the Jews they had the freedom to worship they had the freedom

[16:15]to believe they had the freedom to practice their religion the same

[16:20]way the Muslims do today some people they come and they say

[16:23]in Islam Muslims cannot coexist with anyone Muslims are intolerant of others

[16:30]this is not true in Islam there is freedom of religion freedom

[16:36]of expression and there's tolerance to other faiths to other practices the

[16:40]same way Allah when he entered into Medina he allowed the Jews

[16:45]and the tribes of the Jews to practice their faith and practice

[16:51]their beliefs furthermore established a community that is based on democratic values

[16:57]where the members of the community they have the right to practice

[17:03]shura issues concerning them issues concerning their lives they had the right

[17:19]to have a council and they had the right to speak about

[17:21]it today there are some countries where if you say your opinion

[17:26]you say what's on your mind right away they're going to bring

[17:29]out the psalm that's it there's no freedom of expression there's no

[17:33]way to say what's on your mind established a community based on

[17:41]Surah based on counsel yes rasulullah the matter of Imam the matter

[17:46]of divine leadership this is a matter that is not up to

[17:49]the people because people cannot choose who's the representative of God but

[17:52]people could choose who represents them this is why the matter of

[17:57]Imam is a side issue there's no Surah in Imam but other

[17:59]issues if I want if we all want to gather someone that

[18:03]represents us for our worldly matters then we could represent someone then

[18:07]we could go we could appoint someone democratically elect someone that represents

[18:12]us we can't democratically elect someone that represents God because that person

[18:17]would not whoever it may be that person would not be able

[18:19]to speak on behalf of God if this person has not been

[18:23]appointed by God and look at the society in Madina rasulullah created

[18:28]an open Society a freedom-loving society a society where freedom of expression

[18:34]was tolerated and allowed and sometimes some of the sahaba they would

[18:39]transgress and abuse because of so much Freedom that was given to

[18:46]them they would go to the prophets and they would call him

[18:49]Muhammad come to us until the Quran came and told them no

[18:54]no this is not how you speak to rasulullah yeah do not

[19:02]raise your voices over the voice of the prophet and do not

[19:06]call him the way you call each other there were some cases

[19:11]where some of the sahaba that because of so much Freedom that

[19:14]was provided for them by Islam and by the Quran and by

[19:19]rasulullah that they thought that they could speak to rasulullah however they

[19:22]want one day a man was distributing some of the Dirhams some

[19:33]of the wealth Distributing it equally amongst the Muslims one of the

[19:36]men this man he tells rasulullah Muhammad be just rasulullah tells him

[19:47]adult I am just he tells him wo be upon you if

[20:11]see how rasulullah was today some people they think that rasulullah was

[20:38]he goes and he pays back the person he goes and he

[20:42]pays him back but when he pays him back he pays him

[20:45]back in private no one saw when rasulullah paid back the person

[20:49]so then that man he said you know what this is an

[20:54]opportunity for me to make some more money out of this maybe

[20:57]he forgot he goes in front of in front of the rasulullah

[21:02]and he tells him pay me back my money rasulullah told him

[21:06]I paid you back I gave you your money back he says

[21:10]no you didn't rasulullah told him I paid you back your money

[22:10]killed with in one of the battles now you see the level

[22:18]of Freedom allowed some of those individuals to even disrespect rasulullah we

[22:22]all know what happened the last Thursday before the death of rasulullah

[22:26]passed away on Monday the Thursday before is what is referred to

[22:32]as Razia when rasulullah was on his deathbed and he tells the

[22:37]Muslims he tells them bring me there were several men gathered around

[22:40]him he tells them bring me a pen and paper and I

[22:45]shall tell you that which you will never be misled after one

[22:49]of them is gathered there he says the book of God is

[22:58]enough for us the book of God is sufficient for us the

[23:01]man is hallucinating this is what is referred to as Razia means

[23:07]the Calamity of Thursday that led to the day of Ashura because

[23:13]rasulullah was not allowed to voice his opinion subhanallah rasulullah created a

[23:18]society and atmosphere where everyone has the freedom of expression but he

[23:23]was not given the opportunity to write his own will he was

[23:28]not given an opportunity to say what he wants and they say

[23:32]yes so my dear brothers and sisters these are all examples of

[23:40]Tolerance examples of freedom of expression that were created by the religion

[23:44]of Islam and by the Quran and by the Islamic values and

[23:46]then you see the rightful leader after rasulullah he comes and he

[23:54]follows the same principles the same values as rasulullah Imam he says

[24:02]one day during his time this is not the time in between

[24:06]during his Khalifa time he's praying the Fajr prayer and he is

[24:09]reciting the Quran in the Masjid and in the prayer he's reciting

[24:16]the Quran and one of the Hypocrites by the name of IBN

[24:18]Kawa this man while Amir was reciting the Quran he also begins

[24:24]to recite the Quran and the etiquette is that when the Quran

[24:27]is being recited you should listen to it goes silent he wants

[24:33]to see what verses of the Quran this man is residing and

[24:36]this man recites this verse and we have revealed to you and

[24:48]to those before you that if you do shirk you lose all

[24:50]of your good deeds he's accusing of doing shirk by reciting a

[24:56]verse in the Quran out of respect for the Quran he goes

[25:00]silent then the man recites the verse again and goes silent out

[25:05]of respect for the Quran and then replies with the verse in

[25:12]the Quran he says be patient the promise of God is the

[25:20]truth and do not those who do not have faith and certainty

[25:26]belittle you look at the freedom which country right now Which democracy

[25:32]or non-democracy would allow someone to interrupt The Head of State in

[25:38]such a way allowed someone to do so and he let the

[25:42]man go rasulullah he gave people the freedom of expression and these

[25:48]are the Real and True representatives of Islam and the representatives of

[25:53]the Quran yes there were individuals that came after rasulullah and after

[26:01]like they did not give people the freedom of expression Imam Hussain

[26:06]was killed because of his expression Imam Hussain was killed because he

[26:11]objected to the ways of yazid my area killed hundreds of the

[26:16]sahaba of rasulullah just because they did not agree with what he

[26:23]is doing they did not agree with what he was saying so

[26:27]we're not going to defend these individuals but yes we will defend

[26:32]rasulullah we will defend the Quran and we will defend now we

[26:37]spoke about the historical aspect regarding freedom of expression and freedom of

[26:42]speech what about the legality what about the laws religious laws right

[26:46]now today do we have total freedom of expression total freedom of

[26:50]speech and just like in any society no there isn't there are

[26:57]yes there are some laws in Islam that are blasphemy laws there

[27:01]are some laws that have to do with the one who Rejects

[27:07]and leaves the religion of Islam and these [Music] the laws of

[27:21]freedom of expression they center around the public good if something is

[27:27]going to be good for all of society then you're allowed to

[27:32]say it if it's going to hurt Society then you are not

[27:35]allowed to say it in public you're not allowed to hurt and

[27:39]abuse everyone in public you want to do something in the privacy

[27:42]of your life you want to do something in your own home

[27:44]do whatever you want in your home but the moment you step

[27:48]outside in the public sphere the moment you come outside and people

[27:52]you're exposed to other people and other people are exposed to you

[27:57]then there's there are different rules that you must abide by the

[28:00]same way a couple years ago during covet we all remember if

[28:04]you're in your home if you have covid you have whatever it

[28:08]is you're at home no one's going to tell you to wear

[28:11]a mask no one's going to come and tell you live your

[28:14]life this way and live your life that way because you're in

[28:16]your own private home but the moment you leave the house the

[28:22]moment you step outside the house now you are risking other people's

[28:25]lives now you're risking the health of other people now you could

[28:30]potentially kill someone you could potentially hurt someone Therefore your rights are

[28:36]limited outside the house and this is what Islam says isn't this

[28:39]Common Sense this is a common sense law that the religion of

[28:44]Islam says so yes there are some blasphemy laws there are certain

[28:48]things that you are not allowed to do in public you do

[28:51]it in the privacy of your home no one knows about it

[28:53]this is between you and God no one has anything to do

[28:57]with it but the moment you come outside then it becomes a

[29:01]public health issue then it becomes a pub social public issue then

[29:04]it needs to be addressed and sometimes it needs to be restricted

[29:09]I talked about this a little bit last night today why are

[29:12]we saying we have to be careful about the books and the

[29:14]schools and what our kids are being subjected to and what our

[29:20]kids are being what are watching publicly and what's out there all

[29:23]all out there and our kids are being subjected to because it's

[29:29]an issue that is going to affect us if you want to

[29:32]be a transgender you want to carry the flag you want to

[29:37]do whatever you want do it in the privacy of your home

[29:39]no one has anything to do with you go do whatever you

[29:42]want but the moment you come outside and now you're risking my

[29:45]life and you're risking the life of my children and my neighbors

[29:49]and my community then it becomes a public Danger these kids you

[29:54]know a seven-year-old or a ten-year-old they don't know they don't know

[30:00]everything they could be easily misled they could be easily fooled you

[30:04]come and they're telling kids right now you have the right to

[30:09]decide your gender you could take your time and decide whatever gender

[30:13]you want take your time no rush and if you want to

[30:16]switch around you want to jump around that's something that's up to

[30:21]you this is something that is hurtful this is something that will

[30:25]hurt society and everyone in society will suffer therefore we say in

[30:28]Islam no no you can't go and do this you want to

[30:32]do it in your private life go ahead and do whatever you

[30:35]want now there are some laws some people they come and they

[30:38]say Islam is a very extreme religion because Islam has blasphemy laws

[30:43]meaning if someone does if someone does kufur someone leaves the religion

[30:48]of Islam then the ruling is that this person is killed yes

[30:52]this law does exist however there are heavy conditions and restrictions for

[30:58]the application of this law this law cannot be applied in any

[31:04]circumstance any scenario someone comes and questions God questions their faith right

[31:08]away you come and you call this person mortad you're confident right

[31:11]away kill this person the same way Isis and Taliban and Al-Qaeda

[31:13]were doing no that's not how it works there are conditions there

[31:19]are qualifications for these laws to apply first of all before we

[31:23]go far all the fingers are pointed to Islam and Muslims go

[31:26]and look at the Bible go and look at other books in

[31:30]fact if you compare go and Google words of violence in the

[31:34]Bible verses violence in the Quran you will see that the previous

[31:41]scriptures have much more violence words of violence than the Quran but

[31:47]today all the fingers are pointed at Islam because it's all politicized

[31:51]all the fingers and misconceptions and accusations are in Islam and Muslims

[31:58]second my dear brothers and sisters these laws of blasphemy these laws

[32:04]of earthdad these are not to be practiced in any scenario in

[32:09]any circumstance and a beautiful Hadith from rasulullah he says that the

[32:15]laws of apostasy and blasphemy they cannot be implemented in any scenario

[32:20]he says try to push away the hadud the penal code try

[32:29]to push it away and remove it from the Muslims as much

[32:34]as you can foreign look for any excuse whatever they come and

[32:48]they say I didn't do this okay you go try to look

[32:52]for them an excuse and then he says he says because the

[33:02]Imam making a mistake and fought and wrongfully letting someone go free

[33:08]this is much better than wrongfully killing someone or hurting someone or

[33:13]punishing someone foreign it's okay if you just close your eyes and

[33:24]make the mistake of giving let someone go for free don't be

[33:29]so harsh with people don't be so difficult with people this is

[33:34]one another very important point is that the the person who's committing

[33:40]blasphemy this person must not have any Shobha in their mind if

[33:46]someone has some misconception today there are many of our kids today

[33:51]there are many people I know they come and they question say

[33:53]you tell me about God I don't know I don't have that

[33:56]conviction I don't have that strong Iman is this person a cafe

[34:00]for asking this question of course not I tell them this is

[34:06]very healthy that you're asking this question because the fact that you're

[34:10]going through this process in your mind you're trying to establish and

[34:15]convince yourself and reach conviction that God exists otherwise no one is

[34:20]born you're just born and right away you believe and you have

[34:22]a hundred percent conviction it's not like that you have to build

[34:26]the Iman and in order to build that Iman sometimes you have

[34:29]to ask difficult questions sometimes you have to ask uncomfortable questions but

[34:33]today there are some parents if their kids are asking them about

[34:36]God they say you're not allowed to talk about this this is

[34:38]go for this blasphemy why how are they going to reach that

[34:44]level of Iman if you're not even going to give them the

[34:45]chance to speak this is why if anyone has Shobha if anyone

[34:50]has any questions in their mind and they're doing kufford they're doing

[34:53]blasphemy this is this is the the law does not even apply

[34:57]here for them the law does not apply for them because they

[34:59]don't know the reality and believe me my dear brothers and sisters

[35:04]99 of people that commit blasphemy it's because they don't know the

[35:09]truth 99 people 99 of people who come and say I don't

[35:15]believe in God and this and that the reason goes back to

[35:17]some kind of misconception in their mind a few years ago you

[35:24]all remember Terry Jordan Terry Jones right Terry Jones he came in

[35:27]front of the Islamic Center of America and he wanted to burn

[35:32]the Quran that night he had a interview here one of the

[35:36]local channels in Detroit he had an interview and the interviewer asked

[35:40]him have you read the Quran you want to burn the Quran

[35:45]have you read the Quran have you recited the Quran he said

[35:48]no I haven't and this is the reality of it most people

[35:52]that hate Islam they have some type of hatred towards rasulullah or

[35:57]the Quran it's because they don't know anything and my dear brothers

[36:00]and sisters it's up to us to inform them but we're not

[36:02]informing them either because we don't know either and that's the biggest

[36:05]problem so here these are some of the laws regarding blasphemy otherwise

[36:14]these laws are not to be implemented at all times and then

[36:19]another con condition and requirement for these laws to be applied is

[36:24]that it has to be a fair Society a just Society where

[36:28]all the laws of Islam are equally being established and practiced now

[36:35]is having some some limits to freedom of expression is that a

[36:40]good thing or a bad thing in some cases it's a good

[36:45]thing right now in America can you go and threaten your neighbor

[36:48]can you go and um falsely lie and say something threatening someone

[36:55]or commit a hate crime no you can't no one allows that

[37:01]no one wants that freedom of expression and freedom of speech it's

[37:04]supposed to be for the betterment of society not to bring us

[37:07]down you have freedom of speech so now I'm going to go

[37:11]and give out threats here and there no no one allows that

[37:13]there should be some some sort of limit some some sort of

[37:18]line on freedom of speech and freedom of expression and this is

[37:22]what Islam says Islam says you're free you could say whatever you

[37:25]want as long as you're not hurting anyone as long as you're

[37:30]not causing a moral decline in society and ethical decline in society

[37:33]then you're free to express yourself this is what Islam says but

[37:36]today you see the fingers are pointed to Islam and Muslims and

[37:43]Muslims are accused of being undemocratic you can't coexist with Muslims they're

[37:46]intolerant and all of these things but let's hold on a moment

[37:52]come and look at those who are pointing the fingers look at

[37:56]them right now there's something called Shadow Banning and social media social

[38:05]media censorship try going and writing something about Palestinians being oppressed by

[38:10]the Israelis if you have an account on social media that has

[38:14]tens of thousands of followers thousands of followers you say something that

[38:21]does not go in line with mainstream media right away they'll shut

[38:26]it down right away the algorithm automatic they don't have someone sitting

[38:30]there and you know bringing it down they've made the algorithm in

[38:33]a way where if your speech and your expression is not in

[38:39]line with that of mainstream Media or it is criticizing certain sacred

[38:44]things in this community and in this Society right away it will

[38:48]be shut down believe me and go and do research about this

[38:53]there have been articles written about this there have been many influential

[38:58]Muslim Scholars influential uh individuals political activists when Israel is attacking Palestine

[39:03]they come and they write about that right away their account that

[39:06]used to get 10 000 views 20 000 views suddenly it gets

[39:12]1 000 views it's Shadow bound this is a reality another example

[39:18]of limits to freedom of speech look it's always the Muslims are

[39:23]being accused of limiting freedom of speech and no tolerance and no

[39:28]coexistence another example as a few weeks ago the Michigan house the

[39:32]Michigan house passed the bill that could make using the wrong pronoun

[39:37]for a person a felony that is findable of up to ten

[39:44]thousand dollars this was passed a few weeks ago so say for

[39:48]example a guy goes and says I'm a girl now and I

[39:53]want to go with the her she her pronoun and if you

[39:56]go by mistake or you go and you call this person hey

[39:58]mister because he looks like a mister he sounds like a bear

[40:02]and you come and you tell him hey mister then you could

[40:06]get find up to ten thousand dollars this is isn't this limits

[40:13]to freedom of expression isn't this limits to freedom of speech where

[40:17]you don't even have the right to say hey mister look at

[40:22]the double standards so you see another example and many of us

[40:29]know about this right now Europe they're always talking about hey we

[40:32]have freedom of speech we have freedom of expression but a Muslim

[40:35]lady is not allowed to wear a bikini we have all this

[40:41]freedom right now in 16 European countries in Canada in Australia if

[40:45]you question the Holocaust I'm not saying to do so I'm just

[40:51]talking about stating a fact of a of a of a double

[40:53]standard if you question the Holocaust in these 16 countries Canada and

[40:58]Australia you could be fined or you could be thrown in jail

[41:03]just by questioning the Holocaust and then they want to come and

[41:08]burn our Quran every time they want to flex their muscles and

[41:10]say we have freedom of speech we have freedom of expression and

[41:15]recently a few days ago we all saw the Quran was burned

[41:20]once again my dear brothers and sisters burning the Quran is not

[41:24]going to take the Quran away from us the Quran was memorized

[41:28]in the hearts of the Menin Allah dared the Jinn and the

[41:34]humans and everyone go and try to bring something that resembles the

[41:40]Quran and they were not able to then Allah says go and

[41:43]bring something that resembles one Surah of the Quran one chapter of

[41:46]the Quran there's 114 chapters of the Quran try to make something

[41:49]that resembles it no one was able to the Quran is the

[41:55]Miracle of Islam and it is the words of God but when

[41:57]you are when you have a country that claims to be Democratic

[42:03]and freedom loving and we are tolerant to other people we're going

[42:06]to be tolerant with people however they dress but we're going to

[42:09]come and burn the Quran of the Muslims we're going to allow

[42:13]that is that tolerance is that freedom is that how you show

[42:19]your freedom of expression by allowing something that is sacred to 1.8

[42:24]billion Muslims by allowing it to be desecrated and burned when the

[42:30]Quran is burned it's not just a book that's going to offend

[42:34]the Muslims and it has something to do with Muslims you're burning

[42:38]the teachings you're burning the teachings of all the religions you're burning

[42:44]the values and the principles and the teachings of Jesus and Moses

[42:49]and Abraham and all of the prophets right now we Muslims we

[42:53]love and we Revere Jesus why because the Christians told us about

[43:01]him of course not because the Quran told us because the most

[43:05]authentic chain that tells us that the Quran that Jesus was born

[43:10]through a miracle birth is the Quran otherwise the chains of narration

[43:15]that tell us that Jesus was born in such and such a

[43:19]way was lost in transition if you count it through the rabbis

[43:24]and the Christians but the Quran because we know that the Quran

[43:27]is a miracle therefore we take what the Quran tells us so

[43:31]when you're burning the Quran you're in fact burning the principles of

[43:37]Jesus and Moses and Abraham and Noah and they're all in one

[43:41]line they're all the same my dear brothers and sisters another final

[43:46]reason why the Quran is being attacked it's because of the weakness

[43:52]of the Muslims today does someone dare talk about certain groups and

[43:58]this Society no there are certain groups that no one dares speak

[44:05]out against them because the moment you speak out against them you're

[44:08]going to be canceled you're going to be labeled that's it but

[44:12]let's criticize Muslims criticize the Quran and it's okay you have the

[44:16]freedom of expression and you have the freedom of choice this is

[44:21]a sign of our weakness and to strengthen ourselves to strengthen our

[44:26]Unity we attend the majalis of Imam Imam Al Hussain is the

[44:31]voice of the oppressed Imam Hussain teaches us to speak truth to

[44:35]power the same way he spoke truth to power until he was

[44:40]killed the same way zainab stood in the courts of yazid and

[45:12]which defends human rights and human values and ethics Imam and Hussain

[45:24]and go against human rights and human values this is the whole

[45:28]mission of Imam al-hussein my dear brothers and sisters tonight we remember

[45:35]Muslim Muslim was the cousin of Imam al-hasana and Imam Hussain when

[45:44]he was in Mecca the thousands of letters from the people of

[45:48]kufa were coming to Imam and Hussain telling him to join them

[45:52]and rise and be there for them so Imam Hussain he wanted

[45:55]to see is there a reality in this movement so he sends

[46:01]Muslim he manages to enter into kufa because the governor of kufa

[46:08]at that time was weak and Bashir he wasn't that strong of

[46:12]a character Muslim was able to enter and there was a rise

[46:17]in a Shia a movement there was a rise in a movement

[46:21]of followers of Imam and Hussein and 18 000 people gave to

[46:27]Muslim one day eighteen thousand people gave allegiance to Muslim that once

[46:33]Imam Hussain comes he is our leader come everything everything seems okay

[46:44]eighteen thousand people gave me Allegiance yazid he saw that what had

[46:52]happened in kufa and he was losing control of kufa so he

[46:56]sends Muhammad his sons to discreetly enter into covers his face and

[47:10]he enters into kufa and he goes into the palace there once

[47:14]he's in the palace he's in the headquarters he started Distributing money

[47:18]he started slowly snatching this person arresting this person getting this person

[47:24]here and there giving money here using the carrot and the stick

[47:27]and slowly those supporters of Muslim they started to become less and

[47:35]less and less he was staying in the home of one of

[47:41]his companions by the name of haniban Arrested now Muslim has nowhere

[47:47]to go he's not from kufa he's a visitor he was he

[47:50]was staying in the home of now has been arrested he prays

[47:57]he comes out all alone no one is with him yesterday eighteen

[48:02]thousand today you're all alone and this is the reality of this

[48:06]life there's a day where we will all stand all alone sometimes

[48:10]you have friends here and there be careful who your real friends

[48:13]are be careful who are those who will really stand with you

[48:18]in the thick and the thin some people they're Hypocrites some people

[48:23]they'll come and they'll show you that they're with you but they

[48:27]might leave you and this is what the people of kufa did

[48:29]to Imam Al Hussain and to Muslim of course many of the

[48:35]real shias were arrested many of the real loyal followers they were

[48:42]persecuted however remained all alone and he begins to walk in the

[48:46]alleys of kufa all alone he has nowhere to go he sees

[48:51]a lady standing in front of her home and he stands next

[48:56]to her she tells him who are you and what do you

[49:00]want she tells them what do you want he tells her I

[49:02]want some water she brings him some water and then she sees

[49:09]him he's still standing there she tells him what are you doing

[49:12]you're a man you're a stranger why are you standing in front

[49:17]of my home he tells her and a Muslim I'm alone I

[49:19]have no one here I am the the ambassador of Imam Al

[49:24]Hussain I was sent here the people have all betrayed me she

[49:30]tells them you're Muslim come in welcome and she brings him in

[49:34]and Muslim he stays those couple hours at night in her house

[49:38]he spends the night praying and worshiping by morning time her son

[49:46]had gone and told the authorities her son went and told the

[49:51]authorities and Fajr time the house of that lady has been surrounded

[49:54]by soldiers a full Army has surrounded Muslim he comes out and

[50:03]they try to arrest him he takes out his sword and he

[50:08]begins to fight them courageously he begins to remind them of The

[50:13]Bravery of one group fight he knocks them away another group they're

[50:17]sent and they keep sending more men and foot soldiers standing but

[50:24]slowly he's getting injured and injured until one of the men he

[50:29]hides behind a wall and he stabs Muslim in his back and

[50:36]Muslim falls to the ground another man strikes him on his mouth

[50:40]and his lips begin to bleed then they gather around Muslim and

[50:47]they tie him in the robes then they begin to take Muslim

[50:51]to the Palace of obedience they take him to the Palace they

[51:01]tell him why don't you say salaam to the Emir he doesn't

[51:07]say salaam he tells them my master my mawlers are saying I

[51:15]don't have a Amir other than Imam he says whether he says

[51:23]salaam or not he's a dead man he tells them to take

[51:25]him to the roof of the palace and there kill him they

[51:34]dragged Muslim on top of the palace he asked them for some

[51:45]water they brought him some water he placed the water near his

[51:49]mouth but because his lips were bleeding his blood fell into the

[51:54]water and Muslim did not drink from that water because the water

[52:01]has been contaminated and become nudges so they bring him another cup

[52:06]of water and once again it becomes bloody with his blood Muslim

[52:10]he says I don't want to drink water subhanallah Imam Hussain and

[52:17]all of his companions including Muslim were killed thirsty he praised I

[52:24]asked them to pray as they tell him go ahead and do

[52:31]whatever you want you're a dead man he praised his two like

[52:34]our prayers then he faces towards the direction of hijaz towards the

[52:39]direction of the side where Imam Hussain is coming from and he

[52:45]begins to cry they tell him oh Muslim why are you crying

[52:51]you fought so bravely and courageously he tells them I don't cry

[52:55]for myself I cry for Hussain and the children they are on

[53:03]their way to kufa not knowing that I have been betrayed he

[53:08]faces and he says go back don't come here they have all

[53:24]betrayed me they decapitate the head of Muslim and they throw the

[53:34]body of Muslims down the palace then they tie the robes to

[53:39]the feet of Muslims and they begin to drag them in the

[53:43]streets of so far foreign [Music] begins to cry the daughter of

[55:07]Muslim Muslim had a young daughter and I'm hussain's her uncle Hamida

[55:12]the daughter of Muslim she comes he sits her in his lap

[55:18]he begins to wipe his head on his hand on her head

[55:24]she sends Hussain is treating her the same way he treats the

[55:27]orphans she tells him I see your same way you treat the

[55:40]orphan ah Allah my dear brothers and sisters before we conclude with

[55:56]the I have a very important message I wanted to share with

[56:00]you all as you know we've been in this building for one

[56:05]year now last year Muharram was the first year that we took

[56:11]the keys and we had taken the keys just two three weeks

[56:13]before maharram and we have we had the Muharram program here and

[56:19]we commemorated the Muharram program and we announced that we are going

[56:23]to be having a Sunday school we announced that we're going to

[56:26]be having programs and alhamdulillah since last year the size of the

[56:31]community here and the needs of the community here have grown and

[56:35]as you have all noticed and seen we have outgrown this place

[56:41]we were holding the Sunday School in this building and in the

[56:44]prayer room we had three classes here with partitions and two in

[56:50]the prayer room and because we ran out of space we ended

[56:53]up renting the building next door we ended up renting office space

[56:57]and we converted it into classrooms inshallah next year register your kids

[57:01]in the Sunday School there's going to be much greater space and

[57:06]a more comfortable space we ended up renting this room next door

[57:09]as an office because we took down the office from here so

[57:12]we are trying to make this place as comfortable as possible but

[57:17]the size of the community no matter how many walls you take

[57:21]down the size of the community requires a bigger place the brothers

[57:26]and the sisters in the community they said let's look for a

[57:29]church we started looking for a church we didn't find anything there's

[57:34]no churches in this area so then they said let's look for

[57:37]a piece of land and we will build it how we want

[57:41]we will put a gymnasium in it we will put Library we

[57:44]will put a study space for the kids we will focus on

[57:48]the youth and we will make a community center not just a

[57:52]Masjid not just a Masjid we are looking to make a community

[57:56]center and a place that meets the needs of every person no

[58:00]matter what age you are The Young and the old but a

[58:06]specific focus on the young specific focus on the youth or most

[58:08]of our programs are circled around the youth and another very important

[58:14]feature is that there's a diversity in this community the main language

[58:19]is the English language but we have people from all all Muslims

[58:23]whoever you are you are welcome to come here if you're Arab

[58:26]you're non-arab you're from Pakistan you're from Iran you're from Afghanistan Iraq

[58:30]wherever you may be everyone is welcome and the programs are meant

[58:36]to be in that way so a couple weeks ago or uh

[58:39]two months ago we found this piece of land on Ridge Road

[58:44]and Ford Road this land costs nine hundred and sixty thousand dollars

[58:48]and alhamdulillah to this date we've raised close to five hundred and

[58:53]seventy thousand dollars we signed we said we're going to have Reliance

[58:57]on Allah and we signed and we need the help of the

[59:03]community you see these highlighted names here the names of Allah the

[59:06]highlighted names each one represents five thousand dollars there are some people

[59:11]they took for themselves for their wife for the wife for herself

[59:14]for the children for every member and their family and while some

[59:19]people they took one some people cannot afford five thousand the surahs

[59:23]of the Quran they are at three thousand if we are able

[59:28]to get contributions that complete all of the names of God and

[59:31]all of the surahs and the Quran then we will have reached

[59:33]our goal and we are very close we are at 570 we

[59:37]need to reach 960.

[59:41]so my dear brothers and sisters we need to see a show

[59:44]of hands of individuals that are willing to support and the brothers

[59:51]are going to bring the papers brother Hassan please come forward and

[59:56]they're going to bring the papers so that we can insha Allah

[59:59]achieve our goal how many people who is the first person that

[60:04]inshallah would like to raise their hand and show their support and

[60:11]you could give a donation of five or more the the more

[60:14]the the better and inshallah we will be able to achieve our

[60:17]goal if anyone wants to be the first please raise your hand

[60:23]okay for the soul of his daughter who passed away several days

[60:32]ago I ask you all to recite Surah foreign okay thank you

[60:47]very much the faster we do this the faster we will finish

[60:52]we don't want to take too much time okay one hand over

[60:57]there anyone else these are the Knights of the commemoration of Imam

[61:15]and Hussein Hussein gave everything that he had for the sake of

[61:19]the religion of Islam giving a little bit for the sake of

[61:23]the faith giving a little bit for our values for our children

[61:26]it's not going to be hurtful please brothers and sisters if you

[61:29]can raise your hand if you cannot give five you could give

[61:33]three you could give one thousand you could give however however much

[61:36]you like just raise your hands and take this um these papers

[61:41]so that insha Allah we will be able to continue nah okay

[61:52]okay one over there please okay we will conclude with the Dua

[61:57]inshallah and we ask you all to please talk to your friends

[62:01]to talk to your relatives talk to family members I know many

[62:04]people in this community have already donated and we are asking for

[62:08]others those who have not participated to participate this is an opportunity

[62:14]this is something that will happen whether we are a part of

[62:18]it or not it's going to happen if we don't do it

[62:21]a generation after us will come and do this and this is

[62:24]something that will surely happen so please talk to whoever you can

[62:32]and insha Allah may Allah bless you Allah is who's going first
