[0:09][Music] [Music] ald [Music] muham [Music] [Music] m [Music] muham this Ayah
[1:52]number three ofah was revealed after the event of the event of
[1:58]when the prophet Sall declared as Theif official of the leader and
[2:12]the master of the Muslims after him and this was on the
[2:15]year on 18th day of the month of in the year 10
[2:23]after hij about 100,000 Muslims approximately were present on that day at
[2:32]the event of few days after the final of and those Muslims
[2:40]were told to come and pledge their allegiance to and the famous
[2:53]tradition of which is narrated by all Muslims sh and whomever I
[3:07]am his master Ali is also his master oh Allah support those
[3:12]who support him go against those who go against him befriend those
[3:17]who befriend him and make those who take him as an enemy
[3:24]as your enemies Ya Allah what's important about the Ayah the AY
[3:34]says today I have completed the religion for you this completion comes
[3:43]with the IM religion of Islam it is not just about Salat
[3:52]and religion of Islam it's a way of life therefore if you
[3:58]look at the books of there are a section called for example
[4:08]how you do how did you do etc etc these are all
[4:23]acts of worship then there is another section called dealing with with
[4:31]people because we live in a society we live not in isolation
[4:34]we live amongst people so how do we deal with people for
[4:39]example part of that section is contracts what is a contract how
[4:46]do you make a contract does it have to be written can
[4:48]it be verbal for example all this his way of dealing with
[4:52]people marriage how do you get married divorce what are the requirements
[5:02]all these are there about interaction the religion of Islam is a
[5:05]comprehensive religion comprehensive it deals with every aspect of life including the
[5:15]political aspect Islam has politics indeed became the head the master of
[5:25]a community of a society of a Nation so how did he
[5:27]deal with this community as a leader a political leader became a
[5:33]political leader so how did he deal with it so there's politics
[5:35]in Islam finances there is a financial system in Islam the entire
[5:44]Financial system because once you become a leader of a of a
[5:47]community of a society how are you going to make your ends
[5:52]meet so there's a whole financial system which is unique about Islam
[5:59]by by the way brothers and sisters you'd rarely find a system
[6:03]a religion that has such a comprehensive system for example even those
[6:08]that claim spirituality like Buddhism you go to Buddhism tell them show
[6:12]me a political system that say this is not of our business
[6:17]it's of our spirituality but when it comes politics that's not what
[6:20]what we what we deal with one of great prophet of Allah
[6:32]subh but he never became a political leader became a political leader
[6:38]became a political leader so therefore there are all these aspects one
[6:43]of those aspects of Islam is the psychology as well psychological aspects
[6:49]Allah subhana wa ta'ala created the human being and he knows that
[6:54]the human being has certain needs emotional needs physical needs and among
[7:00]those needs are psychological needs tonight if Allah gives us very briefly
[7:06]we'll go over some of the psychology that is found in very
[7:12]briefly we'll just take a look at Four Points briefly the idea
[7:18]is to show you brothers and sisters that touched upon every aspect
[7:28]of religion which is every aspect of life so when the Ayah
[7:33]says today I have completed my religion for or the religion for
[7:40]you this completion comes with the IM from all dimensions and facets
[7:44]with the religion of Islam if we need help Financial system Islam
[7:51]gives us that fin but who gives us that Financial system if
[7:57]we leave the it becomes incomplete if you remember yesterday do you
[8:03]remember I said with the imams how many more years do we
[8:08]have in addition to almost yes exactly if you include then yes
[8:15]without 250 years without 250 years of from the IMs that's a
[8:25]lot of wealth of Sunnah Traditions from the IMs if we cut
[8:32]that off what happens we just cut off ourselves from 250 years
[8:38]of traditions and sun from the so this is inshallah what we
[8:44]want to get at let's start with it there are several points
[8:51]where the IM touches upon very important points these points interestingly if
[8:55]you take a look at them they are very contemporary points but
[9:00]the packaging is different today they put different for example a a
[9:04]terminology for it different slogan for it but if you go to
[9:10]the roots the essence IM aliam has spoken about it more than
[9:13]14 about 1400 years ago for example when it comes to the
[9:22]effect of a group on people the IM one day took k
[9:30]zad the one who narrated Dua k for us with him to
[9:36]the cemetery and he started speaking to him he said these hearts
[9:45]are like containers and the best of them is the one that
[9:48]can take the most so then he tells him people he categorizes
[9:58]people into three categories what are these three let's take a look
[10:02]at those three categories a scholar who is on the he knows
[10:11]the path this at the time of the is the himself today
[10:17]it is who follow the path of the those great Scholars okay
[10:24]so that's one so you become you should become a Rani or
[10:29]what's the second category learning someone who's he's not a which is
[10:39]most of us most of us we're not we're not Scholars we
[10:44]learn from the from the why do we learn because we want
[10:47]to save our and our we want to have a successful life
[10:53]in D and in the so we learn the we learn the
[10:58]we learn from these so that we can inshallah benefit and Advance
[11:02]okay that's good so these are the two categories that are important
[11:06]comes the third category people who are idiots this is what the
[11:25]IM uses idiots means they don't have a say of Their Own
[11:31]they follow every Trend whatever fashion comes they go with the flow
[11:36]and they mean they go with every you know wind you know
[11:40]what the currents go this way they go this way the currents
[11:42]go this way they go this way yeah they don't have an
[11:47]opinion of their own in Arabic they call such a person he
[11:52]has no opinion of his own he just goes with the flow
[11:58]and how many people do we see as such how many people
[12:00]we see as such a lot of people surprisingly surprisingly so many
[12:07]people you know I remember when I mentioned this last night when
[12:12]Isis came into Iraq and you know they started attacking and taking
[12:17]over people started screaming where is the where is the let the
[12:24]help us where is the say where are the where are okay
[12:27]so Allah subhana made the then a means to save the country
[12:34]alhamdulillah and defend the land all right few years later they come
[12:40]out on the streets what is this you know they dictate to
[12:42]us whatever we do you know we have to follow them we
[12:46]want to be liberal we want to be liberate just few days
[12:49]ago you guys just went out saying where is the we need
[12:54]their help we need their support and now you see a lot
[12:58]of people surprisingly in society a lot of people like this they
[13:02]go with the flow and if I want to use political examples
[13:05]I can use many political examples contemporary contemporary political examples things you
[13:12]will relate to but you see people mallah someone coming especially in
[13:17]in some mallah some countries in some countries you find someone coming
[13:21]out in a campaign people yes hey we cheer for him and
[13:24]then and then a few years later no they cheer against him
[13:27]they go with someone else you know and they go with that
[13:29]person and so on so forth that's in terms of politics but
[13:36]in terms of religion it's also very serious today brothers and sisters
[13:40]we have people so-called influencers know on Tik talk and on social
[13:48]media influencers you know who I'm talking what I'm talking about yeah
[13:53]influencers you guys are laughing now okay so these influencers literally they
[14:03]have millions of followers millions of followers okay you look into their
[14:09]credentials no credentials okay okay somebody follows a doctor for example a
[14:14]cardiologist you know tells him okay this cardiologist comes and he says
[14:17]I'll give you health tips about how to maintain a healthy heart
[14:19]okay that's good he's an expert in this field and I can
[14:24]follow him and learn from him in this particular field you know
[14:27]good somebody who special izes for example in in child psychology and
[14:32]he's teaching us a m a and specializes in child psychology teaches
[14:38]us about how to upbring our children Etc okay he's an expert
[14:41]in this field I'll listen to him in that field but there
[14:46]comes someone who actually has absolutely no idea about this whole world
[14:51]but knows how to talk they're good talkers good talkers and good
[14:56]actors these days acting is not you have to go to to
[15:00]Hollywood mallah It's All Over YouTube anybody can become an actor these
[15:03]days and they may even have more followers than the actual actors
[15:09]you know and the actresses these guys and they come up with
[15:13]strange Trends you remember the ice ice cube Trend you know that
[15:16]ice whatever ice water ice water bucket Trend and how many people
[15:20]used to fall into that and got killed because of that and
[15:23]then people follow just follow blindly follow I had the other you
[15:29]know one day I had a few M come to me and
[15:30]they say sheh I was in a particular area in a particular
[15:34]country they said there is a trend now among ladies among young
[15:36]ladies unfortunately taking off the hijab why because some influencer on social
[15:42]media took off the hijab they went with the flow okay where
[15:46]is your where is your brain okay she took off the hijab
[15:51]does that mean you go with the flow okay ask yourself okay
[15:58]she's wrong what she's doing is not right who should I please
[16:03]Allah subhana wa ta'ala or follow this influencer who doesn't even know
[16:06]what's right and what's wrong and what's H and what's B but
[16:10]unfortunately this is the sad reality today we have so many people
[16:14]watching these videos and mimicking them imitating them the way they dress
[16:24]their hair their Styles their makeup their whatever they go with the
[16:29]flow just go with the flow this is what the IM is
[16:33]referring to this is the effect of a group group effect interestingly
[16:37]the Quran refers to this Allah subhana in says on the day
[16:53]of judgment the people who go to Jenna they are surprised they
[17:00]surpris at the people who ended up in J because they say
[17:04]with all Allah's with all Allah's forgiveness with all Allah's Mercy how
[17:09]did you guys end up in jna because now they're in Jenna
[17:15]they've seen Allah's Mercy Allah's forgiveness Allah's subhana that's why interestingly was
[17:27]told says this was not a follower of he was but not
[17:35]from the school of says I'm not surprised at the one who
[17:45]end up in Janam how he ended up in Janam with all
[17:48]the desires and The Temptations and all that I'm not surprised I'm
[17:51]surprised at the ones who end up in Jah how they made
[17:55]it up into Jen someone came and told the IM IM he
[17:59]says this is what says IM told him this is what he
[18:09]says what I say this is what he says I'm not surprised
[18:22]at the one who ends up in Jenna how he ends up
[18:26]in Jenna because Allah is so forgiving Allah is so merciful Allah
[18:31]is so compassionate Allah wants any excuse to take you to Jen
[18:36]that's really the essence of it Allah does not want he did
[18:37]not create us to end us to put us in the Hellfire
[18:40]we choose to go to the Hellfire that's why he gave us
[18:45]so many incentives you do one good deed I'll multiply it for
[18:47]10 by 10 for you you do one I'll multiply it by
[18:51]80 years for you more than 80 years you do this good
[18:55]deed I'll forgive you you do that good deed I will delete
[18:57]your sins and someone good deeds will delete Allah really is pushing
[19:03]us go to J just do some good deeds and do the
[19:09]basics and that's it but we choose to go to Janam so
[19:13]the IM is saying with all Allah's how do people end up
[19:17]in Janam really surprising how really people put in effort to go
[19:20]to Janam put in a lot of effort to go to J
[19:25]otherwise Jenna is very easy to attain just do the basics theat
[19:29]and stay away from the anyways so those on the day of
[19:33]judgment who end up in Jan are asking the people of Janam
[19:41]how did you end up in Janam look look at what they
[19:43]say listen to what they say we did not pray that's one
[19:51]so that's one thing that's why Salat is so important two we
[19:55]did not care about people and feeding the hungry and all that
[20:00]who cares as long as we are fed and we're looked after
[20:02]we don't care about everyone else anyone else three this is the
[20:08]important we used to go with every flow you know we used
[20:15]to sit down whatever people talk we go with the fashion we
[20:19]go with the trends for and we started we we used to
[20:27]bely the day of Judgment Day of judgment nonsense just this and
[20:32]that's it until what until death Came Upon Us until death beell
[20:40]upon us such people such people Allah says those people will not
[20:51]help them there's no for such people but ayat in the Quran
[20:57]you can see Allah says in another Allah subhana wa tala mentions
[21:02]about certain [Music] people7 when you tell them believe in Allah they
[21:17]will say no no we'll just follow whatever our parents used to
[21:20]follow whatever our forefathers Allah says what if the forefathers did not
[21:23]really understand the truth you blindly just follow follow the h follow
[21:32]the that's why on the day of the battle of sorry Al
[21:35]Al on the Battle of Al a man came he looks this
[21:40]side he sees the wife of the prophet sahabah of the prophet
[21:45]he looks on this side says and theah of the Prophet here
[21:52]sah there he became confused noticed noticed he says listen you're getting
[22:11]confused you don't judge Justice and the truth against people you judge
[22:15]people against the truth people can change yes the use Zu was
[22:25]with the prophet in all the battles or many of the battles
[22:30]was a brave man says Zu was of us he was the
[22:47]cousin of IM Ali from his aunt safia his aunt safia the
[22:50]mother of Zu is the aunt of imami and the prophet cousin
[22:58]he's hashimi from his mother's side Zu Brave good man IM Ali
[23:03]says he was of us until his Wicked son says grew up
[23:11]the son deviated the father it's good to love your children but
[23:15]not to the point where they take you off the there has
[23:19]to be limits when he became a deviant he's no longer your
[23:27]son Allah tells no so here IM is saying don't go with
[23:40]the group just for the sake of the group interestingly today well
[23:44]not today recently in the 1930s we're talking about almost 100 years
[23:49]ago there was an German American psychologist very famous his name is
[23:57]Kurt Leen Kurt Luen came up with a theory called the group
[24:01]dynamics Theory what is group dynamic theory he says the action of
[24:05]an individual is different when he's put as a part of the
[24:10]group when you're part of a group you start behaving differently from
[24:15]being an individual for example I'll give you an example that we
[24:20]relate to but then I'll use some of his examples as well
[24:24]on just few nights ago those of you who stayed with us
[24:27]those of you may Allah give you the and may Allah accept
[24:32]from us inshallah we stayed we started reading the duas the some
[24:37]of you stay until Dua abali if you were by yourself at
[24:46]home doing the you would probably say I would probably not have
[24:49]done many of this maybe I would have done you know putting
[24:52]the Quran on my head pray and that's it but to sit
[24:59]down reading Dua Dua du Dua where did you get that energy
[25:03]from the group the group is doing it so as a group
[25:07]you go with the group and it gives that momentum it gives
[25:11]that energy to do things in a group okay that's something you
[25:13]can relate to an individual versus a group Kurt Leen for example
[25:20]that's why it's good to come and do the as a group
[25:22]in the husse for example last night we read Dua Dua in
[25:27]the we were here we read Dua whereas those people who may
[25:32]have been at home you may not have read Dua for example
[25:35]so Kurt Luen what he did he did a couple of experiments
[25:41]one experiment what he did he contacted some big corporations in his
[25:46]time and he said to some corporations he said I want you
[25:52]to send me two of your managers big leaders like CEO something
[25:55]but two other corporations he said I want you to send only
[25:59]one so they sent he said we're going to do training for
[26:03]them training know some kind of Consulting free about leadership training how
[26:08]to enhance your production and maximize your profits said okay great this
[26:13]is sounds good and he's a professor at the University he's a
[26:16]psychologist so people started sending companies started sending some had two some
[26:23]had one he gave the seminar then he went back they went
[26:28]back he started observing without telling the companies which companies showed more
[26:34]profits which companies implemented the strategies to increase their profits he noticed
[26:40]that the companies that sent two had more profit than the companies
[26:45]that send one and he said he says it's because there is
[26:50]two of them there was a group a group in this time
[26:54]of two people when you have a group then it has a
[26:59]bigger effect the people the one by himself did not have as
[27:01]much of an effect he then went to some schools he went
[27:06]to some classrooms and he went to some children that were some
[27:10]troublemakers he took them out from the school he put them in
[27:15]a different school that did not have many troublemakers he found that
[27:20]after some time this child who was a troublemaker slowly he started
[27:24]to change with the group the group dynamics Theory so he developed
[27:28]this Theory that the group impacts the [Music] individual mentioned this but
[27:38]not in these fancy terms group dynamics Theory all that he said
[27:42]you should either become aim or you should hang out with the
[27:47]and learn from them so that you can inshallah have a success
[27:51]in D and in the or do not be among those this
[27:56]is the third group of people they go with every flow whatever
[28:01]place you put them they go with that place they go with
[28:08]that fashion I see sometimes some people coming from Muslim countries as
[28:14]students when they first arrive here the hijab is good everything is
[28:17]good slowly slowly M the hijab is taken off you know and
[28:23]then the boy comes at the beginning slowly he goes nothing no
[28:31]just went with the flow this shows this individual did not have
[28:35]a very strong foundation and base that's why it's important for us
[28:41]to build the base and the foundation strong base strong Foundation once
[28:44]you have a strong base strong F no matter what happens nothing
[28:47]will move you brought one day he told his uh followers he
[28:56]was sitting down he says find me a sh so I can
[29:02]Slaughter him a sh to slaughter him this what he wants to
[29:05]slaughter a sh they told him today we don't see any more
[29:10]than the servant of IMI you want top not sh this is
[29:16]he says then bring mear so they brought Kar he tells him
[29:21]you arear he says yes I am he says disassociate yourself from
[29:30]ALB so I'll spare your life looks at him says okay with
[29:39]one condition he says what he says find me someone more God
[29:44]conscious more God-fearing better than alali and I will leave Al Talib
[29:49]and follow them nowar presented a logical argument see what he said
[29:59]he said bring me someone better than Ali I will follow him
[30:05]he didn't say I'm not going no I will stick to he
[30:08]presented so what should have been the response the response in a
[30:15]logical way like yes there is someone so and so you follow
[30:17]this person or no there isn't then you can follow but what
[30:23]did Ha say there is no answer so he says kill him
[30:29]there's no answer so just kill him so they killed him you
[30:35]know that's when the is strong you know even if you see
[30:40]the sword and you see ha you still are strong this is
[30:44]the strong base how do we build a strong base brothers and
[30:50]sisters as I told you a few nights ago those 10 things
[30:51]do you remember them what did I say those 10 things on
[30:56]you probably forgot some of them you know and these things increase
[31:11]our faith in Allah whether we like it or we don't because
[31:14]we're creating an environment of submission to Allah and so on so
[31:24]forth attending malalis listening to lectures from reputable speakers this increase our
[31:29]strengthens us so then when the tide comes we're very strong that's
[31:36]one second inshallah let's take the a look at what the IM
[31:42]also says he says when it comes to speaking every human being
[31:55]is hiding under his tongue what does mean he's going to slip
[31:59]he's going to have some slips and that will tell you really
[32:04]who he is in front of people he might come out as
[32:07]M God-fearing he is good person one day some situation might happen
[32:13]something might happen he'll say a word he'll make a statement from
[32:19]that statement you'll know what kind of a person he is I
[32:22]was once at a place I won't mention where in that place
[32:33]there was a center people followers of used to come to that
[32:38]Center in that place they used to have every night in the
[32:46]month of Ramadan so people would come one day after thear and
[32:53]the evening at night we were at somebody's house one person said
[32:56]you know we should stop having having AAR every night why not
[33:00]why this is a good thing it's good to have AAR every
[33:05]night because these poor people come and attend with us to eat
[33:10]I told him okay what's wrong with that used to feed everyone
[33:18]the rich and the poor it's bar the MJ of IM Hussein
[33:21]first of all it is husse this is not your house in
[33:25]your house you can invite whomever you want but when it's a
[33:28]everyone comes to the husse he says no we should build a
[33:32]separate husia for these guys can you imagine can you imagine Subhan
[33:38]Allah I was shocked this is like a this is he goes
[33:50]to regularly I was shocked people have this kind of a mentality
[33:55]and don't be surprised there are people who have that kind of
[33:59]mentality people have kind there are people and some husse they have
[34:05]a spot for example he sits here if someone comes and sits
[34:08]in his spot he gets very angry he goes and complains to
[34:13]the administration that somebody today sat in my spot put a parking
[34:18]label you know reserved there is that arrogance it's hidden it's hidden
[34:28]when he says something you'll catch it then you'll catch it eventually
[34:34]you'll catch it IMI what a beautiful statement interestingly there is a
[34:43]um a journal called Psychology today in that journal look at this
[34:51]heading of this uh publication this publication was published on November 1st
[34:56]2022 just about couple years ago look at the heading did I
[35:03]really just say that our conversations are sprinkled with slips pauses lies
[35:12]and clues to our inner World here is what we reveal when
[35:24]we speak whether we mean to or not this is in 2022
[35:28]did you hear the title what did Imam say 1400 years ago
[35:34]exactly the same thing but this is packaged in a nice way
[35:39]you know did I really just say that the packaging is different
[35:42]the essence is the same our conversations I'll repeat you are sprinkled
[35:50]with slips pauses lies and clues to our inner world inside here
[35:59]is what we reveal when we speak whether we mean to or
[36:03]not this is the title and then the actual article starts discussing
[36:07]the details that's what the IM said 1400 years ago you see
[36:11]psychology is there in the words of what does this mean he
[36:19]tells us a treatment all fix what's between you and Allah then
[36:29]Allah will fix what's between you and the people what does that
[36:35]mean it means train yourself to always be good to be kind
[36:39]not to have a double face because one day you'll be caught
[36:48]if you fix your inside your inner world then your outer world
[36:53]would also be good the same image not different they say one
[37:00]of the to men you like this one one of the had
[37:08]four wives one of the had four wives it is said that
[37:10]all four of his wives used to pray J behind him all
[37:15]four of them believe in his all four of them believe in
[37:21]his this is how difficult it is they all see him you
[37:27]know sometimes there is a man who might have one wife and
[37:29]when it comes to she says I will not pray behind you
[37:35]you know people yeah they don't know your ins and outs I'm
[37:37]your wife I know exactly all your ins and outs I know
[37:42]who you are I'm not going to pray behind you he had
[37:47]four but this demonstrates he was although he had four wise how
[37:50]difficult it is but he managed to treat each one of them
[37:54]with God Consciousness not easy but when you do it in the
[38:02]house it's reflected outside imagine what he's like outside what he's like
[38:07]outside one of the visited another they visited another Al and they
[38:16]had a discussion a heated discussion so the who was visiting the
[38:19]other one insulted him and the who was insulted was very socially
[38:26]popular was socially popular popular his people were sitting down his followers
[38:31]were sitting down he's just been insulted by this who is not
[38:36]as popular socially this Al who's popular who's good comes and kisses
[38:42]down the hands of the other Al and apologizes to him the
[38:45]one who was insulted the one who was insulted bends down kisses
[38:50]the hand of the other one who insulted him and apologized and
[38:54]said I am sorry they hugged each other out and said no
[38:56]problem no it's okay okay and he went and left then this
[39:02]turned to his people he said you're probably surprised why did I
[39:06]do what I did they said yes you should have insulted him
[39:12]back he attacked you he disrespected you and he's visiting you and
[39:17]he's your guest you're the host and he's disrespecting you he told
[39:22]them you know what happened he said what he said the minute
[39:27]he said that word of insult I became angry you know my
[39:31]immediately got angry and told me to reply back say the same
[39:38]thing to him but then I paused for a second I told
[39:42]my nefs I'm not going to listen to you I will do
[39:46]what's right I will not you're not the boss I am the
[39:49]boss this evil commanding self you don't dictate to me what to
[39:56]do my dictates to me what to do so I am going
[40:00]to kiss his hand this is now all within a matter of
[40:02]seconds you know all this is happening within milliseconds but this is
[40:09]how he stained himself to restrain himself so then when my my
[40:17]evil commanding self when I when when I told it that I'm
[40:19]going to kiss his hand it said no no no no don't
[40:22]kiss the hand okay don't apologize don't apologize don't attack back but
[40:26]don't kiss he said I'm going to kiss his hand to teach
[40:30]you a lesson next time stay out of my business so I
[40:32]bent down I kissed his hand I apologized so this way I
[40:40]am in charge this is the third point that IM mentions Imam
[40:43]says listen to this one if you cannot manage your anger then
[40:59]behave act as if you can manage your anger act it out
[41:05]because it is rare for a person it is rare who tries
[41:11]to imitate another group of people but he becomes like them again
[41:14]this also relates back to the group dynamics Theory when you start
[41:17]imitating a group of people then eventually you'll be one of them
[41:22]that's why it's important to have good friends brothers and sisters make
[41:25]sure you're with a good group of friends otherwise they will start
[41:28]influencing you and you'll start Chang without realizing IMI says so if
[41:36]you have anger management problems start counting in the day how many
[41:40]times do I get angry 10 times for example say okay 10
[41:45]times I get angry every day for little things okay tomorrow I
[41:49]need to watch myself not 10 times I have to reduce it
[41:54]to eight times so the minute you hit eight you say ahas
[41:56]now I now now I have to really watch myself once you
[42:01]make it once you go through that 24 hours and only eight
[42:05]times you're going to feel so proud of yourself you'll feel that
[42:11]I accomplished it I did it I managed to beat my record
[42:13]10 times eight times that's 20% Improvement great that feeling of gratification
[42:19]and happiness that Joy keep it in mind psychologist say that feeling
[42:24]should be your driving force so that tomorrow you should also not
[42:30]get angry try to go for seven then try to go for
[42:33]six that feeling should be your driving that reward the reward that
[42:39]I did it I managed to do it then you'll succeed there
[42:42]is a book called The Power of Habit Charles doig he says
[42:47]this is how you can change your habit it's a bestseller book
[42:50]IM Ali is saying it but in a different language again simple
[42:55]language not the Power of Habit and all that stuff when you
[43:01]imitate a group of people it will become a habit you'll become
[43:04]like them you have an anger management problem slowly the other day
[43:08]when I said to some I said whenever you get angry punish
[43:14]yourself penalize give $10 one man came to me the next day
[43:16]he said I started doing this I told him masallah ya prepare
[43:21]your jar good donation to The husse afterwards you know okay so
[43:25]he says no it's a good technique then I started being a
[43:29]bit more mindful you know again these are all strategies see which
[43:34]strategy works for you if you become angry say to yourself I'm
[43:36]going to punish myself what's the punishment I'm going to pay $10
[43:39]or $20 you put it in a jar that's not my money
[43:43]anymore give it give it charity give it to the after five
[43:48]six times that's like $120 you know now in the jar so
[43:52]if I go like this I'm going to become broke so I
[43:54]better watch myself so then you start watching yourself and slowly slowly
[43:58]you'll cut down your habit so these are strategies thinking of the
[44:04]reward how successful how happy you are the gratification of managing to
[44:09]reduce your anger to eight times instead of 10 times for example
[44:13]that gratification will start to motivate you encourage you if I did
[44:16]it then I can succeed and there is a every time whatever
[44:25]determination you make your body can go through it in other words
[44:28]if there is a will there is a way there is a
[44:33]way so the IM is mentioning all this last one brothers and
[44:37]sisters and this one is a big one mental health problems how
[44:42]many of us have mental health you know let me read you
[44:46]this Statistics this was published Again by Psychology today by a senior
[44:52]lecturer at Swansea University his name is Darren Edwards this was published
[44:58]in August 9th 2022 listen to what he says pay attention there
[45:03]is a silent worldwide mental health epidemic but few people talk about
[45:10]it due to stigma as a result and little effort to tackle
[45:15]the problem at a societal level mental health is not just avoided
[45:22]in conversation but it is also normalized in society this is in
[45:25]2022 this is postco the prevalence now listen to the statistics the
[45:33]prevalence of mental health problems is shocking with approximately 251 to 310
[45:42]million people suffering from depression 300 million people that's like the population
[45:49]of the United States of America and 275 million from anxiety disorder
[45:56]globally the cost of mental health problems to the global economy by
[46:02]2030 is predicted to amount to 16 trillion trillion dollars depression is
[46:14]estimated to outpace es schic heart disease did you hear that doctor
[46:20]there is competition now depression is estimated to outpace es schic heart
[46:28]disease as the number one cause of disease burden globally by 2030
[46:34]in another Statistics by World Health Organization they say 800,000 people commit
[46:45]suicide every year 800 when I did the math I divided it
[46:49]800,000 people divided by the number of minutes in the Year it
[46:56]turns out every 40 seconds not even in a minute every 40
[46:59]seconds a person commits suicide can you imagine in this lecture of
[47:05]ours this one hour how many people would have committed suicide see
[47:10]how serious it is why of course sometimes it requires mental intervention
[47:18]sometimes requires because there's a difference between feeling depressed and depression depression
[47:23]is a disorder which may require mental intervention feeling depressed we all
[47:28]experience it you know you have a bad day you feel you
[47:32]know feeling the blues feeling down the problem is if it starts
[47:36]persisting persisting persisting persisting until now it starts interfering with your daily
[47:39]tasks you don't sleep well you don't eat well you don't go
[47:45]to work you lose appetite insomnia now it's depression it sometimes requires
[47:51]medical intervention you have to go see some therapist when it's in
[47:55]its early stages when it's in the early stages turn to the
[47:59]of Allah we have when you have a lot of problems do
[48:08]a lot ofah that will remove them away from you what does
[48:13]IMI say in his letter to his son imass he says I
[48:22]advise you of Allah be God conscious following his commands follow the
[48:35]and fill your heart with his remembrance what does Allah say about
[48:47]with the remembrance of Allah Hearts find peace and Tranquility on the
[48:51]contrary inah whomever does not follow my my my rules the will
[49:05]have a suffocating life there is a direct this is Quran Quran
[49:10]the more you hold on to your strong faith you hold on
[49:16]to you hold on to your the more you hold on to
[49:26]this then inshallah the more the easier it will be for you
[49:29]to face the difficulties and the challenges it does not mean they
[49:33]will go away but you know that Allah is there for you
[49:36]Allah listens Allah will answer you and hence this will make us
[49:42]feel really well I'll finish with this brothers and sisters there was
[49:46]a big his name is who wrote ofran what's the story behind
[50:01]that one day got a heart attack he fell they came they
[50:09]checked his pulse there's no pulse they thought he's dead so they
[50:13]did his they did his cfan and they put a nice Caan
[50:19]he's a big and they buried him they buried him at night
[50:25]he woke up it was a heart attack he was not dead
[50:29]but at the time they did not have these machines to measure
[50:33]the pulse and all that sensitive stuff they came they checked no
[50:36]pulse I spoke to some specialist there are cases when your heart
[50:41]rate can go very low very low heart rate such that you
[50:47]don't feel you think someone is dead unless you have the machines
[50:51]to test so they buried him now imagine this is you you
[50:54]wake up or us we wake up were in theab wrapped in
[51:00]the cff and dark everywhere he started you know shouting but again
[51:15]he was tired he had a heart attack so he did not
[51:18]have a lot of strength whatever strength he had you know anybody
[51:22]anybody no one middle of the night you who's going to come
[51:27]for him so then all the doors now are closed but there
[51:33]is one door that's open which door is this Allah this is
[51:40]Dua at that point he turned to Allah he said I make
[51:51]if you save me from this I will write a t of
[51:55]the Quran he was aim he was a long and behold he
[52:04]hears a shuffle someone is digging back in those days there were
[52:09]people who used to steal ke they used to steal ke they
[52:14]wait for someone to be buried they come at night they take
[52:16]the caffin and they go they sell it and this is a
[52:22]good C because this is this is like a big so the
[52:25]C is got some good value probably so this thief is digging
[52:31]little does he know that this so called May is alive he's
[52:40]not May good lesson for him sometimes Allah teaches people so he
[52:45]heard so when he heard this he kept quiet he said if
[52:50]I make noise right now this guy will get scared and run
[52:51]away so he kept quiet until he finished he finished he came
[52:57]to open the caffin he held his hand they exchange places catches
[53:12]his hand he tells him don't worry I am not dead I
[53:18]am not dead I am I am so and so I was
[53:22]buried thinking that I was dead but I'm not dead take me
[53:26]to my family and I will give you some reward I'll give
[53:29]you some money so he carried him so this thief carried you
[53:33]know again he had a heart attack he was weak there's not
[53:38]much oxygen there you know he was slowly suffocating so he carried
[53:42]him how to the house he gave him some money and recovered
[53:46]and wrote so Dua help when you have this kind of Hope
[53:53]in Allah will you get depressed if you did not have Allah
[53:58]if he did not have Allah what would have happened Kal he
[54:00]would have just been depressed the whole time until he would have
[54:04]died suffocating that's why we always call upon Allah this is the
[54:24]Dua of read it when you're feeling depressed a little bit subh
[54:31]we ask Allah subhana waala to increase our knowledge about the words
[54:36]of IM Ali increases our inshallah increases our IM inshallah make us
[54:45]among those whom he is very pleased with in D and in
[54:47]the and grant us his forgiveness inshallah raise your hands quickly it
[54:52]is now almost in about a minute or two the time ofan
[55:25]Allah [Applause] Allah sh for muham muham
