Within the different Islamic schools of thought, there are mixed opinions regarding staging uprisings and revolutions against tyrants and oppressors, whether through protests, demonstrations or other alternatives. Sayed Ahmed Al-Qazwini sheds more light in those mixed points of view within the Islamic faith, clarifying the justifications and explanations that each side base their concluded opinions on. [0:00][Music] [Music] aldam [Music] [Music] brothers and sisters ever since the beginning
[1:00]of time the there has always been two Wills the first is
[1:05]the will and the determination of the people and the second is
[1:09]the will of the rulers and the governments and there has always
[1:15]been there has always been a never- ending battle between these two
[1:20]there's always these two have always been in a state of collision
[1:23]conflicting with each other and clashing at each other the people want
[1:29]one thing the government government wants the opposite the government tries to
[1:33]push things towards One Direction the people try to pull it back
[1:38]towards their Direction and what you find is that throughout history there
[1:42]have been numerous attempts by the people to try to overthrow their
[1:47]government people that would Rebel and that would try to overcome their
[1:51]governments overwhelm their governments but what you find is in most cases
[1:56]these attempts failed they could not succeed in most cases you find
[2:00]that the triumphant and preponderant side was the government and that's why
[2:08]for thousands of years many rulers most rulers have successfully been able
[2:14]to destroy any opposition that they faced and they were successful in
[2:20]launching crackdowns that would destroy not only the people but their will
[2:25]as well but this however did not completely and entirely kill the
[2:29]will of the people and that you find throughout history there is
[2:33]some remnant of life within the will of the people and that
[2:39]there have been some exceptions some instances where the people were able
[2:43]to rise and they were their will was able to overcome the
[2:47]will of the rulers and they were able to overwhelm and overthrow
[2:51]these governments and these rulers and topple them down from their Thrones
[2:56]and what you find that these people would use many ways they
[3:02]would go out and the streets they would mobilize they would for
[3:06]example March they would protest they would stage demonstrations and they would
[3:13]Rebel and they would resist all the orders of the government and
[3:17]in this way they were able to top all these governments down
[3:22]and bring them down from their Thrones and there are many famous
[3:25]successful Revolutions in history amongst the most famous re utions is the
[3:30]French Revolution that you've read about in the late in the late
[3:36]1700s and more recently about 35 years ago one of the famous
[3:42]revolutions is the Islamic revolution that took place in Iran the people
[3:46]went out in the streets and they protested and protested and rebelled
[3:50]unless they were able to bring an end to the monarchy and
[3:56]just recently in the past 5 years you saw that the Arab
[3:59]Springs the Arab uprisings that took place that began in Tunisia and
[4:03]then spread to Egypt and then to Bahrain and then to Syria
[4:09]and to Libya and what you find interesting about these Arab Springs
[4:13]is that the people were able to take advantage of technology and
[4:18]that most of the mobilizing was done through social media and that's
[4:22]why the Arab Spring was called the Facebook revolutions because most of
[4:27]the most of the protests they were mobilized through Facebook and thus
[4:31]called the Facebook revolutions now besides these points besides the different aspects
[4:38]of these revolutions what's common between all of these revolutions and uprisings
[4:43]is that there was an oppressive dictator and the people were oppressed
[4:49]this oppressive dictator had limited the the rights of the people he
[4:53]denied them of their freedoms and of their rights and the people
[4:56]were asleep the people submitted the people accepted this humiliation until one
[5:02]day came that they said no more to this Agony more no
[5:07]more to this tyranny no more to this oppression they finally woke
[5:11]up they stood they Rose and they put an end to that
[5:17]tyranny and oppression and they were successfully able to overthrow their government
[5:21]and what you found is in these uprisings that happened in the
[5:25]past couple of years in the Arab world there was one famous
[5:31]sentence that was one famous slogan that was recited in almost all
[5:35]these countries and that famous slogan was that the people the people's
[5:46]will and the people want to bring down this regime to bring
[5:49]down this government so for the first time we heard that the
[5:52]people didn't indeed have a will that for thousands of years it
[5:57]was only the will of the government and the rulers that was
[6:00]h heard and it was always what they wanted but for once
[6:04]we hear that the people also have a will that the people
[6:06]also have a want and their want and their will is to
[6:10]what to bring down those governments and in many of these countries
[6:14]they were successful now the important question that raises here and comes
[6:20]to mind is is it islamically allowed that we stage uprisings and
[6:24]revolutions or not as a Muslim am I allowed to resist my
[6:28]government using Force coming out in the streets demonstrating and protesting and
[6:34]at times using force in order to Stage these uprisings and revolutions
[6:40]or not am I obliged as a Muslim to say no to
[6:42]the dictator to the Tyranny or no I have to submit I
[6:47]have to stay quiet and I have to have patience and it's
[6:52]not my job to say no to the dictators and to go
[6:54]out in the streets and Stage an uprising and Revolution so what
[6:58]is Islam's view on this now when you come to the Sunni
[7:03]school of thought you find that almost there is a consensus between
[7:06]their that it is Haram for a Muslim to say no to
[7:12]an oppressive ruler if he's a Muslim if the ruler of is
[7:14]a Muslim then I have no right to Stage an uprising Revolution
[7:20]there's almost a consensus between them that we have we have to
[7:23]have patience it's not my business I have to have patience and
[7:25]Allah subhanahu wa taala will hold him accountable and Allah subhana tala
[7:31]will give me reward for having that patience and they narrates many
[7:37]from about this for example in oneith they narrates inl that told
[7:43]his companions one day that there will be rulers there will be
[7:54]om there will be leaders and rulers that will come in the
[7:57]future and these rulers will have some good things and they will
[8:02]have some bad things and then the prophet said that your job
[8:04]is to what is to submit you can't do anything about it
[8:10]you cannot say no to them and then the people told they
[8:12]the they asked should we not fight those people if they do
[8:19]Har those Muslims rulers the prophet according to this Hadith says no
[8:23]as long as they pray they can do whatever they want so
[8:28]they have complete immunity and another Hadith you find that's also narrated
[8:33]by Muslim and bukari you see that they narrate that one day
[8:40]he asked all of them to do to give to pay Allegiance
[8:43]and then he told them he asked them to promise him that
[8:49]they will never say no to any of the rulers that will
[8:51]come after him as long as that ruler does not outrightly disbelieve
[8:58]in Allah that according to theith says which means outright disbelief in
[9:04]Allah so as long as the ruler believes in Allah as long
[9:06]as the ruler says as then he has immunity then no one
[9:14]has the right to question him no one has the right to
[9:16]rebel against them we have to submit and Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
[9:19]will hold them accountable and that's why you see that across many
[9:26]of the Muslim nations this is how they teach the people their
[9:29]Scholars this is how they teach the people that no matter what
[9:32]happens you're not allowed to say no to the dictator and if
[9:37]you remember when the Egypt when the Egypt Uprising was unfolding you
[9:41]would find many of the many of the Sunni Scholars they would
[9:43]come out on satellites on TV newspapers on the internet and they
[9:49]would say it is Haram what you're doing is wrong you're not
[9:52]allowed islamically to Stage an uprising you cannot say no to theim
[9:57]to the ruler even if he's an oppressor because he says the
[10:01]shahad say because he's a Muslim and what's interesting is with Egypt
[10:04]this is what they said with Tunis what they said what with
[10:08]bah this is what they said but what happened in Syria all
[10:13]of a sudden they forgot about their principle and Syria you find
[10:17]the opposite happened they began to tell people do uprisings they began
[10:21]to tell people rebel they began to tell people that you have
[10:25]to say no because he's an oppressor wait a minute in Syria
[10:27]he's an oppressor and I have to Rebel but in Egypt he's
[10:31]an oppressor I don't I don't have to Rebel so you can
[10:32]see how personal interests come into the come into the equation and
[10:39]they forgot about their principles and you find that in some of
[10:42]the more conservative Muslim countries like Saudi Arabia you see that they
[10:46]teach the children at a a very young age that you have
[10:52]to always pay Allegiance and respect religiously that you have to pay
[10:56]Allegiance and you have to follow and submit to the to the
[11:03]ruler no matter who he is under all conditions because once at
[11:05]times I may come and I tell the people of my country
[11:10]that you have to pay Allegiance from a political view from a
[11:13]national view yeah nationally I pay my allegiance but what you find
[11:16]in Saudi Arabia no they tell them that you have to pay
[11:19]Allegiance religiously as well religious Allegiance as well and that's why anytime
[11:25]one of their King dies who is their IM they could they
[11:29]consider him their IM in religion anytime a King dies you find
[11:33]in the schools they all all the children have to give the
[11:36]that we give to our IM to they have to give to
[11:41]their King why so that they teach them from an early age
[11:43]that there is no way that you can Rebel no matter what
[11:47]the king does if he kills If he oppresses if he drinks
[11:51]if he commits all the Haram in the world as long as
[11:53]he prays as long as he prays in front of the people
[11:56]not even in his home as long as he prays in front
[12:00]of the people as long as long as he says the then
[12:01]you can no way Rebel and that's why I remember that if
[12:07]you remember of 10 about 10 years ago when Saddam Hussein was
[12:10]executed many of people in the Sunni World they were disappointed why
[12:18]because they used the same ideology that Saddam Hussein was a ruler
[12:21]and yes even if he was op pressor but the point is
[12:26]he said the Shah and because he said the Shah we have
[12:28]no right to kill him we have no right to overthrow him
[12:31]we have no right to topple him so you find this ideology
[12:34]it remates it shows throughout the Muslim world and what's very obvious
[12:41]to any samean person is that such a belief cannot be from
[12:47]Allah subhanahu wa taala Allah who is just Allah subhana wa tala
[12:50]who wants us to be just it doesn't make sense to any
[12:54]same person that the same just Allah he would order us to
[12:58]pay Allegiance and to follow and to submit to a ruler even
[13:05]if he's unjust this doesn't make sense yes now I can make
[13:08]a claim and say that your job is not to go out
[13:13]you don't have the right to go and rebel fine but at
[13:17]the same time I won't tell you go and accept go and
[13:19]pay Allegiance I can tell you that stay home and stay out
[13:23]of politics now that's you know maybe this is acceptable but if
[13:26]I say that no matter what the ruler does no matter how
[13:31]many crimes he does you have to pay Allegiance and you have
[13:34]to follow and accept him this doesn't make sense no sin he
[13:36]would being accept and what this shows us is obviously such a
[13:42]mentality and such a belief can only be fabricated by a ruler
[13:45]where did this belief come from from the rulers themselves because a
[13:48]ruler the most important thing thing to him is what is to
[13:52]stay in power especially if he's a king if he's a monarch
[13:54]if he's a a dictator the most important thing to him is
[13:58]to stay in power so how does he do that one of
[14:04]the best ways to do that is to use religion take advantage
[14:06]of religion and convince people that it is your religious obligation to
[14:11]submit to me even if I do whatever I do this will
[14:17]help him because even if a person doesn't like the king even
[14:19]if he doesn't like the ruler but he will accept him and
[14:23]submit to him because of what because of his religious Duty so
[14:26]obviously this shows you that such a belief it was fabricated by
[14:32]the rulers themselves the rulers that came such as Mu and the
[14:35]ones after him in order to what in order to stay in
[14:39]power and convince people that I have to stay in power no
[14:41]matter what I do even if I kill even if I drink
[14:44]even if I do whatever I do so this you find in
[14:49]the Sunni school of thought now when you come to the Shia
[14:52]school of thought you would think that contrary to the Sydney school
[14:58]of thought where they almost have a consensus where it is Haram
[15:00]to say no it is Haram to rebel and Stage an uprising
[15:05]you would think contrary to them the Shia have a consensus that
[15:08]you must say no that you have to rise and you have
[15:13]to stage in oppress an uprising and Revolution but that's not the
[15:16]case when you come to the Shia world you will find that
[15:21]this topic is a topic of disagreement between the there are that
[15:24]say that we have to Stage revolutions we have to Rebel we
[15:28]have to say no to the governments the evil governments but then
[15:31]again there are other that do not believe in this there are
[15:34]other that say that no this is not our job yes we
[15:38]don't pay Allegiance we don't go and join them we stay out
[15:42]of it we stay out of politics we sit in our houses
[15:43]so this is a controversial topic when it comes to the school
[15:49]of now you might say how is this controversial you might say
[15:52]that it's common sense it's very very simple and it's very clear
[15:54]that we have to say no to these evil governments and we
[15:58]have to rebel against them and you may use and some use
[16:02]these pieces of proof you may say that for example number one
[16:07]my tells me that I cannot accept the rule of a dictator
[16:13]why because my leave religion aside my intellect and my conscience tells
[16:19]me that Justice is good and oppression is bad and that I
[16:23]should try to uphold Justice and I should try to eradicate oppression
[16:26]my intellect and conscience tells me that no no one has to
[16:31]tell me that Allah subh does not have to tell me that
[16:32]I know that by myself so based on that since oppression must
[16:37]be eradicated and Justice must be upheld so my my intellect tells
[16:44]me that if the leader if the ruler is unjust then I
[16:47]have to say no to him because my tells me say no
[16:51]to and try to implement justice so I have to say no
[16:55]I have to rebel I have to try to get rid of
[16:59]that unjust ruler so you might say says that number one number
[17:02]two the Quran the Quran speaks about one of the most important
[17:06]duties of a Muslim what is it one of the most important
[17:15]duties of a Muslim is what is to enjoy the good and
[17:17]forbid the evil and amongst the greatest examples of a is that
[17:27]ruler because that ruler has power and he causes corruption and if
[17:31]he's unjust he will kill people he will oppress people he will
[17:38]steal other people's money and he will spread so obviously says that
[17:42]I have to forbid the evil and sometimes the only way I
[17:47]could forbid the evil is through Rebellion it's through Revolution it's through
[17:50]Uprising it's through saying no and that's why there's aith that says
[18:02]this is the mentality that a Muslim lives by if a person
[18:07]is a if a person isn't oppressed I have to be a
[18:13]supporter to that person how do I support that person I support
[18:16]that person by helping him in any way that I can and
[18:21]at the same time I have to be an enemy to the
[18:24]I have to be an enemy to the oppressor so this Hadith
[18:26]tells us that anytime there's a vol and he's oppressing people I
[18:29]have to support the people and I have to be an enemy
[18:32]of the thus I Rebel so this is the Quran and the
[18:37]Sunnah and likewise we understand based on the Quran and the Sunnah
[18:42]that it is an obligation upon us the Muslims to establish to
[18:47]establish and implement the laws of Allah subhanahu wa taala in this
[18:51]world the laws of Allah subhanahu waala are called the Shar so
[18:57]it is a role of us Muslims it is an obligation upon
[19:11]every Muslim and especially the scholars that they Implement and establish God's
[19:16]laws Allah subhana tala's laws in this dun they establish Islamic sh
[19:20]and Shar brothers and sisters is basically the laws of Allah subhanahu
[19:25]waala any laws that we have any laws of a Muslim is
[19:30]called called the Shar a way of life Shar means a way
[19:31]so our way of life our laws that are given to us
[19:36]by Allah is called Shar it is our job to implement sh
[19:40]on this and you find this word sh in the west many
[19:42]people they do not understand what it means it has a very
[19:48]negative connotation negative meaning for them they think Shar means kill Shar
[19:52]means cut the you know the head of other people sword and
[19:54]guns and killing and just punishing other people this is not what
[19:58]sh means is the laws of the Muslim when I pray this
[20:02]is a part of my of myah this is a part of
[20:07]my fasting is a part of my is a part of my
[20:10]sh going to is a part of my all the laws of
[20:14]and the foods I can eat and the foods that I can't
[20:18]eat this is all what is called Shar the laws of My
[20:20]Religion just like the Christians have their their laws that are called
[20:23]the Canon laws and just like the Jews that they have their
[20:27]TM and their livs we Muslims have laws and our laws are
[20:29]called the Shar and many people are ignorant of the Shar and
[20:36]if you remember there was a Christian priest that was trying to
[20:40]run the Quran a few years ago Terry Jones and in one
[20:46]incident there was a there was a debate on one of the
[20:48]American local channels between Terry Jones and between my father and Terry
[20:54]Jones was asked by the host why is it that you want
[20:59]to burn the Quran and his answer he's a priest so he
[21:03]should be knowledgeable so he said I am burning the Quran to
[21:08]protest so then the host he asked my father how do you
[21:15]reply to this guy so my father he gave him a very
[21:19]simple answer he told him Mr Jones can you first Define to
[21:22]me what is what Shar means that you're burning the Quran to
[21:25]protest what is Shar this guy Terry Jones he had no clue
[21:30]what Shar is he began to stumble and stutter well you know
[21:33]sh I'm not exactly sure what Shar is I'm not an expert
[21:37]in Islam but I know it's something bad can you imagine this
[21:39]is the answer of a priest it's like a 5-year-old kid it's
[21:43]something bad so my father began to laugh he said Mr Jones
[21:46]if you don't even know what Shar is how could you go
[21:50]and protest against the Quran and burn it while you don't know
[21:51]even what Shar is so Shar brothers and sisters is the way
[21:57]of life it's the laws of Allah subhanahu waala so according to
[22:00]this proof you might say that it is Our obligation and many
[22:05]say this it is Our obligation to implement Shar and the only
[22:09]way we can implement the Shar of Allah on this world is
[22:14]to establish an Islamic government because if the government is UN Islamic
[22:19]if the ruler is a dictator and he is someone that does
[22:21]not accept Islam or the laws of Islam even if he's a
[22:26]Muslim then obviously I will not be able to implement the laws
[22:28]of so the third proof why we are allowed to Rebel is
[22:33]so that we can establish the government of Islam so that we
[22:38]are able to implement Shar laws the laws of Islam and finally
[22:42]the final proof that you might say it's simple it's very obvious
[22:45]that we're able to rebel against a dictator against a vicious Tyrant
[22:52]is he's our role model IM Hussein rebelled against ya he AED
[22:59]an uprising a revolution against ya and he was martyred so if
[23:05]im Hussein is my role model then I follow in the footsteps
[23:10]of IM Hussein anytime there is a dictator anytime there is aim
[23:13]an oppressor I have the obligation to follow in the footsteps of
[23:20]IM Hussein and to rise and say no and to Rebel so
[23:22]you might say it's very simple based on these four pieces of
[23:27]De of evidence and proof that it is an obligation upon every
[23:31]Muslim to say no to theim and to rebel against that even
[23:37]if it requires and involves that I use force and resistance now
[23:43]not all accept this many they come to refute these arguments and
[23:49]they say that no during that we are not allowed to Stage
[23:56]any revolutions and rebellions many believe in this and they will come
[24:01]and they will refute every single one of these arguments and what
[24:05]these will tell you is that we accept the idea that we
[24:11]have to establish justice that we have to eradicate this world from
[24:15]we accept this we accept we have to get rid of anything
[24:20]that is evil we accept all of this and what they accept
[24:26]and what they will tell you is that we accept all all
[24:31]of this after the 12th IM reappears so they tell you that
[24:35]everything that you say we agree after the reappearance of the 12th
[24:41]IM yes all the agree that once the 12th IM reappears it
[24:45]is W upon everyone to rebel and join the Imam and it
[24:50]is W upon every single human being to join the forces of
[24:52]the Imam and to support the IM and to Rebel to the
[24:56]dictators everyone in agrees that after the Imam appears yes but the
[25:05]question is during when the IM is hidden when the IM is
[25:09]is an occultation is it also necessary upon us an obligation upon
[25:14]us to also Rebel and establish an Islamic government this is the
[25:18]question they will tell you the problem is we are in and
[25:24]has its own rules has its own special rules and they will
[25:27]tell you that there are we accept we should say no to
[25:33]the rulers we should say no to the oppressors and it is
[25:35]but however there is an obstacle and that obstacle is that there
[25:42]arei from our imams that explicitly tell us during do not Rebel
[25:46]so the imams prohibited us from rebelling during you're not allowed to
[25:51]say no the imams don't tell us like the sunnis go and
[25:56]pay Allegiance and tell them you're my IM no neither Rebel nor
[25:59]accept stay out of politics stay in your house and there are
[26:06]numerous by the imams to their teaching them that during it is
[26:12]not your obligation to rebel and to say no to the to
[26:16]the oppressors and I will read you to ath that these use
[26:21]like I said this is a controversial topic between the there's there's
[26:26]that say no we should Rebel even and establish governments there are
[26:31]other that say no so the that say we are not allowed
[26:35]to establish governments we're not allowed to Rebel during they say there
[26:40]are many and I will read two for you one from he
[26:45]tells one of his companions by the name of or he tells
[26:50]him he's telling sud and he's teaching all the sh a general
[27:09]principle he's telling him that your job is to stay in your
[27:11]house don't Rebel don't resist no revolutions no uprisings stay in your
[27:17]house until the Sani Rises until the Sani which we know he's
[27:24]the enemy of our 12th IM and he is the man that
[27:29]will mobilize all the enemies to fight the IM says whenever the
[27:34]suani Rises this is when you can Rebel before that you're not
[27:37]allowed so this shows us what that as long as the sufyani
[27:41]did not come and the sufyani obviously he comes a year or
[27:44]two three years before the Im so as long as the IM
[27:48]hasn't come as long as the IM hasn't reappeared according to this
[27:52]Hadith we have no right to Rebel Our obligation as followers of
[27:57]is to sit in our houses this is the second as well
[28:02]and thisi is stronger the IM says this says that every standard
[28:20]that will rise before the 12th IM before the 12th IM the
[28:24]Imam he will raise the standard and he will Rebel so any
[28:29]standard that is raised before the IM and any person that Rebels
[28:32]before the IM the IM says in this then that person is
[28:38]a devil so only a devil will Rebel before the 12th Im
[28:44]so this shows us that Our obligation is to wait the IM
[28:46]will have the authority the IM will have the honor of rebelling
[28:51]and establishing the Islamic government we did not so these two the
[28:56]that do not accept rebellion and say we have to sit in
[28:58]our houses they say these two hads are clear this is a
[29:06]clear prohibition from our IM our IM is telling us you are
[29:10]not allowed to resist you're not allowed to Rebel in once the
[29:14]IM appears yes this is when you're allowed this is number one
[29:17]and number two they will tell you these they will tell you
[29:23]that you cannot use IM Hussein as an example to say that
[29:28]I have to follow this with them why how many imams do
[29:31]we have how many IMS do we have any answers 12 12
[29:37]imams alhamdulillah we know our IMS so we have 12 imams how
[29:40]many of the 12 imams rebelled and how many of them didn't
[29:44]Rebel so far 11 imams have died how many of them rebelled
[29:51]only one there's only two imams that rebelled the first is IM
[29:55]Hussein and the second will Rebel Imam but of the 11 imams
[30:03]that died only one Rebel 10 they stayed in their houses they
[30:07]never rebelled they did not stage a revolution so you can't pick
[30:11]and choose you can't leave out 10 imams and you say im
[30:13]and Hussein rebell this is cheating so what they will tell you
[30:17]is we understand that we're not allowed to rebel and IM Hussein
[30:21]was a special criteria he was an exception the general rule is
[30:24]you're not allowed to Rebel you have to follow the other 10
[30:29]imams IM Al did not Rebel when his was taken IM did
[30:32]not Rebel he sat down when mu was ruling until IM none
[30:38]of them rebelled so why do I see IM Hussein only and
[30:44]I forget about 10 IMS so they will tell us that we
[30:46]have no right to rebel and likewise those that say that IM
[30:53]Hussein rebelled they will say not just IM Hussein there were many
[30:57]figures from or close Companions of Amed B that rebelled and tried
[31:02]to establish a government and the imams they authorized them the imams
[31:06]were happy with them they were satisfied with them for example the
[31:11]son of IM was not an IM he was the son of
[31:16]an Imam he rebelled he staged an uprising the revolution but unfortunately
[31:20]he was not successful he was killed and marted another example alar
[31:25]we've all heard of alar alar he went and retaliated and he
[31:28]rebelled and he tried to establish a government and number three during
[31:34]the time of IM there was one of the descendants of imass
[31:38]one of the descendants of IM Hassan and ironically his name was
[31:43]also Al Hussein his name was Hussein and his father was Ali
[31:47]and he was from the descendants of IM Hass he also rebelled
[31:50]and he lived during the time and they will tell you that
[31:55]IM authorized him so not only IM Hussein rebelled but you find
[31:59]that these are three other figures that they rebelled under the supervision
[32:03]of the and that's why we can also following their footsteps so
[32:09]these the second group of that say no when they come to
[32:11]the IM Hussein they say this is a special criteria we have
[32:15]10 other imams that never rebelled and when we come to we
[32:19]come to we come to they will tell you on the contrary
[32:24]when we come to we see that the imams were not happy
[32:26]with them the imams Never authorize them and that's why there are
[32:31]numerous in our books that speak against that speak against and that
[32:37]the imams were never happy with them so they will tell us
[32:41]based on this we understand that we are not allowed to Rebel
[32:46]we're not allowed to Rebel in the IMs prohibited us and especially
[32:49]when there is Bloodshed when there is Bloodshed when rebelling involves that
[32:56]blood from the followers of the debate is shed we have no
[32:59]right in authorizing that we have no right because when it comes
[33:04]to blood we have to always be cautious we always have to
[33:07]do so yes many of these will say if there is if
[33:12]there is any some will say if there is a peaceful way
[33:18]of rebelling yes peaceful way of rebelling yes you can but if
[33:22]it involves blood then we're not allowed to do that then it
[33:24]is Haram but then again there are other that say no even
[33:29]if it's peaceful we're not allowed why because the imams forbid us
[33:31]the imams they told us no they have prohibited us it doesn't
[33:37]matter whether there's blood or no blood so some say peaceful okay
[33:43]non peaceful Haram other say that all of it is har but
[33:46]the third group they say no we're always all allowed to Rebel
[33:52]even if it involves Bloodshed and this third group of they come
[33:56]to answer and refute that second that first group remember we answered
[34:00]we said the imam's prohibited we read to Hadith we said there's
[34:03]Bloodshed we said that IM Hussein is just one IM and we
[34:09]said Z and there areth that speak against them so some that
[34:13]accept that support rebellion in they come to refute those arguments what
[34:17]do they say they say number one that when we come to
[34:23]the Hadith these Hadith that we read when we come to these
[34:28]a Hadith we can refute them through four ways number one now
[34:33]I'm not taking any sides brothers and sisters I'm just presenting you
[34:37]the evidence and the two sides and there are now that accept
[34:42]this side that accept that side I'm just giving you what both
[34:45]sides say so these say that when it comes to these we
[34:51]can refute them in four ways the first way we can refute
[34:53]these is number one when we read this all thesei are according
[35:00]to these all these are so we cannot rely on these maybe
[35:03]they were fabricated maybe the rulers remember we said rulers they always
[35:07]try to make up AI to convince people not to do uprisings
[35:12]maybe these were fabricated by the rulers and they somehow entered our
[35:16]books so they don't want us to resist them so they say
[35:20]your Imam said this so that's number one the are number two
[35:23]they say that when it comes to the Hadith that says every
[35:26]standard that will be raised before the 12th IM that standard Bearer
[35:33]is a devil that person that reel Rebels before the IM is
[35:36]a rebel these say that this Hadith is only speaking about those
[35:43]that Rebel with a message that is different than the message of
[35:47]the 12th Im so the IM is speaking about those that Rebel
[35:52]and those people's message is different than the message of the Im
[35:55]so if my message is the same message of the IM I
[35:58]a follow over I invite people to Justice then theith does not
[36:04]apply to me this is speaking about those that try to establish
[36:08]a government and their views are different than the views of the
[36:12]views of the 12th Im so this does not apply to us
[36:14]if we want to rebel and we want to establish the government
[36:20]of this does not apply to us this applies to others that
[36:23]want to establish government other than that's number two number three many
[36:29]have stated that these the IM is not forbidding the Shia this
[36:34]is as they call it this is not the IM is not
[36:38]forbidding all he's doing is giving us means what means the IM
[36:45]is giving us advice he's not telling us it's Haram he's just
[36:48]when the IM tells sud sit in your house and only when
[36:52]sufyani comes this is when you go and fight the Imam is
[36:54]not forbidding him from rebelling the Imam is just giving him advice
[36:58]what is he telling him he's telling him look from now tell
[37:01]IM every attempt that you sh will make to make a government
[37:07]you're going to fail so why waste you can go and try
[37:09]it's not Haram but the IM is just giving us advice every
[37:14]attempt that you will make you will fail and if you and
[37:19]if you do achieve that if you are able to establish the
[37:22]government you will fail in implementing the true laws of Islam because
[37:26]there is no amongst you you are all fallible human beings and
[37:33]you make mistakes and the only person that can establish a true
[37:36]Islamic government is IMI so don't waste your time don't try he's
[37:39]telling you you can't you can't it's like I try I tell
[37:42]someone don't try to fly am I forbiding him no he's going
[37:44]to waste his time so the say the third point is that
[37:48]IM is just giving us advice don't waste your time your work
[37:51]your efforts will go feudal will go in vain either you will
[37:56]fail you'll be killed like Zade was killed like for example Shah
[38:00]was killed and IM Hussein was killed they were not successful in
[38:03]establishing Islam government and even if you do one day you will
[38:08]not be able to uphold the laws of Islam because there is
[38:11]no infallible but the 12th IM only an infallible is able to
[38:16]do that and to support this there is one Hadith that shows
[38:20]this and one Hadith is narrated said he says from now to
[38:46]the day of judgment anyone from the Shia who tries to Rebel
[38:48]who tries to Stage an uprising they will fail and not only
[38:52]will they will fail they will be killed they will be massacred
[38:55]and we instead of helping us they're going to make us more
[39:01]sad because we see our Shia are being killed so the IM
[39:03]is giving advice don't go because you can't it's only the IM
[39:09]that will be able to establish a powerful Muslim country and he
[39:11]will able to defeat the enemies so don't waste your time this
[39:15]is number three and number four they say that many say that
[39:21]this Hadith is not General this Hadith is not General the IM
[39:24]he is speaking about some people some opportunity who use slogans who
[39:31]use to rebel and they fool other people so the IM is
[39:34]basically issuing a warning he's he's telling s and he's telling his
[39:37]companions don't be deceived by anyone that says oh I'm rebelling to
[39:43]establish the government no because some of those people will be Crooks
[39:47]they'll be scams they will be Liars so be careful that's why
[39:50]he says anyone who brings out a standard before the Imam is
[39:55]a devil because he's trying to say most people that Rebel they
[39:58]Crux all they want to do is reach power they will lie
[40:02]to the people they will deceive and they will say yes we
[40:05]want to establish a Justice and they will never establish justice so
[40:07]the Imam is speaking about particular situations and particular incidents but however
[40:13]if I as a follower of truly want to establish my motives
[40:18]are sincere and I have Godly motives the IM is not speaking
[40:21]about me he's only speaking about the crooks and you found this
[40:24]happen uh throughout the years of the imams every couple of years
[40:31]someone either from the companions of the IM or someone from the
[40:34]family members but far family members of the imams they would go
[40:37]out and rebel and they would try to fool the people to
[40:42]come with them even though their only goal was just to reach
[40:44]power so the Imam says be careful not anyone that comes and
[40:49]lies to you and says I want to establish justice you go
[40:50]out with them you're going to get killed and even if you
[40:55]reach power you will find that this person will deceive you the
[40:58]only person that will not deceive you is the 12th Im so
[41:01]that's why he says wait till the 12th Im so he's not
[41:04]giving a bad he's just issuing a warning he's telling us be
[41:07]careful don't listen to anyone that claims I am rebelling and and
[41:10]trying to establish justice so this is with these and then they
[41:16]come to the imams remember we said those they refuted they said
[41:19]there's only one IM Hussein and there's other 10s that never that
[41:24]never uh staged any Revolution they will tell these they say that
[41:31]the reason why IM Hussein revolted wasn't because he was a special
[41:36]condition no they will say that we have a principle that we
[41:42]learn from our imams anytime the Imam has enough supporters and Islam
[41:46]is at stake he Rebels anytime he does not have the necessary
[41:49]supporters he sits in his house so why did IM Hussein Rebel
[41:54]not because he was something special no because IM Hussein had how
[41:58]many supporters he had over 70 supporters that's why he rebelled why
[42:01]didn't Rebel he himself he says when he was asked why didn't
[42:06]you go and fight those people that took your why didn't you
[42:13]fight them he himself gives a beautiful answer he [Music] says he
[42:25]says that I saw two ways in me two options either I
[42:30]go and fight and resist those people that you serve my but
[42:33]with a with a broken hand with a cut hand what does
[42:37]he mean there was no supporters I had to do it all
[42:41]by myself or I had to wait and I saw I can't
[42:43]do it by myself unless I use Miracles Allah doesn't want Miracle
[42:46]every day every day so it's because the people abandoned the he
[42:50]did not Rebel if he had supporters he would Rebel IM Hassan
[42:55]didn't have the supporters IM Hussein had the supporters so this is
[43:00]a general law whenever the IM would get those supporters enough supporters
[43:04]he would Rebel if not he would not all the other IMS
[43:08]of they did not have enough supporters brothers and sisters there's aith
[43:13]that says they used to come some of the sah tell them
[43:15]we're going to fight for you so he would tell them tomorrow
[43:19]in the morning I want to see you in such a place
[43:21]if you come we will fight 40 up to 40 or 50
[43:24]people would promise the IM the next day he would go he
[43:28]would see three to to four people you expect them to fight
[43:30]with three to four people three days consecutive days they would promise
[43:33]the IM they would abandon the IM they would promise the IM
[43:38]they would abandon and then you ask why didn't the IM Rebel
[43:40]and there's a from brothers and sisters that says the Hadith says
[43:46]that one day s the same companion he comes to IM and
[43:52]he's angered he tells the IM yeah IM until when will you
[43:55]sit and these dictators will rule you have have to rebel and
[44:01]I will support you and he tells him if had as many
[44:05]supporters as you had then would have definitely rebelled and revolted why
[44:10]don't you Rebel says how many how many do you think I
[44:13]have how many supporters you think I have he tells a 100,000
[44:17]he says huh 100,000 he says more 200,000 says 200,000 he says
[44:22]more half of the world is with you look at the exaggeration
[44:29]so he tells him come with me he goes and they travel
[44:32]to a place they want to pray there is a boy he
[44:37]has goats small goats around him the IM he looks at sud
[44:42]and he tells him y sud if I had this many supporters
[44:44]and he points to the goats as many supporters as these goats
[44:49]W I would Rebel and then s he says after Salah I
[44:51]went I counted there were 17 goats so the Imam says if
[44:57]I had 177 supporters I would the IM is saying don't be
[45:02]don't be fooled by numbers yes there are 100,000 how many people
[45:05]came on the first day to meet how many 18,000 a few
[45:12]days after how many were remain zero zero so when the time
[45:17]comes to take the sword and fight and rebel not everyone is
[45:19]willing yes there's many people that claim I am with the IM
[45:23]I will help him his name is a supporter but are they
[45:26]willing to support Imam to the last bread like the companions of
[45:31]IM Hussein where they said W if I were to be killed
[45:33]1,000 Times by The Sword for abdah I would not hesitate this
[45:39]is the type you want quality quantity does no good and that's
[45:42]why in another incident you find that there was a man an
[45:47]army General his name was AB Muslim and he was the most
[45:52]important Army General that led to the destruction of B and Ben
[45:55]abas coming to power before he went and struck a deal with
[46:00]he came to IM what did he tell IM he told him
[46:01]you become our you you're the grandson of he knows that this
[46:10]guy's Allegiance is not to me he'll sell me for so cheap
[46:11]tomorrow he'll abandon me he'll betray me and kill me so he
[46:16]knows that this is not of his men so what did he
[46:21]tell him he wrote him in one letter 34 words he tolds
[46:23]you're not amongst my men how can I trust you how can
[46:28]I trust you you're not amongst my men and this is not
[46:32]my time so what we understand according to these is there's a
[46:35]general principle if there are enough people to Rebel then we Rebel
[46:38]if not we don't and that's why some IMS rebelled and some
[46:43]didn't it's not a special condition so if in my time these
[46:45]say there is enough followers of and they want to establish justice
[46:51]then there is no problem in rebelling and finally we said there
[46:55]are that speak against Z that speak against m likewise these say
[47:00]there are other that speak of them in a good way that
[47:04]compliment them that praise them so there are conflicting about Z and
[47:09]they say that the that we have that the IM spoke against
[47:17]Z maybe the IM because obviously Z and are what are considered
[47:20]by the government as what as criminals they're considered as traitors because
[47:25]they have rebelled so can the IM come and outrightly say that
[47:30]I support them they'll go after the Im so the IM has
[47:32]to speak against them out of so that he's not accused of
[47:37]supporting this traitor So based on all of this brothers and sisters
[47:40]these they say no we have the right to Rebel we have
[47:45]the right to say no to theim and we have the right
[47:48]to Stage a revolution now which one is right the first side
[47:52]or the second side Allah only Allah subhanahu wa taala knows during
[47:57]the do we have the right to Rebel or do we not
[48:01]have the right to Rebel Allah subhah waala only knows but there
[48:07]is a disagreement between the I ask Allah subhanahu waala to accept
[48:12]all our to bless us and to give us the strength and
[48:15]the power that we continue fasting during the month of Ramadan and
[48:22]doing some of the must of the month of w [Music]
