[0:00][Music] alhamd so what do we do in this case how do

[0:40]we avoid being arrogant what are the ways what are the solutions

[0:45]are there any solutions does the prophet and his Noble family direct

[0:51]us to some solutions to some practical steps to avoid being arrogant

[1:01]to protect ourself against this very contagious any very dangerous very dangerous

[1:08]disease which is arrogance which is or what do we do the

[1:19]Hadith says God has established the prayers and he emphasized there is

[1:30]so much emphasis on establishing the prayers why because when you bow

[1:39]down see in other Traditions maybe they kneel down but they don't

[1:44]bow but in Islam there is bowing Ru and there is a

[1:53]prostration sujud so you lower yourself before God and imagine when you

[1:58]do that 17 ra a day in each raak in each unit

[2:02]there is one bowing and two prostration you keep doing that in

[2:10]the Morning Noon afternoon after Sunset night you teach yourself a lesson

[2:17]that I am not the greatest god is the greatest I am

[2:24]only the slave of God the servant of God I am a

[2:26]very humble creature of God when you humble yourself before God so

[2:33]the real prayers my friends the genuine one not the mechanical one

[2:38]unfortunately allow me to say this that many of the prayers that

[2:43]people perform are mechanical not spiritual mechanical means they stand they bow

[2:54]they sit they prostrate again they stand they do the same thing

[3:00]and then conclude and they go home but they draw no benefit

[3:03]many of them they don't draw any benefit from these prayers but

[3:10]the prayers that we really benefit from it just like the medicine

[3:13]some people take medicine which is expired it doesn't work has been

[3:21]expired for 10 years so it has no effect not only doesn't

[3:25]have an effect it could harm the prophet says the same about

[3:28]the prayers the prophet says if you do not draw benefit out

[3:33]of this prayers it would hurt you the same prayers not dancing

[3:37]not drinking the same prayers is going to hurt you but if

[3:40]the prayer is not mechanical we put our effort we put our

[3:46]focus our concentration we humble ourselves even when you the way you

[3:51]stand you don't stand arrogantly you humble yourself put your head down

[3:58]it's recommended that when you stand in the prayers to look down

[4:02]at the place of prostration to look down there at that point

[4:09]and in the school of alhamdulillah we can see the spot of

[4:13]prostration because we prostrate according to the prophet and his teachings on

[4:18]the dirt the solid dirt the turba so put your eyes there

[4:23]not left or all right this is the successful indeed prosperous indeed

[4:40]are those who humble themselves there is reverence in their prayers reverence

[4:48]so this is one of the things take care of your prayers

[4:53]the more you take care of your genuine prayers not mechanical not

[4:56]the routine thing that you are learned to do don't take take

[5:00]it for granted every prayers is a special one the more you

[5:07]do that the more you humble yourself the prophet sallallahu alaih wasallam

[5:13]says there is another practical way of avoiding arrogance when you go

[5:28]to the marketplace and you buy something I know some people have

[5:31]servants I lived in some countries where when you go you have

[5:40]a chaur driver servant chef and when you go to the market

[5:43]two people they walk behind you they carry the the shopping but

[5:49]the prophet says it's a beautiful if you carry the shopping yourself

[5:53]to humble yourself to avoid being arrogant I see some in the

[6:00]news sometimes some leaders presidents they carry their their their suitcase they

[6:06]carry it with them climbing the airplane they carry it I I

[6:10]love this gesture I don't care who's he or she I don't

[6:16]look at their name or their you know uh religion or their

[6:20]political party but the gesture itself is is a beautiful you carry

[6:26]your own thing with your own hand to humble yourself one day

[6:29]the prophet went to the Bak the cemetery of Bak to pay

[6:33]tribute to the deceased all of a sudden he stood and then

[6:43]he looked behind and he said to the companions who are walking

[6:49]behind him go in front of me move in front of me

[6:52]so they moved and he started walking behind them when he was

[6:58]asked yahool Allah what did you do he said when I was

[7:03]entering the I heard the tapping of the feet the shoes of

[7:05]those companions he says I was worried I was afraid that I

[7:19]the messenger of God I would be affected infected by arrogance because

[7:29]some people are walking behind me as an Entourage so I stopped

[7:34]and I asked them to move in front of me I don't

[7:38]want anyone to walk behind me I don't like what I see

[7:41]again some of the clips and that happens in religious cities and

[7:47]that happens with some religious leaders I'm not speaking about political leaders

[7:52]or artists or singers or Hollywood stars sometimes with some reciters he's

[8:02]a reciter chanter 50 people walk with him in front of him

[8:06]behind him what happened this is not good this is not good

[8:11]for you even if you have admirers and people love you and

[8:14]you have followers you shouldn't accept that because you cannot resist arrogance

[8:21]and the prophet finally says these are also practical ways of preventing

[8:27]and avoiding arrogance he says of course nowadays you don't have a

[8:33]goat to milk it but in the old days you yourself your

[8:39]you milk your goat and instead of that today if you don't

[8:45]have a goat or a sheep do the dishes help your wife

[8:49]vacuum the house you as a great man even if you are

[8:54]a scholar even if you are rich even if you are super

[8:59]busy once in a while do these things he patches his shirt

[9:06]he repairs his shoes he sit with his servants and he eats

[9:13]with them on the same table when he goes to shopping he

[9:20]carries the bags that is the best way of protecting yourself from

[9:31]arrogance may Allah guide us all to the straight path may Allah

[9:36]protect all all of us during the holy month of Ramadan from

[9:43]acts of arrogance from the behavior of arrogance from any thoughts from

[9:52]any motions from any behavior from any sayings that lead us to

[10:00]become arrogant Al
