[0:00]in the name of god the compassionate the merciful and peace be

[0:07]upon god's apostles messengers and prophets muslims many christians would be surprised

[0:14]to learn make no distinction as to the prophetic capacity and divine

[0:23]mission of all prophets and messengers and yet one of the most

[0:27]revered prophets and routinely cited angelic men as jesus of nazareth in

[0:35]the holy quran he is mentioned by name in multiple chapters islamic

[0:39]scripture instructs us to quote believe in him then incredibly god declares

[0:47]i will make those who follow you superior to those who reject

[0:54]faith until the day of resurrection god says to jesus we raised

[0:59]high the esteem in which you are held the magnanimity of his

[1:05]character is recognized time and again throughout the quran called quote a

[1:09]witness god's messenger a righteous apostle god's word his spirit the messiah

[1:16]a sign of god and numerous other epithets of honor spread over

[1:23]15 chapters of the quran he is quote honored in this world

[1:28]and the next and of those who are granted nearness to god

[1:32]jesus is quote supported with the holy spirit and was a miracle

[1:38]worker by god's command but one of his greatest miracles found exclusively

[1:44]in the quran was speaking eloquent words of wisdom and exhortation as

[1:51]he lay in his crib [Music] he said indeed i am the

[2:02]servant of god he has given me the scripture and made me

[2:08]a prophet by speaking in the crib god eviscerated the allegations of

[2:13]the monks forever and established the lofty status of this child until

[2:18]the end of time imam ali the prophet muhammad's son-in-law and appointed

[2:28]successor he provides this description of jesus he says if you desire

[2:34]i will tell you about jesus the son of mary he used

[2:40]the stone for his pillow put on coarse clothes and ate rough

[2:47]food his condiment was hunger his lamp at night was the moon

[2:51]his shade during the winter was just the expanse of earth eastward

[2:56]and westward his fruits and flowers were only what grows from the

[3:05]earth for the cattle he had no wife to allure him nor

[3:07]any sun to give him grief nor wealth to deviate his attention

[3:13]nor greed to disgrace him his two feet were his conveyance and

[3:21]his two hands his servant another beautiful description is by jesus himself

[3:29]but this time as quoted by the eighth imam ali ibn musa

[3:34]my food jesus is quoted to have said is what grows from

[3:39]the soil for livestock my drink is what can fill my hand

[3:43]from river water my lantern is the moon my bed is the

[3:46]sand my pillow is a rock my clothes are from animal hair

[3:51]i have no son who dies nor a woman who is saddened

[3:56]nor a house that falls apart nor money that vanishes i am

[4:02]the richest man jesus said among the children of adam as highlighted

[4:07]in this brief yet incredible description the most unmistakable feature of jesus

[4:14]was his asceticism and utmost disregard for pomposity or transient pleasures of

[4:21]this world being detached from material thrills brought jesus as close a

[4:28]leader can get to his flock a key requirement of a true

[4:32]champion of the oppressed and if he departed this world from the

[4:36]door of the corporeal he re-entered the realm of humankind through the

[4:43]hearts of countless men and women it is no wonder then that

[4:47]the vast majority of people around the globe today set their annual

[4:54]calendars according to his birthday it is no wonder that jesus is

[4:58]loved and cherished by just over half the world's population including muslims

[5:05]of all denominations such is the irony of life on earth that

[5:08]living in extreme simplicity free from indulgence turns this persecuted middle eastern

[5:15]fatherless carpenter into the definition of vivacity and one of the most

[5:21]recognized names in the entire world in addition to our shared belief

[5:27]in god jesus is the greatest and most promising common bond between

[5:32]islam and christianity it may surprise many christians that despite the many

[5:38]doctrinal differences the one creator jesus and his mother mary are areas

[5:45]of significant overlap which must be given their due attention yet let

[5:49]me say this by far one of the greatest distinguishing features of

[5:56]jesus that we share with christians is his second coming in a

[6:01]dramatic series of events he will return to earth alongside the mahdi

[6:07]the final savior who was actually a blood relative of christ the

[6:12]islamic messiah's mother is a roman princess and a descendant of the

[6:18]apostle peter jesus first cousin and appointed heir his father is the

[6:23]11th shia imam and direct descendant of godly prophets and messengers now

[6:31]this isn't an accident of birth but a calculated divine plan to

[6:34]create a global identity for a universal mission of cosmic proportions the

[6:42]two abrahamic bloodlines of isaac and ishmael jesus and muhammad are meeting

[6:46]for the very first time in history producing the total sum of

[6:51]divine manifestation and the epitome of celestial justice to that end the

[7:00]mahdi isn't aiming to replace the judeo-christian messiah he's not here to

[7:04]replace jesus he will be accompanied by jesus who plays a pivotal

[7:09]role in his messianic assignment most notably jesus will be an arbiter

[7:13]who brokers a peace treaty between the mahdi's domain based in iraq

[7:19]and encompassing the east with christendom based in the west and led

[7:26]by the son of mary himself the point of this is to

[7:29]know that the world will belong to divine prophets as god states

[7:38]in the holy quran before this we wrote in the psalms god

[7:46]says after the message in other words the torah which was given

[7:52]to moses we have written in those my righteous slaves shall inherit

[7:57]the earth let us pray my dear brothers and sisters on this

[8:00]blessed day that we will be part of that mission let us

[8:04]strive to serve god's righteous slaves and help them achieve those divine

[8:11]goals let us pray that we live to see the luminous faces

[8:14]of jesus and the mehdi praying in unison and holding the flag

[8:20]of virtue justice and kindness as they rid the world of oppression

[8:27]and evil once and for all
