[0:00][Applause] [Music] Musta Muhammad [Music] [Music] many of us worship Allah subhanahu

[0:46]wa [Music] taala because we are afraid of the punishment of Allah

[0:54]we are afraid that Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will hold us accountable

[1:01]on the the day of judgment and many of us focus on

[1:08]the idea of fear creating something that we are afraid of in

[1:14]our minds and then that is the drive that pushes us to

[1:20]worship Allah subhana wa taala that is what makes me wake up

[1:26]to pray F prayer that is what makes me to follow all

[1:30]of the Islamic guidelines because I'm afraid of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[1:36]now this is a drive this is one of the means where

[1:41]people can get closer to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala and Allah subhah

[1:46]tala mentions this drive this means in numerous ways in the Quran

[1:53]when Allah speaks about the day of judgment when Allah speaks about

[1:57]the Hellfire when Allah speaks about the death and the afterlife and

[2:01]how everyone will be held accountable this is using this drive however

[2:12]he has a beautiful Hadith he says that there are other means

[2:20]there are other drives that could motivate a person to get closer

[2:24]to Allah subhanahu wa taala he says there are three types of

[2:30]worshippers there are three types of there is one who worships Allah

[2:38]subhanahu wa ta'ala out of fear and then says and that is

[2:50]the worship of the slaves because the mo the main motivation that

[2:56]makes them obey Allah subhah wa ta'ala is Their Fear the fear

[2:59]of punishment and then he says and then there is a second

[3:05]Drive there's a second drive that makes people worship Allah subhanahu wa

[3:12]taala and that is the drive the one who sees the paradise

[3:19]and he hears the verses in the Quran that speak about the

[3:25]Jenna and the afterlife and the blessings and then he says yes

[3:31]does make sense I just have to worship Allah for 50 60

[3:34]70 years and then I have eternal Paradise this is a very

[3:40]good transaction so then he says I will worship Allah for the

[3:43]sake of paradise and then says this is also a drive that

[3:49]motivates people to worship but then he says this is the worship

[3:55]of the business person the one who has made a business transaction

[3:57]with Allah subhana wa ta'ala and there's there's nothing wrong with that

[4:01]Allah subhana tala speaks about a type of he speaks about individuals

[4:10]that sell their lives for the sake of the afterlife this is

[4:13]a Tara this is a business with Allah subhana wa tala but

[4:16]the lowest the first was was the fear of the punishment and

[4:22]then the second group is the ones who worship Allah for the

[4:25]sake of paradise and then he says and there's a third group

[4:32]and that is the one who see that Allah is deserving to

[4:36]be worshiped Allah deserves to be worshiped so they worship Allah subhanahu

[4:41]wa ta'ala he says this is the worship of the free man

[4:46]this is the worship of the free individual the one that does

[4:52]not look for a gain to gain something from Allah or is

[4:55]not afraid of anything but he knows that Allah deserves to be

[4:58]worshiped and when we actually sit and we think about it we

[5:04]see that Allah does deserve to be worshiped he gave us everything

[5:07]that we have every breath of our lives every breath that we

[5:13]take this is from Allah subhana wa ta'ala every moment Every Blessing

[5:17]everything that we have in our lives this is from Allah subhana

[5:20]wa tala doesn't it make sense for me to show appreciation Allah

[5:26]has given me 24 hours a day how long does it take

[5:34]me to pray 17 raas 17 ra say each ra is one

[5:38]minute and then add the time of wo say half an hour

[5:40]30 minutes Allah has given you 24 hours for a person a

[5:48]just person would say it's okay if I give 30 minutes of

[5:53]my day to Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala this is the one who sees

[5:55]that Allah deserves to be worshiped and this is the the highest

[6:00]level of this is the ones who have fallen in love with

[6:06]Allah subhah wa ta'ala the ones who yearn that closeness with Allah

[6:10]subhanahu wa ta'ala this is the of one like or or the

[6:19]who he says in onei he says one for me he says

[6:32]one unit of Prayer in this life this is better for me

[6:38]than heaven and what it has why because when I am praying

[6:43]one ra I'm speaking to Allah I'm connected to the one who

[6:46]created Paradise so what is the value of paradise when I'm speaking

[6:51]to the one who created paradise and this is the viy the

[6:56]beauty my dear brothers and sisters we have the opportunity to connect

[6:59]with Allah subhah wa ta'ala five times a day we can speak

[7:07]to Allah we can build a relationship with Allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala and

[7:11]a relationship that is based on love is much stronger and much

[7:20]more powerful than a relationship that is based upon fear sometimes we

[7:26]see that certain individuals we use they use religion to bring fear

[7:31]in the hearts of people they scare people through religion but that's

[7:38]not the way religion is religion is not a tool of fear

[7:42]religion is a means of loving it's a way of loving and

[7:48]we should stress on the mercy of Allah subhana wa ta'ala on

[7:55]the loving aspect when it comes to worshiping Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[7:59]and we have ai from IM he says love is a much

[8:10]stronger Drive than the drive of fear right now you see in

[8:16]a classroom especially with little kids the moment the par the teacher

[8:20]leaves the classroom what happens in the classroom there's chaos and they

[8:25]start yelling and shouting and throwing paper this is natural because the

[8:32]only thing that is keeping them from not doing that is the

[8:35]fear they're afraid of the teacher but if someone loves the teacher

[8:39]and knows that the teacher will be upset if we did some

[8:44]something like this you see that this person the teacher is in

[8:46]the class or out of the class they're going to behave at

[8:52]all times so we should have a fear uh we should have

[8:54]a relationship with Allah that is based upon love so that when

[8:58]people are not not around us our parents are not around us

[9:03]other people are not looking at us we will worship Allah in

[9:07]a way that we would do in front of other people this

[9:10]is the best form of relationship the one that yearns for the

[9:16]mercy of Allah subhah [Music] waala the ones who believe and have

[9:31]faith their hearts find satisfaction when they remember Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[9:37]and then Allah says yes indeed it is through the remembrance of

[9:45]Allah that the hearts will find peace when they remember Allah subhah

[9:52]wa ta'ala so we live a lifestyle in this materialistic lifestyle a

[10:00]material life where everything revolves around objects everything revolves around money everything

[10:07]revolves around things I go to work I go study I do

[10:12]everything so that I could make money I go and I make

[10:13]money I spend it buying things I buy these things so that

[10:18]I could find comfort and eventually I see that I'm not Comfort

[10:22]because we're missing the main the main equation the main solution to

[10:30]happiness Allah says it very clearly it is through the remembrance of

[10:37]Allah that the hearts will find peace so therefore we must know

[10:45]Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala many of us we know a God that

[10:47]we have created a monster out of God and do you see

[10:53]groups today these terrorist groups like Isis Al they create monster out

[10:57]of religion when religion is not something something that people should be

[11:00]afraid of religion should be the place where people find Comfort especially

[11:06]the religion of Islam No matter what kind of sins you have

[11:10]committed no matter what you have done in your life the only

[11:15]place that you will find Refuge is Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in

[11:18]one verse Allah says tell my tell my servants the ones who

[11:28]have oppress themselves by sinning do not ever give up hope in

[11:40]the mercy of Allah because Allah forgives all of the sins but

[11:46]today there are certain groups that create a monster out of religion

[11:50]and they make people make religion and the mjid and the place

[11:55]of worship the last place that they will go to when that's

[11:58]not the case that's not how religion should be even with Allah

[12:05]subhah wa ta'ala Allah is all just Allah is all knowing he

[12:08]knows our actions but Allah subhana tala he's also he is he

[12:15]is the mercy giving the merciful don't we say in our prayers

[12:21]there are 99 Names of Allah subhah wa tala but he chose

[12:27]in this verse that we recite every day the mercy giving the

[12:33]merciful it is recorded that when this verse came down he who

[12:48]does a ounce a small atams weight of good they will see

[12:53]it see it on the day of judgment and he who does

[12:56]an Adam's weight of evil they will see it see it on

[13:01]the day of judgment so Allah he was standing in the Masjid

[13:03]and this verse came down Allah recited it in front of the

[13:10]Muslims so a man he stood he stood and he tells ohol

[13:14]Allah will Allah hold us accountable for even an Adam's weight even

[13:21]a small Adam's weight Allah told him yes he will see it

[13:31]the one who does an Adam's weight of good will see and

[13:35]the ones who does an Adam's weight of evil they will also

[13:41]see it so the man began to cry the man began to

[13:43]cry he said then therefore we have perished because if Allah is

[13:49]going to hold us accountable for the Adam's weight of evil it

[13:53]is most of us the wrong that we have done compared to

[13:58]what Allah has given me compared to the blessings of Allah upon

[14:01]me they are much more than the good all of us most

[14:08]of us the man began to cry and then a few moments

[14:09]later the man began to smile and he laughed so told him

[14:15]what happened to you at one second you were crying and now

[14:18]you are happy he says yes I'm happy because Allah subhah tala

[14:25]is Kim Allah is the generous because the generous one when he

[14:35]is capable of giving of becoming generous he will be generous and

[14:39]Allah he is capable of doing everything and he is the generous

[14:42]one so the man smiled he tells his companions hold on to

[14:56]this man go and take lessons from this man because this man

[15:00]truly understands Allah subhah wa ta'ala he has Y in Allah subhanahu

[15:08]wa taala so we need to have a relationship with Allah that

[15:12]is based that is motivated on love on love and building a

[15:16]relationship based on love and Allah says in the Quran the ones

[15:27]who have faith their love is the strongest Faith the strongest relationship

[15:32]with Allah subhah wa ta'ala this is the drive of love that

[15:37]they have you see some people that when they're in love you

[15:42]see how they act you see that they're always on their text

[15:45]cell phone texting or they're they're very excited they can't sleep well

[15:52]the ones who are in love with Allah they have a same

[15:54]type of relationship in the middle of the night they can't sleep

[16:01]why why because they have someone to speak to F time before

[16:04]fer they get up they wash their face they're very happy doing

[16:08]it because they know it's worth their time they anticipate the times

[16:15]of prayer this is the This Is The Love The Believers their

[16:21]love is much stronger towards Allah subhana wa tala than any other

[16:25]love that we see in this life because a love towards Allah

[16:29]is a love that we will see in this life and in

[16:31]the afterlife but there are many relationships in this life that's it

[16:37]you only know this person during this life after we leave this

[16:41]life that relationship will end that relationship will end but the relationship

[16:47]with Allah is a relationship that lasts forever so building a bond

[16:56]with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala this is the Great greatest form of

[17:00]love that we could have one that wakes someone up in the

[17:05]middle of the night Allah subhana wa tala speaks about the ones

[17:08]who have fallen in love with Allah they've allowed themselves to fall

[17:12]in love with Allah Allah says speaking about the people who pray

[17:27]in the middle of the night that's a drive of love that's

[17:31]a love drive when you're in love with someone you want to

[17:36]spend hours talking to this person Allah speaks about the ones who

[17:39]have fallen in love with him Allah says their bottoms they're lifted

[17:45]from their beds why because they call upon their lord fear and

[17:55]hope in Allah subhanahu wa taala and they give from what we

[18:03]have given them and then Allah says a verse that he does

[18:06]not say about any type of worship Allah any type of worship

[18:12]when it comes to prayer when it comes to Salah when it

[18:15]comes to zakat when it comes to Haj Allah mentions the reward

[18:18]the reward is known by the Angels they're counting the reward of

[18:24]that act however when it comes to tud when it comes to

[18:28]that bond that speaking to Allah in the middle of the night

[18:32]Allah says no one knows not even the angels they don't even

[18:43]know the reward of the person who stands in the middle of

[18:48]the night and speaks to Allah subhah wa tala this is a

[18:53]loving relationship now what is love we say we have to love

[18:56]Allah subhah wa tala we should build a relationship ship based on

[18:59]love how do we build a relationship based on love well why

[19:06]do we love things why do we fall in love in life

[19:10]sometimes I love a person sometimes I love a place sometimes I

[19:17]love an object why there are a few reasons why we fall

[19:20]in love in life one time you fall in love when you

[19:27]see apparent Beauty we human beings beings we are inclined to love

[19:31]something that is beautiful when you see something or a person that

[19:36]is beautiful there is something in our in ourselves that we we

[19:40]we feel that we are attached we want to be around this

[19:44]person and we see that this is something that's very common and

[19:50]not only with a person sometimes with things sometimes we would travel

[19:54]hours we're in the car just so we could go and stand

[19:59]in front of a waterfall Niagara Falls or you go and you

[20:01]look at a mountain or you go and you look at a

[20:03]sunset you see that people they're willing to pay hundreds of dollars

[20:09]just to go and look at something that's beautiful because we are

[20:14]naturally inclined to look at something that is beautiful this is one

[20:18]reason second we humans we love the inner beauty maybe something it

[20:25]might not be beautiful from the appearance from at first but then

[20:30]inside you see that this is something that's very beautiful for example

[20:36]our parents we love them because of their inner beauty we love

[20:41]them because of the favors that they have had upon us we

[20:43]love them because of the generosity that they've shown toward us the

[20:49]care this is all a type of inner beauty we love them

[20:51]or our imams why do we love our imams why do we

[20:57]love Al we did not see the face of Allah but we

[21:01]love rol Allah because of the generosity because of the offering because

[21:05]of what he offered what he gave and we have we have

[21:09]fallen in love with these are the the beauty but it is

[21:18]inner beauty and perhaps that beauty might be greater Beauty than the

[21:22]apparent Beauty because the apparent Beauty many times it goes away but

[21:26]then the long relationship the lasting relationships the marriage that lasts for

[21:32]40 and 50 and 60 years that is a marriage that lasts

[21:36]because of the inner beauty not because of the apparent Beauty and

[21:38]this is a very important issue when you're getting married you need

[21:43]to focus on the inner beauty and a third reason is because

[21:48]of the favors I love someone I feel attracted to someone if

[21:54]this person has done a favor to me if this person has

[21:58]taught me something if this person has given me something if this

[22:01]person has done something to help me at one point in my

[22:03]life this person has done towards me I feel that I'm indebted

[22:09]to this person I fall in love with this person and this

[22:13]is one of the main reasons why we love many people in

[22:17]our lives because we know that this person has done a favor

[22:20]upon me this person has saved my life this person has done

[22:22]something for me now these are the three reasons apparent Beauty inner

[22:30]beauty Beauty and someone who's done a favor upon me now let

[22:33]us come and compare these three reasons with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[22:38]when it comes to the apparent Beauty who was the creator of

[22:45]the beauty who is the one who created the Bea the beauty

[22:48]that we see who was the Allah subhah he is the one

[22:55]who shaped the body and the hair and the nose and the

[23:00]mouth and the the facial features in the womb of the mother

[23:04]isn't this the best artist right now we love artists we love

[23:08]art well go and look at what Allah subhana wa ta'ala has

[23:13]created he is the the creator of the beauty sometimes we go

[23:17]and we buy a painting for $200 $300 of mountains yes this

[23:25]is something very beautiful an artist he came and he he he

[23:28]painted mountains well who was the the original creator of the mountains

[23:34]who is the original creator of the beauty so why do I

[23:37]love the artist and not love Allah subhah wa ta'ala why do

[23:42]I love the beautiful figure the mountain and the waterfall and the

[23:46]beautiful person but I ignore Allah subhah wa tala isn't Allah the

[23:50]source of beauty isn't he more worthy of being loved second the

[23:56]inner beauty we love love someone because of they're generous because they're

[24:01]knowledgeable because they're they've done something that's very good we we are

[24:07]attached to this person well who is the source of be who

[24:09]is the source of knowledge who is the source of generosity who

[24:14]is the source of rahma and mercy isn't it Allah subhanahu wa

[24:19]ta'ala so isn't Allah more worthy of being worshiped we follow people

[24:24]because you see this person is a very knowledgeable person well Allah

[24:28]subhana tal he's the source of knowledge he is the one that

[24:31]gave that knowledge to that person that sometimes you love someone because

[24:37]this person he has he's hanon this person has that Mercy in

[24:44]their heart yes this is some a virtue this is something very

[24:46]good and we we love someone that has that but what about

[24:49]Allah subhah wa ta'ala isn't Allah the source of mercy and third

[24:55]and final one is the one who has done a favor upon

[25:00]you you love someone who's done a favor upon you what about

[25:03]Allah subhah wa ta'ala hasn't Allah done the greatest favor Upon Us

[25:09]Allah says if you try to count the blessings of Allah the

[25:20]mercy of Allah you will never be able to count it if

[25:22]you sit and count for the rest of your life Allah gave

[25:27]me this and this and this and this you will never be

[25:31]able to count it you will never be able to put a

[25:32]number on it because everything even you know some sometimes we say

[25:39]alhamdulillah we need to be thankful that we are able to say

[25:45]alhamdulillah because who gave me that power to say alhamdulillah who gave

[25:47]me the tongue who gave me the lips who gave me the

[25:52]ability to come to the mid someone might say I came to

[25:54]the Masjid this is my way of thanking Allah who's the one

[25:57]who gave you the ability ility to come to the Masjid there

[25:59]are many people that can't even go to a Masjid there's something

[26:05]wrong with them so we need to be thankful for the ability

[26:09]to be thankful so this is when it comes to loving Allah

[26:13]subhana wa tala when we look at it and through a materialistic

[26:16]way we see that Allah is the one that is most worthy

[26:20]of being loved Allah is the one that is most worthy of

[26:26]for us to have a relationship with in our lives and this

[26:29]is why when we look at the lives of the life of

[26:34]Allah and the IMs and the we see that they focused on

[26:39]this relationship with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala they focused on a relationship

[26:46]of love speaking to Allah subhah wa ta'ala as if they're speaking

[26:49]to someone that they love and that is what makes your bond

[26:51]stronger and more solid with Allah subhah wa ta'ala when it's fear

[26:58]or when it's just wanting something if it's fear the moment you

[27:01]see that you feel that the fear is lifted you start disobeying

[27:06]or when you want something the moment I got what I wanted

[27:09]i' we've seen many people they want to have a job they

[27:14]keep praying and crying and crying once they get a job that's

[27:16]it you don't see them doing Dua anymore they want to have

[27:20]a child they keep crying and praying to have a child once

[27:23]they have a child that's it you don't see them asking Allah

[27:27]subhana tala but the one that is truly in love with Allah

[27:29]this person will have a relationship no matter what and here we

[27:36]see the way that the imams speak to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala

[27:42]the one that has fallen in love with Allah we see in

[27:45]a p a portion of the Dua a portion of the Dua

[27:57]of IM IM the IM says [Music] says he says oh Allah

[28:12]where is the one that has felt that love with you and

[28:15]then he goes and he finds someone else if you have a

[28:22]relationship with Allah what does it mean to go and find a

[28:24]relationship with Allah subhanahu wa tala once you have tasted the love

[28:30]with Allah subhanahu wa taala and then the IM he says you

[28:36]are the hope of the ones that miss you and anticipate you

[28:41]and yearn a relationship with you I ask you to increase that

[28:51]love in my heart towards you he says oh Allah increase that

[29:02]love that that I should have towards you in my heart ask

[29:05]Allah subh to strengthen our relationship with Allah subhah wa tala because

[29:11]a relationship with Allah it will mean happiness even if you are

[29:20]living in difficult conditions if you have Allah subhah wa ta'ala you

[29:24]will have that happiness in your heart and we see the way

[29:31]that the imams speak to Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in one part

[29:35]IM he says oh Allah I'm hungry but this hunger it cannot

[29:46]be quenched I cannot feed that hunger with food or or water

[29:53]quenching your thirst with water when you want a love with Allah

[29:56]you keep wanting and wanting and he says I anticipate that relationship

[30:18]that bond with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala now we spoke about loving

[30:23]Allah in a material world and using the materialis logic to love

[30:29]Allah subhanahu wa taala however there's a very important point when you

[30:35]love someone when you love someone in your life when you have

[30:40]a friend that you love what do friends do for one another

[30:42]they're there for one another if I have a friend my friend

[30:48]is going to be there for me in the time of need

[30:51]because we we love one another we are friends with one another

[30:53]if you are in love with Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala in a

[30:58]loving relationship relationship who is the more generous one in that relationship

[31:01]who is the one that is more generous in that relationship it

[31:07]is Allah subhah wa ta'ala and the one that is the more

[31:10]generous he is the one that keeps giving and giving so when

[31:14]you love Allah that means Allah will love you many times more

[31:17]many times more than the love that you just have towards Allah

[31:21]subhanahu wa ta'ala it is narrated that Prophet sham Prophet sh was

[31:31]living in Medan during the time of prophet mam M was in

[31:37]Egypt and Prophet sh was in Medan sh he used to cry

[31:44]and cry and cry Allah subhah wa tala tells him why are

[31:49]you crying he says I'm crying because I love Allah subhana tala

[31:54]I love you oh Allah so Allah G she he keeps crying

[32:01]until he loses his eyesight until he becomes blind Allah subhana wa

[32:06]tala gives him his eyesight back he's able to see once again

[32:09]he continues to cry and cry and cry until he loses his

[32:16]eyesight once again Allah subhana ta'ala gives him his eyesight the third

[32:20]time he cries and cries and cries Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala tells

[32:24]him oh sh what is it that you want if you want

[32:30]Paradise then I have made Paradise W upon you it's obligatory upon

[32:34]you to enter paradise and if you have made if you are

[32:39]afraid of the Hellfire then I have made the Hellfire Haram to

[32:42]burn you I have forbidden the Hellfire from burning you what is

[32:48]it that you want he tells him oh oh Allah I'm in

[32:50]love with you so Allah subhah wa ta'ala replies to sh he

[32:57]tells himan because of that relationship that you have my the one

[33:05]who is Allah mus he will become your servant the Kim of

[33:11]Allah who is from the prophets who is from the high prophets

[33:14]high ranking prophets he will come and he will become your servant

[33:18]and this is exactly what happened Musa when he left Egypt when

[33:24]he escaped the first time alone when he left Egypt he went

[33:27]to Medan and he met sh and he served sh for 10

[33:33]years 10 years he was serving sh and then he married one

[33:37]of his daughters and his life moved on but here's the point

[33:44]of this the moral of the story that was so in love

[33:46]with Allah that the Kim of Allah who a a higher prophet

[33:51]he came and he became the servant of Allah the servant of

[33:55]sh mus became the servant of so this means that when you

[34:01]have a loving relationship with Allah Allah is the more generous one

[34:04]in the relationship Allah is the one that will give and continue

[34:08]blessing in the relationship now how do we show love there are

[34:13]two very easy ways the first is that we must have Allah

[34:17]subhanahu wa ta'ala on our minds at all time and second we

[34:24]must show love and obey if you love Allah then follow follow

[34:37]Allah follow the Sunnah of Allah show love towards Allah show love

[34:42]towards the this is the way of showing love to Allah subhah

[34:48]wa tala because when we show love to the we're not just

[34:54]showing love to people we're following the orders of Allah Allah says

[34:57]in the Quran the only thing that I ask is that you

[35:04]show love to the to the family of when you show love

[35:13]to the this is a way of showing love to and when

[35:18]you show love to you are loving Allah and when you love

[35:23]Allah Allah will bless you Allah will bless your life life and

[35:32]today we remember a lady a lady who did not do who

[35:34]was not known for so many things in her life other than

[35:41]one very important thing and that is the love towards the and

[35:49]that is the wife of the mother of ab and the brothers

[35:55]of ab today it is known that if you have anything if

[36:02]you are in need of anything you do ather you do a

[36:07]vow you send Salat you do one 100 Salat for your ha

[36:13]will be delivered why because she has a position in the eyes

[36:17]of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala why because of the sacrifices that she

[36:21]gave for the sake of the because of what she offered for

[36:28]for the sake of loving the household of Allah because she loved

[36:33]the children of fa and she lovedol Allah and fat this honorable

[36:40]lady it is recorded that after the death of probably a few

[36:50]years later he tells his brother he tells oh I want you

[36:58]to find me a lady who was born from strong men powerful

[37:01]a powerful lineage with strength and bravery was he used to know

[37:09]the the family names and the tribes tells what are you looking

[37:14]why are you looking for strength when you want to marry a

[37:17]woman this is not something that usually someone looks for he tells
