[0:09][Music] aldam my dear brothers and sisters I would like to offer

[1:13]my sincerest congratulations to all of you my dear brothers and sisters

[1:17]on this beautiful auspicious occasion the birth of our holy prophet Muhammad

[1:28]sallallah our holy prophet according to historians was born in the year

[1:39]570 after the birth of Jesus and he passed away on 633

[1:47]he was 63 years old when he passed away he spent 40

[1:55]Years of his life in Mecca before receiving revelation of from Allah

[2:03]subhanahu wa ta'ala 13 years after receiving Revelation in meca and he

[2:10]spent his last 10 years in Medina he totally spent 23 years

[2:20]of his great life preaching the message of Allah subhanahu taala and

[2:25]inviting people to the path of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala there are

[2:34]many lessons and many takeaway lessons we can take and learn from

[2:39]the life of our holy prophet sallallah alaihi wasam and with no

[2:45]exaggeration I can go on and on and on and speak for

[2:52]so many hours just to illustrate to you the great achievement of

[3:00]this man but I would like to focus on five takeaways Five

[3:08]Lessons Muslims should learn from our holy prophet sallallah alai wasam because

[3:15]if I ask you this a question you Muslims are celebrating the

[3:20]birth of a man who was born 14 centuries ago fine that's

[3:31]good but what does this have to do with me how can

[3:35]I relate to to the life of this person after 14 centuries

[3:41]in another word what does the life of the Prophet mean to

[3:47]me for someone who lives in the 21st century in modern day

[3:54]America how do I relate to his life other than celebrating and

[4:03]having fun and having nice dinner and getting together what else beside

[4:07]that I can benefit from the life of the Prophet sallallahu alaihi

[4:16]Ali wasam so here are five takeaways and please listen to me

[4:21]carefully and I'm going to try to shift between Arabic and English

[4:24]as much as I can but you know time is of of

[4:30]essence I giving only 30 minutes to speak and I am also

[4:35]asked to speak two languages that's almost an unsurmountable task but I

[4:40]will try to do my best inshallah muham the first lesson we

[5:25]learn from the prophet is how to be consistent how to be

[5:33]patient how to maintain perseverance and basically how to be strong I

[5:49]don't mean strong physically that's not my domain to teach you how

[5:56]to be physically strong you need to find a personal trainer to

[5:59]teach you how to build muscles that's not my job my focus

[6:06]is how to learn from the prophet to develop a strong personality

[6:15]as a Muslim living in the United States we all face certain

[6:20]challenges as a woman sometime I get intimidated by others who look

[6:30]up me sometime with uh I would say uh contempt as a

[6:40]Muslim who has who carry a Muslim name how do I move

[6:48]forward in a society that may not like how my name sounds

[6:52]this is something we learn from the prophet sallallahu alaihi Ali wasam

[6:57]when the prophet was teaching Islam and preaching you cannot even imagine

[7:05]you cannot even fathom the amount of pressure he was facing while

[7:13]conducting his job preaching the word of God today when I preach

[7:19]the word of God when I give you a lecture I come

[7:25]in a comfortable car air conditioned car a chauffeur bringing me a

[7:33]chauffeur taking me back sitting here along in this air conditioned Hall

[7:40]nice beautiful Hall not fearing any person to come and shoot me

[7:45]or attack me physically and then I go back sit in my

[7:49]car and go back feeling absolutely safe and respected but when the

[7:59]prophet sallallah alaihi Al wasam was preaching the message of Allah he

[8:04]was enduring a lot physically and emotionally physically history tells us that

[8:13]sometime the prophet goes to the Masjid Masjid Haram in Mecca to

[8:22]pray while he's praying while he's prostrating doing sujud mackin's gang up

[8:32]around him mocking him attacking him cussing at him and physically harassing

[8:39]him Abu jahel a name is very familiar to most of you

[8:46]would come to the prophet and he put his filthy feet on

[8:50]the neck of the Prophet while the prophet is doing sujud and

[8:56]he presses and presses and presses till the prophet is about to

[9:01]choke up and everybody is watching and laughing and cheering him up

[9:06]in such environment the prophet was preaching the message of Allah subhah

[9:13]wa tala where they would call him names there was a weirdo

[9:18]guy in Mecca called IB ABI they would use that name as

[9:22]a nickname for the prophet sallu alai to just Mark him to

[9:30]belittle him then there was nothing in this dis in their disposal

[9:33]that they did not use against the prophet of from a physical

[9:42]Warfare to psychological warfare and in between all things they were able

[9:47]to use once calling him a kah a a monk sah imag

[10:01]iici mnon insane mentally ill to the point where they sometime throw

[10:09]rocks at him in this very hostile environment the prophet continued he

[10:17]never gave up he continued his mission he never complained wow I'm

[10:23]tired today I don't want to do with I I want to

[10:28]be done with this with them what and instead of praying against

[11:48]them praying and instead of cursing mechans the prophet prays for them

[11:54]he never gave up to the point that mechans asked his uncle

[12:03]Abu Talib this a great man a man who is hardly appreciated

[12:11]by Muslims today a man who dedicated his entire life and Mission

[12:17]to protecting his nephew Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaihi Al wasallam but then

[12:28]you find naive Muslims calling him mushrik atheist calling Abu Talib who

[12:38]dedicated his entire life to protect Prophet Muhammad sallallahu alaih wasallam they

[12:46]go to Abu Talib and they tell Abu Talib AB Talib we

[12:50]ask you to deliver this message to your nephew tell him tell

[12:54]him to stop mocking our our Idols ask him him to stop

[13:02]preaching Islam we don't want to hear that we don't want someone

[13:07]to tell us that our deity is wrong tell him we will

[13:14]give him anything he wants if he's interested in marrying the most

[13:19]beautiful woman we will find him the most beautiful woman and we

[13:23]will have a marry her if he is is interested in cash

[13:27]we will fund raise for him and we will make him the

[13:32]most richest man in Mecca if he wants to be the king

[13:38]of Arabia we are willing to anoint him as the king of

[13:40]Arabia just tell him to stop doing what he's doing Abu Talib

[13:45]comes to the prophet and he says my dear nephew not that

[13:52]I support their message not that I believe in their message I'm

[13:56]just delivering a message to you from them this is what what

[13:59]they say this is what they are offering you you want a

[14:05]beautiful woman they will find you the most beautiful woman in the

[14:07]Arabian Peninsula and she's yours if you want money if you're seeking

[14:15]wealth if you are making all this commotion to become wealthy then

[14:19]they are willing to pay you as much as you want if

[14:24]you are seeking power they are willing to make you the king

[14:27]of Mecca just tell us what do you want tell them what

[14:34]do you want go tell them my beloved Uncle go tell them

[14:55]my uncle if they put the son in my right hand the

[15:02]moon in my left hand so I would abandon my mission I

[15:05]will never do that until I Prevail or I die go tell

[15:12]them I will never stop I will continue I believe in this

[15:20]I believe in my mission I'm not doing what I'm doing out

[15:24]of doing something fun I'm not doing this because I want to

[15:34]just have some fun in fact there is no fun for me

[15:38]all I am getting out of this is headache humiliation pain and

[15:45]suffering but I do this because I believe in this Mission this

[15:52]is my mission I am God's messenger and I'm not going to

[15:55]abandon my message Allah had commissioned me to deliver this message and

[16:00]I'm not I'm not going to stop Abu Talib tells him my

[16:08]beloved nephew go ahead and do whatever you see fit and I

[16:11]shall continue to support you and I shall continue to protect you

[16:51]when he died Allah subhanahu waala sent jbel angel jbel telling the

[16:59]prophet leave Mecca get out of Mecca your main protector your main

[17:07]Defender died and that is Abu Talib go find another place and

[17:10]Allah will support you and that's why he moved to Medina and

[17:14]the prophet sallallahu alaih Al wasam goes up on the hill the

[17:24]adjacent Hill next to Mecca next to the Kaa he looks at

[17:32]the and his tears were flowing over his cheek while looking at

[17:38]the Kaa and he says meca I still love you despite all

[17:49]the pain I go through I still love you but what can

[17:56]I do your people are expelling me from this land that I

[18:00]happen to love and cherish Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala immediately sends down

[18:07]the Quran on the prophet oh you the prophet be assured the

[18:18]one who commissioned you with this Quran he shall bring you back

[18:25]to this land eight years later the prophet comes back to meca

[18:30]the second takeaway my dear brothers and sisters that we need to

[18:38]learn from the prophet that the prophet through his genius mind and

[18:45]through his big heart and through his giant ability he was able

[18:52]to turn every tragedy into the Bliss into opportunity an opportunity every

[19:02]tragedy he turns it into an opportunity this is something we Muslims

[19:08]need to learn you know what the Quran says Allah says in

[19:14]the Quran you may dislike something but it could be good for

[19:21]you if you know how to act I always say to those

[19:26]sisters who complain about hijab I say look maybe Allah through you

[19:31]is trying to introduce hijab to America I tell those Muslims Muslim

[19:38]student who live in remote cities in this country and have difficulty

[19:46]adjusting with the environment with the society I tell them look probably

[19:51]because of the difficulty you go through in maintaining your faith you

[19:57]are helping others to understand Islam and to get a closer look

[20:03]at Islam that's how the prophet sallallahu alaihi Al wasallam did it

[20:09]when he left Mecca he left Mecca as a fugitive L fugitive

[20:17]mckans set a reward an award actually for whomever bringing Muhammad sallallahu

[20:27]alaihi Ali wasam dead or life dead or alive if someone brings

[20:37]him dead or alive he will get 200 gold dinar a huge

[20:43]amount of cash at that time the prophet left meca alone with

[20:51]two individuals one companion and another uh guide navigating his way to

[20:57]Medina he arrived in Medina as a guest you know medin came

[21:09]out welcoming him with a beautiful the prophet stayed eight years but

[21:16]he was a planning and a planning and a planning with the

[21:23]support of Allah and with the support of those Muslims surrounding him

[21:27]he planned meticulous a plan 8 years later the prophet came to

[21:33]Mecca he conquered Mecca and he entered Mecca as a conqueror the

[21:43]same city that fought him tried to kill him and when they

[21:51]could not kill him they tried to undermine him the same city

[21:54]the prophet sallallahu alaihi Ali wasallam conquered and came under his rule

[22:02]within eight years only eight years this shows if you work hard

[22:07]in your life your hard work does not go unnoticed when you

[22:15]work very hard for your goal to achieve your goal eventually you

[22:21]will achieve your goal if you think strategically when you come to

[22:32]this country there are many opportunities for you if you seek education

[22:37]there are many opportunities for you to seek education if you seek

[22:42]business there are many opportunities for you if you sit home and

[22:49]you complain about how difficult to learn English to get integrated to

[22:53]pursue higher education you will get nowhere but if you work hard

[23:00]study hard eventually you will overcome any obstacle that's how Allah subhah

[23:06]wa ta'ala created us as a humans he had put so much

[23:12]potential in us that no matter what no matter how big obstacles

[23:19]we always can overcome those obstacles if we work strategically that's second

[23:27]that's the second lesson we learn from our holy prophet sallallah alaih

[23:34]was the third take away my dear brothers and sisters is that

[23:40]as Keen as he was in spreading The Message of Islam he

[23:48]was a very open-minded person he was not rigid like many Muslims

[23:53]today he was very flexible he had had a great understanding of

[24:01]our own shortcomings he knew he was dealing with humans not with

[24:06]angels and he was able to assess people's capacity and he was

[24:14]willing to forgive their shortcomings in the Second Battle of Islam it

[24:20]was a big disaster for Islam a big disaster Muslims were defeated

[24:26]miserably simply because they challenged their Prophet they did not listen to

[24:35]the instructions given to them by the prophet I don't want to

[24:39]go too much in details it will take me long to uh

[24:41]basically explain that the prophet instructed few fight fighters Muslim fighters to

[24:48]be stationed on the on the top of the mountain they did

[24:53]not listen to The Prophet they came down the enemy was able

[24:56]to encircle Muslims from all of around and basically rake Havoc to

[25:04]Muslims 70 Martyrs including Hamza Muslims were embarrassingly defeated that day the

[25:15]vast majority of the companions of the Prophet run away run away

[25:21]this is in the Quran only five people only five people stayed

[25:26]with the prophet out of over 1,000 Warriors only five remained with

[25:31]the prophet one of them was IM one of them was a

[25:38]woman a woman when men fled there was a woman fighting next

[25:42]to the prophet NBA but guess what the prophet did not tried

[25:52]them did not rebuke those Muslims he forgave them he knew that

[26:00]sometimes you will be the Victor but sometimes due to the fact

[26:06]that you're a human being sometime you may sustain defeat that's how

[26:11]life is one day you win the other day you lose that's

[26:20]the nature of life and therefore he did not hold no grudges

[26:25]against those Muslims who betrayed him in fact they betrayed Allah when

[26:31]they left the battlefield they ran away one of them one of

[26:37]them I'm not going to mention his name he ran away and

[26:40]he kept on running away and running away and running away till

[26:47]he got to the ocean the ocean is 300 km away and

[26:52]he stayed near the ocean waiting for the news to come back

[26:56]3 days later later he came back when the war was over

[27:02]all the dead were buried and everything settled the dust settled he

[27:07]came back the prophet smiled when he looked at him he says

[27:13]it's too much three days I understand someone may run away for

[27:20]a couple of hours but not for three days but the fact

[27:23]is the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasam was a very old open-minded person

[27:29]he knew that sometime people may betray him due to their impatience

[27:35]not everybody is like the prophet not everybody has his patience his

[27:41]vision not everybody shares his his strength not everybody shares his knowledge

[27:50]and that's why he was very flexible treating Muslims gently and carefully

[28:01]and with that's how he attracted people I was just talking to

[28:05]my dear brother say Ali in order to attract people to religion

[28:09]you don't need knowledge only you need as well Allah says to

[28:15]the prophet if you were a tough guy and rigid they would

[28:26]have all left you the prophet was the most flexible person one

[28:34]day the prophet inside the Masjid when a nomad Nomad person Arabi

[28:40]ban comes in the Masjid for the first time in his life

[28:46]and because it is the first time he is coming to the

[28:50]Masjid you know he needed the to use the bathroom those Arabs

[28:57]in the desert they have have no bathroom you know that so

[29:01]whatever it happens they just do it so he is inside the

[29:07]Masjid he needed to use the bathroom uh he never got to

[29:12]going to a bathroom because in his area there is no bathroom

[29:16]nothing is called bathroom so what this man did he went to

[29:24]a corner inside the Masjid he removed his clothes and he used

[29:28]urinated in the Masjid now imagine just imagine if someone does it

[29:32]right now what would happen there would be a big commotion right

[29:38]probably if someone does it right now he could be beaten by

[29:44]some of our friends physically harassed and that's what happened with this

[29:49]guy people went after this bwian they started screaming at him hering

[29:56]telling him what are you doing this is the Masjid you're making

[30:03]this Masjid NES stop the guy was terrified physically he was terrified

[30:14]and the prophet noticed that the prophet told Muslims leave him alone

[30:23]leave him alone what this guy did he made the Masjid NIS

[30:26]and there is a solution for that and the solution is just

[30:30]to rinse the Masjid and it will be over there is no

[30:36]need for you to attack this man physically and verbally and elimate

[30:42]him from coming to the Masjid and then he said his golden

[30:56]words he says be easy be at ease with people don't be

[31:08]tough with people some of you elimate other people from coming to

[31:13]to the Masjid simply because someone made a mistake we Muslims in

[31:19]America we need to bring people in we need to encourage people

[31:23]to come in and we need to make sure that we are

[31:26]Del delivering The Message of Islam in the most beautiful fashion that

[31:33]people can accept and understand this is Our obligation my dear brothers

[31:44]and sisters our moral obligation Allah subhah wa tala says invite to

[31:55]the path of your lord through wisdom and and good preaching not

[32:00]with the stick not with harsh words not with rebuking people not

[32:08]with attacking them verbally or physically this is one great lesson we

[32:12]can learn from our Prophet sallallahu alaihi even when you want to

[32:17]teach your children Islam teach them Islam in a nice way don't

[32:25]yell and scream don't tell them y don't do that do it

[32:33]in a nice way do it in a way they would like

[32:38]to go with you to the Masjid not hate to go to

[32:43]the Masjid do it in a very nice way associate Masjid with

[32:51]everything good don't let them feel that the Masjid is a place

[32:57]of coercion a m mid where I hate to go but I

[32:59]have to go just because I want to please my parents and

[33:03]that's why we have to be careful alhamdulillah I see that you

[33:07]guys have done a great job in attracting the youth the arabic

[33:13]speaking people the english- speaking people but there is always more room

[33:19]to improve my dear brothers and sisters bring non-muslims sometime I face

[33:25]non-muslims Christians and Jews who ask me are we allowed to come

[33:31]to the Masjid your Masjid I said of course we have nothing

[33:35]to hide we're not a cult let them come and see what

[33:38]we do what do we do we preach we teach we pray

[33:43]to Allah subhah wa tala do we have anything to hide in

[33:49]our religion in fact it would be nice if you bring non-muslims

[33:51]here to observe what we do this is a form of dawa

[33:59]let people see that we Muslims are not weird people we don't

[34:02]hide in the closet we're just normal people and we have many

[34:11]commonalities when with Christians and and Jews always make it easy for

[34:19]non-muslims to understand Islam don't widen the Gap with them in fact

[34:23]make it closer I was talking to Christian priest I told them

[34:26]you know Mr priest father there is one difference in the Quran

[34:33]between us Muslims and you Christians he said what I said one

[34:37]chapter in the last part of Quran Allah says that's the only

[34:51]difference we and Christians we agree on the entire Quran that's the

[34:55]only difference we have with the Christians the they believe God is

[34:59]begotten and he begot we don't believe that he's begotten or he

[35:06]begot he has no children and he has no father or a

[35:09]mother that's the only difference otherwise we and Christians we have so

[35:14]much in common now imagine if we can focus on those commonalities

[35:22]values Family Values there are many challenges that Muslim mlims face today

[35:30]in America especially this homosexuality Trend this is a threat not only

[35:35]to the Muslim families to the Christians as well because any religion

[35:40]that believes in God Jews Christians and Muslims they disagree with homosexuality

[35:46]it is in the tah Allah subhah wa tala speaks about the

[35:50]demise of two Villages Amura and sadum when they transgressed and they

[35:56]adapt with homosexuality always focus on commonalities with others that's how we

[36:04]can win the heart of other people that's how the prophet was

[36:07]able to win the heart of other people through his through his

[36:15]humility and finally my dear brothers and sisters I know I exceeded

[36:20]my time just give me five more minutes the final takeaway is

[36:28]education education education Islam emphasizes education there is no religion that encouraged

[36:38]and promoted education as much as Islam did what is the very

[36:43]first Ayah in the Quran read read in the name of your

[36:52]lord how many times Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala mentions knowledge in the

[36:59]Quran hundreds of times only and Scholars truly fear God the prophet

[37:14]tells Muslims seek knowledge from day one till last day of your

[37:26]life never stop learning never stop learning China at that time China

[37:36]at that time physically was further than moon now today to us

[37:44]because if you happen to be going to the moon and inshallah

[37:50]if you not you your children definitely will go to the moon

[37:53]and if you I'm not joking are promoting tours to the moon

[38:01]and you know there is competition between uh Elon Musk and Jeff

[38:07]basers who is going to run the first trip tourist trips to

[38:12]the to the moon so never rule out the possibility that in

[38:18]10 15 years there will be flight going straight nonstop to the

[38:24]Moon you go to the moon in the morning you come back

[38:27]the same day so going to the moon now takes less than

[38:32]a three days in the spaceship but going to China at that

[38:39]time 14 centuries ago would take more than three months the prophet

[38:44]says seek knowledge even if it takes you to China as far

[38:51]as China a trip that would cost you at least 3 months

[38:55]my dear brothers and sisters I encourage you for what I just

[39:00]saw now al- Mahi Academy if you want to protect your children

[39:05]from many social ills that are invading this country now that's the

[39:14]way to go to register your children in Islamic full-time schools not

[39:21]any schools we have to always emphasize academic excellence always our Islamic

[39:31]schools have to achieve the highest level of academic Excellence but I

[39:37]emphasize that my dear brothers and sisters otherwise if we do not

[39:44]do something today about our children if we do not protect them

[39:47]we will lose them I tell you we'll lose them look what's

[39:50]Happening Now in America it's very scary they are telling seven8 year

[40:01]old child if he is a boy they tell him you don't

[40:02]have to be a boy you can be a girl if you

[40:06]want to and if she's a girl they tell her you don't

[40:10]have to be a girl you can be a boy if you

[40:16]want to on top of that they are telling them if you

[40:17]want to switch to the other gender you can do it right

[40:22]away you don't need your parents' permission this is what happened in

[40:25]New Jersey lately my dear brothers and sisters and tomorrow it's going

[40:29]to be come happen in Ohio and then in Michigan where our

[40:35]children are told scary values a boy can be a girl a

[40:42]girl can be a boy or you can have a flow gender

[40:47]you can be one day a boy next day you can be

[40:47]a girl this is very scary my dear brothers and sisters and

[40:54]I'm warning you about it and the only way to cope with

[41:00]this social disease is by protecting our children through Islamic schools that

[41:06]teach them the right values but at the same time maintain High

[41:14]academic standard I Cote the prophet sallallahu alai wasam he says he

[41:28]says there will be a day coming on my um that for

[41:34]a man a person a Muslim to maintain his or her faith

[41:40]it feels like he is having a charcoal Light charcoal in his

[41:45]hand can you imagine carrying a charcoal in your hand for how

[41:51]long you can carry it how many seconds not even for a

[41:54]second that's how a it happens he says one day people in

[42:02]order to maintain their faith they have to struggle a lot and

[42:06]this is what's happening today my dear brothers and sisters we can

[42:11]we see it happening right before our eyes but we have to

[42:16]be up to the challenge we have to make sure that the

[42:19]trust given to us by Allah who are our kids those angels

[42:24]we take care we take excellent care of them so Allah will

[42:30]not hold us responsible because Allah tells us in the Quran if

[42:34]you mess up with your duty with your children I will hold

[42:40]you accountable in the day of judgment where Allah subhah wa T

[42:52]says protect yourself and your children from Hellfire we will be held

[43:05]accountable for neglecting our role towards our children I ask Allah subhanahu

[43:10]wa ta'ala to bless you all to protect you I would like

[43:14]to congratulate you one more time my dear brothers and sisters for

[43:18]the beautiful event the birth of our holy prophet sallai wasam I

[43:22]ask Allah subhah wa ta'ala to grant us his Zara in this

[43:30]dun in this world and his in and I ask Allah subhanahu

[43:32]wa taala to protect you all to bless you all and I

[43:37]ask you to pray for all your fellow Muslims in the West

[43:43]in the East wherever they are we ask Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[43:48]to spread peace and Justice around the world and got
