[0:14]muhammad our holy book and the previous scriptures divide mankind into two

[1:10]sections and two orbits and two groups one is the group of

[1:19]those who sacrifice those who give those who dedicate their lives to

[1:25]help others to save others to guide others the other group are

[1:34]known as those who remain behind those who are lazy those who

[1:43]are not willing to give those who do not believe in sacrifice

[1:49]in islam there are several standards of differentiations people before the law

[2:04]are equal there should be equality equality of mankind equality of the

[2:09]people should be maintained but in the eyes of god people are

[2:16]not equal the way we must treat people we have to treat

[2:21]them in an equal way we should not discriminate but god the

[2:29]way god says i look at people i look at them differently

[2:33]and i reward people differently therefore there are some groups who are

[2:40]the preferred the favorites of god and he says in his book

[2:47]in the holy quran one of them is those who give they

[2:53]spend their wealth those who gave their wealth their time their energy

[3:14]at the time of need are not equal with those who gave

[3:20]at the time were it was not really urgent islam was stronger

[3:27]at that time they are not equal with the group that gave

[3:30]when islam was alone the prophet was lonely before fat fat here

[3:36]is a reference to the conquest of mecca so those who gave

[3:42]those who donate those who are fighting to support the prophet are

[5:45]their thinking with their ideas with their money with their health they

[5:52]strive god preferred favored favor means favored made them higher ranking in

[6:09]degrees higher in ranking doing nothing they spend their time gossiping in

[6:26]the cafes they spend their youth their most critical years where they

[6:35]should equip themselves with knowledge with production with work they waste their

[6:59]and waste their time god says those definitely are not equal to

[7:42]first moment of resurrection on the day of judgment they're going to

[7:54]them we have given you 70 years eight years 50 years how

[8:03]did you spend them where did you spend them show me your

[8:06]production show me your work show me your achievements we have given

[8:11]you the brain the health the energy other blessings we have provided

[8:24]you with the gps with guidance where did you go where did

[8:29]you spend your time did you learn did you try to educate

[9:50]says about moses he has dignity so this is also jihad jihad

[10:01]is not just to carry the gun or the sword and and

[10:04]and you go to the battlefield sometimes the battle features you is

[10:08]your home is your backyard is a battlefield too is your battlefield

[10:15]we are in the battlefield every day this is why 17 times

[10:18]we have 17 raka in every raqqa musta guide us to the

[10:28]right path we are at war we are literally at war sometimes

[10:31]the enemy is visible can see him sometimes the enemy is invisible

[10:44]a mixture a mixture of good and evil and these elements of

[10:53]goodness and elements of evil they fight every single day every single

[10:59]day inside us a person came to a sage a young man

[11:12]times one of them inviting me to do good the other inviting

[11:17]me to commit sin to do bad who's going to win the

[11:23]sage said to him the one is going to win is that

[11:27]the one you feed which one do you feed do you feed

[11:32]the bad wolf or the good one whoever you feed is going

[11:37]to win in sanam and not fatin neptali this life is balwa

[11:45]test we've been put to test every single day of my life

[11:49]and your life is a test either being grateful he knows why

[12:00]god sent him here he knows his way he knows his way

[12:04]he knows what he's doing or kaffora is lost he's lost so

[12:14]these are the groups then another criteria is faith iman i mentioned

[12:23]probably today in the friday prayers the most honored of you in

[12:36]the eyes of god the most honored at kaku the more you

[12:44]fear god the more elevation you get the closer you get the

[12:49]closer you get the more you revere god you reverence god and

[12:55]you respect god and you put god first before anything else what

[13:01]is taqwa someone came to the imam and he said what is

[13:06]piety imam said to him piety is when you put god before

[13:09]yourself and before others look at yourself let me self examine myself

[13:17]do i have piety do i put god first or middle or

[13:23]last wherever i put him it reflects the degree of my faith

[13:29]if i put him first then i do have taqwa if i

[13:34]put him last then i don't have to so these are knowledge

[13:44]faith jihad striving and working and dedication in fact spending god says

[13:54]those are pioneers and then one last is martyrdom my friends the

[14:03]difference between death and martyrdom what is the difference between them both

[14:07]of them once loses his life but there is a huge difference

[14:14]between them death is mandatory there is no escape there is no

[14:21]everyone dies but not everyone gets martyred because martyrdom is a selection

[14:28]by invitation only only for the vips by invitation god says i

[14:38]choose chapter he is going to select and choose martyrs not you

[14:53]not anyone says i want to be martyred is going to be

[14:58]able to get martyred in the way of god not this is

[15:04]by invitation only by invitation and therefore god says in the book

[15:10]martyrs are not equal with others there is a differentiation they are

[15:16]superior and ranking they are superior this is another distinction another distinction

[15:30]in the community is martyrdom one of the best most beautiful and

[15:39]spiritual prayers i would don't want to die on deathbed i want

[15:55]to die for you on your path while i am defending you

[15:59]while i am defending your religion so these are five points imam

[16:10]al-hussein he possessed all these equalities when it comes to jihad he

[16:22]is when it comes to martyrdom sayyidus the most difficult day for

[16:35]the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam was the day that his uncle hamza

[16:40]ibn abdul muttalib was murdered in the battle of rasulullah was not

[17:01]just a paternal uncle he was a defender of the prophet a

[17:06]defender at the time the prophet was left alone he was defending

[17:10]the prophet so that was a very difficult day and then the

[17:13]way he was murdered was horrific the way he was cut into

[17:21]pieces was horrific by hint the mother of mahaway walam yakun yawmun

[17:31]ashadu allah the second most difficult day for the prophet was the

[17:46]day of the battle of mote mata is a city in jordan

[17:51]a couple of hours drive south of amman the capital mata where

[17:56]the battle of morta took place between the islamic army and the

[18:04]roman empire they met in that point and the three of the

[18:06]great leaders of the muslims were murdered among them the first cousin

[19:30]truth they are seeking nearness to god in murdering the grandson of

[19:35]the prophet of islam and murdering the master of the youth of

[19:39]paradise and they see how the prophet respects him and how the

[19:45]prophet says they see and they read and they hear that the

[19:55]prophet says hussain of me and i am of hussein may god

[20:00]bestow his love may god love those who love hussein despite that

[20:06]they are seeking nearness to god that is the disaster when people

[20:12]are confused when people are lost when people according to the quran

[20:25]to the prophet say to your community o muhammad say to your

[20:31]community the most losers who are the most losers dunya they are

[20:45]misguided misguided they lost their direction in this life they lost their

[20:50]direction and then they assume they are happy that they are doing

[21:00]good but in fact they are not doing good they are losers

[21:02]they are the worst losers those were one example of them at

[21:07]that time and we have example of this in every time in

[21:11]every community in every city in every state and every group in

[21:17]every group didn't you hear a new news what was going to

[21:23]happen to your to the governor of your neighboring state yesterday those

[21:27]people think that they are doing good let's kidnap the governor and

[21:34]make a cudetta in the state so we liberate liberate michigan liberate

[21:40]this is liberation for them and this group has found my friends

[21:45]in every country in every era in every time and every time

[21:55]that is the most difficult day for the prophet sallallahu alaihi and

[22:00]my friends i said in the beginning that dividing mankind into two

[22:15]groups into those who are striving earnestly with dedication and those who

[22:22]are not making any difference they came into this life and they're

[22:26]going to leave without any legacy and you see my friend you

[22:30]see for yourself even during this time we lose one person he

[22:36]becomes the talk of the town people really miss that person because

[22:40]he left behind very good legacy it could be intellectual it could

[22:46]be social it could be any type of legacy and there are

[22:50]others who die and nobody even noticed their death they don't leave

[22:56]any legacy we have to be part of the first group we

[22:59]are here for a number of days believe me number of days

[23:06]imam ali alayhi salaam says you have been composed of a number

[23:13]of days not months not years a number of days every day

[23:24]that passes by today was october 9th 2020 friday this day passed

[23:31]when this day passed it took part of us dismantled part of

[23:41]us took away part of us with it until one day comes

[23:46]nothing of us is left that day we have to go so

[23:55]let's see what legacy we leave behind this is important ask yourself

[23:59]what is my legacy i'm going to leave these buildings stay these

[24:14]streets marketplace everything is going to stay we leave another generation is

[24:20]going to replace us so what is my legacy ask yourself what

[24:25]is your legacy before it is too late if you have a

[24:31]good legacy good for you if not you must act now without

[24:37]any delay leave some legacy our job is to leave something is

[24:40]to do something god's job is to accept or reject i don't

[24:45]know whether he's going to accept or reject this is his responsibility

[25:12]hussain just did that he left a legacy i said today in

[25:29]13th 81 anniversary 1380 years since the martyrdom of imam jose but

[25:37]do you see that this occasion is diminishing it's not diminishing subsiding

[25:44]people are forgetting it despite this year i said i was one

[25:52]of the people who thought that nobody is going to make it

[25:56]for zia because of the pandemic i thought the ziara karbala was

[25:59]going to be deserted during the albin but the figures yesterday were

[26:07]published the official figures 18 million people during a pandemic what do

[26:12]you call this craziness people are crazy people don't have any regards

[26:19]for their lives they don't pay attention of course they do their

[26:24]lives are important but there is something more important than our lives

[26:29]as individuals it's a cause it's a cause it's an important cause

[26:37]and they have to be part of it they have to revive

[26:44]it they have to revive it and i'm going to say in

[26:48]my arabic presentation tonight inshallah why al-bahin is distinguished from other occasions

[26:53]why the focus is on al-bayeen but not others there is a

[26:59]reason and i'm going to mention three reasons so imam hussain gave

[27:07]everything for god in return god gives him everything god is more

[27:12]generous than hussein if your son gives you a hundred dollar bill

[27:19]he takes out his savings and he says baba my father i'm

[27:25]going to give you every penny i saved 100 and you are

[27:32]the most generous person how much you give him a return one

[27:36]day would you give him a hundred dollars a thousand dollars ten

[27:42]thousand one hundred thousand because this is your son and you are

[27:46]supposed to be more generous than him you are supposed to be

[27:52]a source of inspiration for him god is the source of inspiration

[27:57]god is the source of light allah god is the source of

[28:09]inspiration how much god would give to imam hussain god would give

[28:14]him unlimited unlimited and we are not surprised some sunni brothers and

[28:22]sisters ask us every year what is special about hussain the prophet

[28:26]is greater than hussein ali his father is greater than him father

[28:31]his mother is greater than him maybe his brother hasan is greater

[28:34]than him what is special about this man you people organize these

[28:43]sessions for almost two months because hussein is an outstanding figure hussein

[28:49]is not comparable with any prophet with any imam and this is

[28:55]how the prophet dealt with him hussain was exceptional extraordinary because in

[29:03]saving hussein and commemorating hussein you are commemorating islam you are saving

[29:09]your religion you are saving your principles it's not about a person

[29:14]called hussain it's about the cause my friends aliyah aliyah cause this

[29:18]is why the prophet says no mini he never said this sentence

[29:26]about anyone else except hussain hussain un-mini hussein yes he said i

[29:31]love ali i love fatima god is pleased for her pleasure god

[29:41]is angry for her anger he said this about others but this

[29:44]sentence hussein un mini is of me and i am of him

[29:52]i am of him means the continuation sustainability of islam depends on

[29:56]this man so it's not he's not an individual he's a cause

[30:00]this is why it's important for us when we commemorate hussein when

[30:07]we celebrate hussein we are celebrating all the principles hussein is a

[30:09]universal figure universal figure this is why he rings the bell everywhere

[30:21]you go when people who don't have any prejudice or bias or

[30:25]discrimination or bigotry those people when they hear about hussein they respect

[30:35]him because he stood for the entire humanity not just for the

[30:38]shias or the iraqis or the middle eastern for the entire mankind

[30:44]universal figure and this is how we should present him we don't

[30:50]keep him for us alone we present hussain to the whole world

[30:55]we share hussein hussein is a universal values universal principles tomorrow i

[31:01]heard you have a function here in the parking lot you must

[31:07]invite your neighbors this is the least thing you can do for

[31:10]remembrance to invite a friend a neighbor co-worker tell him tell her

[32:17]with others we must universalize imam hussain this is the least we

[32:22]can do is to allow others to know him and we leave

[32:25]the rest with god i always say we are not here in

[32:30]america to convert people into islam this is not my job it's

[32:34]not our job god says to prophet muhammad in allah it's not

[32:46]you who guide and convert it's up to god god is going

[32:50]to guide and convert whoever he likes whoever he finds worthy whoever

[32:57]god finds worthy not you yes your job is to introduce but

[33:05]don't worry about people whether they accept or reject don't worry do

[33:09]your work this is what we must do in this country some

[33:14]of you are born and raised in this country some of you

[33:18]are immigrants and we both have this responsibility of introducing imam hussein

[33:25]azad is excellent lectures are excellent lamentations are good but this is

[33:30]not enough god would ask me he says but you were living

[37:25]tears that we drop has to be constructive not destructive what is

[37:34]the difference between them the difference is when i cry for imam

[37:44]imam hussein and i abuse my family my neighbors my work my

[37:50]health those who live with me i abused the system then these

[37:57]tears were crocodile tears they were destructive tears not genuine they are

[38:04]lost i lost my tears but my tears have to be inspirational

[38:08]even my sorrow my husband my sadness for imam hussain has to

[38:15]be inspirational positive constructive it should motivate me more my tears should

[38:26]motivate me more to defend to defend the truth to stand against

[38:33]oppression to not accept oppression neither for me nor for others sometimes

[38:42]we do not tolerate injustice for our own selves but we may

[38:46]tolerate it for others we don't care about them as long as

[38:50]not my family not my neighborhood not my jamaa not my group

[38:55]i don't care let them do whatever they want but this is

[38:59]not good the entire mankind is my family whether i speak their

[39:09]language or i don't they are my family we come from one

[39:14]source we come from one parent as i said today people have

[39:26]to live and stand for universal justice not regional not just my

[39:33]town not just my people universal ali was ready to dispatch and

[39:40]whole army to defend a lady at the end the last village

[39:47]in his country in his estate the last village on the border

[39:53]with syria he dispatched the whole army and that lady happened to

[39:59]be christian christie she wasn't a muslim imam ali was a muslim

[40:07]caliph and his estate was a truly islamic state not like isis

[40:12]they call themselves islamic and they are anti-islamic it was a genuine

[40:31]is not defending me he sent an army and he didn't ask

[40:38]about her religion and then he realized that this lady was not

[40:40]even a muslim but he defended her and one day when he

[40:45]was walking in kufa he saw a man begging during his reign

[40:50]his leadership a man begging he asked mahada in arabic he did

[41:01]who is this because he doesn't care about nationalities he doesn't even

[41:06]care about whether you are muslim or non-muslim he said what is

[41:10]this this is unacceptable a man begging old man so people came

[41:17]not even a muslim he's a christian is that even worse this

[41:25]man had an energy when he was young you had him working

[41:30]for you serving you now that he's old at the age of

[41:34]retirement you neglected him you abandoned him and you're telling me he's

[41:39]a christian so what he's not a human being this is ali

[41:51]religion we don't ask people about their faith whether they believe in

[41:54]god or not we don't we learn the story of ibrahim ibrahim

[42:13]is the architect the designer the builder him and his son they

[42:17]built the house the best house the oldest house the oldest temple

[43:07]i sent you to save people so don't be proud of building

[43:13]a material building anyone can build this material building but when you

[43:19]save lives this is important so from that day ibrahim allah nafsihi

[43:23]he made an oath that he would never eat food by himself

[43:30]every day he shares the food with others sharing the food one

[43:35]of the beautiful virtues in this life you feel good about it

[43:39]when you share your food with others when you invite them you

[43:43]feel good about it it's a remedy but people do not know

[43:48]about this people think remedy when they go and get from the

[43:53]pharmacy when they get these tablets these medications to take away depression

[43:59]from them these are chemicals my friends chemicals you need spiritual we

[44:05]need a spiritual remedy spiritual er funny rouhani moral maybe the chemicals

[44:17]would help but the ultimate healing and solution is the spiritual one

[44:22]when you help others when you help others you feel good so

[44:26]ibrahim said i'm not going to eat by myself one day nobody

[44:31]showed up so he went to the street the first one who

[44:40]man came to his house once the man sought to eat before

[46:42]of mercy and i'm ready now to accept him if what you

[46:56]me then this means your god is very fair and he believed

[46:59]in ibrahim and he believed in his message my friends we don't

[47:04]ask people we don't we don't discriminate when we can reach once

[47:12]we can reach this point that we serve unconditionally [Music] and yes

[47:26]we want god to help us to reward us but not people

[47:31]this is one of the important lessons of imam hussain and this

[47:36]is why our buying is important and this is why jabber even
