[0:00]The board of peace is a group of individuals who have been

[0:08]selected by Donald Trump personally.

[0:10]They are all arch zionists, supporters of Israel and they take orders

[0:15]from Donald Trump.

[0:16]But the United States basically runs the United Nations too.

[0:18]So what's the difference?

[0:19]And it was designed that way.

[0:20]It was designed that way from the beginning.

[0:22]They decided from the beginning that nothing could happen without the great

[0:28]powers agreeing to what would be done in the world.

[0:32]So they institutionalized it in the United Nations.

[0:34]What the board of so-called board of peace does is to personalize

[0:41]it in the person of Donald Trump so that he runs absolutely

[0:44]everything in the world.

[0:45]I think Donald Trump is fooling himself too if he thinks this

[0:49]is going to work.

[0:49]Alam alaikum and welcome to another episode on TMJ's political current podcast.

[0:54]Just last week, President Trump unveiled the so-called Board of Peace, a

[0:59]new body that he says will oversee directly the next phase of

[1:04]his Gaza peace plan.

[1:05]But interestingly, the charter of this board of peace A makes absolutely

[1:09]no mention of Palestinians, b concentrates power in the hands of none

[1:14]other than Trump himself, and c seems to be going far past

[1:19]just Gaza with many saying it's branding itself as a new United

[1:23]Nations.

[1:24]But as Palestinians continue to get killed in Gaza, Trump and his

[1:29]executive board of peace members are fantasizing about the new real estate

[1:33]heaven they're trying to build called Gaza Riviera.

[1:37]Something many critics are saying is just that, a fantasy.

[1:39]So, I'm joined today by Paul Laru, an American human rights activist

[1:43]and co-founder of both the Free Palestine and Free Gaza Movement, who's

[1:47]going to help me break down what exactly this board of peace

[1:51]is and why he thinks Trump and all the new countries that

[1:54]have endorsed this new plan are actually just fooling themselves.

[2:07]Paul, thank you so much for joining us on TMJ News.

[2:11]Again, I apologize for my voice recovering from a cold, but I

[2:15]hope you can bear with me.

[2:15]Um, but thank you so much for coming on.

[2:17]It's wonderful to have you.

[2:18]>> It's a pleasure to be with you.

[2:19]>> The latest that we know is that Trump was joined by

[2:23]a small number of world leaders just a few days ago as

[2:28]he signed the charter of his board of peace.

[2:31]Um, the a new body that he is personally chairing.

[2:32]Can you just walk us briefly what exactly is this board of

[2:37]peace and what significance does it even hold right now?

[2:39]>> The board of peace is uh a group of individuals, old

[2:48]men as far as I know um who have uh been selected

[2:55]by Donald Trump personally to to be on this ward.

[3:00]and they are all arch zionists, supporters of Israel.

[3:05]Uh, and they take orders from Donald Trump.

[3:09]It's basically Trump is running it and he makes all the decisions.

[3:13]And as far as, [clears throat] let's say, competing with the United

[3:19]Nations, what is the United Nations anyway?

[3:26]It was created after World War II with five permanent members, all

[3:30]of whom had a veto power.

[3:32]And three of them currently are so powerless uh that they simply

[3:38]take orders from the United States.

[3:41]Uh sorry, two of them.

[3:47]Um and um uh and China and uh Russia are the only

[3:54]let's say rivals if you will to the United States.

[3:55]But the United States basically runs the United Nations too.

[3:59]So what's the difference?

[3:59]And it was designed that way.

[4:01]It was designed that way from the beginning because frankly they they

[4:06]decided from the beginning that nothing could happen without the great powers

[4:11]agreeing to what would be done in the world.

[4:14]So they institutionalize it in the United Nations.

[4:19]What the uh board of so-called board of peace does is to

[4:24]personalize it in the person of Donald Trump so that he runs

[4:31]absolutely everything in the world.

[4:33]That's that's basic principle behind all of this.

[4:35]Whether it will actually work or not is another question.

[4:39]And I and lots of people have serious doubts about its viability.

[4:44]>> And and that makes me brings me to the next question

[4:48]is this board of peace, you know, plan.

[4:50]Um another aspect to what has been part of Trump's, you know,

[4:54]20point plan starting from the first phase was this idea of the

[5:01]authority for Gaza being run by this national committee for the administration

[5:05]of Gaza and CAG.

[5:05]Who exactly are these people?

[5:07]Because one natural question that arises and many are concerned about is

[5:12]after all of this killing and after all of this quite literally

[5:15]annihilating people from their homeland, what is there, you know, left right

[5:19]now?

[5:19]Because many are now seeing this next phase really as Trump's bringing

[5:22]true his his real estate dreams for for Gaza, the Gaza Riviera

[5:26]and whatnot.

[5:27]But where do the Palestinians fit in this conversation?

[5:30]>> Oh, the the Palestinians hardly fit at all.

[5:34]Um the um the [clears throat] administration of Gaza will is done

[5:44]with Palestinians, but these Palestinians are um and actually they're they're all

[5:51]uh originally from Gaza, but that's that's the extent of it.

[5:55]They don't represent uh very many of the people in Gaza.

[6:03]They are um largely corrupt and um and they take their orders

[6:06]from if anyone if any Palestinian that would be Mahmud Abbas but

[6:11]frankly where does Mahmud Abbas take his orders from?

[6:16]It takes it from Tel Aviv uh and from Washington.

[6:21]That's so um really this is not a way of bringing peace

[6:31]and I but on the other hand Netanyahu and his government don't

[6:35]really like the plan very much because it supposedly it subjugates the

[6:39]Palestinians to a degree that they have never been subjugated in the

[6:43]past which is saying a lot but it uh it doesn't rid

[6:50]the territory It doesn't rid Gaza of of Palestinians, which is what

[6:55]Netanyahu and his cronies want.

[6:56]And so he's not entirely happy about it.

[7:01]He and and his cabinet believe that this plan will fail.

[7:08]And he's probably right.

[7:09]But they're expecting that it will fail and the result will be

[7:12]that they will be able to complete their uh genocide and ethnic

[7:20]cleansing of Gaza and make it a Zionist paradise.

[7:24]And you know speaking of challenges, one of the big kind of

[7:29]barriers that is also being discussed that is is going to be

[7:31]as you mentioned very difficult to implement this you know phase two

[7:37]which involves this board of peace plan is you know Hamas and

[7:39]the the topic of disarmament which is something that is you know

[7:43]mentioned in there this idea that there will only be one authority

[7:45]that will you know control all weapons and you know that that

[7:50]will definitely not be Hamas based on what they would like but

[7:52]we also know that it's very unlikely that Hamas, which many Palestinians

[7:58]living in Palestine recognize as legitimate, is going to actually give into

[8:04]giving up all of his weapons um and accept the lack of

[8:08]the creation of an independent Palestinian state?

[8:10]Um so how how do you foresee specifically Hamas's role within this

[8:16]working out?

[8:17]>> Well, I don't see the whole plan working out at all,

[8:21]at least not in the near term.

[8:23]Ultimately, I think um uh the Palestinians and the resistance and Hamas

[8:29]as part of the resistance will triumph and and and but how

[8:35]soon I don't know.

[8:35]Maybe a year from now, maybe two or three years from now,

[8:40]I don't know.

[8:39]uh as for the [cough] the present for the present time um

[8:47]what Hamas has proposed very let's say astutely is that Hamas will

[8:52]give up its arms to a national government a Palestinian national government

[8:59]and um and in that case they will have a say in

[9:05]what that government looks like and the Palestinian people will determine what

[9:09]that government looks like.

[9:12]Well, that government could be just Hamas with a different name.

[9:16]So, um they're not they're not giving up they're not dissolving themselves.

[9:22]They are incorporating themselves into the the proposed government of uh and

[9:32]uh uh and Palestine.

[9:35]And this is only as it should be because the Palestinian people

[9:39]are the ones who should decide uh um who who runs Palestine.

[9:45]So but the way they present it uh at the peace talks

[9:51]is um is a very intelligent way of making it uh look

[9:59]reasonable and palatable and it is reasonable after all.

[10:01]I think it's also important to recognize the role of you know

[10:07]certain Arab states that are also joining it.

[10:09]We know Saudi Arabia for example has said that the group of

[10:12]Muslim majority countries I know I think there's Saudi Arabia there was

[10:16]like Turkey, Egypt, Jordan a number of other countries they said based

[10:20]on what you know Saudi has said that they have endorsed this

[10:25]whole plan under the aim of consolidating some form of permanent ceasefire

[10:28]in Gaza which we know has is continuously being violated by the

[10:31]way but also what they are saying is supporting this idea of

[10:34]reconstruction and advancing what they're describing as you know lasting peace.

[10:38]what is what is the perspective that these Arab nations are joining

[10:42]exactly knowing you know what what this border of peace plan really

[10:48]is what's behind it um I mean we know most of them

[10:49]are as well very much you know normalized with the US and

[10:54]Israel but are are they really fooling themselves in this process would

[10:57]you say >> I don't know if they're fooling themselves any more

[11:01]than anyone else on the border of peace because I think Donald

[11:04]Trump is fooling himself too if he thinks this is going to

[11:11]work Um but they they want to appear cooperative and if it

[11:15]works they want to it to work out to their advantage.

[11:20]You notice that the board of peace has no Palestinian on on

[11:23]that board.

[11:27]And um and yet it is um the it is the authority

[11:36]above the uh the the the group that uh the the Palestinian

[11:40]authority that is going to govern and Palestine.

[11:45]So this this cancels out basically pal the Pal Palestinian role uh

[11:51]even if [clears throat] their pal the Palestinian rep representatives that have

[11:58]been proposed for the subordinate group uh are not the choice of

[12:05]the Palestinian people.

[12:05]Uh nevertheless, the Board of Peace itself, the Arab members of the

[12:10]Board of Peace uh want to profit from from uh their role

[12:15]in the the Board of Peace, just like everybody else who's on

[12:18]the Board of Peace.

[12:21]Uh so that's that's what's that's how they've staked out their role

[12:26]there.

[12:27]They they want to appear cooperative.

[12:29]They want uh but they also want to make money and extend

[12:33]their influence.

[12:48]And you know, you're mentioning uh how not just the Arabs, but

[12:50]all the countries really and Trump himself, they're fooling themselves with, you

[12:54]know, this this whole idea of a board of peace and it

[12:59]actually working out the way they're envisioning it to.

[13:00]And you're mentioning how that's not going to happen.

[13:03]what what do you envision will happen, you know, moving forward.

[13:06]Obviously, there's this plan, but also just looking at the realities that

[13:10]that are unfolding in Palestine right now, Palestinians continuing to get killed

[13:14]as we know a ceasefire is in place.

[13:16]So, we know whatever plans that are being put in place, whether

[13:20]it's a ceasefire or not, they're definitely not panning out the way

[13:24]that they're supposed to.

[13:24]So, with this next phase as well, how do you actually realistically

[13:28]see things moving forward?

[13:31]only the Palestinians will move things forward for the Palestinians.

[13:39]Nobody else has their interests at heart.

[13:44]So, um, what I expect is that Israel will fall apart by

[13:51]itself.

[13:48]It is not that the Palestinians will maintain such a pressure on

[13:57]on Israel that Israel will fall apart because of that.

[14:00]what what is happening with Israel now, Israel has basically lost all

[14:07]of world opinion.

[14:08]Uh with some exceptions in the West, but even in the United

[14:15]States, um the recent polls have have said that most Americans um

[14:20]are more sympathetic to Palestinians than to Israelis.

[14:25]That's an extraordinary development.

[14:28]It's Israel that is losing its own population.

[14:33]This the population that has been lost, the Israeli Jewish population that

[14:39]that has gone somewhere else in the world uh is equivalent to

[14:45]the p the population that Reza has lost as well.

[14:50]not the same way.

[14:49]But nevertheless, if you take the upper limits, say half a half

[14:57]a million uh people in Gaza have died either directly because of

[15:02]uh uh Israeli military action or indirectly which is a larger number

[15:07]due to disease and starvation and uh [clears throat] and exposure to

[15:13]the cold and so forth.

[15:18]um then uh they've actually the the Israelis have lost the same

[15:23]percentage of their own population.

[15:25]They're they're fighting amongst each other.

[15:27]I think it may go the way of the crusaders.

[15:33]The crusaders in the end lost their support from uh their the

[15:38]groups in Europe, the countries in Europe and the church and so

[15:41]forth [clears throat] that kept them going.

[15:44]They lost that support and they withered away and um and they

[15:51]uh became smaller and smaller and eventually they were all overthrown or

[15:56]absorbed in the population.

[15:56]I think that's what's going to happen with uh with Israel.

[16:04]Israel is not there for the duration.

[16:05]It is it is uh suffering greatly and [clears throat] ultimately I

[16:10]think the Jews themselves will abandon Israel.

[16:14]They're already doing that to a certain ex extent.

[16:16]>> Yeah.

[16:17]And and you know Paul you bring up a really interesting point

[16:20]because I want to kind of connect it to the larger picture

[16:22]here as well.

[16:23]You're absolutely right in saying that you know first of all the

[16:26]world populations even as you mentioned western populations have very much awakened

[16:30]to the realities of what Israel has done and what it stands

[16:36]for.

[16:34]Um but one thing we know that the US and Israel especially

[16:38]the US is very good at doing is manufacturing consent to do

[16:44]to justify whatever it it likes to do especially when it comes

[16:48]to foreign intervention but convincing as well its population that certain measures

[16:52]it takes are necessary and at some point even if they're like

[16:55]you know if you mention western populations right now a very significant

[16:58]portion as polls are showing of Americans even Republicans are saying we

[17:03]don't want our tax money to go to Israel.

[17:06]But despite that fact, you know, we still see the US sending

[17:09]money to Israel, that support not ending and becoming even more.

[17:14]And at this point, you know, one of the recent, you know,

[17:16]things where we're we're hearing is the US and Israel kind of

[17:22]preparing for a potential attack on Iran.

[17:24]Iran is another situation where if you were to ask actual Iranians

[17:28]living within Iran, most of them would tell you we do not

[17:30]want an attack by the US on our country.

[17:33]We don't want another situation where Israel six, seven months ago attacked

[17:38]our people and you know killed close to a thousand innocent people,

[17:44]civilians, regular civilians, the same people that they're now saying we want

[17:48]to come save.

[17:47]But but my question here is, you know, especially with the US

[17:52]knowing that the population, even within America, would probably not want the

[17:56]US to get involved in another offensive war, they'll still do it,

[18:00]especially if their interests are closely tied with that of Israel's.

[18:03]I want to know your thoughts on this bigger picture of manufacturing

[18:07]consent to do what they want to do despite the fact that

[18:10]it is very true Israel is losing the public opinion front.

[18:15]Uh, but how do you see what you are mentioning panning out

[18:17]in the future?

[18:19]Is this going to be more of a much longer term thing

[18:20]or should we expect to see some of what you're saying materialize

[18:24]in the much, you know, shorter future?

[18:27]>> Well, I'm afraid it is going to be a longer term

[18:31]thing.

[18:32]And and part of of the problem is that uh the United

[18:36]States, despite its claims, is no longer or if it ever was

[18:45]a democracy.

[18:47]Let's suppose that all the the entire uh constituency in a particular

[18:51]congressional district um demands an end that that that their member of

[18:59]Congress vote against aid to Israel, that member of Congress, if they

[19:04]do that, if they actually follow the advice of their electorate, even

[19:10]99% of their electorate, they're still going lose their seat because in

[19:18]the next election, the um the Israel lobby in Washington is going

[19:24]to uh choose with their Democratic and Republican uh um allies.

[19:32]they're going to choose someone else to run and replace uh that

[19:35]member of Congress before they that member of Congress ever gets a

[19:42]chance to run for reelection.

[19:43]The US Congress and to some extent the the the rest of

[19:50]the US government is under the control of the the the Zionist

[19:53]lobby.

[19:54]uh as are well they they they get their support not only

[20:01]from Zionists in the United States but also from those parties uh

[20:06]that have economic power that have a lot of interest such as

[20:11]the military-industrial uh complex and and so forth.

[20:17]They uh they are a wonderful investment for for the mil Martin

[20:23]Marietta and and uh um and all the other um um manufacturers

[20:32]of of military hardware.

[20:32]So this is the situation in the United States and and furthermore

[20:36]uh the United States is far more under the control of its

[20:45]corporate uh interests than it is among uh among the population.

[20:48]The population lost that with the Supreme Court judgment um uh giving

[20:55]corporations the right to invest in in elections to to provide campaign

[21:00]money.

[21:01]Well, it's their campaign money that's running everything now.

[21:06]It's not in it's not private money that's it's not the the

[21:10]donations of individuals and we shouldn't have to have to have donations

[21:14]anyway.

[21:15]It should be publicly run, not uh it should be under the

[21:18]public control.

[21:20]Not not the interest the cor the corruption of our government by

[21:26]uh individuals willing to to or corporations willing to to donate money

[21:32]and get favors in return.

[21:35]>> Absolutely.

[21:36]And to [clears throat] kind of close the conversation, I want to

[21:40]end with, you know, especially US public opinion because, you know, whether

[21:45]it's Israel, which we just discussed, or other wars, um, you know,

[21:48]we've recently had, we actually have had a lot of recent cases,

[21:51]whether it's been Venezuela or, you know, what's going on now with

[21:55]Iran.

[21:55]Countless examples, you know, of the US being involved with either toppling

[22:00]other governments, destabilizing them, literally just walking in, kidnapping their leaders, walking

[22:04]out.

[22:05]And the US population on this side is kind of just like

[22:09]left frozen like what just happened?

[22:11]How did we just do that?

[22:12]But despite the fact that they don't want their government doing all

[22:15]these things, it's still happening.

[22:16]So with you know this next phase of this peace plan or

[22:21]whatever it is, how do you see US public opinion about this

[22:24]this plan kind of changing over time?

[22:28]And how do you think the United the United States population is

[22:31]going to respond to whatever is going to be coming in the

[22:36]next few months?

[22:37]We know I think it was Jared Kushner who was saying that

[22:40]you know we've already started with um you know fixing up the

[22:42]demolition and really kind of kickstarting the whole real estate empire that

[22:47]they want to see uh in Gaza now, whatever they fantasized about.

[22:52]But knowing that the US does have a track history of just

[22:55]walking in and starting to do its thing with zero international uh

[22:58]authority or even you know authority from Congress really, how do you

[23:03]see all of this panning out in the next you know few

[23:04]months?

[23:05]Well, I I sort of as a student of history, I I

[23:11]kind of feel like I'm in [clears throat] the transition uh of

[23:16]2,000 years ago when the Roman Republic became a Roman Empire uh

[23:22]the rule of one person.

[23:26]The Congress is insignificant now.

[23:28]They have already through the authorization uh for the use of military

[23:33]force which is now roughly uh 20 years old.

[23:38]They they've abdic abdicated their role which under the constitution to declare

[23:44]and approve war.

[23:44]They've they've given that to another branch of government the executive branch.

[23:51]So, um, for all practical purposes, uh, I I think we're an

[23:59]autocracy, uh, a dictatorship, and, uh, this is the way it'll run.

[24:07]And I don't know whether and the US public gets its choice

[24:11]between one dictator or another dictator every four years.

[24:16]Uh so and and they basically dictate in almost exactly the same

[24:20]way both both of them.

[24:22]But on the other hand, the United States is losing its economic

[24:27]power.

[24:28]Even the do the the only thing supporting the United States economy

[24:32]right now, the the the main thing is the power of the

[24:34]dollar.

[24:35]It is is a it's a financialized economy.

[24:38]And um and now it's been stretched to its limit.

[24:45]The national debt is a huge is becoming a huge burden because

[24:47]they have to raise the interest rate in order to attract borrowers

[24:55]to come and get it and uh a lot of more investment

[24:57]is going into commodities and other areas like gold and silver because

[25:02]they they don't they wonder whether the US dollar will will uh

[25:10][clears throat] sustain uh the government and uh And I think that's

[25:14]it's going to collapse.

[25:18]I I I I'm I'm betting on it.

[25:19]We are in much the same state that the British government was

[25:24]in before World War I and especially be before World War II.

[25:32]Uh we are in a collapse where we're uh seeing it happen.

[25:37]And um this government stupidly um exerted sanctions on a number of

[25:44]countries including Russia and Syria and others.

[25:49]Uh and by doing so it uh it sent these countries and

[26:00]others away from the dollar because it didn't want Syria for example

[26:04]to participate in the dollar.

[26:05]So, and Russia and now Russia and China are themselves running away

[26:10]from the dollar.

[26:11]In the case of Russia, they have sanctions and there are a

[26:14]few sanctions on on China as well.

[26:16]But I think that's a disaster for the US government.

[26:18]It's the stupidest decision they could possibly have made.
