[1:21]when it comes to the topic of our children and raising our

[1:27]children the holy quran makes two important points number one the quran

[1:31]shows us that our children are one of the greatest blessings that

[1:35]allah could ever give us the holy quran says that our children

[1:46]are the zen they beautify our lives without children our lives would

[1:51]be so boring would be so dull and mundane so it is

[1:55]the children that make life exciting and they give beauty to our

[2:01]life so this is the first point that the quran mentions but

[2:04]then again the quran says that at the same time that our

[2:07]children are the source of our pride and they are the adornment

[2:13]and beauty of this life our children are also a fitnah the

[2:22]quran says the quran says when we think about fitna the last

[2:28]thing that would come on our minds is our children correct fitnah

[2:31]i think something is evil by the way fitnah means test trial

[2:36]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala uses fitna in the quran to mean test

[2:40]and trial so allah is telling us that yes children are beautiful

[2:46]you enjoy them they make life very exciting they add flavor but

[2:49]at the same time when i give you children there is responsibility

[2:54]with it it's an amman it's a trust so that's why allah

[3:00]azzawajal considers it as a fitna heard one in my life so

[3:11]the imam told him that i see that what i am hearing

[3:15]is basically that you don't want any children correct said what what

[3:18]do you mean you said i don't want fitness the imam told

[3:22]them even your children are your fitness allah will test you through

[3:25]your children so allah subhanahu wa ta'ala gives us this blessing the

[3:28]zena this but at the same time he tests us through our

[3:33]children meaning will i carry out my responsibilities towards my children or

[3:39]not will i teach them what they need to live a comfortable

[3:44]life in the dunya and in the akra or not many parents

[3:49]they understand the first part raise your child to be successful in

[3:53]the dunya give them what they need in the dunya but unfortunately

[3:55]we forget about their they have another life which is the achara

[4:00]which is the true life that allah subhanahu wa ta'ala created us

[4:06]for do i raise my child to be successful for the for

[4:09]the next life or is it just the dunya this is how

[4:14]allah subhanahu test parents when it comes with their children some parents

[4:18]they're so happy as long as their children are healthy and they

[4:21]are getting good education alhamdulillah but what about their iman what about

[4:25]their faith that's not important if my child prays or not if

[4:29]my daughter wears hijab or not you know that's completely up to

[4:32]her this is not my business it's not your business if she

[4:35]wears hijab and praise but it is your business if she doesn't

[4:38]want to get an education how does that make sense either you

[4:41]let go of everything she wants to live a life without education

[4:44]he wants to live alive that he doesn't care about his health

[4:48]we would not allow that when it comes to the dunya but

[4:51]when it comes to the surprisingly some parents have the hands off

[4:55]policy so this is where the fitna of allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala comes

[5:00]into play and the quran is trying to show us that no

[5:04]matter how religious and devout you the parents may be there is

[5:11]no guarantee that your children will also follow in the same way

[5:16]there is no guarantee that my children will also be religious and

[5:19]the greatest testimony to that is that we have stories in the

[5:23]quran of prophets of allah messengers of allah that struggled with their

[5:28]own children that struggled struggled with their sons with their daughters and

[5:33]they were prophets of allah they were messengers of allah azzawajal and

[5:37]allah shows us three stories of this in the quran number one

[5:40]the story of prophet adam adam was a prophet and he was

[5:46]a messenger and we've all heard what happened to his son correct

[5:51]who is the son of a messenger became a criminal he became

[5:56]a criminal who was envious of his brother and he killed him

[6:01]because of that envy so just because my father is good just

[6:04]because my father is a prophet does not mean that i necessarily

[6:09]will become good number two the second example is the prophet yahoo

[6:15]and we've read the story of what the sons of yahub did

[6:20]to their brother yusuf the crime they committed against yusuf once again

[6:24]because of envy they tried to kill him they threw him in

[6:28]the well and then they repented at the end so even though

[6:30]my father could be a prophet my brother could be a prophet

[6:35]but yet unfortunately the individual may become misguided and devious and the

[6:40]third example which is the greatest example that allah gives of a

[6:45]undutiful ungrateful son is the son of noor prophet one of the

[6:51]greatest prophets of allah subhanahu ta'ala his son was condemned by allah

[6:55]in the quran where allah tells noah oh no this is not

[6:59]even your son yes biologically he's your son but realistically he's not

[7:04]even your son let him go and he drowned and was condemned

[7:07]by allah subhanahu wa ta'ala why does allah tell us these stories

[7:11]bedtime stories so that you can fall asleep obviously not allah wants

[7:17]to send a lesson you are religious you are spiritual you are

[7:21]faithful there is no guarantee that your children will be religious so

[7:24]what do i do that's it i leave them no the quran

[7:29]is trying to show us and motivate us to be extra careful

[7:31]and you see the three examples of the quran the sons of

[7:36]those prophets all of that happened at a time where there was

[7:41]no internet there was no social media and there wasn't this liberal

[7:46]wave that we see today so if you imagine if you see

[7:51]that those prophets struggled with their sons and their sons struggled with

[7:57]religiosity you can imagine what a challenge the youth our children face

[8:01]today in 2022 now it's much more difficult brothers and sisters to

[8:06]hang on to your faith number one because religion is facing a

[8:10]setback every single day religion as i speak is in decline there

[8:16]was an article in the new york times a couple of months

[8:17]ago that said do you know what the fastest growing religion on

[8:24]earth is today try to guess it's not islam no it is

[8:31]not christianity it is not judaism it is not buddhism it is

[8:34]not hinduism what's the fastest growing religion in the world today the

[8:40]fastest growing religion on earth today is non-religiosity non-religiosity is growing it's

[8:48]spreading like wildfire and they cited a pew research study that said

[8:55]40 of millennials of today which are people in their 20s and

[9:01]30s which i by the way i'm also a millennial 40 of

[9:07]millennials today identify themselves as being non-religious meaning either an atheist or

[9:14]agnostic or just non-religious in general 40 percent and every year it's

[9:21]becoming worse and worse maybe in 10 years and 20 years and

[9:23]30 years it will be 70 and 80 percent you see the

[9:28]times that we live in our children are raised in a time

[9:33]where 40 of millennials they don't like religion anymore they're not interested

[9:37]in religion anymore what is happening brothers and sisters in our communities

[9:41]when you come to the masajud when you come to the islamic

[9:44]centers everywhere you don't find too many youth but go to the

[9:50]cafes go to the saharas and you see hundreds you see thousands

[9:53]of youth going and going there individually and in groups all of

[9:58]this showing you that our youth are no longer interested in religion

[10:01]because of all the challenges they face so religion is at a

[10:07]decline and morality is at a decline these are the two things

[10:10]that give us immunity religion and morality religion from allah subhanahu wa

[10:14]ta'ala and the more moral system the values that we have morality

[10:18]is at a decline once upon a time 50 60 years ago

[10:22]a youth growing up anywhere in the world especially here would know

[10:26]what's right and wrong what's moral and immoral correct if they wanted

[10:30]to choose the wrong path they know it's wrong but yet they

[10:33]wanted to choose it today our youth don't even know what's right

[10:36]and wrong anymore because morality keeps shifting what was unacceptable immoral disgraceful

[10:43]50 years ago is now perfectly acceptable and you know what i'm

[10:48]talking about look at homosexuality just a few years ago 30 40

[10:54]years ago it was shunned in this country now you can't say

[10:57]anything against it and a youth who grows up in this country

[11:02]is thought that this is fine nothing wrong with it this is

[11:06]completely moral it's not it's not about people doing it or not

[11:09]it's about others who normalize it and see it as completely moral

[11:15]nothing wrong with it and this has also become old now the

[11:18]new trend is the gender movement correct they tell you that you

[11:21]wake up one day you feel like a boy you're a boy

[11:23]the next day you feel like a girl you're a girl the

[11:27]third day you're not a boy nor a girl you can start

[11:29]creating new pronouns for yourselves one day i'm a hee one day

[11:35]i'm a she the other day i'm a it remember once a

[11:36]brother told me i met a young person and i met i

[11:41]met a an american individual i was at an event and i

[11:45]asked him about his daughter i asked him how is she doing

[11:48]so he told me do not call her she anymore because she

[11:52]decided to change her gender call her it how is i don't

[11:55]know it doing anymore subhanallah and they normalize this and this is

[12:01]just the challenge and difficulty of today you can imagine five years

[12:04]ten years down the line the new challenges that arise that our

[12:09]youth don't even know they don't understand what's right and wrong anymore

[12:14]so religion is a decline and morality is likewise at a decline

[12:18]and that's why the holy quran has a very clear message for

[12:21]us if we are parents or insha allah we shall be parents

[12:25]one day the quran says all you who believe protect yourself and

[12:33]protect your family protect your children from these challenges protect them from

[12:39]this wave of liberal liberalism immorality and non-religiosity because if you did

[12:46]not you do not work hard and you did not struggle and

[12:48]you did not put all the time and effort into this your

[12:55]children will be swept in this liberal wave 100 my child will

[12:58]be swept and today 2022 it's no longer possible to shield your

[13:02]children from hearing about this you may say you know what i

[13:07]hope my child never even knows about these new immoral things that

[13:11]happen to our in our communities and societies this my friends is

[13:15]a failed tactic because you can no longer shield unless you're living

[13:19]in a cave you can no longer shield your children from this

[13:25]why because now this immorality has invaded our homes once upon a

[13:30]time if you wanted to see immorality you would have to seek

[13:33]it you'd have to go after it now my friends it has

[13:38]invaded our own homes how through the internet through the smartphones through

[13:43]the ipads that our babies now two years old they're we buy

[13:46]ipads for them correct don't we three years old they have ipads

[13:50]10 years old they have a phone social media youtube internet we

[13:56]don't know what's in these correct and that's why you find that

[14:01]these phones my friends social media and the internet they have a

[14:06]greater influence on our children than we as parents they raise our

[14:10]children more than we do how do the children learn what to

[14:14]do and what to say and what's right and wrong it's from

[14:17]people they follow on social media it's from their friends that they

[14:20]that they connect with on social media this has a greater influence

[14:26]and shaping the personality of our children than we as parents so

[14:29]you cannot keep them from being exposed to this but what you

[14:33]can do at a young age instill the values of islam and

[14:38]still the values of so they have that inner immunity so that

[14:42]even if they are exposed they know what's right and wrong because

[14:46]they have been taught what's right and wrong at a young age

[14:49]and that's why when you look at rasulullah and his relationship with

[14:58]fatima the prophet never took this for granted i am rasulullah i'm

[15:02]the best person allah created my daughter is obviously going to be

[15:06]religious no because rasulullah knows that there were prophets before him their

[15:11]children they were lost so even prophets have to be careful if

[15:14]prophets have to be vigilant you can imagine what you and i

[15:19]should do that's why rasulullah had a very special relationship with fatima

[15:24]he raised her very diligently rasulullah was very careful to focus on

[15:30]fatima such that he raises her to be a great individual so

[15:34]when you hear father she is the greatest woman of all time

[15:40]don't think that happens spontaneously just naturally oh yeah because rasulullah was

[15:46]the father no it was because the hard work and effort of

[15:49]rasulullah so that's why tonight in sha allah i want to mention

[15:55]a few lessons that rasulullah fatima and we can also learn at

[15:59]a young age number one the first lesson that rasulullah teaches that

[16:06]we can find in the traditions is that he taught her prayer

[16:13]the importance of prayer at a young age prayer my friends is

[16:17]very important when it comes to raising our children almost every young

[16:22]individual i know struggles with their salah salah is just a burden

[16:28]it's just too difficult when you think about it how long does

[16:31]salah take you 20 minutes 17 raka's correct 17 wajib takes us

[16:38]one minute allah is not asking much from you 20 minutes but

[16:41]yet everyone i know at their young age struggles with their salah

[16:48]why number one because we as parents do not instill the importance

[16:52]of salah with our children at that young age once they're 15

[16:56]once they're 20 alibaba come and pray allah mommy let's pray together

[16:58]correct that's too late tell us that when your child is seven

[17:04]that they have to pray every day make it a habit since

[17:08]they're seven why because if there was any errors any mistakes they're

[17:12]still young allah azzawajal will exempt them allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will

[17:16]excuse them so start at the age of seven teaching them salah

[17:19]and the importance of salah and you don't just tell them you

[17:23]have to be the role model when it's salat it's maghrib and

[17:28]you pray jamaa in your house this is a habit that should

[17:32]be in every single house every time i pray salat i call

[17:38]all my children and pray jama'a you don't have to have a

[17:43]say it correct to lead the salah you can lead the salah

[17:45]the father and the house with your family so instead of leaving

[17:50]your son your daughter in the room just playing video games and

[17:53]on social media and only allah knows what they're doing call them

[17:56]every day at least from a young age i instill the importance

[18:08]of salah that this is something that they grow up with and

[18:13]you know when a child grows up with a habit usually it

[18:15]continues versus when they're older they're teenagers they're more reluctant to accept

[18:20]new habits in their lives and don't just teach them teach them

[18:23]the importance of salah your salah you tell your dear son your

[18:28]dear daughter is your connection to allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala your salah is

[18:33]the way that you thank allah azzawajal look at all the beauties

[18:35]that allah gave us all the all the benefactions all the favors

[18:40]that he showers us with how do we thank allah you thank

[18:43]him through salah so you teach them the importance the significance of

[18:47]salah and teach them to understand the wording of salah many youth

[18:54]they pray they don't even know what they're saying so we have

[19:03]to teach them the meanings of what we recite in salah in

[19:07]this way salah will become more important in their eyes fatima alaihissalam

[19:12]is raised from a young age to not miss allah she comes

[19:15]to rasulullah the hadith says and she asks him my dear father

[19:22]is what happens to someone who doesn't care about his salah what

[19:29]happens to someone that takes the salah lightly doesn't take his or

[19:36]her salah seriously fatima at a young age is asking her father

[19:41]what happens to the one that does not take his salah seriously

[19:44]and this is what rasulullah teaches her he teaches her the beauty

[19:48]of salah the benefits of salah why i should be praying every

[19:53]day and the prophet shows her that salah has an impact and

[19:55]an effect on every part of your life for example the prophet

[20:01]says number one the individual who does not pray or does not

[20:05]take their salah seriously allah will remove the barakah from their zip

[20:11]what does this mean my friends is anything good you have in

[20:14]your life money anytime you receive money this is a good spouse

[20:21]this is rizzo good children this is if you have good health

[20:27]this is good mental health we need this right now in the

[20:31]pandemic right this is all risk from allah some people they just

[20:34]ask allah for sustenance that's it this is not enough the prophet

[20:39]says sustenance by itself will not make you happy sustenance by itself

[20:46]is not what you should ask for you should always ask for

[20:52]barakah blessings in your why because if there is blessings in your

[20:56]two things will happen number one if there is blessings baraka in

[21:03]your reserve the rizzaq will come much easier the sustenance will come

[21:10]much easier you see sometimes you work so hard so long and

[21:13]you don't really make anything other times you work so little but

[21:19]you see the reward is so huge those instances there is a

[21:22]blessing there is baraka in that you don't want a huge risk

[21:27]if it's very difficult and it's really you know you have to

[21:30]stay up so many nights and it's torture for you you know

[21:35]what to come in a difficult way we want to come easy

[21:40]likewise with marriage i know some young individuals for years they try

[21:44]to get married they cannot find the girl that they want to

[21:49]get married four years five six years they try once twice five

[21:51]they're struggling with their risk finally in the end they may find

[21:58]their future spouse but after so much trouble after so much anxiety

[22:01]and stress there is no barakah there is no blessings in the

[22:04]swaziland ask allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to place the blessings in so

[22:09]when there is blessings in your reserve it easily comes and not

[22:16]only does it easily come it doesn't easily go sometimes you make

[22:18]good money but it goes it's wasted on things that you didn't

[22:21]want to spend on i remember once there was a brother who

[22:24]told me say it one day i made seven hundred dollars this

[22:26]was a huge day for me he's a young guy correct the

[22:29]beginning of his career he said the next day i get into

[22:34]an car accident and i have to pay 700 to fix my

[22:35]car what's the point of making 700 but next day you have

[22:39]to spend it to fix your car there's no point in that

[22:44]you have to ask allah to give you barack meaning that you

[22:47]benefit from it and it's it's there and it stays and that's

[22:49]why they say the word barakah stems from the word barikal ebil

[22:57]the arabs when the they used to have a saying that when

[23:00]the camel sits they used to call this barak meaning that the

[23:06]camel is sitting and when the camel sits it won't get up

[23:11]sits for like a day or a day or two it will

[23:11]rest so baraka is something that's permanent it's there to stay so

[23:17]ask allah subhanahu wa ta'ala for the barakah and this is number

[23:20]one when there is barakah in your zip it easily comes but

[23:25]it does not easily go number two when there is barakah blessings

[23:28]in your zip allah will allow you to enjoy the result that

[23:33]you have meaning that many times money my friends becomes the source

[23:40]of misery of some people life was good when that money came

[23:42]it destroyed their lives i mentioned the story a couple of weeks

[23:46]ago if you were here thursday night i mentioned the story of

[23:49]a couple in the uk who won the lottery five million pounds

[23:55]seven million dollars correct this money became the source of their misery

[23:59]why because it started creating problems in the family and the wife

[24:04]wasn't caring for the husband anymore created jealousy tension had escalated until

[24:08]the husband wanted to kill his wife one day this wasn't the

[24:10]news i read it last month he wanted to kill her stabbed

[24:15]her seven times with the knife in her face she didn't die

[24:19]but as i speak she's in the hospital and the husband is

[24:21]in the prison what's the point of me winning five million pounds

[24:24]seven million dollars if it's gonna lead to this outcome correct do

[24:29]you want such money so don't just ask for money ask allah

[24:31]to place barakah so that you can enjoy it i know many

[24:36]instances of a family that was destroyed because of money they were

[24:41]happy they were fine the husband and wife were all good but

[24:44]because they became wealthy and the business started to get better this

[24:47]created so many problems and it led to divorce i know instances

[24:53]of a husband and wife that have such a messy divorce because

[24:56]there is money involved in it right because the wife wants to

[25:00]take half of the money the husband doesn't want to give her

[25:02]and then he hires a lawyer and she hires a lawyer and

[25:06]they spend hundreds of thousands of dollars just on that case who's

[25:09]happy the wife is not happy the husband is not happy only

[25:11]the lawyers are happy just making milking the you know the the

[25:17]husband and wife and i know instances stories of brothers and sisters

[25:20]who got along very well but then there was inheritance their father

[25:26]died and there was a huge inheritance and because they disagreed on

[25:29]how to distribute the inheritance the the relationship of the brothers and

[25:34]sisters was completely broken so don't just ask for brothers and sisters

[25:42]ask for allah the sustenance that allah azza gives you and finally

[25:49]sometimes allah can give you something can give you money and that

[25:52]money will lead your iman to become weak what's the point of

[25:56]allah gives me money and that money causes me to go away

[26:03]from allah azzawajal so ask allah azzawajal to give you blessings in

[26:07]your wizard meaning it will make me happy it will easily come

[26:10]it will not easily go it will make me happy and it

[26:14]will keep me a believer a man believing in allah subhanahu wa

[26:18]so rasulullah is teaching fatima he tells you whoever does not take

[26:26]their salah seriously allah will take away the blessings the barakah from

[26:31]their so pray and allah will add the blessings in your resurrection

[26:34]this is number one number two the prophet tells her ya the

[26:37]one who does not pray does not take their salah seriously then

[26:43]their dua will not be raised to allah see sometimes we pray

[26:48]we have a hajjah we have this very important thing that we

[26:51]want we pray and pray and pray and ask allah azzawajal but

[26:57]allah does not grant us our hajjah why the prophet says that

[27:00]if you are not taking your salah seriously then your dua will

[27:06]not even reach allah for him to answer you for him to

[27:10]grant you what you need why is that it's because if you

[27:13]want allah to give you your hajjah there has to be a

[27:18]line of communication between you and allah correct if there is no

[27:22]line of communication between you and allah your words won't even reach

[27:25]allah what is your line of communication between you and allah it

[27:28]is your salah your five daily prayers opens the pathway between you

[27:34]and allah once you maintain your five daily prayers and you take

[27:38]it seriously just like how you take your job seriously correct every

[27:41]day i'm up at the same time i'm not one minute late

[27:45]and i'm there for the eight hours you take your salah seriously

[27:47]then the pathway will be clear for your dua to reach allah

[27:52]subhanahu wa ta'ala you see sometimes what happens to us when our

[27:56]phones are dead when you see that there is no service there

[28:00]is no wi-fi there's no reception you see how crazy we become

[28:02]when you cannot talk and communicate to others but why is it

[28:07]we are fine when we are not able to communicate to our

[28:11]lord allah subhanahu wa ta'ala when there is no line of communication

[28:14]between me and allah when i don't pray my spirit says out

[28:19]of service my spirit says there is no reception you can't talk

[28:22]to allah because your connectivity to allah your connection to allah is

[28:26]your salah so the prophet tells father you want allah to answer

[28:34]your dua then make sure that you take your salah seriously because

[28:37]then the pathway will be clear this is number two the second

[28:40]thing that rasulullah teaches fatima number the individual that does not pray

[28:50]does not take their salah seriously allah will not accept their other

[28:54]allah azzawajal will not accept other and this is reported in many

[29:02]ahadi that the prophet says your salah is the pillar of your

[29:09]faith if there is no pillar nothing can contain nothing can hold

[29:13]your faith meaning i do so many good things in my life

[29:18]i help my parents i help other individuals i come to these

[29:21]lectures i donate i go to hajj i go to ziara i

[29:25]do community service the prophet tells fatima if you did not maintain

[29:29]your salah allah will not credit you for your other alma do

[29:32]you know how awful i will feel on the day of judgement

[29:35]seeing i did so much it was just salah that i was

[29:41]not serious with and we said just take 17 minutes that i

[29:43]was denied being credited of my because i was too lazy to

[29:48]pray my seventies brothers and sisters it is not worth it for

[29:51]me to be denied being credited for my other good deeds because

[29:56]allah says you didn't pray i will not credit you for anything

[29:59]else so you know as we say it's the cherry on top

[30:03]you've done everything just pray those 17 and allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[30:07]will make all your other count this is number three that rasulullah

[30:11]tells her and number four the prophet tells fatima the individual that

[30:15]does not take their salah seriously allah will take the nor from

[30:22]their face the prophet says allah will strip that individual in their

[30:30]face you know some individuals you see them their face has so

[30:35]much nor it emanates it glows these individuals are the ones that

[30:39]perfect their salah these individuals that as soon as they hear the

[30:42]adhan they will leave whatever they are doing and they will rush

[30:47]to their master allah subhanahu wa when you take your salah seriously

[30:53]allah azzawajal gives you a noor in your face it's a beautiful

[30:56]noor that cannot be described but can only be experienced this is

[31:01]what rasulullah tells fatima and that's when she used to stand before

[31:08]allah and pray her face would glow and imam assad says this

[31:11]he was asked one day and imam sadaq was asked why is

[31:25]we also use this name we have many zahras in our community

[31:31]what does the imam said by the way means the one that

[31:38]glows radiates emanates emits and imam al-sadiq says the reason why she

[31:42]was called as zahra is because when she would stand to pray

[31:47]to allah her face would glow and emanate such that the people

[31:51]of medina would notice it allahu akbar the more your salah is

[31:54]complete the more there is sincerity in your salat and god consciousness

[32:00]the more allah will give you that noor in your face so

[32:03]the al-imam said tells his companion she was named as because when

[32:09]she used to stand before allah and prostrate and do sujood and

[32:13]her face would emanate so they called her this is the zahara

[32:18]the one that glows the one that the noor comes from her

[32:21]face so rasulullah tells father of the benefits of salah and this

[32:30]is a lesson to all of us take your salah seriously brothers

[32:35]and sisters and when you have children teach them the importance of

[32:38]salah at a young age so in the midst of all the

[32:41]challenges that i spoke about the non-religiosity the immorality our children can

[32:47]seek inspiration from allah through their salah this is the first lesson

[32:54]that rasulullah the second lesson that rasulullah teaches is that he teaches

[33:19]her how to be comforted anytime she has difficulties anxiety or stress

[33:24]in life and this is something we can all benefit from listen

[33:27]to the story the hadith says fatlima comes to rasulullah one day

[33:31]she tells him ya rasulallah i am overburdened at my house i

[33:37]am overburdened i am stressed with the housework and the children and

[33:40]everything it's too much ya rasool allah this is a difficult time

[33:45]for me please help me so she comes to rasulullah to seek

[33:48]some guidance to seek some help because she is overburdened in her

[33:53]house and this is something that i hear is happening also today

[33:55]especially with mothers working mothers there's just too much that they have

[34:02]to deal with from one side you find that she works so

[34:06]the job has certain demands and requirements from the other side the

[34:10]husband has demands and requirements from another side the children have their

[34:14]own demands they have their own expectations and then there are social

[34:18]expectations and commitments i have to attend this funeral i have to

[34:21]attend this wedding and i have to go and visit this individual

[34:23]so there are just so many things that this mother has to

[34:28]deal with in the society and all of this in the middle

[34:30]of a pandemic correct every day you turn on the news and

[34:36]it's always negative news we had a hundred thousand cases today half

[34:39]a million and the other day one million cases were all gonna

[34:42]die this world is gonna end there's nothing good in the news

[34:45]today that's why my advice to you brothers and sisters turn off

[34:48]that tv delete that app the news app while your mental health

[34:53]will become so much better because it's all negative negative pessimistic if

[34:58]you become a pessimistic person that thinks the world will end some

[35:01]people they come and as we say do you think about me

[35:04]is going to rise next year in the world does that when

[35:07]you watch cnn the whole day this is what you think that

[35:08]this is the end of the world they don't know that 100

[35:12]years ago 500 there were so many things so many challenges that

[35:15]were much greater it just depends on your attitude and mentality so

[35:20]just turn it off and delete that up so these mothers they

[35:24]face all of this all these problems and this leaves a toll

[35:28]it takes a toll it has a toll on their mental health

[35:32]it really does you see this pandemic they say that it had

[35:37]such a terrible effect on people's mental health because social distancing and

[35:41]where the mask and school gets cancelled and this gets cancelled and

[35:45]we have to stay home it's a challenge so rasulallah teach his

[35:52]father he gives her a beautiful remedy when she comes and she

[35:55]complains to him ya rasulallah i'm stressed out what do i do

[35:57]listen this is a lesson for us the prophet tells her yeah

[36:06]fatima and let me teach you a thicker of allah anytime you

[36:08]have anxiety you have a difficult day you have stress let me

[36:13]teach you a thicker of allah azzawajal this thicker will alleviate your

[36:21]stress this thicker will bring you relief from the problems that you

[36:24]have and this is the famous taste the prophet tells her in

[36:31]the morning in the morning if you have a difficult day next

[36:33]day in the morning or you know this is going to be

[36:37]a tough day then you recite 34 times it's so easy it

[36:39]takes two two minutes 34 times say allahu akbar 33 times and

[36:52]33 times say subhan allah subhan allah all together collectively 100 times

[36:58]you remember allah and remember that when we say vikar of allah

[37:04]don't just allow allah to be present on your tongue some people

[37:07]they're saying these thickers but their heart is disconnected it's somewhere else

[37:39]take us out of the problem right you may say what is

[37:43]some dhikr how is that going to solve my financial problem how

[37:45]is that going to solve my sickness how is that going to

[37:48]solve my marriage problems correct some diker the idea that the prophet

[37:55]is teaching fatima is that when you have a problem instead of

[37:58]asking allah to take you out of the problem invite allah into

[38:03]your problem see how you change your perspective ask allah subhanahu wa

[38:09]ta'ala instead of changing the circumstances ask allah to change you ask

[38:14]allah to make you stronger ask allah to make you resilient because

[38:19]if allah every time i have a problem allah wants to come

[38:25]and save me then i won't grow i'll be a weak individual

[38:26]i'll be a weak individual that is prone to any any difficulty

[38:32]in life it will break me so when allah azzawajal allows you

[38:38]to face some difficulties this allows me to reach my potential so

[38:42]invite allah into your life instead of telling allah get rid of

[38:47]my financial problem ya allah get rid of my sickness get rid

[38:52]of my anxiety and stress i ask you ya allah to come

[38:54]into my life and i ask you to make me grow from

[38:58]the inside this is a much better way for me as an

[39:02]individual to grow my friends see how rasulullah is teaching this if

[39:06]you have allah on your mind and you know he loves you

[39:09]and he's always there for you this is what you need the

[39:12]strength and the resilience to face the greatest problem because allah can't

[39:18]come every couple of days and save you from your problems every

[39:21]day there's going to be a problem in our life brothers and

[39:25]sisters what you need is to be strong what you need is

[39:27]resilience what you need is what patience if allah gives you all

[39:33]the money in the world but you're sick you have cancer what's

[39:35]that money going to do for you nothing correct you're still going

[39:39]to have to go and get that annoying treatment that difficult chemotherapy

[39:43]and surgery and go to the doctor every week allah some people

[39:47]such a difficult life may allah protect us all from these viruses

[39:54]and diseases but if allah azzawajal gives you patience this is all

[39:59]you need if i have a problem in my life ask allah

[40:02]for patience because when allah gives you patience then it will be

[40:06]so much easier for you to navigate the difficulties of life and

[40:13]allah mentions this in the holy quran allah says allah says beware

[40:18]of human beings that i will try you in this life this

[40:21]plot life is a place of struggle so that we grow because

[40:25]if there is no struggle you don't grow correct just like when

[40:29]you go to the gym you have to struggle you have to

[40:32]put an effort you have to exert force on your muscles this

[40:34]is how your muscles grow correct physically you grow through these difficulties

[40:40]likewise spiritually when there is a struggle in your life this allows

[40:44]your spirit to grow so allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says that you

[40:50]will struggle in the dunya and i made this on purpose so

[40:52]that you grow you become better allah says allah says beware of

[41:06]human beings there will be difficult days in your life i will

[41:08]try you through fear the virus what did it do to us

[41:12]many people said what happened with this pandemic what happened to allah

[41:15]is he angry with us no brothers and sisters this is the

[41:18]system of allah that he tells us about in the quran he

[41:22]says i will try you with fear so if you see fear

[41:26]that means the system of allah is working he never said anywhere

[41:28]in the quran life is going to always be comfortable such that

[41:31]if there's a pandemic we say what's going on no allah said

[41:35]there will be fear allah says i will try you with fear

[41:36]i will try you with hunger i will try you with loss

[41:40]of life loss of wealth loss of relatives so when you see

[41:45]that happening around you you say the plan of allah that he

[41:47]promised is working shouldn't make you turn away from allah it should

[41:51]make you believe in allah more so after allah saying that there

[41:56]are difficulties in life and then allah tells you what you need

[41:59]to face those difficulties you need money no if you lose your

[42:02]child if i have a son or daughter that i love and

[42:05]i lose them at a young age although allah all the money

[42:09]of the world will not help you i know an individual who

[42:11]lost his daughter she was 16 17 he lost her in a

[42:17]tragic way this father brothers and sisters a very wealthy man a

[42:22]very wealthy man owns much more than you think but when he

[42:27]lost his daughter the taste of everything that he had and the

[42:33]joy was completely lost he did not want to live anymore if

[42:36]allah subhanahu wa gives you billions and you lose a loved one

[42:39]that's it you don't enjoy it anymore allah azzawajal gave him something

[42:45]that was greater than all of his wealth and that was patience

[42:47]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala brought down patience and tranquility upon his heart

[42:53]and that's how he was able to continue so allah says that

[42:57]i will try you and you only need one thing continue the

[42:59]verse and then allah says and give glad tidings to the sabbath

[43:10]the patient once allah when they see affliction in their life when

[43:17]they're tried when there's difficulties they complain and they say why no

[43:21]they say inna lillah to allah we belong and to him we

[43:28]shall return allah azzawajal says the patient ones will be fine they

[43:31]will be saved and then the next verse says those individuals allah

[43:39]will send his and his blessings upon them so rasulallah teaches fatima

[43:45]there might be difficult days i can save you with this difficulty

[43:50]and i can bring a fix but let me give you something

[43:54]that is much better than a temporary fix and that is to

[43:56]invite allah into your life because when allah is involved in your

[43:59]problem in your life then it becomes much easier to handle and

[44:05]endure the difficulties of life so this is the second beautiful lesson

[44:09]that rasulullah teaches his daughter fatima and it's a lesson to us

[44:13]if there are stress anxiety difficulties every day when you wake up

[44:19]brothers and sisters and don't let it just be words lip service

[44:23]on my mouth feel the presence of allah subhanahu wa allah is

[44:28]with you allah will take care of you it might be difficult

[44:33]but in the end i will be the one who is victorious

[44:34]and successful imams tell us that is also should be done after

[44:43]your salah remember the salah the five daily prayers do this be

[44:46]for the imam says that it is greater to do test than

[44:52]to pray one thousand like us one thousand as how long does

[44:57]that take brothers and sisters some people pray one hundred raka's you

[45:20]the one the last one i will mention the last lesson that

[45:22]rasulullah teaches fatima is how to be content in life comes to

[45:31]ima it comes to rasulullah one day and she's upset rasulullah tells

[45:37]her what are you upset about she tells him because i overheard

[45:41]some woman speaking against imam ali and they were saying that poor

[45:49]father her father married her to a poor man imam ali was

[45:53]not a wealthy rich man imam ali did not own much in

[45:57]fact when he came to propose to fatima the prophet asked him

[46:00]what do you have as a maha as a dowry he didn't

[46:04]own anything he did not even own a house he told him

[46:08]ya rasulallah i only own three i only own three things from

[46:14]the ruins of this dunya i own my sword my shield and

[46:16]a small camel that i use to work with that's the only

[46:20]thing i own and this is where rasulullah said you need your

[46:23]shield you need your sword you need your camel but you can

[46:27]live without your shield he sold his shield and that was the

[46:31]mahara tunis brothers and sisters she had the most humble wedding go

[46:36]to our weddings today how much do we spend on our weddings

[46:38]brothers and sisters how much do we spend and someone was telling

[46:44]me the average wedding here in dearborn people spend a hundred thousand

[46:48]dollars why don't just look at the bride and groom there's 500

[46:52]people how much does each attendee spend every lady has to go

[46:57]and get her makeup done right how much does that cost fifty

[47:00]dollars a hundred dollars 150 i don't know right you have to

[47:05]buy a dress he was telling me you can't wear the same

[47:09]dress twice i wore this dress last month i can't wear it

[47:12]again correct and the dress how much does that cost 200 300

[47:15]500 mah allah 1000 go up you have to buy new shoes

[47:20]for the men they have to buy a new tuxedo they have

[47:22]to buy a new um you have to also buy you know

[47:28]new clothing the perfume the makeup this that the food that is

[47:32]brought and unfortunately some of the weddings in our communities they bring

[47:35]the singer correct they bring the singer and they pay him thousands

[47:41]of dollars and then when there's a problem a couple of months

[47:43]they come to us say it please help us in our marriage

[47:46]your entire marriage was built upon sin upon haram you want allah

[47:51]to give you a beautiful marriage and then when you have a

[47:55]problem you come with i don't have miracles brothers and sisters but

[47:57]there are things preventive measure measures that we can do before these

[48:03]problems happen what do we base our marriages on brothers and sisters

[48:07]it's all money materialism for men it's the looks for sometimes even

[48:10]we can't generalize but many times for you know the father the

[48:15]mother when they want the the son-in-law it's how much money does

[48:17]he have in his bank account correct what's his career it's all

[48:21]about dunya it's all about materialism and you know what the problem

[48:24]is this does not ensure happiness i wish it brought happiness to

[48:30]the girl and to the guy it does not there was a

[48:31]study i read in emory university when i say the quran says

[48:36]people don't buy it but when i say university says yes now

[48:38]this is scientific amory university they did a study the study showed

[48:46]that the woman who prioritized when they chose their husband who prioritized

[48:57]wealth wealth was important meaning the financial status of their husband was

[49:02]a big deal for them i'm not saying this is not important

[49:04]it's important don't go and get married to a homeless individual but

[49:07]some people they make it the biggest deal this is the only

[49:12]important thing this study was saying that for women that made the

[49:18]financial status of their husband the priority they were 60 more likely

[49:23]to get in a divorce than women who did not care too

[49:27]much about the financial aspect 60 by focusing on the materialism there

[49:31]is a 60 chance higher chance that my relationship will end in

[49:37]divorce and for the men it said for men who focus on

[49:39]just the looks 50 chance higher chance that they would end up

[49:45]in a divorce fatima comes to rasulullah she's upset because she's hearing

[49:50]this that imam ali is poor rasulullah tells her ali may be

[49:55]poor in the dunya but ali has something that no individual on

[50:01]earth possess and that is his personality his character his iman ali

[50:06]fears allah ali is someone i can trust you are my you

[50:10]are my you know my soul o father i can trust you

[50:13]in the hands of ali why because ali fears allah i know

[50:18]he will never hurt you i know he will never abuse you

[50:22]because he fears allah what's the point of having a millionaire husband

[50:29]if he comes drunk at night and he doesn't know what he's

[50:32]doing what's the point what will that money do for my daughter

[50:34]this is for the parents they just want as long as he's

[50:38]wealthy alhamdulillah my daughter will be happy no if there is no

[50:41]iman no piety fear of allah what will all the money of

[50:45]the world do if he does not fear allah and he comes

[50:47]drunk at night when i say this that means there are stories

[50:50]of this in our own communities what's the point of having all

[50:53]the money of the world if the husband abuses the wife either

[50:58]verbally and physically because he does not fear allah the one who

[51:01]abuses his wife does not fear allah azzawajal you don't like her

[51:04]you don't you don't love her divorce her why do you abuse

[51:09]her it says haram the quran says if you don't like your

[51:11]wife divorce her you have no right to keep her and abuse

[51:16]her either live with her with kindness you don't like her there

[51:19]are problems and get a divorce but no to keep her and

[51:24]to abuse her and to physically or verbally abuse her and oppressor

[51:27]the quran says this is haram so rasulullah tells her imam ali

[51:33]has something that money can never buy and that is what taqwa

[51:37]fear of allah brothers and sisters when you look for the spouse

[51:41]i know the money is important i know the looks are important

[51:46]but there is something that is much more important than this this

[51:49]will give you long lasting happiness in them in the long term

[51:53]and that is piety and that is faith when you focus on

[52:00]this allah azzawajal will ensure that you have a beautiful life and

[52:04]subhanallah the same the same study that i cited emory university found

[52:09]that the more you spend they found this trend the more couples

[52:13]spend on their wedding the higher the chances of divorce was that

[52:18]spend that splurge on their wedding on the ring the wedding ring

[52:22]they had a higher chance of getting divorced and i said look

[52:26]at our communities how much we spend all of this is getting

[52:28]even if it's halal materialism does not help us it does not

[52:32]buy happiness we say this over and over again but unfortunately nobody

[52:38]listens so rasulullah tells her will not make you happy it is

[52:43]piety taqwa the personality of your husband that will make you happy

[52:49]imagine if we were to take these lessons and apply in our

[52:52]lives you know every week we have tons of calls in our

[52:55]community people that want marriage counsel people that are on the brinks

[53:00]of divorce if we were just to follow these simple advice of

[53:03]rasulullah bait then the rate of divorce the problems in our communities

[53:08]the marital problems would be much much less and this is why

[53:14]imam alaihissalam himself said after fatima alaihissalam died you know what imam

[53:22]ali said he spoke about how he used to treat fatima he

[53:26]said this for allah he says he's swearing by the might of

[53:38]allah this is imam ali you know he's not exaggerating he says

[53:43]i never angered fatima even once in my life you think money

[53:48]can buy this where do you find such a husband he says

[53:53]i never angered her i never upset her even once in my

[53:57]life i never forced her to do anything until the day that

[54:02]allah azzawajal took her until the day that she died and then

[54:05]likewise he said the and then he says and i likewise she

[54:14]never upset me right i never upset her and she never upset

[54:20]me she never upset me she never resisted anything i told her

[54:23]even if i asked something she never told me no she never

[54:27]made me upset where do you find such a beautiful relationship brothers

[54:30]and sisters money you think could buy this the looks can buy

[54:34]this wallahi they cannot allah tells us this in the quran the

[54:37]prophet tells you this imam ali tells us this and then even

[54:42]new study tells us and this is the most beautiful part of

[54:45]what imam ali says about his wife father he says [Music] any

[54:59]time i used to have stress i used to have a difficult

[55:04]day i would look at the face of fatima and i would

[55:09]forget about all my stress and agony how many men are privileged

[55:14]with having such a wife that when i have a difficult day

[55:16]i come home and i see my wife and i forget all

[55:20]about my stress i forget all my agony spend millions of dollars

[55:26]on your wedding spend millions of dollars on your marriage wallahi you

[55:32]can never buy this beautiful feeling that imam righteousness and god consciousness

[55:39]can bring you this any time i used to go to my

[55:41]house i would look at fatima just the look and i would

[55:45]forget about all my allah stress was the stress reliever for amir

[55:50]al-mu'mani these are the beautiful lessons and that's why when imam ali

[56:01]lost fatima he was so heartbroken he could never forget the beautiful

[56:07]days that he was with fatham because fatima was truly an angel

[56:11]and her character in her demeanor in her where could imam ali

[56:16]ever find someone like fatima that's why when he lost he was

[56:22]in so much pain after he buried fatima and fatima was buried

[56:28]all alone not too many people participated in the burial of fatima

[56:33]it was done at night only a few of the loyal companions

[56:38]of imam ali alaihissalam attended the burial of fatima imam hasan and

[56:43]hussain they were young they attended asma and they were the servants

[56:47]of imam ali alayhi who helped in the house house they attended

[56:53]after imam ali buried fatima he stood on her grave and he

[57:00]was filled with so much with so much agony his heart was

[57:04]bleeding over falmouth that he lost her at such a young age

[57:09]he was only 18 when he lost her he was she was

[57:13]only 18 when imam ali alaihissalam was deprived of her so amir

[57:18]al-mu'manin stood on her grave and he read two lines of poetry

[57:24]wallahi these two lines they break the heart it shows you the

[57:26]condition of imam adi how much he was in pain he stood

[57:31]on the grave of fatima and he said these two lines of

[57:35]poetry he said [Music] he said every relationship every friendship between two

[57:59]individuals a day will come in which in this relationship a day

[58:05]will come in which they will be separated and as long as

[58:10]the imam says as long as you are still surrounded by your

[58:14]loved ones as long as you have your loved ones around you

[58:17]then you have seen nothing yet then thank allah and then he

[58:29]said only a few days ago and right he says that the

[59:05]fact that i lost rasulullah and fatima within such a short period

[59:10]is the greatest testimony that this life is so worthless as long

[59:15]as allah has given you this he says after my father amir

[59:36]al-minine buried my mother i saw his tears began to fall down

[59:41]on his cheek he turned towards the grave of rasulullah that now

[60:10]you are united with her that now has ask her to tell

[60:45]you what they did to her all of the oppression and all

[60:50]of the injustice that she saw ask her because she never complained

[60:53]to me she never told me but now i ask you to

[61:24]go [Music] awakened in the middle of the night she does not

[61:55]find her mother father man or her father ali and she is

[62:01]crying lonely imam ali goes back to the house he sees zainab

[62:04]is crying in a corner my dear father i woke up i

[62:09]fought them and my mother is not there and you were not

[62:16]there my dear father all alone just this one word and i

[62:19]will end then what and she received no comfort in fact all

[62:48]the sudden she sees shimmer behind him and he is [Music] foreign

[63:09][Music] brothers and sisters let us raise our hands and supplicate to

[63:22]allah subhanahu wa ta'ala together everyone together [Music] to grant us our

[63:45]hajjaj to forgive us of our sins anyone that has a hajj

[63:49]allah grant them their hundreds anyone that is sick we ask you

[63:54]to grant them full shiva and recovery hasten the reappearance make us

[64:01]amongst his companions and supporters enable us to follow in the footsteps

[69:30]left broken like her rib she would call out to fifa she

[69:44]would ask for her beloved they displayed no mercy for their actions

[69:55]they would never repent for their actions they would never no matter

[70:17]how close she still remains far all together searching for her grave

[70:23]like no matter how close [Music] [Music] checking if she's gone or

[71:06]it's just written hoping it's just one bad dream the tears from

[71:13]her eyes began to stream o hussain come and see our mother

[71:22]o hussein come and see our mother hassan called out to his

[71:28]dear brother the angels gathered for such a sight the angels gathered

[71:33]for such a sight the world turned forever into searching for her

[72:11]no matter buried with her buried with her secrets and heavenly sand

[72:25]almighty rise for it's time to learn almighty rise for it's time

[72:35]to learn our hearts have broken through the ears as our eyes

[72:40]for you are filled with tears every year her tragedy you don't

[72:45]forget as outside her door you with your hands raised you ask

[73:02]and pray oh my lord hasten for me that [Music] searching for

[73:29]a star no matter how close she still remains far buried with

[73:38]her secrets and heavenly sand buried with her secrets and heavenly sand

[73:45]almighty rise for it's time to learn almighty [Music] rise for its

[73:59]time on this sad occasion of the relief to all those who

[74:27]are oppressed to cure all those who are ill to hasten in

[74:29]their appearance of our beloved master and imam sahib allah and for

[74:35]that we recite suratul mubarak before the loudest of your salawat you
