[27:35]us for the without the program this evening abbas sheikh who is
[27:40]very well known to us here at wessex remarks he completed after
[27:43]completing his hosa studies to the level of dereza came to the
[27:48]uk as a resident scholar for the jamaat in birmingham where he
[27:53]served for four years and then served for another four years at
[27:59]the al-zahra foundation of nottingham since he has been appointed as the
[28:01]internal manager for the household of england he is also the program
[28:07]leader for the va hosa studies program at the islamic college of
[28:11]london he teaches extensively in at the college and at hosa furthermore
[28:16]he is an active figure in missionary activities to introduce the school
[28:22]of african debates globally for more than two decades he has translated
[28:27]many texts and the most important of all is theological instructions of
[28:34]eidolon which is used as a textbook or theology in the hosa
[28:38]of boom he was awarded an m.a in theology from the university
[28:41]of birmingham and is currently working on his doctrinal studies with mysticism
[28:45]it is our honor and pleasure to have him once again in
[28:47]western tonight for us this evening can i ask all the more
[28:52]we need to welcome him with the loudest of your solo words
[28:54]mohammed oh hello [Applause] [Music] i'm alone foreign [Music] foreign to the
[30:36]imam of our time from our side and also to all of
[30:40]you my dear brothers and sisters all present here may allah as
[30:45]beautifully recited by mohammed abbas that we become a true slave of
[30:52]zainab the era that we live in is or the time that
[31:02]we live in it's very clear that the time is constricting meaning
[31:08]that it just looks like the time has gone fast so quickly
[31:13]you know it's just time is so short everything is so short
[31:17]even the young people the older people even senior members they said
[31:21]15 20 years ago it wasn't like this but now everything is
[31:25]moving fast this is one of the alliance signs of those who
[31:27]before and the other thing is the land as well is becoming
[31:32]very tight it's very short people traveling from one place to another
[31:36]so quickly apart from traveling from one place to the other quickly
[31:41]the land also becomes as if there is no place to go
[31:46]not because of the population as such because of all this fitna
[31:52]and corruption and things like that you know for example how people
[31:58]tend to forward things and they talk about this person did that
[32:03]that person did that if i'm that person i feel like you
[32:05]know i have no place to go you know everybody knows me
[32:08]i cannot hide myself you know after i've done something wrong or
[32:12]something you know so even the land becoming very small and short
[32:17]there's no place to go meaning that okay traveling quickly population as
[32:21]well and at the same time from a you know what you've
[32:26]got mental point of view as well you know so therefore as
[32:31]we live in a time where the land is becoming constricted the
[32:36]time is also becoming constricted if an intellectual person prepare himself for
[32:46]the return of the 12th imam and one of the things that
[32:51]is required for the 12th imam is that he has [Music] he
[32:57]has excelled in terms of his intellectual capacity in terms of his
[33:01]understanding so that when imam zawana comes and speak and say something
[33:06]he has he has some sort of clarity to understand what imam
[33:10]zaman is saying like for example if i'm in grade five you
[33:18]know class five you know when i was talking about you know
[33:22]university level you know i'm not understanding what i will be very
[33:28]far from him what benefit i would have it requires that i
[33:32]should improve my intellectual capacity my knowledge my understanding of things so
[33:40]that he calls me as a helper [Music] right i become his
[33:46]companion and he designates me he gives me what to do and
[33:48]what not to do right so what i'm trying to the gist
[33:53]of the story in the nutshell what i'm trying to say is
[33:55]that we have to improve our intellectual capacity our knowledge and our
[34:03]understanding in order for being a true supporter of the truth now
[34:08]you know by keeping this in mind through certain um ugly and
[34:16]ugly which means through certain intellectual and also traditional methodologies or understanding
[34:24]we know that we could stop time and also expand the space
[34:30]how is that when we spend time in a masjid time stops
[34:37]and the massive becomes so expanded that it reaches near allah so
[34:44]participation improve these are the benefits of i mean this is the
[34:52]place we're gonna go to our final place this is the final
[34:55]stop of ours you know to this somewhere here right this is
[35:02]the place they're gonna bring us wash us and take so if
[35:07]we do not make an effort to come to this place to
[35:13]be familiar with this place love to go have to come to
[35:17]this place right then how our journey will be easy they say
[35:22]that when a person is having difficulty in the the soul leaving
[35:28]the body as a time of sakarat they say take him to
[35:32]the place where he used to pray at home that place his

[35:37]connect to allah through that place he connected allah so now is
[35:41]the time that he's connecting to allah because he's leaving the dunya
[35:44]so take him to the place where he used to pray so
[35:47]that way he will connect to allah so if i am not
[35:51]praying if i am lazy for prayers if i don't have a
[35:55]specific place as this you in their house they will have a
[36:05]special corner a place a room where they use supreme they will
[36:08]keep that place clean you know islamic books or how even in
[36:11]our you know in in india in pakistan tradition we call it
[36:16]you know where the island is there clean place now that's it's
[36:21]always been there it's part and parcel of our our culture and
[36:26]our values that we have that place and the prophet did it
[36:30]as you have visited the house of imam ali in najaf you
[36:34]may see okay this is the main this is the place so
[36:38]if i am lazy for that makhan for going to that then
[36:41]obviously it will be more difficult for me so the same way
[36:46]this is the makhan this is the place this is the center
[36:49]these are the days that with all our preoccupation that we have
[36:53]we somehow force ourselves to come here and we you know have
[37:01]the attendance you know we present ourselves here this is very important
[37:05]and we bring our children here right why because in the limited
[37:11]period of time because time is very short now but they're very
[37:15]short in the sense of that journey very short in the sense
[37:20]of such for example right so even in the sense of that
[37:24]journey as the fourth imam says that you know so little i
[37:29]have and such a long journey so little i happen in that
[37:33]things that i need to take from here is so little but
[37:37]i have such a long journey that i have to travel so
[37:42]the opportunities to ahrefs alone that are provided much less and the
[37:51]community facilitate a place where we all gather right and then while
[38:02]being here we make that journey of ours very swiftly and quickly
[38:07]just like how as the prophet was taken from us it was
[38:13]a long journey but because of that because of that zaman no
[38:18]mirage is a zamani time right has a value like father so
[38:23]the same way you know when we come to this makhan which
[38:26]is the manga in this zaman which is the birthday so that
[38:34]journey of ours that understanding that intellectual understanding expands this is a
[38:41]very spiritual and mystical phenomena takes place our heart expands things are
[38:47]we are inspired by things and these things that we may not
[38:53]even know come to our aid and help when we face problems
[38:56]and difficulties right so it's it's it's an opportunity for us and
[39:04]as a matter of fact i mean if we calculate ourselves how
[39:08]much of time am i really spending to make my dunya you
[39:14]know eight hour shift family work this although there is also i'm
[39:18]not saying that you know it's all about that you know my
[39:22]work is also that bother that i'm doing but however in in
[39:26]relationship to what i'm doing right now that i come to the
[39:32]masjid i'm sitting down you know here trying to listen to the
[39:37]speech it's the bilateral hazard zainab we're going to talk about zainab
[39:40]this is specific and only this although i'm at work eight hours
[39:46]at that time i thought oh i have time for namaz i
[39:48]go pray you know and i doing service to humanity it's all
[39:52]what are allah no doubt but this our attendance here is a
[39:59]different type of attendance compared to my attendance at work right so
[40:03]therefore the amount of time that we spend for to make our
[40:10]dunya you know life is a lot practically speaking pragmatically speaking compared
[40:17]to the eternal life still be alone but the look at the
[40:23]irony of this look at the unique aspect of this that even
[40:26]this little time that we spent it provides us a a launch
[40:34]of eternal good and what we achieve is unimaginable like for example
[40:42]you know imam radha alaysalam says that if a person while just
[40:46]making huzu if he recites surah it's nothing he's making he recites
[40:53]after he finishes it will be as if he's a new one
[40:58]i mean it's just little bit of time but such a impact
[41:04]where why because they have managed to travel that journey that eternal
[41:24]journey right and download and understood that reality and provided that in
[41:29]a simple way for us to perform so that we can achieve
[41:35]that okay now as we celebrate the birth of azad zainab now
[41:44]we know that she was born when prophet was still alive the
[41:49]name of us at zainab was given by the prophet himself where
[41:54]he says that i know i consulted and from allah this name
[42:00]came so it's quite fascinating that not only yes the panchatan is
[42:08]special but as it is name from allah prophet is still alive
[42:14]is also points out to her great you know station the caliber
[42:17]of her you know she's a very powerful and great lady and
[42:22]in a similar way when imam hussain was born how prophet cried
[42:28]and as and this is also very you know fascinating thing and

[43:06]same as the same as imam saying as a zainab also have

[47:23]the quran that they become teachers of the quran allowing that yes
[47:32]and there is no power there is no like formality there you

[47:40]are asking me and she is my daughter so i feel bad
[47:43]you know this may show that she doesn't know anything so you
[47:46]know i will allow you know for example to go and teach
[47:49]you know like if somebody comes and asks me oh maulana can
[47:53]your daughter teach in sunday school i said oh my god now
[47:56]what will happen they will think that you know i have not
[47:58]trained my daughter to teach in sunday school i have not taught
[48:00]that islam that's why but i will say okay fine she will
[48:04]go and teach and when she goes and the famous sentence of
[48:23]imam zayn so this is from others in regards to her that
[48:27]you are a teacher you are a knowledgeable one without being taught
[48:33]from imam very famous that you are on that level now why
[48:39]is she on that level which we'll discuss a little bit later
[48:42]you know to understand what a long subject is saying i'm gonna
[48:45]talk about that but i'm just highlighting out here you know as
[48:49]a title as an one i mean in this way in regards
[48:53]to her this way in regards to her imam hussain you know
[49:00]when it comes to ibadah on the day of ashura zainab don't
[49:05]forget me in your night prayers tonight what time we bothered to
[49:13]do usually the case is that when a person feels the other
[49:16]person to be of higher status they go please please mama my
[49:23]mommy my daddy you know moving into each other you know please
[49:27]you do do up for me you know you have mankind in
[49:29]front of allah [Music] [Music] night prayers was fascinating now sometimes you
[50:16]have people who are uh who are spiritual in the ibadat sense
[50:21]like for example we may have may allah bless all our grandmas
[50:28]who passed away and bring them close to hazard salam salaam alaihi
[50:33]inshallah parental and maternal grandmas if they are not in dunya they
[50:37]are very pious you know always praying whenever you see them you
[50:42]know then they are moving well when your words for example you
[50:47]may not be able to have an intellectual conversation with them you
[50:52]know maybe somewhere you may they may have but majority of them
[50:57]you may they may not have but still when it comes to
[51:01]them very amazing very great right even when it comes to maybe
[51:08]their dreams and they see things that they talk about oh amazing
[51:12]but when it comes to that intellectual discussion you want to talk
[51:17]about you know allah you know uh family to their to their
[51:54]beauty to their you know they're very famous everybody you know know
[51:58]how and the tasks that they had the caretakers of makkah they're
[52:05]welcoming you know there was a bani hashem family who used to
[52:07]welcome the guests because they had that etiquette of welcoming the guests
[52:12]you know for example the other tribes they used to do other
[52:16]stuff right but bani hashim are responsible for taking care of the
[52:20]guest right so among the bani hashem she is known as the
[52:28]akile now one may say it could be because she is a
[52:32]woman and this she's a woman and amongst the bani hashim there
[52:40]were very few women who knew knowledge had knowledge that's why she
[52:43]is the most knowledgeable one as they say or something saying that
[52:50]if there are the people who are blind you know if there'll
[52:54]be a person who's just blind with one eye between because others
[52:58]are blind but at least he has eye he's the most powerful
[53:01]but that is also a limitation right that he does not have
[53:06]a problem right it's a missile you know they say right however
[53:09]so maybe is it like that that because you know that's why
[53:15]she's not saying with the end it comes with which indicates the
[53:21]feminine the feminine gender but actually this is not of femininity like
[53:27]father when you write you have there so one will say that

[54:38]time and intellect and act because women how women were treated at
[54:43]the time of the prophet particularly when it comes to knowledge and
[54:48]sciences education amongst the arabs themselves education was very low very few
[54:56]people you know were educated at the time of our day right
[54:59]they may have eloquency others but in terms of education in terms
[55:02]of intellectual capacity the intellectual values he was solo that's why they
[55:08]had 365 idols so among them the arabs and then among the
[55:14]arabs women how they were deprived but after all of that now
[55:24]the importance of apple intellect is overwhelming in islam and particularly when
[55:32]it comes and that is the vehicle that is the medium by
[55:39]which one could reach allah one could come closer to allah through

[56:41]what i mean by that then there is a rational intellect there
[56:46]is experimental intellect as and there is mystical iranian intellect these are
[56:53]the different four levels of apple what is the difference between experimental
[57:01]intellect and philosophical intellect the water boils at 100 degrees yes it
[57:07]boils 100 degrees for the past since we had that measuring temperature
[57:13]you know bar since that time water bile 700 degrees no matter
[57:18]we are in portsmouth or we are in sri lanka boils at
[57:21]100 degrees but is there a possibility that the water may not
[57:26]boil at 100 degree for example you know change in the atmosphere
[57:31]or maybe you go to some very cold place or maybe you
[57:33]go to some other planet for example the water may boil at
[57:36]a different not at 100 degrees but at 50 degrees or 90
[57:39]degrees or 120 degrees is it possible or not it's not impossible

[62:17]this type of art and intellect is for very peculiar and special
[62:23]people and this is the entering into the levels and stations of
[62:34]nabu and higher than that what do i mean by higher than
[62:36]that is the imam because ibrahim was nami and then in india

[63:04]we are talking about you are a scholar without being taught philosophy

[64:31]you're not saying that he's the imam but in order to protect
[64:39]like for example it's the 16 uh the sixth imam announced in
[64:43]his wasia that the imam after me is you know four different
[64:48]one was you know as well but at the same time he
[64:51]announced you know it is i believe my wife my governor of
[64:57]medina the khalifa and in order to protect so from the aim
[65:06]of reliance and the position she was on that level of comprehension
[65:12]of that reliant that's why imam said transferred that that's the internet

[65:29]that level of my effort and understanding now as i said i

[66:17]this vaccine why this and you guys are going to be an
[66:18]antivirus for example you know it's absurd because i don't have that
[66:22]knowledge the same way doctors in terms of the philosophy oh is
[66:27]causation and what are you talking about you know you come and
[66:32]you guys are wasting time this is there you may not see
[66:34]it but it's a reality i'm trying to present to you so
[66:37]the same way when these philosophers intellectuals orientalists doctors professors they come
[66:47]and criticize the quran you are not on that level to criticize
[66:50]it oh my doesn't exist for example because it's not in the
[66:56]quran like you have no understanding what are you talking about if
[67:01]you say that i will give you allah is isn't it is
[67:06]it possible mathematically something that is first to be last as well
[67:11]it's not impossible you are the first one who came to mind
[67:13]to the mosque this room i said no you are the first
[67:16]one and you are the last one as well that's not possible
[67:18]after you so many people came and you are not the last
[67:20]you are the first but allah is first allies last so quran
[67:23]is contradictory i'm using my rational african contradicting the quran i have
[67:29]no right to do that because i don't understand what means what

[67:47]or is this what quran is talking about it should be taken
[67:49]out it shouldn't be there or some of the aspects of the
[67:51]sharia i don't have that intellectual strength to do that because there
[67:57]are different levels of this whole that i should understand i haven't
[68:02]even reached that level of value which is beyond all forms and

[68:16]this apple that i have in order to understand that what is
[68:21]what does first mean what does last mean what type of firstness
[68:26]is this what type of lastness is this you know while he
[68:29]was fighting a person comes and he says this allah is one
[68:34]in allah is one what does it mean we are fighting arrows
[68:37]are coming you're talking a philosophical question here you know i said
