[0:00]my dear brothers and sisters Elders we've all heard that the scene
[0:17]on the day of judgment despite being a truly Dreadful one one
[0:23]that requires us to ponder over our lives and our actions it
[0:30]is the day Day of Reckoning after all it's the day when
[0:35]all is B is laid bare everything is exposed it's the day
[0:41]when people truly regret their actions and fall down in prostration begging
[0:51]God for Mercy if we were left to our own actions and
[0:58]forced to face the conse consquences of our Deeds then it's going
[1:05]to be a truly terrifying day and yet on the other hand
[1:14]and in sharp contrast to this image Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has
[1:19]given us Glad Tidings that there are people on the day of
[1:22]judgment who will face no fear there are those who will be
[1:27]treated like royalty who will take the fast track into paradise and
[1:35]perhaps more than any other group those that have been identified as
[1:44]the first to enter paradise and to be given the best of
[1:49]treatments are those who somehow in some meaningful way associate with fa
[2:04]the Hadith that our brother read out to you just before the
[2:12]start of the majus is one of a number of traditions that
[2:17]speak about those who are awarded the honor of receiving God's grace
[2:26]and mercy thanks to that Association f z herself comes before the
[2:38]entire human race Allah subhanahu wa taala commanding one of the angels
[2:46]to declare that everyone should bow their head down who was not
[3:03]even allowed to mourn in the graveyard of Z who was effectively
[3:10]thrown out of the city of Medina it is on this day
[3:18]that God wishes to ensure everyone knows who fa truly is and
[3:25]this dunia her right was usurped her station was ignored her rank
[3:30]was unknown in fact she is called fa according to the Hadith
[3:38]of our sixth IM because the Arabic language is what you call
[3:48]a nursing mother who stops feeding her infant her breast milk other
[3:56]words when the infant is old enough after 2 years or what
[4:00]have you a mother simply stops nursing this child that event is
[4:10]a momentous point in the life of the child this child will
[4:14]no longer drink from his mother's milk ever again that's called fat
[4:21]it is to put an end to something to put a stop
[4:27]to something to block it from happening the Imam says that fa
[4:33]was called because people are blocked from knowing her that's why there's
[4:41]always a Mystique around you think that you're getting to know her
[4:48]only to realize that you don't know a thing and not just
[4:57]you and I the IM says every single cre nature of Allah
[5:00]subhah wa taala no matter how intelligent no matter how able no
[5:07]matter how much knowledge they possess when it comes to fa there's
[5:13]a block Allah wants it that way and on the day of
[5:16]judgment God wants to reveal if only part of the Grandeur of
[5:24]fa and so even there he says lower your heads close your
[5:31]eyes for fa is about to pass in another version of the
[5:38]Hadith f z goes all the way up to the pearly gates
[5:44]to the entrance of paradise says I wish to inaugurate Paradise she's
[5:53]the first person to step in and then she asks Allah again
[5:57]I don't want to get into the details of the Hadith you've
[6:01]heard it before is the one who comes to IM and he
[6:03]says to him there's a a lot of weight resting on my
[6:10]chest I see all these actions all the oppression the pain the
[6:17]misery that the followers of the have to go through and so
[6:23]I wish for you to give me something to provide me with
[6:26]Solace and so the Imam tells him this had he says that
[6:32]FAA comes she stands by the gates of paradise she then stops
[6:37]everyone's waiting for her to take that first step open God's heaven
[6:46]but she stops Allah subhana wa TAA says em fa my servant
[6:51]fa what a servant she was what is it that stops you
[6:58]what's holding you back and so she says oh Allah I wish
[7:02]to be known on this day and so Allah says to her
[7:09]go back and take anyone that you deem and identify as a
[7:13]Shia of yours into Paradise no questions asked so goes back she
[7:29]begin to pick her followers the way a bird picks the good
[7:36]seeds from the bad seeds in quick succession she picks them all
[7:39]out and then she takes them into Paradise in another version of
[7:49]the Hadith the Imam says it is on that day when people
[7:57]see the Grandeur they see the honor bestowed upon the followers of
[8:03]faat zah and those associated with her every single person on the
[8:09]plains of will wish they were [Music] what now what does that
[8:18]mean they wish they were fa they wish they were associated with
[8:24]f what does that actually mean this is what I want to
[8:30]discuss tonight because it's one thing for a wonderful Community like yours
[8:36]to hold what 20 25is for f z in different languages that's
[8:44]absolutely wonderful may Allah bless you all people need to understand that
[8:49]the martyrdom of f z is the of f it needs to
[8:55]be honored and glorified the way we honor IM Hussein during the
[8:59]season of is no ordinary personality in our faith she's no ordinary
[9:07]personality in this universe and so her martyrdom her death her oppression
[9:15]the events that transpired after the passing of the Holy messenger and
[9:21]targeted none other than F because she's the only one who spoke
[9:25]out in the last FIA I talked about how was commanded to
[9:32]practice why because he had fa to speak for him shielded she
[9:40]was literally The Shield that prevented harm from reaching the IM by
[9:45]being crushed between the wall and the door FAA spoke so everyone
[9:54]else went silent so this is wonderful however the question we should
[9:58]be asking ourselves towards the end of this season is are we
[10:02]Faun or not are we now associated with FAA are we connected
[10:07]with her or is it just a seasonal thing and so I
[10:13]want to start with a Hadith from F herself the Hadith is
[10:19]found in the book known as it's a book it's a it's
[10:30]a book that contains commentary that imanari delivered to two people which
[10:37]was compiled as a t of the Imam a an exegesis of
[10:45]the Holy Quran unfortunately that series of commentary that the Imam provided
[10:54]or or whichever you want to call it didn't wasn't complet and
[11:00]so all we have now is that one volume but it does
[11:03]contain Priceless gems in the form of knowledge Left To Us by
[11:11]our 11th Imam the Imam says in that book that one day
[11:14]a man said to his wife I want you to go to
[11:18]fa Z and ask her a question about me and how beautiful
[11:23]by the way is it that every once in a while we
[11:29]try to evaluate ourselves we try and ask some uncomfortable questions that's
[11:36]a big risk he took ask FAA am I a worthy follower
[11:40]of hers am I a sh truly or not but he wants
[11:48]to ensure that he reviews his actions every company every student at
[11:53]University every single person who wants to progress in life conduct what
[11:59]we call a review whether it be an annual review a monthly
[12:02]review every 5 years there's a review happening this man wants to
[12:07]review his actions are they in line with the teachings of the
[12:12]or not so he sends his wife to ask this question directly
[12:20]to Lady fa she goes and says to her my husband asks
[12:23]is he one of your followers one of the sh or not
[12:30]f z instead of telling this woman that your husband is a
[12:34]Shia or isn't a Shia she gives us the rule by which
[12:39]we can all measure ourselves she says that if you fit this
[12:42]description then you're a Shia but one thing I want you to
[12:49]uh examine as I as I tell you the Hadith is that
[12:54]in the words of f zah there are many instances where she
[13:00]speaks about what a Shia is and what a Shia is not
[13:04]because if I said that a Shia is someone who's kind generous
[13:09]well-mannered prays fasts does these things it's difficult to try and identify
[13:18]those who don't fall into this description right that's why she was
[13:25]more specific she said this is what makes a Shia and if
[13:28]if this doesn't apply Li to you then you're not a sh
[13:32]specifically she uses this term what is it she said the to
[13:40]the woman go tell your husband that if you're one of those
[13:44]people who obeys our commands and refrains from our prohibitions and what
[13:51]we have forbidden then he's one of our sh otherwise he's not
[14:00]this is a no-brainer you've heard this a thousand times 10,000 times
[14:06]before that a sh is someone who follows in the footsteps of
[14:14]their IM not someone who hangs a necklace around their neck for
[14:20]example that resembles not someone who hangs something on their wall that
[14:25]says yah Hussein or yah Ali not someone who gets a tattoo
[14:30]that says this that or the other right in fact the word
[14:34]sh is used in other context that would clarify the concept a
[14:41]funeral in Arabic is called and the reason it's called is that
[14:47]you walk behind what the coffin you walk behind the casket the
[14:53]casket is usually at the very uh beginning of the procession everybody
[14:58]else is behind it where the casket goes so does everybody so
[15:06]is one who walks in the footsteps of their leader so makes
[15:15]it very clear in the most succinct form she says if you
[15:28]obey what we have commanded you and if you refrain from that
[15:35]which we have forbidden upon you then you are as such meaning
[15:38]you are a if not then not the woman ran to her
[15:48]husband she told her she told him what F had said the
[15:51]man started wailing and screaming he knows himself he's trying to conduct
[15:59]a review he's not trying fool himself oh yeah I'm alhamdulillah he's
[16:04]a person who's honest with himself he started wailing and screaming saying
[16:09]in that case I will go to hell for eternity then he
[16:17]explains he said because if that means I am not a Shia
[16:20]because I'm a sinner who doesn't commit sins I also commit sins
[16:26]every once in a while I fallen into Satan Shan's traps and
[16:30]if that means I am no longer a Shia I am outside
[16:33]the fold of a Shia then I'm going to hell what do
[16:40]I do the woman went back to my husband says this so
[16:46]lady fa added a few caveats and clarified what she had said
[16:51]listen carefully she said no no no no he might have misunderstood
[16:57]me I was careful in the choice of my words I said
[17:02]that he is not a sh I didn't say he's going to
[17:07]hell then she said that our Shia are the princes of paradise
[17:13]if you're talking about Shia then these aren't just people who go
[17:18]to paradise they rule over the heavens those are our Shia as
[17:27]for those who love us and disassociate from our enemies in other
[17:33]words she's focusing now on not on actions and deeds and behavior
[17:39]she says those who love us and disassociate from our enemies yet
[17:46]commit sins they are not our Shia rather they are our lovers
[17:54]and these lovers since they commit sins they will have to to
[18:01]suffer the consequences of their sins ultimately if they maintain our love
[18:06]and disassociate from our enemies we will help them we'll come to
[18:13]their rescue we'll intercede for them we'll give them sha eventually we'll
[18:18]take them to Paradise but and this is a word of warning
[18:20]warning from faat Z she said however because they've committed all those
[18:25]sins Allah subhana wa ta'ala will have to purey y them they
[18:33]have to be cleansed they have to be purified a sinner doesn't
[18:39]step into Paradise a paradise is a is a pure Place only
[18:42]for the pure souls and individuals for you and I to step
[18:50]into Paradise we have to be purified how through trials and tribulations
[18:57]through afflictions and problems challenges she says they will have to be
[19:04]cleansed through these tribulations as well as if they have too many
[19:11]sins then on the day of judgment they will have to face
[19:18]the ups and downs the challenges the obstructions of the day of
[19:26]resurrection and that is a dreadful day it's a day that lasts
[19:34]for 50,000 years 50,000 and if we have sins that must be
[19:39]cleansed on the day of judgment this is no laughing matter this
[19:45]is a very very serious thing we would have to avoid it
[19:48]at all cost then fat zah says and there are people whose
[19:55]sins are too many even for the pain and difficulty of to
[20:04]cleanse which is why they'll have to be cleansed in the upper
[20:08]levels of the fires of Hell they'll have to end up going
[20:15]to hell and if anyone's ever been burnt you know that whether
[20:22]it's the upper levels or the lower levels fire is fire and
[20:25]we seek refuge in Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala from the fire of Hell
[20:32]a fire that was created it was created such that the mercy
[20:38]of Allah is devoid from it so even if it's the upper
[20:43]levels will be boiling there literally so makes it very clear if
[20:53]you're someone whose beliefs are in line with us you love us
[20:56]show loyalty to us and disown and disassociate from our enemies then
[21:03]eventually you'll go to paradise now the question is how do you
[21:07]conduct yourself how do you live your life if you commit a
[21:12]sin do you repent from that sin or not again one of
[21:17]the most beautiful things about our faith is that Allah subhana wa
[21:21]ta'ala has left open the gates of his mercy and forgiveness for
[21:24]everyone as long as the repentance is a genuine one is a
[21:31]true one if we truly repent then we don't have to worry
[21:36]about all those trials and tribulations because Allah out of his infinite
[21:42]Mercy will grant us clemency if I feel like I am someone
[21:45]who's committed too many sins but try and wash those sins away
[21:52]by visiting abdah Hussein for example doing good deeds Allah says Good
[21:59]Deeds wash away the bad ones people tell me sometimes that in
[22:07]my youth when I was younger I did some nasty things and
[22:10]my answer to them is always the same Allah's Mercy is available
[22:14]to you the door to repentance is open to you you just
[22:20]have to make sure that number one you make a solid commitment
[22:22]that you will not commit those sins again and number two that
[22:28]you wash them away in other words cleanse yourself through Good Deeds
[22:32]before Allah cleanses you through tribulations and calamities this is one of
[22:40]the beauties of our religion soam says that you'll have to be
[22:48]held to account you'll have to answer to what you've done if
[22:52]you don't you'll suffer if you don't wash away your sins if
[22:55]you don't cleanse them if you don't somehow fix what you've broken
[23:02]then you'll have to face Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and so what
[23:07]does it mean to be a fa what does it mean to
[23:14]be a follower of f z that a person would be picked
[23:19]out by her Blessed Hands on the day of judgment and allowed
[23:22]to enter Paradise as part of the very first delegation first Convoy
[23:28]in to the heavens it means to love her disassociate from her
[23:37]enemies and conduct myself in a manner that closely resembles hers but
[23:43]if I sit down and I say I've got a wedding coming
[23:48]up and the wedding has zero resemblance to the wedding of fat
[23:51]zero except maybe a salawat here salawat there hijab is all over
[24:00]the place the music is deafening the mixing the makeup all these
[24:05]things that happen and that's the good weddings I'm not even talking
[24:10]about the ones where sin is happening blatantly in broad daylight if
[24:14]in the way I conduct myself in the community I act like
[24:21]one of the killers of f power hungry vicious I always say
[24:28]from there is an election in any Community because that's where the
[24:34]masks come down that's where there's literally no one knows anything about
[24:41]the or it's literally about gaining a seat at the table or
[24:48]dominating the entire community so that I could have my way so
[24:53]that I could boast about it so that I could there are
[24:54]many Community leaders who are incredibly decent and sincere and whatnot I'm
[25:00]not generalizing I'm just saying for me to be in that position
[25:05]is a very prec precarious one very difficult one because how do
[25:10]I control myself with that power the says the very last desire
[25:18]that exits the heart of those who are truly righteous is the
[25:24]desire for power and authority people grow old they don't have any
[25:32]sexual desire anymore but the desire for Authority only intensifies only gets
[25:38]worse and worse the desire to win whether it be in business
[25:41]or in an argument this desire we have so many Traditions from
[25:49]the called don't do this if you see that this conversation is
[25:54]going nowhere and you're only engaging in the discussion to prove yourself
[25:59]right just walk away if the other person's not agreeing with you
[26:03]if you're not meeting halfway if you're not making a point that's
[26:06]valid just walk away there's no point in trying to prove myself
[26:13]right but this is a desire that doesn't escape people except those
[26:18]who are truly righteous except those who actually follow the and say
[26:23]what am I trying to do what's the whole point of this
[26:27]so the desire to win the desire to avenge someone doing something
[26:35]to me that was hurtful suddenly they hold this Vengeance in their
[26:40]heart for 40 years 50 years they sever family relations how is
[26:44]this in line with the teachings of and the examples set by
[26:50]the 30 years 40 years doesn't talk to their brother or sister
[26:57]because they said something to me back in the day and then
[27:00]what they when they get the other upper hand when they have
[27:06]the ability to avenge that hurtful comment boy do they deliver all
[27:11]of these things they have to be checked we have to have
[27:17]this review after the faia is the time for us to review
[27:19]our actions and say do I want to be a f on
[27:23]the day of judgment or do I want to wait there standing
[27:27]for the next 50 th000 years or do I want to be
[27:34]paraded into Paradise with Grace and honor yes it means I have
[27:39]to step on my ego a little bit it means I have
[27:43]to check myself and be honest with myself but ultimately it's worth
[27:46]it it's well worth it on a few days literally a few
[28:04]days before his martyrdom the Imam delivered a sermon it's a beautiful
[28:11]sermon it begins after speaking about the greatness of Allah subhanahu wa
[28:18]ta'ala praising the almighty Lord after that the Imam spoke about death
[28:24]and its inevitability and the fact that it affects everyone and he
[28:34]said where are the amalekites where are the Pharaoh they ruled over
[28:41]the land but where are they today they're all under the dust
[28:47]6 feet under no power no strength No Authority nothing then suddenly
[28:55]the Imam shifted from asking asking about the tyrants and the despots
[29:01]to asking about his friends the Imam said where are my brothers
[29:23]where are my brothers who recited the Quran and ensured that they
[29:28]uphold the teachings of the Quran where are those who understood the
[29:36]Juris Prudence of Islam and in short that was applied and he
[29:44]mentions a few specific individuals these were three of them and then
[29:53]the Imam kind of expands this the scope of his sermon and
[29:59]he says um yes something along those lines he says where are
[30:17]where are the likes of who pledged a commitment to die that
[30:29]was their Comm commitment not to be a follower of or be
[30:36]called sh falsely there's a parenthetically I'll mention this IM um Hass
[30:44]was once asked a question the question was is so and so
[30:48]uh or sorry a person came to him and the Imam said
[30:52]to him what are you he said I am one of your
[30:55]Shia Imam said you know since you don't apply our teachings don't
[30:59]commit a sin by lying and calling yourself a Shia because that's
[31:04]a lie at least if you don't have any good deeds to
[31:06]offer at least don't commit sins because that's a sin to lie
[31:11]they came to the holy prophet one day and they said to
[31:17]him y Allah there's a man who keeps looking at his neighbor's
[31:21]wife and if he had the chance to commit a sinful act
[31:27]it probably wouldn't bother him so the prophet became angry he said
[31:34]bring him to me so someone said to the prophet y but
[31:36]you know this man is one of your Shia meaning not only
[31:40]does he love you but he also loves Ali and FAA and
[31:43]Hassan and Hussein so it's kind of different you know he's one
[31:47]of us the prophet said Don't Lie he is not a Shia
[31:52]if this is what he does if this is his lifestyle Don't
[31:55]Call Him A Shia call himself someone who loves us yes maybe
[32:02]if that helps him if he can somehow retain that love then
[32:05]maybe it'll help him sure but there's no guarantee though is there
[32:09]for me to retain the love I have seen so many too
[32:18]many people in fact who used to be lovers of the B
[32:20]but ended up veering off the path and ending up in the
[32:28]worst possible place one day this person says I love the dissociate
[32:31]from the enemies but because of those sins as the Holy Quran
[32:37]tells us the ultimate Abode of Those who commit acts of sin
[32:53]is that they will belly the signs of Allah subhana wa tala
[32:57]meaning deny them and even make a mockery of them starts out
[33:04]as a quote unquote sh but then the sins they keep chipping
[33:08]away at his faith they keep reducing whatever is left in that
[33:14]heart in terms of Love towards the in the end he'll end
[33:19]up with nothing he'll end up with absolute disbelief and I've seen
[33:26]this recently came across a case someone who was anyway so in
[33:35]that sermon mentions these individuals and he says that they got together
[33:40]and they pledged their lives and said we're not content with mediocrity
[33:46]we're not just going to be lovers or even no no we
[33:53]want to die for him then the Imam says because of that
[34:00]comes from the word b means cold the Imam says they put
[34:09]their severed heads in a cold vessel perhaps with ice and they
[34:13]transported those heads to the tyrants of the day who is the
[34:20]Imam talking about he's talking about this man whose head was the
[34:28]first to ever be transported from one place to another in Islam
[34:32]mua had such hatred towards him that when he was told he's
[34:39]eventually killed he was on the Run they started hunting his family
[34:42]members putting his wife in prison either you surrender yourself or we'll
[34:48]kill you eventually there was a skirmish he was trying to save
[34:55]his family from persecution and he was killed when muawiya heard he
[34:59]said I want to see his head it's not enough for me
[35:00]to be told that has been killed so they took his head
[35:05]all the way from the north of Iraq all the way to
[35:09]Syria so that mua could enjoy looking at it says these are
[35:14]my brothers and I want you to think about this in his
[35:21]Grandeur calls these individuals they're my brothers that's how the honor their
[35:31]followers their true sincere followers Ali calls them brothers so the Imam
[35:44]mentioned these individuals and then theith says then the Imam grabbed his
[35:58]blessed beard and he cried for a lengthy period imagine on theim
[36:09]holding his beard and crying and yearning for his brothers in yearning
[36:15]for his companions he cried and cried and cried I want to
[36:23]talk about some of these companions tonight to provide a blue blueprint
[36:29]an example an icon a paragon some source of emulation if we're
[36:38]going to be we need to be like this specifically I want
[36:44]to mention a particular family Three Brothers one was called the other
[36:52]was called Zade the third was called San they were all the
[37:00]children [Music] of and who are these people as for he was
[37:16]one of the true soldiers of Al he has incredible stances that
[37:23]he took in the life of and the IM would often use
[37:28]him to be his personal Messenger to the evil Tyrant mua not
[37:34]everyone gets picked out for this role Amir would send s to
[37:42]do that and boy did he play soccer with mua for example
[37:48]one day he goes to see muaah to deliver the imam's message
[37:55]and as soon as he entered the court of mua mua is
[38:01]sitting on his bed imagine these people like they didn't even care
[38:05]they're not even trying to look you know like someone who's a
[38:11]got a position of authority you know he's simply got a bed
[38:16]there everyone's sitting around in chairs when SAS walks in there's no
[38:21]space for him so mua makes a comment that simultaneously tries to
[38:26]provide some space for him but at the same time he wants
[38:32]to mock SAS so he says make some space for thisi tabi
[38:39]meaning a follower of Abu said to him imagine he's at the
[38:46]court of mua in Damascus imagine being surrounded by all of these
[38:53]terrorists but this is how he spoke back to Mu he said
[38:56]to him yes I am a means soil right he said yes
[39:03]I am a I was created from this soil and into it
[39:10]I will return as for you I can see you've been created
[39:20]from fire I'm created from dust I'm created from clay but you
[39:24]just like your brother shaan you were created from fire on another
[39:29]occasion he goes to muaah this is in the time of IM
[39:35]Hassan later on mua looks at s he says that your master
[39:42]IM Hassan secured a guarantee from me that I don't kill you
[39:47]and I wish I hadn't given him that guarantee because I hate
[39:54]you that much I wish I could kill you right now so
[39:59]I won't kill you but you'll have to get up on this
[40:02]Pulpit right now I want you to curse being said sure absolutely
[40:10]he got up on the pulpit he said oh people this man
[40:17]who is dripping with evil is asking me to curse he's asking
[40:26]me to curse Ali so curs him so everyone said a mu
[40:33]looked at he said I walked right into this one didn't I
[40:35]he meant no one except me he asked me to curse Ali
[40:47]so curse him so people cursed not Ali but mu on another
[40:53]occasion walks in he says Ian this this we sit here and
[40:59]we talk about this as if it's you know some tale or
[41:04]joke or what have you but really put yourself in his position
[41:09]how does someone reach such a level of loyalty to a person
[41:14]who commits sins left right and Center is going to have this
[41:20]kind of loyalty of course not of course not his entire life
[41:24]revolves around Ali his whole world view revolves around Ali his lifestyle
[41:30]his actions on a daily basis are there to satisfy Ali the
[41:35]IM of his time but he walks in and mua says to
[41:42]him that uh I want to ask you a question what do
[41:47]you think first of all who's your tribe so he started to
[41:53]he offered A Veiled Threat to mua he said oh you don't
[41:55]want to meet my tribe My Tribe are known for their bravery
[42:01]they're the best warriors they're the most skilled Fighters trust me you
[42:06]don't want to meet them then he said well talk to me
[42:09]about my tribe qur so s said as for qur they are
[42:16]the most noble of tribes they are the best of the best
[42:21]they're known for their generosity they're known for their kind treatment of
[42:26]others they're known for this known for that M said whoa masallah
[42:29]you've kind of changed your tone he said no no no I
[42:35]wasn't talking about Ben they're the worst of creatures I was talking
[42:37]about B Hashim you fool so mua said to him listen I
[42:45]am fed up with you I have no more patience with you
[42:47]so get out before I kill you Sasa left mua looked at
[42:53]his people he said I wish I were one of his children
[42:57]and then he said how come none of you ever look like
[43:01]people like this the Loyalty that he has towards I've never seen
[43:06]anything like that and so he started cursing his own people this
[43:10]is who now eventually gets exiled by mua to bahin and he
[43:25]has a shrine there I've been there and people go to visit
[43:31]him honored glorified as a sh of the sh ofah seek inspiration
[43:38]from the shrine of Sasa let's talk a little bit about his
[43:42]brother Zade San in a nutshell Zade walked in the footsteps of
[43:53]until he was killed in the Battle of jam fell to the
[44:03]ground the Imam sat next to his head the Imam then praised
[44:12]him he said may Allah bless you you were a good man
[44:19]you were a loyal companion so then the Imam said something about
[44:24]him which kind of sums up the entire message of this lecture
[44:28]the Imam said to him I'll tell you what happened afterwards then
[44:41]I'll try and open this up a little he said to him
[44:46]may Allah bless you o Zade you were someone who didn't place
[44:51]too much of a burden on me ma is the things you
[44:58]take with you when you travel right it's the things you need
[45:02]he said you had you were you didn't carry too much of
[45:10]a burden you weren't a burden upon me you know how sometimes
[45:14]you come across people like that it's like they're high maintenance that's
[45:19]the best description high maintenance right the Imam says to him you
[45:24]were very low maintenance for me and conversely is to help and
[45:36]assistam says you helped me a lot but expected so little in
[45:45]return the Imam then said uh that you were like this may
[45:51]Allah bless you so Zade responded to the IM said to him
[45:58]I only joined you because I knew how great God is in
[46:07]your chest how much you glorify Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala how everything
[46:13]else is insignificant in your heart but God Allah is so great
[46:19]then he said to him the reason I decided to come and
[46:26]join you is what because I Read 50 books because I listen
[46:32]to 100th no no no no it was just one Hadith that
[46:38]I heard from a woman called the wife of told me I
[46:48]wasn't there in but said to me that the holy prophet said
[46:54]about you that end of the story that's all I need you
[47:11]know when someone has Insight when someone has foresight when someone's inner
[47:17]eye is able to see Truth for what it is they're not
[47:24]clouded by confusion they're not obstructed by doubt that person sees things
[47:30]so clearly I don't need all the arguments for and against and
[47:33]to hear all the different groups and sects and denominations debating things
[47:39]out no no no no that's all I need said Allah and
[47:49]he died in the Battle of Jamal going back to the statement
[47:57]made by Amir and I don't wish to take too much of
[47:59]your time the IM said let me give you an example of
[48:07]that a father has a son who is just high maintenance high
[48:15]maintenance not just financially but the father's always worried that this son
[48:20]is going to make a mistake he's going to falter he'll fall
[48:25]down and and and injur himself he's going to for example make
[48:32]a loss and lose the business he's going to stop studying and
[48:35]flunk out and quit University for example right sometimes you have children
[48:44]who are like this they're high maintenance people and so the father
[48:48]has to worry about them the father has to constantly put out
[48:51]fires behind the father has to always you know check up on
[48:57]them making sure they're not making any mistakes they're not doing anything
[48:59]stupid right some children are like this but then again you have
[49:07]children who are not only does the father not have to worry
[49:11]about them someone who has like four or five kids will always
[49:16]have one who falls into this category and one who falls in
[49:20]the other this son not only does the father not have to
[49:24]worry about him he's always looking after the father he's looking after
[49:28]the mother he's looking after the family he's reliable the father knows
[49:35]he does not have to worry about him says about that you
[49:42]were like this you were like the ideal son the ideal brother
[49:49]the ideal Shia I don't have to worry too much about you
[49:52]and you're always ready stepping up to provide whatever assistance you can
[49:58]which is why we have in the Dua where we speak to
[50:04]Allah subhah wa taala about the IM of the time what do
[50:06]we say we say make me among his helpers his supporters his
[50:17][Music] followers make me among those who Shield him protect him you
[50:27]usually it's the other way around we want the Imam to protect
[50:29]us we want the IM to look after us we want the
[50:33]Imam to fix our problems but in this Dua we are providing
[50:40]the description of the ideal sh the Z who says oh Allah
[50:46]make me among those who if the IM needs something I haste
[50:54]to providing him with what he needs now right now what does
[51:00]the Imam need from me from me personally nothing IM doesn't need
[51:03]me but a fellow sh might need me a fellow brother sister
[51:11]who's in need who's going through difficult times whether it's Financial emotional
[51:20]mental whatever the case might be this is what when I see
[51:24]someone who needs help I help them in the of IM I
[51:29]become one of the helpers of IM Zan unlike those about whom
[51:38]said what when he addressed some of the people of kufa the
[51:43]Imam said what a disgrace think about it the Imam says you
[51:53]look like men but you're nothing like men then he said you
[51:59]have the patience of children you know how you take your children
[52:02]outside and every two minutes they're like are we there yet are
[52:07]we there yet no patience some men are like this especially when
[52:10]it comes to doing good deeds especially when it comes to serving
[52:14]the cause of their faith and satisfying their Imam no patience they
[52:18]do something the first sign of trouble they quit IM says they
[52:32]have the intellectual capacity of these women in The Villages or Nomads
[52:37]who have never left their home they don't know anything in terms
[52:42]of knowledge I'm lacking in terms of patience I'm lacking in terms
[52:48]of manhood it's all over the place we think manhood is to
[52:51]work out at the gym and become buff we think it's about
[52:55]having big biceps and muscles and whatnot what we don't understand is
[52:58]to be a man is to have patience against adversity and in
[53:05]the face of problems and challenges to be a man is to
[53:08]wake up every morning and go to bed at night saying was
[53:15]I loyal to you as the companions of IM Hussein said to
[53:20]him on the day of the likes of abdah who shielded the
[53:26]IM with his face and his neck as the arrows came raining
[53:29]down he would block them with his face and only held out
[53:36]long enough until the Imam finished his prayer then he fell to
[53:39]the ground the Imam came up to him he held his head
[53:44]in his lap and he opened his eyes and he saw the
[53:47]Luminous face of abdah then he looked at the IM and he
[53:54]said to him was I loyal to you please tell me I
[54:00]passed the test are you satisfied with me are you happy with
[54:08]me the Imam cried he said yes you will proceed me to
[54:16]paradise he'll be there before I do convey my salams to my
[54:19]grandfather tell him your grandson is deserted and abandoned all alone on
[54:26]the plains of carala tell him what they're doing to me and
[54:32]my family so says to the people of kufa he says this
[54:34]is what you are you think that because you have beards and
[54:40]you wear these clothes that you're men then the Imam said something
[54:48]I seek refuge in Allah from being described like this by the
[54:56]IM of my time God forbid the mom said may Allah disgrace
[55:05]you you have filled my heart with blood you have filled my
[55:13]heart with puss you have made me sick with the way you
[55:17]have treated me what the Imam had to face in terms of
[55:21]the oppression and foul acts of disgrace from people who consider themselves
[55:29]to be sh is more than what he faced in the camp
[55:35]of mua he said that's why in that seron he Longs for
[55:44]his brothers as he calls them he yearns for the likes of
[56:03]mamed the Imam yearns for them because he was so alone and
[56:09]he became alone on the day they ambushed his home after the
[56:15]death of the holy prophet of Islam the loneliness then was Indescribable
[56:20]brothers and sisters we say this but wall simply mention mentioning the
[56:28]fact that F had to sit on the back of a mule
[56:34]take her children Hassan and Hussein along with door too in the
[56:42]dead of night in the pitch black darkness night after night 95
[56:52]days how many doors did she knock some have said 300 homes
[56:57]FAA had to go as soon as people would see her approaching
[57:04]they would close their curtains they would lock their door so that
[57:11]FAA doesn't come knocking that's that is loneliness that is when someone
[57:18]is a stranger in their own town and City and that was
[57:25]a hmark of the loneliness the Hadith says and I'll mention this
[57:31]to the young brothers and sisters listening to me the had says
[57:39]Islam began as a lonely stranger and it will end up becoming
[57:47]a lonely stranger Glad Tidings to those who are strangers if people
[57:57]abandon you because you want to hold on to the Rope of
[58:01]the you wish to be a then the holy prophet is giving
[58:08]you glad tidings that's usually a good sign if you're deserted by
[58:11]your own friends and family because you're trying to do the right
[58:15]thing that's a good sign take the Glad Tidings from but what
[58:23]FAA had to face alongside her two children going to these doors
[58:31]if people did end up opening the door Fatima would say do
[58:35]you know who I am do you know who this man is
[58:39]do you know who these children are they would say of course
[58:45]we know them we know you we know your husband we know
[58:49]Hass and Hussein we heard say those words we saw that we
[58:57]saw the prophet carry them on his blessed shoulders what can we
[59:04]do for you f would say do you remember you gave your
[59:08]pledge to and to my husband in the of one man responded
[59:17]to Z yes I know we did all that but that was
[59:23]a long time ago and now we have given our pledge to
[59:26]this man the leader of the coup the self-proclaimed khif we have
[59:33]given him our pledge now and he refused to answer F zah
[59:41]and to give her any kind of commitment so lady faat zah
[59:45]turned away and left as she was leaving his son came along
[59:51]he went to his father he said father I just saw and
[59:55]imass and IM husin by our door why didn't they go in
[60:00]why didn't you invite them do you know who these are he
[60:03]said to him listen son they came asking us to fulfill our
[60:08]pledge but we gave our pledge to someone else and it is
[60:11]what it is I can't do anything about it he looked at
[60:16]his father he said May no roof ever cover you and I
[60:20]together again may I never live with you again again now that
[60:28]you have turned FAA away I won't live with you anymore so
[60:33]he turned his face and went out it got so lonely yeah
[60:56]say that when they went the funeral procession of had only five
[61:22]or six people in it she'd already left instructions to to I
[61:35]don't want those men who oppressed me to walk in my funeral
[61:44]that is why I'm asking you to bury me at night not
[61:51]in the daytime I don't want them to come and stand by
[61:58]my grave five or six people were there only the closest Companions
[62:08]of and the ones that F had allowed to come when they
[62:15]reach the burial sight lowered his beloved wife F into the ground
[62:28]he lowered her into the ground the Arab poet says he describes
[62:37]this moment quoting as saying the following [Music] my beloved it is
[63:06]time for get up but how can the Beloved rise up again
[63:52]do you have any more ribs that are not broken the imom
[64:20]lowered her into her grave making sure that the ribs of f
[64:26]aren't broken up any further I say yeah you saw one broken
[64:42]rib on that night and look what it did to you where
[64:47]were you on the day of when lady Z came to the
[64:58]saying to IM where do we go what do we do that
[65:05]is when they heard the sound of glass shattering IM says those
[65:14]are the ribs of my father may Allah bless those who scream
[65:23]hus I also say the final word final word when you saw
[65:44]that broken rib you cried and cried you realize what they had
[65:50]done to your wife what she tried to hide that whole time
[65:57]now you saw it with your own two eyes and yet somehow
[66:05]this became a tradition for the where every time one of them
[66:12]would pass away they would all be seen bursting into tears when
[66:19]they were washing the body and that tradition was repeated yet again
[66:27]in the ruins of sha when they took the three-year-old or they
[66:38]brought a woman to wash her body the woman was washing the
[66:50]body then she came running saying why didn't you tell me that
[66:55]this little girl had leprosy some skin disease which I haven't seen
[67:02]before everyone started crying saying that isn't leprosy or a skin disease
[67:10]those are the marks of the whips fromal to KU and then
[67:19]to sh one Dua it won't take too long we might be
[67:40]facing a lot of challenges brothers and sisters sinina is lonely all
[67:49]over again Imam Hussein's 3-year-old her Shrine is now surrounded by armed
[67:57]men God knows what they have in store what they have planned
[68:01]these tragedies they are unspeakable to us we hear them and our
[68:06]hearts break imagine what happens to the heart of IM and so
[68:13]the important Dua is this say it from the bottom of your
[68:37]heart five times for [Music] [Music] Sal
