[0:36][Music] muhammad as we are continuing the tafsir of the holy quran

[1:06]and the smaller surahs in the quran we are at the surah

[1:16]number 94 and this surah and the surah before it surat and

[1:40]telling the prophet of the blessings that the prophet has achieved the

[1:45]blessings that rasulullah has that allah has given the prophet and since

[1:53]we are talking about the blessings upon rasulullah tonight we gather to

[2:03]commemorate and celebrate the birth anniversary of sayida zainab alaihissalam and the

[2:14]family of the prophets they are considered to be one of the

[2:21]greatest blessings upon rasulullah himself he considered his family to be a

[2:29]gift from allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to him and to mankind and

[2:34]to carry on his message and his legacy this is why allah

[2:41]tells him we have given you kother one of the meanings of

[2:50]kauthar is the pond the houth the pond of kothar in paradise

[2:54]but also another meaning of kothar is as the real the progeny

[3:02]the great progeny of rasulullah where the prophets he used to see

[3:10]his children and his grandchildren of course his only surviving daughter was

[3:15]fatima to zahra alaihissalam but the progeny of the prophets they are

[3:19]from fatima and say that she is the granddaughter the eldest granddaughter

[3:29]of rasulullah and the prophet would be very happy when he sees

[3:37]her and he named her in fact allah named her and the

[3:42]name the meaning of zainab is zayn ebb meaning the adornment zain

[3:51]is father the adornment of her father and this became a reality

[3:59]zainab people would call amir al-mu'min imam ali al-islam they would call

[4:04]him abu zainab even though he had abul hassan his oldest son

[4:07]is imam al-hassan or they could call him the father of hussein

[4:12]but they used to call him abu zainab why because they reached

[4:18]a time a circumstance where people were afraid to mention the name

[4:21]of imam ali alaihissalam because of bani umayya because of the persecution

[4:28]and the animosity towards imam ali so if you say you would

[4:32]be killed you say hassan you would be killed so in order

[4:37]to pass around the hadith of imam ali they used to tell

[4:44]each other said this and that and in fact zainab is so

[4:47]great where she kept the legacy and the mission of imam al-hussein

[4:53]and rasool allah alive after the day of ashura so now my

[4:59]dear brothers and sisters we go back to the surah surat this

[5:05]is surah number 94 in the quran and as we mentioned surah

[5:12]number 94 and 93.

[5:15]they are today scholars our they say in the quran when you

[5:22]are reciting the quran and another surah but if you recite surah

[5:28]you have to recite with it so these surahs they go hand

[5:38]in hand and the same with surah till feel and surat quraish

[5:41]if you recite surat al-fil you have to recite surat quraish in

[5:46]in the salah because some what some there's an opinion that says

[5:50]they might be one surah they might be one surah because the

[5:56]context the meanings they're all the same is talking about the prophet

[6:02]which inshaallah we will do later and also talking to rasulallah what's

[6:09]the theme of the surah the theme of the surah is to

[6:15]remind rasulullah of the blessings that allah has given him to give

[6:19]him good news to give him glad tidings that he will be

[6:24]victorious that allah will be with him and to remind rasulullah to

[6:30]be patient you have to be patient you're going to have to

[6:33]deal with challenges you're going to have to deal with enemies you're

[6:36]going to have hurdles many hurdles are going to be in your

[6:41]way you think being religious is easy you think being a prophet

[6:44]is easy you think inviting people to faith is easy some people

[6:47]they come to me and they say practicing my faith is very

[6:51]difficult i find it very difficult that is exactly how it's supposed

[6:56]to be allah says people think they're just going to say yeah

[7:03]let me just say i'm a muslim and then they're not going

[7:07]to be tested no every single individual if you declare to be

[7:13]a faithful person if you declare to believe in god and stand

[7:15]on the right path then you're going to find hurdles you're going

[7:20]to find obstacles in the way but this is how your iman

[7:23]is tested this is how your faith is tested and the surah

[7:29]reminds the prophet that he will face difficulties but allah subhanahu wa

[7:34]ta'ala will be him and allah will be the supporter of whoever

[7:37]stands with god god is the supporter of the mu'mineen and god

[7:46]was the number one supporter of rasulullah every heard all rasool allah

[7:53]faced allah subhanahu ta'ala would help him allah would be there for

[7:56]him allah never left him and similarly he will never leave us

[8:04]if we are sincere if we have genuine faith and strong iman

[8:10]and allah they come to encourage the prophet and these surahs they

[8:20]were revealed in mecca at a time where rasool allah and the

[8:23]muslims needed support they needed encouragement they needed something to strengthen their

[8:30]morale because they were persecuted they had no mosque they had nothing

[8:33]they were being attacked and harassed and assaulted from all directions allah

[8:38]subhanahu ta'ala brings down these reminders in the quran to strengthen their

[8:43]faith to strengthen their iman so the surah begins allah says in

[8:54]the quran did we not expand o muhammad your breast did we

[8:59]not expand your chest when you open up a chest the literal

[9:06]meaning is to cut something up this is why they call the

[9:11]pieces of meat meaning small pieces of meat you cut it up

[9:14]it becomes small pieces of meat however this is a metaphor did

[9:21]we not expand your trust meaning did we not give you the

[9:26]patience did we not give you the ability to endure the ability

[9:33]to persist and carry on with your faith and with your iman

[9:36]and this is exactly what happened to rasulullah rasulallah he was very

[9:44]patient he was very withstanding of the difficulties that he would face

[9:50]in his day-to-day life all of the challenges all of the obstacles

[9:55]that came towards him rasool allah was patient rasulallah had a positive

[9:59]outlook at life he was not a negative pessimistic person he was

[10:05]always a positive person he always saw the good in people rather

[10:09]than seeing the negative in people and this is the quality of

[10:12]a leader and this is the quality of a man of god

[10:17]a person who wants to spread religion a person who wants to

[10:21]spread faith you need to be patient you have to be patient

[10:24]you can't try to be a leader without being patient without dealing

[10:29]with the difficulties and the challenges of life people would assault the

[10:35]prophet people would harass the prophet people would verbally and physically abuse

[10:39]the prophet yeah rasool allah he was forgiving he was loving he

[10:44]was compassionate he was kind and this is the quality of a

[10:49]leader this is why musa alayhi salaam prophet musa allah subhanahu wa

[10:53]ta'ala sent prophet musa to confront pharaoh pharaoh was a king pharaoh

[11:00]used to claim that he was god and he had to enslave

[11:01]the israelites allah tells him oh musa you have to go and

[11:05]stand in front of pharaoh and confront him and tell him to

[11:07]stop and you're a prophet of god and confront pharaoh now this

[11:11]is a very difficult task go to pharaoh because he has transgressed

[11:24]so what does musa say musa if you want me to go

[11:31]to stand in front of pharaoh then open up my chest then

[11:37]open up my heart give me the patience give me the perseverance

[11:40]so that i can endure the difficulties that i am to be

[11:46]faced so you have to have a open chest you have to

[11:58]be this is a metaphor open chest means you have to be

[12:05]patient with the difficulties that you face and being patient is one

[12:09]of the key ingredients to a successful leader and these days today

[12:14]we are commemorating we are celebrating the birth of zainab say the

[12:19]zainab one of the words that comes to mind when you remember

[12:23]say the zainab is patience she was a leader and she was

[12:26]patient she saw all of the masaab she saw all of the

[12:31]tragedies in front of her yet she was patient and that is

[12:33]what made her successful that is what made her a hero that

[12:38]is remembered and her name is aligned with the name of imam

[12:40]and hussain until today you want to be a leader you want

[12:46]to guide people you have to be patient this is why allah

[12:48]reminds the prophet be patient be patient and don't be like the

[13:02]one who his story is with the well which prophet was that

[13:04]prophet yunus prophet yunus he saw his people he's calling them he's

[13:11]calling them he's calling them they're not listening to him they're ignoring

[13:13]him he said you know what forget you he did dua against

[13:17]them and he left of course out of all of the people

[13:22]that were punished the people of luth the people of saleh the

[13:25]mood and ad and all of these nations the people of yunus

[13:30]they were not punished why because he left them but then there

[13:33]was a knowledgeable person there was a scholar he tells them you

[13:37]have to do as the far you have to do tawba they

[13:41]repented and allah did not punish them eunice he ended up getting

[13:46]swallowed by a well of course this was a story and there's

[13:48]a reason there are many morals for this so allah tells the

[13:56]prophet they used to harass the prophet they used to abuse the

[14:02]prophet and allah tells them i know that what they're saying is

[14:05]hurting you but we have given you that power of patience we

[14:12]have expanded your heart in i asked my lord for something that

[14:29]i wish i had not asked him he says i asked my

[14:33]lord tells the prophet there were prophets before me who you gave

[14:47]them permission to control the wind like which prophet was that which

[14:50]prophet had control of the wind so the one who used to

[14:57]raise the dead which prophet was that prophet so then allah is

[15:03]telling god there were other prophets that had these powers i don't

[15:06]have these powers so he says allah tells him were you not

[15:15]an orphan and i supported you he said yes weren't you alone

[15:24]you didn't have anyone to support you and i was the one

[15:30]who supported you he said bella so here allah this hadith shows

[15:44]that in the opening of the heart and making someone patient and

[15:49]endure the difficulty this is a greater miracle than raising the dead

[15:54]and controlling the wind and this is what made rasool allah so

[15:56]great rasulullah he was so great because of his akhlaq rasulullah was

[16:00]so great because of his manners maybe he did not raise the

[16:05]dead now some some say rasulallah also he did all of the

[16:07]miracles of the other prophets but we don't have it somewhere solid

[16:11]the greatest miracle of the prophet is the quran and another miracle

[16:17]of the prophet was his personality he is described as a mercy

[16:20]to mankind the one who's patient the one who is the one

[16:27]who has the greatest morals and this is how we have to

[16:32]learn from our prophet my dear brothers and sisters today unfortunately we

[16:35]find many muslims they're very far away from the ways of the

[16:39]prophet we're not patient with others we're fighting we're we don't have

[16:44]good manners the hadith he says he says the prophet says you

[16:58]can't please people with your money even if you're a billionaire multi-billionaire

[17:01]you give people money the moment you stop giving them what are

[17:04]they going to do they're going to talk about you they're going

[17:07]to sue you they're going to sue you for 100 million something

[17:11]like that here you can't you can't support people you can't please

[17:17]people with money no matter who you are your money runs out

[17:21]however you can please people with your you could please people with

[17:26]your manners so this is greater than everything all of the wealth

[17:31]that a person has this is why you have to be sam

[17:36]why do they call the sayyid or the shaykh or samaha because

[17:39]you're supposed to have a vast heart you're supposed to be patient

[17:42]you're supposed to endure so this is how rasulullah was this is

[17:47]how the prophets they all were now some sunni traditions they're not

[17:55]in the shia books says that when the prophet was five years

[17:58]old when he was with halima sadia the lady that used to

[18:04]suckle the prophet one day a group of angels they came they

[18:07]opened up literally opened up the hearts of the prophet they took

[18:11]out his heart the chest of the prophet they took out his

[18:13]heart and they cleaned it and then they put it back this

[18:17]is something that some in the in the books of seerah it

[18:22]is mentioned we don't have that in our books we when we

[18:25]say this is the spiritual purity this is the support from allah

[18:33]subhanahu wa ta'ala and god was always with the prophet and we

[18:45]removed your burden means a burden someone who is who has a

[18:57]responsibility of carrying something this is why they call the minister of

[19:00]a country wazir why because he's carrying the burdens of the country

[19:04]so wiz means a burden this is why allah also describes the

[19:11]sins that we carry as auzar because we are carrying them they're

[19:15]a burden for us in this life and in the afterlife so

[19:22]allah says we remove that burden from you the burden that has

[19:31]weighed upon your back imagine carrying something so heavy that is breaking

[19:37]your back now there are some things that are spiritual or non-physical

[19:42]things immaterial things that could also break your back that you're carrying

[19:48]these burdens that you're carrying on your back and these are the

[19:52]challenges the everyday challenges that we're carrying these have an effect on

[19:57]a person if you're depressed if you're sad if you're sorrowful this

[20:01]is going to affect your soul and it's also going to affect

[20:07]your health you go to the doctor they say you have blood

[20:09]pressure you have diabetes you have heart problems one of the top

[20:11]reasons is stress anxiety so allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tells the prophet

[20:23]we removed that burden what was the burden upon rasulullah different opinions

[20:32]perhaps the greatest responsibility that the prophet had was the quran the

[20:37]revelation the wahi that came down upon upon the prophet sallallahu alaihi

[20:44]this is a difficult task the quran you would see that mountain

[21:03]would crumble it cannot bear the quran the wahi god would speak

[21:07]to rasulallah the quran would come directly on the heart of rasulallah

[21:11]this was a burden this was difficult for the prophet but god

[21:17]has supported him another opinion says this is the stubbornness of the

[21:24]of the polytheist of the muslim the harassment of the mushrikeen one

[21:29]opinion says the sorrow after the death of abu taliban khadijah this

[21:33]became the prophet became very sorrowful god tells him we supported you

[21:40]we are there for you and and we raised your name right

[22:00]now what is the most common name in the whole world the

[22:06]name every day muslims all over the world they say the name

[22:17]of rasulallah in the salah we have to send salawat upon rasulallah

[22:22]anyone who wants to become a muslim they the name of god

[22:32]is next to the name of rasulullah and god does not want

[22:35]a shariq but he has ordered for the name of rasulallah to

[22:39]be next to his name of course rasulullah is the abd he's

[22:44]the slave he's the servant of allah subhanahu wa ta'ala so this

[22:51]is today in every city in the world in every country in

[22:55]every town the name of muhammad is mentioned the name of rasulallah

[22:59]has mentioned and my dear brothers and sisters we need to be

[23:04]proud if your name is muhammad or if you have someone in

[23:06]your family if you have someone in your family and your children

[23:11]name your children muhammad there are today some people they come and

[23:14]they name names that are going to be easy so that the

[23:16]americans the white people could pronounce it they don't ask you they

[23:21]don't ask for your opinion before they name their names why do

[23:24]you have to ask for someone else's opinion name your name a

[23:29]name that is the name of rasulullah that is the best name

[23:31]to name the names of rasulullah the names that bring you closer

[23:37]to allah subhanahu wa ta'ala we have to be proud of our

[23:40]identity we have to be proud of our names this is the

[23:43]name of rasulallah and then allah says in perhaps this is the

[23:58]most important spiritual support and glad tidings that rasulullah received why because

[24:04]rasool allah is in mecca every day the muslims they're being persecuted

[24:07]they're being harassed they're being abused they don't have supporters allah tells

[24:14]him you're dealing with difficulties right now let me tell you for

[24:22]indeed with hardship will be ease and relief indeed with hardship there

[24:31]will be ease and relief and this is repeated twice this is

[24:38]first of all telling rasool allah telling rasulallah now you might be

[24:43]oppressed you might be harassed now you might be a minority but

[24:47]you are going to be successful with difficulties comes ease indeed with

[24:55]difficulty comes ease this is also telling us my dear brothers and

[24:59]sisters everything in life you want to go to school you want

[25:02]to get a degree you want to get a job you want

[25:04]to have a successful family you want to run a successful business

[25:07]you need to strive this is the rule of life if you

[25:11]strive you work hard you will succeed know that with difficulty comes

[25:31]ease if you're going through difficulty you're going to find ease this

[25:34]is the rule of nature this is the rule of allah subhanahu

[25:37]wa ta'ala with patience there's victory be patient and you will find

[25:46]victory and ease and allah will open the way for you after

[25:54]you go through difficulties sometimes we have to be patient sometimes this

[25:59]surah this this is something that helps us endure difficulties some people

[26:04]they want always to be happy always no problems no there's problems

[26:08]in life there's challenges in life but we need to tell ourselves

[26:13]with difficulty comes ease one day a lady comes to imam salaam

[26:19]she tells him my husband is not spending on me my husband

[26:24]he's not giving me the nafaka so the islamic ruling is that

[26:29]the hakim he forces the husband you have to spend on your

[26:33]wife or imprison him he is imprisoned imam allah this man he's

[26:40]poor he really he literally doesn't have anything so imam ali he

[26:44]comes and he tells her be patient be patient and you will

[26:50]find ease you will find a solution and he does increases her

[27:02]patience the seventh and eighth verses so when you have finished your

[27:10]duties then stand up for worship remember it is god who opened

[27:13]your chest it is god who has given you has removed your

[27:17]burdens with longing with love a lot of people when they have

[27:28]difficulties in life once the difficulty is gone they forget allah they

[27:33]forget that it was god who supported them it was god who

[27:35]was there for them they're too busy because they're too busy enjoying

[27:39]their success but allah is telling the prophet you became successful you're

[27:44]going to become successful now a sunni scholar he says he mentions

[28:07]a hadith from imam sadiq alaihissalam in his book in the tapsir

[28:14]of this verse preaching people telling people about the religion when you

[28:30]are done appoint ali allah tells you you're going to have glad

[28:33]tidings you're going to be successful now appoint another hadith he also

[28:44]mentions this hadith he says of course they mention this hadith but

[28:50]they argue against them but the fact that they're mentioning them is

[28:54]also proof so he says when you're done preaching people telling people

[29:02]the religion then you have to appoint the imam after you my

[29:05]dear brothers and sisters we ask allah subhanahu wa ta'ala to open

[29:11]all of our hearts to bless us and to give us ease

[29:14]after difficulties and ease with the challenges that we face in our

[29:21]life i congratulate you once again on the birth anniversary of say

[29:24]the zainab and inshallah next week i will not be here i

[29:26]will be going for the ziara insha allah i will keep you

[29:30]all in my dua in my ziyarah wherever i go and inshallah
