One of the most important things we need to do during the period of Ghaibah (occultation) is to make our best effort to become the best people we can be. We cannot be receptive to the Imam (AS) if our hearts are not pure. We should, at the very least, do our best to stay away from committing sins. If our hearts are not sincere, we will not be worthy of our Imam’s (AS) service, nor will he accept it from us if we are filled with sins and unable to receive his teachings.

Supplicating to Allah SWT with the help of the Ahlulbayt (AS)
explained by Sheikh Shabbar Mehdi with English subtitles

In this excerpt of the lecture, Sheikh briefly highlights the significance of relying on the supplications and invocations of the Ahlulbayt (AS) to help us get spiritually closer to Allah SWT. As we are in the holy month of Ramadhan, a month of Dua' and supplications, our Imams (peace be upon them all) have given the great gifts to us in which we should not take it for granted.

Imam Ali's (AS) Saheefa al-Alawiyya, Imam Zain al-Abideen's (AS) Saheefa Sajjadiyya, the Mifatih al-Jinan that contains the marvellous supplications from our beloved Imams (AS) are all valuable gifts in which the Imams (AS) have taught us the best ways to communicate to Allah SWT.

Surely, without these supplications taught to us by our Imams (AS), we would not know how to address our Lord and what words to say to Almighty Allah SWT.

الحمد لله رب العالمين وصلى الله على محمد وآله الطاهرين الأخيار الأتقياء الأبرار الذين أذهب الله عنهم الرجس وطهرهم تطهيرا

on the Friday 6th of March 2020

Shaykh Tusi says, in his book Misbah, that Imam Hassan bin Ali Al Askari (A.S) wrote this supplication for Abu Muhammad who requested him to teach him the proper way of reciting Salawat. Allama Majlisi has mentioned this Dua on the authority of Ibn Babawayh who confidently says that, there is no difficulty or problem that this Dua does not solve.

The Merciful Allah is beseeched in the name of and for the sake of the Holy Prophet and his Ahlul-Bayt (peace be upon them all) who are amongst the best human beings in status with Allah SWT. It is also known as "quick-fulfillment-of-all-legitimate-desires" supplication.

Part 1 - The Importance and Merits of Dua - Habib Mukhtarali with Urdu commentary

In order for man to come close to Allah SWT, to gain spiritual peace of mind, to attain ethical values, to stay away from sins, to cleanse mental disturbances, to avoid Satan’s temptations, to strengthen his intelligence and cognitive powers, and to satisfy his physical and mental needs, he needs to worship God. For this very reason, the major part of the Prophet’s educational programs in general and the Prophet of Islam’s program in particular consists of teaching people to carry out prayers and supplication.

Our Holy Prophet (SAW) and our Imams (AS) have described supplication as the believer’s weapon, the pillar of the religion, the light of the skies and the earth and most importantly, it is the most beloved deed towards Allah SWT.

ـ الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): أحَبُّ الأعمالِ إلى اللّه‏ِ عزّوجلّ فِي الأرضِ الدُّعاءُ.

Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘The most beloved action on this earth with Allah - Mighty and Exalted - is supplication.’ [al-Kafi, v. 2, p. 467, no. 8]

Hence our Imams have established various supplications that are found in Sahifa Alawiya (from Imam Ali A.S), Sahifa Sajjadiyya (of Imam Zainul Abideen A.S) and Sahifa Mahdawiyah (of Imam Mahdi A.S). Our Imams (A.S) have taught us the fundamental steps and words on how to supplicate and beseech to Allah SWT.

Imam Ali bin Abi Talib's (A.S) birth in the Holy Kaaba is unique, for this is the only known occasion on which a child was born within the precincts of the Holy place ever since its foundation thousands of years ago.

When the lovers of Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (A.S) go for Hajj, they always remember his birth in the Holy Kaaba and whilst making the Tawaaf (the Ritual Circling of the Holy Kaaba), they feel proud and happy that Imam Ali bin Abi Talib's (A.S) name is linked with the House of God, and at every circuit they look towards the wall which had split in two to allow Imam Ali bin Abi Talib's (as) mother to enter the Sacred Premises. This particular place is known as 'MUSTAJAR', and here a special ritual is highly recommended.

The entire body with the cheek and the stomach are to be brought into full contact with the wall and in this position; the worshipper with palms open should seek forgiveness and ask Allah (SWT) for his righteous desires and for the removal of difficulties. The following supplication should be recited: "Ya Allah! This House is your House and this person is your slave and this place (Mustajar) is that place from where forgiveness of sins and safety from the fire of Hell are obtained."

The Whispered Prayers, is a collection of 15 intimate conversations with Allah SWT and the 15 Whispered Prayers are extracted from the book of Imam Zainul Abideen A.S - known as Sahifa Sajjadiya, also known famously as the Psalms of Islam.

Munajaat means "talking" or "having a conversation". In this case, it is the intimate conversations of our Imam with his Lord. Conversing with God regularly is true spirituality, and these conversations between Imam Sajjad (as) and God will really open our eyes. Again, there are conversations for different spiritual
states, such as being fearful, hopeful and thankful. Conversing with Allah according to our current spiritual state will only serve to enhance our relationship with him. (al-islam.org)

Dua Iftitah recited by Hajj Mohammed Taleb in English translation.

Dua Iftitah was taught by Imam Mahdi (AJTFS) to recite every night during the month Ramadhan. Supplication of Al-Iftitah is generally recited during each night of the month of Ramadan. The article written by Sheikh Mohammed Ali Shomali is to explain some of its main themes such as: praising of Allah, salutations to the prophet and his household, and special salutations to Imam Mahdi (AJTFS).

It is explained from duas.org that the supplication can be divided into two parts:

Bibi Fatima (S.A), our Role Model for a Successful Marriage explained by Sheikh Nuru Mohammed (with English Subtitles)

In the full lecture of Sheikh Nuru Mohammed, he highlighted the three main roles of Bibi Fatima (S.A) as:

1 - 'Daughter' of our beloved Prophet Muhammed (SAWW)
2 - 'Wife' of Imam Ali (A.S) and
3 - a 'Mother' to Imam Hasan, Imam Hussain, Bibi Zainab and to Bibi Umme Kulsum (peace and blessings be upon them all).

Whispered Prayer of Imam Ali for the Holy Month of Sha'ban

The keynote of this Whispered Prayer is the love of Allah, the awareness of his all-pervading presence and a burning desire to achieve the goal of severance from all else and attachment to him.

It is very recommended to recite it during the month of Sha'ban, but it can also be read at any other time of the year. The words and meaning are extremely profound and beautiful. Spend time, reflect and ponder through this holy whispered prayer. Whisper and speak to Allah SWT through the words in this supplication, in order to gain closeness to Him.
