[0:02][Music] The conquest of Mecca was one of the most pivotal moments

[0:23]in the history of Islam.

[0:24]It was not just a military victory, but also a profound symbol

[0:30]of the power of faith, forgiveness, and justice.

[0:31]This event marks a turning point in the struggle between the early

[0:35]Muslims and their enemies here in Mecca.

[0:39]The events that led to the conquest, and the way it was

[0:44]carried out offer timeless lessons in leadership, mercy, and the true strength

[0:48]of faith.

[0:50]In the years leading up to the conquest of Mecca, the Muslims

[0:53]had faced years of oppression, exile, and warfare.

[0:58]They had been driven out of Mecca in 62 CE.

[1:01]And for nearly a decade, the Holy Prophet Muhammad sallallah.aii wasallam and

[1:07]his followers endured persecution from Quraysh, the powerful tribe that controlled Mecca.

[1:12]Yet despite the hardships, the Muslims resolve only grew stronger.

[1:18]In 628 CE, the holy prophet peace be upon him and his

[1:21]family and Qur signed the treaty of Hudia, a peace agreement that

[1:26]although controversial to some, proved to be a strategic master stroke.

[1:30]It allowed the Muslims to practice their faith freely in many parts

[1:34]and paved the way for the eventual spread of Islam.

[1:39]However, the treaty was broken by Qur leading to the final showdown.

[1:46]In 630 CE, the situation changed dramatically.

[1:48]The Quraysh violating the peace treaty attacked the allied tribe of the

[1:54]Muslims, the Benu.

[1:54]This breach of the treaty gave the holy prophet sallall.aii wasam a

[2:01]legitimate course for action and the decision was made to march on

[2:05]to Mecca.

[2:07]The holy prophet called for the mobilization of his companions.

[2:10]This was no ordinary campaign.

[2:12]The Muslims were not just fighting for land or power.

[2:18]They were fighting to uphold justice and to rid the holy city,

[2:21]this holy city of the idolatry that had taken root there.

[2:26]The holy prophet peace be upon him and his family knew that

[2:28]this conquest was not about revenge, but rather the victory of truth.

[2:32]Therefore, the holy prophet gathered a force of approximately 10,000 Muslims, one

[2:37]of the largest armies in Islamic history up to that point.

[2:42]With this massive force, he began the journey to Mecca.

[2:45]What is remarkable about this army was not just its size but

[2:51]the diversity of its ranks.

[2:53]Muslims from all walks of life joined the cause.

[2:57]The strength of the unity was a testament to the power of

[3:00]faith.

[3:00]The holy prophet sallallah.aii wasallam kept the movement of the army secret

[3:06]marching under the cover of night to catch by surprise.

[3:09]This was a strategic decision.

[3:12]The Holy Prophet knew that if the Quraysh had time to prepare,

[3:16]they might resort to violence which could lead to unnecessary bloodshed and

[3:21]loss of life.

[3:24]Instead, he sought to enter Mecca peacefully without conflict.

[3:26]As the Muslim army approached Mecca, Quraysh were alarmed.

[3:31]They had no idea that the Holy Prophet peace be upon him

[3:35]and his family would bring such a large force.

[3:38]They attempted to negotiate but the holy prophet peace be upon him

[3:41]and his family remained resolute in his mission for justice.

[3:46]On the 20th of Ramadan in 6:30 CE the Muslims reached the

[3:51]outskirts of Mecca.

[3:53]The holy prophet had already made it clear that the idols in

[3:56]and around the Cabba would be destroyed and Mecca would once again

[4:01]become the center of monotheism.

[4:06]Upon entering the holy city, the holy prophet Muhammad sallall.aii alaihi wasallam

[4:10]declared an amnesty for the meccans who would not resist and placed

[4:16]some conditions.

[4:15]He gave them a chance to accept Islam and those who did

[4:21]were spared.

[4:20]Mecca, the city of the birth of the holy prophet would now

[4:26]be the city of triumph.

[4:26]Once inside the city, the holy prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam gathered the

[4:31]people of Mecca here at the Kaa.

[4:33]He addressed them with mercy and compassion, showing that Islam was not

[4:37]about conquest, but about transformation and peace.

[4:41]He asked, "Oh people of Mecca, what do you think I will

[4:45]do to you today?" The Qur in a state of fear responded,

[4:47]"You are a noble brother and the son of a noble brother."

[4:52]The holy prophet sallall.aii Alaihi Wasallam replied, "Go for you are free."

[4:58]With this sallallahu alaihi wasallam pardoned the very people who had oppressed

[5:04]him and his followers for years.

[5:05]It was an act of extraordinary mercy.

[5:08]The holy prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam and his companions then proceeded to

[5:13]remove the idols from the Kaa and this was led by the

[5:19]holy prophet and the commander of the faithful which was the act

[5:24]of purifying the sacred sanctuary and returning it to its rightful state

[5:28]as the house and the place of the worship of Allah alone.

[5:32]The Kaa the holiest site in Islam was now free of idols.

[5:35]It would again be a place where the call to the one

[5:40]God Allah Akbar would echo.

[5:40]The city of Mecca was cleansed spiritually and physically from the idolatry

[5:45]that had taken hold for centuries.

[5:47]After the conquest, the people of Mecca began to accept Islam in

[5:51]large numbers.

[5:53]And Allah subhana wa ta'ala revealed chapter 110.
