[0:09][Music] Al muhamad my dear brothers and sisters [Music] the life of
[0:55]f as we commemorate her martydom tonight could be theoretically divided into
[1:06]three major segments in the first segment it begins with her birth
[1:15]till the day she migrated from Mecca to Medina alongside her father
[1:21]respected father our holy prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi Ali wasallam she was
[1:31]born in Mecca her father is the prophet her mother is Khadijah
[1:36]Khadijah is the first wife of the Prophet sallallahu alaihi Ali wasallam
[1:40]and the most honorable wife of the Prophet for many years after
[1:48]her departure the prophet kept remembering khad and that was when he
[1:54]was remarried he would say every time her name is mentioned he
[2:00]says khad why khad where can I find someone like Khadijah and
[2:06]then he continues she believed me when no other people believed in
[2:16]Islam and in my mission and she believed when most people were
[2:30]cafir non-muslims and they chose to be that way she gave me
[2:39]all her wealth when nobody else offered their wealth to me and
[2:52]Allah gave me through her children boys and girls when other women
[2:58]didn't give me those children one wife of the Prophet would be
[3:07]those words would trigger in her some insecurities that she would object
[3:14]to the prophet she would tell him how long you keep remembering
[3:20][Music] her for how long you keep remember remembering an elderly woman
[3:35]who died and God replaced her with someone better referring to herself
[3:39]the prophet says no no no you're wrong Allah never replaced me
[3:47]with another better wife by far she Remains the best wife of
[3:53]the Prophet sallallahu alaihi Al and in fact in one Hadith the
[4:00]prophet sallallahu alaihi Al wasam underscoring the role khad played in the
[4:06]early history of Islam he [Music] says there are two pillars for
[4:18]Islam on which Islam was established one is the sword of Al
[4:26]Talib the second pillar on which Islam was established was the weal
[4:31]of Khadijah that she put entirely at the disposal of her [Music]
[4:58]husband six children Allah gave to the prophet through two boys who
[5:18]both died while infant and four girls Zab rum and fatah all
[5:29]historians all all historians with no exception confirm that fatimat zah was
[5:36]the most beloved child of the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasam and there
[5:44]are numerous Hadith numerous narrations narrated by Muslims both sunnis and Shia
[5:51]and inshallah there is no difference between sunnis and Shia we are
[5:55]all Muslims and we always need to highlight the fact that we
[5:58]are all Muslims and we all believe in one religion and we
[6:04]pray to the same Kaa and we believe in the same Quran
[6:10]both sunnis and Shia agree that faat zah was the favorite of
[6:14]the Prophet she was his favorite child now let me bring this
[6:20]to your attention my dear brothers and sisters that the prophet was
[6:24]not a normal person he was a human being he was a
[6:27]normal human being but he was not a normal person meaning you
[6:33]and I could be motivated by our own personal likings you may
[6:38]like someone you may dislike someone but those emotions of yours could
[6:43]be solely based on your sometime objective and sometime subjective views well
[6:51]you like him you like this guy because he's more handsome you
[6:57]like this person because he gives you more cash you dislike someone
[7:06]simply because he doesn't look so handsome most people they do not
[7:12]do not base their they do not base their feelings on objective
[7:19]reasons and that's why many of us are biased in our feelings
[7:26]whether towards our friends even our family members you find parents choosing
[7:35]one son over others why no reason for that the only reason
[7:39]is because probably he is the first child in the family or
[7:45]he knows how to sweet talk or some other considerations but remember
[7:51]the prophet was the most just person in fact the prophet was
[7:56]infallible he would not be motivated by his subjective feelings simply because
[8:02]there are no subjective feelings for the prophet sallallah alai and the
[8:08]Quran confirms that la Allah chose and that's why she was the
[9:14]favorite for the prophet that is the conclusion I'm trying to make
[9:20]that the prophet sallallahu alaihi Al wasallam was just not was not
[9:25]a biased parent just like many of us the reason he chose
[9:32]Fatima because Allah chose Fatima for who she was for her qualities
[9:38]Crystal and Stiller qualities that's why in so many speaks highly of
[9:51]f but there is one Hadith stands out about fatat zah in
[9:58]which he said says fa Fatima is the mother of her father
[10:06]in what sense she was his F his mother remember the prophet
[10:13]was born orphan he wasn't born orphan he had a mother but
[10:17]she died afterward when he was four or five years old so
[10:21]he was raised orphan who would compensate for the love he needed
[10:29]so much his daughter Fatima who would care about him like a
[10:34]mother caring about her child F even though she was so small
[10:44]so young but the love she showed toward her father the affection
[10:49]she had for her father was like a mother taking care of
[10:54]her child in one scene the prophet sallallahu alaihi Ali wasallam was
[11:02]in Mecca praying and I can go on and on and tell
[11:07]you the the severity of persecution the prophet sallallahu alaihi Al wasam
[11:15]in disrespect he had to endure by mechans so much so that
[11:22]he says in one line he says no Prophet no no Prophet
[11:32]has been subjected to persecution and suffering as much as I have
[11:43]been by his people they waged a very nasty psychological and physical
[11:53]Warfare against the prophet sallallahu alaihi Ali wasallam in Mecca was psychological
[11:57]and sometime physical in Medina it turned into an allout War so
[12:04]in Mecca they would harass the prophet every time they see him
[12:10]one day the prophet was in the Masjid Haram in meca praying
[12:13]when he went to suud and those gangers mechans the infidels they
[12:21]would gather around the prophet sallallahu alaihi was mocking him laughing at
[12:27]him making fun of him and finally the one of them Abu
[12:37]jahal takes some filth some filth and he throws it on the
[12:40]prophet sallallahu alaihi Al while he was doing suud and not only
[12:47]that he would go near the prophet and he put his filthy
[12:53]feet on the neck of the Prophet while the prophet was prostrating
[12:56]and he presses on and on and on on the neck of
[13:02]the Prophet so much so that the prophet almost choked up and
[13:06]died nobody nobody nobody at all would dare to do anything there
[13:15]was one guy who would do something and that was Imam Ali
[13:18]but he was not at the place at the scene at that
[13:24]time at that moment Abdullah Mas a senior companion of the prophet
[13:30]sallallahu alaihi Al wasam who was an eyewitness he says when I
[13:34]saw that I rushed to the house of Fatima who was eight
[13:40]or n year old I told her what's going on with her
[13:46]father she came out running coming to the Masjid yelling at those
[13:51]kufar and humiliating them so they backed down and they backed off
[13:55]from the prophet sallallahu alaihi Ali wasallam and they stopped their harassment
[14:03]the outpouring love fa had for her father was unmatched and Par
[14:12]and unparallel with any other love then comes the second segment of
[14:20]her life that was when the prophet sallallah wasam moved to Medina
[14:25]now I need to remind you also that fatat zah just before
[14:31]migrating to Medina probably a year prior to migrating to Medina when
[14:35]she was still young she lost her mother and she became an
[14:43]orphan herself and that was a devastating news for fa zah to
[14:48]lose a mother like Khadijah a loving mother like Khadijah a devoted
[14:53]wife to the prophet like Khadijah so that had a great toll
[15:03]on F zah the loss of her mother but there is always
[15:12]something that brings comfort and serenity to her life and to her
[15:16]heart and that was having a loving father like Prophet Muhammad sallallahu
[15:22]alaihi Al wasallam so she migrated with the prophet obviously the prophet
[15:31]first migrated by by himself he asked IM Ali to join him
[15:35]and bring F zah so he brought the daughter of the prophet
[15:45]and FAA his mother fa the mother of IM Ali was probably
[16:29]21y old fat zahra's age there is so much a controversy among
[16:38]Scholars on her age when she got married some say she was
[16:45]9y old some go all the way to 18 but according to
[16:51]the most trusted Scholars she was around 13 or 14y old when
[16:56]she married IM ALB IM Ali came came to the prophet proposing
[17:03]for faa's hand but out of shyness he was speechless he couldn't
[17:09]say a word he sat next to the prophet lowering his head
[17:13]down the prophet immediately realized the purpose of his visit he says
[17:23]I think you came asking for Fatima's hand now I had to
[17:32]remind you that before Amir asks for faa's hand the senior Companions
[17:36]of the Prophet Abu Bakr Omar abdb they all came asking for
[17:45]faa's hand the prophet had one answer for all of them it's
[17:53]not my decision it's not in my hand it is in God's
[17:58]hand he he will decide whom she will marry that would the
[18:01]answer that would be the answer the prophet gives all those who
[18:08]came asking for faa's hand in fact one of them ABD rman
[18:11]was an extremely wealthy businessman he told the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam
[18:20]anything you want any DIY you ask for I am willing to
[18:23]give for FAA the prophet turned his face indica his resentment and
[18:31]his objection to what he proposes I am telling you it's not
[18:39]in my hand her decision is in Allah's hand and you're offering
[18:43]me some money you're bargaining with the prophet you think the prophet
[18:48]is about to bargain with people over money that was the mentality
[18:55]that some people had and how they acted with the prophet s
[19:56]the prophet waited for Revelation and jibrail came and jbra told the
[20:04]prophet yahool Allah Allah sent a Salam to you and he tells
[20:07]you marry Fatima off with aliam and that's what the prophet did
[20:13]and the prophet asked Amir what kind of dowy he would offer
[20:21]not because he was interested in in in a doy simply because
[20:26]dowy is a symbol symbolic Act of appreciation it's a token of
[20:31]appreciation and love presented by the husband to his wife the prophet
[20:38]asked Imam Ali what do you have Imam Ali says I have
[20:44]three things that's all my possession in this world one is my
[20:49]sword two is my shield that he uses in the his armor
[20:56]that he uses in the battlefield the third one Imam Ali owned
[21:06]what is n is a camel that is used to carry water
[21:13]from one area to another that is the specific purpose of that
[21:18]uh camel to move water like a tanker from one area to
[21:27]another Arabs call that kind of camel n why because Amir used
[21:32]to work he used to work he would go to those farms
[21:39]around Medina he would get water out of the well and move
[21:42]it to another area and he would be paid by Farmers Amir
[21:47]was not someone who would become a burden in the community asking
[21:51]for charity he would work himself so this is what the prophet
[21:59]sallam says to him you don't need the armor because Imam Ali
[22:13]was a powerful Brave man who didn't need an armor in the
[22:21]battlefield your camel you need it you need it for your livelihood
[22:27]for your for your work you need it and your sword we
[22:39]need your sword Islam needs your sword so out of those three
[22:43]things you Al need your camel Islam needs your sword the extra
[22:51]is your armor you can sell it and pay the dowy Imam
[22:55]Ali sold his armor for 500 silver silver silver Dirham every silver
[23:05]Dirham equals 4 G so you make the calculation roughly it is
[23:10]around today's value is around 750 to $1,000 IM with which Imam
[23:17]Ali sold his armor and he brought the money and he gave
[23:20]it to the prophet and that became the Mahar F zah and
[23:25]in fact that in became M Muslims were encouraged once they marry
[23:34]or they marry their daughters off that they ask for Mah don't
[23:42]exceed Mah don't ask for more than 500 silver Durham so as
[23:47]of today I know Many religious families once they they they uh
[23:53]uh have marriages in with within the family and they are about
[24:00]to set a doy for their children they set the doy of
[24:06]f Mah because that's how did with his daughter and that's what
[24:11]he encouraged Muslims to do that Mahar Dar is not a prize
[24:18]tag it is not something you use to highlight your prestige or
[24:22]your social uh status Mahar is something symbolic and Muslims should not
[24:30]exaggerate about it and says the best women in my community are
[24:44]those who ask for less dowy less married IM in a simple
[24:59]house with simple Furniture very simple Furniture her bedroom was not furnished
[25:08]by any rug or any carpet raml some sand Amir put some
[25:12]sand on the floor a simple mattress and simple furniture that is
[25:21]all fatat zah had at her house and she is the daughter
[25:27]of rasool Allah and remember also my dear brothers and sisters rasool
[25:31]was not a private citizen he was a head of state he
[25:35]was a head of state equivalent to a president or King today
[25:40]but his daughter the prophet was insisting that his daughter would have
[25:45]the most the most humble wedding and the most humble marriage so
[25:52]Muslims do not exaggerate today when we look we see some people
[25:56]some young men who are in desperate need of getting married they
[26:00]don't get married why because they cannot afford it they have to
[26:08]go and book a banquet H hall for 1,000 person each person
[26:17]cost minimum today what $60 $70 I saw in some what I
[26:22]know in some weddings $100 so only the wedding would cost minimum
[26:27]minimum the dinner and the wedding would cost $100,000 simply because they
[26:35]cannot afford that much they they don't they refrain from getting married
[26:40]when Islam insists make it easy for your children don't put new
[26:47]obstacles let them get married and make it easy for them to
[26:51]get married and do not exagerate about those formalities having a huge
[26:56]expensive what in having a huge dowy those are all practices that
[27:06]Islam utterly reject I go back to F she spent nine years
[27:13]with the most beautiful marital life between and very peaceful Amir was
[27:27]a very loving husband he loved his wife that when she would
[27:31]when he would come home tired and fatigued and stressed out all
[27:39]his stress all his fatigue would go away when he sees faat
[27:43]Zahra the most humble loving and devoted wife even though her husband
[27:48]her father is rasool Allah the most honorable man and by that
[27:55]she is the most honorable woman but she always always treated her
[28:01]husband with much respect and with much love and reciprocated reciprocated he
[28:10]respected fat zah a lot and he loved her so much and
[28:17]based on that they had a very beautiful Serene life together for
[28:26]9 years often Amir comes from the battle field and it is
[28:31]who would tend to his wound after the battle of sustained over
[28:40]60 injuries 60 injuries imagine now imagine in your mind a body
[28:48]with 60 injuries that means almost no point in his body that
[28:54]did not sustain an injury so in one Hadith he was a
[29:03]a scholar a companion says his body was bleeding all together the
[29:10]entire body if you put your finger anywhere he was a bleeding
[29:18]f z would burn some straws and she would put she would
[29:23]put the ashes on the wound so they would heal she would
[29:29]take care of her husband's wound andai wasam visits IM Ali and
[29:37]watching his wounds and watching blood coming out of his wounds bleeding
[29:40]heavily tears were flowing on the cheek of the prophet and he
[29:53]says a man who sustained that many injuries he would have done
[30:00]his best for the sake of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala but one
[30:05]thing that always made fat zah so happy so joyful that she
[30:13]had a father who loved her not a day passes without rasool
[30:18]visiting faa's house not a day and when she had her children
[30:25]Hassan and Hussein that was was another incentive for the prophet to
[30:31]come to the F House of Fatima every single day every single
[30:34]day remember he was a busy man he was leading a country
[30:41]State he was a commander of on of CH Commander in Chief
[30:48]of an an army he was a prophet of Allah disseminating of
[30:53]message of Allah but yet he would find some time every day
[30:59]day to spend with his daughter faat zah as if that was
[31:06]his only joy in his life that was his only relief to
[31:08]come and see his daughter Fatima and her children sometime the prophet
[31:16]passes by the Hadith says the prophet passes by the house of
[31:21]Fatima in his way going somewhere so he hears Hussein crying he
[31:25]stops he changes his course and he goes to Fatima's house and
[31:33]he knocks in the door and Fatima opens the door and he
[31:40]says my daughter fa don't you know that I cannot hear Hussein
[31:49]crying I can't don't let him cry don't let him a cry
[31:52]that how loving the prophet was that he could not even withstand
[32:01]the cries of Hussein when he passes by his fa his daughter
[32:12]faa's house and you all aware of when the prophet comes to
[32:18]faa's house and he would gather FAA and her husband Ali and
[32:21]the two children Hassan and Hussein under one garment and then Allah
[32:29]subhana reveals the ayb Abbas a widely respected scholar in Islam he
[32:43]says I myself witness the prophet for eight months after the revelation
[32:49]of this Ayah eight months every single day after morning prayer the
[32:57]prophet comes to House of Fatima he knocks on the door he
[33:05]stands at the door he recite this ay after reciting the Ayah
[33:27]the prophet says oh you the household of the Prophet do you
[33:30]give permission to the do you give the permission do you give
[33:36]permission to the prophet of Allah to enter your house the prophet
[33:44]asked for permission to enter the house of his daughter Fatima he
[33:49]wouldn't enter without permission so FAA answers from inside the house my
[33:59]father the house is yours and the lady in the house is
[34:07]your daughter you don't need a permission why the prophet would do
[34:09]something like this why for every for every for every day for
[34:20]eight months the prophet would come every till the last of till
[34:23]the end of his life he would come every day to the
[34:29]house of father showing respect to Fatima and her and her children
[34:35]why because only the prophet knew who Fatima is Fatima to zah
[34:44]after her wedding the next day of her wedding the prophet came
[34:47]and paid a visit to her and for his surprise he wanted
[34:55]to see the wedding dress he asked his Fatima his daughter Fatima
[35:00]where is your wedding address she kept quiet and the prophet again
[35:12]asked my daughter Fatima where is your wedding dress I want to
[35:17]see it she says y rasool Allah today a lady came and
[35:23]she told me that she is marrying her daughter this week off
[35:29]and her daughter didn't have a wedding dress I gave her my
[35:34]wedding dressol listen to this my dear brothers and sisters this is
[35:42]why loved fat Z says he's testing he says you could have
[35:57]given her another dress why this one you know women would keep
[36:01]the wedding dress so dear to their heart because of the memory
[36:06]that it brings to their imagination so why did you give this
[36:12]one you had other dresses why you gave her this one she
[36:36]says yasol the reason I gave her my wedding address is because
[36:43]I read the Quran and I found the Quran saying you shall
[36:46]not attain the highest level of piety until you spend out of
[36:56]which you love out of which which you love not out of
[36:59]which you hate you see some of us everything we have every
[37:06]old dress we have we give it to charity I'm not saying
[37:08]that's a bad thing but why I would give the old why
[37:12]I don't give the new one because I love the new one
[37:16]I give the old one it has no purpose in my house
[37:18]so that's why I give it gives the best of her dresses
[37:25]because that's what the Quran aners if you want to give give
[37:30]the out of which you love not out of which you hate
[37:36]hugs and he says you are my real daughter never the prophets
[37:52]used this word for any other individual other than faat zah I
[38:00]wish I die for you fa wishing he would die for FAA
[38:07]that's how much he loved her and we go now to the
[38:16]third segment of her life and that was after the departure of
[38:21]her father I mentioned that her most happiest days were when she
[38:28]was in Medina under the love enjoying the love and affection of
[38:37]her father during her father's lifetime that was the most happiest time
[38:42]of faat zahra's life and the most saddest moment of her life
[38:50]began right after the death of her father she says abat she
[39:05]would come to the grave of the Prophet she take a fist
[39:10]of of the sand of his grave and she smells it and
[39:16]she says I use your s your sand of your grave as
[39:28]my fragrance and I don't no longer need any other fragrance to
[39:35]smell after having the soil of your grave and she was a
[39:42]crying day in and day out so much so that some people
[39:47]complain to IM Al AB Talib that your daughter your wife is
[39:51]bothering us with her cry bothering you and instead of showing love
[39:57]and sympathy and solidarity to the daughter of the Prophet you complain
[40:02]that she is crying so she decided Amir built a small shack
[40:13]for her outside Medina to which she goes every Wednesday of the
[40:19]week every Wednesday of the week she goes first to to visit
[40:27]the Tom of her uncle Hamza the Martyr and then she goes
[40:31]to that Shack taking her two children and she cries there so
[40:36]as not to bother the people of Medina she would spend time
[40:46]there crying and coming back home her Agony did not end there
[40:52]my dear brothers and sisters her biggest Agony began when people in
[41:04]Medina The Establishment they decided to invade her house bringing mobs to
[41:14]her house attacking the house of Fatima one famous com famous historian
[41:28]Nam ibba he he wrote in his book year 160 hijri that
[41:31]was 150 years after the demise of the prophet he says a
[41:38]big guy a big companion came to the house of Fatima calling
[41:43]on Amir to come out and give allegiance to Abu Bakr Imam
[41:49]Ali refused to come out and the man made a call a
[41:57]terrifying call he said say bring me some wood so I I
[42:08]can set fire in it and I burn all those people inside
[42:10]this house some people told this companion they told him do you
[42:17]know who is in the house do you know fa the daughter
[42:23]of the Prophet the woman the prophet says Allah is pleased this
[42:32]is what the prophet says Allah is utterly pleased when Fatima is
[42:37]pleased and Allah would be angry when Fatima is angry did you
[42:44]forget that the prophet says this he says no I didn't forget
[42:47]do you know that FAA is in the house so what so
[42:53]what I would burn the house with father in it for some
[44:17]historians say she died out of depression because of the agony uh
[44:23]she had and she was Miss her father I want to ask
[44:28]you my dear brothers and sisters life is is part death is
[44:35]part of life I mean since there was life on Earth there
[44:38]is death there was death have you seen any person dying dying
[44:43]because a relative died we grief and sometime we grief a lot
[44:51]but we don't die because someone died because my father died F
[44:57]zah did love her Father a lot and she grieved for her
[45:05]father but she was patient as well and she read in the
[45:07]Quran that Allah says to her father she knew her father is
[45:15]going to die it makes no sense to say she died out
[45:17]of depression and because she was missing her father and you may
[45:25]wonder why a young woman in her 20s in her 20 21
