[0:09]we get together can we start with the salawat please I will

[0:43]answer the queries that you've written down for me or sent to

[0:48]me by text later on but to start off with I'll just

[0:50]go over a preview of what we did last week just very

[0:54]very quickly so in front of you you have a map it's

[0:59]a Quran city map you should have it with you and the

[1:01]idea of the map as I mentioned last time was to be

[1:05]able to look at an overview of the Quran we found most

[1:08]people when they looked at the Quran either knew the four calls

[1:13]or maybe if they were really really good the last Jews they

[1:18]may know if you were coming for Eid Salah you would know

[1:22]Shams and Allah maybe Rahman if somebody got married in the family

[1:25]but that was about it so the overview just helped it a

[1:30]little bit and that's why we created Quran City it all started

[1:32]with a Lego um or Lego model of the city you can

[1:39]see some of the teachers and students building it there this is

[1:42]what you have with you which is the final version of Quran

[1:44]City Quran city is 114 buildings it will never become bigger it

[1:50]will never become smaller we use the morphology of Medina to build

[1:54]Quran City and Grand City when I said 114 buildings it's got

[2:01]86 Marquis and 28 madani Maki you know because the yellow modern

[2:04]you know they're green I'll go very quickly over the last times

[2:08]um Talk The Mucky ones tell you the why of religion the

[2:12]mother nature the how of religion now we wanted to then put

[2:17]them into a city so we created a city center which revolved

[2:20]around the Quran and there's 19 suburbs that go around it we've

[2:25]given you a blank a blank one at the back so hopefully

[2:29]you will learn where they each go these are the difference between

[2:33]the Maki and madani and I went over that last time there

[2:36]is a chronological order the order we have in the Quran is

[2:41]not chronological it is the order that the prophet placed the Quran

[2:45]in and each of the surahs dovetails onto each other but this

[2:48]is chronology so you see the mother knee ones first and then

[2:53]the makki so the first Surah to be revealed was you can

[2:55]see Surah Number 96 which is now what we did with the

[3:03]children was we gave each Surah a postcode so for example we

[3:06]told them today we're doing suratul furqan now if you can find

[3:09]suratul forkan somewhere here you know it's have a look at your

[3:16]sures and you can see it's yellow so it's Marquis so if

[3:18]you can find so the postcode would be 362535 can you see

[3:26]that so the Surah revealed before fur Khan was 36 and the

[3:30]revealed after was thirty five so if we asked a child what

[3:36]is the postcode for Khan they would tell us three six two

[3:38]five three five which means you immediately know Yasin was revealed before

[3:42]for Khan and then Surah number 35 which hopefully you know what

[3:47]it is father was revealed after it so that's how we work

[3:50]out with the children and that's how they know the chronological order

[3:53]again before you enter the Quran City or rather before you start

[4:02]recital better to be able to recite in Arabic which many people

[4:08]avoid and the prophets Dua which was basically that means I want

[4:14]to fall in love with the book the network we've called M14

[4:18]basically the masumin 14 you cannot understand any of these these surahs

[4:25]or we call them buildings as far we're concerned without being able

[4:29]to refer to the Hadith of the masumin I explained all this

[4:32]last week and last time so I'm not going to go over

[4:35]it because you can watch the video but we're going to go

[4:37]today is a look at how we now look at each Surah

[4:42]and work through it so we're gonna look at I'm just going

[4:48]to go ahead I want to look at so if you look

[4:51]at your Maps this is the city center city center all the

[4:54]surahs that directly relate to the Quran so you have 25 96

[5:00]97 and 98 and you should know them like that 25 is

[5:03]what we're doing today and you'll see how we work through it

[5:11]it's sort of tells you who you become if you follow the

[5:13]Quran and who you become if you don't follow the Quran it's

[5:18]very simple so with every single Surah and if you look at

[5:20]your books that you have in front of you you will turn

[5:24]to Surah Al Quran which is Surah number 25.

[5:25]like that and you know the first thing you will notice is

[5:31]that 77 ayat it's a marquisura I also suggest that you bring

[5:34]your qurans next time if there is a next time and you're

[5:37]able to put the building in there you can download it from

[5:43]the website and then you actually annotate you Journal your Quran and

[5:47]that's how it works okay so we're looking at City Center who

[5:53]you become which is 96 how the Quran was revealed and you

[5:57]know how it was revealed the prophet sitting and meditating in the

[6:00]cave and in Japanese recite first word that changed Humanity 97 tells

[6:08]you when the Quran was revealed and 98 tells you what the

[6:15]Quran is so I'll start again 25 who 96 how 97 when

[6:18]and 98 how okay today we're only going to look at for

[6:23]clan I don't want to push you last week we looked at

[6:26]last time we looked at bakra very very briefly now the first

[6:29]thing to look at any Surah is to know what is the

[6:34]focus of that Surah first of all maybe the meaning the Quran

[6:36]is known as literally means to separate to tell the difference you

[6:46]know even in Gujarati we say you say that don't you separation

[6:50]right so it actually separates good from bad so here fur Khan

[6:55]will separate what your thoughts and beliefs are if you do not

[7:02]follow Divine guidance and then it gives you a tick list are

[7:04]you these things if you follow Divine guidance this is what you

[7:08]should become we're not going to go into everything a liar but

[7:10]we will look at them so that's the first thing you're going

[7:13]to look at so again I repeat in a nutshell if you're

[7:17]thinking what is forecast talking about you know it's talking about separation

[7:20]of who you become if you follow the Quran and who you

[7:25]become if you don't five sections okay very simple when you look

[7:29]at this when you look at the Surah you will see five

[7:34]sections okay you can see the focus talks about the inability of

[7:38]the markets to accept the prophet because of his Being Human and

[7:41]you'll see why and characteristics of those who are believers in other

[7:46]words good and bad for Khan distinguishes right from wrong oh there's

[7:50]some nice benefits you know very often people worry about their possessions

[7:55]and their homes and you find people when have you seen people

[7:59]when they have their suitcases they write kids meal have you seen

[8:04]that that's the name of the dog it's okay you looked after

[8:05]them and you can write that too but if you print it

[8:08]through for Khan and put it in your suitcases you won't Escape

[8:10]Customs huh you have to pay your duties but you will make

[8:15]sure that your possessions are kept safely so you keep it at

[8:18]home it's a good idea to do it okay I'm not going

[8:21]to go into the narrative so section one I said those five

[8:24]sections it tells you about those who don't follow Divine guidance and

[8:29]we'll see the objections when we look at each of the eye

[8:32]section two talks about the day of judgment and I'll just pick

[8:34]one eye out of it the complaint of the prophet third gives

[8:38]you an example of those who didn't follow because it always gives

[8:42]you historical examples then it says you know what you need to

[8:44]reflect on nature and see who really is is Allah and finally

[8:49]what we're going to look at more in detail is section five

[8:51]which is articulous do I follow all these things are you good

[8:57]with that okay section one so I'm not gonna go into the

[9:02]first Ayah neither am I going to go into the second Ayah

[9:03]because you can go into it but I'm going to go into

[9:08]the fourth Ayah so let's look at what he says and those

[9:16]who cover up the truth they say inada this is indeed if

[9:24]conif is a lie so now they're talking literally about what the

[9:32]prophet is talking about because he's changing a whole Community their whole

[9:37]focus in life is different they had a class system in their

[9:41]systems if you did not fit in you were thrown out in

[9:45]their system if you were not good enough to be a makkan

[9:49]sorry you couldn't leave and live in Makkah you had to be

[9:51]thrown out you had to be perfect to be able to live

[9:54]there okay I'm not going to go into what we do but

[9:57]I'm just going to go here so they say if this is

[10:00]a lie because the prophet said as the Quran says we have

[10:05]created you from one man and one woman the only reason you

[10:12]are of different colors and different races is that you are able

[10:16]to appreciate some sort of differences but that's all it is the

[10:21]most honored will Allah is the one who is God conscious and

[10:26]they couldn't quite handle that so they said it's a lie then

[10:29]they said he has copy pasted it so it's a lie which

[10:38]is found somewhere makes sense so he's copy pasted it and he

[10:43]can't have done this alone he's not a lone wolf there is

[10:49]a terrorist cell somewhere that he's with and they're all getting together

[10:53]to change the way we live you heard that before they're changing

[10:59]things I know you know you say yes asking for help in

[11:10]something you're already doing so that's using the same word they're using

[11:14]it a different way they said he's being helped and Allah is

[11:20]saying that they are doing Injustice now wazura comes from the Arabic

[11:25]word ziara ziara actually means turning away when you say I'm going

[11:32]for ziara it means I'm turning away from everybody except the one

[11:36]whom I'm visiting so Allah using the negative connotation he's saying they're

[11:42]turning away from the truth making all these excuses so first excuse

[11:45]they said he's a liar secondly they said he's copy pasted third

[11:49]is not a lone wolf he has actually is part of a

[11:55]terrorist cell okay now the other the other example they give or

[11:58]the other thing they say they say these are ancient stories all

[12:05]differences they make if somebody died 1400 years ago what are you

[12:10]doing about it they said offense what relevance do they have today

[12:13]so they're saying about the Quran he is writing them there's been

[12:22]dictated to him morning and evening now although they were dissing him

[12:31]they were actually telling the truth because it's been dictated by jibril

[12:36]and he is writing it down and they said he was or

[12:40]me that means he couldn't read or he couldn't write or didn't

[12:44]know anything so how did he do that they were contradicting what

[12:48]they were saying okay just just so you know how the Quran

[12:51]works it's beautiful what has been sent down to him is by

[13:03]the one who knows the secrets of the heavens of the Earth

[13:06]even then Allah doesn't say I'm gonna get so mad at you

[13:13]he says I'm rafurer let's see their other objection how can he

[13:19]be a representative of God he eats food he sits down and

[13:27]eats with us work he goes shopping if he was a Divine

[13:33]messenger in their heads he would not eat he would not go

[13:36]shopping and there is no bodyguard with him no angel following him

[13:43]how can he tell us about something when he is just an

[13:49]ordinary human being there's no difference and there's no Treasures if you

[13:58]came from God you'd have lots of treasures with you he doesn't

[14:01]have Treasures what's wrong he doesn't even have a garden he doesn't

[14:08]own anything that he can eat from it he's just a poor

[14:11]orphan who's got nothing to them the only person who could become

[14:18]a leader or somebody who had money who had power who'd been

[14:23]to Oxford and Cambridge sorry okay so yeah and those who are

[14:33]unjust say in that if you are following him you are following

[14:41]someone who does sir sir is Magic okay so you're following somebody

[14:46]who's Crazy who's infatuated with magic you're just infatuated with him so

[14:51]they're telling those people he's got no position he's got no power

[14:57]he's got no money what's wrong with you can you see their

[15:01]objections okay so these are their objections now this is what Allah

[15:05]says see they have not understood who you are and they have

[15:16]just gone astray they're not gonna find a way out of this

[15:20]so I'm going to go back you've got your building there in

[15:23]your book and literally I've put six things there okay the first

[15:26]thing I've put there is that he has made up these stories

[15:30]so he's lied the second except the people who people who do

[15:35]not follow Divine guidance will say their ancient story is dictated to

[15:39]him morning and night he's an ordinary man who eats he goes

[15:43]shopping he doesn't have any Treasures he's not accompanied by an Angel

[15:48]and he has psychological issues that's basically what they said are you

[15:52]good with that now you can read the rest of this I'm

[15:55]not going to go into each Ayah because it's going to be

[15:59]a little bit difficult okay so now we're going to go to

[16:03]the second section which is coming up in a minute I would

[16:11]have loved to do the whole Surah but I don't think we

[16:14]we have the time to do this so this is section two

[16:18]right there you go section two starts at Ayah 21.

[16:19]now section 2 talks about the day of judgment and I'd like

[16:25]to focus on Aya 30 okay normally I would do each aisle

[16:34]with you but here we go so this is the day of

[16:35]judgment anybody who doesn't follow Divine guidance basically and Quran says this

[16:43]throughout the the book is someone who does not believe in Resurrection

[16:46]and someone who does not believe that they're accountable you'll find throughout

[16:51]the Quran this is the theme that's there so if you and

[16:55]I don't follow Divine guidance it's because we don't think we are

[16:58]accountable or we don't think that Divinity knows the way to success

[17:04]now this is what will happen on the day of judgment indeed

[17:14]my people they took they took this book as mahajura right I'm

[17:25]gonna take you through that now hijri is a rock you know

[17:30]that when you go to Hajj many people have gone now you

[17:32]also know the semi-circular wall is known as hijre Ismail you know

[17:39]that right now you also know that you cannot do tawaf unless

[17:44]you go round it you cannot go through it you get that

[17:48]right so what they've done is they've taken this Quran as mahajura

[17:54]they Scuttle around it but they don't want to go through it

[17:56]they don't want to read it they just want to go around

[18:00]it they want to avoid it so the prophet is going to

[18:04]say this is what my people did this is the prophet's complaint

[18:06]on the day of freyama okay so if you can just remember

[18:12]is something they want to Scuttle around I was reading something and

[18:16]I say it very often I quote it I don't know who

[18:18]said it but they said most Muslims see the Quran as a

[18:23]software license they don't read everything they just go down and say

[18:26]I agree I'm not talking about you I'm talking about me okay

[18:29]so he goes through the whole book and I'm a kojo I'm

[18:33]very proud of being one but when it comes to Quran it's

[18:36]just I'm sorry that's me um let's go to section three now

[18:45]so you've got section one you've got section two are you good

[18:47]with that so if you close your eyes and you think of

[18:50]far Khan what do you think of something that tells you what's

[18:54]right and wrong you think of foreign who you are if you

[18:57]follow Divine guidance and who you are if you don't follow Divine

[18:59]guidance section one told you all the objections you have if you

[19:04]don't follow Divine guidance which is section two think of the day

[19:07]of judgment and the prophet saying that they took this book as

[19:09]mahajura now we come to section three now section three is an

[19:15]example of those who did not follow the Quran or who did

[19:19]not follow their books of guidance and Allah always gives examples and

[19:22]if you look at your building you've got the people of Iran

[19:27]the people of no Adan samud and the people of Ras I'm

[19:30]not going to go into a history lesson right now but in

[19:33]essence that's what section 3 is about I suggest you read it

[19:37]and I've highlighted the names of the prophets in my book maybe

[19:39]you could do that in your book as well so for example

[19:44]in this one you know you've got harun there right you've got

[19:48]Dana then you can see how they were sent to firon then

[19:56]you can see how the people of new rejected the prophet you've

[20:01]got the people of samud now the reason why you and I

[20:03]go to madresa or to a workshop or whatever you do is

[20:07]to be able to learn these historical lessons I don't have to

[20:09]teach them or tell them to you all you have to do

[20:12]is go to a search engine type the name in and the

[20:16]whole story will come down on CU Fatima I've got a whole

[20:17]book on Q prophets and we've got a whole section on if

[20:20]you want to hear if you're not one of those people who

[20:24]reads you can hear them right and Allah says we gave and

[20:26]to everyone we give examples and if you don't take from lessons

[20:31]from the examples we will destroy you right it's quite harsh about

[20:36]that section four now once he's given example of those who don't

[20:40]follow Divine guidance in the whole of section 4 which is I

[20:45]have 45 to 62 and again I'm not going to look at

[20:49]all of them it's beautiful because it literally talks about when you

[20:52]go out walk look at creation it took us about two and

[20:58]a half hours to get here but the way is beautiful because

[21:00]you come through all sorts of terrains you know it comes with

[21:05]some Greenery it comes through some towns you come to all sorts

[21:07]of things and literally it reminds you of all these things right

[21:10]today I was saying very unusual for for now you've got no

[21:15]shade there's no clouds and this is England it's beautiful while here

[21:20]he says have you seen how Allah creates shade right and he

[21:23]says you take we take it away little by little that's night

[21:28]there's day there's winds now again I've put it down in your

[21:30]thing for you so you can read it later on but I'd

[21:33]like to go to the last section which I'd like to spend

[21:35]a little bit more time on because that's basically what we're going

[21:40]to look at I'm going slowly at this but hopefully you will

[21:43]underline all this in your books so now we go to section

[21:48]five and section five is just phenomenal that's the last section so

[21:52]this is who you become if you follow the Quran I would

[21:57]suggest a tick list it's about 11 things so basically make a

[22:02]chart I put it down in my Quran as 11 things I

[22:04]would have brought one which I give to the students but I

[22:07]think you can do it yourself always your own words are far

[22:09]better than mine okay okay so almost says now this is who

[22:13]you should be he doesn't say he says those who are and

[22:21]I know it says the Servants of the Rahman basically it means

[22:25]those who are attached to the Rahman Rahman is the only ISM

[22:32]of Allah with which Asura starts every time you start something you

[22:37]say Bismillah if you forget anything in life and you you don't

[22:40]know any duas to read just yeah because it's immediate Mercy it's

[22:44]phenomenal anyway so the the those who are attached to the Rahman

[22:49]what do they do number one when they walk on the Earth

[22:56]it's with humility and when they now it says meet the ignorant

[23:04]no kritva is a proposal for marriage is a you know when

[23:10]you talk as a advisor talk so he's saying when they engage

[23:13]with somebody who is they say peace I'm going to paraphrase this

[23:23]the way of life is dominated by humility number one number two

[23:28]when insulted by ignorance they punish it with kindness that's what they

[23:32]do I'm going to tell you a story so you don't forget

[23:36]this I always grew up and I was born in a town

[23:37]called Moshi I was very young when my father died I was

[23:41]10 but I remember that when I was about eight or nine

[23:47]in the in the town that was next door to us Arusha

[23:52]some of you might recognize these names the cemetery had been completely

[23:59]flooded and the graves had all sunk and my father was one

[24:02]of those people who went to help to sort out the graves

[24:05]and I re I still remember as a child when he came

[24:08]back he sat down for a minute and he wouldn't speak and

[24:12]my mama said what's the matter and he said nothing and what's

[24:15]the matter he said you know that man whom they used to

[24:19]call a lie you know what Allah is in good in Kachi

[24:20]Allah I mean somebody who's not suited booted who puts his shirt

[24:25]outside his pants who wears chapels because he can do wudu properly

[24:28]his trousers are not down they're a bit up because they don't

[24:30]get nudgies have you seen those people they're beautiful that actually means

[24:34]Allah he but we call them Allah right and he was the

[24:38]caretaker at the mosque in Arusha and my father was doing his

[24:40]grave and he had died some 10 years before and when my

[24:46]father moved the Earth from his grave his body was as though

[24:49]it had been buried that same day and my father said that

[24:55]man that they who filled in water for people in their toilets

[24:57]you know I actually filled in and he kept your water and

[25:01]people made fun of him my father said that's what he was

[25:04]like so here the first sign is their life is dominated by

[25:13]humility number two they will when insulted by ignorance they will punish

[25:19]it by kindness okay next liar and when we do see it

[25:36]more so basically I'll paraphrase it their nighttime activity is talking to

[25:41]their rub so even if they open their eyes in the middle

[25:43]of the night you know they're talking to their Rob My grandmother

[25:49]used to I cannot even remember once that if she was sitting

[25:52]standing opening her eyes she would say and I thought that I

[26:00]didn't understand then but as a child I thought that when she

[26:02]said it means my knees are hurting but it didn't thank you

[26:08]it's amazing woman okay next one now this is what they say

[26:13]they say rabbana our rub as if Allah keep the fire away

[26:23]from us it's something that sticks to you so I'm going to

[26:28]paraphrase this they have a powerful vision of the so when they're

[26:33]doing something wrong they know it's like touching fire that is why

[26:36]every two minutes they say we don't want something that sticks to

[26:41]us if you read Dua al-hazin after Salah maybe one record that's

[26:45]fine after that there's a Dua de remains which is called in

[26:48]the end of dual hazin I think in the it's in the

[26:52]last the third but last verse you're asking for forgiveness from the

[26:57]tar you know like tar that's put on the on on the

[27:01]roads you're asking forgiveness that because it's sticks so that's all that

[27:04]reminds you of somewhere where you live even if it's for a

[27:16]short time we don't want to see the fire we don't want

[27:20]to be near it incidentally I presume you will all be doing

[27:23]the Amal of the day of Arafat and you will be reciting

[27:29]dual if you look at right at the end and I'm gonna

[27:34]turn towards it so you would remember it this is what Imam

[27:36]Hussain says he says yes about numbers I remember which is compassion

[27:49]he says it's right at the end the Dua says he raises

[27:54]his head and looked at the skies and he cried after that

[27:58]long Dua so if you can remember ears eyes numbers and a

[28:02]hug can you remember that yeah good okay then he says um

[28:10]salawat in the prophet and he says I'm going to ask you

[28:14]for one thing so after that whole Dua he's asking for one

[28:17]thing he says if you were to give it to me nobody

[28:20]can take it away from me if you were to refuse it

[28:25]nobody can give it to me so what does he asked for

[28:29]this is one thing he asked for he says I ask you

[28:34]that my neck be freed from the fire that's it colors that's

[28:39]all he asked for so this is what is in suratul for

[28:43]Khan right next one this is the other sign when they spend

[28:47]and spend doesn't mean just money whatever they're doing they don't go

[28:55]Otto they're not stingy as well they are in between so maybe

[29:06]I will paraphrase this basically they have moderate shopping habits they're not

[29:11]very stingy and they're not completely Ott either they don't waste either

[29:16]okay I'm looking at my husband because every time we go to

[29:20]a restaurant and I leave something on my plate he says oh

[29:22]God 67 he must have read it okay now must listen to

[29:33]this and please write it down first thing they don't do shirk

[29:35]number one what a shirk effect the soul right number two they

[29:45]do not kill anyone what does killing anyone refer to the body

[29:52]as known basically they don't betray anyone in their relationships which which

[29:55]refers to the heart so in other words they don't kill the

[30:01]soul they don't kill the body and they don't kill the heart

[30:06]and they know that is the most awful thing you can do

[30:11]so I'll paraphrase this again they do not kill Souls they do

[30:18]not kill bodies and they don't kill Hearts either because they know

[30:22]you that their punishment is doubled um but but the worst thing

[30:32]you think you do but then look what he says it is

[30:37]so amazing even the worst sins of all we don't forgive but

[30:44]God forgives except those who do a u-turn and they believe in

[30:50]and they start doing righteous stuff Allah will change their evil into

[31:01]good I'm not sure whether you do this but before every Salah

[31:06]afternoon it's in front of you is the sinner was change what

[31:19]is evil in me to what is beautiful in you it's it's

[31:25]phenomenal and that's basically what he's saying he is okay and he

[31:34]said again he repeats one who doesn't U-turn and does good foreign

[31:44]so you don't forget um as a man who came to the

[31:50]prophet and he said I can't sleep I've got PTSD I can't

[31:54]sleep Prophet said why he said all that goes through my head

[31:58]is when I buried my daughter and she said yeah ABI oh

[32:03]my father so he relates it's part of the custom of the

[32:08]Arabs at that time to bury their daughters alive right so they

[32:13]buried the doors not because they didn't love them but because in

[32:16]their Community women were used and abused and they didn't want to

[32:20]see their daughters used and abused I'd like to take you through

[32:23]a story so it doesn't leave your heads at all okay so

[32:28]if you imagine a mama with a little girl imagine Baba says

[32:32]sorry gotta go bury her and she says no let her grow

[32:38]up a little bit so now this Baba is is crawling and

[32:40]he says I'll take her now no no no no no no

[32:44]walking no no no no no talking he says that's enough now

[32:48]we're taking her so you imagine him holding his daughter's hand and

[32:52]he's taking her to the Village a field or Village Green as

[32:55]such and he takes it to the Village Green and there's a

[32:59]hole and she tells her Baba are we going to pray hide

[33:01]and seek and he looks at her with tears in his eyes

[33:04]he puts her in the hole and she says where are you

[33:09]and they start throwing Earth on here and she says oh my

[33:14]father and that's exactly what happened so the prophet said have you

[33:20]got a mama you said no he said have you got a

[33:23]father he said no he said have you got your mother's sister

[33:26]and he said yes and the prophet said go serve her for

[33:30]the rest of your life and that will be October for burying

[33:35]your daughter so I'm just giving you small examples of what this

[33:39]is talking about what tawba means it means dedicating yourself okay there

[33:43]you go now the English translation is quite difficult they don't um

[33:54]he says they don't bear witness to what is false what is

[33:59]basically trying to say is they don't walk away from Injustice they

[34:03]don't say well it's their problem I'm not going to get involved

[56:36]the Ruku has three numbers one on top one in the middle

[56:37]and one at the bottom the top is a number in the

[56:40]Surah or the the bottom is the Jews on the middle is

[56:44]the number five no these are sections we've sort of worked out

[56:47]through the topics concerned and again they are by the toceros de

[56:50]Olema not just taken just like that even the the the um

[56:55]the suburbs in here it's how the ulama have separated these surahs
