[0:15][Music] f alhamdulillah [Music] [Applause] Muhammad for the purification of the souls
[1:26]the enlightenment of the hearts the acceptance of the deeds and for
[1:31]the hastening of the reappearance of Enlighten your souls and the atmosphere
[1:37]with the recitation of Sal upon muh muh respected Scholars Elders sisters
[1:49]and brothers this Quran Dua is found in chapter 25 amongst a
[2:03]number of superb qualities designated for the Servants of the all merciful
[2:09]it should be memorized understood but importantly it has connotations towards one's
[2:18]relationship as far as marriage and indeed parenting is concerned chapter 25
[2:24]Surah fan Ayah number 74 constitutes a favorite Dua for the especially
[2:43]we find in the book as well as a that says used
[2:53]to recite this Ayah frequently this was a Dua that was beloved
[2:56]to the commander of the faithful and it's a Dua of great
[2:59]import importance for each and every one of us because it has
[3:06]a theological basis it has a spiritual Dimension as well as a
[3:09]social element for you and I to understand of the utmost importance
[3:15]is the memorization of this Dua and the recitation of this Dua
[3:20]whenever possible indeed today we find our have said those who are
[3:23]seeking to get married those who are looking to find a wife
[3:28]those who are married and want children children and those who have
[3:33]children but want them to be righteous and those who are married
[3:37]and have children but want their grandchildren to be righteous and those
[3:42]who are married and have children and have grandchilden but they want
[3:49]their great grandchildren to be indeed upright it is recommended to recite
[3:55]this Dua with t reflection and contemplation this Dua exists in Surah
[4:00]fan and allaha inah highlights 14 characteristics virtues of the slaves or
[4:11]the Servants of the all merciful is a beautiful term in the
[4:19]Holy Quran describing an important part of our Lives the lives of
[4:23]each and every individual and that is the identity who are we
[4:26]how are we identified by how do we represent present ourselves how
[4:33]do we speak about ourselves to others this constitutes a critical part
[4:37]of the lives of human beings because how many times in our
[4:40]lives we've been in situations where we identify ourselves we identify ourselves
[4:44]to people who don't know us we identify ourselves to even those
[4:49]within our community yet identity today is a subject that has caused
[4:54]confusion and arguably there is what is known as the identity crisis
[4:57]amongst the youth sometimes they don't know who they are meaning that
[5:01]for example they know their ancestors are from India or for example
[5:05]they know originally they are Arab yet for instance they are living
[5:11]in Africa or they're living in the Middle East or indeed in
[5:14]America or different parts of the world do they identify themselves as
[5:17]belonging to that part or do they go back to for example
[5:22]their family and the roots of their family but more importantly what
[5:26]about their religious identity meaning today there are those who hide their
[5:31]faith or indeed their M sometimes not because that they are worried
[5:36]or afraid of their lives but rather for diplomatic reasons diplomatic meaning
[5:41]that they do not wish to somehow create friction or that they
[5:47]are not proud of their religious identity meaning what today when you
[5:53]ask a question to people which mhab or which school of thought
[5:57]within the religion of Islam do you follow there are those today
[6:03]who say I will not for example distinguish between I as a
[6:06]follower of and somebody else I will not say for example I
[6:11]am from the Shia of Ali why they might say that this
[6:13]might cause disunity this might cause dissension this is indeed far from
[6:21]the truth this is a fallacy meaning Quran identifies and brings forward
[6:26]an important realization that is indeed supported by the of the each
[6:31]and every one of us has an identity which we need to
[6:33]be proud of and it's an identity that shapes Our Lives an
[6:38]identity that gives us Direction Vision instructions commands how do we live
[6:43]our lives how do we conduct Our Lives how do we seek
[6:45]success in this world and my identity is what my identity muhamad
[7:28]another salaat please my identity is my vision my goal my life
[7:40]therefore I as a Believer should I introduce myself as an individual
[7:48]who follows the school of or should I introduce myself as somebody
[7:51]who is a Muslim that's an important question that some people may
[7:55]have the answer to this in this day and age we have
[7:59]to recognize the importance of identifying ourselves as indeed the followers of
[8:04]in a world where everybody is asking who are the Shia of
[8:09]Ali what are Thea and the beliefs of the Shia of Ali
[8:11]it is of the critical importance that we are not shy of
[8:17]this identity listen to individuals in history who are asked this question
[8:20]about who they are for example who is the slave or the
[8:28]servant of he was an individual who was executed by the enemies
[8:41]of the this individual was asked during his lifetime who are you
[8:50]what is your identity what do you think the response of kar
[8:54]was listen to part of what he said he said M I
[8:59]am the ser of who he says I will give you my
[9:17]identity by giving you the of who I am belonging Who I
[9:18]Am the servant of I am the servant of the one who
[9:22]fought with two swords and had two Spears and he performed Salah
[9:26]towards twas he gave two he did two hijas he never ever
[9:33]a moment in his life did kuur of Allah subhah wa tala
[10:00]for then he says [Music] was not worried about his head being
[11:02]separated from his body his identity was the will ofate his identity
[11:10]was the Shia of Ali that's why I remember a few years
[11:12]ago at the University in London there was a a program that
[11:18]I was invited when I spoke about the importance of Muslims being
[11:21]honest about who they are so that there is an understanding not
[11:26]because of animosity to to fight each other no this is who
[11:28]I am this is my you are the I want to be
[11:37]on I am not shy to tell people I am on yes
[11:42]therefore I said to the seating congregation I said to them that
[11:46]please identify yourself who are you the follower of after the holy
[11:49]prophet one individual in the crowd put his hands up and he
[11:54]said to me I disagree with you you are causing problems you
[11:57]must only say that I am a Muslim don't say anything else
[12:01]because a Muslim is enough the prophet was not Sunni or sh
[12:04]Prophet is Muslim I said to them I will answer you with
[12:08]an example he said what do you mean I said when you
[12:09]travel to any country what is it that you need in order
[12:15]to enter that country he said two things number one passport number
[12:19]two visa I said very good if you go to a country
[12:24]with only the passport with no Visa would you enter that country
[12:32]or not he said no I said usually they need a pass
[12:34]a Visa yes I said can you tell the immigration officer or
[12:38]the person at the airport telling you where is your Visa you
[12:41]say to them don't differentiate we are all human beings this is
[12:45]a passport and you have a passport why do you need a
[12:47]visa everybody should be let through there is only one response you
[12:51]get from that person go back home you cannot enter yes he
[12:56]said to me I don't get it what is that got to
[12:59]do with you and having an identity of the Shia of Ali
[13:02]I said listen very carefully our objective is to go to Jah
[13:06]our passport to Paradise isi is the differentiated between and J I
[13:17]should never have any doubt in my mind someone asks me and
[13:21]someone did two weeks ago in Mecca he said to me who
[13:25]are you are you Sunni or sh next to the of the
[13:26]holy prophet at that moment I was walking and he told me
[13:31]that moment Subhan Allah I was next to I felt the need
[13:33]immediately I raised my chest and my head and I said I
[13:39]am proudly the of when you and I are proud of the
[13:41]association with number one this is the path of Salvation number two
[13:48]our children will look up to parents who understand the value of
[13:52]and not shy of understanding its implication in our lives therefore the
[13:58]Quran comes forward and says that if you have and if you
[14:01]have a belief you need to be identified by it the Quran
[14:06]says that this servitude is an identity for the Believers that an
[14:14]individual has is what is amongst the most successful human beings because
[14:20]the highest status anybody can reach is to be known as the
[14:23]servant of Allah [Music] Allah subh says that the First Quality given
[14:37]to the holy prophet likewise you all know when we recite the
[14:46]we say is mentioned before the messengership therefore the goal for me
[14:55]as a human being as an individual to indeed have an identity
[15:01]that gives me salvation in this world is to recognize that is
[15:05]of the utmost importance I am a servant of Allah first and
[15:10]foremost and I should work towards the servitude whatever indeed comes before
[15:15]me hence the Quran then gives a number of qualities and characteristics
[15:21]associated with this [Music] areas number one what is the of this
[15:36]ay how do we understand its phrases and what does it actually
[15:41]mean this Dua number two how does it apply to the goal
[15:44]of a seeking a successful wife or husband and number three what
[15:50]does it mean in terms of raising children what are the qualities
[15:54]of having the successful yes children or proy for an individual the
[15:59]Quran says those who say is it or is it actions because
[16:07]the Quran the beginning of an intentional Journey towards understanding what this
[16:16]means they say it's of the UT most importance that you and
[16:24]I understand each term so when I memorize this Dua and I
[16:28]recite this Dua in order to get married or to have righteous
[16:31]children it comes from the heart and not just from the tongue
[16:39]in Arabic is not to give hi means to gift but specifically
[16:42]when you gift someone something that they do not deserve is something
[16:49]which is referred to as a gift is an undeserved gift when
[16:57]you give someone who has wronged you something they say this is
[17:03]when you and I say we are saying Allah I Am The
[17:09]Sinner I am the individual who do not deserve all the blessings
[17:13]you give me but you are you are all the merciful and
[17:19]I I am grateful for what you give [Music] me every night
[17:28]what do we recite the recitation is I have never seen a
[17:35]a servant who is more stingy and Mis than me dealing with
[17:38]a all merciful kind Lord like you you call me and I
[17:47]turn away from you you shower me with love yet I respond
[17:55]by hatred and you keep showing me with compassion but I don't
[18:04]like it I don't accept it therefore the first realization when I
[18:08]make Dua Allah I don't deserve it Ya Allah I am not
[18:15]befitting that you are you are you are yes you are the
[18:24]all kind all loving please understand this first thing we ask for
[18:34]in Dua is a righteous spouse a rightous wife or husband second
[18:41]thing we ask for is children do you agree no the Ayah
[18:49]does not ask for righteous children because the word in Arabic for
[18:54]children is but in this a it says is Quran is not
[19:09]concerned with shortterm relief and success Quran wants you and I to
[19:14]have success until the day of so I am asking Allah yeah
[19:20]Allah I do not only want my children to be good I
[19:23]want all the children that come after my children from their proy
[19:29]until the day of to be the best and the most rightous
[19:35]Allah said look at my Mercy that even the Dua I am
[19:42]teaching you gives you and continuous and this is Key by the
[19:47]way because those who are not married and are looking to find
[19:50]the husband or the wife people often are shortterm in their thinking
[19:53]they say you know I want somebody who fulfills one two three
[19:59]of my criteria yeah the Quran says look Beyond understand that if
[20:03]you find the right spouse they will be building the fabric for
[20:07]your C children is righteous and the line will continue until the
[20:20]and all the good that they do you will get for will
[20:29]come to you is very beautiful because in the Arab language in
[20:50]the Arabic language there are two types of eyes means coolness of
[20:58]the eyes in Arabic there is what is know of the eyes
[21:05]the of the eyes there are two types of Tears when somebody
[21:13]is sad they cry and they are referred to as crying hot
[21:20]tears when somebody is happy they cry they are referred to as
[21:26]crying cold tears Quran says is coolness of the eye when the
[21:34]eye feels cool it's a metaphor for Joy Tranquility calmness and happiness
[21:39]the AR used to say when we are in a desert and
[21:45]there is a storm we go into a cave we hide in
[21:49]a cave cave we are hiding in a cave to protect ourselves
[21:56]from a storm therefore the Quran comes forward and says that supplicate
[22:01]to Allah Ya Allah grant me a spouse and progeny that are
[22:07]the source of comfort a source of Happiness source of Tranquility but
[22:11]also protect me from the storm of this D meaning what this
[22:18]dun has so many hardships has so many difficulties has so many
[22:23]challenges the wife or the husband as well as the progeny and
[22:28]the children are source and the means of Tranquility our means of
[22:36]settling down from the storm that hits us from all different directions
[22:41]number one second means of on this Ayah where else in the
[22:47]Quran is mentioned three places two in regards to a mother two
[22:53]mothers yes and one very very important the one place that is
[22:57]referred to with regards to a mother is in chapter 28 both
[23:04]of them when when she picks up M she says to her
[23:12]husband let us keep him yes why he will be a source
[23:19]of happiness for us he will bring joy for you and I
[23:26]let us keep him number one number two when m is placed
[23:29]in the river by his mother in a casket Allah waala says
[23:36]I reveal to her that do this so that she feels a
[23:44]sense of calmness and she is not saddened both are used in
[23:50]reference to what two mothers or females what is important to you
[23:54]and I however is the third usage that is found in third
[23:58]chapter 32:1 17 Allah uses here to relate it to this ay
[24:09]please understand Quran says no soul should know what has been hidden
[24:17]for them what is going to be provided for them from that
[24:22]which gives them coolness of the eyes this is in reference to
[24:25]Paradise the only time the Quran uses in reference to you and
[24:31]I is when it talks about J and if you link this
[24:39]Ayah 32117 to 2574 you'll come to a very important realization Allah
[24:49]says he is saying your spouse and your progeny are your key
[24:57]to get to Jen are your key to obtain prosperity in is
[25:02]a reference to what is in reference to calmness and Tranquility number
[25:07]one but the second meaning is what is Paradise is happiness is
[25:15]success in the here after therefore it goes to show of the
[25:18]importance of what of the correct selection when it comes to the
[25:22]wife or husband and likewise the correct upbringing of the children this
[25:29]particular Dua is therefore a very important Constitution for us as far
[25:38]as family structure is concerned meaning what meaning today the family unit
[25:44]is facing a number of hardships and challenges a number of obstacles
[25:47]anywhere around the world even the definition of a family unit today
[25:54]is being subjected to many different question marks and there is a
[26:00]war on family in this day and age many parents I know
[26:03]are struggling they say that today parenting for example is harder than
[26:11]perhaps 20 30 years ago there are those who are saying finding
[26:17]a righteous spouse is becoming more difficult than ever before and so
[26:24]in their eyes there are many more challenges that need to be
[26:29]overcome and need to be examined I'd like to look at these
[26:32]two areas very briefly to touch on how the Dua can become
[26:38]an active Dua there are two types of Dua there is what
[26:40]is known as a passive Dua a Dua that is just a
[26:48]sentence that's mentioned without any action but an act a successful parent
[26:54]I need to supplicate but I also need to work towards a
[27:00]plan a plan to Manifest this question the first area the Quran
[27:05]comes forward and says and that is the selection of a particular
[27:09]spouse for human beings a challenge that today some have come forward
[27:15]and have complained about why because they say today marriage has become
[27:20]more difficult than before what do you mean when I was looking
[27:23]statistics in the United Kingdom the average age now for marriage has
[27:33]been the highest that has ever been in 2017 the office of
[27:36]national statistics in the United Kingdom said the average age for men
[27:40]to get married is 37 and the average age for women to
[27:47]get married is 35 people are delaying marriage they're pushing it further
[27:53]and further and it's happening in our communities as well it's happening
[27:57]in my travel in different parts of the world America Canada Australia
[28:01]Africa Middle East I meet many people Z and I see our
[28:07]boys they're in their 30s I see our sisters they're in their
[28:10]30s and 40s and when we speak to them there is a
[28:15]reluctance there is a a form of what there is a form
[28:21]of apprehension when it comes to getting married there are a number
[28:24]of reasons and a number of challenges that they say the these
[28:30]are the problems that we are facing when it comes to marriage
[28:33]the first thing that they often say is we have heard so
[28:38]many problems and negativity as far as marital relationships is concerned either
[28:42]by watching our parents or seeing the number of divorce cases in
[28:48]our communities or hearing about how nasty or how difficult it is
[28:52]when it comes to marital relationships what do you mean one person
[28:55]said once my father and mother a fight and they fight a
[29:03]lot in front of us he said when my mother go gets
[29:08]angry with my father she says to him you know how I
[29:10]become calm after I fight you so the father husband says to
[29:17]her how she says the only way I become calm is by
[29:19]going upstairs and C cleaning the bathroom so the husband said very
[29:30]good go and clean the bathroom the son later went to his
[29:36]mom and said Mom how is it that you become calm after
[29:39]a fight with My Father by cleaning the bathroom she said listen
[29:43]you don't understand and your father doesn't understand when I clean the
[29:47]bathroom I use his toothbrush in the recognition that when somebody hears
[29:55]this they say I don't want to be in a state where
[29:59]I am con fighting let me be in a state of calmness
[30:02]I don't want to include myself in these particular situation one person
[30:08]said I was sitting in the car and my father and mother
[30:12]were having an argument in the car driving all of a sudden
[30:15]my wife my mother looked at my father and said can you
[30:21]see these animals on the street in the farm they remind me
[30:24]of your family the husband said yes I agree she said you
[30:32]do he said yes I agree she said how yes they are
[30:37]my in-laws so the child is sitting is thinking you know all
[30:44]these particular slanging matches against husband and wife father and mother is
[30:50]what is putting me off marriage so the first thing to recognize
[30:54]is there is no marriage without conflict but for the sake of
[31:00]Allah and to give a good idea of IM image of marriage
[31:02]do not have these arguments in front of children do not have
[31:08]these particular swearing and acts of aggression and violence which are unacceptable
[31:12]within the religion of Islam just because somebody is your wife or
[31:17]somebody's your husband does not give you the right to use profanity
[31:22]or swear words it is Haram and unacceptable to have these particular
[31:26]exchanges of swearing against each other let's fear Allah first and foremost
[31:31]secondly they must not ever be done in front of the children
[31:33]number one number two one of the problems that we find today
[31:39]as far as finding a right spouse is concerned is the high
[31:44]demands and expectations please understand this Western influence has had an impact
[31:51]on the mindset of our youngsters and our youth both boys and
[31:55]girls today because of social media B holwood and Hollywood there is
[32:02]maybe a wrong understanding of what a husband should be and what
[32:06]a wife should be so when they come to look for somebody
[32:11]to choose as a husband or wife what do they expect in
[32:13]their minds they expect in their minds this idea that is being
[32:20]embedded in their heads or or the wrong expectation that they have
[32:23]seen from their own parents I deal with many marital problems sometimes
[32:28]when I say to the husband what is wrong with your wife
[32:32]honestly you might laugh at what I'm about to say but it
[32:36]happens he says to me she can't cook my mother's Biryani is
[32:39]better than her so immediately there is a comparison with the mother
[32:46]do this and there is this constant comparison that creates conflict and
[32:51]so from the beginning perhaps before the marriage starts there is the
[32:56]idea that I have this the bar is very high and if
[33:00]all the boxes are not ticked then I will not get married
[33:04]to this person by the way there is a ruling here which
[33:10]is what if an individual is committing any form of Haram because
[33:16]they're not getting married any Haram there is a physical need there
[33:20]is also a psychological need also to be with the opposite gender
[33:25]but if an individual commits any form of Haram this doesn't mean
[33:30]fornication no no no anything watching that which Isam yes or having
[33:38]boyfriend girlfriend as a result of not getting married marriage becomes W
[33:43]upon them and the delay of marriage becomes Haram upon them that
[33:48]every day that they're not married and they commit any form of
[33:54]sin what is an act of Disobedience of Allah subhana tala the
[33:57]meter is working it's not a joke some people say it's okay
[34:01]it's okay no no no M it's fine whenever the right person
[34:06]comes whenever I find the right person if you are strong in
[34:09]your IM and you're not committing Haram okay but if you are
[34:12]slipping up yes there is no excuse for delay of this marriage
[34:19]and having this High expectation likewise the Western culture has given in
[34:25]movies I have seen does Islam believe that you have a a
[34:28]soulmate you know soulmates people say there is a soulmate I have
[34:34]not seen any evidence in Quran or to say that there is
[34:40]a soulmate I speak to some sisters and brothers why are you
[34:44]not choosing this person oh mallah he's religious from good family good
[34:48]okay so why what is the problem what is the problem I
[34:53]don't think he's my soulmate allahar where are you going to find
[34:57]your soulmate in timbak 2 or in some parts of the world
[35:02]where is this soulmate oh but I have seen there must be
[35:04]this special connection of the heart that there are arrows flying everywhere
[35:10]where did we get these ideas from yes the holy prophet famously
[35:33]comes forward and says somebody comes to you they have de and
[35:39]yes now I know this is General I am not saying don't
[35:45]look for some important values that you may have but be flexible
[35:49]meaning a Believer is not stubborn not hard-hearted no either my way
[35:54]I want this one W I have seen in UK I don't
[35:58]know here mic but in UK some sisters rejecting a brother he
[36:04]is too short aib sorry molana he's too short when therefore we
[36:13]begin to pick and choose like this don't then yes don't then
[36:17]be surprised by theab of Allah falling onto US when I sayab
[36:24]I mean it today I am very worried today I think we
[36:26]have a pandemic across our communities when I say pandemic means affects
[36:31]Africa America Europe and Australia all countries do you know what that
[36:35]is many of our sisters in their 30s and 40s not married
[36:43]it's spreading it is spreading and our brothers they are looking for
[36:47]ladies who are in their 20s sometimes most of the times and
[36:50]these ladies later on in life not necessarily a fault of their
[36:55]own sometimes sometimes but I'm not being judgmental at all all sometimes
[37:00]it is sometimes it's not but the problem that we have today
[37:03]is that it has to be a coordinated effort between what between
[37:06]everywhere people ask the question these are issues what else culture what
[37:12]do you mean there are some cultures that impose non-islamic practices that
[37:18]stop our youngsters from getting married number one and I know this
[37:23]is controversial but I have to say it because member of and
[37:27]member of is not a member of it's a member of H
[37:35]and the truth it's the member not to be afraid we are
[37:38]not afraid for the sake of Allah when somebody rebukes us one
[37:42]problem we have in culture practices is the say nons marriage issue
[37:49]molana yes this young boy has come yes he is mallah very
[37:57]good he recites Quran he besides Nam he prays he doesn't listen
[38:01]to Haram music he works in a company good Mah what is
[38:07]the problem he's not say m my daughter is say and this
[38:14]daughter remains unmarried why she's waiting for that Mr Perfect who takes
[38:20]all the boxes and has to be SED which which which Ali
[38:28]muhamad has said this must happen tell me this is culture okay
[38:31]no problem at the end of the day at the end of
[38:36]the day if we put extra obstacles before our children before our
[38:40]youth then we must expect problems we must expect these challenges to
[38:45]be Amplified likewise we mentioned a few days ago the whole challenges
[38:50]of is also not something that we should take seriously when it
[38:57]comes to marriage if if only there is doubt or 50/50 then
[39:00]perhaps we you Reser to of his Eminence listen to this he
[39:10]says if a father does for marriage without consulting his daughter regularly
[39:17]he loses the will over his daughter and his daughter can marry
[39:24]without his permission not a joke every time it's and the poor
[39:30]girl doesn't know what's going on yes likewise one of the major
[39:33]challenges that today people face is what is not knowing where to
[39:40]look somebody asked a question okay I want to find a righteous
[39:43]husband or wife where do I look where do I find this
[39:49]person how do I start who do I contact and I think
[39:53]this challenge needs a lot of discussion and help from many different
[39:58]organ organizations and relevant bodies meaning one first of all an individual
[40:04]has to recognize that everything comes from Allah tala and they must
[40:09]never give up they must always be hopeful number one number two
[40:16]they must not be shy to ask their friends and their relatives
[40:19]regularly to look controversial thing some of our sisters are told no
[40:27]not good you should wait for somebody to knock on your door
[40:31]you should never ask for marriage who said the holy prophet of
[40:36]Islam his mother Amina she her mother went and asked Abdul M
[40:45]can my daughter marry your son Abdullah in an age where this
[40:54]was unheard of in 7th Century Arabia which was full of misogyny
[40:58]yes an anti-woman attitude who else peace and blessings be upon her
[41:07]she sends her servant to go and ask the prophet of Islam
[41:09]is it okay that you marry me what's the problem with that
[41:16]oh but you know molana is not really our culture we don't
[41:19]want this but this girl if she finds somebody she can do
[41:25]it in an appropriately Islamic acceptable manner she speaks to her father
[41:29]she speaks to her brothers and says can you find out if
[41:31]this brother is willing or is looking for marriage what's wrong with
[41:35]that there is really nothing wrong with that and today we need
[41:40]to develop a new way which is islamically acceptable to help our
[41:45]sisters and brothers when it comes to marriage when it comes to
[41:49]facilitating yes the final area is the idea that immediately emerges is
[42:03]how do we make sure that our Offspring and our progeny is
[42:06]the apple of our eyes it's the light of our eyes is
[42:11]one that gives us tranquility and happiness I will mention three points
[42:16]inshallah tala before we conclude the first the quranic model for successful
[42:21]parenting is not how sometimes we have raised our children please understand
[42:27]this final few points critical for our success when our children are
[42:31]young are young usually we teach them in Mad pray Etc do
[42:43]you agree this is the foundation block usually when it comes to
[42:48]our children when they were young four five 6 7 the Halal
[42:53]and Haram the dos and don'ts are usually started off from an
[42:58]early age Quran says no Quran says this is important but not
[43:06]after you do something else was a righteous man is mentioned as
[43:23]someone who taught his son in the best possible way when Quran
[43:27]when Allah describes this that means follow this initiates the discussion with
[43:34]his son on no the first basis for which our children need
[43:50]to be strengthened and our youth need to have an understanding is
[43:57]a is beliefs you and I must work and invest so hard
[44:00]for our children when they're young to make them understand their connection
[44:05]with Allah subhana tala their a as far as the prophet and
[44:11]Ali Muhammad is concerned this AA if we feed it from the
[44:13]beginning then when I teach my child Salah and andab and when
[44:19]I teach my child will they will accept it and understand it
[44:22]much more than when they do not have a connection with Allah
[44:25]a is of the most importance when my child is Young when
[44:32]they are four 5 three I need to have conversations about Allah
[44:35]about the prophet about the today our youth are facing questions and
[44:40]objections and misconceptions about their they don't know how to answer because
[44:45]they have been told do this do this do this they have
[44:49]not been given the right foundation this right foundation gives them the
[44:53]strength today when our sisters take their hijab off when our children
[44:56]do not pray when some come and question like why why because
[45:06]they have not been strengthened and the plant has not been watered
[45:11]and the foundation has not being built with the doctrines with that
[45:19]is what we have to invest from a young age I need
[45:23]to know how to speak to my child about Allah I need
[45:27]to give stories of the prophet I need to teach them the
[45:30]importance of from a young age from a young age yes and
[45:36]when they grow older I must never ever dismiss any question that
[45:41]they have regarding a meaning what meaning that if I don't know
[45:47]the answer I will search I will ask the I will investigate
[45:49]and make sure a good answer is given to my child a
[45:55]good answer is given to my youth and I do not take
[45:59]this lightly this is of the utmost importance if I want I
[46:03]must make sure that our children are brought up in line with
[46:08]Quran and indeed the this is very very important in which way
[46:13]is it important today we have a generation who are asking about
[46:19]everything with regards to why the Gen Z they called they are
[46:26]asking why I have had discussion with some of them I'll give
[46:33]you an example one lady in America 13 14 year old she
[46:37]asked me once in a Q&A session she said I have asked
[46:43]this question to many but they have not given me good answer
[46:45]so I am asking you also I said B I am a
[46:52]student of Islam so she said why has Allah made hijab for
[46:56]women but not not to men why if she asks you this
[47:05]question what would you say I know the majority will say that
[47:10]Allah has created the females with their hair as a means of
[47:17]beauty which attracts men and therefore it needs to be covered yes
[47:20]would you give this answer no what answer would you give this
[47:26]is the normal answer that's given yes that's often given as the
[47:30]reason she said I have had this she didn't say but her
[47:32]father told me she has had this answer from every single but
[47:38]she's not satisfied she says it's not fair I want to show
[47:41]my hair why my brother he shows his hair and this notion
[47:46]of the hair of a female more attractive she will say but
[47:49]I find the hair of a man sometimes attracted so there are
[47:56]many who are asking why why why the majority say chess is
[48:03]Haram why I want to play chess why why says going to
[48:08]swimming pool which is mixed is Haram why I want to know
[48:14]give me reason they are asking and so the parent is wondering
[48:17]what shall I do do I have the number of molana sah
[48:21]I need to call him I need to find an answer because
[48:23]otherwise my child is saying I will not practice yes what is
[48:28]it that we are missing what is it that we are missing
[48:33]from the foundation of the upbringing of our children so that they
[48:37]are please understand this we are missing the power of the love
[48:42]of Allah coupled with submission to Allah subhana tala this is what's
[48:46]missing in our upbringing of our children Quran says in chapter 33
[49:01]Quran says when Allah and his messenger say something that the believing
[49:08]men and women do not have a choice they are not allowed
[49:13]to say I don't agree this is understood by the elders the
[49:19]youngsters they do not so a child when they come forward towards
[49:24]an idea that they cannot understand if their heart appreciat that Allah
[49:29]wants the best for them that wants us to be successful but
[49:33]deliberately based on his wisdom he has not told us the basis
[49:40]for some rulings he has not told us has a book called
[49:47]why some are why some are actions are Haram yet there are
[49:51]possibilities not the real reason Allah knows best so when I as
[49:58]a belie teach my child from a young age the love of
[50:00]Allah the trust of Allah that means I submit to Allah I
[50:05]love him so much I know he wants the best for me
[50:08]it doesn't matter if I know why from my rational deduction whether
[50:13]something is halal andam I trust him and therefore I do it
[50:17]because I love him and I want J that is what the
[50:23]success is otherwise we will be what losing out on our children
[50:27]who constantly want to know the basis for something who constantly are
[50:31]struggling in this day and age where everyone from those who are
[50:37]atheists to agnostics to those who are from other schools who are
[50:41]enemies of to those who are within the school of thought online
[50:45]they will produce videos that will place doubts in their minds sitting
[50:51]in a corner somewhere in India or somewhere they will say no
[50:55]no no don't say yeah Ali mad no no no no no
[50:58]no no this no this no this and immediately our children become
[51:02]what infatuated with some style of talking or they become what drawn
[51:07]towards a YouTube Moana and all of a sudden they weaken our
[51:14]their faith whereas the foundation was not strengthened and even if the
[51:19]children were not strengthened when it comes to the usus the basis
[51:24]is not too late investment must be made through a lot of
[51:28]care and love and support and investment of time for them through
[51:34]the righteous means through good activities which require a lot of discussion
[51:40]final point that I'll mention is this the Quran in this Ayah
[51:45]ends and make us leaders of the the god IM when he
[52:02]was asked about this Ayah he says he says this Ayah in
[52:09]the first instance is in reference to the yes the fact that
[52:15]that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala has made them the leaders of the
[52:21]god wary and it highlights the importance of the belief in the
[52:25]IM of the because the the word imama is used isn't it
[52:31]the Divine leadership that Allah waala has selected for the Salvation of
[52:37]human beings in this world and indeed but likewise our have said
[52:41]it also highlights how you and I if we want to be
[52:45]the best the slaves or the Servants of the merciful We should
[52:49]strive to be the best We should strive to attain and to
[52:55]indeed reach the level in which others look look up to us
[52:59]that they emulate us they consider us as Role Models therefore do
[53:02]not settle for second best aim to be the highest and inshallah
[53:08]Allah waala will grant us success because importantly we have the readers
[53:14]and the role models who are chosen by Allah subhana wa tala
[53:18]Muhammad muhamad [Music] final reminder and that is a if you would
[53:31]like to listen to this recite if you ask the and the
[53:44]they say to you this is not fair to say if you'd
[53:45]like something recite salawat one day one of the saw people tired
[53:51]he said if you want me to finish recite salawat everyone recited
[53:54]a lot of Sal wow final Mah and that is regards to
[54:06]uh issue that affects many people when it comes to traveling and
[54:12]who constitutes the a frequent traveler who in the opinion of his
[54:18]Eminence must fast everywhere and must pray tamam full everywhere this is
[54:26]an individual who is frequent traveler please understand this because I have
[54:33]seen already maybe this is not understood well somebody who travels at
[54:37]least 10 days in a month 10 days in a month it
[54:43]could be 2 days then comes back two days then comes back
[54:45]two days so all together 10 days at least 10 days so
[54:50]minimum 10 days in six months so 10 days one month 10
[54:56]days another month 10 days it doesn't have to be 6 months
[54:58]that are consecutive any 6 months in a year they are considered
[55:06]frequent travel number one so if I travel outside my city 10
[55:10]days a month for at least 6 months a year I am
[55:16]frequent traveler number one number two if I travel at least 10
[55:19]days a month for three months only so 10 days one month
[55:25]10 days another month later maybe 10 days in January 10 days
[55:29]in April 10 days in December but I do this on two
[55:33]years so one year 3 months another year three months I am
[55:41]also I am also which means I am a frequent traveler I
[55:46]must pray full everywhere around the world and fast everywhere including the
[55:51]airplane there is a third element which is a bit difficult but
[55:56]that's if someone who travels eight or nine days a month if
[56:00]you travel 8 to 9 days a month per month for 6
[56:06]months a year you are in a special category where you must
[56:10]pray full and so the advice is don't travel 8 to n
[56:18]days at least 10 days or seven days yes now final point
[56:26]is how do I know if I travel 6 months or 3
[56:29]months in a year 3 months another year you need to know
[56:31]for sure that means you know for work for your schedule it
[56:36]is likely this year you will travel 6 months or 3 months
[56:38]this year and 3 months next year it is likely not that
[56:42]you don't know if you don't know and it happens there something
[56:44]else but if you know that is likely to happen then you
[56:49]begin to be considered amongst the those who are frequent Travelers may
[56:54]Allah accept our with thead muhamad
