The meaning of the Supplication of Arafah is truly heart-touching and there are many lessons to be learnt through this Supplication. As the Day of Arafah is only 6 months from now, we should start to read the translation of this beautiful Dua to help us prepare to know what we are going to supplicate to Allah SWT on that special day. The first lesson from this Supplication is we should always praise Allah SWT for His bounties He has bestowed upon us and we must be pleased and remain thankful to Him always. Secondly, a Muslim should always be aware of Allah's magnificent attributes, particularly His Oneness as he or she must know that God is completely Independent and there is no similarity between Him and His creatures. Finally, we must resist and fight against the oppressors in order to deliver the oppressed people from bad conditions and provide them with a better life.
The supplicatory prayer of Imam al-Husayn (A), the Chief of Martyrs, on the `Arafat Day is one of the famous prayers. Bishr and Bashir, the sons of Ghalib al-Asadi, narrated that they, once,
accompanied Imam al-Husayn (A) at the `Arafat Night when he left his tent with submission and reverence. He walked slowly until he, accompanied by a group of his household, sons, and servants, stopped at the left side of Mount `Arafat and turned his face towards the Holy Ka`bah. He then raised his hands (for supplication) to the level of his face, just like a poor man begging food, and recited the Dua Arafah - (http://www.duas.org/ppt/Dua_3r....d_Imam_Arafa_Day_Ara

Laylatul Qadr, the Night of Power (The program list of the A'maal is listed below)
Eve of Destiny (Laylatul Qadr) is the night, which is the most blessed and excellent of all nights. A prayer during this night is superior to the prayer of a thousand months. The destiny for the year is decided on this night. The Angels and Roohul Ameen (a highly dignified Angel) descend on this earth, with the permission of Allah (SWT) & call on the Imam of the time, and what is ordained (by Allah) for everybody is presented before the Imam (May Allah SWT hasten his reappearance). (duas.org)
It is reported in Hadith that whoever keeps awake on the nights of Qadr shall have his/her sins forgiven, even if they equal the number of the stars in the heaven.

Dua Kumayl - Brother Murtada Qurish with English Subtitles
New Video with a bigger text format.
Kumayl Ibn Ziyad was a prominent companion of Ameer al Mo'mineen, Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib (as.) and this sublime Dua was first heard from the beautiful, though anguished, voice of Imam Ali.
According to Allama Majlisi, Kumayl had attended an assembly in the Mosque at Basra which was addressed by Imam Ali in which the night of the 15th of Shaban was mentioned. Imam Ali said- "Whosoever keeps awake in devoutness on this night (15th Shaban) and recites the Dua of Prophet Khizr, undoubtedly that person's supplication will be responded to and granted."
When the assembly at the Mosque had dispersed, Kumayl called at the house where Imam Ali was staying, and requested him to inform him of Prophet Khizr's Dua. Imam Ali asked Kumayl to sit down, record and memorise the Dua which Imam Ali dictated to Kumayl.
Imam Ali then advised Kumayl to recite this Dua on the eve of (i.e. evening preceding) every Friday, or once a month or at least once in every year so that, added Imam Ali,
"Allah may protect you from the evils of the enemies and the plots contrived by impostors. O' Kumayl! in consideration of your companionship and understanding, I grant you this honour of entrusting this Dua to you."

The supplication of Arafah by Imam al-Hussain (A.S) is the most important Shi'a supplication that is recited on the Day of 'Arafah. This supplication contains some of the highest theological and spiritual teachings
It was first recited by Imam al-Hussain (A.S) along his companions on the Day of 'Arafah, in the desert of 'Arafat out of their tents. Bishr and Bashir, two sons of Ghalib al-Asadi, have narrated that: during the last hours of 'Arafah, we were with Imam al-Hussain (A.S). Among a group of his family members, relatives and his Shi'a, the Imam (A.S) came out of the tent, and with the utmost humility and obeisance, he stood on the left side of the mountain, turned his face toward the direction of Ka'bah, raised his hands toward the sky in front of his face and started this supplication. Dua Makarimul Akhlaq (The Honorable Morals) - in English and Urdu translation - in larger text.
This supplication has been taught by our fourth Imam, Imam Zainul Abideen (A.S) and is a clear indication of the loftiness of moral virtues expected of a believer. Islam believes in the elevation of the human being, that a human is a great and dignified creation, far above the animal world. One of the signs of this dignity is the possession of noble and magnanimous qualities.
In order to achieve this behavioural excellence, man needs to overcome his base and selfish attributes, and cultivate noble qualities. In this Dua, the Imam specifies these qualities, and shows how we can try to inculcate (implant) them in ourselves. Taken as a lesson in Akhlaq, the Dua is a wonderful program for those who wish to excel in good manners. (source: al-islam.org)
Would highly recommend my dear brothers and sisters to read a book: 'In the Presence of the Beloved', by Agha Misbah Yazdi - for it contains commentaries on the three beautiful supplications: Dua Iftitah, Dua Abu Hamzah Thumali and as well as Dua Makarimul Akhlaq.

In some Islamic countries like: Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan this supplication is recited in groups. Sometimes, especially during Hajj period and in the desert of 'Arafat, thousands of people recite this supplication together.
The supplication of 'Arafah by Imam al-Hussain (A.S) comprises of different teachings, some of the most important main topics include:
1. Knowing God and counting divine attributes, reestablishing the covenant with God. Knowing the Prophets and renewing the spiritual relation with them. Remembering the Day of Judgment and expressing the beliefs in heart.
2. Reflecting on and remembering limitless bounties given by God to human beings and thanking and praising God for them.
3. Expressing humility and confessing to the sins, making repentance and return from them, asking for forgiveness and a move toward acquiring praised virtues and good deeds.
4. Making different requests which starts by sending salutation to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his pure progeny (A.S) and then asking for forgiveness, the light of guidance, mercy, blessings, abundant sustenance, reward in hereafter.
