[0:07][Music] in insan [Music] dear brothers and sisters please illuminate your hearts
[0:55]and Minds in this majus with a loud muhammedi Muhammad ever since
[1:11]covid came and transformed the world in 2020 you found that there
[1:17]have been many unintended consequences and changes in our cultures and in
[1:24]a collective experience for example you find that Notions surrounding work family
[1:35]and time have radically changed ever since covid more people than ever
[1:43]are quitting right you hear always there's a labor shortage there's a
[1:47]labor shortage well one reason is that ever since covid people began
[1:51]to reassess their priorities in life why is it that I'm working
[1:59]what's it my goal what am I trying to achieve in working
[2:02]you find many people they were so obsessed with work they forgot
[2:07]the other priorities they had in life therefore after covid many people
[2:10]started spending for example more time with their families many people began
[2:18]to choose working from whom options why so that they could spend
[2:21]more time with their family with their loved ones especially if you
[2:24]have young children you want to be around them that life is
[2:27]not all work work work ever since the start of covid people
[2:33]began to reassess their relationship with their time all of a sudden
[2:39]people had so much time and they didn't know what to do
[2:44]so you found a plethora of options came up you find certain
[2:47]people after covid you know they used to be really skinny really
[2:49]scrawny after Co mallah they've been hitting the gym they've been working
[2:54]on their bodies you find some people they've changed their diet and
[3:01]their lifestyle some people began to take up Hobbies whether that's reading
[3:05]knitting bird watching was really popular during covid right You' buy some
[3:09]binoculars and watch the birds and wildlife in your yard as a
[3:15]form of entertainment as a form of hobby to pass time some
[3:18]people began to learn new skills right that would help them in
[3:21]their career Co redefined our relationship with our time people began to
[3:30]to see that time shouldn't just be for entertainment and for work
[3:35]we have other priorities in our life and Co really switch for
[3:39]many people well am I really spending as much time as I
[3:45]want on the priorities that I have my family my Lord my
[3:49]friends my hobbies so inshallah tonight we will be discussing this issue
[3:55]after a loud muhammedi muhamad in the United States in Michigan March
[4:09]15th 2020 was the start of the lockdowns now as of today
[4:18]that's 870 days ago I remember as if it was yesterday doesn't
[4:22]feel that long ago but 870 days have passed so we all
[4:28]have to ask ourselves what have we been doing in the meantime
[4:31]what have we invested our time our efforts and our energy in
[4:37]a prominent Sunni scholar narrates a story in which in the city
[4:43]of Medina a merchant who would sell ice you know back in
[4:47]the day no one had fridges or freezers so if you wanted
[4:50]to cool your food if you wanted to have some nice ice
[4:53]coffee what you would have to do is you would have to
[4:57]go to the market there would be a guy with a stand
[5:00]he would go I'm not sure where exactly he would find ice
[5:02]a big block of ice he would come and he would sell
[5:06]it you know you'd ask for a certain amount he'd measure it
[5:08]out sculpt it out and offer it to you so on this
[5:12]particular day maybe it was a week day I'm not sure he
[5:15]wasn't getting as much business as usual so he's standing at noon
[5:21]this the heat of the sun is hitting him and the ice
[5:22]and his ice begins to melt so he begins pleading with everyone
[5:30]that passes by he says look guys my my capital is melting
[5:34]please come and purchase before I go broke now respected brothers and
[5:41]sisters our time is the same our time is like ice whether
[5:47]you utilize it effectively or not it's melting and it's going away
[5:52]and those minutes that pass will never be recovered Allah subhana wa
[5:56]ta'ala has given us every single day 8,600 minutes right and each
[6:05]minute is a blessing how do we use our time do our
[6:10]actions and the way we use our time match our goals and
[6:16]our priorities in Life or do we end up wasting much of
[6:18]our time all this blessing that Allah subhana tala has given us
[6:28]in fact in the verses we just recited subhana swears by time
[6:31]now Allah subhana wa tala the lord of the universe when he
[6:36]swears it's not by something light Allah subhana T swears by time
[6:41]that what Allah swears by time that we humankind are at a
[6:49]loss regardless of what we do in our lives we will all
[6:55]regret our lives at the end you know billions of years used
[6:58]to exist before before me and billions of years after me you'll
[7:03]feel like what did I do that was of any worth of
[7:07]any value regardless of what you do at the end of your
[7:10]life you will have regrets except Allah subh T when he makes
[7:15]an absolute statement and then he follows it with that means this
[7:21]is the only exception to the rule Allah swears by time that
[7:25]we are all at a lost except who except those who believe
[7:39]except those who abide by righteous action and accept those who abide
[7:43]by the principles of Truth and patience and Subhan Allah if you
[7:47]look at these four these are a basic summary of our religion
[7:52]right you find Islam is an orthopro doxic religion we have a
[7:55]set of beliefs that we abide by we have a set of
[7:58]practices that we also abide by and also truth and Patience are
[8:04]at the core and foundations of our religion so unless you abide
[8:08]by these four principles proper belief righteous action patience and Truth Allah
[8:16]subhana wa tala says you are at a loss however many of
[8:18]us unfortunately we don't really take into consideration how valuable our time
[8:23]is and we end up wasting much of our time according to
[8:29]the website statista the average American spends and maybe this includes Canadians
[8:35]as well not too sure around 4 hours a day watching TV
[8:39]now perhaps this statistic leans higher towards the Boomer side you know
[8:44]maybe the younger Generations don't watch as much TV but if you
[8:49]you know include all kinds of media around 4 hours a day
[8:52]watching TV and other related media the same study cites that the
[8:56]average adult spends 3 .5 hours a day on their phone now
[9:03]is it all making important business calls no you're scrolling through WhatsApp
[9:07]right all those groups and all the fake news circulating you're scrolling
[9:11]through Instagram Snapchat is it really anything of value and of productivity
[9:18]the same study also says that a large majority of teens 15
[9:28]and under spend listen to this over 6 hours a day on
[9:30]Tik Tok I'm sure you've all heard of Tik Tok six hours
[9:35]a day on Tik Tok I mean that's insane that's almost a
[9:40]school's Worth right Tik Tok might as well be educating them and
[9:45]dear brothers and sisters Tik Tok especially for our youth is very
[9:50]dangerous and toxic if your child has unrestricted access to the internet
[9:57]to a phone to Tik Tok unfortunately and and I hate to
[9:59]break the news they have been exposed to many dangerous ideas and
[10:04]content you look at Tik Tok for example all the inappropriate material
[10:08]circulating all the inappropriate dances inappropriate language in the music right geared
[10:15]at who who Who's the majority of users on Tik Tok people
[10:22]ages 15 12 and under kids atheism is widely propagated on this
[10:28]app so if we allow our kids to have restricted and unfettered
[10:31]access to this app to Tik Tok What happens right the average
[10:37]parent sees their kids how often a day maybe an hour an
[10:39]hour and a half that versus six hours a day on the
[10:43]University of Tik Tock well unfortunately naturally what's going to happen is
[10:48]that your kid your children your sons your daughters will be indoctrinated
[10:52]in the idea circulating Tik Tok which unfortunately are not the best
[10:56]of quality another big time waster my dear brothers and sisters is
[11:05]music many of us use music as a method to cope with
[11:13]you know our stress our anxiety we have a favor artist that
[11:16]we listen to and we spend hours and hours a day drowning
[11:21]out our sorrows and our anxiety in music now music is its
[11:25]own topic inshallah another day we could discuss but in addition to
[11:28]being a sin to listen especially to that inappropriate music with the
[11:33]inappropriate language explicit content music is a big time waster for many
[11:37]of us another thing many of us struggle with especially those of
[11:44]us who come from the Middle East is what PE be upon
[11:49]Him States as right you have people who gather at night from
[11:56]M till morning what are they doing they're playing cards right or
[12:01]they're smoking the shisha hookah now it's fine to gather with your
[12:04]friends and have fun but sometimes people take it too far four
[12:09]or five hours sitting in this Gathering and what's being discussed so
[12:12]I wish at the discussion was you know something Rel relate to
[12:15]knowledge you know something about a profession something regarding theit what do
[12:19]you he did this he bought this she did this it's all
[12:24]it's all useless talk describes this as and he asked inside the
[12:31]Dua that Allah protects him and the Believers from there is a
[12:36]beautiful Hadith from IM Ali peace be upon him he States unfortunately
[12:42]many of us have bad friends right people we hang out that
[12:46]are not the best in nature you know they may not use
[12:50]the most proper language they're always talking about other people such people
[12:54]hanging out with them sitting with them the Imam describes as evil
[12:58]people who when you sit with them they don't uplift you they
[13:03]don't teach you something you you don't benefit from them you don't
[13:06]feel closer to Allah avoid these people they're just a waste of
[13:09]your time and as the Imam says they're an evil on your
[13:13]soul muhamad a major issue many college students many students many employees
[13:29]find is procrastination now procrastination is something that can really destroy your
[13:34]time and take away all the bar all the blessings and productivity
[13:39]of your time and day there's aith from the that states that
[13:55]on the day of judgment when people gather those who are most
[13:59]regretful causing the most seen pleading with Allah their case is who
[14:05]those who would constantly engage in procrastination you know I'll play later
[14:09]as soon as this NFL game is done I'll pray or I
[14:13]have maybe five six days of Mis Fass you know at the
[14:18]end of the year before next sh Ramadan I'll make that up
[14:20]or if you're a student you know I'm really tired right now
[14:24]tomorrow an hour before the test I'll start to study if you
[14:27]work you know the deadlines in a month I'll get started in
[14:32]29 days many people on the day of judgment who have regrets
[14:35]it's because of their issues with procrastination in this life in fact
[14:39]there's a story during the time of a man from a nearby
[14:52]Village approached the city of Medina so as he approached he sawol
[14:55]Allah and the companions inside the Masjid Allah was teaching them they
[15:00]were exchanging knowledge so he came he was very intrigued he asked
[15:04]teach me about this religion so you know even though he didn't
[15:10]know who he was he was a villager he began to sat
[15:11]down with him he talked to him about about about social justice
[15:17]and this man was highly impressed he said yes oh Muhammad I
[15:21]believe in everything you have to say then started to teach him
[15:27]theam we have prayer we have fast he said yeah that's fine
[15:30]with me soas began to list them until he reached the prohibition
[15:38]of alcohol so once he reached that this man said no no
[15:41]no no you know I'm an addict I drink alcohol more than
[15:45]I drink water so he was like that's too difficult for me
[15:48]he said he was trying look look at the mindset of this
[15:51]guy he was trying to bargain with he said is it okay
[15:54]I'll join your religion I'll give you my money my support but
[15:56]just make an exception for me can you talk to your lord
[15:58]you know let me drink alcohol said it's one package you take
[16:03]it or you leave it he says if you want to follow
[16:09]my Lord he demands complete obedience so this man on the one
[16:12]hand he was fully convinced of everything had taught him but on
[16:16]the other that habit right alcohol you can't leave it you can't
[16:19]just quit so he said look I'll go back to my Village
[16:25]I'll drink as much as I can this year next year here
[16:30]I'll come to Medina I'll move here and I'll declare my shahada
[16:34]but dear brothers and sisters what's the problem as we discussed a
[16:39]few nights ago are you guaranteed that tomorrow morning you're going to
[16:42]wake up so this man went back to his village he drank
[16:48]and drank and drank until he died from alcohol poisoning and he
[16:51]did not have the to and the blessings to come back to
[16:55]Medina and take the shahada Subhan Allah look there are some converts
[16:59]reverts that come to our husse our M and they take so
[17:03]much pride and Allah rewards them so much for taking on this
[17:05]enormous step now this man had the opportunity to declare his shahada
[17:11]in front of the man who brought down the religion and to
[17:17]learn under the toage ofas pray behind rol why did he forgo
[17:21]this opportunity because of his procrastination dear brothers and sisters we have
[17:28]to always remind ourselves that in this life our present self and
[17:32]our future self are always coexisting now in what Sense on any
[17:39]action on any given day you have to decide this action that
[17:45]I'm about to engage in is it for my present self so
[17:47]that I can enjoy the moment or is it for my future
[17:51]self so that I can achieve an accomplishment achieve my goals it's
[17:55]always one at the expense of the other you either sacrifice ice
[18:01]in the now so that you gain in the future or you
[18:04]sacrifice your future so that you can gain now so always make
[18:09]it a priority to think now has to be sacrificed for my
[18:12]future and inshallah with that with practice you'll be able to overcome
[18:17]procrastination muham muham it's very important dear brothers and sisters that we
[18:32]know and understand how to organize our time because when your time
[18:36]is disorganized you will be very ineffective in achieving your goals the
[18:43]first thing I would recommend if you don't already have done so
[18:49]is get a planner get a schedule get an actual planner doesn't
[18:51]matter if the cover is pink or blue go to the grocery
[18:56]store get a planner and start planning out your daily activities from
[19:00]morning from the moment you wake up to the moment you go
[19:03]to sleep you would be surprised to see how much time is
[19:08]wasted in between your appointments after work when you don't plan out
[19:12]your days what happens naturally chaos will envelop and you won't get
[19:16]anything done right you'll see that notification on Instagram and you'll begin
[19:20]to scroll right the never- ending scroll you have to plan out
[19:26]your days even according to the minute a teacher that I highly
[19:31]respect in he's a teacher in the he's a grand scholar in
[19:34]the Seminary he once told us that he plans out his day
[19:39]from the moment he wakes up to the moment he sleeps to
[19:42]such an extent that even his walk from his house to the
[19:47]classroom which is like a 5 to seven minute walk right he
[19:50]lives nearby even during that walk he has an activity planned he's
[19:54]a he's a scholar right he's a jurist so he's like every
[19:59]day that 5 to 7 minutes that I go 5 to 7
[20:02]minutes that I come back I delegate that I will discuss and
[20:04]in my mind think about this particular issue this particular intellectual issue
[20:09]I'll discuss it during that walk when you tally up the minutes
[20:14]like that you'll find that you'll otherwise you would have had hours
[20:18]lost when you add up those seconds and those minutes they add
[20:21]up they add up to hours so have a daily planner and
[20:27]plan out your activities from morning till night another thing I highly
[20:33]recommend to put your life into perspective is Google what a life
[20:38]calendar is now if you're not if you're not familiar with this
[20:41]term just Google life calendar what it is is you plug in
[20:46]how old you are let's say you're 30 what happens is you
[20:52]get a grid with a bunch of boxes hundreds of boxes each
[20:55]box represents a week now now depending on your age let's say
[21:02]you're 30 30 * 52 that many amount of boxes is filled
[21:07]in black and let's say you have a projected age you can
[21:10]enter let's say 70 80 may Allah insh prolong Our Lives 85
[21:14]the life you have ahead of you is empty those boxes are
[21:19]not filled in Black you would be surprised at how much time
[21:21]has passed by I've lived so much of my life so if
[21:25]you're in your 30s or 40s and you're projected life is let's
[21:30]say 70 80 half that grit is full not much is left
[21:34]so when you put into perspective like that that every box is
[21:38]a week you start thinking what am I going to be doing
[21:42]with those boxes am I just going to let the time pass
[21:46]by without me doing anything productive without me working towards my goals
[21:49]and thus get a notebook plan out your five 10 15 20
[21:56]year goals and start working towards them when you plan out your
[22:01]day and your daily planner consciously think what am I doing today
[22:05]what am I going to do tomorrow that will help me achieve
[22:10]my goals whether that be my one-year goals or my long-term 20-year
[22:14]goals muhmad we are also able to learn from the time management
[22:30]and time management skills dear brothers and sisters are not just for
[22:36]for laws andam the have knowledge as much as the oceans so
[22:44]you can find in the Hadith tips on how to organize your
[22:50]time such that you get the most out of your time one
[22:53]Hadith states that the best time for studying whether you're a student
[22:57]you have an exam ahead of you or you're just trying to
[23:04]learn something between and sunrise this is usually an hour an hour
[23:08]and a half in fact it's Mak to sleep during this time
[23:11]so if you wake up for f and you want to study
[23:15]for something you want to memorize something this is the best time
[23:18]to study in another Hadith one of the Imam states that it's
[23:25]Mak to read whether that's a newspaper a book you want to
[23:28]study half hour before that's a time that you should dedicate towards
[23:35]worship for Allah as the Sun is setting and you set up
[23:37]your prayer mat ready to pray M that half hour before dedicate
[23:43]it towards worship from theith We Gather that if you want to
[23:48]visit people you want to visit your family your parents you have
[23:50]friends that you'd like to visit keep your visits during the day
[23:54]don't visit at night now of course it's not Haram to visit
[23:59]at night but it's more recommended to keep your visitations during the
[24:03]day the night is a time for rest it's a time for
[24:09]worship it's a time for reading so keep that night it's a
[24:11]time for reflection right reflecting what you did during the day keep
[24:14]that for yourself and if you want to engage in socialization keep
[24:18]that towards the day one Hadith from IM Al states that every
[24:24]one of us needs to learn the art of Delegation learn how
[24:28]to delegate Tas especially if you run a company you have to
[24:30]learn the skill right you can't do everything by yourself so if
[24:34]you have kids start training them how to write the check how
[24:37]to pay bills how to fix something in the house there if
[24:41]if you look into the subject and you read the Hadith you
[24:45]will find tens of tens of aith on how to manage your
[24:47]time tips the offer on time management but the greatest tip I
[24:56]can offer you today is that when planning your days try to
[25:00]revolve your days around Allah subhana tala how so when you plan
[25:04]your day dear brothers and sisters plan it around prayer whether that's
[25:09]or if you're at work try to get your break whether that's
[25:15]your lunch break or your time off during so that you're able
[25:20]to pray comfortably without a rush during make sure you have no
[25:24]obligations during that time if you want to visit someone if you
[25:26]want to do some extra cicular activ you want to engage him
[25:30]some hobby you want to go fishing keep that either before or
[25:32]after have that time for especially like we mentioned that half hour
[25:38]before for Allah subhana tala and trust me once you start centering
[25:41]your days around prayer you will be noticeably different in your spirituality
[25:47]you will notice your days are unlike the days that preceded muham
[25:56]muhamad now in order to gain the best from our days and
[26:04]from our time there are three key areas of focus that like
[26:09]the Quran said if you want to not be at a loss
[26:12]for your time if you want to be happy and not regretful
[26:14]with what you've done in your life there are three key areas
[26:17]where you need to especially invest your time in and that's knowledge
[26:26]ta and family ask for knowledge the Hadith St your knowledge today
[26:30]should not be like your knowledge yesterday you should always be constantly
[26:36]trying to learn whether that's within your given field if you're a
[26:40]doctor in biology and chemistry if you're an engineer if you're an
[26:44]anthropologist whatever your field is try to learn every single day and
[26:47]of course dedicate some time to learning Islamic Sciences the of reading
[26:53]the Quran if you spend dear brothers and sisters 15 minutes a
[26:58]day 15 minutes is not that much right I'm sure if you
[27:02]plan your day well you can find 15 minutes in your day
[27:04]if you just dedicate 15 minutes of your day to learning something
[27:10]new over a given year how much is that that's over 90
[27:12]hours now 90 hours in any given subject subject practically makes you
[27:17]a semi-expert just spend 15 minutes a day and over the years
[27:22]look at the progress that you will make 50 minutes a day
[27:24]is all that it takes there's a story that really personally inspires
[27:30]me that shows the extent that which you should strive to learn
[27:36]knowledge this is the story of a scholar in the known as
[27:43]now this is a grand scholar in fact he used to be
[27:49]my respected father's teacher this Grand scholar he was born in a
[27:54]small village in Afghanistan his parents were farmers and you know they
[27:58]had very limited means but ever since he was young he always
[28:02]had this passion for learning he always wanted to be a scholar
[28:04]and a scholar in the way of Allah so he had pleaded
[28:08]with his parents to help him in that path but you know
[28:10]given their means and you know at the time this is maybe
[28:16]90 years ago the means were not there but look at his
[28:19]dedication Subhan Allah like we mentioned yesterday if you put your mind
[28:23]to something you are able to do it the only blocks in
[28:30]are mental blocks there were no planes then he couldn't afford a
[28:35]car M at the age of 15 walked all the way from
[28:41]Afghanistan to Iraq dear brothers and sisters do you know how far
[28:45]that is do you know how many mountains he had to pass
[28:49]how many thousands of kilometers of hiking and yet he did it
[28:55]at such a young and tender age he was 15 years old
[28:59]he walked the treacherous valleys and mountains all the way from Afghanistan
[29:01]to Iraq until he arrived in the holy city of Naf now
[29:08]once he arrived he knows nobody there he has no family he
[29:12]has no connections with anyone so he arrives in the city he
[29:16]goes he visits after he leaves he doesn't really know where to
[29:21]go so he starts walking around the city until he finds himself
[29:26]inside wam which by the way dear brother brothers and sisters is
[29:29]the largest cemetery on Earth so he starts walking it starts approaching
[29:34]nighttime now he doesn't know where to go he finds a door
[29:40]leading to a basement inam so given that he has no alternative
[29:43]he goes inside the basement so he's looking there's Graves all around
[29:49]him but you know he finds a place he sets up camp
[29:53]and he starts sleeping he wakes up for f he's very tired
[29:58]he goes he sees a stream of water and you know he's
[30:05]he's still drowsy he's not really fully awake so without thinking that
[30:08]you know what is this water he goes and he starts drinking
[30:10]that water you know wake up in the middle of the night
[30:15]he's thirsty well after he drank that water he woke up a
[30:18]little bit started thinking you know I'm in a cemetery what what
[30:22]is this water there's no streams there's no Rivers so he looks
[30:25]this is the water that they used to wash dead bodies after
[30:31]they wash the dead bodies it ends up draining in that area
[30:36]so he felt so disgusted but at the same time he was
[30:39]heartbroken who does he go to he starts running towards the shrine
[30:46]of IM aliam he goes he holds on to the shrine and
[30:52]he starts crying he says oh IM Ali oh my IM is
[30:53]this the hospitality that you provide is this the kind of host
[30:58]that you are and he begins crying he swears that he hadn't
[31:07]even exited the shrine area yet when he saw someone running towards
[31:09]him he saw someone running towards me he and then he approaches
[31:14]him he says what's your name he gives him his name he
[31:16]says who are you he says I'm a teacher in one of
[31:19]the seminaries here we heard that someone has been walking around and
[31:22]we suspected you may be a student would you like to join
[31:27]and enroll in the Seminary he says yes in fact that's why
[31:29]I came this long journey it I came precisely to become a
[31:34]scholar so he says don't worry we've gotten you a place you
[31:37]now have a stipended and you start your classes tomorrow Subhan Allah
[31:42]minutes mere minutes after complaining to the IM answered his Dua so
[31:54]we should try to make as much an effort in obtaining knowledge
[32:00]and learning for the Hadith says number two is TA we have
[32:07]to work on our piety and tawa our relationship with Allah subhah
[32:12]wa taala if you improve your your concentration and your dedication in
[32:15]prayer even 05% every single day I mean that's not much right
[32:22]we're always distracted you know as we're praying the Kebab is getting
[32:25]you know cooked in the kitchen and we get raed but if
[32:30]you try to improve your concentration your at least 5% every single
[32:34]day over time that compounds to a huge amount make an effort
[32:37]even if it's small even if it's those baby steps to improve
[32:44]your and prayer now one Technique One tip that I often give
[32:48]if you find it difficult to focus in your prayer is every
[32:54]single day try to find one one benefit one blessing that Allah
[32:57]subh hased blessed you with and dedicate today's prayers towards that if
[33:01]your parents are still alive you have a good relationship with them
[33:06]and they pray for you dedicate today's prayers for that if you
[33:09]have a good job a stable occupation dedicate today's prayers for this
[33:15]this will help you immensely in focusing and concentrating inside your prayers
[33:22]try to read as much Quran as you can we have one
[33:27]Hadith that's IM peace be upon him would complet a full cycle
[33:30]of the Quran a full every 3 days that's 10 full Cycles
[33:36]every single month unfortunately many of us the Quran is just a
[33:40]beautiful decorative cover right inside our libraries inside our homes just to
[33:43]collect dust open the Quran even if it's a page a day
[33:48]try to increase your relationship with Allah right Allah could have sent
[33:51]us you know seven book volume like Harry Potter but Allah's words
[33:54]is just one book 600 pages make an effort to read even
[33:59]a single line a single Ayah a day and if you don't
[34:03]speak Arabic that's fine you don't have to speak Arabic you could
[34:05]even read the English version of the Quran now obviously it won't
[34:08]have the same eloquence and effect as the Arabic but that still
[34:11]helps and I personally recommend if you're starting off with reading the
[34:15]Quran read the study Quran by the author S Hussein and Co
[34:20]this is a great introduction to the Quran it also has some
[34:22]exegesis some T of the Quran so that if you don't understand
[34:27]the verses that you're reading they explain some of the verses one
[34:31]thing you should try to do to increase your your patience is
[34:36]I want everyone today to make a vow dear brothers and sisters
[34:40]today make a vow that the next time somebody annoys you somebody
[34:43]bothers you whether it's your spouse whether it's your parents whether it's
[34:48]your kids whether it's a friend Shah not me the next time
[34:55]somebody bothers you try to be patient with them is that too
[34:58]difficult is that asking for too much just one time the next
[35:01]time somebody bothers you be patient with them be forbearing and then
[35:05]after that try to make it a habit to be patient with
[35:09]people for patience is one of the most beloved and desired traits
[35:17]of Allah IM Ali peace be upon him his narrator have said
[35:20]I have so much patience that even patience is wary of my
[35:23]patience allahar this is our IM this is our leader now of
[35:28]course we cannot reach IM Ali we can't reach the level that
[35:30]he obtained however we can aspire to be like him even if
[35:35]that's a fraction of what he is so the next time someone
[35:37]bothers you whether it's here on your way home tomorrow just make
[35:41]an effort to be patient with them be to be patient with
[35:44]that individual the third is like we discussed yesterday try to engage
[35:50]in as many acts of Charity that you are able to especially
[35:53]if you have a long-term vision for charity some people you know
[35:57]from the day that they're young they decide when I grow older
[36:01]I want to build an orphanage I want to build a hospital
[36:02]I want to do this I want to build Aus I'd like
[36:06]to develop or help build a Masjid yes overnight it's difficult to
[36:10]accomplish much however if you plan long term you'd be surprised you
[36:16]would be bewildered at what the human being is capable of and
[36:19]I'll give two examples one is in Spain a man by the
[36:26]name of justo galago this man is a Catholic he's a man
[36:29]from a very poor rural Village he's not educated he was a
[36:32]laborer his entire life however the last 40 Years of his life
[36:38]40 the last 40 Years of his life he by himself wanted
[36:44]to dedicate something to God and so he started the construction of
[36:49]a cathedral if you go Google his name there's various videos about
[36:54]him it's an amazing Cathedral that he by him himself constructed he
[36:58]learned how to do plumbing he learned how to do El he
[37:01]learned how to do all the stuff to develop a building in
[37:05]the name of God and it's a truly magnificent you can Google
[37:08]it juo galago in Spain it took him 40 years but yet
[37:13]this is his legacy and he was asked he asked his family
[37:16]members to bury him inside this Cathedral another example if you ever
[37:21]visit Turkey isul you can go visit a Masjid the Masjid is
[37:28]called well the Arabic translation that translates to the Masjid is called
[37:37]mzid as if I ate now what does that mean this man
[37:43]he was a very you know average person with an average job
[37:50]300 years ago he decided one day I want when I die
[37:52]I want to lease something for Allah subhana tala why he came
[37:58]one day with a bag of fruits some pomegranates he set them
[38:02]on the table he had a quick work something you know very
[38:05]quick he had to do so he told his family you know
[38:08]engage in eating these fruits have some fun but leave one for
[38:12]me when I come back I'll eat it when he came back
[38:14]he saw that you know the pomegranates I guess were so good
[38:18]his family had eat all the pomegranates they hadn't even left in
[38:20]one so he said if my family during my life they don't
[38:25]leave me anything what about the afterlife when I die what going
[38:28]to be left for me so he said I want to dedicate
[38:30]something for Allah subhana tala so every time he would go to
[38:36]the store whenever he wanted to purchase something whether it's a banana
[38:40]a piece of fruit some sweets you know that very delicious Turkish
[38:42]delight whenever he wanted to purchase something he would take the money
[38:46]out of his pocket let's say it cost $2 he would say
[38:49]it's as if I ate this and then he would take the
[38:53]money put it in the other pocket and then put it in
[38:57]a safe place right because whatever you ate yesterday doesn't matter today
[39:02]what happened yesterday is yesterday so he gathered the funds throughout his
[39:06]life by the end of his life with that with it's not
[39:08]even much he didn't do any fundraisers he didn't go begging people
[39:10]just the money of whatever he wanted to eat you know the
[39:14]additional things he set it aside for a Masjid and he built
[39:16]this message 300 years ago and it still stands today and everyone
[39:22]who goes and prays part of the and and rewards goes back
[39:25]to this man subh look at what a legacy lastly my dear
[39:48]brothers and sisters we need to invest much of our time in
[39:52]our family in our family relations in fact if there's anything we
[39:56]are to invest our time in wouldn't be our own family members
[40:01]especially our children they're our own flesh and blood dear brothers and
[40:05]sisters you'd be surprised how many families especially fathers Unfortunately they barely
[40:11]spend 20 minutes of quality time with their kids now why is
[40:15]that the Hadith from Prophet Jesus peace be upon Him States what
[40:18]have you gained if you have the entire world but you lost
[40:26]your kids you may gain all the riches and all the worldly
[40:28]gains of this world but if you lose your kids you don't
[40:32]have a proper good relationship with your children what's the point is
[40:38]there any point to life in fact Studies have shown that the
[40:42]biggest correlative with happiness is how good your social relations are especially
[40:47]your familial ties and especially with your kids right who is closer
[40:51]to you than your children unfortunately many parents they live in one
[40:55]universe and their kids live in another Universe especially with this online
[41:00]social media age it's very difficult to raise your your children you
[41:05]have to put additional effort whatever back home you you know percentage
[41:08]of effort you you put in you have to double that here
[41:12]many kids go through all kinds of struggles whether that's mental health
[41:16]struggles struggles with school struggles with peer pressure bullying and many parents
[41:20]are just completely oblivious so make it a habit force yourself if
[41:26]you have to spend at least an hour of quality time now
[41:31]quality time means your phone you put it away you turn off
[41:34]the TV you look eye to eye with your children and you
[41:38]give them that quality time that they need many children are starved
[41:42]of affection and attention so give them that attention that they crave
[41:46]even if it's just an hour think of it like this as
[41:51]we mentioned earlier if kids are exposed to six hours of Tik
[41:54]toac a day try to at least match that if you can't
[41:59]offer six try to at least match that with one hour of
[42:01]quality time with your children and mothers especially right The Honorable role
[42:08]of a mother is to make sure that your kids are raised
[42:12]properly if you look at any individual person and you see them
[42:17]to be very polite very faithful a strong believer of theit know
[42:21]that definitely their mother raised them well and tonight my dear brothers
[42:27]and sisters we remember a mother of four a mother who gave
[42:32]everything she had for the sake of Allah and towards the mission
[42:36]of IM Hussein and that's our lady peace be upon her gave
[42:46]everything she had IM peace be upon her after the martyrdom of
[42:52]his wife s FAA he married he went went to his brother
[42:58]who was a genealogist right he knew everybody in the city he
[43:01]knew all the anab the ancestries of everybody what did he ask
[43:08]his brother he says I want you to marry me find me
[43:14]someone a lady who is a lioness now asks well why IM
[43:22]Ali says so that he may help my children on the day
[43:29]of what was IM Ali referring to so that she may bring
[43:32]children who help his son AB abdah on the day of as
[43:41]now this lady she had four children four beloved children and the
[43:48]moon of her eyes was abas can you imagine having such incredible
[43:56]are inspiring children and having to sacrifice them for the way of
[44:03]Allah after IM told one of his companions by the name of
[44:13]bash he told him go back to Medina and inform the inhabitants
[44:16]of Medina of what had happened during carala so he runs to
[44:25]Medina he stands on the outskirts of the city he starts crying
[44:31]and then the people they start coming they ask bash what's going
[44:36]on he says I will give you the news by the grave
[44:44]of rol so bash heads he stands by the grave of rasool
[44:48]the people the inhabitants of Medina they start to gather they start
[44:52]asking him why have you gathered why have you called everyone bash
[44:57]with tears coming down his cheeks he looks at the inhabitants of
[45:03]Medina and he says oh people of Medina your joy your Security
[45:14]will be taken away after today the people started asking why what
[45:24]happened [Music] [Music] he says Hussein the grandson the of has been
[45:41]killed and therefore I cry and all of a sudden from the
[45:46]by the grave of you hear the cries of the inhabitants of
[45:49]Medina that their beloved IM abdah Hussein has passed away has been
[45:54]martyred as they are crying bash notices a lady a respectable lady
[46:01]begins to approach him he asks people who is this lady they
[46:04]tell him this is the wife of this is now she comes
[46:11]what does she asked she look at the belief look at the
[46:17]IM the strength this lady has and that we ought to emulate
[46:20]she comes and tells tell about my son Hussein it's as if
[46:29]she was in shock she couldn't fully understand what she had just
[46:33]said and this is despite her having four children and yet her
[46:39]attention her thoughts are with Hussein she calls him my son Hussein
[46:43]now he didn't want to break the news again to her it
[46:48]was too difficult so what does he tell her my condolences to
[46:57]you on the passing of your son jaur she says bash I
[47:01]didn't ask you about ja I asked you about my son Hussein
[47:04]he doesn't want to break the loster he tells [Music] her my
[47:15]condolences to you on the passing of your son she tells him
[47:21]Bash that's not what I asked for tell me about my son
[47:23]Hussein he looks at her and he tells her she begin to
[47:36]cry she says bash you've ripped my heart into pieces don't tell
[47:41]me about my sons tell me about my son Hussein he tells
[47:49][Music] her m is on your son Hussein she begins to cry
[48:00]and she she cries [Music] out [Music] [Music] Hab
